I was born and raise in Syracuse before relocating to another state. After all these years, I never realized what a hidden gem Parkview was. I stayed here with family on a short trip back to my hometown! Carrie, the hospitality associate on duty when we checked in greeted us with a warm welcome, and was very friendly and accommodating! Our room was very clean, the bathroom was nice, it reminded me of a classic home design, the beds we very comfortable and the room overall was very nice & comfortable! Even my 3 year enjoyed the stay! I must say it truly felt like home!
A bit dated, I assume the hotel is going under renovation as the lower walls had the wallpaper removed, all scuffed up.. the hallway had strong paint fumes.. it was not the best first impression. The room was large and had all the amenities you needed. Water pressure was great. Carpet was really dirty though. I noticed a lot of water damage on the furniture (shelving and cabinets). The soundproofing could have been better as we could hear everything and everyone that walked through our hallway, and unfortunately we were at the main hallway where guests walked to their cars. So it was not a peaceful night for us. We heard a lot of walking around, slamming of doors.. it was as if our door did not exist. Our beds were overly soft as well. But the linen was clean and fresh. The hotel employees were friendly. However they did knock on our hotel room at 9am to check if we were still there even though check out was at 12pm. I havent experienced such early housekeeping before.I was quite sad that I had to give this place 2 stars when everyone gave it 4-5 stars. I truly wanted to like it. However we were probably placed in one of the worst rooms on the main floor. The breakfast had sausages, eggs, breads. Your typical hot breakfast. Coffee, juice and teas. The rest of the hotel seemed nice and clean. Things are well maintained for an older hotel. And for the price point its decent. When checking in make sure you get a room thats not in their main hallway. Hopefully that can make things better!
We were happy with our stay and enjoyed a quiet comfortable room and a shower with a double shower head. Our room had a small kitchenette which we liked and found useful. The staff was very helpful and warm. The breakfast was better than most we have had and the breakfast room was nice as well. We would return.
Very helpful and friendly staff eager to please. Excellent breakfast with a large selection. However, the heater in the room was very noisy, the walls are very thin in fact so thin it sounded like people were in our bathroom. The pipes were banging and I just couldnt sleep much. Thats the only reason for the 3 stars.
A gem!! We really enjoyed this hotel. The older style (maybe 1930s) interior has plenty of character and charm and it has been excellently restored and is nicely decorated and obviously well maintained. First impression - clean!! Looks clean and smells clean everywhere. We enjoyed a bright an spacious corner room with a comfortable king bed, attractive old style interior shutters on the large windows, and a nicely supplied (complete dishes for 4) mini-kitchen with a sink, microwave and small refrigerator. The bathroom floor and walls were nicely tiled and there were sturdy older style fixtures - with plenty of hot water. The complimentary continental breakfast is truly impressive with a generous variety of well-prepared food. This place is a great value for a short or long-term stay!
The hotel has an old charm to it. Very quiet very clean. They offer breakfast on weekends that is better than expected. Front desk staff are accommodating and friendly. The hotel has a small section for snacks and refrigerated drinks which are very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you end up in this neighborhood. Just a footnote, they offer free parking which was convenient and unexpected.
LOVED this hotel! It was beautiful, peaceful, and had a lot of character. It really complemented the city. The design of the room was very lovely and there was lots of natural light. It was also very clean and tidy. I hate it when hotels feel dark and dreary. This was far from that.Staff was kind and welcoming. I did not make it to the free breakfast unfortunely cause I had to run off to business in the morning. If I ever come back to Syracuse I will most definitely stay here again.
I read some reviews and was scared that the hotel would be outdated, but is far from outdated. Hotel is in a great location and it was absolutely perfect. The beds are soft and comfortable, the room size was huge. The fridge was inside a cabinet door underneath the microwave. Plenty of tv channels, over all I give it a 5 star and free parking in NY is a plus
We were here for two nights and its one of the best places we have visited. Excellent rooms that are clean and up to date. The staff is pleasant and courteous. The front desk staff and shuttle driver are both awesome. The morning breakfast is a hot buffet style with cold cereal options.
All I can say is that I was completely blown away by how classical and elegant this gem of a boutique hotel this is.. the Front Desk Staff was amazing and very helpful going above and beyond to make my stay here memorable..I most definitely will be backππππ
Exceeded my expectations. Great restoration with the charm of an older building. Air quality in room was great and this was a hotel where my allergies were under control. Room was comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast and area was very nice and the lounge area was a great place to relax with a coffee. Free parking in rear of building. The area is making a come back and is perfect location to Syracuse city and University. Beats staying in the Carrier Circle area.
We had a very comfortable stay. The front desk showed me the elevator on the left of the entrance to bring our bags up the few steps to the main area. I wish I got the womans name at the front desk, she was very helpful. Parking is in the rear, just past the building, and theres also a pull out area to park temporarily while you get your room key. Great restaurant down the street - be sure to visit Phoebes - walking distance.
Affordable, convenient, comfortable, dog friendly with free parking and breakfast. Id stay here again. When I booked my stay to Syracuse I was debating between this hotel and another cheaper place. Glad I upgraded. Was still in the $75-100 range. Its right off the highway and centrally located in the center of town. Was presently surprised with the room. Looks like they have recently renovated but were able to maintain the art deco vibe.
Wasnt able to stay because of maintenance, which I get, but they sent us to their sister hotel (Hotel Skyler) which isnt pet-friendly and they wouldnt accommodate us, even though it wasnt our fault that we specifically reserved Parkview because of their pet policy. Seems like a problem to me.
Im glad we found the Parkview. It was reasonably priced, clean and the staff was nice. I have heard some people complain about the beds. This is a personal preference so you can never please everyone. The beds were soft and we liked them. I enjoyed the feel of staying in an older hotel.
This is my go to hotel when in Syracuse. Itβs an older hotel, but has been kept up well. Staff are friendly and helpful. I originally gave the Parkview 3 stars, but on subsequent visits it has improved. It was recently purchased by Best Western and had had a refurbishment leading to a solid 5 star review. My only complaint is the windows are dirty. Given the location, climate, and age of the building I understand cleaning the exterior of the windows is likely difficult. A minor complaint for an otherwise great hotel.
The hotel is a historic building, located in the University area. The faΓ§ade of the hotel is beautiful. The hotel has an old style lobby, very small. The hotel offers free parking and free breakfast. We stayed in room 608, which has an outside view (of the parking lot though). The room is very spacious and comfortable. It has beautiful plantation shutters on the windows. Itβs one of the few hotels where you can actually get the AC very cold. Also, itβs one of the few hotels where they give you enough places to put your luggage on and keep it off the floor: one luggage rack, two Ottomans, and a chest. The bed was very comfortable, with the double sheet system of all white linens. The bathroom is very large, and it is one of the few hotels that gives you plenty of places to hang your towels: a rack inside the shower, a rack outside the shower, and a hook behind the door.
Very decent hotel with high welcoming attitude. The room is big and in good condition. There is coffee machine and refrigerator available in the room. Breakfast is fair. A self service small buffet which includes hot food such as scramble eggs and different types of pastries and bread. Some serials are available as well. There is always available free water, coffee and tea in the lobby. There are also some dring bottles and snacks for sell in the lobby which are priced just like in market.
Understated on the outside but beautiful on the inside, the parkview has a lounge and bar, offers a real breakfast to the guests and provides large home like spaces that are more then beds. Our room had a kitchen, sans oven-but a microwave. People are very friendly would definitely recommend them for long term stays as well as overnight.
The room was clean amd neatly dressed. The staff were helpful, especially the Bartender Colleen. I liked the added touches in the room, like real coffee mugs and real glasses. The showerhead was great and had good water pressure. When I go back to Syracuse O will be booking a room here again.
This hotel is darling! Nice sundries selection for late night or on-the-go snacks. Friendly service memebers. The bathroom items are cool! Great bathtub. Clean, bright rooms with large fridges, but no microwaves. Great little lounge area in the lobby. Would recommend.
Was there for a conference, they charged me even though it was covered by the conference board. Took several days, but got the money back. The hotel itself is a step up from regular lodging places, but not premium either. Their complimentary breakfast is better than most places Iβve been to.
I received an email stating that I was unhappy with my service. The email was from the travel company that I made the reservation with since it wasnt the Parkview hotel. I never received any email from Parkview regarding me being unhappy with the service. Because of the constant annoyance and flat out what appears to be lying by a company whichever company it is regarding contacting me I have lowered the rating even further. If you would like to be bothered incessantly by somebody who cant understand why everyone in the world does not receive a five-star recommendation constantly then by all means stay here. But if you would like to stay at a location that might actually listen to what you want to say I would highly recommend you stay anywhere else in the Syracuse area because all of their hotels for the most part are lovely accommodations in the downtown area having been born and raised there.
I was skeptical at first of the mixed reviews of this hotel on several different sites, but was pleasantly surprised. The customer service here is truly phenomenal. After checking in, they called up to our room to make sure everything was up to our standards. We had a slight issue at one point in our stay, which was immediately fixed with smiles. I would stay here over and over again!!!!!! Absolutely worth it and the area is nice and quiet.
This is a pleasant little hotel close to a lot of things in downtown Syracuse. Kind of retro overall; especially when you first walk in- like an old Humphrey Bogart movie. They provided a shuttle which was very convenient when we needed transportation to and from the Oncenter. Only 5 min from Oncenter. Drivers great! Room comfortable. Full breakfast excellent. Only thing is a limited menu if youre in for supper. Free parking in back. Nice wait and desk staff. Id stay here again.
Pros- comfiest bed I ever slept on. I wanted to live there it was such a nice bed. The suite was nice I wish it had a cook top since I dont use a microwave. The breakfast staff were so friendly.Cons- Breakfast was okay but Ive had better at a quality inn. The staff Werent very friendly. Being snippy and inconvinened by our question. (Idk I dont work here). The woman the next day wasnt very nice either very irritated and huffy puffy. We didnt even get a card key until an hour before we checked out because the machine was broken. We werent compensated for the inconvinened. But given aditude anytime we needed to be let in our suite.Even though the room was fabulous I wouldnt want to stay here again. I cant stand to be treated so poorly when paying money to stay in a suite instead of a regular room. As well as the card key machine being down isnt my fault eaither. I can feel for the employees and kept positive but it really made my thoughts about the hotel a downer.
Got an amazing (probably fluke) deal. Room was great! Super comfortable bed. Loved that there was a little kitchenette with fridge, sink, and microwave. Decent free breakfast in the morning. Clean room. Quiet. Bonus we could walk to Strong Hearts cafe! Only thing was there were only about 6 tv stations: HBO, 3 ESPNs, WCNY, and a static station. Would definitely stay again!
We needed a hotel that was close to Crouse Hospital (2 blocks) and were very happy that we chose the Parkview. The room was clean, the hotel well-maintained, the staff courteous, the coffee great, and the breakfast delicious. We had a medical emergency at the hospital and they quickly provided us transportation. Parking was free at the hotel. Their room price was half the competition, but we lacked for nothing. Great, boutique hotel!
Very nice room & view. EZ check in.After using the bathroom Ive downgraded my review. The TP holder fell apart, the economy bar of soap in shower shattered immediately, the shower leaked all over the floor and the water is overly chlorinated. I stayed in the city all week with a friend, her water was fine.
Loved the Staff, parking & breakfast included.Rooms r very nice...but broke my foot due to large, splippery marble thresholds from room to bath (in a handicap accessable room - with a tub(very large step to get in & a wall divider for toilet that NO wheelchair could get into??) ???). Would have given a 4.5 star for Hotel if not for that the front desk staff+ all knew I had broken my foot there & had 2 ask THEM for an insurance incident report for their insurance co, after more than a week?!? Not to mention, NO ONE offered an compensation at all, still in process of suing (if manager would have called or even called me back, maybe we could have worked it out ambilicly-guess will NEVER know?!?) Again, Too bad-nice Hotel, just dont get hurt because of something that was the Hotels fault-NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. (BTW-Did i mention I stayed there while my Mother was in ICU DYING?)
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was the most affordable of the nicer hotels in the area, and very close to downtown. Theres an attached cafe/bar/bistro as well, which had excellent food. The room was extremely nice: clean, roomy, kitchenette, swivel-LCD TV, and a really nice bathroom. An unexpected plus, the hotel uses all eco-friendly soaps/shampoos/linens, etc. The kitchenette was stocked with dishes, silverware, a toaster, mini fridge and a microwave. Lobby is very large and cozy with a fireplace, and 2 computers for customer use. Free wifi in the rooms. The only critique I can come up with: there was no bottle opener in the room, nor at the front desk. Ended up using the counter to pop the tops off a couple drinks. On another note, very sturdy counters!
Very nice hotel that looks like it must have been recently renovated. Very Very very Clean upscale urban feel with a budget minded price. We didnt have time to explore the area but were happy with our stay and very confortable. Hotel was easily accessed from the thruway and much less expensive than the franchise hotels along the thruway.
Our plans changed and we called the day before to reschedule, but they would not refund our stay, saying it was βpolicy.β No doubt they rebooked our room, as busy as all hotels were with the UVA game. We have a freshman at Syracuse and travel constantly for work and leisure. Itβs in the best interest to work with clients... theyβre dead to us now.
I checked out yesterday and definitely left something a little bit expensive in the room. There is no lost and found. Tried to call them all day but no reply my call. I drove 2 and half hour back here try to get my stuff back and they just told me they didnβt find anything. Just donβt forget anything here.
No remote for the TV, two days and constant issues with the coffee pot, microwave comes on when open and there was a hairs in the bed sheets. Not a Best stay at a Best Western...To follow up. As I am a communication major at SU - they REALLY are on top of theyre social media listening game! I posted this Saturday morning and came back to the room to a letter of apology... corectly done!Everyone, place, has bad days or things just happen. Its how this world works. Im sure not everyones experience is or was like mine...the bad stuff anyway.Thank you Parkview Hotel! Ms Evans
Just a great place! Recently renovated the lounge area. Its the kind of place that you want to hang out and relax at. Take a look inside by clicking on the See Inside image on the right side of this page. The Google Virtual Tour will enable you to walk around in the Parkview Hotel.
Surprised to so many good comments to this hotel... Is it the same hotel right beside Crown Plaza??I was misled to there by priceline, but so disappointed to this old old silly hotel.... The elevator is slow and shaking, the room is big but so poorly decorated and dirty ...

2022-04-10A beautiful historic hotel. Very welcoming entrance at the front desk. We stayed in room 209, very large open space, Two beds. Our room in general fits 4 adults and there was plenty of space to move around comfortably. The room had a small fridge and microwave. Theres no smoking in building, however easy plenty of outdoor smoking. This place is clean and friendly. I stayed here for Bob Weir show and was 0.5 miles from landmark theater. Great location

2022-04-18Reserving the room was easy with Shayla over the phone. She is very pleasant and professional. Check in was easy and fast didnt get the name of the young lady that was running the front desk on April 17th & 18th, she as well was very helpful and made our stay feel like a second home. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we will be requesting it again in the future. We found our hotel for when we are staying in Syracuse

2022-03-18Positive: Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Negative: Advertised as having high-speed internet, so we booked it thinking we can work. But the WIFI was incredibly slow, so we had to leave after a few hours there. We wanted to get a refund or at least a partial refund, but cant get in touch with management.

2021-11-14The first hotel I stayed in the United States. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the breakfast is good. After making an appointment to the apartment, the waiter helped me book a taxi to transport my luggage.
