First of all, if youve never done any form of medical office/hospital work, this course is probably not best for you. They cram about six months worth of work in one month, but they have great teachers there who set the pace very well. I completed this course earlier this year ,and received all texts needed for completion. It is definitely inexpensive for a reason!! At the end of the course the teacher will give you very REAL and informative advice on how to go forward, which state/ private exams are best and the best areas to seek employment. This information is worth the month of course work. They have a strict time table, and work well with students to make sure they are getting all the benefits. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed with the huge amount of course study. Great teachers!!

My entire staff of swim instructors had to be certified with EKG and we all took courses there and it was wonderful. We loved the teacher. We were all surprised at how the school was so professional after looking at some whacko reviews. I must say that some people absolutely ignorant that courses cost and that schools must cover their business costs that is why they charge tuition and try to collect from the students that are on installment plans. The school has a big rent to pay and a big payroll; and they do not advertise themselves as a free institution. I saw nothing egregious about they way they behaved fiscally. I did see a bunch of people that were fiscally irresponsible not bring the balance of their monies and overreact about the school trying to collect. I felt bad for the school. Al ot of the students were just very unrealistic about paying for their classes.

This school is HORRIBLE took a Medical Assistant course felt like I learned absolutely nothing in certain classes because there was a very unprofessional teacher that would always talk about her personal life, would get into arguments with students because they would complain to her and to the people at the front desk because she did not know how to teach. I had her for like 4 classes and did not learn anything!! I wish i would had seen the reviews before i enrolled the people at the front desk are VERY rude do things with an attitude. Some teachers did a great job at teaching thank you to them. But overall this school is unprofessional, classroom trash cans would be full and the cleaning lady would take forever to clean. The womens bathroom only has two stalls which makes zero sense when 90% of the school is females. I would not recommend this school to anybody !! Find somewhere else because I wish someone would had told me and warned me about this school I regret it 100%.

I had an awesome experience at the Manhattan institute. I took the nurses aid class, I learned a lot, the teacher was very nice and patient with all the students, The school is really set up beautifully with student lounge area, nice size classrooms and its not overly crowded. They have a lot of equipment to learn on, the staff in the front are very helpful with anything you need. Also the school is in a great location, you can even go shopping at Macys if you get a break. I was worried about getting employed afterwards but I spoke to Renee in job placement and she really helped me a lot, we worked on my resume, she helped me set up interviews and I got hired almost right away, turns out the woman that interviewed me also attended the Manhattan Institute back in 2000.I am thinking of taking the EKG and phlebotomy class there as well, so I can further my career. if you want to better yourself and are looking for a career in the medical field then this is the school you should attend, although some of the other students are very negative and do not seem like they are really trying to learn, seems like they are just going because their parents want them to, but just stay away from the negative ones and focus on yourself.

I am new to New York City and I needed to take some courses to round out my medical studies. I signed up for the phlebotomy class and it was extremely informative. I was able to pay with installments, their office person name Rosa was very helpful about it. I was very crowded at the front where people sign up and I noticed the staff patiently explaining the description of the various courses to people that were totally unaware of the medical field. A lot of people there were fresh out of High School hoping this school would land them a job comparable to an RN degree. It will not work that way. Manhattan Institute is great for entry level positions in the entire medical field from hospitals to doctors offices. If you like the field it will behoove you to continue your studies. I learned about the school when I went to the ER room once and one of the PAs told me that they had a spectacular reputation.. I trusted staff at the hospital so then I went over to 34th St. to investigate the school. I saw some crazy reviews-Well it was not that crazy, the person name Haley was very educated and she walked me through the process. I would not go here expecting the same results as going to Columbia U for less time and less money. This is a great place for a vocational study that you can use to wedge your way into the Medical field and take it from there.

This school is a complete scam ! The finical aide advisor is whacko. I was going there for 3 months. The teacher was always late and the test was never a real test. He would give us the answers to study. When I decided to leave the Finical aide advisor stated I would only have to pay the loan back. When I called the company about the loan the stated I can get back the loan from the school being that I did not complete the 11 months course. When I called about this and after being transferred and hung up on a lady by the name of Linda ( One of the recruiters ) said that was not the case all. A lot of back and forth and no results. After that conversation I receive another letter saying I owe them 25,000 dollars for books I never received and a uniform that I know only cost 150 dollars.Ive been trying to reach someone and nobody has the answer just keeps transferring me over and over again. They arent asking for information to pull up my record either which is completely weird. I will be taking them to court because it seems they are trying to use my loan as a bonus check for them and trying to have me pay them for working for a year. I highly recommend going to a real college with real help, real advisors and real teachers.

I am a teacher by profession, didnt know anything about the health field until I met Miss Cuba Bryant aka Miss B. She taught me exceptionally well especially the skills. I recently took my state board in which I did extremely well on the theory and superb on the practical. If you choose a career path in the nursing field and you want to start with CNA, Manhattan Institute is the school for you ( night classes) 6pm to 9pm. She is stern and firm but she gets the job done.

This place deserves no stars. Warning you all...DO NOT GO HERE!!! I took a CNA course here and it was terrible. The textbook they have us was over 10 years old and had outdated information. I paid $1000 for this course and was left with more questions than answers. For the amount of money to pay for this crap four week course you think that they would have decent equipment. NOPE. Dirty equipment. Missing equipment. One of practice manaquins was missing a leg and completely falling apart. It was just a really bad experiance coming here. Do yourself a favor and find another school. Its better to spend a little more and get properly educated then saving money.

I am really upset and disappointed. I paid for my husband to take the CNA course and its coincidental that after making the last payment you start the practical skill part of training. Well, Manhattan Institute has absolutely NO SUPPLIES for the students to practice their skills. No sheets, towels, gloves, etc.. not even basins. He had to get together with the students of the class and practice their skills together and bring in their own supplies. When the instructor teaches it you are supposed to Imagine the supplies are on hand. Its ridiculous!! The only good side was that the instructor was good and by giving weekly exams it kept the students on task which is why I gave it two stars in my review. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Honestly I read the reviews before I enrolled and I thought even thought there were negative reviews I would still take the course. I enrolled in the combo classes (PEKG-$1400). I must honesty say this was the worst decision in my entire life. I regret it greatly. What a waste of money.1. Its the same content for the past 12 years. Nothing ever changes/ The same teachers, same work load and the same tests. People just used to come in late during the test, take a piece of paper out(cheat sheet), place it on the desk and copy whatever is on the cheat sheet to the test all in 5 mins. When we got our results back which is the same day they used to get 100%. Not fair at all to those of us who studied. Im not jealous after all I did get (95-98) on my tests by not cheating. Is it so hard to change the tests.2.Although the staff didnt give me a attitude they did give one to most of the other people which turned into arguments.3. If you think you will get a job after this, you will need to go back to where you came from. Six months after I contacted all my classmates through Facebook to see if anyone got a job. NO ONE DID!!!!!!!! The jobs they offered on the job site is only for nursing & medical assistants which they post 2 every 5 weeks.Would I recommend someone going there. HELL NO.
