Such an awesome little place that delivers big taste! Sean the chef/owner is a friendly, kind man who makes delicious, tasty, and healthy soups and sandwiches. His lemon asparagus soup and deviled egg sandwich is a fave combo.

Absolutely amazing! We started getting food from The Lunchbox past 2 weeks now and havent been disappointed. Portions are just right and the food is tasty. Thank you for dropping off menus to us at Kingston Consignments. We all love the soups and todays steak tacos.
Sean is the best! And has yummy food. We bring quart containers and bring home chilli & soups that go into the freezer for lazy nights. Sometimes we eat lunch at his curbside table. Go early (11a) -- he runs out of stuff quickly!
Great small place in the old opera house. Friendly smiles and great food. I drive 45 minutes just for this mans soup. Enjoy it you wont regret it. No seating, sidewalk, restaurant.
The BEST egg salad sandwich ever!!!! Owner was so friendly and had no problem going into detail with menu items. Prices are fantastic. Really such a wonderful place!!!
You really cant go wrong with anything on Seans menu. The soups are great, sandwiches are go-to, and theres always a clever special!

2022-06-01The Lunchbox is a must eat in Kingston. Stopped here for a bite. Very fast service for one person cooking everything. Fresh and tasty! Cute little table and two chairs set up to sit on the sidewalk to eat. Would absolutely return. Recommended especially for cyclists who are riding the rail-trail!

2022-05-03I was on my way to the Yum Yum Noodle Bar Saturday lunchtime when I was drawn in by the amazing smells coming from The Lunchbox. I ended up ordering the vegan BLT and was so pleased I did. The food was wonderful and the proprietor of this tiny establishment couldnt have been nicer. Im sure Ive walked past this place dozens of times and never noticed it. So glad I finally gave it a try!

2022-05-24For what it is, it is excellent. This is a window on the street behind which stands a very pleasant, soft spoken man serving wonderful, simple lunches and just marvelous soups. His shop - on view through the window - is approximately 5x8 feet. In there is a refrigerator, a gas grill and a work surface; my clothes closet is bigger. There is one tiny table on the sidewalk - most folks take away - and a chalk board with the days several specials. This is a gem!

2022-05-11Needed a quick lunch, and stopped in after hearing good things. It was not the right weather for it, but Sojourners Soup (ham, black-eyed peas & kale) was way too good sounding to pass up. It was AMAZING! Best cup of soup I have had in a long time. Owner couldnt have been more kind and service was fast! I will be back again and again!

2022-02-15The Lunchbox is run by Sean, a man standing in a tiny room with one fridge, one griddle, one street facing window and an impressive menu. Seriously, you can tell everything on the menu is made with a lot of love. For a quick fresh lunch it doesn’t get much better. Try the chili. And yes, he takes cards!

2022-05-28This guy and this place is the bomb. Found it as a road side stop on my way to God’s country. Turkey BLT and Chicken Salad were perfect. Found God’s country on Fair St in Kingston, NY.

2021-10-08Had an excellent tuna fish sandwich. White albacore tuna. Delicious bread. Just the right amount of mayo. We also had a fried chicken salad sandwich which was very yummy. And the tomatoes on the sandwiches were delicious.

2020-06-22THE BEST VEGAN FOOD SPOT IN KINGSTON!!If youre looking for soulful yet reasonably priced vegan food options in Uptown Kingston, this place is number one!!! He always comes up with unique, flavorful, creative vegan options-- without charging you an arm and a leg! As a vegan of many years, this is one of the few vegan food spots I have ever found where I was not disappointed, and the ONLY vegan place in Kingston that I genuinely enjoy eating from.Sean, the owner and chef, is particularly an EXPERT in robust, flavorful vegan soups-- he probably presents the only circumstance under which I will eat soup on a 90 degree day.Sean is not only an exceptional chef, but also an absolutely LOVELY human being! Very sweet, gentle, and caring! I look forward to my daily interactions with him!He is located on Fair street across from Petalos and next to Yum Yum Noodles. 2020-08-21I wasn’t familiar with The Lunch Box but the reviews led me here. I just had the “vegan extravaganza” sandwich, it was delicious! I’m not a vegan, but I appreciate good food. This was tasty and satisfying. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in the area. You order from a window, it’s perfect for a distanced grab and go (or you can sit at an outdoor table).

2020-08-05The jerk chicken and jerk portobello sandwiches are so, so good! The lentil soup is delicious, too. There are as many options for vegans as non-vegans, and the cherries we got as a side we’re fresh and tasty. Also, the owner is such a nice guy. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
