Man this place is awesome!! Bottomless brunch and seems they have something cool going on everyday. I had the blue cheese Mac and cheese with chicken and it was delicious. We also got Nutella bacon lol was awesome! Will definitely be back

Had my daughters baptism party in their separate party room. Everything went beautifully, the food was amazing- some of my guests are pretty hard to please and they were raving about it. Shout out to Karen and Paul for being super accommodating and making sure everything went smoothly and that we were happy through the whole event. Would definitely recommend for a private party.
SO MET UP WITH OUR COUSIN FOR A LATE NIGHT DINNER ON FRIDAY NIGHT.WE WERE SEATED RIGHT AWAY AND WAITRESS CAME RIGHT OVER.THE FRENCH ONION SOUP WAS ON POINT AND OUR MAIN DISHES WERE PERFECTLY COOKED.THE SALMON,CHICKEN MURPHY COOKED TO PERFECTION.SO GREAT ATMOSPHERE THAT WAS REASONABLY PRICEDMADE FOR A GREAT NIGHT.ONLY DOWNER IS FINDING PARKING ON THE STREET AND BEING FROM NJ,NOT USED TO THIS.

We were at The Local today watching football. The dinner was delicious. There was lasagna, chicken franchise, steak, vegetables, & potato cubes. Everything was so good. My complements to the chef. Definitely try The Local...you will love it!
The staff was entertaining professional and knowledgeable. Food was well prepared and chef uses an unusual but tasty mixing of flavors. The blackened tuna with broccoli rabe was very good and a surprising combination. The chocolate bourbon pecan pie was different but excellent. Had a very enjoyable meal.
Everything was great and the wait staff is super friendly. Well definitely be back. The only slight complaint was hubbys fries were a bit too salty. The calamari was insanely good.Its a Bar when you first walk in, the restaurant is toward the back to the right, theres also outdoor seating.
This place is definitely a must go to. It was a nice enjoyable Friday early evening one of my friends recommended this place and happy she did. The whole entire staff were welcoming, accommodating, quick and made the whole experience that much better. Nice place to go for dinner, date, after work, watch a game etc...
Place is pretty decent on the other hand i asked for shrimp oreganata as an appetizer i got 5 shrimp for 26$ thats a little ridiculous, the lady messed up my order I wanted the lobster as my entree she never put it in and charged me as a shrimp scampi entree no pasta no sides , probably wont come back

My friend and I went for brunch. The service was quick and polite. We recieved a complimentary appetizer and mini brownies that were tasty. Our food was prepared fast and theres a lot of interesting artwork to look at. Their mimosas really hit the spot.

My wife and I went to The Local for brunch this morning. Rarely are we pleasantly surprised but were today. The food was delicious. I ordered the the steak and eggs. It was a large tender steak cooked a perfect medium. My wife had the stuffed French toast which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our waiter Michael was very knowledgeable, helpful and all around nice guy. It was a perfect Sunday afternoon. Can’t wait to go back

First, I would like to say that I have only had positive experiences at the Local. I must complement Dave, who seems to run the show! What a wonderful person and a total asset to this restaurant. Now, Our waitress Julie and our buss boy AJ were also terrific!!!! Food was wonderful. Will be back

I would not recommend the local, my experience there was terrible. When I arrived and ordered a drink from the bar I had an ant in my drink. Then I got food to come home with and my meat was raw inside. I have been calling the restaurant trying to speak to a manager and no one has gotten back to me. Definitely will not recommend this place to no one.

Went here for brunch in August. The one waitress was not great at all. Food was good, but not outstanding. I would like to try dinner, but not convinced.

Brunch today was very good. It is a great buy for $28 includes an entree and unlimited breakfast cocktails. The only thing I think they should change is that the chicken and waffles should have a fried chicken breast with the waffles rather than 3 chicken tenders.

We went there on a Saturday night , the place was full. Had to wait for a table but there was room at the bar and live music playing so it was all good.The food was great , the menu has a good amount of options. The service was excellent, never had an empy glass and they were very accommodating. I definitely will return many more times.
Food has changed for the worst. Took our grandchildren for dinner one of my granddaughters had ravioli and the next day started throwing up my other granddaughter had a medium rare burger, had to send back when burger came back my granddaughter still had a problem with it when i asked for the check the said he was sorry and there was nothing he could do, he didnt even send the manager over every thing on the plate was dry from pickle to even the lettuce and tomato. We have eaten here several times before, and we arent looking for a freebie just good food.
Just got home from the pepperjack grill and I was extremely disappointed . the prices are ridiculous for what was mediocre food at best. the have a great looking place and a nice bar but if they dont step it up they will be closing real soon.
I never loved the Pepper Jack but decided to try The Local for drinks & apps on a Thursday night, place was pretty full and service was good. Jamieson wings were delicious, crab cakes not good at all, other apps were ok. Margaritas were good and drinks were priced very reasonably. Will give this place another try.
Another fantastic meal. Just had Brunch with the family. Try the Stuffed French Toast, it was absolutely the best Ive had. Not only was the food great, I have to say the service from Max & Michael was outstanding .

Really nice restaurant with friendly bartender and waiter. Marvelous local mixed-media artwork on the walls and ceiling...they host art workshops!Food was delicious and portions where huge! Parking is difficult as it is located on a busy street. However the restaurant is handicap-accessible.

My first time here last week...I was there for a party so we were in the party room not the actual restaurant...room was nice...but the food unfortunately was not good
Twice my experiences in front of this place were poor....the 1st a Thursday night with 2 boys barely legal sitting outside on patio furniture with one boy retching and the other trying to comfort him as he got sick all under table and chair. The second a Tuesday with a few guys talking and cursing excessively outside at patio area in front but hardly a shock at a bar until the one Boy directed his attention toward me yelling he owns the block and dare i park accross the street and use my phone and how im a freak and he wrote my licence plate down... hardly the inviting atmosphere you would want beckoning you into place. Unfortunately the riff raff in front of the pepper jack will prevent me from ever returning.

The food is hit and miss. Some dishes are good, others, too experimental. Cool atmosphere and good service however. Also, there is a bottomless brunch option which is rare to find on Staten Island.

Definitely an improved menu with more helthy options and creative burgers, pastats and salads. Food presentation is nicely done and its good. There is a creative and welcoming atmosphere with local artists showing their work. The service is great and the beers are cold. Definitely worth the visit.
The hostess was rude (told us that brunch ends in 10 minutes and if we want it, we have to order fast), our server was really nice, and the food was less than alright and the drinks were watered down. I wouldnt come back
Pepper jacks is my absolute favorite place to go on the island. The food is always amazing and I love their blueberry cosmo (man in a box). I really enjoyed the new appetizers they added and am glad they still have their version of a mozzerella stick.The remodel last year for the outside is amazing too. I love bringing my pup, Delilah, for lunch or drinks with friends. They always offer her a treat and have a water bowl for her.

I was there on Sunday, September 27, 2015.Maybe it was an off day, but their Sunday brunch was terrible. The food sucked. And if it wasnt for the 2 mimosas that I had and being with family, I wouldve thrown myself out of the window.Maybe theyre a better place for lunch and dinner, but I dont recommend this place for brunch.

I think the environment is awesome.The food was disappointing. I ordered a salad with pears, walnuts, & goat cheese; the salad was warm & they put warm canned pear chunks on top =[ dont put pear salad on your menu if theyre not fresh

****UPDATED REVIEW***New owners, New name, New review.I was looking forward to visiting the Local because I used to love Pepperjacks so much but was completely disappointed. On top of the food being sub par, our server Diane’s icy demeanor made us feel as though our presence was inconveniencing her. When she finally got around to clearing our appetizer plates she didn’t speak a word to us at all, or even make eye contact. She was not friendly or personable and was barely present at our table; although she made sure to check in on all of the tables around us with a smile and even stopped to chat with several of them. The saving grace of the night was the hostess who checked on us periodically to get us things Diane couldn’t be bothered to check back to our table back for ie. salt for our under-seasoned food, lemons, refills, and napkins. We ordered French onion soup, wings, the Local burger and a “jacked up steak wrap” which was my absolute favorite thing to order at Pepper Jacks. Unfortunately The Local clearly hasn’t kept the same standard of food OR service because both were bland. We felt unwelcome by our server, and were unimpressed by the food. I do regret not asking to speak with a manager regarding Diane’s less than 2 star service, but with all of the amazing restaurants on the Island.. I decided against getting the manager involved because we will never be returning to The Local. If you’re looking for a great place to eat I recommend Bella Mama Rose, Flour & Oak, Vinum, or The Richmond————————————————————————OldReview vvvvvPepperjacks staff is awesome, their food is great and so are their drinks ! I went there for brunch and loved it so much that I went back for dinner later that week. Just left the Pepper Jack Grill. This was our first visit but will not be the last. The host who seated us was very friendly and our server James was TOPNOTCH! 4 star rating is because we sat on the patio (by choice) which has a different menu from inside (will be 5 stars when we sample inside menu). We ordered a selection of appetizers, which were all great. Make sure you eat the complimentary scratch-made potato chips that they put on your table...they are WONDERFUL!
Hi went on Saturday night 9/29 . Im sorry but its up there with one of our worst dinners ever. My Hamburger was on the raw. Mac and cheese tasted sour. Calamari was not done. We ate here before and it was fine. Tonight ended our Pepperjacks run. We r out.

Decent place to take the kids for lunch on a weekend after a trip to the zoo. Service was excellent, portions huge, small town atmosphere, passable food, and the eclectically tacky decor, while unsophisticated, was much more interesting than a generic restaurant and quaintly enjoyable. This isnt a fine dining experience by any stretch (for example, I think the guacamole might have come out of a squeeze pouch) but the food is at the diner level and does the job A- OK. Most importantly we felt that our kids were welcome and the timing was impeccable on all fronts. The bar looked great, like I would like to return after dark. Potato chips were a highlight of the lunch!
Disappointing.... Unfortunately this place went downhill. I used to frequent on a regular basis for the Sunday brunch which used to be excellent. I walked in to meet a friend who had already ordered brunch and had eaten by the time I arrived. I ordered Nutella bacon to start, it tasted old, stale, frost bitten and chewy. Next I ordered the steak and eggs (same as my friend) and I was told I couldn’t have my eggs over easy, although my friend ordered it that way 13 min prior??? The bartender also explained the steak was partially pre-cooked so I also couldn’t order it medium rare and it came out on a cold skilletBottom line is that will not patron this establishment again. I suggest you try it out yourself because I am very confident you will feel the same way.

Decent little bar in Staten island.Staff are very friendly and great fun! Happy to chat away and have some banter.Had some decent food and burger is really bloody good.Drank her on a weekend and a weekday in afternoon.Shows alot of sports and soccer so was perfect.Valie was great so no complaints!Pop in for a beer or 4.. worth it.

Do not eat here if you intend on living past 35. The food is literally dripping in oil and full of salt.If you must, try something grilled. I was literally sick after giving this restaurant a 3rd try.
Many runners from my running club, the Staten Island Athletic Club, frequent this place for good reason; its the atmosphere, the people, and the food. This place supports the arts and displays a rotating gallery of artwork made from local artists. The place is always lively and full of people who need a break from their busy lives. I often see a lot of smiles and people engaged in casual conversations when I visit this place. It has three distinct sections: a bar, a restaurant, and two large party rooms. The food is mainly comfort food, but there are a few offerings of salads. The turkey chili is delicious with a combination of mild spiciness and sweetness that Ive never tasted before at other restaurants. And there are ample beer and cocktail offerings as well. Many fun and interesting events go on at this place as shown in its monthly event calendar. The events range from live music to adult painting sessions involving alcoholic beverages. Overall, this restaurant-bar is one of the jewels of Staten Island on many different levels.
Well my expectations were not met they were killedi was expecting a nice dining experience but we got a table in the middle of a party room with a birthday going on so on either side of us their was one table of adults another for the kids my wife and I in in the middle sitting at what can be described as a cafe table.We had made these reservations three days ahead of time needless to day it was basically the worst dining experience I have had in a very long time like 10 years and I eat out two to three times a week. We got out of their as fast as we could spoke to the host/manager her retort was weak and meaningless hashtag never go back
Food-the food was great 👍🏼. They started with these amazing chips and dip. We ordered buffalo mac for the table and it was the best. We also got fryed mozzarella, defenetly recommend that. For the entrees I got pretzel chicken club which was good but was lacking some flavor.Staff- the staff was really nice. They got things to us pretty quickly. Also they just had a very nice attitude towards there customers.Place- the inside was very artistic. I loved all the art especially the ceiling.*we went on Sunday and wanted brunch but we drove in from Brooklyn and was 30 mins late but whatever
My sister and friend were very satisfied with their meals. I felt the sangria was very watered down and the dumpling soup wasnt very good at all. The spinach was good.

I was excited to try Pepper Jack Grill for dinner as the decorations outside are very cute and make it very inviting. We went in for dinner on a Wednesday night. There were 3 other tables there. Our server was rather slow and was not knowledgeable of the menu. Each table is given homemade chips as a free appetizer. They were greasy, but OK. I ordered the Pretzel Club as per a recommendation of a friend. I loved it! The decor and atmosphere of Pepper Jack Grill is adorable. Art work of local students and artists is displayed which makes it unique. There is a fireplace which made it cozy.
The Carpenters Touch had our Employee Christmas Party @PepperJack. The Skirt Steak was so soft & tasty and everyone loved it! The staff was professional and so helpful. The owner was so understanding. ..definitely 5 star service!
Just had lunch here... for starters my cup smelled like a dirty sponge... I ordered the deep fried bacon cheddar burger and it was super bland. Could not taste bacon or any cheese. In fact Im not sure what if anything was fired. It was in a moist wrap meant for a salad wrap. My wife had egg noodles with steak tips and that was also super bland. I think the only thing that was ok were the free potato chips they serve with horseradish. Lame experience.

Server took a long time to take our order, she gave us soggy potato chips as an appetizer, when the food arrived it was cold, tasteless and disgusting! Bar was filled with a lot of very young rowdy drunks. This is NOT a family place and it is definitely NOT a restaurant! Bathroom looked and smelled like a monkey house. Staten Island Ferry has better food. Avoid at all costs. Perhaps, next year when this place is bankrupt, new owners will open up a classy restaurant.

We arrived to find the room beautifully decorated and the food was delicious. Special thanks to Paul and the crew that couldnt do enough for us. Their help was greatly appreciated. Pepper Jack Grill has become the usual dinner spot whenever we get together with friends. They have unique and delicious appetizers (their mozzarella spring rolls and fried zucchini are the best), and their entrees are amazing twists on comfort foods. We love the chicken francese spinach salad and the pot roast. Their mixed drinks are also among my favorite. The Rocket Man is perfectly fruity and sweet. My fiance loves the Man in the Box, which is a blueberry drink. The service is consistent and friendly. I highly recommend this place!

2022-03-21I rarely give a restaurant five stars but this is well deserved. Super friendly service which is always important to me. We had the French onion soup and sirloin tips for appetizer and they were delicious. I had the Blackened Burger and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the Caesar Salad and enjoyed every bite. Another big plus for me was that the place was very clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, would definitely visit again.

2022-04-24I had the blacken skirt steak with shrimps which was gd and dont know what was on the tomatoes, but they taste great. Shrimps didnt have much taste. My wife had the lamb chops with the wine sauce and it taste great and very soft.. I also had a raspberry sangria that didnt have much liquor at all. It taste more like raspberry punch.. Will definitely go again for great tasting lamb chops.

2022-04-09Worse experience i ever had the worker/party planner , was rushing my guest and i out for my bridal shower i booked while ago, its was for 1-430pm they were slow on taking our orders. I was very disappointed i was upset and ifelt i was being rush out.

2020-02-04I had the pleasure of eating at The Local tonight. Everything was excellent! Starters: Brocolli Rabe & Sausage Egg Rolls, Pepper Jacks Famous Steak Tips and Asian Calamari !!! We had the Strawberry Ricotta Salata Salad (I could have eaten the whole platter). Finale: Chicken Parm Alfredo, so much cheese!!! And the Rigatoni Bolognese!!!! Thank you for a wonderful meal and the great service.
