The Melting Pot in other cities:
I love this place. We only go on special occasions. We went for our anniversary. Plan on being there for at least 2 hours. The staff was great. Stephanie our server was so friendly and helpful. My husband called ahead and paid extra for the rose petals on the table. It was a nice touch
Absolutely awful experience. Would rate below 1 star if I could. The food quality was great however the service was horrible. The kitchen closed halfway through our meal without any warning from our server and we were left without the ability to order additional fondue. I also had the unfortunate experience of seeing an employee exit the restroom without washing their hands which is so disgusting. They went straight from a stall to leaving. That could cause sickness. I brought this up to another employee over the phone after our meal and was ignored.Hopefully anyone reading this will take their money and appetite to any of the other nearby restaurants. I will never return here nor would I recommend this place to anyone I know.
My husband and I have loved coming here for years, but due to several circumstances hadn’t returned in about two years. I want to make clear that the food and server are the reasons for the star rating being as good as it was. I’ll also add that for those like us who haven’t been in a bit, while it’s not necessarily a bad thing, this restaurant is a lot more causal than it used to be. The prices have not changed to reflect the more “casual dining” versus “special occasion experience,” which had me internally eye rolling a bit (ie. If I’m paying +$100 on a meal for two, not counting drinks, I don’t want to hear the same music I’d hear while grocery shopping. Not exactly a romantic date night.)
Everything was great, except the hostess. She told me they were completely booked for the night and could not take us, then I went online and they had reservations available all night. Seemed like she just didn’t want to deal with it. Otherwise the food was amazing and waitress was as friendly.
It was my first time here, and I loved it! My girlfriend brought me here for date night and it blew my socks off. They have 4 courses, starting with cheese, followed by salad, then entree, and dessert. A dinner for two comes at about $100, or you can order a la carte. Theres also a deluxe meal that costs a little more, but we tried to stick with the $100.We loved everything so much we didnt stick with the $100, we got the extra charcuterie board with the cheese and a cheesecake dessert.Madeline, the manager was very nice and came to check on us since it was my first time. Dani our server was so nice, she had good recommendations for everything, and made both amazing cocktails and hilarious B99 references.
My wife and I have been here a number of times, usually for special occasions. We have never had a bad experience - the food and service are always outstanding. Cant recommend them enough, theyre just that good. My only wish is that we had a Melting Pot closer to home!!
I highly recommend going here!!! My boyfriend took me here for a late Valentines day dinner date, and omgggg it was absolutely the most incredible, romantic dinner date Ive ever been on.So many choices and just the expierence itself was so awesome. Very romantic cozy atmosphere. The food was really good. I left sooo full. I loved every min of this place and Ive been telling all my friends about it since we went. Dont knock it till you try it seriously!!!
I ordered online through the website’s ordering service for Valentine’s Day weekend. The website said i would have the meal ready for 7:00 pm on the 12th when I booked it, but when I came in to claim my meal (over $150) I was greeted with some of the rudest and most condescending service in years; and at such an expensive restaurant, I felt insulted. No one greeted me or said anything until 3 employees had completely disregarded me; and when noticed the hostess walked away after I asked for my meal. She then came back with who I assume is the manager, a blonde haired bearded man. He was extremely on edge and short with me, and told me I was wrong about my order and cutting my sentences short. He gave me attitude and questioned me about my email received in a condescending matter and seemingly was attempting to embarrass and shut me down. Even if I was incorrect and somehow missed the date, I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over 5 years; and to spend over $150, I should be getting better customer service than that of a fast food restaurant. This has been the worst treatment I have ever received here and it has turned me off from the idea of coming back soon. I hope you are explaining the importance of how you treat customers to hosts before sending them out to represent you, especially managers. Very disappointed and will be canceling my order.
Great food and a great second experience at a Melting Pot restaurant. Our server - Courtney - was very friendly and helpful with the somewhat complex ordering process and the restaurant manager checked on us at one point, which is always a nice touch. Great meal before a long drive back to VT. The only reason they aren’t getting 5 stars is the host girl was miserable and acted like our presence was an inconvenience to her because it meant she had to get up and seat us.
My wife brought me here! My very first time. We had a secluded area, she requested rose petals on the table. So romantic. Our food was amazing, our waitress was fantastic and very thorough. Wish I knew her name to give recognition too. The Cesars salad was so delicious.. I Never knew boiled meat would be so tasty. The drinks were mmmm to die for. And dessert.. Well lets just say I took them home with me 🤷😜 Definitely a great time.. I will return.
The food was fantastic. At first you think that small amount will never fill you up...but looks are deceiving! The meat was super fresh and very good. The fondue pot was fun.The dessert was absolutely amazing...wish we could have tried all of them. Our waitress went above and beyond to give superb service. Very friendly, extremely attentive. She was top notch. The only downside is the price. Very pricey. Especially considering you cook it yourself.
As always, an amazing experience.Opting to celebrate the day a little late, my partner and I stopped in to Melting Pot to take advantage of their Valentines Day special menu.We arrived ahead of our reservation and enjoyed a cocktail at the bar. We were seated early at a table in the bar area. I do prefer the tables in the main dining area because they tend to be a little quieter and I prefer not to have the distraction of the televisions during a special meal, and Im positive that if Id asked for it they would have accommodated, so I have no complaints about where we were seated. Our server was Danny (sp?) who was pulling double duty as bartender, but she did well keeping us topped off and taken care of. The food was delicious as always, and my partner was delighted by the novelty of fondue, having never been here before.Reservations strongly recommended. You can spend $50 a head easily here, plus drinks, as we did tonight, or stop in just for a cheese fondue and drink, or even as a dessert treat after a meal at home and spend far less.
Kind of a weird experience. My friend and I were looking for a place for lunch after a day of shopping and saw the melting pot. We dont really have anything similar where we are from so we thought to give it a shot.We decided to go for a la cart only since we arent big sweets people, and eating a pot of cheese before a long drive didnt seem ideal, and each ordered one of the main dishes, I chose the Land and Sea and he chose the meat lovers. We opted for the Cast Iron Skillet for our cooking method, since dipping seasoned meats into liquid just seems odd (to be fair it could be delicious) - the issue was the amount of time it took to cook the meat on the cast iron. This part was not explained at all - in fact the little card on the table suggested that it should take 1-2 minutes to cook a piece of steak, where it actually took closer to 5-10 minutes to get to a medium doneness, if you had the meat in the centre of the pan. A shrimp ideally would take 2-3 minutes to cook, whereas it took about 10 minutes to cook.We asked if we could have the heat turned up a bit and were told that if it was any higher the restaurant would fill with smoke, since they dont have ventilation for such cooking. The portion size for $26-$30 was actually quite small - 4 cubes of steak, 3 of chicken, 4 of salmon, and 3 shrimps (for $26 if I can remember properly). They are accompanied by some raw veggies (mushrooms, zucchini, potato) of which we could only cook the zucchini, the potato came out raw and with the lack of heat on the pan, it would have taken like 30 minutes to cook it - we gave up after 15 minutes with the potato in the centre of the pan.As far as service goes, it wasnt great either. If youre going to charge a lot of money for small portions, at least have stellar service. Had to ask passing staff a few times to get our server for us.I might return at some point in the future with my partner as a cheese fanatic, hoping for better service.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Last time I was here it was me and my boyfriend we sat in a normal booth across from one another we had the best service ever. We decided to eat there after shopping at the mall. One friend was meeting us. We arrived about 5 minutes before the third friend arrived. They would not sit us at a booth until one person arrived. There was about 4 tables seated in the entire place. We nicely asked if we could sit, that our third person will be there momentarily. They took that as there was only 2 people and put us at the farthest smallest curved booth in the back. We asked if we could get a normal booth because that’s not enough room for three people. As we said that our friend arrived in the front and said he’s with the 3 party for joe they told him “there’s only a reservation for two now and that he could not go back there”. We proceeded to tell the girl Madeline while we were still in the back (unaware they said the third person can’t come back) if we could have a normal booth seat. We asked who the manager was and she said it was her. We then said how we didn’t like how we were getting treated and the attitude and the service we received. She replied back something along the lines of “okay, are you going to sit down or not” no apology no sympathy for being treated that way from the manger. So we walked out and ate next door at P.F CHANGS. Had the best service. We will not be returning, all three of us ever again. Or putting any money into the establishment ordering food ever again. I never write reviews but with that said I’ve never had that type of treatment at a restaurant from an employee let alone a manger of the establishment.
I just want to start off by saying that this place has the best customer service!I made my reservations online through their website. There was a section to add in a special request so I wanted to see if The Melting Pot had a sense of humour. I requested a framed photo of Ryan Gosling be placed at our table. The Melting Pot delivered! They actually gave us a framed photo of Ryan Gosling, and in such a nice frame that we were able to keep!We chose to have the spinach and artichoke cheese fondue to start. The cheese course included veggies and breads, which was really delicious but messy. For our entree, we chose the mojo broth which is a Caribbean inspired broth with hints of citrus and garlic. I ordered the classic for my meats but was allowed to substitute the shrimp for extra chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious. For the final course we chose the smores chocolate fondue. They brought out various treats to dip into the fondue and again, everything was delicious!I will definitely be back.Keep in mind that you should definitely make reservations for this place if you want to eat here! They get filled up fast!
Great food with a vegetarian entree option. Their 4 course meal is probably too big for most people. We did two course and it was quite filling. Would go back to try other cheese fondues but there is only one vegetarian entree though it can be done in different broths
This is so close to being 5 star. The cost could be more affordable, which is why I give it 4.We did a 4 course meal:-Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Fondue (included breads and veggies) LOVED it !-Salads with ranch dressing. I’m not a huge salad person but these where delicious.-Chicken & filet entrees in a COQ AU VIN style broth. (Included about 5 pieces of meat per type and an assortment of veggies) This was probably my least favorite. The meats where pre seasoned and I could have cared less for.-Chocolate and crunchy peanut butter fondue for dessert (included sponge cake, Rice Krispies, strawberries, bananas, pineapple waffles, brownies and cookies, Oreo crusted marshmallows) This was my FAVORITE part, however we where too full to eat it. Fortunately though they can package the fondue and dippers up. Which by the way, the chocolate melts perfectly in a microwave.
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary yesterday 9/5/21. We had a wonderful meal with an amazing waitress who was attentive and kind. When paying we presented the gift card we had received as a gift from my mother in law. The manager came over, entered the e card number into his computer and told us that because it was not working it was fraudulent. We were shocked and confused. He explained it would not work and we would have to pay the full amount. After some pushback and a call to my mother in law who had purchased the gift certificate we came to find out that the manager had entered the numbers in wrong. I can completely understand that happening but he was about to make us pay for a meal that was already half paid for. He chose to use the word fraudulent instead of finding another solution or explanation. The fact that we were the only people of color in the restaurant at the time was what I’d assume as an awkward coincidence. Waitress and food were amazing. Manager could use some customer service training at best.
The novelty was fun, but really the only aspect that was enjoyable. We had a 7:30 reservation. We were there until almost 10:00! For $116, the portions were a bit underwhelming and service was ok at best. Our server was fairly new, so I was ok that she didnt have answers to my questions, but it took several visits back to our table to supply the answers because she forgot to ask. So meh say best.
Slightly dissatisfied. My husband and I went Friday night at 7 for our reservations as it was our 2nd wedding anniversary l, under the last name Vega. Our food was good, except our waiter hardly came to the table, and wouldn’t make eye contact, he seemed annoyed and like he was rushing us while we still had food on our platters to cook, dip, etc. which was super disappointing. He came back to the table maybe twice, when the table next to us had a female server and she was going over there to make sure they had their drinks full etc. my husband sat for a little bit with an empty drink, until he finally returned. The whole four course meal seemed rushed and we got the $99 four course meal. My husband and I willBe back, but we both agreed that the waiter really killed the atmosphere. We don’t get to go out a lot as we have two young babies, but besides the waiter everything was good, we still tipped him 15 percent because we felt bad to not leave a tip, but it was not good service.
I just wanted to acknowledge the absolutely amazing service we were provided by our waitress Danny. She was kind, friendly, personable and made our experience that much better. She answered any and all questions we had, made us laugh and put the cherry on top of our evening. She is honestly the best waitress I have had thus far in the many times I have dined at this location. Please acknowledge her great efforts, she deserves it!
Our server, Madison C, was absolutely amazing! She made our date night 100x more fun! I cannot give her enough props. She was so sweet and made my partner and I feel so welcomed. The food was amazing (I personally recommend the steak lovers entree and smores chocolate fondue)! Its worth every penny. Well definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I were here on Tuesday. We do date night once a week. Tonight we decided to go to this establishment. Neither of us had ever been here before. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome when we walked in the door. Our server Bryan who was with his trainee, I’m sorry I forgot her name. Both were absolutely AMAZING!! Explained the menu because we were a little confused. Gave us some wonderful recommendations!!! We did the Four Course Dinner For Two. First Course~ We had the Wisconsin Cheddar Fondue ( it took a little while for it to heat thoroughly, was FANTASTIC when fully heated) , For our Second Course ~ I had the Strawberry Spinach Salad probably the best salad I have ever eaten. He had the Ceasar , For our Third Course~ We had the Land and Sea and Pacific Rim and For our Fourth Course ~Dessert~ We had the Dark and Dulce for someone who doesn’t eat chocolate that often, this was Amazing!!! …. He also had an Old Fashion and I had the Melting Pot Mule so good!!! Everything was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! We will definitely be back!!!
Drove over an hour due to Rochesters location closing and it was the worst experience my partner and I have had. We have dined at The Melting Pot before but not this location. The food and our server Annie B were amazing however the staff, other than Annie, were very unprofessional. There was one younger woman singing to the songs that were playing but in a way that was disturbing. When she would talk to other employees, she would yell and again, disrupt the romantic evening it was supposed to be. Paid almost $200 for a meal when the servers were childish. There was another gentleman who kept messing with Annie while she was at our table. The location of our seat was terrible, had to use my coat as a blanket because it was freezing. I did mention this to the manager and after doing so, it was almost as if all of the employees were aware because we had multiple come over right after Annie (our server) had just left. I did make Annie aware my complaint was not about her at all. She did make up for it and provided us with an extra side of desserts but someone needs to be aware of the unprofessional and disruptive atmosphere we encountered on Valentine’s Day Evening. Our reservations were at 9pm. You should be able to see who was working and who it might be. The manager did not do anything, while explaining to him he looked as if he did not care and it was not a serious matter. She still continued to be disruptive after complaining. Very sad and disappointing because we love this place and will not travel again if nothing is changed. This is clearly not the first completing of this. Again, ANNIE WAS AMAZING, we loved her.
******* Id like to update this review. A second chance was given to redo our gfs birthday and they outdid themselves. Our server, Bryan was very knowledgeable, friendly helpful and attentive to us. He made our experience over the top!! He gives you a wonderful Melting Pot experience. Timing was on que for every course.. Our drinks were delicious and so was everything else. Cheese Fondue, salad and the chocolate were amazing! Enough Dunkirk were given for the three of us and no issues for the few extra we asked for. We all had an amazing time, our gf was given a jelly birthday plate and was made to feel special. Im very excited to return for my birthday coming up in a few weeks!! SO SCRATCH BELOW, everyone has an off day. Treated sub par by our server. Was our gfs birthday and didnt acknowledge with anything even when ALL patrons around us received a jelly plate with Happy birthday or Happy BFFF day. We were the only table that didnt get one. Felt we were bothering her for anything we asked for, felt judges for whatever reason. Was very hurtful. Manager wasnt very nice either. Wont go back! WE WENT BACK AND WILL GO AGAIN AND AGAIN! 🍾🥂❤🎉
We have gone here several times and its always been a pleasure but we went on Feb 15th for a day after Valentines Day dinner and it was a phenomenal time! Our server was Brittany who was absolutely outstanding and we actually knew the manager Tyler from a restaurant he worked at previously. We were treated with outstanding respect and service! The food is delicious! Danni the bartender made great drinks and the entire evening was absolutely perfect! I recommend everyone try this location and I promise you will not regret it and will definitely be making plans to return very soon!! Thank you so much for a great time Melting Pot!!
We love the Melting Pot. It has always been our special occasion place. We went last night for the first time in over a year and we will never be back. Service was slow, restaurant needs to be dusted. Order was wrong. All these things can be attributed to one bad night, but the reason we will never be back is because the prices have been raised over the value of the food/experience. Prices have always been on the higher end, but totally worth it for what you get. Prices have been raised about 20% and portion sizes shrank. Not happy and not going back.
Decided to try this place since my aunt had rave reviews! If you have an indecisive personality I would recommend looking at the menu prior to traveling to the restaurant. We loved the cheese and chocolate fondue yet believe we couldve done without the entree. Its definitely good but the $46/per person price is steep. I would definitely recommend going Tuesdays when fondue is 2 for 1 and skip the entree. Overall the taste was amazing and I definitely plan on returning.
We went for the ladies night special they offered in January on Thursdays. The drinks were excellent and food was so good. The special price is very worth it, $21.95 for Cheese fondue, salad and chocolate fondue and certain drinks were $6 (see pic). We did not have a reservation so we sat at the bar and ate. The bartender was so nice, she was super busy but always acknowledged us and kept our food and drinks coming with very little delay. I would totally go again even without the special.
My favorite restaurant!! Drove over an hour to come here for dinner since they shut down the Rochester location :( but this was by far the best experience Ive had yet. Our Server Madz didnt skip a beat with the courses and was super friendly and professional, as was the rest of the staff who approached our table. Food was delicious as always. Thanks for the awesome service Madz : )
It’s our favourite place to go as Canadians day tripping over the border. The have the very best staff and always great food. During the current global pandemic, they sent out an email on how to replicate some of their fan favourites at home with regular kitchen pots and pans. Turned out fabulous. Made for a fun evening with the kids. This was a beautiful gesture for their patrons. We will definitely be back for the real thing. ❤️
My hubby and I come here for almost all our anniversaries and birthdays .. Sometimes just because. We love the whole experience of cooking our food together. Fondue is great because it gives you the opportunity to talk more with the people you are with. We always say we should have just had the cheese fondue and salad because we are almost full by the main course and you kind of have to get through that to get to the best part - the chocolate. It is so much gooood food. The wait staff is so kind and personable. Very friendly. The manager always walks around and personally checks on things. I like the tall booths and the little tucked away tables - it makes for an intimate experience.
FIRST OFF, our server, Cordelia, provided the absolute best service my family and I have ever had. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel at home. Now, onto the rest: I had an amazing time here. The kitchen was very accommodating of my gluten allergy and provided substitutes for almost all of their gluten-containing items, especially for the desserr course. I cant recommend this place enough!
Loved this place. Super interactive for everyone you take. Very unique and fun dining experience. Im also vegan and this has been one of the most accommodating restaurants in the area. Many vegan options on their menu and they had an entire 4 course vegan dinner for the Valentines event I attended. Thank you for making me feel included on a night out, that doesnt happen very often with my diet.
I have been here many times with great service, so I was stunned that lunch today was an exception. The restaurant was pretty empty and 2 servers were on the floor. I saw only one other couple dining. They were in and out in an hour. My sister and I had the female server and ordered the power lunch, which indicated we would be out in a timely manner. Not so. We arrived at 12:05 and left at 2:45. I finally had to hunt down the other server to get our leftovers wrapped to go. We asked to speak to a manager but one never came. Usually they circulate. In addition to long waits for the server between every course, our drinks were never replenished, no fresh black pepper on our salads, but she was there every 2 minutes once the check came. I was not impressed by her, the service or the nonappearance of a manager during all of that time, even when requested. We deserved much better!
Me and my boyfriend had an amazing experience here tonight !! Our server was a younger man who was so attentive and wonderful!! Also the manager Brian came over and checked on us was great. The food is so fresh and out of this world good . Very interactive experience I recommend this to anyone who loves great food . It was fun to cook and dip all the foods it was nothing I ever experienced before ... very dim mellow atmosphere was romantic as well 😘 we will be back thank you !!!! 😁 you guys were great !!!!
I almost always have an outstanding dining experience here, the servers are typically very close what you would encounter at a fine dining restaurant despite this being a chain. On occasion I will sit at the bar and just get drinks and cheese fondue, the bartenders are not all as attentive as the servers. Overall I enjoy the food and the experience and most of the time the service.
Always a great time here. Service is very friendly and attentive. My husband and I decided to have a spontaneous date night, we showed up and the host asked if we were celebrating anything, we said random date night. They gave us a private, secluded booth and a champagne toast with dessert. Food is fantastic! Highly recommended!
This was my first time here, and to say I was impressed is an understatement. The food is fresh, with lots of gluten free options-as well as low carb. Our waiter was amazing-super attentive, but not annoyingly present, and the atmosphere was happy, buzzing and nice-casual.I would for sure go here again!
Listen the place is pretty; But don’t ever think I’m cooking my own food for $46.78 . Was a beautiful experience but if i wanted to cook my own food i would have stayed home! I’m not sure i over stood what was going on. But if i wanted to cook my own food i would have stayed home and cooked. I can’t stress this enough. I traveled 35 minutes to get there; i spend 10 minutes trying to find it. Walked through the restaurant smelling yummy food just to sit down and be told i have to cook my own food! Never again.
One of the best restaurants Ive been to in buffalo. Great atmosphere and extremely friendly service. Our waiter was Blase, he knew a lot about everything on the menu and made excellent recommendations. In my opinion, the portions are rather large (my girlfriend and I shared a 4 course meal meant for 1 person, and still couldnt finish everything) I highly recommend The melting pot as a great date locale.
The Melting Pot was not just a dinner. It was an experience. I came with my wife, and as our first time, all the staff was incredibly helpful with assisting us in understanding the menu and how things worked. The food was wonderful, the people were great, the mood was fantastic. If you are the type of person who doesnt mind paying a little more for something that is unique, or an experience, then I absolutely suggest you go here at least once in your life. In total, our bill rallied $130 for two people, but we did not, nor do we now, regret our decision. The experience, food, and our time spent was well worth the money.
Hands down the best service I have seen. The Staff was wonderful and Friendly and made for a fabulous dining experience. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Our waitress was Zaria and she was very helpful and made excellent recommendations. We will return and ask for her to help us again
Had a great time as a fun date night to shake things up. Boyfriend seemed to enjoy the dipping process but wasn’t a fan of the cheese dips flavor. I had a really good time and the salad I had was quite delicious. We went for the restaurant week special and it was definitely not worth the price for the food but it was fun to go somewhere different for a date night instead of our usual places. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere fun to go for a date or quiet dinner but definitely won’t fill you up, or be cheap. Would not recommend for a frequent date night spot as it would not be nearly as charming. Still fun and would definitely recommend going at least once for the full four course meal!
Usually the melting pot is pretty good. This time around only saw the waitress maybe 3 times. That was for order of drinks and food, delivery and check. Never once asked if we needed another drink or refill. No water and had to search for own utensils. Now Ive had good experiences but this time around I did not.
Although quite pricey, it provides a excellent dining experience with family and friends. Every appetizer , main meal and desert can be spiced up depending on what you order. You also get to cook some of the food yourself like meats and cheese. It’s always fun to go here, especially for birthday parties.
Excellent as always. Its a long dinner experience but the food is delicious at a level most restaurants cant match. I also appreciate the fact that they gave me a free meal for college graduation. The staff is always friendly and the chicken potstickers are a delight.
We had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and we loved that it was prepared right in front of us! Our waitress Jasmine was so funny and entertaining, she even refilled our drinks without us having to ask; what a mind reader! We will definitely be back for more delicious turtle chocolate!
The food quality was good and the selection of food items, although confusing was also quite good. In addition, the staff were very accommodating. That being said, for what you get the price is way too high. I could have gone to a 5 star eatery and had dinner for less. If Im going to pay that much I want to be amazed at the food quality or be satisfied and no longer hungry. The Melting Pot didnt meet any of those conditions for me. Been there, done it, wont be back.
Love coming to Melting Pot with my girlfriends!! Its a great place to socialize and relax in a great atmosphere. The food is amazing (especially the cheese and pretzel bread) and the service is spot on. Never have to search and hunt down a server for a drink. Would definitely come back.
This was our first time coming to The Melting Pot. We had a very delicious dinner here just before leaving for vacation. We ordered 2 adult meals and split it between my husband and myself and our 2 kids. There was more than enough food. We all loved it. The broth with the cilantro in it for cooking our meat was outstanding. For dessert we recommend the caramel banana one and the smores. We devoured them!
They offer great gluten-free bread and dipping plates for the cheese and chocolate fondues. Most of the menu is gluten free or can be done gluten-free, which is awesome.Service is always good and I love the high booths that feel very intimate and private for dates or groups. The Yin & Yang chocolate is my favorite (white and dark swirled together) and Ive enjoyed all of the cheese fondues that Ive tried. Salads are also very good.Dipping your food is just plain fun, and I love the variety of veggies, meats, fruits and desserts for dipping.
Man this place was amazing my girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary, and from the first phone call to set a reservation they automatically ask if our reservation was for anything special, to our waitress Logan made the two of us feel sooo special. The place they had us seated was sooo personal and private and lovely!!! Oooh they even left us a card wishing us happiness for our anniversary! .. next day at work I bragged to everyone how amazing the two of us thought this place to be!!!
The first time my partner and I ever ate here was incredible. Tonight was not. We spent over 3 AND A HALF HOURS here when we should have been in and out at a reasonable time. It took 45 minutes alone for a cheese refill. We also were served by seven different waiters who seemed to be scrambling all over the place. The second pot of cheese had so much booze in it, it was not edible! Someone who was there after us even left long before us! To make matters worse when splitting the check (we had a party of 5) somehow the 2 on one ended up paying for everyones drinks! Thats absurd! We didnt stay to argue because we just wanted to go home after this blah dining experience.
We came here for our anniversary a few months ago and noticed that the food quality wasn’t what we came to expect here. The owner contacted us and we went back this past weekend. Once again the food quality was lacking. Not all of our bread but a few pieces in the bread bowl tasted stale and the fruit with the chocolate was not very good. However, their I believe it is graham cracker covered marshmallows are very good. We used to love coming here but I do not think we will be back. After what we are paying for subpar food the last several visits it is just not worth it.
Went for the Mothers day special. It was our 2nd visit. The gluten free options are wonderful and the bananas foster chocolate fondue is AMAZING. If it wouldnt burn me I would have licked the bowl it was so good. The bees tea drink is delicious and the gluten free bread for the cheese course is moist and holds up well. The salad was fresh and well dressed. The entree course was good but you definitely dont need it to complete the experience. Pricey but worth it.
We enjoyed a fantastic meal at the Melting Pot, which we always do!! Our server, Alex (20006) was outstanding. He went out of his way for our experience!! If you havent gone, try it, its a must! The delicious fondue cheese, salad, cool drinks and chocolate fondue really hit the spot!
Our first time here was not the greatest experience. Upon arrival the entrance smelled of unclean bathroom. This was also the case for the actual bathrooms and this really didnt help our appetites. The food and server were good, however we felt as if the menu could have been explained a little better. Since it was our first time we didnt realize the appetizer price was per person so didnt feel that 20 dollars for artichoke dip was worth it. If we hadnt already purchased a groupon we probably wouldnt have stayed after walking in to such a bad smell. Hope they clean better in the future.
Its expensive. Lets start with a night out here you will feel it. You better be bumping uglies with whoever you bring here. If youre bringing a first date here their should be no reason why it wouldnt end in a good time. ;). The portion sizes are fair. The food quality is the best part about it absolutely outrageous quality. The people there are awesome. Have never had a bad server not a once. They all are great. Its a great experience youre just paying VERY well for that experience. My best way to explain it is this is the fondue equivalent of the rainforest Cafe. In both places you are primarily paying for the experience. Overall highly recommend. Try one of thier signature drinks youll love them. Yin yang martini will make your date wet herself in chocolate and that is step 1. You will love this place as much as I love my pet frog named Mr. GoodTickles.
While the food was good and the service was OK, our table was in a terrible location. We were in the far back corner of the restaurant and all we could see were walls. Because of the awkward positioning of the table, we both had to reach all the way across our table with raw food, passing over the dipping sauces, etc, in order to reach the cooking medium. Also due to the confines of our table, there was little climate control, so the area was very warm and stuffy. Not the best experience for my wifes birthday dinner.
My boyfriend and I went here for a romantic date night and had a wonderful time! The food was delicious and I would really recommend getting the 4 course option because all of the courses were delighful. Our waitress was polite and attentive without being overbearing. We left feeling quite full and satisfied. I cant wait to go back again.
First time at The Melting Pot and it was fantastic!! Luckily we got Dani and she was amazing!! The Wisconsin cheese was so good! I got the potstickers and those were awesome with the green goddess sauce. The pure milk chocolate was great. I cant wait to go again and hope I get someone as good as Dani.
First timer and I was not impressed. I came, I saw, I went and will not be back. I liked the food presentation although everything is portioned controlled so dont go here expecting to get full unless you pay for the expensive 3 or 4 course meal - starting @ $23.95 pp. Paid $6 for a measly salad I could have prepared @ home for less or got a lot more somewhere else. Overall the food was tasty lots of options to choose from and the place has a nice ambience. I guess I was expecting more or something different.
I was disappointed. I went for dinner but the amount of food you get is so little we had to go for second dinner afterwards. The experience was very nice though and seeing my husband cook was literally a once in a lifetime thing because were never coming back to Melting Pot. Not worth the money.
Great restaurant, the endless fondue was a really good value, only a couple dollars more than the 4-course afternoon meal. The teriyaki beef and shrimp are SO good.... and basically after you finish eating your chocolate dippers you just end up eating the rest of the chocolate with a spoon 🤣🤣🤣
So disappointed and shocked in service & management! We came for dinner on Sept 29th to celebrate our anniversary. Our cheese fondue was cold in spite of being heated up in the pot for an hour! We asked our waiter, Justin, several times what could be wrong, if it was the burner perhaps, and just kept getting put off with long gaps before he came back to check on us. After an hour it was clear that the cheese would not heat up. We asked waiter if we could try another cheese. Our waiter said he had taken the temperature of the cheese in the kitchen and it was just fine. He did give us another cheese and that was equally cold and wouldn’t heat. We asked for our order to be canceled as we were not interested in eating cold food. The manager then came out and rather than try to problem solve what could be the issue, offered to charge us only for our drinks (I hadn’t touched mine & my hubby had drank his). We asked if another table would have a proper burner and maybe if we moved tables? But the manager said there was no problem with the heating and he would ‘investigate’ after we left. Never have I ever had contact with a manager who didn’t at least try to actually rectify an issue with a meal. The manager just seemed like he didn’t want to be bothered with any customer service, so we left. He didn’t offer us a coupon or any other type of compensation that would have at least shown some good faith. I don’t usually write reviews, but felt we really needed to express how shocked and disappointed we were with our service and management at the Melting Pot Buffalo.
A little complex and pricey, but the food, service and ambiance were great. Prepare yourself for a unique experience and enjoy it. Dip your starters and desserts in fondue (cheese or chocolate) and cook your own entrees at the table in broth. When you know and accept what youre getting yourself into, you can really enjoy the experience
This place is so fun! Its quite expensive but definitely worth it for the delightful fondue experience. Even if you only ever go once, I highly suggest it. The staff is wonderful and very helpful if you have any questions. Id say its great for a date night or a family dinner.
Justin was hands down one of the best servers that Ive ever came across. His friendly and kind hearted energy made my visit perfect and Im able to say that this is absolutely a 5 star restaurant. He explained everything in such great detail. I visited this restaurant for my anniversary and I loved how when we got our last meal, Justin came back with a plate that stated Happy Anniversary in strawberry jelly with a heart shaped rice crisp treat and a candle to finish our night. I would recommend Justin to anyone, this gentleman is very caring and he definitely loves his job and is not afraid to show it. He definitely makes sure that his customers have the best experience that they possibly can. Thank you Melting Pot and a huge thank you to Justin
Madison was our server and she was awesome! She mentioned that she was new, but I would have never guessed, had she not mentioned it. It made her even more impressive. We, my fiancee and I, visited during the endless fondue event. I felt as though I was being difficult in my ordering, by requesting 3 different servings of cheese and then requesting only Filet for me and only Teriyaki for the fiancee, but Madison didnt bat an eye. She made us feel as though we were her only table that night. A quick glance would show that we very clearly werent her only guests and that she was quite busy. We were stuffed to the brim and we couldnt possibly eat chocolate, so we requested to do it another day and after speaking with the manager (Jim?), she came back with vouchers for use at a later date. Madison is the epitome of excellent customer service. Keep her around. Thank You, Madison. Thank You, Melting Pot Buffalo.
Terrific food and atmosphere. Can be expensive. Look for Groupons. Great place for friends, plenty of time to talk and have fun.The sesame crusted ahi is scrumptious. You choose how long you cook your stuff so when you get it right its PERFECT. Come with an empty stomach. Fantastic veggie offerings. Wide variety of yummy dipping sauces- Green Godess
Excellent food. We got the artichoke fondue, the chicken and vegetable pot stickers and chocolate smores.. Everything was great.. Except the service.. It took away all our attention from the food.. The server barely looked at us when she gave us the menus. She never gave a smile.. She was banging stuff all over when picking up our plates.. This was our second time here and we dint have this problem the first time..
I have been to many melting pot restaurants and I always request gluten free. Never had a problem anywhere else. The server assured me items were especially gluten free. I knew they were not. After items were brought to the table I was advised 10 minutes later the server was wrong and the items were not gluten free.
You pay a bunch of money to cook your own food. Bland, unremarkable food at that. Dessert was tasty, but the cheese lacked flavor, the assortment of things to dip in the cheese was uninspiring, and the entrees cook down to something that looks only marginally better than dog food. Waiter never refilled our water. Its a gimmick - an expensive one at that - and the novelty wore off even before I finished the mediocre salad.
I have mixed feelings about this place. The food is excellent and the service was good. However, do not go if you are already hungry, you have to plan a head as well as plan to be there while. It takes awhile from when you order to when you get your food, so be prepared.
If you have never been to Melting Pot, its definitely worth a visit. Its a very unique experience. Generally speaking, you either understand it and love it, or you just dont get it and the entire conceot escapes you. This is a special event type of place, as it has a modern sophisticated type vibe, and the bill typically hovers around $100 or more, even for a simple meal. With frequent visits you tend to lose the special-ness that is attached to a unique dining experience. The staff always adds a lot of special touches and gives a lot of personal attention, they try to make it an intimate experience. Overall, its a great place and I have never had a disappointing experience.
Always amazing. Always filling and always worth it. You can fill on small pieces of fruit, bread. Brocolli and carrots. I love the loaded baked potato cheese. I am working my way to try something else some day. The original chocolate with chunky peanutbutter is the bomb. Specially with chocolate dusted marshmallows.
I have been bringing my daughter (now 13) to the Melting Pot for her birthday for the past 5 years. The staff is unfailingly kind and goes out of their way for us, despite the fact that were usually only doing dessert and not spending a lot of money. This year they seated us at two separate booths (one for my husband and myself and one for my daughter and her friends) and actually ran to another restaurant to buy french fries because thats what the girls wanted. My husband and I had a cheese fondue and the girls had their chocolate. Everyone left happy!
Excellent place to go eat for that Special occasion, or for whatever occasion. You get to cook your own food, but you dont have to, how cool is that. If youve never been GO, if youve been take that special someone and go back they are probably due a nice night out anyway.
Incredible service, fast response time, and the food was incredible. Upon casually remarking that one of us enjoyed one type of bread and the other enjoyed the other types, the staff even separated the bread for us by type. Now thats going above and beyond! We do, however, recommend avoiding their four course meals outside of special occasions, as the other items on the menu, while still very good, dont give nearly as much bang for buck as the cheeses and chocolates do.Personal recommendations: Apple Cider Alpine, Quattro Formaggio, and Wisconsin Cheddar cheese fondues, Caramel Toffee Crunch chocolate fondue.
Love this place, though it can be quite expensive, so I wouldnt recommend going there every single week. Make it a special visit, such as birthdays or anniversaries. The people there are so helpful, willing to suggest different things, explain how their menu is set up, and just kind in general. We have had the waitress give us extra dippers for the chocolate because we still had a near full pot before. Oh god it is sooo delicious! Highly recommending it for a guy who wants to cheer up his girl. I would love it if my boyfriend ever did that for me.
We go 3 times a year and we get seated in lovers lane the only complaint would ne the first table is near where employees seem to hang out.... just a tad more private. I will ask for next time. Wait staff was a lottle more visible, i like it quiet and private , its really lile a mini vacation. So Thank you!
The food and service is always top notch. They do not list the French Quarter on the menu anymore but they will still provide it if you ask. Cheese fondue for starters chocolate Turtle for dessert. The ying-yang martinis are so good I learned how to make them myself at home. When the food first comes out it doesnt look like much but in actual fact we walk out the door stuffed every time. It is too bad the Melting Pot shut down in the Toronto area. Given a better location and proper management they would have done well. Corbin and demographics were the two biggest factors. Their neighboring restaurant at Walden Galaria The Cheesecake Factory is doing extremely well at Yorkdale Shopping Center with two hour plus wait times for a table.
If you like fondue you will like this place. Food is very good. Desert is even better, how could you not love dipping pieces of brownies, rice crisis, strawberries in hot melted chocolate. If you plan to order a main course with fondue oil instead of the traditional fondue, dont wear good clothes the fondue oil splatters.
The service was awful. We never got: the shaker salt, soda, water, bowl of vegetables, and the cheesecake wasnt fresh; by the way, our server was Jessica. Too expensive for the sevice and food that we got! I dont recommend this restaurant. For us it was first and last visit at the time.

2022-01-15Great spot for a date night or fun for the family if you dont have picky eaters. Our kids were fascinated by the idea of cooking your own food at the table and had a lot of fun. Expect to spend at least an hour or two here as the service is a bit slower and food takes time to cook in small batches. Drinks and food are $$$ so plan accordingly.TIP: Stop here just for desert after a movie or date at one of the malls many activities and youll save some $ and still leave stuffed and entertained. We ended with the smores fondue and wished we had more room. Its delicious and is a hit for the whole family

2021-08-20Weve been enjoying the Melting Pot since the late 1980s and feel that, over time, the experience has changed. It now seems to us to be less personable and in our opinion more rushed. Watching the cheese fondue made at your table took all of five minutes and, for us, was a great opportunity for server and guest to interact and be part of the experience. The food offerings and service were excellent but it doesnt offer the experience that it used to be. Why is everyone so rushed.?

2022-05-11My daughter and I were absolutely starving, so what better to fill up on fast than bread, cheese, veggies, fruits and chocolate?! (Oh, and a strawberry daiquiri 🙂)From the time we were seated (immediately) until we left, everything was amazing. Jake was our server and if you are lucky enough to have him wait on you, I hope you tip him well, he was fantastic! Our food order was perfect, as were our drinks. There was hardly any wait time between courses, and Jake repeatedly stopped by the table to see if we wanted more dippers, which we did, and often! We opted for the Wisconsin Cheddar and SMores fondues. Do yourself a flavor and have some apples with the chocolate! Youll have to ask for it though, it comes with the cheese.Overall we had an amazing experience and will be back again! Thank you all so much for the hospitality!
