This store has a lot of nice coats and fashionable jackets and sweaters. However, prices are high at this store, so be prepared to spend a pretty penny. Lots of coats for your selection. Small normally runs out for every single color. But there are a lot of good selections. Some jackets and coats ranges between $125 - $300. You may be able to find your selection(s) online and at a discount.
This store on Broadway has a couple of floors. The children’s section was relatively small and they didn’t have much. They nice nice travel duffel bags displayed around the store, but they only had the large ones in black despite their website showing the yellow color in stock. It looks like there’s a discrepancy between the inventory on their website and the in-store stock so call them before you go if you’re looking for something specific.
A large warehouse-like 2-story space in NYC houses the NYC flagship store of The North Face. Having been spoiled by the recent floor of outlet stores throughout the country, the non-discounted prices for items found this retail store definitely presented some sticker shock. However, given the quality of product and the lifetime warranty on all products, The North Face gear will pay for themselves throughout the lifetime of usage. This retail store only carries the most current products, so some of the more classic items like the fleece jacket will have to be purchased from online or the outlet stores.
Dear ManagementI would recommend christole is best employees around Christmas timeFull energy very customer oriented person and made our family happy day. Looking for my daughters ski pants unfortunately cant find out Due to high demand. Only available was display items .I asked if you help me out it will be great. She act like real Santa Claus. No hesitate and fully help us out. God bless her.
More boutique than a true North Fave store packed to the brim with stuff. An airy and bright space that harkens back to the modern 60s. Interesting modernist art inside as well. Still boasts a good selection of winter and trekking essentials. A ton of variety in gloves.
Big and spacious store. They have a huge variety of Nort face clothing from hats and pants,to coats, jackets and gear. Friendly team oriented employees. I love the service and the suggestive sales they inform and show you of. Keep up the good work North Face 5th ave 42 and 43 Street sore I will be back soon. Thank you for your help.
Expect to pay over $100 for a jacket here. I came when it was on sale and got a really nice black jacket for $270. Super warm with two layers and a removable shell. They have goose down and their ball insulation. The jackets at Northface are definitely much warmer than Columbia. I wore my new jacket to Montana in March and I was just fine. I even had to take it off after awhile because I was so warm. The orange and other colors are a bit too loud. Im sticking to black.
I went to this store today and had a terrible experience. I was looking for a backpack and found Jester on their website, which looked nice and seemed to meet all my needs but wanted to check and try it on in person. So I went to the store, looked around in the entire store and couldnt find the backpack so asked one of shop staff at the backpack section if you had Jester backpacks in the store since I saw a variety of color versions of it online. She said they didnt have mens version of it there, which I was looking for, and only had womens version. I asked her why they didnt have any of mens version of it in this big store and she rudely responded, I dont know. The company is controlling it and just check the womens version. They are exactly the same as mens and go online. That was unkind and I was so offended. And the information she said was totally wrong, the mens version and the womens are different size, I checked on their website. If a sales person gives customers a false information about their products with that rude attitude and If a flagship store like this big doesnt have a variety of their products which are on their website, would you go back to the store and shop there? I would never and wont. So disappointing.
Came in in dire need for a backpack for my daughter. Received assistance from two wonderful employees (sorry cannot remember names). They both gave me recommendations based on the needs of my child. Walked in and out in under 5 minutes with a bag my child ended up loving. I will be back for my jacket needs. Awesome customer service.
Amazing place! the jackets are so good but i just wish they would put sales. first of all, the staff here are amazing! one man greeted us in the front of the stairs and gave us a tour and showed us prices. he was so patient and he didn’t care if we bought something or not. FIVE STARS!
Sell staff on the floor were not busy but just hanging out! However, when at the cashier to pay for the item I was purchasing the cashier kept insisting if anyone had helped or even said ‘hi’ to me. Out of nowhere a sells assistant appeared and insisted that she had said ‘hi’ to me just to collect the commission! Very strange customer service!
The location here is great. Lots of stock, friendly and helpful employees and looks modern. I bought two parkas here...one for my wife and one for myself. Great quality. We’ve had some cold days and the parka has kept me extremely warm. The North Face is high quality gear. Never stop exploring is right!
They do not have all the inventory and have nothing in stock. upon asking the sales person they said whatever we have is on the sales floor. we have ordered 2 items from online and wanted to exchange but they did not have those items in stock. also we liked 2 jackets that were in the store but they did not have size M and L.Also we were in the store with our 4 months old and wanted use the diaper changing station so we were looking for the restroom. the person said restrooms are on the second floor. we went here and looked for the restroom sign which we could not find. but it stated outside the elevator the restrooms were located on 2nd floor.when we asked the person for the restroom location he pointed to the back of the store. we went there and asked another person for restroom he said its out of order. my wife asked him if she can use the ladies room as she wanted to change the babys diaper. the person said that is out of order too. she said she dont want to use it for her self but just the station he went to ask the manager and came back and said manager said NO. we spent $300 in that store and this is how we were treated.this is a high end brand and have no respect for the customers.
High quality brand! This is a big store with a large selection of options. It is two floors worth of amazing products. You can easily find what you need. You can most definitely end up splurging. You might just end up walking out of there with two large bags of North Face hoodies, backpacks, boots and gloves. The staff do their best to keep everything in order and are awesome. It is a really cool set up. Go check it out!
Low on stock if youre trying to find a specific size all they got is small medium extra small large maybe a double extra large but if youre looking for bigger sizes for tall and big men or women youre going to have to go online or visit the other store on 74th and Broadway
Great people and customer service. They had exactly what I was looking for, a large backpack that looks sporty, professional, and has enough space for all of my gear I use on jobsites! Great place to get a backpack of youre looking as someone that works in field service and in NYC.
Staff were nice but they knew absolutely nothing about the products they were selling. I didnt get any advice on materials or technical aspects of a $500 jacket I was looking at, but was told to be sure to mention that staffs name on the counter if I end up buying it.I came here right from Patagonias store and the customer service just has no comparison.I like TNF products, I believe they are still good quality and the design is above competition, but I will definitely not visit this store again.
I went there to exchange my jacket luckily I didnt have to wait for too long because there was just 1 lady before me but, if I there were 3 or more people a head of me I would have waited for 30 min or more than that.Staffs were comfortable to talk to but definitely not professional. At first you might feel like dealing with bunch of clueless kids but give them chance, they will definitely help you. They were informative enough to let us know that there was another checkout place on second floor even though there was just 1 guy behind me and 1 beside me and not crowded. You judge.Definitely place if you are looking for friendly neighborhood customer service store of North face but, not a place if you want professional customer service.
The staff is excellent here. There was a particular Tshirt I really wanted and it was always out of stock. On my fourth visit, and by that time it was out of production altogether, one particular staff member went into the warehouse and with some luck he found one in my size.
Shop is very big but for some reason there was very little choice. No socks when we went (and when asked the staff indicated that arrivals were irregular and they didnt know when the next one would be), and their kids coats had plenty of sizes missing. Staff told me to go to Paragon for more choice!
Spacious and bright store, awesome service, everyone is attentive and nice, especially one tall guy who called all other stores to check if they have the jacket I want stocked. Even tho they were all sold out. I bought it from a UK online store in the end haha. Def would revisit soon.
Cool store, full of essentials for camping.Including clothes, boots, sleeping bags, tents. Employees lazy, not helpful at all, they were just staring and talking in little groups around the store, dressed way to casual and wearing sandals. I asked an employee about the fabric of a tent and she barely knew information about the products. She did know the price.
So glad I shopped at North Face on a day like today! This place is amazing! Everyone is very helpful, its aesthetically pleasing and conveniently located on 5th Ave near Bryant Park. They have a great selection of smaller items like hats, gloves and jackets along with the bigger items like tents. Overall great store for all your North Face needs to deal with the winter vortex!
I was looking for a new coat as the winter cold months are approaching. Northface has always been my go to brand. The warmth and comfort of the coat is what I have always loved. I shopped around and found out they had a store right here in Manhattan NY. I called got the hours due to COVID-19 and jumped on the train.I purchased a new parka for this winter YAYY ME!!!There was a few others I really liked, but I’m going to have to make another trip. They are really fare at the prices especially when you are comparing them to the outlets your only saving gas and toll.
I entered the store. Asked for a product that was own the main floor display. It took over 15 mins for them to even acknowledge me and ask me what u was in for. When I asked for the product they immediately shut me and said I don’t have the product. Very bad experience.
The staff was helpful but I felt the store was a bit empty, not that much clothing to show. Most of the big brand stores on 5th seemed to show off the amount of square footage by creating fast amounts of empty space, perhaps handy when your store is swamped with people but that wasnt the case.
Well-stocked store. I mean, you can buy a full body snowsuit. Everyone was friendly and helpful enough until I checked out and asked about sales tax. I guess once the person helping me realized I was from out of town she didn’t feel as friendly. That’s OK. I did learn NY doesn’t charge sales tax until $110. Cool.
I bought a Router Transit backpack from here. I did a lot of research online before I decided to check it out in store. When I arrived, I spent a lot of time checking out other bags. There was one bag that caught my eye that was much more expensive. A sales associate came up to help me. I explained my search process and the fact that I had narrowed it down to the two bags. Instead of pushing me towards the more expensive, newer and flashier bag, he recommended that I stick with the cheaper bag (the Router Transit) because it was a proven top seller and extremely reliable. I really appreciate his honesty, candor and willingness to downsell me to in order to make sure I was happy. Ill definitely come back to this store again for my future North Face gear.
Very odd experience. I asked if they had a pair of trousers in medium in stock and the floor manager radioed for someone to check, after about 15 minutes he finally tells me there’s non in stock, so I asked what size the pair on the mannequin is, he checks the tag and says “believe it or not they are an XL sorry” they clearly weren’t so I checked mannequin myself and sure enough he was lying, they were a medium. He then gave me a look of disgust and fetched someone of lower rank to remove the trousers from the mannequin.Every other thing I picked out while in the store wasn’t available in my size, and every other customer seemed to be waiting for the staff to check for sizes.More stock available in a North Korean grocery store than this place
Awesomely goodI went to the north face looking for a jacket as I couldn’t find one anywhere, as I went there and had a look I didn’t find anything there that I was looking for, but thanks to the VERY friendly staff they had a check downstairs and sure enough they found something I wanted and I was stocked. Thank you very much to the Fantastic staff for helping me out.A must come for anyone looking for some jackets and everything else.
Large store with plenty of employees to assist. Selection was terrible and they had literally no sizes in stock but the staff were very helpful and assisted with ordering off the website. Will not be returning to the store, you are better off ordering online and returning what doesnt fit. Waste of time to visit this store.
Do you expect to buy WINTER stuff year-round right? WRONG! They only have seasonal things. I went there hoping to buy a good winter hat (you know, double layer to fully block wind). I was very surprised that they only had spring ones. Really? Staff was helpful, store is beautiful, but they just have pretty things for tourists.
Terrible experience. I arrived at 4pm and after searching for about 5 mins for an employee finally one appeared. I explained to him what I wanted amd he truly seemed lost. He had no knowledge of products beyond how they looked and didnt even bother to accompany me to search for what I was looking for. They need to do a better job training their employees.
North Face is certainly a recognizable brand name and the store was nice and service was great. However the selection was subpar and the clothing is not high enough in quality to warrant the prices. 55 dollars for gloves that were uncomfortable, unfashionable, and poorly made
The inventory seemed kind of light to me. Also, the layout was a bit confusing. Lots of different little sections with shirts, jackets, maybe pants. So to see the jackets I had to go to all the little sections. Didnt find what I was looking for. Will probably just stick to shopping online, though there did seem to be some good deals, if you can find the right size and style.
Was in there last night, looking for a coat for my son. Asked a few of the salespeople for suggestions, no one helped, just pointed and said look over there they were not busy, so not sure why they would not help. Then as I am looking at jackets, one of the salespeople comes up behind to straighten out the jacket I just put back never saying a word, not asking if they could be of help.My husband was on the other side of the store and got the same treatment. Extremely unhelpful staff, unprofessional. Im really just hoping they were having an off night. Needless to say, we will not be going back there.
Looked nice inside however wasted my time walking to it in the freezing cold only to find out the hours were wrong. Google said they were open until 10 pm, got there at 9:30 pm and staff on the inside were saying we are closed. Had gone there to replace my North Face hat with a new one.
This place is amazing! Everyone is very helpful, its aesthetically pleasing and conveniently located on 5th Ave near Bryant Park. They have a great selection of smaller items like hats, gloves and jackets along with the bigger items like tents. Overall great store for all your North Face needs.
Rude and incompetent staff that done nothing but mess me around for days and waste my time! Even had one member of staff comment to the other, that it must be my time of the month! If I was in the uk and didn’t have my flight home in an hour I would of punched him in the throat! The incompetence and how much I was misinformed in this store had put me off the brand completely!Note to tourists, do not order anything for “next day delivery here” they trick you into buying a gift card so that they can complete the purchase and when the delivery doesn’t come try and land you with a voucher!
The staff at this store is extremely rude. I tried talking to 4 different people so I could get some help. Everyone I spoke to either didn’t let me finish before the told me they couldn’t help me or they directed me to someone else to help when they were clearly not busy. I was there looking for winter boots, and while they have a lot of times on display there is no information (i.e. no information about whether is was water proof, sizes available)- it was literally just a shoe on a wall and since there was no one to help me/answer any question I couldn’t buy what I was looking for. Overall frustrating experience.
This is one of the largest north face store i have ever been !! Store is in New york city, Herlad square. If you want to visit this store, you can take B D F M and 7 train and 5 minute walk. Store is huge and you can find any things from Campings, running, trial , artic clothing. Employees are friendly and helpful. I would also recommend my friend to visit this store !!I do love north face and i bought def down parka and the quality is outstanding. The jacket is good for winter and snow. I spent around 450$ and i am happy I invested in right item. The store also has wide varieties of selection and i am sure , if you will visit you will end up buying something. The brand is expensive compared to other brand but quality is really nice. If you visit this store please do check defdown parka. Here are the features of jacket :attached, fully adjustable hood with premium, luxe, removable faux-fur ruffStormflap with magnetic closure covers the center front zipGusseted sleeves for mobilityZippered alpine hand pocketsConvertible mitten storm cuffsPolyurethane (PU), reverse-coil zip vents at hem for added mobility
Very bad experience. Went there on a rainy/snowy day to get some jackets for all the Way back to my country friends some gift. The guy wearing spectacles At cash register was not happy about me buying four jackets !!!! What !!! When somebody was helping me getting another size and he said “leave it “ leave it “ then came back to me and said actually one person can buy only 3 of same item but You got 4 . ... we sell you with a bad expression, I was like what !!! Seems like I am begging something. He doesn’t has to be rude to me, could have explained with manner. I was so disappointed... .. is something wrong that I am Asian ???Sorry but I had to write down all these ... I was really disappointed
Theres this great shop in the heart of New York City but there is nothing on sale no discounts nothing it just felt like they were giving you full retail cost for their products the products that were on offer were very good in the displays for very good but it just felt as though it was only a store to find the unusual New North Face item and it wasnt there to entice people in to buy their products
Very exciting and very good service if they dont have what u need they will call other stores 4 u and if its not in stock at other north face stores they will recommend and store that may be could help u. Store very clean and prices are great dont 4 get warranty are 100% back on behalf of companies defaulture no matter how many years now how can u beat that go now shop there now the north face flagship store 5th avenue and 43st its the best
Store has good collection but staff needs some work.. When I am just browsing around the store theres at least 10 associates asking me if I need help. And then when I actually need help and ask for a stock check, an associate keeps paging someone else for a stock check for atleast 15 mins.. If there were atleast 10 other associates joking around, and nobody answering to your paging machine, my bet would be you would go yourself and help me out with the stock check. But, nope kept waiting.. I finally gave up and started walking out.. instead of a sorry, she asks me are you sure?. Yeah, absolutely sure your company just lost my business!
They dont sell any winter jackets made with synthetic down—so the only choice during cold weather is to buy down, which is literally ripped off animals (often while they are alive). The staff didnt know their product lineup particularly well and repeatedly recommended the wrong thing. The layout is confusing, with mens and womens products intermixed. The selection is not that great, especially for a flagship. Many products lack information on their tags. When I scanned the QR code on one of the tags, The North Face website crashed.
The quality of the Northface Parkas has fell off dramatically. I was interested in purchasing stratus parka, so I decided to drop by the Northface store. Comparing my old Northface-GoreTex to the ones being made today is no comparison. The new parkas felt below quality. Material wise the new versions felt skimpy.
I came here on a Monday around noon. This store is 2 floors, spacious, and well lit. The first floor is smaller and has some menswear and shoes. The 2nd floor has more menswear, womenswear, and camping gear.I was looking for the Junior Winter Sneaker in black for myself. They’re kids snow sneakers. Waterproof and insulated. I’ve been looking for an extra warm pair of shoes for the NYC winters. If I spend more than 10 minutes in below 40 degrees, my toes freeze off. Winter boots can be really heavy, and I wanted the lightweight feel and bendy sole of a sneaker. These North Face Junior Winter Sneakers seemed perfect. On their website, it said they had a pair in my preferred color and size in stock in this store, but the shoe guy couldn’t find them. He said they were probably on a mannequin or something.I tried on another pair of shoes just to confirm my size, and I will probably buy these online.I was also looking for the Women’s 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket or Women’s Nuptse Duster, especially in the Metallic Copper color, because it’s dope. They had one Nuptse Duster in an XL (which doesn’t work for me), and I couldn’t find any of the 1996 Retro Nuptse Jackets (cropped version) in that color.Anywho, a nice store to look at products, try on some coats and other winter apparel, and chill.
You like Northface? Than go on in. Just prepare to take all the price tags out from hidden pockets and holes. Honestly thats stupid because the question is How much is it? immediately after anyone looks at anything they want to consume. Or if Northface is doing it for aesthetics than its just inconvenient. I guess it keeps the workers busy shoving back the price tags everyone takes out.
Head North!!” This store on 5th and 43rd st holds a vast array of product..I mostly shop there because they always have sizes I need or can order the particular size if it’s not in store which is rare...And as an addition the staff is very informative and especially helpful in helping with decisions on clothing (sizes/color) or adding just the right touch regarding accessories such as hats and or gloves... I shop there for my Urban look and warmth not to climb a Mountain but feel welcomed just like I was just as important...”
Great location amazing customer service.. until this visit I did not know that their backpacks have a guarantee of they break.. you can send them back for credit toward a new bag or to even have your current one repaired.. look into it especially if youre a fan of the older bags like I am..the new bags are nice tho but I still prefer the sinch side pockets of my BIG SHOT. It lasted me about 12 years of commuting to nyc as a union ironworker.I now upgraded to the SURGE its a lot bigger but im happy but still hoping that they will fix my bag and not just rule it unrepairable even tho a credit would be better than just having a broken bag..the store will send out your bag and has mountain coats in a variety of colors and thats all I really cared for..
Honestly, I work in retail and I get that it’s a high end store on 5th ave, but they followed you everywhere you go, like your gonna steal something, can’t shop in peace, there isn’t that much variety for women or men, horrible service, avoid this store and go to a different one.
I came in back may and it someone name mandy who hlep me out she was so nice ! she was the best i came in two days looking for her but they told me she dont work for them anymore i was sad cus she was really nice to me hlep me for what i was looking for i would come back for her to hlep me anyday

2022-03-13The customer service here is 5-stars all the way. There’s always a representative standing by the entrance to greet you and answer any questions you may have. All of the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and they make the whole buying experience so much better. I love the North Face brand not just for their quality products but also their attentiveness to high quality customer service. It attracts brand loyalty and I will be a North Face fan for life.

2022-03-26We just wanted to buy a duffel bag. There are hundreds in the front of the store. But none to sell. Not fully right: you have 2 XS or S and a few ugly colors.Nothing is in stock in this store 🤯

2021-08-10Very impressive, giant, two-storey store near Times Square and the NY Public Library. Well laid out, with lots and lots elbow room for these Covid times. Lots of light, too.

2022-05-14Nice big store front. Way too much square feet for the amount of merchandise for sale. I was hoping to check out some jackets and packs but Store is like 80% women stuff and 20% men stuff. Not much for us guys. Also The staff was very welcoming/attentive/helpful.

2022-04-12Came here with my friend to buy running shoes, and the service was exceptional. Miguel helped us find the right shoe, he is very knowledgeable and provided one of the best services I have ever experienced while buying shoes. Thank you Miguel, we appreciate it.

2022-05-09The staff is very stingy, she didn’t let me use a fitting room. I ordered a jacket online and shipped to this location because I wanted to try on and looked at the mirrors from all angles. All I had was standing in front of a slim mirror, worrying my bags and belongings might get stolen so I couldn’t really examine the jacket.

2022-05-23Came here last week and had bad customer service. Employee named good wine I think? I asked him if they had a particular jacket and he gave me such a temper and bad attitude for no reason. He told me so aggressively they don’t have it and why would I expect them to have it in spring. I ended up buying a shirt and the cashiers asked me if I got help from him, which is how I got his name. Everyone else was friendly, but that ruined my day.

2022-06-07Picked up a nice hoodie and saved 10% with my email also. Not the nicest staff though, women helping me made me feel like I was bothering her.
