Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable and prompt. Food was excellent, fries are great. Good atmosphere great music playing in the background. Was just a perfect little lunch stop.
Great beer and food. Good prices. Nice people in this townie bar.
Two meals came out with ingredients on them not listed on the menu, which happen to be against dietary restrictions. One meal was forgotten about, food took a long while despite being mostly empty.
Hey wing fantastics! Were with another review at The Public House of Buffalo, Inc. The wings did #RespectTheCrisp but the sauce did not have enough heat and the blue cheese wasn’t to our standards so the final rating is a 7.3Though the wings weren’t our highest rated the atmosphere was fun, with kind servers and staff. Good drinks and some of the best poutine Ive had in a while.
At first, I had a great time. Nice bartender which seemed to be the owner and played good music. Then when I left the bar, my card was charged twice, one of which had a total different amount that I did not buy anything with. I tried getting ahold of the owner and spoke to many different employees for about 4 days. Finally when I spoke to someone about the situation (Im convinced it was the owner), he was being so rude and nasty about it and hung the phone up on my mid sentence. All in all, I would never go back and definitely advise my friends not to.
Great staff and great food. The place is very inviting, it just has a familiarity about it that reminds you of home. Beer selection is 2nd to none. The food is well above from what you would expect from typical pub. I will certainly recomend this place to friends and family alike. GREAT JOB KEEP IT COMING GUYS.
The first experience I had here was questionable at best. But it was opening week. The second was decent. But the third...the third was great. We ran into the owner and he was tending bar. When you think Buffalo, you should think of Frank. He welcomed us, he shook our hands, he remembered our names, and he took care of us. This is what a Buffalo bar should be. Not too upscale and not too dive. Great music, an expansive craft selection, and a menu that spans beyond the traditional fare. So if youre looking for a place to go out? Go to a place where the owner shakes your hand personally. Go to a place where the owner remembers your names, remembers your job, and remembers your preferences. If its been awhile since you had that then I would think its pretty obvious where you should go.
I really enjoy going to the public house. Frank always has an excellent beer selection to choose from. They menu is full of local favorites. Whether its a meal or a game, you wont be disappointed.
Best spot on Hertel hands down. Food is incredible with a massive beer list, and super friendly staff PH cant be beat. Make sure to check out the special meal of the day, its always something good.
Great place to stop for a drink. They do have a good beer selection. The food is okay. There are so many better places to eat on Hertel. Worst French onion soup Ive ever had in my life.

This place has an outstanding Fish fry. It is huge! Perfectly cookied, and great timing. Not too pricey either. Bar like environment, a bit dark in there. Family friendly.

I went here for lunch with a friend today and it was great! We felt welcome the minute we walked in. The bartender greeted us and was friendly, the patrons were nice, our waitress was great, and the food was tasty!
Public house is a great Hertel haunt. Awesome beer selection with delicious pub grub food. Staff is always super friendly.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I order French onion soup and a grilled chicken salad. OMG, I was so hopeful that this place would have good food. The French onion soup had pretty much no cheese, a full bay leave in it that landed in my mouth, and so much salt I could NOT eat it. They should call it salt soup not French onion. The salad was also horrible. The chicken had so much pepper on it, I could only taste the pepper and nothing else. The worst food on Hertal. The only reason I gave two stars is because the bartender was a very nice girl (didnt catch her name). The cook needs to go if this place is going to serve food.

2017-06-16Stopped by first time for lunch on a Friday. Sitting on the patio enjoying a beautiful day. Had the grouper taco (2) and it was amazing with a bit of kick from the blackened spices. Only the bartender working but he did a great job of service coming out to the patio but there was only 1 customer inside and 2 outside. Surprised craft beer was full price ($6) and no happy hour at 11:30 in morning.Will come again.

2021-12-12Walked in without knowing what to expect. The food was phenomenal. They only had a bartender working front-of-house at the time we visited, so it was slightly confusing until we figured out what we were supposed to do for a table (just sit down at one). But the food was heavenly. Seriously, eat the food.

2021-11-24Public House had a great beer menu with many local options. The food menu is limited but good. The pizza logs were especially good. We went for trivia, but it was not as good as we had hoped. Will probably go somewhere else for trivia.

2021-03-27Ive been here several times and overall have a decent experience. Plenty of drink selections and food is good. But last night (as well as the past few times Ive been there) the bartenders are more concerned with their own level of fun as well as playing darts with their friends and taking call on their cellphones behind the bar than taking care of their customers... had to ask several times for drinks, food orders, etc.Im sure Ill end up back there again, but its def not my go-to spot..

2021-07-21Awesome food. We went on tuesday and it was trivia night.. .so it was a little loud when they were doing that, but as soon as it ended, it was very reasonable. The beer selection was top notch! The cocktails were great and the liquor options were stellar! Not a while bunch of vegetarian options, so thats the one recommendation Id have for them to get on their menu. At the very least have a salad? But the food was great....come hungry! Between me and my eating partner, we had about 4 huge potatoes worth of fries. We couldnt eat them all.Ill be back for sure.

2021-07-16Went here last night with my wife and a couple friends. The waitress forgot my wifes order and had to go rush to put it in when the rest of our food arrived. The chef put cheese on my pulled pork sandwich, which wasnt supposed to come with cheese in the first place, and I cant have cheese. When my wifes sandwich came, it had a bacon jam on it, which was also not supposed to be on the sandwich, and also she cannot have because she is Jewish. All in all completely disorganized and we wont be returning

2021-09-01Frank was a great guy very nice and very polite.The food was great I had a Hamburger and frys very tasty I enjoy myself at the bar enjoy good food around good people and the prices $$ very affordable I differently recommend The Public House for good food and good fun.PS thank you Frank for making me comfortable at your bar.Paul the painter
