My wife went to shop like every week, but this time the workers treat her so bad that she came crying to the car, the worst customer service, always trying to shop locally, but the worker even told her f..you, because she asked him why he was so rude, think twice, thats why people go to other places to shop, keep hiring idiot people.
Decent selection for fresh produce, but not so much for other types of goods. There are definitely essentials that they do not sell for some reason. Also, basically no one (employees or customers) wear masks here. Even during the height of the pandemic when the outside was plastered with “MUST WEAR A MASK TO ENTER” signs, people freely shopped without masks and employees did nothing to stop them. They weren’t wearing masks themselves. For that, shop at your own risk.
This is a regular market place but with much more then you’d expect! They have groceries fruits they have a bakery. They also have “restaurant food” meaning ready made dinner but, and it’s absolutely delicious! They also have sushi which is absolutely the best!!! It’s fresh and just absolutely the best! They have soups too!! -Which is amazing for someone who wants ready made super! and They have home supplies and a meat and dairy section and much more! I really recommend there. Prices are not so low though. But it’s not always too crowded and overwhelming. And it’s a really nice looking store too. I highly recommended this shop to shop in! There is also amazing customer service!!! And they do delivery! The location isn’t so bad just you probably won’t find parking there. But overall it’s an amazing store!
I love the Marketplace. They have everything I need. Many times I go do a big shop and then they deliver it to my home. And Marketplace has gotten really strict about enforcing a mask policy. Everyone is wearing a mask in their store now. Several times when I went they had an employee by the front door making sure that people who were coming in were wearing masks. And also their online deliveries are awesome if I dont want to leave home. Its so easy and convenient. Ordering online is super simple. They deliver right to your door. If you have any issues with your order, they are very cooperative in fixing it. Delivery is a great option to use with them if you dont want to go to the store.
The employees are five stars. The managers are despicable and will cost the business, especially the head chassidish guy. The market place had no problem holding on to $166, for who knows how many years, of mine. But could not handle waiting till I got home to give them a credit card number for $52.20. A kind not Jewish employee let me zelle her the money and she paid for it. That was so kind of her and she should be promoted to manager if this despicable place has any chance of turning around. From now on Ill spend my money at places that have at least some of the traits that yidden should have. Good luck!
Love this market! It’s very gourmet and well kept. The staff are friendly. The smell of bread is amazing. Everything is fresh and organized. They have a deli counter, a bakery, and a sushi station too! Prices are on the higher end.Unfortunately, mask-wearing isn’t enforced well. There are signs before entering that encourages it but almost half the store of customers were not wearing masks or trying to social distance when I went. The neighborhood, especially, isn’t diligent about mask wearing. Would probably limit my trips to this area until Covid dies down.
The Marketplace has all the Kosher provisions you will need as an observant Jew, from ready made gefilte fish, cholent, matzo ball soup & deli sandwiches at the takeout counter to bread, milk & everything in between. Lines are usually not long. Staff are pretty much like robots & theyre a little high end on many items compared to other kosher supermarkets but its very spacious & comfortable to shop there. They also have a massive selection of candy & snacks to keep the kids busy & quiet while you shop.
Great store I shop here all the time love the setup very convenientOnly reason I give 4 stars is the pricingI was recently in the store and bought a box of grapes that was marked $2.99 upon getting home a reviewing the receipt I realize that it was $2.99 per pound (I paid $9.81 for a box of grapes!!) just wish I paid more attention at the checkout I would have never purchased them.Just figured other shoppers should know and keep an eye outOtherwise enjoy their great service and cleanliness
They have a great selection of fresh baked delights. I definitely would recommend this to anyone whos looking to take their loved ones or partner for a little dessert. Their prices are fitting for the amount of what you get. A must go to place. Cheesecake was amazing.
This place is cleaner than the co-owned Empire Kosher and has a decent takeout. Their Shabbes salads are good. However, their service is absolutely LOUSY. The people working there are nasty, pushing their storage carts intentionally into you, while not letting you pass through the isles until they fill up the isle with their fruits and vegetables - all seem to be muttering under their breath. If you expect politeness and gratefulness that you are shopping there, youve come to the wrong store. The checkout cashiers have ZERO idea how to use their checkout equipment, and more often then not, they get stuck and woe is to the person that has to wait online when a checkout person gets stuck. The staff wouldnt move you to another line, you just have to wait a long time. One particular new cashier, a big red haired guy with a bushy beard wouldnt take my 3/4 empty cart when he opened the cash register and signaled to someone to go ahead of me, claiming I had too much stuff in my cart. So I had to wait behind a broken cashier. When I questioned him why he allowed others with MORE items than me through, and told me to wait on the other line, he ignored me. In disgust, I just left my cart there, and swore off going back, even though I live close by.Bottom line - DONT SHOP AT THE MARKETPLACE if you expect customer service and appreciation.
Ive been going to this store since it opened, and theyve always been very nice. The store is always clean and well-stocked, and the employees are very nice. I was particularly impressed by their response to COVID-19. They closed the main entrance and only were letting people in with gloves and a mask. Really excellent management.
Avoid at all costs. Overpriced, lousy service and mean baggers and cashiers who literally have their fingers up their noses during a global pandemic. There’s better kosher food to be found elsewhere at better prices. Typical Crown Heights faux-fancy. Wish I could give zero stars.
Be VERY careful when purchasing anything fresh from this store. Any produce needs to be checked thoroughly before purchase, they often sell expired or soon to be bad fruits and vegetables. Buyer beware. They regularly store food on the sidewalk when it is delivered. Do not trust anything purchased from this store.
This supermarket is very nice one. It has a large variety of products and variety of brands. It looks nice and is clean. The salad bar has - in my opinon - the best kosher ready to go salads in crown heights. Fresh, tasty and they dont go cheap on ingredients.Havent stoped here enough to say for the staff, but so far - so good.
Nov 2020 edit, this store stopped providing bags because of NYC outlawing plastic bags. They now charge $3.99 for a reusable bag and $0.50 for a box even when you opt for delivery. As a high end Kosher supermarket, its not classy to nickel and dime people. It just leaves me with a bad taste.(it would be ok to just raise the prices by 1% to cover the new cost)With that being said, I plan on moving all my shopping to Amazon Fresh and for Kosher meat to the new Kosher butcher on Troy.Out of all the Kosher grocery stories in Crown Heights, this place has the best selection. Its a bit pricey but that just something you get used to while shopping for Kosher food.My below review is still accurate so Ill leave it in place:If you arent Jewish, keep in mind that this supermarket is closed on all Jewish holidays and is super busy a day or two before. Theyre also closed about an hour or two before Shabbos (Friday afternoon) and closed on Shabbos (every Saturday)The deli department has exceptional food but is a bit pricey.Overall super friendly staff that are always there to help!
A beautiful shangri-la, weve got everything market. cool! aggressive and belittling customer service. not cool! theres too many other great markets nearby that are happy to offer friendly service to all of their customers. ...and my kids eats soo much! we shop for food constantly! all you had to do was be kind but you blew it! we wont come back.
This supermarket has a good variety of items but terrible customer service. Ive ordered online from them many times and they recently made a mistake of sending me an item I didnt order (deli sliced Pastrami) and charged me for it. When I called to request a refund for an item I DIDNT ORDER they said that they must pick up the item before issuing a refund (?!), so now I have to coordinate a pick up with them. They obviously cant resell this especially since its a kosher supermarket so I truly dont understand this approach. Really bad customer service here, will not be ordering from them anymore
They’re pretty okay for a Jewish supermarket, they definitely have a variety of products there to choose from and definitely some of the best qualities. The only problem is they’re a little bit overpriced. For examples sample items like broccoli and parsley would cost an arm and a leg there but you’ll find much better broccoli someplace else for cheaper price.
Worst customer service. They leave things on the shelves way past their expiration. Just bought their baked goods that was a few weeks old. A few days can be a mistake. A few weeks and still on the shelf is a business model. Hoping people wil still buy and be too lazy to bring it back. Its stealing. They should be ashamed of themselves. When I pointed it out, they even refused to remove the items from the shelf. Probably still waiting to bought.
Taking advantage of the community pandemic COVID-19.We are older couple, and have used their delivery for 3 years. All of the sudden they increase prices, and increase minimum from 100 to 200 (=too much for us).Now that we need to stay home - they unexpectedly shut their service to us, so that they could earn a few more dollars from the pandemic.
Ive ordered from them for delivery on two separate occasions. Both turned into hassles. I would never deal with them again. In both cases they delivered defective items, actually broken bottles. The first time around, after several tries, I was able to get their customer service and got a credit. The second time around I had a hard time getting their customer service, sent them a message on their support system, got no reply. Eventually got their customer service on the phone and arranged for them to pick up the bottles next time they were delivering to my neighborhood. The bottles were picked up, but a credit never showed up on my charge card bill. I filed a dispute with the charge card company.
Online order system has poor customer service.*One time they overcharged my credit card $200 ! When I called them they said that the cashier made a mistake blah blah blah.*Another time on Friday morning their online system was not working properly and my order came in 8:01 AM (past the 8:00 deadline). They refused to deliver the order the same day.*Most of my credit cards get declined when I try to use the website.*A few times they sent spoiled items. You could forget about ever getting a refund or replacement no matter how many times you call.
It was a pleasure shopping in your store today even on a busy Thursday. The packer packed my stuff so professionally keeping fridge stuff seperate from dry goods. I was not going home right away so they kept my stuff in the fridge/freezer and I got everything delivered after 5 just like I asked them to, right in time for making dinner. Thank you!
Dont trust their advertised specials! On multiple occasions they did not stock the products. Its always one excuse after another; either it ran out or didnt come in. Not only that, but they intentionally leave the signs up next to similar products, misleading customers! On one occasion I saw a sign for a special on cream, with price included but with brand-name ripped off. Manager says they ran out and had no plans to get any more. When asked why misleading sign was still posted, answered that they didnt want people to think they were being tricked! They dont give rain checks either. Everything here is so overpriced, the only point in coming is for the few decent specials, if they wont honor them, dont shop there, go somewhere else!
My jewish friend brought me here one day for lunch, I wasnt expecting much because it looked like a supermarket. But once inside you can see they have variety of food, so much that I didnt know what to pick. Everythin is kosher, makes it a little expensive, but definetly worth it.
They screwed up on delivery, and then when I come to exchange my spoiled products, they tell me its my fault but they will still give me new stuff. Thats disgusting service, and they didnt even offer to deliver the new products. If I had an option, I would go to a different store.

2022-01-10The Market Place is a great place for fresh produce! Theyre usually fully stocked with somewhat fair prices. The managers/supervisors are polite and helpful. However, the cashiers are absolutely disgusting. Even if you approach their register with kindness they are quick to roll their eyes, throw your items and your receipt. They need training in professionalism. Its unfortunate because this is a great market.

2021-12-29Marketplace is great for getting everything you need in one store. Its nice too, to have a delivery option (although its not very fast, but understandably due to the number of orders they likely receive) which makes it easy to get everything you need right from your home! Yes, things are a little expensive but theyre cheaper than other stores nearby. Best grocery store to in Crown Heights for your everyday needs.

2019-09-19I went into this place and I was about to cry. Seriously. After being in places that aren’t shomer kashrut for the past month, I got really emotional when I asked and people that were shopping told me that the whole store is glatt.I know that what I bought doesn’t seem like a lot, but I can deal with the rest of the products besides these. I got Pat Yisrael bread(finally) and glatt meats.I should have made time in my schedule to get here sooner. In conclusion, EXPENSIVE but KOSHER.Happy customer 😀.

2022-04-21Don’t do your shopping for Passover on their app! We applied the filter “Passover Store” and they sold us non kosher for Passover food, including the matzot! Also, they delivered expired milk and their customer support is not responding.
