Great service, great product (did wood blinds in 2 bedrooms) ... from start to finish, we had a very good experience with The Shade Store. Pros.
For the price I paid for a set of roller blinds, the ends are fraying yet again (they fixed it by jamming a piece of paper to even out the shade...) & they never returned any phone calls for new installations in my apartment & repairs. Guess theyre too busy and have enough business! Going elsewhere. “Big mistake. Huge!”
Agree with some of the comments here. Staff has no answer and is not trained for any customer service when something’s wrong. Measurement and installation had to be scheduled three times over the past few months and we still have 3 windows out of 5 without shades. Mistakes can happen but the lack of customer satisfaction processes is unacceptable for a premium service.
I ordered two shades from this store along with installation. The whole experience was pretty good. I did find some minor damages to the shades so knocked off one star. Overall, pretty satisfied with how the shades look.
The staff here is rude and condescending — even by New York standards. From the moment you walk in, the place is empty and they all just stare at you. The salesman I dealt with (an older man) was just unnecessarily nasty. Questions are treated with a dismissive attitude, so if you don’t come in here knowing the ins and outs of draperies be prepared to get disrespected. Took my business elsewhere, wasn’t interested in rewarding that type of behavior.
I am on my third re-order for my $1,200 shades. To get through to this Soho store is impossible unless I walk there in person. I have to call for days and email before I get a call back or an email return and its always from different people. Never again, Shade Store!

She was informative and helpful from the start, she made the entire process from measurements, shade material selection, installation coordination and follow up pleasurable and efficient. Both our in home measurement appointment and installation with Oscar was excellent. For quality, professionalism, selection and quality we would highly recommend the Shade Store.

2022-03-21The Shade Store located at 77 Wooster Street in the middle of fashionable SoHo, and nyu territory.The store is west of the major shopping area of Broadway, there you will find the likes of Nike, Levis, Bloomingdales and several Starbucks locations. The store is quite big and spacious with huge windows that let in plenty of sunlight.The one thing the store lacks is music. You can hear a pin drop most of the time.Btw and fyi, their price for the Cascade shade is coming in cheaper than Home Depot by a half. .im just saying, and besides, the service is better here also.Happy shopping.

2020-11-06I couldnt be happier with the shade store! From the online consultation, measurement and immediate samples being sent to the ease of decisioning and matching to my aesthetic. Then the actual installation was painless.. the technician arrived only to find that my windows were so large and difficult to mount... but not a problem! The technical called for backup and within 20 minutes another technican arrived to install everything... within 15 minutes I had fully installed blinds ... it was amazing... they packed up every box, wrapping and old window furnishings and took away leaving me with the most gorgeous new blinds! thank you shade store!!

2017-09-13I ordered custom roller shades from the shade store and couldnt be happier! The product and materials are truly top notch. The showroom is beautiful and the design consultant who helped me was awesome. And the folks who came to measure and install couldnt have been nicer, very professional, and did a great job. Cant say enough good things. The shades have given new life to my apartment - who wouldve thought window treatments could have that effect:)

2014-07-07Over the past six years, I have installed shade store shades on almost a dozen interior spaces. If you are diligent with your dimensions, the ordering process is easy, the product is delivered labeled by window/room/space (if you provide this during the order in their helpful label space), and I have never found the product lacking in quality. These are not top of the line shades but are priced competitively for their quality. I have found the shipping to be extremely reliable (unfortunately it appears like all situations there are exceptions). Recommended.

2015-08-18I basically called them to tell them its messed up that people spend $800 on curtains and then leave the installation in the hands of stupid people that dont have good client service.Shade store should ask the client what time is convenient for THEM, then find an installer who is availableThe client shouldnt have to worry about tracking/scheduling the installation.Were too busy for this.
