STAY AWAY! My wife was diagnosed last Summer for Huntingtons Disease by HDSA Duke University. Came here for continuation of care because we moved to Philly. They said my wife doesnt have HD because she doesnt have the movements. Not all patients with Huntingtons experience movements in the first stages! They are using outdated material on HD. It used to be called Huntingtons Chorea, but over time the name was changed to Huntingtons Disease. My wife has cognitive symptoms and a CAG repeat of 42.We met a total of 3 doctors and all had horrible bedside manners because they didnt even introduce themselves- Dr. Amalia Peterson (fellow doctor), Dr. Sarah OShea, and another doctor who we think was Karen Marder (doesnt help when she didnt introduce herself).Lastly, we met with a social worker named Deborah Thorne via video call. She told my wife, “You look great, I can’t tell anything’s wrong with you, be happy about that. She just insulted every individual who has a disability. Not every disability is VISIBLE!!! And is she saying that if my wife looks great, that people in their later stages of HD look horrible?!?! Huntingtons Disease isnt seen visually 100% of the time, every patient is different.Find a clinic where you dont have to educate the doctors on the disease. Find an HDSA Center of Excellence where theyve actually seen HD patients and have updated material. My wife posted our experience on her Facebook support group and they were all horrified, but not surprised.

I cant even say enough good things about here and any other Columbia staff. For the first time since becoming ill, I was treated like someone cared. My team has been working diligently for months trying to figure out what is wrong with me and is constantly thinking about me and my disease. They are kind every single time I am there and they take the time to listen. They may not completely understand what I am going through but they are entirely empathetic. My original team at another hospital did not care one bit about me. I was money to them and they were so horrible. Columbia is a breath of fresh air.

Mom arranged to donate her brain for study upon her death. At the time, family asked to be given the full autopsy report and were told it would take 6 months, but we would get it.After 8 months, we were told that it was delayed due to Covid, but would be available soon. After 10 months we were told it never takes this long and would be available after the pathologist signed off.No one ever kept us up to date with what was going on.Its now more than a year since her death and we have heard nothing. Is itIncompetence?Lost specimen?Commercialization of her remains?Insensitivity?Would definitely recommend AGAINST dealing with this group.

Receptionists and staffs are very friendly, caring & compassionate. I would only give it four out of five stars due to possible improvement in rooms and temperature in the vicinity. Also it seems that doctor’s associates are not responsive that much should patients experience possible side effects from procedures or part of the issue being pursued.Overall wonderful faculty.

Staffing issues, you could be on hold for a appointment for a very very long time.

The technical (medical) skill is outstanding/beyond reproach, but then this should be expected from an educational institution. The infra-structure (back office operation) works well, though there is a room for improvement in diligence and attitude - Too laid-back; said unkindly: while some are very conscientious, most perform grudgingly.I wish that the great technical skill was matched by great bedside manners. Grace, empathy, class are some of the metrics to measure true professionalism and human character. It is attainable by the intelligent practitioners that we met; just focus the search light on it. You and us will be glad that you did.

Great doctors but TERRIBLE staff. My god the difference between Columbia vs. NYU neurology staff is night vs. day. Getting hung up on, attitude, getting yelled at and interrupted mid sentence by Jessica (the *senior* practice manager). It’s unbelievable

Bad customer service. I would have expected more from this institution.
