Food: 5Customer service: 5Atmosphere: 5Value: 4Average: 4.75Notes: Wow! What a spectacular $12 grilled cheese. With the fig and brie, I felt like I was eating a cheeseboard in a sandwich. Super clever and exciting. Kept me on my feet. Portions are not large. Beautiful decor. Fries are well seasoned.Only suggestion would be to use a different kind of bread. Baguettes are stiff and push out the soft filling. Their thickness masks some of those awesome flavors of the cheese and tomato.
Far and away my favorite bar in the Upper East Side! The American Double Cheeseburger is a must try and the bacon they use is friggin delicious. The best part, though, is the people. Sean and Jenn always make you feel welcomed. Outstanding hospitality! Highly recommend to check out this place if you are in the neighborhood.
The place had a nice atmosphere and vibe, however, when a bigger crowd came in for drinks my friend and I were asked to give up our seats for them. This is incredibly rude and clearly shows that they value customers differently. In addition to this, they had a limited selection of drinks. I would not recommend coming here unless you look filthy rich, seeing as though money is clearly all they care about.
First time visiting was last week. It was a chill atmosphere and the bartender was really nice. I had the duck tacos. Their menu can be kicked up a notch and Im hoping their new chefs have what it takes to take this from an ok to an amazing place. Their new chef DJ was really nice and made me want to come back again. And I most definitely will.
The staff seems to value people differently. Me and my friend were having drinks and when some people arrived they asked us to move to another table. It was rude because it seems like the other party was more important than us when the service should have been the same.
We stumbled upon this gem on day one of our trip; met with superb food and service. The burger was amazing and so was the breakfast sandwich. Most importantly, we appreciated Jennifer’s warm hospitality! Thanks so much for such a warm encounter in a grand city like New York!
I have walked by this pub / tavern many many times and have always been intrigued... I took my mother finally because she cannot go to a restaurant that’s too noisy .I am originally from the West Village where she lives but I lic in the neighborhood.I was immediately struck by the cool photos on the wall.. very eye catching ... the bartender smiled .... and we sat in the back .The place is very clean . I am a germaphob, so this matters to me ! Our waiter was nice . Our food took a bit of time to arrive but I ordered the BBQ wings and they wereDelicious . Tasted clean and the Dipping sauce fresh .Also I was in the mood for many items on the menu but randomly got the Bruchetta ... this was so fresh ... tasted so amazing . I am annoying New Yorker and will send my food back shamefully but I want to enjoy what I am eating ! Sorry ! hot if it’s supposed to be that way and will go out with my boyfriend to the most expensive restaurants or just to a dive around the corner and Won’t stand for a stomach ache :(My mother ordered the tomato soup and the grilled cheese .I tasted her grilled cheese . This was so delicious. Seriously beyond good on a cold night !!!I mean if anyone’s has tried Sarahbeths , a tremendously velvetyOutrageously yummy soup at an equally outrageous price ... this soup is rivaling this ! And cheaper lol !Just an over all nice place to grab a bite . Low key ...seems like they have a very good chef in a place that’s justAppearing to be a pub but I will be going back for sure !
Painted Lady is the (must needed) new-ish addition to the UES. Think chic cream wallpapers, dark wooden furniture, classic surrounding that pays homage to strong women with a bright red exterior and a name that’s written in an old-school circus font. Once you walk in you will find a long bar and an American-style cocktails and food menu.Casual and unique, this spot has both a food and drinks menu that is catered towards laid-back dining. For Sunday brunch, there’s eggs Benedict, avocado on toast and waffles with fruit—and more unusual eats for the evening include duck tacos with watermelon, deviled eggs, chicken liver and more. The cocktail menu is wide and easily accessible for those with dietary requirements. Also, unlike most of its neighbors, it has a decent variety of wines and they are are priced reasonably.Happy Hour is until 8pm on weekdays and they have Trivia Tuesday!! Pretty exciting =]I met a friend there Saturday around 7pm and bar was pretty much empty aside from 4 other people. Bartender was very friendly and menu knowledgeable which is always a plus! Especially on UES where most bars try to hire hot girls who in majority have no clue about drinks and/or customer service. Good work Painted Lady!Even though I don’t live in the area I will be back for happy hour next timeWE ended up ordering food there as wellFood-Chicken Liver, comes with warm sliced baguette – was pretty good and is a generous portion perfect to share-Wings – really delicious-Grilled Cheese on a Baguette, comes with fries and was a great suggestion from our bartender (think his name is Sean)Give Painted Lady a try and you won’t regret!
Okay.... the food was great and the hosts very friendly..... but even if you are a hater, you have to admit that the place has a very appealing vibe! The only thing I don’t like is that I live too far away from here to make it my regular hang out (but that’s not their fault!). Good job with the place guys, I will definitely be back!
Customer Service = 5Food & Drink = 5Ambiance = 4Music/TV choices = 3Value = 4Avg = 4.2Interesting, friendly Yorkville bar with decent food menu, beer selections and full bar. There are a couple of nice, semi-secluded tables at the front windows and the staff/owners seem lovely. Its a great addition to the neighborhood, right at the 96th St. Q line station.
Wow it is amazing how I work for this restaurant and they fire me because I had an emergency with my son and I try to explain what happened and they tell me that my son is not an emergency and that they are not excuses for me to miss the real job that the owners I dont have a heart in this restaurant, I am a single father who has no family in this country and wants to throw away but for them I used my son to not work ... 2022-02-10My first experience at the Painted Lady and its worthy of the positive reviews. A nice, narrow, Saloon with a comfy vibe. Menu is just enough beyond standard to encourage the visit. I had fried chicken sandwich that came with mountain of fries. I was intrigued with the chicken on biscuit with sausage gravy, but was too far from home to risk it. Sounds good and I’ll try sometime. Chili was with buffalo meat and a beyond meat option as well. I will come back.

2022-04-18A couple months ago, it was way too crowded on Tuesday Trivia night so I skipped but recently I was able to check this place out. Turnend out to be a very cozy bar with interesting selection of photo frames all over the wall. Big screens by the bar to watch sports. The staff members were very nice. Enjoyed drinks and food as well.

2022-01-19A neighborhood bar with balls. The crowd seems fresh, awake and progressive. A classic Cheers themed location with quick and tasty bar food. Reasonably priced - close to Equinox and H&M.

2022-03-26Another neighborhood spot I had not been aware of. Excellent service all around from the bartender to the servers. Came for a trivia night and had a blast. They were slinging a lot of food too which all looked delicious.

2022-07-09This is a local place right by us and weve been wanting to go for awhile. We ended up coming here for Tuesday Night Trivia with the neighbors. It was a lot of fun and the drinks were good. We arrived right before happy hour ended and ordered all of the happy hour mini shares. I ordered the edamame and it was delicious and flavorful. The mac & cheese was good but I wish it was a little more baked. I was told that the deviled eggs and chicken bites were good per my friends. As the night progressed, I did try the bavarian pretzel and the impossible chorizo tacos. The tacos were surprisingly really good!Overall, this restaurant ended up being a nice surprise and our night was also a lot of fun.

2021-06-24Great food, great service and great ambiance to match. Brought a group of 6 here and would definitely come back. We honestly had most of the menu and everyone was more than satisfied. Paired it all with a couple nice bottles of wine off their list. 5/5 would recommend!

2022-03-18Such a nice place! It has a very cool vibe and the waiter/waitress were very friendly and nice. I got the burger and it was very tasty and juicy! The only thing is that the food took a bit long, but otherwise, very fun place.

2019-05-01A beautifully appointed bar with a great variety of brewskis, cocktails, and food menu. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I can’t speak yet for the food, but as far as ambience and drinks go, it’s a great place to wind down. Jordan, the bartender was/is amazing—she definitely knows how to pour a good pint of Guinness—that’s all one should know of her top quality of a bartender. Food review will follow shortly... overall, a beautiful, relaxed place to enjoy a drink or two. Or three. I highly recommend it.
