I had Louisiana Cookery for the first time YEARS ago at Food Truck Tuesday and they have been delicious and consistent ever since. The couple who owns the restaurant are just genuinely kind people, the food is so flavorful and always fresh. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Buffalo and everyone I’ve had try their food loves it as well. I hope they never close. Crawfish etouffe is my favorite 😊
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and Im so glad it was. The owners were incredibly friendly and informative as we went through the menu and placed our order. We were eager to try the alligator, which was well seasoned and delicious! Other favorites were the loaded grits with sausage, red beans and rice, and fish & shrimp (the last two were ordered by my friend). Pairing your meal with one of their homemade drinks tops off the cajun experience. Id definitely recommend.
Love this place! I work down the road and will often take out for dinner for the entire family. My young children love the red beans and rice, and the grits. Everything on this menu is excellent. I would know; Ive tried it all. If youre a heat junkie like me, ask for the really hot spices and hot sauces.
I have enjoyed every dish that I have ordered there (including the sides). Wonderful flavors and combinations. The shrimp and grits are one of my favorites (with cheese and bacon etc) they have very limited seating, so most people do take out, however I do enjoy the cozy conversations when I eat in. I might add that if you are going there, Wednesday-Saturday are the only options. Enjoy!
I wish I can give it less than one star. My combo plate of catfish and shrimp was paltry and the food was ever-so bland. To add insult to injury, the food is expensive and you do not get a good portion at all. I doubt the chefs are from Louisiana Cajun country because this is not authentic Cajun food whatsoever. Highly disappointed and don’t know why it has so many rave reviews.
Ive been wanting to try this spot for a year or more. So Boom today I tried it and In my mind I was thinking that the crawfish were full body, even tho it says tails still my mind wanted something different. I ended up getting crawfish over rice and a shrimp poboy. When I tell you this was sooooooo perfect to the taste seasoned well and very filling. I will about be goin back.
Literally some of the best food Ive ever had in my entire life. Small hole in the wall shop, and dont want to expand in order to focus on quality which you will understand once you try it. If youre a fan of spicy ask for some heat, and they will deliver for sure. The owners are the staff, and everything is made from scratch which they personally make with so much love.
Had made an order through door dash an hour and a half before closing time, plenty of time for an order. At closing time I received a notification saying that our order had been canceled after waiting almost an hour. Truly disappointing, we were really looking forward to trying this place.Edit: thank you for clearing up the confusion, thank you so much and cant wait to get some dinner!
Great food! Ordered Shrimp & Grits and Red Beans, Rice & Sausage. Unfortunately, I dont think the top was completely on the grits so most of it wasted over the bag then busted when I got to my top step. Amy offered me a replacement, but I had just came from shopping all morning & soon will be picking up the kids so didnt wanna go back out. Was looking for Gumbo, but not on menu. Will be back to get the rest of the items on the menu
Failure to update your hours so people don’t drive out of their way to visit your establishment is deplorable. Power outage that seem to only impacted them! First impression was not good and will not even consider this restaurant an option in the future! Good luck with the power 👎🏽🤔
A breath of fresh air in the area! Had the shrimp jambalaya and cheese grits to go, so far so good, well worth the visit. The place has a few tables so if you want to sit down and eat, you have that option. Pro tip, it looked like many people called ahead for pick up. Also, if you’re ordering to go, ask for hot sauce, they’ll give it to you in tiny containers that is just enough to add some heat to help you through the winter.
After being lucky enough to catch their food truck a few times in the city, I was excited to hear theyd opened up a brick and mortar in Cheektowaga. We stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered the jambalaya and crawfish étouffée and ate in. Staff was very friendly and though the space is tiny it was nice and casual for a quick bite. The portions are generous, and the food was delicious as Ive come to expect from them, the ratio of rice to roux in the étouffée was perfect! This spot is worth the trip, Cant wait to come back again!
All that I can say is OMG this place was amazing!!! If you dont eat here you are missing the taste of New Orleans. I was really amazed on the fast service and OMG the food was so so good! I cant wait to try everything they offer . The crawfish was out of this world delicious. I will be back several times

2022-05-01Small take out restaurant with a small menu that they do RIGHT! Everything is tasty. Large portions, even the “cup” size is more than enough. Sides that came with the catfish dinner were enough to split and I didn’t need to have ordered extras. Red beans and rice, cheesy grits and etouffe all had incredible flavor. Po’ boy was just like one I had in NOLA. Wasn’t my first visit, won’t be my last.

2020-01-24A tiny place thats best for takeout. Owners were friendly and got my food quick. Ordered a large order of jambalaya with sausage. It was phenomenal. The sausage was perfect and the different flavors of the dish werent muddled together. Had some great heat too. Portions are also generous and I easily had some left over for later.

2017-11-10Got the Crawfish Etoufee, very tasty. Plenty of Crawfish meat, was so filling that I snapped on a lid to take half to go. Currently only two tables so plan on takeout if it is busy. Very friendly owners.
