We held our wedding reception here and it was wonderful! Our guests gave us nothing but compliments on our choice of venue, and their overnight stay. The entire staff was well prepared, attentive, and accommodated every request we had. Food was great, atmosphere is perfect if youre into the rustic, small town feel, and the view of the Seneca River is gorgeous. The rooms were clean and comfortable with many having a river view, and the continental breakfast was good too! The only downside is the limited parking space, though there is room for overflow parking down the street. If we did it all again, we wouldnt change a thing! Thank you to our friends at the Red Mill Inn
My wife and I booked this hotel for a Baldwinsville High School Reunion event. Unfortunately there was also a wedding booked for the same weekend. Many of the wedding guests were obnoxiously noisy and disrespectful of other guests. There was yelling and screaming in the hallways, slamming of doors, and foul language. We had a horrible experience. When we complained at the front desk, they told us to check before coming and if theres an event booked then best not to stay there. Please take this under advisement before you book your stay!
Beautiful converted mill with some of what appear to be the original hand hewn posts still exposed in the rooms and hallways. Very clean and up to date. Their own line of shower goods. Dog friendly. Great staff. Views of lock 24 and surrounding water system. We will definitely be back!
The Red Mill Inn was a very nice and quaint place to stay in Baldwinsville. Rooms were clean, staff was very nice. It is located in a beautiful location right on the river that is close to many restaurants and bars. The only negative was that I kept getting an automatic wake up call at 6 am every morning that I didnt request. Will definitely stay here again when I am in the area.
Was quoted one price but when checking out was charged more because the wedding party booked less than 10 rooms. They should have sent an email informing of the price change. No microwave or mini refrigerator in the room. Advertised a pub, but wasnt open Friday or Saturday night. Can get a lot better and cheaper accommodations by booking on hot wire.
Room was large. And way over priced. Was quoted one price over the phone then charged almost 100 dollars more on check out. 200 dollars per night for a 3 star hotel? Room was fairly clean but no fridge or any other perks you might expect with a 200 dollar room. On top of this my daughter booked 3 rooms and they tried to charge her more than double the price they quoted her for her room alone. Not happy and dont recommend unless you get the price in writing first.
The mill was originally built in 1828 as a three-story grist mill. The mill operated until 2002. Fast forward to 2005 when it was completely refurbished as an inn & Conference Center. The location is wonderful, bounded by the Seneca River on one side and lock 24 of the New York State Erie Canal on the other side. The outside and the inside appearance overall preserves the historical nature of the building. The Inns staff were very pleasant and helpful. The conference rooms and guest rooms are very comfortable. The wonderful scenery in every direction makes your stay very enjoyable.
Warm cozy, great views of block in the river built on the skeleton of an old Flour Mill this hotel features comfort and Grace. No theres not a pool and no theres not an attraction very close by but there is a cute little town with everything within walking distance in a 24-hour diner bar across street great food
A great little hotel. We stayed for a week and room service did an excellent job. It would have been nice to see the pub hours posted clearly. I wanted to check it out but I could never figure out when it was open.Ill definitely stay here again the next time Im in baldwinsville
Very disappointed in our stay at the Red Mill Inn desk staff lost reservation after placing over over a month in adavnce said we were not registered. 1st night... After cheking in, someone else was assigned the room, and was able to access the room, thank god we were there. Second night we had to switch rooms to accommodate another guest who was having a party. We were put in their so called best room with a very narrow spiral staircase to bedroom and the bathroom was located on the first floor of the room, no A/C on the upper level only a fan. No real views from your room, no sitting area outside, also The restaurant and pub never opened and could not get batteries for remotes. The only real good thing about it was the fact that the bed and pillows were very comfortable. As first time customers we felt very slighted and unappreciated
This place is totally adorbs! We picked this hotel which is actually 20 miles out of the way we were going just because it seemed like such a cool locale! Apparently it is on an island and once was a paper mill? Anywho we love it and can totally see it as the scene of a Nancy Drew novel The Mystery at Red Mill Inn lol
Softest, most luxurious towels, custom made bath products, beautiful bedding and furniture, coffeemaker and supplies, very comfortable beds and pillows, and overall great service. Only drawback is not having a pool, microwave and fridge, but the river and canal views from our windows and these gorgeous Christmas decorations make up for it. This morning they had a buffet breakfast and Santa greet. Check out the Red Mill Inn.
I have enjoyed living on a man made island, this my third day dwelling upon it. In America, we call this dwelling the Red Mill. In France, the locals might call this domicile the Moulin Rouge. The island has stood near the powerful waters of the Seneca River for at least a hundred years, and that water once drove the paddle wheel of the Mercer Mill. The family left the city a park on the north shore near the mill to commemorate the family. From my current perch in a banquet hall, I hear roaring as the Seneca River goes over a coffer dam, the head of water about a foot high. An opening that could be closed by a sluice gate has roiling white waters. You could call it a slice of Niagara Falls. I guess the sluice gate closes when the lock must raise or lower a boat, lock 24 on the barge canal. The canal passes on the south side of the old mill. I see across the waters at the old part of the city, containing the City Hall and the Methodist Church. I know the Methodist have progressed twenty two minutes into their early service at Nine. I wont be joining the congregation until 10:30 AM. Why rush off the island, peaceful and safe on a Sunday morning but for the white noise of a great river full of melted snow.I am reminded of the Bonnymill Inn of Chesaning, Michigan, where I stayed not once but twice while attending weddings. It too had been converted lovingly from an old mill to a house of hospitality.Ive stayed on the third floor where the roof angle makes the space feel like a garrett, traditionally a good place for writers to write. I wouldnt call it an attic because the angle isnt that severe. The ceiling is mostly flat. The exposed beams of the mill have fascinated me endlessly, carved straight from the trunks of trees. I can see the marks of adzes that hewed flat the beams, adzes swung by workmen of yesteryear. I have admired the two types of joins, either by dove tails or hand carved pegs that still hold tight in hand bored holes. These joins still do the work of keeping the mill upright although modern architecture has to be at work. Has to be at work although the room betrays no sign of modern techniques. Its a good room for sleeping and for contemplating the past.
Very nice rooms, decent beds and nice staff. Breakfast is a bit bare and inflexible(6-9am), and the entertainment centers are bare, but if you dont mind that stuff its a pretty good option in the heart of a small town, with lots of good food options around. Pretty good deal.
Horrible customer service with zero follow through. Tried booking a block of rooms for my wedding in May 2016. Called and left a voicemail mid-January. No response. Followed up a few days later with an email submission through their website. No response. Called January 26th and actually spoke to Jim, discussed room blocks. Jim said he would email me an agreement of what we talked about. Nothing. No email. Followed up with a call on February 2nd, left a message for Jim to call me back. No response. Im incredibly disappointed at their lack of customer service especially after my venue recommended them to me for my out of town guests.
Less than pleased with my overall stay at the red mill inn called ahead to check in early being I had a wedding to be at was told ok no problem then I get here and had to wait over an hour to check in even carrying us passed a normal check in time staff was rude and unpleasant about the whole thing then after the wedding we came back and the bar as advertised to be here was not open and when I told hotel staff they again were rude and dismissive and now I just woke up thought I’d check out the breakfast yea what a waste it’s Togo cereal cups and some juice so sorry red mill but this will be a one and done stay for me never again
DO NOT BOOK ROOM AT WEDDING RATES, i WAS TOLD BY STAFF I WAS GETTING DISCOUNT WEDDING PARTY RATE, ENDED UP PAYING $152.00 FOR A 1 BED ROOM WITH VERY NASTY CARPETING. EVERYONE WHO BOOKED THRU EXPEDIA PAYED UP TO $70.00 LESS. LESSON LEARNED THE HARD WAY. WHEN I CHECKED THE NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING TO SEE IF THERE WERE BLOWDRYERS IN THE ROOM, A DOUBLE BED ROOM, TWICE THE SIZE WAS OFFERED FOR $99.00 WHEN I CALLED THE STAFF WOULD NOT HONOR THERE OWN INTERNET RATE. VERY, VERY DISAPOINTED WITH THE HOTEL AND STAFF. WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN

2017-11-10Beautiful, unique location at a budget friendly price. Comfortable, clean, home like rooms with exposed beams and a short walk to excellent local restaurants.Their home made soaps, shampoo, and conditioner in complimentary in the room were great. I bought a bar at the front desk when I checked out.Stained glass lamps and stole bit elegant furniture added a sense of it being special. The windows were low on the third floor, making it harder to see the views, but also super comfortable.Breakfast was basic but good (Bagels, Danish, cereal).Great option for families.

2017-07-12They hosted my sons wedding reception of about 100 guests and it was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room I shared with my wife and son was very nice with an incredible view of the river. What a nice town! This would be a great place to spend some vacation time. I highly recommend the Red Mill Inn.

2019-01-19This place is such a cute cozy cottage! The moment I walked in I was greeted with friendly staff and the smells of winter! My room was comfortable and spacious, the dining area was small but quaint with a beautiful fireplace! It is also within walking distance to everything in the city center. I travel to Baldwinsville a lot and will stay here again! My only regret is not staying here sooner!

2017-12-26The hotel is quaint and nicely appointed. All the necessities are there. The water temperature had issues, but did eventually correct itself. The bed was a bit stiff, but welcoming. I would give them another half star if it was possible. The area is so historic especially for me as I grew up in Baldwinsville. This is for sure a nice place to stay!

2019-09-20Like going back in time. Found this hotel and knew immediately I would enjoy my stay. Tons of historic vibes from the building and the staff made it much more enjoyable. You would be surprised how much it means when the front desk reps are kind and helpful. Far too many places out there have a decent establishment, but get overshadowed by rude or inconsiderate staff. Will be back for sure!

2016-09-07Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room, its view, accommodation, and front desk clerks were all superb. Clean (and spacious) room, beyond comfortable bed. Theres a little spot when you first drive in with two adirondack chairs overlooking the water. You can see people fishing off of the bridge, the lively seagulls (who want to come right up to you)... perfect touch. Great place to unwind for an evening. Great restaurants and live music in very close proximity!

2018-02-13Nice & cozy little inn in CNY. Very close to downtown, within walking distance to some nice bars and restaurants. Very pretty location. Room was a bit on the small side but had good amenities. Thin walls, though; we could hear people passing in the hallway. They provide homemade soap in the bathrooms! Didnt wake up early enough for the free breakfast, which is about as much a ringing endorsement for the beds as you can get.

2018-12-17We loved our stay. Room was clean. Price reasonable. Included a small breakfast which was great. We’d stay again here in a second. The canal locks are on one side of the inn and the river/dam is on the other side to make a great view.

2019-09-24A wonderful; place within a block or two of superb restaurants, bars, boutique shops. Clean, quiet, contemporary while honoring historic roots.. The rooms are like being at home, away from home. WiFi works perfectly, many of the local establishments deliver to the hotel. Picturesque view of the river and the bridge, the bridge and small dam light up at night - and they even have a small dedicated fishing hole for guests on the river. This is what local hotels used to be like, and should be - and the rates are IMHO VERY reasonable. Highly recommended. Going back there in a week, and I cant wait.
