I ordered rice and fried chicken i could not tell what was under the chicken its a total mess, i am taking it back to be honest. The service was very poor, very low energy people working, no care at all, its my first time and my last.
First time visiting and I was very pleased Escovich fish had the right flavor. But the festivals were as hard as rock I could not eat them.
Called to make an order today Saturday 11/12/2022 around 2pm. The girl that picked up the phone was very disrespectful. I called every Saturday to order lunch and dinner. Same thing everytime. She made my order experience horrible. Everything I ordered she told me I had to asked for at the counter when I come in, first time hearing this nonsense. So why hv an order system then? She hang up on me even before I completed my order. Plz workers if yall having a bad day, just stay home and dont take it out on everyone else. Workers attitude like this make customers afraid to call or even go into the store to order food and it alway the Jamaican businesses....Otherwise from that the food is ok... Taking my business to the door next time, even though I heard its the same owner
You wont be disappointed. I wasnt a fan of the baked macaroni and cheese pie, it had too much mustard. The jerk chicken, escovitch chicken and festival were great. I will definitely be getting food from here again. I ordered through Uber Eats and my food came on time with no issues.
This place is over rated now when they first opened years ago food was good. Now several different times and different ideas was either over cooked, under cooked, salty or just plain fresh they have no medium not sure if they have a new chef but they need to evaluate the kitchen.
Good food. The curry goat with white rice was too over-seasoned but it did the job. Wait time a little excessive at 10 mins for one item and no line. I’d dine here again but maybe get the oxtail instead.

The food is mad good. I wish their Mac and cheese was hitting hitting but it’s not lol. Service could be better. It’s soooo many orders being made and sitting on the side I feel like that’s what makes them move slow. I usually get the oxtail or jerk chicken and it never fails

I don’t know if the chef was changed in recent months or what but the food has gone down in taste and it is now waaaaay too spicy.who said everyone wants a pepper pot in their mouth.why was the collard greens so spicy? What’s that for? Stew peas extra spicy. Chicken dishes extra spicy!!! Makes no sense.my children as well as my granny cannot eat it because of the overwhelming unnecessary spicy taste! There should be an option for everyone.the chef needs to be changed again IF that’s what has occurred. No more smokehouse for me.
When I order stew peas please STOP giving a full plate of white rice with a drop of peas off to the side. It’s ridiculous! Who wants all that rice? How many times must I ask for a small portion of rice with mostly peas and I will pay extra if that’s what it takes. I do not want a giant portion of rice covering more than half of the plate covered with just a small topping of stew peas. As you put the fork in the peas, there nothing but rice underneath everywhere! I am so mad right now!
The rating is for the service because the food is good and deserves at least 4 stars. I was in the area so I went into the restaurant and place my order at 2:40pm and I did not get the order until 3:25pm. They cater to Uber Eats first and then even if you call in your order prepare to wait at least 15-30 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.
DRY and THERES NEVER ANY GRAVY.You have to wait over an hour for dry rice and chicken. How do you not know how much to make for the day to accommodate all customers? I wouldn’t recommend ordering here. Yardies down the blvd is cheaper and provides better portions.
3 1/2 score because The menu on the web said They sold shrimp and cornbread. I went there and the lady said they dont have shrimp and the cornbread they just didnt have any today. Also they only take cash. I give a score of four for The jerk chicken because it was very good and their jerk sauce ( not too spicy). I also enjoyed the flavor of their rice and peas. Dont get confused my American lingual friends peas mean beans coming from their language. I was expecting green peas. The planta was okay. Now heres a score of one for their cabbage and macaroni and cheese. They had no seasoning! Have you some seasoning salt and pepper on hand and some melted butter if you buy those items. The green salad that came with my meal was tiny but a good eat. The price was reasonable. They can get real busy up in there but service was quick.
Food is really good. My favorite menu item is the Brown stew snapper meal. Some of the servers are really nice while others just have the worse attitude.

Best Jamaican food in Queens. Not the best looking place but the food more then make up for that. If your ever in the neighborhood stop by its worth it.I once believed in this place but not anymore. Today would be the last time I ever pay this place a visit. Sat Jan 29th nyc got hit with snow. After countless hours of shoveling I got hungry. Called up smokehouse at 7:30 thinking nothing of it since the place normally closes at 11. After speaking to the gentleman he told me thier was no rice and dishes were limited. I told no worries Ill just take the meat. Left my house not to long after and arrived 8:15. It took me longer to get there because of the snow of course. Normally its about a 15 min walk.When I arrived I tried to open the door and to my surprise it was locked. There was a lady in their pretending to sweep and ignore the knocking on the door. When they notice that I wasnt letting up they closed the automatic gate on me. But fate had other plans as one of the gates jammed and didnt go all the way down. Determined I went to the side of the restaurant and put up my fingers indicating what number I order. They finally got tired of me and lifted the gates just to tell me there is no more orders here. I could clearly see a few orders that wasnt picked up on the table from the window.Im truly upset as there was no warning of the store closing early. They could have communicated that before having me walk through the snow just to be told we dont have anything.Ive been going to this place for years and could swear by it even though the customer service is somewhat unconsistent.Sad as I truly loved the place but this is completely unacceptable. Especially to treat your customers in this fashion.
The food is really good. So far Ive had salmon, oxtails. Fried chicken rice and peas and mac and cheese. They are really selfish with the mac and cheese. 😁But the food is fresh. The salmon was the bomb today for mothers day thank you!

Wanted some Jamaican food and decided to stop by since I was in the area. Order directly at the counter and had to wait 45minutes to get my food. At least 2 customers that ordered behind me got there orders before me. Ordered both jerk chicken and pork that truly was delicious 😋. Once a better way is developed for customers to receive their orders faster or even more efficiently, I could see myself becoming a regular 🤔. Great food but chaotic distribution.

There food is expensive $22 for a large oxtail which looks like a medium I finished it so to me it wasnt a large I get a large sesame chicken at the Chinese store for $9 and still have food left over for the next day.

Do not order here , 36.00 for a small gallon of lemon ginger juice . I tried to exchange when I came into pick up but they refused . Their attitude was disgusting. I am being refunded my money but there people are ripping people off . How a gallon of juice cost more than the chicken . There are way better Jamaican restaurants to go to . These people are garbage and know nothing about customer service . On top of that the juice tasted really nasty .

8.9.21 Went back again to this spot today and I was thinking the service would have been better but not the case. Wait time is ridiculous and service staff attitude stinks to high heavens. It’s better to do Uber Eats for Smokehouse instead of having to deal with the hassle of waiting for your food. I called ahead and ordered my food, however I waited 35 minutes and was unable to get any updates. I had to leave because it was taking too long and I had waited for my food, just to keep hearing the same run around about already giving the servers my number and they’re just waiting. It’s always been like this, but it has definitely gone worse. The customer service is very poor, as well as the attitudes of the staff. By the time you get the food you’re not even yearning for it anymore because you waited so long to get it, while being disrespected. Not to mention the presentation of the food. It’s always sloppy whether you pick it up yourself or use an courier. It all needs work!

The quality of food has sadly decreased. This was my go-to spot for years. Food use to be excellent...not no more. Last few months the jerk chicken and pork is VERY hard and dry. The ox tail is mostly bone. What a shame
I give it a 3 ONLY because theyve been slacking in service. And by that I mean, because they expanded their business towards UberEats, they have a VERY high demand of orders. The problem is the staff seem to small to keep up and its to the point where people are waiting over an hour for food. And sometimes the orders get a bit mixed up and/or it doesnt hit like its supposed to. HOWEVER this is not to say they are bad..THEY HAVE GREAT FOOD! But they have to do better with their staffing and workforce if they theyre going to be exposing themselves to high volumes of orders.
They need a better order of service with ordering and pick up. A restaurant of this calibre should have a better system in place. Its not fair for customers to wait so long for food. Their food is very good though but just work on that please.

Best advice call your order in 10-15 mins ahead. Cash only too( edit update ) they take card now . But holy cow calling in the order 10mins ahead and still waited 40mins+ in the restaurant. Whatever this number system for orders they used needs to be replaced. If time is not on your side go elsewhere
I order a brown stew fish rice and peas with mac and cheese on Thursday. The food was definitely old. This is not the first time but again I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again. The food was horrible swimming in gravy. I call to speak to a manager heard she was in a meeting. Left my number for her to call back. She never did. I will never order from them ever again. Should have listened to my Children.
Check your order before you leave the restaurant otherwise they will answer the phone, hear your complaint and then just put you on hold over and over again until you hang up. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST. Luckily there are other Jamaican restaurants with good food and better customer service.

Be prepared for a long wait! If you can call ahead, do it. The food is good so there is always always a crowd. My personal favorites is jerk chicken/pork, rice and peas and mac&cheese. If you like a nice kick of flavor and spice, their homemade jerk sauce is the way to go.
Some dishes are good some are terrible. If you call in an order by phone and they tell you 10 minutes, be ready to wait an hour in the unorganized chaos.
This restaurant is horrible . The lady that takes the order Jenny have took my order on multiple occasions and the restaurant have got my order wrong on multiple occasions . I’m at work so I have someone pick up my food for me , the order is never complete always missing utensils , food or dressing . Today I ordered from smokehouse and I ordered a large chicken soup and jerk chicken salad. When I received my order I got a cow foot soup instead of chicken soup. On top of that I never got dressing for my salad and now I’m stuck with a dry salad . Jenny asked me was I able to come back and I stated no I’m at work . They don’t offer delivery service so it’s an inconvenience for me also .This has to stop , this is unacceptable we are in a middle of a pandemic they should be grateful that they even get service yet I feel as if I’m being taken for granted . Even though the food is good I will never order again .
Whoever cooked for 3/27 .. Wow my mouth is so thankful. I got a Jerk Chicken meal with rice and peas n collard greens....and some gravy. My god. Most flavorful rice ever. Was so satisfied i went right to sleep.
Food is consistently good.Very GOOD SERVICE DURING COVID. Staff is extremely professional compared to similar businesses in the area. The phones are always answered professionally, orders taken quickly and correctly. Numbers system for food pick up is always correct. Overall the best Caribbean food services in New York and definitely Queens. AND THE LADIES AT THE FRONT COUNTER DONT HAVE AN ATTITUDE♡
Typical Jamaican fare, I took off stars because they are VERY unorganized. They were taking orders for things they didnt have. It took FOREVER to get grab and go food ( literally about 35 minutes at least). After all of that the food was just ok, regular Jamaican restaurant food. The portions were decent size but they stingy with the oxtail and the gravy. For dinner for 4 I paid about $66 dollars ( my husband got cake).
Good food. I love getting the Peanut Drink, it taste amazing especially for someone who is addicted to peanuts(Whoever made the drink needs an award). And Good customer service. Anyway , my only dislike is that you wait 45 minutes or even an hour for your food. So much people buy food from there.
Horrible. They take forever to get your order. If you do uber eats the drivers have to wait forever to get the order and if you call the order in 2 hours later its still not ready.
Love the food. I buy here all the time. My kitchen was under construction we order here everyday for almost three weeks. The food is not only delicious its reasonable. They also maintained social distancing. The new Salmon dinner is a winner.Kudos to the cooks.
Ordered for the first time tonight 8/16 from Uber Eats. The Candid Yams was removed from my order since it was not available. The festival and dumpling were overcooked! The jerk chicken was too salty! The mac and cheese could of been better as well.

Get the combo (jerk & bbq chicken) with sides. And the lemon ginger drink. Wait times can be lengthy but its definitely worth it.Also try the chicken soup. Definitely another go to.
Great southern and Janaican cuisine when it comes to chicken, beef or fish! But, please season the greens. Vegetarians like food well seasoned too. And I dont mean dumping pork products or too much pepper and salt in it either. Garlic, a little lawrys, onion, thyme...know what I mean? Flavor!

The food is good but the sevice is horrible, many times i order from them through uber eats and the wrong order is sent. Sunday 1/31/21 my order was missing items i called and spoke to Kadijah who informed me the person making the order made a mistake and did not place my name on both bags for the uber eats guy to know, she told me i can either pick it up or my next order they will add it, I placed an order today and called to make sure my food is added i spoke directly to the same female she placed me on hold then put Terrell on the phone to tell me a manager will get back to me i waited a while called back and asked for the manager again and was told she is too busy. It is totally unacceptable to pay for items and a service to be treated this way, we as paying customers should be treated with more respect and worth WE keep these businesses going.

Customer service is the Absolute WORST. I called to place my order you have to wait at least 5-10 minutes to do that. I purposely waited another 30 minutes before going to the restaurant and when I got there my order still wasn’t ready. One of girls said that number 45 was here and I waited another 20 minutes and I still didn’t receive my order. People who came in and ordered in got their food before me. I got so feed up and left. Totally wasted my time and all I ordered was Whitening Fish with Plantains and I couldn’t get it.
Just bought a soup and a large fried chicken rice n peas. Soup was bland had 3 very small pieces a chicken, soup before was very tasty and the chicken was good size and seasoned. Fried chicken was bland and tasted old, rice and peas which was usually good enough to eat by itself was dry and tasteless. They increased the price and cut down on the portions and seasoning. Food went from 10-5. I went from buying 3-4 times a week to 1 once every 2 weeks hoping I would get a decent meal. Don’t waste your money. Spring gardens on Springfield Blvd is pretty decent. To the owner, please put money back into the quality of the food.
The Smoke house has excellent west Indian cuisine. I especially like the barbecue chicken. It has a pop of spice yet it is still very tasty. Not just spicy. The restaurant now accepts cards which is a plus. An the customer service has taken a dramatic turn. They are polite and approachable. In addition, the food is affordable and the plates have a good portion, which is another plus. Who wants to be hungry after eating a meal. The oxtail is also another asset. Give them a try. U wont be disappointed.

This restaurant needs to look at their customer service. From the person who answer the phone to take your order. She is always sound has if you calling her personal phone . When you ask for a Supervior the take 20 mins to get answer the phone then the call is disconnected. I don’t care how good the food is I will not be going back. Which I have being getting lunch from this place over 7 years and always order for my coworkers which our bill will come over $70.

I used to frequent this restaurant a few times a week. However, the last few times have been a disappointment. Im not sure if they changed the cook or if they are just putting less care into their food. The flavor of some of the dishes (fried chicken and curry) have fallen off big time. I ordered stew peas and waited 1 1/2 hours for my food just to be told that they dont have what Ive been waiting for.The time before that was during curfew and there was about 30 people inside like a can of sardines. No social distancing, and I still had to wait 2hrs for my food even though i called ahead 30 minutes before leaving home. Customer service is extremely poor.

I waited 20 minutes for a small soup, I just left without taking my orderI wouldnt recommend this place at all if you want a quick biteIt was a SMALL soup like how does it take that long to scoop from a pot and pour into a bowl..... ridiculousness
I will never go to that place anymore I place a order by phone and when I arrived 20 minutes later it wasnt ready! I was asked several times what i ordered I waited an additional 20 minutes and didnt get what i ordered. So i got frustrated and left. This is a constant practice for them so ill no longer patronize them. They get a big F for producing orders.
Bought a small fried chicken dinner. The food was tasty but they were so stingy with the fried chicken, i felt like was eating sohso food. The worst part is they charge over $9 for chicken. The last time my son ordered from there, he had the same problem and he doesnt even like alot of meat. If it wasnt one the coldest days, i would have returned the meal for a refund, thats how mad i was at the 3 little pieces of chicken I paid $9 for. I called the store to speak with the manager, he didnt even get on the phone. Probably wont order from there anymore, not worth the price.

I found this restaurant on Uber eats and decided to give them a chance. Ordered rice and peas ( has a hint of coconut milk if youre allergic to taste ) oxtail with Mac and cheese on the side . Beverage choice was a lemon ginger juice. Strong layers of our ginger juice mixed with lemon and sugar. I will be ordering again , I actually have but will try to order from the restaurant directly.
I was disappointed because I ordered stew peas went home ready to eat they gave me oxtail. It was good anyway going back for the stew peas.
The young ladies there are GREAT, but the wait for the food is frustrating. Not to mention the customers are rude at times.(Most of the time!) Im starting to think its a cultural thing.
It wasnt bad, but it wasnt all that great either. The wait was seemingly long considering most of the food that we ordered was already prepared. We also got home only to discover that an entire entree was left off of our order. I had a small order of the curry chicken. it was a generous portion. I wont be returning, but I certainly have no reason to steer anyone away. Give it a try, just set your expectations to average.

If you ate here regularly, you knew stew chicken or stew peas was $7.25 for a small; now it’s $9.25 or so if you order macaroni & cheese with your meal. That was pretty steep in price but it is still good!Food is always good! Been coming here for years with only one minor complaint with customer service. They moved from their old small location to this bigger location and the food quality hasnt changed to me. Great amount of food for the price. It is CASH ONLY!!!!!! This place has the worst of the worst customer service I ever experienced. My husband and I ordered food and waited an whole hour than we come to find out they gave our food to someone else and we had to wait again, we left. People say the food is good and we can’t verify the hype at this time. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN! The manager needs to get new staff and find how to better serve their customers.
Staff was highly unorganized. They locked out like 15 ubereats drivers while they tried to sort orders, some customers inside the restaurant started yelling about long wait times. Avoid.
I really enjoy the food at this place but some of the staff can be rude. I always call my order in advance because the wait time sucks. The Smokehouse has replaced Jeans. Jeans was the ONLY Jamaican restaurant in St. Albans during the 1980s/1990s era, it was famous, and everyone knew about it.

The location and ambience was perfect. Mikhaela was our cashier and she handle our LARGE order flawlessly and with a smile 😊 it was a good feeling and reminded us of back home in Jamaica❤🌞 if u call ahead and make your order youll be out in minutes! 😎👌🏾
The customer service is poor. It doesn’t make a difference if you’re patient or friendly with staff. You’ll be standing around waiting for a telephoned order for 30 mins after it was due. After which you’d be advised that your meal wasn’t even available to begin with. With zero accountability as though that is OK. Waste of time and energies. You want to patron local businesses but you have to factor in lackadaisical attitude towards your time and monies. I shouldn’t have to feel lucky to order food even when it’s not busy and you took the time to call ahead.
Horrible customer service. Called 3 times because my food took two hours. Got put on hold and after waiting 5 mins every time I called back they kept having an attitude..nasty attitude and purely rude. If you want to keep customers learn to have manners. I remained polite and just asked to see if my order left the restaurant..don’t see how hard that was to ask.
Our order arrived with missing items and the best answer was: ask for a refund!!! Since the salt fish is considered a side dish cause it wasnt a full one, one of our guests at home cant eat!!! Very dissapointed and no one takes responsability on their mistake
Workers are extremely unprofessional. They don’t take down your name when you arrive and sit down other customers before you . When asked when we will be seating the hostes said “you need to go back there and cuss someone out so they can clean off the table .” If the food wasn’t good , they wouldn’t be popular in the neighborhood.
I know everyone is saying how incredible this place is but to my family and I, it is just okay. We had the jerk chicken, ribs, mac and cheese and rice and peas. The jerk chicken was extremely dry, some parts of the ribs were so hard it could not even be chewed and other parts were soft. The rice and peas had good flavor. The mac and cheese was great! The staff was friendly. The place was clean and inviting. Maybe I went on an off day or time of day (4-7pm). Almost forgot, my husband had diarrhea all night :(
I really love the food! Its so tasty and very flavorful and its coooked to perfection. The best part is that its inexpensive and its closer to my house. However it does get busy during the days and youll expect to wait for a while. But honestly its worth it to me and you can also call ahead of time to place your order so that way you wont have to wait in line. Love this place and I highly recommend people to come here to eat some good authentic Jamaican cuisine 😁😋🍴

Some of the workers are nice but theres one named Khadijah who hung up the phone while I was trying to place my order. When I called back, she didnt even apologize smh. I went inside and saw a fat lady in white (possibly the manager) talking to her friend and I politely asked for a catering menu 3 times and she looked at me & ignored me. Then she walked away. I asked another worker and the she took her sweet little time to give me. Since when is it okay for workers to have personal conversations and ignore customers requests?? Smh I will gladly spend my money elsewhere.
I like this place but I dont like how they can be rude their customers and how they dont accept card. Its hard for a business to keep running without these accommodations. I never walk around with cash therefore I dont eat here often. The food is good. I like their jerk chicken and their white rice. Also their salads are super good.
The wait is way to long for a medium oxtail and a small jerk chicken..after waiting close to 1 hour I got home to get dry rice and 3 pieces of oxtail .smh
Smokehouse is the best Jamaican fastfood place Ive been to. Its not a fancy diner or a restaurant so dont expect everything to be perfect. The food is great, the lines are long, but the workers work as fast as they can. I went in there today with 10 other people on line but still got my food in 15mins.
The food was absolutely unpalatable! The collard green had no flavor or seasoning except for salt and a bit of hot pepper. The mac n cheese was only mild cheese and some sugar. The fried chicken was ok but too salty. Dont waste your $.

The food sent to me was horrible, Preparation presentation everything about it was nasty. No salad no onions no peppers. I trash it. Never will I eat or Recommend the Smokehouse restaurant.. A chef should always take pride in his cooking and presentation. NASTY Food.
The food is great but if youre hungry dont go there cause it could take you up to one hour waiting for your food.
Good authentic Jamaican flavours ... Awesome food... Call and order prior so you can get your food when you walk in. There are only about two tables in the restaurant and from what I gather no one really uses them ...would be good if they had a mainstream upscale restaurant with dining tables; I’m sure lots of people would eat out there if they would revamp the place to cater for that...

One of my favorite places to eat! Their food is always fresh and it is ready fast as well. The mac and cheese is amazing from here. This place sometimes has wait but it is definitely worth it.

Once upon a time the food here was really good. Recently, I’ve had a lot of TERRIBLE experiences. The food is too salty and it seems as if the chef has changed. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD CHEF.

The food is great but dont let these reviews fool you. If your Jamaican you may think the ladies behind the desk are friendly. As a Haitian American women I still demand great service and these ladies are not friendly at all! If you ask a question they may decide not to answer you because they dont feel like it. Its a shame I walk in there like Im disturbing them.
The food there is very good. My favorite is the curry chicken. However the customer service is not that great and they never answer the phone for takeout orders. I dont mind waiting but every time I call they never answer the phone NEVER.Ok so my last review above was approximately one year ago and I must admit that since then they have gotten much better at answering the phone. The food is always good and they have also gotten much better at getting my order correct. So Smokehouse went from 3 stars to 4 stars.
The smokehouse has become somewhat of a neighborhood staple and replaced the role that Jeans once did and supplies good Caribbean food to those who live off of Linden and Farmers blvd. The food is delicious but the service hurts the restaurant. If you’re willing to endure the rudeness of the woman behind the register you’ll get some pretty great food. (PS, they do catering and whenever I’m attending a large event I order their large plates of chicken that never disappoint)
Food is good.but it is best to call and place your order before going. Make sure you have card is not accepted here. With everytime I go there when I get home something is always missing last time it was my drink.tried to call no one answered the phone. Besides that good.

Made my order at 7:45, got to the store at 8:11pm, my order was not ready, I stood there waiting until 8:40pm only for them to tell me they didn’t have what I ordered...highly upset because they basically wasted my time. TERRIBLE!I went to pickup someones order with the order number, at the register they ask me what the meal description is.... how the hell would I know that if Im only picking up the order by number?! 1 star is not low enough for the aggravation!
Their food are good but they service is iffy at times. Some days they give good service. Others is crazy. Today I went in there I ordered a oxtail plate . .and 10 mins later they tell me they forgot to tell me the oxtail is not ready until 20 mins later.Who does that?? (guess they do)
I love this place try it for the first time tonight I sent my husband to get the food they take credit cards as well we order jerk chicken , jerk pork Mac and cheese and oxtails and everything is tasty and well seasoned we are very pleased and we are definitely coming back 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Everything about this place is excellent. The food and staff are great. Be prepared to wait for some time for your meal but keep in mind that they are very busy. Also, they only take CASH NO CARDS.
Via ubereats I ordered stew snapper with mac and cheese with collard greens. The food was excellent!! The mac and cheese was nice and cheesy all the way through seasoned just great. The collards were great too seasoned with a tiny kick to it, and omg the red snapper stewed was delightful. Nice size portion with a lil piece of cornbread I loved it!!!!
The wait is honestly ridiculous . I waited over 40 minutes for 4 fried pieces of fish . I decided to leave , I’ve never experienced a wait that long for a SIMPLE order . It’s crazy , I doubt I will be returning . Customer service also needs to be improved
There service was nasty and very slow. I had a horrible first time experience, to start off I order my food and while in the long waiting process a lady comes up to me and tells me it will be another 30 mins. I was forced to change my order or go somewhere else to eat got the night. I than ordered some BBQ wings and mac&cheese and when driving away noticed that my plate-which was a large, was not filled to a large portion. I would recommend this place to no one.
At the moment you step in this place team give you an enjoyable feeling. Very friendly stuff, it is a good place to enjoy with friends or with your date. Great food, talented chief cook and stuff, decent cost and courteous service. Warmly recommended.
The name of the establishment says, Smokehouse. When asked about availability of ribs, the cashier had to inquire and was told all they had was 1/2 slab of Jerk ribs. No bueno for an early Sunday meal. Giving this 2 stars.
The food is fantastic. There has been a recent price increase that I think was somewhat excessive. I will have to cut back on my regular indulgences. I will just have to be more careful about what I need to order instead of what I want.

The mini Door Restaurant as many might know it to be but with not a long waiting time if you order in advance. The team makes great recommendations and the food is always perfect. Smokehouse is go to location when I am in NYC even if I cant make it there, I use Uber Eats. I recommend this location to everyone. It was great to see them at Groovin in the Park.
Food is good but they take too long on Ubereats, Im assuming that they hold your order so that the carrier can make two deliveries in one trip even though Im paying for delivery.

Nasty af. The mac n cheese had so much sugar and barely any cheese, disgusting!!! I first tried this place a few years ago the food was really good even though the customer service has always been mediocre. This is my 2nd time having a horrible experience. I wonder what happened because they’ve fallen off.

I don’t know where to start, smoke house was just okay. Now it’s just terrible, the food always changes, in 3 days the Mac and cheese always change. They don’t take card it’s ONLY cash. You can place your order 30 minutes ahead soon as you go there to pick it up you still have to wait. Sometimes they don’t have food let you order and don’t tell you.
Every time I order, I’m reminded why I only order once a year, I live literally 5 min away from this location as it takes 1 hour for the food to get here, and it’s cold at that so I have to remove the food from the foil pan to heat it back up, I’m sorry but the food good but not that good for me to have to deal with this every time I order, this location takes on wayyy to many orders at once I have come to notice, they taking phone call orders, walk ins, Uber eats, door dash, Postmates, grub hub, other unknown delivery services all at once, you walk in there and there will be like 40 orders waiting on the shelves, orders packed on the rack and near the register, and packed with people, it’s clear they need to open up another location and do a price increase to help even Out their crazy over flow of orders, And then there is no order to the madness, so u can be standing there for a long time and no one will ask you about your order or like others say they will forget about you, the order line is the pickup line the pickup up line is the order line, it’s a mess, you gotta catch them on a slow hour
The wait time here is much to long. Not at all organized. Social distancing is not properly enforced. Its very sad because food is good but no way the wait is no good.
Food is good but the fact that they dont accept debit or credit sets them back and makes it a little old fashion. They have tvs that are supposed to have menus on them but they hardly work, In comparison to its sister restaurant (The door) it is subpar.

Long wait for a dish that’s ok
I mean that its okay but I dont like it when they put a bit of a pepper and I dont like it when I asked them is there any pepper on the curry and they started to ignore me and my mom said that there is no pepper and as soon as I reached home I started to eat the curry and I tasted like the pepper taste.
I was actually just dropped off some food from here- Curry Chicken, white rice, cabbage+ plaintains and a large Mac and cheese. My friend raved and I mean raved about it and I can’t understand why because he does have all his teeth. My complete meal was so OVERCOOKED that the only person that enjoyed it was my 13 month old baby. I mean you could literally mush the Mac and cheese with your tongue. The curry chicken had no spice and lacked so much flavor- it too could be eaten without teeth smh. I couldn’t understand the cabbage, some pieces were crunchy and some were Cooked thoroughly. I’m so disappointed in this food that Im not even sure what else to write. Smh

This American Caribbean style restaurant has barbecue and and all your Caribbean favorite they sell the most amazing vegetable patties. With spinach and cheddar cheese on the inside... service can be a little slow because its always crowded they have great food at a fair price

I tried this place for the first time. The food was not good (my opinion) I ordered the combo meal of jerk chicken, cabbage, Mac n cheese and plantains (there was 1 plantain in the foil bowl, literally 1). The food made me sick! I felt weak, I wanted to throw up the whole day. I just thought I ate too much of it (which made my stomach hurt) so the next day I re-warmed my food and yes, it started to make me feel queezy again. I just ended up throwing the food away. So yeah, I wont be coming here again.Peace.

Very disorganized an slow good food but poor service
The food is super delicious, but the service level is close to a 0. Ive been there a few times, and the ladies at the front counter could be very aggressive in their speaking, but the last time I was there, the lady (young girl) was on her phone texting while I was waiting to order. She knew I was there to order, but couldnt care less, she just kept on texting. I eventually had to say helloooo to get her to look up. While I was sitting waiting for my food, a young man approached her to place his order, and she did the same thing to him. She stayed on her phone texting, and when she felt like it, she looked up at him and took his order.
Ive been coming here for a lil over 2 yrs now and with each passing day the quality of food is declining. The portions are getting smaller and smaller. Yesterday I asked for a LARGE stewed chicken and collard greens (didnt really want the greens but she insisted that I could not just order chicken I had to get a side). Opened the container and for $8 there in the pan was a drumstick and a half. This is an embarrassment! They are so lucky I did not check my order before I left the store otherwise I would have not paid for it and given it back . I ended up going to Jamaican Flavors and paying $11 for the same size large stewed chicken - ONLY. I got the same size pan and it was stuffed with almost an entire whole chicken. Shame on you Smokehouse!!
First order was 53 and change thats fine for day one I had no complains food fresh and smell great.Day 3 now 2.30pm spend near 50 again and I got over night food.if a nu over night something wrong Inna Yu kitchenBbq chicken over dried because it warm up n stayed warm chicken was so damn hard.Jerk pork I do not see why it has 3 different colours, pinkish, dry brown,rubba white in middle and that touch look ... I ordered food while I was on the grand central at 4:16 got to smokehouse at 4:48 and behold my food wasnt ready!!!! HORRIBLE AND still had to wait extra time for the food... IF I could give a ZERO I would!!!

2022-05-06Smokehouse used to be a tried and true Jamaican Restaurant in queens. Unfortunately the service and quality has declined significantly. First, there is absolutely no order to the way they service customers. Basically, if you’re loud and disrespectful they will run to fetch your order quickly, but if you’re humble and patient they will leave you standing there waiting for what seems like an eternity. Today I waited about an hour for my small order and was skipped over many times to service others. On top of that when I got home my order was partially incorrect. While the jerk chicken meal was tasty and consistent, the fried chicken was cold, soggy, and bland. Needless to say it ended up in the garbage. My jerk macaroni salad had bones in it and my six year old complained that her mac and cheese had no cheese. I’m so disappointed as I have frequented this establishment for years. They need effective management and protocols to improve quality. I am Caribbean and it is important to me to support local black owned establishments, however the service that I get at local Thai restaurants like BKNY (fast consistent service, pleasant costumer service, organization, and high quality tasty food)far supersedes the disrespect that I experienced at this establishment. The attitude here says, “ People are gonna buy it anyway…so who cares about good customer experience”. Wrong, I will not be spending my money where it is not valued. Also, whoever is dishing out the food is sloppy. The food was so sloppily thrown in the container.

2022-03-03I’ll give my review based on the taste of the food since I do only delivery.. Now the flavor is excellent and this is my go to spot for Jamaican food.. So it’s definitely a must try… The reason I gave four stars is because, there was an instance I placed an order for a large food and received a very small portion… Please note that picture I posted is not the one bad instance I mentioned..

2021-07-11I ordered the combination meal, Jerk Pork & Fry Chicken w/rice & peas. The food was delicious, pork was soft & well cooked with all the right spices, fry chicken was crispy & had flavor as well. Salad was good too. Ive been ordering from them for over two yrs & Ive never been disappointed. Their Jerk Pork is one of my favorite dish. I can never get tired of their food. Its that good. I had their fry chicken & barbecue chicken w/rice.

2021-12-02The customer service at this place is getting from bad to worse. This is the problem with Black own businesses, they don’t know how to treat their customers. You have to wait an hour for your food after you order it and if you ask them if your food is ready they give you attitude and roll their eyes at you. They are very slow and nasty so if you are on your lunch don’t waist your time.

2021-05-27For the amount of money you pay, you do not get enough oxtail. My meal had a total of 5 oxtail and then the container was filled with mostly rice. The oxtail was descent but nothing special. The rice was bland but the the turkey green vegetables were good. The one plantain it came with was tasty (I wish it came with more). I ordered a side of goat curry dipping sauce and it had way too much cumin.The jerk chicken was pretty dry but seemed more worth it for the price. It came with a BBQ dipping sauce.Note: they forgot my drink but I will not let that effect my review.

2022-05-31There is no customer service. It was my first time there and the guy behind the counter was beyond rude. Didn’t explain anything and stared at me when I asked a question. The wait wasn’t too bad and the food was mostly good… but my side order of plantains was ONE plantain. One 2 inch slice. I live nowhere near this place so it’s my loss. But I wouldn’t go there again based on the interactions

2022-06-27I just recently ordered oxtails and stew chicken combo. Omg! I have never tasted so much salt in my food. It taste like the cook put a pail of salt in the pot. I was sooo disappointed. I couldn’t enjoy my food like in the past. What is going on there! Didn’t even sleep good.

2022-03-20I have been needing to find a resturant that can cook almost like my momma use to and I have finally found it here. I ordered several times and have not been disappointed the flavors are just right and the staff gets the order on point even if you change up some things. I am glad this resturant takes pride when they are cooking good jamaican/soul food
