Re-review after a ton of months not being able to get up to Lockport, still not disappointed! The place was busy between the Bills game and the games at the rink, service was quick and attentive and the food out quick and hot. We will not make it so long before coming back next time!
Walked in with my wife and son, was withing for the floor waitress to look up, was pounding something on a tablet, she looked at me and said in a nasty voice I will get to you when I get done with what Im doing. I didnt say anything. A few minutes later the bartender seated us? Was very pleasant and fun. We had the battered mushrooms. They were cooked to the point of bring mush inside. Fried dumplings were good. French connection sandwiches were good, burgers was ordered, no one asked how my son wanted it cooked, came out rare. All our onion rings were overcooked also. This was our first time trying the Penalty Box. Sadly our last also. Btw, table was dirty also. My wife had to clean it off with napkins.

Service was ok. Atmosphere more of a bar than a place to eat. Decent menu, kids meals dont include drinks. My sons rookie burger was burnt and taken off the bill but by the time we were asked how everything was we couldnt wait for something else to be cooked. Both my daughters mini pizzas were over cooked, my sandwich, The Aud was ok, for some reason half of it was super soggy, wife had the cheese steak and said it was ok. Fries and onion rings seemed to have been cooked in oil that was dirty and in need of being changed. Would not stop back.
Home for the holiday weekend watching Tampa Bay beat the Canadians in the Stanley Cup finals, great food, nice beer selection & Cocktails. Beef on weck was great. About to try the pizza, mini tacos & will be back to try the wings.Great atmosphere & people (both employees & patrons) would recommend this spot if youre visiting the area or live nearby.

We ordered from the penalty box through door dash today. Sometimes ordering through DD can suck because by the time the driver gets it to you its cold and soggy etc. we are not comfortable yet going out to eat in the pandemic though, so take out is our only optionThe food was AMAZING. everything was still hot and crispy. The pickle fries were a delight and my sliders were the best I’ve ever had. My husband’s salad was a HUGE portion and the French dip was fantastic. We can’t wait to order from them again! Bravo!

Very nice. It was the first time I was there. They have a restaurant/ bar on the main level. Below is a small gear shop. If you have mobility issues, theres an elevator to go between.
Took my youngest son and his friends to the ice rink in lockport, the Penalty box is a restaurant that is attached. The food was great, the service was pleasant, did not order and adult beverage but the bar looked great. I would definitely get a drink with friends there.
Our waiter was also the bartender. He was extremely busy but that didnt stop him from being one of the best waiters weve had. The food was delicious and it came out in a timely fashion. We will most certainly come back again.
Anybody who is thinking about joining the penalty box crew may want to reconsider. I had a recent loss in my family and requested time to go to his viewing and the funeral and was told “no” and “hope it’s on your day off” instead of them having sympathy or understanding that death is unexpected. I was told that maybe the job isn’t for me due to my grieving. Thank you Nancy for not understanding that I am a single mother and needed this job so I could provide for my children.

I cannot tell you- how much i love this place. Its hard to put into words, but lets try...1. Most imp, the food is delicious! They love to cook up creative and divine dishes. The pizza choices alone- would make this place legit.2. All employees are very kind as far as ive seen3.whether dining in or not- the location is VERY CLEAN AND COZY! Artwork is very neat! With a consistent theme throughout.4.All patrons are kind and considerate5. As a single women i feel comfortable there, like i wont be jumped on by any single males, everyones really respectful is my point.If you want a great time, great food and a cozy surrounding, this will be your new spot, i promise!!!
The food was very good. The service was fast, which worked out well as we were in a bit of a rush. Our server wasn’t overly friendly, but to be fair the place was packed and she seemed to be working alone. Overall a good little bar that’s handy to the rink.
I like this place, decent food and nice venue. I noticed something that I didn’t like though, the pint glasses are not 16 ounces. My girlfriend ordered a 16 ounce can of pbr and after drinking a couple ounces tried to pour it into a glass and it didn’t fit. There was a couple ounces left in a can. When you pay for a pint of beer I’m guessing you’re actually getting 12 ounces if it’s poured to the rim, probably close to 10 ounces if there’s foam or room at the top. That’s pretty shady.

The food is great but you have one of rudest and most inconsiderate waitresses I’ve ever had here. It seemed like it was just an inconvenience for her to be serving us and constantly telling us what she couldn’t do for us. The last 2 times we have come in and have been served by her, it’s been the same poor attitude and same poor service. She’s making a great little spot in Lockport, a poor place to go to.

Phenomenal pizza. I have become picky with my pizza and no longer can eat your standard cold cut and marinara style pizza. I also dont really like the local sweet style and gravitate towards white sauces. Add in chicken and some vegetables and Im your guy. New York has been great with pizza and the Penalty Box is another prime example. I had the Eagle Philly Cheese Steak Pizza and Ill definitely order it again. Im torn between them and Frankies Pizza and Sub, where I get the Stingers Pizza.
Had a break between ceremony and a reception at Becker Farms. Had lunch at this place wiht a few beers. Great food. One of the best orders of fingers and fries I ever had.
Loved everything about this place. Wish it was 2x the size! I’m sure there are slow times, but when hockey is going, they pack them in and service is still pretty quick. Food is good.
Its an awesome place to have great food and drinks Their staff is all wonderful. If you want the added bonus surrounded by sports on TV...this is the place to be. Great daily specials too!
Have been a bartender for 3 years myself I strongly recommend that Christina know the difference between a couple of friends that are having a good time and a couple of friends that are drunk it should not have taken 6 times of yelling at the girl and banging are empty beer bottles against the counter to get the girls To notice us to service another drink we took her business to Gonzos and had a much more pleasant night then we did at Penalty Box well being a bartender myself I do understand it is up to the bartender discretion to decide when a customer is under the influence but if she wasnt so busy talking to other customers and actually serving the people that came up to the bar we would not have had an issue

Our fave hometown bar in Lockport. Staff are fantastic, as are the grilled cheese sandwiches and fried pickles. Great for hockey parents too.

Food is average, drinks as well. Sometimes, even though its not too busy, it takes a while to get an order in, and have had multiple orders forgotten. Staff is friendly, just seem overwhelmed at times.

2021-08-10Great food and service, overall! The quality of food was high, with a menu that gives a good variety of food to choose from. My family and I went on a Thursday evening and it was not too busy. If you are fan of chicken wings, they do an amazing job! Ours were cooked to near-perfection.

2022-03-01Stopped in after a hockey game for a beer and some food. Very surprised by the freshness and quality of the food I had! I had the mustang chicken sandwich and opted for the house salad, my wife had Rueben sliders with fries and my son had chicken fingers. We also had some macaroni cheese balls appetizer and root beer wings. The wings were on point! Grilled to perfection and an interesting taste. I only live minutes away and I will be back for sure! Great food, great atmosphere, good service all make for a great business! And it’s locally owned and not a chain!

2021-03-20My family wanted a change for movie night so we ordered chicken fingers and fries. The wait staff was polite but not very informative when asked about portions and sizes. While I liked being able to order takeout, the fact that I had to walk in to pay for and get my order was a small hassle with no parking available. The worst part was that the place was crammed shoulder to shoulder without a single mask to be seen aside from the staff. It was very unnerving. Im sad to say I was not very impressed with the food. The price, $10 before tax for each, wasnt awful but would have been better if the quality was better. We got exactly what we could have made ourselves from store bought frozen products. Absolutely no difference whatsoever aside from the price. Weve made the exact same things for around $2.00 per person. So many food places use the same items and we had only wished for something better than that. Anything different would have made it worthwhile. We may try something else if we decide to order from there in the future but I dont know if we will get the fingers again.

2022-07-10The wings were exactly how I like them. Crunch, great medium flavor and just enough sauce without being too saucy or messy. The beef on weck was tender, very beefy flavor, the bun had a good of salt and seeds without being too salty and the horse radish had the right amount of sinus burn!
