The Shade store is so nice and everything about the experience was top notch. Lisa Cook was so patient and I felt really comfortable, never pressured, with my making a purchase. More important, she was professional, knowledgeable, and I trusted her to pick out something nice since I was indecisive. The store has a great selection and different price points to suit everyone. I’m so glad I decided to visit this store as a first time buyer for window treatments!
Blythe was a dream to work with. Her knowledge of lighting and design are second to none. I wanted to keep things simple and she didnt let me down! I didnt feel a single ounce of pressure when it came to ordering and she even encouraged me to take some time and think about my options. Our entire upstairs is completely transformed. The cellular shades look fantastic and are exactly what we wanted. Even before the installer walked out of the door, I knew I would be contacting Blythe immediately to get our living room and dining room all set as well. Thank you!
From the moment we walked in the showroom, from our first interaction with Blythe, we had no doubt that this is where we were buying our shades for our newly remodeled home. Everything was perfect all along the way up to and including the follow-up post installation. What was shocking to me was that there was a really minor measurement issue in a bathroom shade that I actually told Blythe that we could live with it. This is where it gets good. She already knew about the issue and had already ordered a replacement! Her exact words were We want everything to be perfect. I wanted to reply Everything is perfect Blythe and we thank you very much! How many times a day do we wish for this kind of care and follow up in any store we walk into? This is a class act!
I had an amazing Experience dealing with Lisa Cook from the Shade Store. Everything from prompt responses to questions by phone call or email, sending out of swatches until finally placing the order. The blinds were installed by the Shade store expertly and they are beautiful. I would definitely recommend.
I just finished a new office build out for my company in Garden City Park. The last Item I needed was solar powered shades for an over-sized window that had been installed. I went to The Shade Store in Garden City where I met Blythe Tract. I cannot tell you how smoothly the process went from the sale, to their field measurement and then the installation. The product is unbelievable! smooth, quite operation and the solar pack only needs to be recharged once every year. I am a very satisfied customer and would definitely recommend the product and the staff.
I recently had a large window project done to my home. I was anticipating an overwhelming experience with over 40 windows that needed shades but working with Blythe Tract at the Garden City location was effortless from beginning to end. Blythe Tract, an amazing sales associate walked us through lots of different options and followed up quickly to any questions we had. Im a retired Sales Person/ Sales Manager so my expectations are high. She meet & then exceeded all. A fun, friendly, energetic personality and great taste level complimented her extensive knowledge. I had a great experience working with Rachel. I went there with a specific idea in mind and then while speaking with Rachel she showed me what I wanted and showed me other options. I took home some samples had the windows measured and ended up going with an alternative she had showed me. She sent me mock-ups of what it would look like and I placed my order. Michael came and installed my shades and I am beyond happy with how everything turned out!

We ordered some window blinds for our bay window from Lisa at The Shade Store and we were very happy with the product. One of the first shades that were made was a little narrow But Lisa had that one remade and it came out great.

I wish I could give 10 stars! Blythe helped me select the perfect shades for my new home! Making an appointment was super easy with the store and I was impressed by how the store is handling social distancing during Covid. When I was there, there was another customer being helped by another associate, so a total of 4 of us in the spacious showroom. People from outside knocked on the door and wanted to walk in and take a look during my appointment window but I am glad that they were turned away and told to make an appointment first. I noted surfaces being disinfected continuously as well so I felt very comfortable visiting the showroom in person. Blythe was incredibly helpful in giving me ideas and suggestions for each window shade, and sharing photos with me of actual installations in the same style I was looking going for. I made the measurement appointment with no hesitation. I also had the measurement and installation done by Winston who is amazing! I was able to take advantage of the annual Shade Store sale and Blythe helped expedite my order so I could get the discount before the deal expired. Of course I was thrilled!! There was a delay from the workroom where I had received two shades the rest were not yet shipped out, but Blythe literally saved the day. She was on top of things and made sure everything would arrive at my home in time for the installation appointment. A big thank you to Blythe! I ordered 3 sets of shade from the Shade Store. My sales person Blythe Tract was amazing. She was super helpful in helping me select the proper blinds for each room. It can be overwhelming with all the choices and she pared it down and explained each product I was considering in a very comprehensive way. Making the install appt was easy and the installer came on time and worked fast and looked fantastic.

I visited the Shade Store in Garden City, and met with Liz Irwin to help me select shades for my kitchen, living room and bedroom. They have quite an extensive selection of shades in different materials and colors. Liz Irwin was very good at helping me coordinate different materials and textures for my windows. She also helped explain to me how solar shades function and helped me choose the right color and percentage for what I was looking for. The company is very good at sending follow up emails to alert the customer as to when your shades have been shipped and should arrive. The crew that arrived to install the shades did a top notch job. They were very polite, courteous and careful not to damage my home. Once hung up, the shades turned out to be more magnificent than I imagined. Sure, the Shade Store is pricey but they offer much higher quality than most other shading companies including Hunter Douglas. I tried HD but was not impressed with their hardware and did not want their initials to be so prominently visible on my shades. The Shade Store offers a larger selection of hardware and finishes than its competitors. I have received many compliments on my shades. In fact, it is one of the first things people notice when they walk in. Liz helped me select shades that complemented each other and helped add to the visual appeal of my open floor plan. If you cant afford to use them in every room in your home, do what I did. Just use them in areas where they standout and add a touch of elegance for your guests to enjoy. I give the company five stars for their service and the quality of their materials. I appreciate Liz giving me a follow up call to find out if I was satisfied with the installation of the shades. Liz provides outstanding customer service. You cant go wrong with the Shade Store. They will add a touch of elegance and class to your home.

Sent me multiple mock up pictures of how the shades would look in my room. They sent someone to my house to measure for free, he was so friendly and had helpful advice as well. Nothing but wonderful things to say about Blythe! From our first interaction, she was warm, trustworthy and productive…all during a global pandemic! I still can’t get over how someone can help design a room without stepping foot in it. It’s was as if Blythe was there within each room with us.I worked with Blythe closely as my parents moved out of my childhood home into a brand new build in an over 55 retirement community out in Suffolk.The entire house was a blank slate, open floor plan with lots of windows. Great experience with Blythe at the Shade Store. I wanted a new shade to match a shade I had made a couple of years ago, but the material was discontinued. Blythe was able to track down discontinued material and I was able to get the new shade. It is perfect. Also ordered a new shade for my bathroom which also came out great. So I was looking for a place to have window treatments done for my home. I searched the web and came across the shade store. I browsed their website and was pleased with all of their options. I quickly ordered a few samples. The samples came in pretty quick, I chose a fabric I was very into for my drapery. I called to see what shade store would carry a bigger sample and was told that the westbury showroom carried it. I made an appointment and met with designer Sandra Harding. My husband and I met with Sandra. She really took the time to understand my style and helped me with all my selections without being too pushy which I loved. From the very beginning till the end of the process Sandra made it quick and easy. Sandra made it a point to follow up to check in. Her customer service was exceptional. We also had an installer Arthur whom was very kind and installed all the products efficiently and neat. I would definitely recommend the Shade Store!

I worked with Lisa from the Garden City, New York store. From start to finish she was great to work with. It is nice to work with a sales person who doesn’t push the most expensive materials or try to push you to do more then you want, which makes me want to work with her again in the future. We picked out fabrics and hardware colors and she guided me towards which fabrics would work with what I wanted. I got the roller shades for my living room and lower level den. The material of the fabric is amazing and strong. I also had Winston come to measure and install the shades with an assistant. He was so nice and knowledgeable and answered any questions that I had.

Im very impressed with the quality of the shade store window treatments and have incorporated many of the options in both homes. The fabrics are consistently high quality, the trims are beautiful and the workmanship is equivalent to any high quality custom treatment.That said, the most impressive factor in my recommendation lies in the consultant I worked with in my second home in Southampton NY. This far and away exceeded the experience I had years before with the consultant in Mill Valley, CA.Blythe is a master collaborator, designer and is incredibly detail oriented. She excels at both the ideas and design - in terms of fabric, fabrication and treatment recommendation and is not afraid to jump right in there with her ideas and opinions. She made every decision better. She’s also patient, hardworking and reliable - always delivering by the deadlines we set. Her attention to detail is remarkable -.from every aspect - functionality, measurement, installation and communication. She was on top of it all throughout the process. She is by far the most talented window treatment collaborator I’ve ever had the pleasure of working alongside. Literally everything was perfect. I’m fact, I also reworked a CA window with her help and it’s now my favorite set of windows in my house.She is pleasant, kind and has a keen sense of design. She understands the intricacies of fabrication and the ins and outs of ordering the right hardware and fabric sizes, lengths, widths etc to support the intended look. She’s truly a gem and I’m in love with every window we designed together. The windows look amazing!

My Designer was Blythe. I was highly recommended to her from my sister-in-law and a very good mutual friend of ours. She was wonderful. It was Covid time so we had to do everything via FaceTime and the mail to get my samples. Just from her seeing our newly decorated home, we, together picked out beautiful remote controlled blinds and the color could not have matched any better. The blinds were installed in a very timely fashion. The installer Winston and his son were very meticulous and right on spot. Large selection of shades I couldn’t find anywhere else. The store has samples in drawers so you don’t have to search through catalogs. They also give frees samples to take home. Blythe the sales person was very patient and knowledgeable. Installer was on time and did a great job. I would highly recommend this store.

I recently purchased custom fabric shades for my bedroom windows from The Shade Store in their Garden City, New York, location. Sandra, the courteous and knowledgeable sales associate who assisted me, was terrific in explaining my options, sending me swatches and helping me select my shades. In the days of COVID-19 and being unable to come into the showroom, Sandra made the process fun and easy.Once I made my selection, Juan, the installer, came over to measure complete with mask, gloves and even booties. Juan also installed my shades several weeks later. He was professional, skilled and did a picture perfect job on my windows!I learned that The Shade Store has been in business since 1946, that their shades are all hand-crafted in the USA and that none of their installers are out-sourced and have been with the Shade Store for years… another plus. The shade store is a great place to get a visual of what the actual blinds and shades look like. The salesperson I dealt with, Sandra Harding was lovely. After spending lots of time assisting me with possible color coordinations with actual paint chips, she sent me home with loads of samples to help decide on the colors that blended with my decor. I was able to make a decision in the comfort of my home with actual blinds. I had a quote within a day. I had blinds in two weeks time. The technician was prompt and accurate. He was also the same person that installed the blinds. It took a lot of worry off my back!!

I had such a great experience with The Shade Store. I worked with Liz Irwin who is excellent at her job. Her level of patience was extraordinary and she helped me through every step of the way. I had about 30 windows to pick treatments for and she was very helpful. If I found a swatch that I liked better, she didnt hesitate to agree (whereas some designs would be offended if you didnt like their choice). Having a young child at home makes it hard to spend time in the showroom and we did most of our communication via e-mail. She even mailed me boxes of swatches to my house. Never once did I feel pressured by her. The installation team they recommend was top notch as well. Overall a great experience!

Although there was a small hiccup with four of the valances [no fault of Winston] he immediately saw the issue and after the install, called the warehouse and informed them we would need remakes to be done. Talk about integrity. If Winston would never have told me that, i would have been none the wiser. Wow! Amazing that in this day an age, there are individuals that care about good honest work and regardless of this small imperfection, he made mention of it. Thank you Winston. I had new roman shades installed in my living room (Jeffrey Alan Marks Intuitive in Pewter) and they are GORGEOUS!!! OMG, I am so happy - these roman shades are beautiful, surpassed my expectations (and the installer (Mike) thought so too). It changed the whole look of my living room. The windows are like a section of their own now, like a focal point, and a nice one too. The material is thick and rich, theyre almost blackout curtains when they are down, the colors are just enough (the stripe is a very warm gray with mauve undertones, but still gray), the whole look is very charismatic. In addition, they match my furniture/color schemes/decor just perfect. Anyway, thank you Lisa and Blythe for all your help and recommending this fabric (and so glad my husband liked your suggestion too).

2022-01-31My husband and I just finished a gut renovation of our home and needed window treatments. Our entire first floor has an open floor plan with various different window/door styles. We worked with Rachel and I cannot say enough how helpful, informative and amazing she made the process. She listened to exactly what we were looking for and how wed be using the spaces. She helped me create custom valences to make everything look incredible! We had so much fun picking out our designs from the wide variety of fabric choices they offer. 2022-01-25Our overall experience with the shade store was flawless. Blythe Tract is an amazing representatives. Her attention to detail, foresightfulness and product knowledge are extremally professional. It is rare in todays world to have someone who is as knowledgeable and amicable as Blythe. The installation was equally smooth. Mark Moreno ( the installer) did a great job. He was polite and cleaned up so there was no debris nor mess after the installation. I can only recommend The Shade Store and would definitely use them again.

2021-12-18I recently purchased a double roller shade and a Aventura Roman shade. Both for bathrooms. I cannot say enough good things about The Shade Store. We worked with Lisa Cook at the Garden City, NY location. She was very helpful in guiding us as to what would look best in each of our bathrooms. She also let us know that if we sent her a picture of the space they could do a virtual rendering. This was very helpful in making our choices. Installation was also seemless. We are so happy with our new window treatments.

2022-01-25I have been delighted to work with Blythe Tract from the Shade Store in New York City. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient and dedicated to her work. We are currently working on two large commercial projects in Manhattan. Blythe and her associates are easy to get in touch with and respond quickly to all matters. Last week we completed a residential project in Lake Tahoe which looks fantastic. The Shade Store products are exquisite and I am very impressed with the company service. She not only captured our aesthetic but was a wealth of information on design and functionality....and made this an easy and rewarding process. We love our Nate Berkus roller shades. I work in the industry but was super overwhelmed when it came to ordering window treatments, and Rachel was knowledgeable and extremely helpful throughout the entire process! Having many years of design experience herself, she was able to offer advice and helped us choose the most beautiful treatments for our home. We are already looking forward to working with her again on the next phase of our house and I have been mentioning her name to my closest family and friends. She answered all of our emails in a timely manner and even during her time off. And when we did, Blythe took care of us from beginning to end. She showed us diff samples, answered all of our questions, and helped us decide the best and most affordable shades within our budget.
