We frequent the Ritz Carlton brand and the NYC Central Park Ritz is one of the best Ritz Carltons weve visited. The rooms are impeccably appointed, the view is amazing and the amenities are outstanding. Not to mention how friendly and attentive the staff are. What a first class operation!
I enjoyed my stay as I normally do at any Ritz Carlton I stay at. I was abit disappointed as the Club Lounge was closed. I enjoyed my corner room and the decor of the hotel, room, bar and surroundings. Was very nice to be next to Central Park to enjoy everyday as well as times Square. The staff was excellent, especially Joe, the doorman. Thank you Joe for making me feel my Elite Status was appreciated without you even knowing. As a member of the National Press Club of Washington DC and Founder of Get Up Radio / Get Up Radio Media I enjoyed how detailed and informative every staff member was towards me. I will definitely stay here again after I try staying at St. REGIS Hiotel my next New York visit. Definitely nice for couples or romantic events. If you want to experience a nice quiet but romantic atmosphere then stay here. I enjoyed the privacy that I desire when possible. ENJOY!
Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton NY Central Park exceeded our expectations by far. The location across the street from Central Park was perfect and the views were beautiful. The entire staff was exceptionally attentive and we were always greeted with warm smiles. The updated rooms and marble baths were very pristine and comfortable with ample space. We look forward to our next visit very soon.
After returning back to the hotel after 4am extremely tired, and eager to go to bed I noticed that one of the darker blinds would not go down. I called the front desk for assistance but the person that came was not able to fix the blinds. This was very disappointing because I like to sleep in the dark. The person that I was communicating with at the front desk offered me some options and was very courteous. However, I don’t think that it would have been fair for me to have to move to a room on the 5th floor when my preference is a room on the high floor and I also paid more money to experience the Central Park view and the room that was available did not have a view to central park. Therefore, I ended up deciding to stay in my room with a black plastic bag taped to the window with the broken blinds. This is a horrible experience for a place as the Ritz Carlton and I choose to stay at the Ritz for a reason because I expect nothing but the best. I always have a great experience at location is Florida which is where I’m from. After expressing my unhappiness I requested a credit, the guy that I spoke to from the front desk offered a credit, but wasn’t sure what could be done. I believe that it’s important for you to know what happened to prevent this from happening again and I look forward to seeing how I will be compensated for this not go pleasing experience because even though the blinds are working fine now, I believe this should have never happens in the first place and when I finally went to bed the sun was rising outside. I didn’t think of writing a letter, but the engineer who came fixed the blinds suggested that I write one.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Providing feedback simply to help you improve our next stay and others. 1. Coffee in lobby for early risers.2. Would’ve enjoyed a drink in the lobby. 3. No food service in the restaurant /lobby area. Guessing this is based on Covid restrictions. Thanks
From the moment we walked in we were treated with kindness. Our room was AMAZING with great views of the park! Room service was on point! Staff was friendly and always helpful! Only downfall was that the restaurant, bar, and spa were still closed down due to Covid. But again, room service was great….and we were given recommendations of restaurants in the area to eat at!
Theres nothing worse than anticappointment. That is the feeling something is going to be great - until you finally found out its average. But that was my time at the Ritz-Carlton. Staff service vacillated from being fantastic to being too overwhelmed and too busy to talk to me. While the room service was fast, the menu was uninspired. While I was paying just a little over a thousand a night, the view I was able to get was underwhelming - and so was the space.
The location is fantastic and overall the hotel is very clean with an amazing staff. We would expect the windows to be clean, especially when you have selected a room with a view. One of the two windows in our room was filthy and hard to see through. It was very obvious from the moment we walked in, it should not have been left that way.
Traveling to NYC to visit friends after a long break because of Covid-19, could not have been more relaxing. Love the location on Central Park South. Brought my husband and little king charles along. Staff was so accommodating. As a Titanium Elite also appreciated the suite upgrade. Lovely stay, would return tomorrow
Maria/Bernd, Concierges-as well as the bellmen at the Ritz-Carlton on South Central Park made our special day even more perfect as we renewed our 20th anniversary wedding vows in Central Park. They coordinated flowers, hair, car service, rooms, food, pressing clothes and even our journey to get to the Ladie’s pavillion. I would highly recommend this stunning venue for any special occasion and can’t wait to go back! Mazel tov
From the moment we arrived the staff was cordial and welcoming. We were celebrating my birthday and the 2-night getaway at this fabulous hotel was special. Any questions we had were immediately addressed. We had no issues whatsoever. Jenny Liu at the front desk was especially accommodating and always greeted us with a big smile. We had a beautiful room with a fantastic view of Central Park. Cant get better than that! The room decorwas gorgeous and it was so quiet that we had a great rest. Room service was a real treat, delivered quickly and super luxuriously presented. We felt so special! We plan to come back in the future.
We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for our visit to NYC. It was for both the San Gennaro feast and for celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary. The location cannot be beat - right across from Central Park with easy access to restaurants, entertainment and transportation. The staff was amazing in every way - very attentive and caring, from the time you are greeted to the check in and all the way to the time of departure. The gastro-lounge has a wonderful ambience and is decorated in a classic style. We werent very hungry after our day at the San Gennaro feast and the food at the gastrolounge was just right and we were able to relax and have a great night. Our room had a partial view of the Central Park - the view was great. The room was very tastefully decorated, with enough room and bathroom was spacious. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and hope to visit again soon.
This hotel offers the perfect location while staying in New York. The rooms have been recently remodeled, and they are tastefully decorated and comfy. The bed is amazing! We slept so well when we were there, and we did not hear any outside noise. The bathrooms are quite luxurious . Space is at a premium here, and they have made the most of their limited space. While there are no coffee makers in the room, if you request them, they will send one up. Highly recommend this hotel!
It was our first stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Central Park, New York, but definitely will not be our last. Everything about the Hotel and its staff was AMAZING. The Hotel has been recently renovated and is very elegantly decorated, the staff is very welcoming and really go out of their way to make your stay special. The service and overall experience was PERFECT!! The staff knew it was my wifes birthday and went out of their way to make our stay extra special. They offered us a glass of complimentary champagne upon check in, as well as a upgraded room. The view from our suite over looking Central Park was second to none and the location of the hotel is very convenient to many different attractions in New York. Thank you to the entire Ritz-Carlton Team, for making our stay truly WONDERFUL !!!Dana Perone
We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park to celebrate my wifes 50th birthday. From the moment we checked in, the entire staff acknowledged the special occasion and went out of their way to make the experience memorable. On the day of her birthday, we returned to the room to find a cake, macaroons and a Happy Birthday banner strung across the window. So thoughtful! From the bellmen to the concierge, the hospitality of staff at this hotel was personalized and impeccable. The room was large and luxurious by NY City standards and the location was perfect. Central Park is directly across the street and we were within easy walking distance to the skating rink, Columbus Circle and all of the great shopping on 5th and Madison avenues. What a perfect place to stay--particularly for a special occasion!
After staying at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, it is close to impossible to stay anywhere else when you visit the city. The service, ambiance, food, and overall attention to all details is exceptional. This particular weekend we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and every time we turned around we were being surprised with gifts, pertaining to our anniversary. We were always so surprised at the lengths the staff went to, to make our stay so special. This particular weekend was also Valentine’s Day weekend. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the lounge and it was so nice when our server brought over flowers for us, for Valentine’s Day. The concierge was able to secure a very sought-after dinner reservation for us and it was an amazing evening all thanks to him; the restaurant he suggested was top notch! We couldn’t be happier with the experience we had staying here. We will definitely be returning.
Stayed overnight to see BWay show. Room upgrade for Marriot Envoy rewards was nice. The bathroom was lovely. Service not really Ritz level, I felt. The new combo with Marriot Envoy on line, etc does not appear to me to be improving Ritz brand. Lounge was Nice but food choices were odd and sparse to me. Exception was breakfast which was nice. In room dining was just not up to what it should have been. Food prep and choice ordinary.
We decided to stay at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park for a special occasion. The experience was one of the best we have ever had at any hotel and we are world travelers. The Club Level was spectacular, well worth the upgrade, as is the Park view room. The hotel has recently gone through a refurbishment and it is lovely. The rooms are spacious and elegant. Everything was perfection! The staff at the Ritz-Carlton made us feel so special and pampered. They treated us like family and made our special occasion even more special and memorable.
The Ritz Carlton central park exceeds all expectations from the moment you pull up from the friendly and helpful doorman to reception And concierge’s this hotel has everything you could want and more. The lounge is beautiful warm and inviting. The bartenders are all professional and really know how to mix a good cocktail. And let’s not forget the best part the bed! The beds At Marriott luxury hotels cannot be competed with especially the Ritz Carlton Central Park. Thank you to the staff I appreciate your attention to detail as well as your willingness to help. Our stays here are always amazing and I would recommend this hotel above all others in the city.
Spectacular stay! I absolutely love the attention to detail that the hotel staff has shown. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff had left champagne and strawberries on arrival. We were asked for our plans before arrival and the guest relations manager left small mementos in our room after each event. This was greatly appreciated and showed the attention to detail we enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and responsive - we needed a few items during our stay and they were always provided in a very timely manner. The rooms get very spacious for NY and were very clean.I am absolutely sold on the Ritz Carlton brand and will most definitely look for other hotels to visit around the world.
The staff in Ritz Carlton made an effort to provide me and my wife a personal and unforgettable experience. It all began about two weeks prior to checking in with Susanne, when I coordinated my travel plans with her. I told her about the special occasion I was celebrating and made some personalized request. Upon arrival, Jennifer from the check in desk was well informed, warm and genuine in her assistance. The room was absolutely beautiful and the view was perfect! I would definitely come back and visit again.
I stayed at Central Park Ritz Carlton. I wanted to stay longer but it was too short. The city was locked down for many places but I stayed the hotel and I enjoyed the great service. Just one thing, the Spa was still closed. I want to visit Spa next time. Hopefully they open up soon
This is an exceptional property accessible to everything. The Central Park location and views were spectacular.Perhaps the best part of this property is its employees. We were treated with kindness and respect throughout our stay. The bed is exceptionally comfortable. There is obvious attention to detail in every aspect of this hotels goal to deliver a seamless and comfortable stay. This is one of the finest hotel stays that we have ever had. Bravo to the Ritz Carlton NYC Central Park!
We love The Ritz Central Park but always seem to get the worst room available even when they are not busy. The bar and restaurant are not open so room service is the only option. The little gift shop where I buy the reed diffusers is also not open. It is not worth the price right now.
Spent the weekend to celebrate wife’s birthday. The concierge did a great job preparing the room we got upgraded to a suite due to a probable problem with the AC that was a nice touch. The original room was great but the suite was really nice. Both enjoyed great views of the park, we had club access that is well worth it. The staff in the club provides attentive service and you get the feeling enjoy doing it. Actually the entire staff is just excellent, from the door staff to housekeeping to the front desk couldn’t have asked for better. Thanks I’ll
Cant say enough about this hotel. I usually stay at the Mandarin Oriental or the St. Regis but after this stay, will make this hotel my first choice! The location is perfect and the room gorgeous and very comfortable. Very quiet and restful. I cant say enough about the staff from the moment you walk in the front door! Everyone is attentive, and helpful and very friendly. It made my sister and I feel very welcoming and happy to always return to our room at the end of our sightseeing day! This hotel is now my NYC #1 choice!
We just stayed at the Ritz and were very well taken care of. The location is ideal, right on Central Park. The bar staff, especially Manny was top notch. The hotel combines classic architecture with a modern elegant decorating style. It feels sumptuous, not stuffy. The hotel is a smaller boutique hotel in a city of mega hotels. We loved the intimacy of it! Honestly, next to the concert we attended, the hotel was the best part of our visit!
Overall this hotel was less than what I would expect from a Ritz Carlton. I would say the location is great but overall it is a average hotel. I’m a titanium member with Marriott, and I just didn’t feel anything special with this hotel. I’ve stayed at many other hotels in New York City where I felt more appreciation for my status. Not to mention Ritz Carlton is known to be the best, so the expectation is high. But overall honestly this was an average hotel. It was a clean room and a nice decent stay but nothing special, definitely not worth the money or the points. My flight out of New York was repeatedly delayed, so I actually stayed another night and stayed at the Marriott Marquis in time square and experienced much better customer service and better amenities, like the club lounge, etc.
From the money you valet your car and escorted into the hotel you are greeted in a friendly matter and treated like royalty but it doesn’t stop there. You check in and staff is friendly and full of information making checking in smooth. The room is layout comfortable to enjoy, design is elegant. The door man/ valet employees are delightful and don’t care if you are wearing gym clothes to evening wear they treat you the same. You feel welcomed at the Ritz and Just treated with respect and appreciation you are staying there. I definitely recommend to anyone and can’t wait to go back. Thank you to all the employees from the bar to maintenance. You all do your job wonderfully and make the whole experience what it is all about.
Regular visitor to NYC over the past 4 years and have migrated to the Ritz Carlton where I value the quality of a small hotel with large hotel service. Personal staff attention and beautiful rooms - amazing gym and spa. Long serving staff incredibly loyal to the brand and upholding the brand values. I love love love this hotel. Until I have a bad experience, this is my new home in Manhattan
The ritz is a beautiful place to stay with amazing views of Central Park. However the beds are not comfortable and are definitely dated. You have to pay for WiFi which most hotels offer for free with a stay. We had some bathroom issues as well as cleanliness issues but I would like to say that it seems like that is not the norm for this hotel. I enjoyed my stay but would have liked to have a better place to sleep.
My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Ritz Carlton. It was the first time we stayed away from our home since the start of the pandemic, and we were glad we chose the this hotel, as it is across from Central Park, near restaurants and shops, and in the heart of NYC.
My wife and I stayed in a two room suite, with two children in a separate room. Both rooms had club lounge access. Absolutely perfect place to take in the city. The room and the service was above what I was expecting. I travel frequently, stay at many other brands, and many other Ritz properties. I felt our room, and the room we had for our two teenage children, were among the best rooms I have stayed in. The lounge here is likewise above any other brand, and perhaps better than most Ritz lounges. This was an expensive stay, however, I have paid this much in past situations and had the property not deliver. At least I feel I got the absolute best service here.
The Ritz Carlton central park is a fabulous hotel. Excellent staff, excellent location and excellent accommodations and that’s just the start. The rooms are so comfortable clean and beautifully appointed. Also check out the restaurant in the lobby. Excellent lobster rolls and great vibe. The staff goes above and beyond whether it’s at the front desk the concierge the door or housekeeping.
We celebrated a special family weekend birthday surprise and it went perfectly. The rooms were perfect, both the suite and other family rooms. Guest relations was perfect in helping complete the surprise with champagne and a surprise birthday banner. The lobby staff made us feel special by seeking out and addressing every need. The event was made complete by RC-CP and the staff. Thanks so much, well see you soon again!
We had a lovely stay at the Ritz Carlton in NYC. The location is excellent - just by central park. The staff were very accommodating and had good recommendations. Had breakfast at the hotel. While I understand we were in NYC at the Ritz, the quality and price were not worth it. Would save the money and have breakfast across the street.
We came for a family trip to visit friends. The lobby and common spaces are nice. The elavators are too small for the size of the building and is way tight and freaky even with 4 people. The initial rooms looked over a dark alley and made the rooms super depressing. We moved to an upgraded room with an amazing view of the park. The views were amazing but again the rooms were a bit depressing and rundown especially considering the huge expense. The staff were very nice and helpful. The location is good. The room service was good but super overpriced even by New York standards. Overall not up to the standards of a Ritz and the worst hotel weve stayed at in the chain and we have stayed in a lot.
Beautiful, classic hotel across the street from Central Park and walking distance to fabulous shops and restaurants.Staff is attentive, friendly and personable; the service is impeccable . The lounge is living room comfortable and wonderful for relaxing, light meals, drinks. Rooms are classic, roomy with modern amenities, wonderful beds, baths. The spa is lovely and the services are very good. We appreciate the hotel specials offered many times throughout the year. One of our favorite hotels and our favorite in NYC.
The staff were so engaging and polite, they really did go above and beyond for us. When we arrived we had no cash to tip our driver, so the doorman Al gave us money from his own pocket. Then we requested a telescope for the room for our son, which they hotel couldn’t locate- so the concierge went out of their way to get us a set of binoculars and bird book as a gift. The housekeeping made sure we had everything we needed for our trip home (amidst coronavirus) and provided us with latex gloves. The best customer experience we have had at a hotel. We will be back, thanks so much!
I was traveling for work with my daughter (shes 9). We decided to make it a fun mother/daughter girls trip. We had a hotel set up for the remainder of our stay but arrived one day early so I booked the Ritz. We had a long travel day with delays, and when we arrived the staff upgraded our room to a suite. We ordered room service and the food was delicious (its so hard to find a hotel with really good room service food!) We were sad to leave, and when we got to the other hotel booked/paid through work, we decided we would rather stay at the Ritz even if it was on my own dime. Just knowing we would have a good nights sleep, a comfortable bed and a great staff was enough for me. I travel to NYC often for work and leisure and Ive stayed at many five star hotels, but I feel as though Ive finally found my NYC hotel. I cant imagine staying anywhere else now. It checked all the boxes for us! Cant wait to come back!
Our 12th floor park view room was large, quiet and well-appointed.Orlando at the Front Desk and Victor as host /Bellman are superlative. The restaurant, room service breakfast, Fitness Center, and Business Center are just right. We enjoyed our overnight stay for business and pleasure, with early checkin and late checkout, which helped us enjoy the musical Hamilton.Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The Ritz Carlton has always been my favorite hotel. The staff always come to your table to talk and they are enjoying their jobs! They told us theyve been with the hotel for 13 years or more and they love their employers and wouldnt dream of leaving the hotel. When you hear their enthusiasm, were happy to give more business to this hotel and to Marriott.Weve stayed in Ritz Grand Cayman for ten days during Thanksgiving 2018 and the whole three families truly enjoyed the get together. Also stayed in Ritz, Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi and truly dream of coming back.
We stayed in a suite overlooking the Macys Parade route on Thanksgiving weekend 2018 and couldnt have been happier with the accommodations and staff. The staff was super attentive, room service was pretty good too. Rooms were really quiet and large enough for my family of 4. Our suite looked out over Central Park and the views were absolutely spectacular. Elevators are very well done, if a little smaller than you would expect, but I liked them. The doorman was always ready to help and the concierge staff took care of everything we asked. Thanks for making our bucket list Thanksgiving celebration in NYC a truly great experience.
We had a beautiful suite over looking the parade route for the Thanksgiving holiday. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond every moment to make sure that our stay was truly remarkable. We appreciate everyone that we had encountered at the hotel and we cannot wait to return. I would not hesitate recommending the Ritz Carlton Central Park to a friend.
I surprised my son with a trip to NYC for his 11th bday and we stayed at The Ritz Central Park. We got upgraded to a gorgeous suite right away and when we entered our room they had a huge tray of Macarons, chocolate, cookies, etc with a big white chocolate Happy Birthday plaque - AND the cutest lion stuffed animal. He was SO excited and happy!!!!The Hotel was beautiful and the staff, every single one of them, was super friendly, helpful and professional. The location is fantastic as well! My son and I had such a special stay here. I would highly recommend it to anyone!!!!
Weve been fortunate to have stayed at many luxury hotels in our travels and this was the top: from the gorgeous suite to the exceptional service we received. Every morning we were greeted with smiles and our dog was even greeted by name. We felt at home from the moment we were welcomed out front by the valet until 2 days later when another valet saw us off with some bottled water, waves and a please come back soon. After the service we received, we intend to!
The Club at the Ritz Carlton Central Park is fantastic. They feed you, arrange theater tickets, and get your boarding pass when it is time to leave. They respond to any request with a willing smile and competence. The property is comfortable and clean.Front desk is efficient. The location cannot be beat. Close enough to take a walk in the park after a busy day. This Ritz compares well with others in the chain. Good security. I strongly recommend.
We have enjoyed staying at the Ritz-Carlton properties for the last 6 years mainly on the East Coast from Maryland to Georgia to Flordia and in the Carribean Island and Mexico. The New York Central Park Ritz-Carlton is one of the most alluring properties we have stayed. Words can not capture the view of Central Park and Manhattan from the 22nd-floor windows. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy the nightlife of New York as the majority of activities and shopping is a short walk/bike ride away. The Club Lounge is nowhere near our favorite in size, decor, or food selection, but I assume that most individuals do not eat in the lounge due to the fact that everyone goes out on the town to eat. Overall this a great property and we look forward to our return trip to this property in the near future.
I have not stayed with the Ritz-Carlton brand since they were absorbed by the Marriott chain. Previous visits have been superb but this visit was a nightmare. I booked the club Lounge room thinking we were going to get this VIP service which is promised online but it was anything from the truth. The service in the lounge was horrible. There is only one or two people working there. One gentleman had a 20-hour shift one day. Staff is unwilling or unable to deliver drinks or clean tables off as you are dining. The concierge is almost never at the desk. We were totally ignored during our entire stay. The staff seemed to be doting over one particular couple. They would have 10 or 15 minute private conversations in the middle of the lounge while everyone else needed to be serviced. This couple also was frequently seen going into the kitchen for 5 or 10 minutes at a time. Hotel guests should not have carte blanche to be walking in and out of the kitchen. Very unprofessional! Also shoes & laundry were lost two nights in a row making us late for dinner and theater.I would advise not to use or at least double-check any information provided by the club level concierge. It is often inaccurate. On the other hand the concierge down on the main lobby was much more reliable and provided the type of service you would expect at a 5-star hotel. There were also a multitude of other problems at this hotel which would make this review way too long and probably too boring. I will be addressing these issues with the hotel management shortly. On a positive note the location is nice.
Our room with a view of the Park was incredible! Clean and large by NYC standards. The internet is extremely fast (a problem we typically have with most hotels is slow internet). The staff is very friendly and attentive, always opening doors and providing umbrellas. The Club lounge was perfect for our needs -- nice breakfast and coffee in the morning and snacks and beverages throughout the day.
We stayed in New York to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and the Ritz-Carlton became a large part of our celebration. Our room was a wonderful respite from the busy city, and we adored our view of Central Park. The little details and level of service provided by the entire staff made our stay so special - thoughtful details and unexpected gifts. We were attending Hamilton, and received a lovely keepsake to mark our stay from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel with no hesitation.
This updated Ritz Carlton is a perfect stay for leisure or business. It is warm, friendly, and stylish. Great location for dining as well as shopping. Dont forget to enjoy the beautiful star lounge - just beautiful. Again - this hotel is a gem amid a jungle of properties to select from. A dont miss!
Spent two days in three rooms with family this past week. The property has a great location but our overall experience was poor as a result of being on the 11th floor. There was a stale/mildew smell to the floor and there was a Honeywell fan/purifier running 24x7 apparently working to address to no avail. The smell in rooms 1115 and 1103 (both interior rooms) was bad but 1116 was perfectly fine. Hotel staff was friendly if not nice but the smell issues were not addressed other than some air freshener. There are much better quality properties in the immediate area to consider at this price point. I have not stayed at the St. Regis in a few years but I would encourage people to try that (of focused on Marriott properties) or the Four Seasons on 57th.
Simply the best. The entire experience was better than 5 stars. My wife & I stayed here for 5 nights. Fantastic location, exceptional staff, lovely bar / lounge area, rooms are a dream. The entire experience was better than 5 stars. Every detail of the hotel is thought out, it is perfection. -Neil
We stayed again at the Ritz in early September, 2018. The room was updated and although we really liked the old rooms decor, the new once is clean and modern and very comfortable. The staff, as always, is excellent, and everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. In room dining is pricey but the food is great.
There are a lot of hotels in NYC. Do not stay at this one. They did not honor the early check-in for Elite status, which I understand isnt guaranteed. But the front desk lied about it and said I put the request in for midnight which I showed them on my app it was for 12:45pm. They also did not mention the elite status or any potential upgrades (again, not guaranteed but i saw another guest get an upgrade later when he complained about the same issue, i guess I should have complained). From there, we got to the room and there was a crib (not ordered) and an empty cologne vial on the floor. We assumed they had rushed to make the room ready (though it took two hours) and were willing to deal with it. From there, the bathroom had no shampoo, conditioner or lotion in it. When the bellhop brought up the items, we asked for the room to be cleaned again and the crib to be taken out when we went to dinner. This never happened even though he said it would. Finally, we went to sleep after dinner, woke up the next morning and tried to make a bath. When we started the bath, bubbles immediately appeared in the bathtub signifying it hadnt been cleaned properly. We threw up our hands and watched TV for an hour before checking out early. Do not stay at this hotel. We planned a one night staycation while our kids were with our family and couldnt have picked a worse hotel. How this qualifies as a Ritz is beyond me. Stay anywhere else.
The personal at The Ritz Carlton Central Park were wonderful. No request was denied, the service was excellent, room and bathroom were spotless. The water pressure from the shower would have made Jerry and Kramer ecstatic. Front office isprofessional, prompt and plenty of follow up on reservations, and requests. The view from my room on the 20th floor lookedlike a picture from a Conde Nast magazine.
Ritz Carlton NYC was a wonderful hotel with a great view of Central Park. The staff made very effort to anticipate my every need. The rooms were freshly redecorated, immaculate and more spacious than most NYC hotels. Even the doorman went out of his way for me and offered for me to stay inside out of a cold wind while he waited outside for my driver.
There is nothing redeeming about this property except it’s location. The rooms are absolutely terrible, dark, depressing and the air quality is terrible they are so stuffy. The hotel only has one small bar on the bottom floor, with old tired decor, nothing interesting or remarkable about it. Aside from the gym, which is only standard quality for a 5* hotel, it literally has no amenities/ common area and is absolutely not a destination. So you’re stuck in your nasty room. Will never recommend.
This was our first time to stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Central Park, but we are regular visitors to New York. We thought we would give it a chance and we will now be regular customers! The staff, rooms, location, and spa were excellent! Afternoon tea in the Star Lounge is one of the citys best! The location across from Central Park is just an added bonus. We were truly impressed! We are frequent travelers, and we seek out certain amenities and services to fit our wants and needs and the Ritz met our high standards.
My stay at the Ritz Carlton was very pleasant and all the staff I encountered were extremely kind and accomodating. While I enjoyed my stay, I think this is more of a hotel for couples or a romantic experience. It would be nice if for first time guests a discount was offered off of a meal or service at the hotel.
My wife and I travel quite a bit and always stay at nice hotels. This stay started off no different than many others - check in, go up to find a nice room, etc. But that is where the similarities stopped. The service that all of the employees (associate that showed us to our room, cleaning personnel, room service and bartender) was exceptional. We also had a nice surprise after attending a play, we were greeted in our room with a CD playing in the CD player of the soundtrack from that play (we didnt even remember telling the hotel staff about the play we were going to see and when). This was the icing on the cake and provided for a great and memorable stay. We will always stay at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park when we go back to visit New York.
Everything was great, but it seemed the hotel went the extra mile to gouge you on food and beverage. Insulting and annoying especially since it was very average. The people in every aspect of your stay were excellent and the room was very comfortable and clean. Great location comfortable lounge although closes to early.
I would have to say my visit to the Ritz s disappointing. Granted, I did not stay at the hotel this time, but I have stopped in for a sick many times before. It was not crowded, but it took forever to get a server to pay attention to us. The wine list seemed pretty sparse. I had to hunt down a waiter to get a second glass of wine. The atmosphere is still cozy and I would probably go back, but this visit was certainly a bust.
Long story short ... after hanging out in Times Square and getting back to the room @ 12:30 , I tried to take a bath and the stopper was broke , resulting in my tub not being able to fill up with water. I don’t have a tub at my house only a shower so I was looking forward to taking a bath in the ritz Carlton ... I brought bubbles and epson salt just to find out at 12:30 my tub stopper was broke. So I was forced to take a shower before bed. It was to late in the game to try and switch to another room with a tub that would fill up with water.
My wife and I stayed with our kids and their significant others on our annual Christmas Weekend. We stayed this year at the Ritz for the first time this year. We had a great weekend the hotel and its staff were great. The rooms and the club were great experience. We all had a wonderful time and want to thank the staff of the Ritz for the perfect weekend
Every year we have brunch at the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park for the Thanksgiving Day parade. Unlike previous years, they did not take reservations, but we were assured that outsiders would be allowed on a first-come-first serve basis. We were even given specific subway instructions in order to best get past barricades. We arrived at 6:45 a.m. and were then told by the GM that only hotel guests would be allowed to have brunch. With no remorse or caring, he told us that it didnt matter what we were told (two days before), that we were simply out of luck. There were several other parties who were in the exact same position. As it was too late to find any other location to enjoy the parade, we opted to book one of the last rooms with 100,000 Bonvoy points. We did have an excellent brunch.Upon leaving we saw other guests we saw denied entry there. They stated unequivocally that they had paid the GM several hundred in cash in order to have brunch. We never did stay in the room.We are so very disappointed in the unethical conduct of the GM.
The hotel was nice, the room was clean and spacious for NYC, with a great view of Central Park. We were there for Valentines Day night and wanted to celebrate our engagement there, plus our first date out away from our newborn baby. We loved the room and enjoyed the (way overpriced) drinks at Contour. We were surprised that, for a category 8 with a known name, their in-room dining food was so basic and dull and there were limited options for t.v. (especially no pay per view), so it wasnt very thrilling. But the worst part was our experience with check-out. The night before, I called the front desk for the opportunity for a later check-out and he gave me 2pm and I agreed. So my hubby and I planned our day accordingly to that time to leave. The next morning, I got called twice from the front desk wondering if we were extending our stay, to which I told them about our agreed 2pm check-out. Later, they called me and told me I had to check out in 30min, so we rushed out completely unprepared. If I had known there was no true availability for a later check-out, that wouldve been fine. The short notice that we needed to be out felt like I was another sheep in a herd that needed to shove out.
Very comfortable and staff very welcoming and caring. Very well taken care of and very cozy! But make sure you come prepared knowing that all small things like drinks coffee will cost you a fortune, although on the websites it says it’s complimentary. I would rather buy coffee by Starbucks nearby and bring it up to the room, but over all it was a great night!
I booked the Ritz-Carlton Central Park for my wifes 50th birthday trip. The hotel went above and beyond to make this a special occasion for her. They had a welcome Happy Birthday tray of chocolates upon arrival then a special Happy Birthday sign in the room at turn down service. They even brought her a Birthday tray of macaroons after our spa visit!! They really made her feel special and appreciated. Thank You!
I only stayed one night but I will definitely come back again. The staff are amazing and went above and beyond my expectations. The Doorman was the best I have ever encountered, making sure I had a phone charger (lending me his) and then securing a car take me a short distance to my meeting. This takes the stress out of traveling!
We had a wonderful experience here! My mother hasn’t been to New York since she was a child in the mid sixties! So, this mother’s day trip was very special for her. This was a trip we will cherish for the rest of our lives and The Ritz was a big part of that. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling for business or leisure.
The staff at Ritz-Carlton Central Park is incredible. They always went out of the way to ensure our stay was comfortable. Everyone is very pleasant, attentive, they always focus on providing clients with best experience possible and making the stay very enjoyable. We will come back to this location! Enjoyed every second of our stay.
Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Central Park NYC exceeded every expectation of this 5 star property! The facilities are definitely first class and the staff is so welcoming and professional. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The hotel is very quiet. You wouldn’t know you were in the city. The food and beverage are delicious and beautifully presented. The concierge staff and Andrea in particular went above and beyond. We arrived to our room ready for early check in. The staff made ourselves and our five year old welcome. Our son was taken to select a toy at check in. When escorted to our room and the door opened we became speechless. It was our sons fifth birthday and a glistening silver happy birthday banner hung in view with five red balloons (his favorite color!). We arrived on the Acela because our son is a train fanatic. A large handmade chocolate train with candy filled box cars set against a chocolate cityscape was on the table with a birthday card hand signed by the entire staff. The backside of the tray was overflowing with chocolate candies and cookies. A stuffed lion and Goodnight Central Park book was on the bed. Bath toys spelled out his name in the tub and bath bubbles, rubber duck, robe and slippers awaited in the bathroom. Upon return from The Lion King a card from the staff was delivered hoping he enjoyed the play along with a gift of The Lion King book. There was so much more and I would say as my son now does that this is the best hotel in the world! We can’t imagine one better. Thank you to everyone at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park for making joy filled memories for our family! We can’t wait to return!
Everything was excellent. The only problem I encountered was not being able to check in via the Ritz-Carlton app. The room was very clean, extremely spacious and the bathroom was fabulous with a water closet l, scale, huge showe with lots of hot water. They surprised us with a birthday cake and card soon after our arrival. Definitely not our last stay at the Ritz-Carlton! The well appointed amenities are a plus!
Although the view from a base room is not great, the room itself was quite comfortable and well-appointed, save for a broken hairdryer and non-functioning WiFi. Its spacious and clean, nicely decorated with modern conveniences.Where our stay really stood out, however, was the poor service. We were promised a call when our room was ready. After hearing nothing for the next few hours and inquiring again, another staff member told us that our room was already ready and apologized for not reaching out to us. (We did finally get the call after we got to our room.) And although a broken hairdryer is nobodys fault, it was disappointing that we had to call several times to get a replacement. Staff also had us go downstairs to pick up food rather than allow it to be brought upstairs. All in all, the service is impersonable, uncoordinated, and lacking attention to detail.
We stay at this hotel on a quasi monthly basis. While many Five Star hotels tend to rest on their historical laurels, the Ritz Carlton Central Park continues a long tradition of excellence while amazingly seeming to incrementally improve on each visit. Management and Staff treat us like family and continue to strive to make us feel at home. The recently renovated club is an amazing experience.
I think this particular Ritz Carlton provides really excellent first rate service and the rooms are generally spacious and comfortable. Every one is friendly and accommodating. I think they go above and beyond, and while the St. Regis in NYC is still my favorite of the brand luxury hotels to stay at, the Ritz is always excellent. I will note one trend that has started since Marriott became the dominant force in managing the RC -- the lounge quality is dipping in the food department. The RC Cleveland food was down right awful and the last time I was at this property it was just.... ok. it seems others have noticed as well. Its to justify $150 a night for mid level food and a few perks. While its nice I question whether worth the add on at the moment. Still -- I do love this property and despite that tiny flaw, I find it a first rate hotel.
Beginning with service: Ritz Carlton Central Park staff members are uncommonly professional in demeanor. Their conduct is characterized by dignity; their roles, and selves, being of value—with their guests being of equal value and worthy of respect. Notice the phrase their guests. The most dignified of successful individuals are also the most gracious of hosts. This is the attitude that is demonstrated and greatly appreciated. Also appreciated is the attention that has been paid to creating a cohesive interior wherein the interior architecture marries nicely with the decoration such that, while contemporary in color palette and updated in tone, no discontinuity is present. Rather than trend-seeking—a lower bar in design—the interior has been composed with the intent to be beautiful in a timeless sense by utilizing color, texture, marquetry, etc. I am an architecture professional and can speak to the paucity of such work. It is far easier to jazz up a perceived dated classical architecture by denuding it of details and/or glossing it with glass lamps and geometric prints than it is to compose a refined and cohesive interior environment that, because of that cohesion, is suitable for guests of a wide range in age and personal style. The overall ambiance is one of luxury and beauty. There is but one minor complaint; the lack of press pot, electric kettle, and china cups in the guest room utilized. These items could be in harmony with the ambience while allowing guests to prepare morning coffee or tea before dressing. The absence of these items seemed designed to encourage the use of room service for this minor item. With access to the Club Lounge, I was not inclined to order room service and, therefore, found myself dressing before coffee and immediately consuming breakfast afterward, neither of which is preferred. This issue, however, did not spoil the experience and would not, given Lounge access associated with the specific guest room, be of concern to most.Final note: The Star Lounge afternoon tea is excellent; perhaps the best food items received in any tea, UK or US. For those so inclined, it is recommended highly.
My wife and I got engaged in our room on the 15th floor in November of 2015. We made a promise to ourselves to return every year to celebrate the engagement. This year, we have a new addition to the family, our 10-month old boy, Guy. The trip was fantastic with incredible views of Central Park and the leaves changing. The staff was extremely accommodating to us and our baby. We plan to keep coming back each November. We highly suggest arranging access to the Ritz Carlton Lounge; it is WELL WORTH the extra investment.
Location is great, interior of hotel clean and nice. Exterior windows were so dirty it distorted the view from the room. Received a free upgrade then found out it was to a handicapped room, which was not what my husband and were expecting (no bathtub, closet rods a few feet off the ground-could not hang anything properly). The employees were very professional and friendly.
We celebrated my daughters birthday in NY. The best decision we made was staying at the Ritz. The staff was genuinely friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. They even had a cake and card in the room to our surprise. The hotel is right across the street from Central Park and close to 5th Avenue. This helped greatly since we were visiting the park for the very first time and had shopping to do, of course. Overall, a great time - thank you for making her birthday an unforgettable experience.
We enjoyed a lovely 5 night getaway in Manhattan recently and stayed at the Ritz Carlton Central Park. Great location, caring attentive staff, lovely guest rooms appointed beautifully and with sumptuous linens. Our spacious room overlooked Central Park. The staff made certain our needs were covered. We met friends in New York City and in the evening enjoyed drinks and playing cards in the lobby lounge. Excellent stay!
My review may not sound as positive as some but I have in the past four months stayed at the Ritz Carlton Moscow, Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain, Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee and the Ritz Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara. For a city hotel, the Ritz Carlton Montreal and Ritz Carlton Moscow are much better than the NYC property. Space is tight in New York I know having just stay at The Pierre (great staff) the weekend before and in January staying at the Peninsula New York (not impressed). This is my second time staying at this property. The Ritz Carlton New York has the wonderful service and staff, super clean public space and rooms, and a nice gym but we felt a little cramped. I was not impressed with the bar, but the service was again excellent. Bottom line for me is if they offer a special rate, I would stay there again but then again NYC doesnt have city hotels that match cities like Paris, London or even cities in China.
I stay at the Central Park Ritz with 5 of my girl friends for a fun girls weekend. The staff was amazing, the location is perfect and the hotel is beautiful. I have stayed several boutique hotels in New York in the past and the one thing I was pleasantly surprised by at the Ritz was the size of the rooms. For Manhattan they are massive. The hotel was truly everything we expected and more.
Ritz-Carlton once again gave us impeccable service. Hotel itself was a little bit old, which I think is due to the history of the building itself. But it was elegant, upscale with a warm, comfortable scent every time when I stepped back from the outside. The location is convenient and connects visitors to subway in a breeze. We were celebrating our Wifes birthday and was very happy with our decision to stay in your property.
Cassidy contacted us before our visit and made sure to make our stay extremely personal from a welcome card and chocolates at check in to a nice departing gift when we checked out. We were celebrating my fiance’s graduation from the police academy and she made sure to acknowledge the celebration during our stay perfectly. It was completely unexpected and really made our trip memorable. We can not recommend The Ritz enough to our friends and family after the wonderful experience we just had with you. Thank you!
We came into the hotel with high expectations. Unrealistically high actually. Somehow the hotel exceeded them. From the time we arrived we felt that each staff member we encountered truly cared about our visit and wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The room was very nice, but it was really the staff that set the hotel apart.
This hotel did not feel like a Ritz-Carlton. The interior of the lobby and lounges and rooms were of the high standard you would expect but thats where it stopped. Zero recognition for Marriott Platinum. Staff was robotic. Service in the Star Lounge was really bad not to mention overpriced soft drinks. Pretty bad when you have to waive down staff for assistance. There was a cart full of paint cans in my hallway around my room most of the day not something you would expect a Ritz-Carlton. Turndown service pounded on the door at 9: 15 at night. A little late if you ask me. Out of all my Ritz-Carlton experiences this one boggles my mind. No attention to details no going above and beyond by the staff. Family member staying at the JW Marriott up the street and had a much more luxurious experience.
This Ritz property is one of the best Ritz hotels that I have stayed at. Everyone that works there from housekeeping to concierge is welcoming and accommodating. Not only did the hotel have a wonderful signature scent, but the whole experience from the room, staff, location, and view is fabulous!
Upon arrival we were greeted with bottles of water. I shared that we were celebrating my wifes birthday and also seeing Springsteen on Broadway. Throughout our stay, we were always acknowledged by staff and greeted warmly. Our room was a retreat from the city. Allowing us to re-energize and get the most out of our stay. The staff delivered a Birthday Cake and gift for my wife which made the experience even better. It must be said that the property is elegant, warm, and luxurious. Get ready for a spectacular experience when you visit the Ritz at Central Park!
Room worked great For The kids with additional rollaway bed. The rooms were kept totally clean. Great hotel with great service from the greeting to to the last come again and have a safe flight. Across the road from the hotel there is an amazing fish restaurant highly recommended. Location was perfect.
The location is outstanding but do not expect much from your loyalty membership benefits, even if you are for a special occasion. Room is nice and clean, but somehow the TV features are slow and stop working occasionally. Real strange that a newly renovated property has so sub-par TV service (I mean the Internet TVs such as YouTube and Chromecast). However, this hotel is in the center of New York City and you should not spend much time in-room watching TV, so it is not too bad.
I stay at all the major luxury hotels in NYC. First time at the Ritz. Best views of the park. The only room to get is the park view. It’s stunning. Comes with a telescope as well! Bed & linens are Ritz. Very comfortable and soft! Not having 2 sinks is always a bugaboo with me. But overall the room was great! Lots of storage space for your things. Separate coat closet. It’s huge! Great small sofa and decor.
We enjoyed the Picnic in the Park package at The Ritz and it was beyond perfection. The selections were delicious and the cheesecake was the perfect punctuation to a wonderful stay. The suite had classic decor with black and white fashion photography adorning the walls - very classic Audrey Hepburn 1960’s New York era. Absolutely loved the stay and will return!
We came to stay at this hotel to celebrate our 20th anniversary which was recognized and appreciated with a nice welcome but unfortunately my feeling is because I paid with points my request was not fulfilled which is sad as I am a SPG & Marriott gold status and in the past when we stayed in other higher and the hotels such as the st. Regis they treat you just like you paid for your reservation with money .....and respected very much my gold status which I didnt find it to be the situation when I stayed at this hotel.the room I got was nice however very noisy as it was right next to the house keeping room where they kept on opening and slamming the door throughout the whole day which made it very uncomfortablewhen i asked to switch rooms i was told Sorry no other rooms are available
Ive stayed at this hotel many times and have enjoyed great experiences. But this time ... everything was wrong with the room! A blind was missing from the window, the mattress was old and uncomfortable, the TV didnt work, no room sign to indicate room number outside the room, missing trash can in bathroom, and required to call several times requesting Lobby Managers attention and response. The aggravation of an unprepared room upon arrive in the evening when I needed to be rested before a very important business meeting early the next morning was unprofessional, unnecessary and too costly for what I received. Very disappointing!
Having stayed at many five-star hotels throughout the world, and many Ritz-Carlton properties, I can say that the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park is one of the very best hotels I have stayed in. The design, amenities, and service were superb. Afternoon tea in the Starlight lounge was a special treat, and the house car that was available in the afternoon and evening was a true convenience. This will always be my hotel of choice when I stay in Manhattan. Thank you to all of the staff who made my stay so memorable.
This hotel seems challenged to distinguish itself among Ritz properties. Despite the managers prior indication after an earlier problematic experience, apparently nothing was noted, and therefore nothing occurred. Status meant little. No status offering occurred though the reservation indicated a welcome gift. The gift is not whats important--the fact it was not paid attention to is. Room preference was completely ignored. The room was nice, clean and well appointed, which leads to the conclusion that for a brief business stay it can work, but if service is needed, expectations should be limited. Even on arrival, the doorman/bellman did nothing. No offer of assistance, no opening the door or even offering. He was apparently more engaged watching the street traffic.
Beautiful hotel, excellent service, luxurious bedding, modern amenities with an elegant lobby in an ideal location. This property is one of my favorites! Add to that theyve upgraded the rooms to include USB chargers and great bedside lighting and large screen TV! All on Central Park and a few steps to Columbus Circle
The Ritz Carlton New York, Central Park is a beautiful and incredibly well maintained property in a great location. Right across the street from Central Park and walking distance to Midtown, Times Square and the Theater District. The staff was exceptional during our stay, the room was larger than I expected and updated. The elevators and common areas were wood paneled, rich and luxurious. A truly wonderful place to stay in the city.
It is wonderful to see the culture the Ritz-Carlton embodies in full effect at Central Park, Ladies, and Gentlemen, serving Ladies, and Gentlemen. Thank you to the entire staff for the contributions made everyday of our stay. It was an awesome experience, we could never imagine staying anywhere else.Cassidy, in guest services, thank you for going above and beyond to make sure our 6 month old baby was comfortable.Felix, Charles, Lazar, Pablo, and the rest of the Gentlemen in Club Lounge that made our family, feel like family. We appreciate your hospitality, thank you.Andreia, Lisa, Jimmy in the Spa, thank you for adding to our amazing experience, best massage, and facial ever.Orlando, and the Front Desk, thank you helping us check in quickly when we needed to get the little one into the room. Thank you for the generosity as our flight was delayed twice due to weather. Keeping the family with you, and soaking in every last moment hit the spot.Housekeeping, thank you for making sure we had everything we needed, and the extra care you extended our family.Doormen, thank you for being so attentive, providing umbrellas on rainy days, opening car doors, and helping with luggage. We look forward to our next NYC trip, and creating more memories with you, thank you!!
In NYC, there is no better place to stay than the Ritz Carlton Central Park South. The Park is directly across the street, Broadway shows are less than 10 blocks south, and Columbus Circle and Museums are a stones throw away. Staff go far out of their way to ensure that you have everything that you need, and my 2 young children took full advantage of this (10 and 13). They offered them refreshment, answered their MANY questions, and went far out of their way to make sure that they were going to enjoy their stay.
From arrival they upgraded us to a partial park view, which was very nice. I had emailed the hotel prior to arrival to let them know it was my daughters 15th birthday. Cassidy responded asking us our itinerary. I told her we would be seeing Wicked the first night and Mean Girls the second night. When we got back from the shows there were cards handwritten from Cassidy along with a journal from the shows wed seen. She had also left apple cider and a cake. It was so thoughtful and very much appreciated!Overall we had an enjoyable stay at The Ritz Central Park, thank you!
The Hotel has a great view of Central Park, so long as your floor is on 10 or above. The F&B department was okay, not really Great food or service. The Bellman were sometimes not present at the door, when the frigid wind blows the last place you want to be is Outside. The front desk and concierge staff greeted you upon arrival but not sure about the their intent to actually help. The Staff just does not have the training for a property as great as this, no charm or character. They should get training at The Savoy in London.
The facility is beautiful. Great location. The facilities do not justify the price. The employees did not appear to know about the temporary breakfast arrangements. Otherwise all employees were friendly. I received conflicting answers to my questions. There was a nasty perfume smell in my room that caused me to go through a box of Kleenex in 48 hours.
Thank you so much to everyone who made my family’s stay memorable in the best way possible. The room was clean and well put together. Only in NYC The room was super quiet. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. The ritz always does a super job for our family but these guys really have their act together.
We left another luxury Marriott property due to numerous issues and walked straight to the Ritz Carlton CP. Thomas at the Front Desk confirmed our room type after receiving a frantic call attempting to make a reservation online. When we arrived Alexander also at the Front Desk made us feel welcome. He assured us our weekend would be saved. He put us in a large double room with lots of window that fit our family, sent us to dinner in the nice restaurant (on the house) and even gave my husband a Fathers Day gift. The staff though out the hotel is there to please the guest. We felt special all weekend long.
This was our first day at the Ritz on Central Park and we could not have been happier. Previously we had stayed at a nearby luxury property in the city when visiting New York. We will definitely select the Ritz on our next trip. Such a beautiful, classic property with lovely amenities and style.
The service was excellent we requested so ***y little things and each request was met with a smile. The hotel is in an excellent spot. The view of Central Park from our room made this country boy feel at ease with the fast pace of the city. Would highly recommend for the business traveler or leisure.
Hotel is pleasant. Club lounge food is mediocre. Club lounge has plenty of staff but not organized. Salt and pepper shaker hard to find. Spoons impossible to find. No ladle for the soup. Food placed out without serving utensils. The lounge furniture is totally uncomfortable. I had to sit at the edge of the sofa in order to eat properly. I left the lounge with neck and back pain.I was not impressed.
Outstanding visit to NYC’s best hotel. Location, staff, amenties, comfort, safety, food, and value all combined in one. Our six night stay was the best in every way. Pick a lounge room, stay on an upper floor facing Central Park and prepare to be amazed and pampered.
Lovely high-end Hotel located in the Southern and Central Park on Central Park South it is in a great location but extraordinarily expensive. Really should be reserved for exceptional occasions. The restaurants in here are exceedingly expensive. Not the type of hotel price they charge. But for special experience if you can afford it and is a nice hotel.
The club renovation at the Central Park Ritz Carlton took away all the timeless charm that once made this hotel a top worldwide property. It’s modern basic new cookie cutter look is sad & extremely disappointing. The chairs are low & restrict the beautiful view of Central Park. The food also isn’t at the high standards it was in the past. I no longer recommend this property. Sad.
We asked for a parade route view. We called to confirm this. We were never told this was not possible or there was another protocol for this. We did not have the view we planned the whole trip fr. Management could do nothing, the Loyalty program simply expressed no concern and the Elite service took 30 min on hold twice to get to someone who offered zero options and in the end was quite rude. I would cut up the card if it were not metal and will NEVER be staying at a Marriott property again. I donot recall this level of indifference when The Ritz was not owned by Marriott.
The rooms at the Ritz are boring. It looks like motel 6. No style at all. Sometimes comtempory does not work and here it adds no elegance. The bellman joked about getting our luggage so we just carried it ourselves because we needed to get out of traffic! The club level waiter visited (talking loud about personal information) to one table ignoring ( and annoying) all the other guests. We have stayed at many Ritz Carlton’s where we have been completely satisfied. One really expects a good experience in New York but not here.
I just checked in to the Ritz Carlton Central Park location and the service is incredible. Its my daughters birthday and they decorated the room with balloons and a streamer, had a beautiful cake and cards for her AND had a DVD of Drake (who cancelled his concert this weekend - which is the reason we came to NYC this weekend). From the moment we walked in, everyone was amazing, accommodating, and delivered exceptional service. Ritz Carlton, you are our hotel of choice from here on (and we have stayed at every top hotel in NY). Thanks, Agatha Bis
The service was unbelievably good. If I called for room cleaning or anything, they were there in a few minutes. The location is fabulous. Central Park is across the street. We walked in the park 3 times instead of working out in the health club. The subway is one block down and it will take you all the way to Battery Park or the 9/11 Memorial. We also took the subway to Times Square. The breakfasts in the hotel were very good. We also ate next door at Bobby Vans restaurant. The Lobster salad was great.
A classic old world hotel in nyc. I booked here bc if it’s proximity to Central Park for morning runs and it did not disappoint. The service was on point, rooms and other facilities so clean, and the food on the premises was tasty. The bathrooms have a great deep tub for a relaxing soak which is a rare treat in nyc hotels. Loved it and will be back.
While visiting NY, you cant ask for any better hotel. The location, property and staff are Incredible. Our stay was so wonderful, we would recommend this property with highest praise, as well as knowing this will be our ONLY property consideration for future visits. We cant say enough about the incredible property
A posh hotel, a prime location, ease of access to all good things NYC and genuinely affable staff who helped us.Coming from New England to NYC is stressful, and yet this hotel was a notch above my experience at the Plaza and Pierre in the last 2 years.Dining was a pleasant surprise at Contour. Perfect.
Over and above, the Ritz Carlton Central Park New York is the ultimate stay in first class. The staff is so professional and friendly, the accommodations are comfortable, and the location is stunning. My stay at the Ritz was what I expected and so much more. Thank you to all who made my stay so memorable. It is something I will never forget.
If this is your thing and you can afford it this is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. I gave it 5 stars, some might consider it 4. I have been here quite often, and the staff is obsequious without being overbearing. The rooms and the decor are nice, but places like this are really all about service.
Incredibly disappointing experience, especially considering the exhorbitant room rates at this RC. As a multi-year Platinum member celebrating a wedding anniversary, all I asked for was a room in a higher floor because we are light sleepers and didn’t want the street noise to keep us up; we got stuck in a 5th floor ADA room, and barely slept. We also got locked out of the room because of a defective indoor latch that managed to close itself after we left the room. Housekeeping never came to our room, I had to call and ask for service as we left for dinner at 5pm. Definitely not the kind of experience you expect from a RC.
The location is probably the best thing about the hotel. The food and drink selections were varied and fresh and enjoyed by all in our party. The hotel remembered our annual trek and greeted us with complimentary chocolate strawberries in our room. Thank you Ritz staff for making it special.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. My husband and I are in New York for work and we are very happy. The staff is too incredible and helpful with what to do. I will stay again. Unfortunately we have a reservation somewhere else but I had to share. Thank you for a splendid time. The walls are a little thin but I dont want to complain. It was not anything we could not handle.
The Ritz Carlton Central Park continues to improve and amaze providing a true luxury five star experience. While the single best asset of this property is its Ladies and Gentleman, the Ritz Carlton Club truly separates this hotel from its peers. Management at this property is not only excellent, but in addition to doing a fine job running operations, the General Manager, Hotel Manager, Rooms Executive and Club Manager are omnipresent interacting with guests and attending to every detail to insure a true luxury experience.
Great expectations met with a great experience.Im not a regular guest at this property, but I felt very welcomed here. Id previously visited the Battery Park property a few months ago for my birthday, and I thought they were impressive, but about the Central Park location, Wow, is an understatement.I reserved a stay on short-notice to visit the city to celebrate a friends birthday. I chose this hotel as much for its reputation as its location. As Im also celebrating my retirement from 20+ years of service in the U.S. Army, I splurged a little to treat myself. Im also a great fan of old world style and symbols of luxury, so my expectations were rather high.As I always do, I considered the reviews from other guests prior to making my reservation, disregarding the overly harsh ones as from those whose poor experiences were either not typical or possibly exaggerated. Im glad that I decided to seize the opportunity to experience this hotel for myself and form my own opinion. From the first moments experience during the reservation, to my final experience with the door man to hailed my taxi, I was treated very well. I feel like everyone did a splendid job taking care of me. The representative who took my reservation over the phone, Natalie, made notes of the reason for my visit, a typical formality, which I expect is mostly for making conversation during the booking.Upon my arrival, the reception staff, including a young man named Robinson, greeted me promptly and with a smile and polite conversation. They offered me immediate congratulations on my retirement, and allowed me complimentary access to the spa. Upon check-in, I was attended by another staff member, Ronald, who offered me a variety of cold beverages prior to accompanying me to my room. He put my luggage away and introduced me to the amenities of the room. The room was clean and beautifully appointed. The bed was soft, the pillows and coverings fluffy, and the water pressure in the sink and shower were excellent. The hostess and servers in the restaurant were super attentive. Our meals were very good, as were the freshly made hot and buttered dinner rolls that preceded our meals.Upon returning to my room that evening, I found that the guest services manager, Cassidy, had made a very kind congratulatory gesture leaving a card and bowl of chocolate-covered strawberries in my room. Yummy! When I checked out, Jorge took care to make sure my bill was correct, and offered me a bag for my extra belongings. The experience could not have been better if Id scripted it. I could easily write several pages, naming several more names, in order to do the experience justice, but Ill leave it here, and commend the team for making such a memorable impression on me for my first stay.I believe that the assets that the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park calls its staff deserve to be acknowledged for their contributions to upholding the standards that people likely expect from this brand. Im sorry that I cannot remember more of the names, but Ill remember the way they made me feel. It was awesome. It felt like...I was someone who had been away for a while and who had been missed dearly. All things considered, Im sure its just a testament to job training and quality customer service, but its nice to feel appreciated, even if by people who dont know you.I hope the rest of the guests have similar experiences to mine, and that my future experiences will also be like my most recent one.
My wifes 60th birthday new years was a disaster from her getting ill and us getting hosed by concierge doctor for $900.00 for coming to room for 10 minutes to not being upgraded to suite by booking with Platinum American Express yes it was Holiday but I booked this well inadvance and should have been told even with Ritz Rewards no great deal. Would not recommend this Ritz to anyone regular room very expensive and very small but had suite if we wanted to pay and extra $1500-5000 per night absurd
A Ritz-Carlton experience that is not ...An ok experience at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, which for a Ritz-Carlton is not acceptable.Check-in service was unfriendly and impersonal which was a surprise when you consider that Im a Platinum Premier member with Ambassador Service, and that is meant to be the Ritz-Carlton. Apparently, spending 125 nights a year in Marriott products doesnt mean much to them. No upgraded room available albeit the hotel was mostly empty. I was given a room with a view to other rooms ...The room was mostly ok except that getting the WiFi to work required a phone call and one of the black-out curtains didnt work at all. About the curtain, we only found out at 1 am when we tried to close it ...Cleaning carts were parked overnight in front of my room door, which made me feel I was stored away in the broom closet (see pictures). At check-out, I requested the folio to be emailed to me, which they never did.I wont be back. I dont have a problem paying for something nice when I want it. It is inexcusable to pay for Ritz-Carlton to get service I could have gotten from the Sheraton.
The Ritz Central Park was a first class experience for my recent trip. No detail was left untouched, the staff, the property, the ameminites, and the personalization of each staff member genuinely caring to ensure my stay was perfect! I will not stay anywhere else when I’m in NYC! Unforgettable!!
I’d give a zero star rating if I could.Soo disappointing! Dirty, greasy headboard. Dead flowering plants. I asked for extra blankets that didn’t come the first night when asked.I asked for a tea pot in the room and it a coffee maker with paper cups, and k cup for tea, which doesn’t allow the tea to steep.Hostess didn’t tend to their station and kept guests waiting needlessly.Great view of the Statue of Liberty with very dirty windows.Woken up after 9:00pm to ask if I’d received my tea pot. The one I was provided was a coffee pot at 3:00pm. Not sure why they waited six hours to ask. I said I was fine and sleeping. A half hour later, I was woken up again. After that, I was unable to go back to sleep until after midnight.Offered a credit that didn’t materialize. It’s understandable that it takes a while to get the car. However, it was very cold and the outside door was left open. This is a horrible waste of energy and very unpleasant for the guests.I don’t blame the staff. They were all very kind and trying hard. It was terrible Management. Zero attention to detail. I’ve had a much better experience at inexpensive hotels. There is no point in spending your money to stay here until they get new management and train their staff.
Excellent in every way. Hotel is an enclave against the often frenetic NYC experience. First class and supremely located, with staff that go beyond to please. Chose to spend my wifes birthday and our anniversary here for third straight year. Will be back next year for seven more nights.
Wonderful stay at the Ritz. You cannot beat this location. Acorss the street from Central Park and walking distance to all the wonderful neighborhoods in the city. Bellman are so welcoming each day. The lobby smells wonderful upon every arrival and its so relaxing to unwind from the day in their lounge with the snacks and a glass of red wine!
This is by far the best Ritz Carlton Ive been to. The service is phenomenal including the doormen, front desk, housekeepers, and especially Charles and Aziz in the club lounge. The food in the club lounge is outstanding. My daughter loved feeding the horses every day at noon, and the staff always made her feel special.
Front desk is very friendly and helpful, as with the lounge attendant. Lounge attendant noticed we were looking for someone and immediately (while on a phone call) called us over to let us know about our travel partners locations. Areas were spotless and perfect service!
The Ritz Carlton is the bees knees of hotels. The staff is courteous and helpful, the rooms are gorgeous, it’s in a great area for shopping, dining and a jog ( or marathon) in the park. In my opinion everyone should treat themselves to a stay at the Ritz. Worth every penny!
When I was at this 5star wonderful Hotel in the amazing Central Park I enjoyed everything about the hotel. The master bedrooms were so cozy. And at the bottom of my ❤ I know that everyone will like all the amazing people I would not go to the Ritz without these people working so hard. Thanks Ritz!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely perfect.... from Check in to Check our we were greeted with sincerely pleasant and helpful employees.... 5 star service by everyone we encountered... the Club Level was one of the Best that we have experienced at any Ritz, thank you Charles... over looking the Park is Divine and location is perfect....
We had a wonderful time staying here. From the time we arrived to the time we left everyone was amazing!!! Our only negative was the restaurant. Not sure if it was the timing(it was lunch time) but the service wasn’t up to the rest of the hotel staff. If it wasn’t for the restaurant we would give an excellent rating.
My family and I had another amazing experience at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park. The staff was very friendly and helpful, as usual, and our room and the common areas were top notch - as you would expect at a Ritz-Carlton. This was our 2nd trip to this exceptional property and we are already looking forward to our 3rd visit!
Theres no doubt that the Ritz is one of my favorite hotel chains. However the Central Park New York Ritz Carlton is unbelievably gorgeous. The staff is extremely friendly the rooms are magnificent and you cannot beat the location. I highly, highly recommend this hotel.
For location and quality of service this Hotel cannot be beat when staying in New York City. In fact, the Ritz Carlton - Central Park is one of the finest city hotels in the United States. Unparalleled attention to detail and excellence in leadership and service, set this property apart from other options. Stay, Extend and Return !
The staff at the Ritz Central Park is phenomenal from the door to the room to the club, they are friendly, super helpful and always ready to get the job done. The location is spectacular and the views amazing. Say hi to the Peking Duck in Central Oark. I cannot wait to visit again.
This is a place where everything is expected to be perfect. It is tough to review a place like the Ritz because at these room rates you hold them to a totally different standard. If you are looking for a perfect stay, with a perfect room and perfect service this is the place for you, but if you are looking to be blown away by excessive amounts of luxury this isnt it.
Ritz-Carlton is the best. Went for high tea to celebrate my birthday. The staff was so polite and accommodating. The Ritz-Carlton NYC is known for their scones. So good. I loved the tea sandwiches too. Wished I could stay longer to have a drink in bar. Next trip for sure!! Oh the concierge helped with directions and gave me sightseeing ideas.
As with all of my stays to date, the Ritz at Central Park is like a warm blanket awaiting me after a day out in the cold reality of NYC. It is always nice to have a quiet, caring place to help one to relax after being out and about all day. I love NYC, in part because I can escape it at the Ritz and enjoy a cocktail and a bite before dinner, as well as after dinner. Always a wonderful stay.

2022-02-26Walked in one early morning and did a walk though of the pubic spaces and lobby. Giselle the night auditor at the front desk was very warm. The front desk representative smiled and offered hotel information. The door and bell staff were also very nice.

2022-03-09EXCEPTIONAL! The team at the ritz central park gives a level of service and positive attitude that leaves you in shock. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our four year anniversary, and we made a note that we were both vegan. The General Manager Douglas, the chef Andrew and the pastry chef Anthony went out of their way to make things special. The actually went out special to find tofu and vegan meats to make us a hot tofu scramble and delicious vegan bacon and sausage. Andrew’s preparation and presentation was impeccable. And, this morning, the pastry chef Anthony brought us our homemade vegan biscotti, along with extra for our flight home. Amazing! Besides the food, it was just the “over the top” service. For example, I asked Daniel the concierge if they had an “Edge” shaving gel, because I forgot mine, most hotel shaving creams cut my face. He said he would take care of it. To my complete surprise, I went outside to enjoy the the sunshine, and saw Daniel hustling up 6th ave with my gel. Amazing, unprecedented service. The front desk staff, the restaurant managers, and all of the concierges were amazing. We will absolutely stay there again, and highly recommend it to all!

2021-08-03My girlfriend and I visited New York City for our 3 year anniversary. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Central Park. The stay was amazing. The check in process was smooth. We arrived early for check-in and Victor, the bellman, was kind enough to store our bags until our room was ready. He was extremely kind and provided excellent service to us throughout our entire stay. Jenny at the front desk was also excellent. She provided surprise gift amenities of chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of brut, and a written card congratulating my girlfriend and I for our anniversary. We were beyond surprised and happy with her kind service. The Ritz Carlton Central Park is lucky to have Victor and Jenny. Lastly, housekeeping was phenomenal. They serviced our room daily and nightly. We were very happy with the service! Thank you so much, Ritz Carlton Central Park, for the memorable stay and experience.

2021-08-15We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is clean, nicely appointed and the staff members are fantastic. The hotel is located in fairly quiet, safe area of the city on the edge of Central Park. There are plenty of dining options in the immediate area, lots of shopping one block away, a subway stop just a couple of blocks away and we never seemed to exceed $30 for a cab ride to anywhere we wanted to go in the city. We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again.

2021-10-20Location is hard to beat. Lovely walking through Central Park as we traveled as a family to the Guggenheim or any number of spots up town. Lincoln Center train is a quick walk. Broadway if your walking is 20 minutes away. The rooms are cozy with comfortable beds, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

2021-08-23Hands down. Staff was the best thing about the hotel. They were terrific. However, extremely overpriced for what you receive. Rooms are mediocre and dated. Service carts left in Hallway. Not all staff wore masks. No in room coffee. Extremely Limited amenities due to covid. Interesting as other hotels arent as restricted w their F&B offerings. I would not spend the money on this property or return anytime soon considering other stellar options in NYC.
