The Spot in other cities:
We ate here on Mothers Day. It was busier than usual of course, but that didnt deter the staff from making exceptional food and providing great service. We try to eat here whenever were in town, due to the great food at reasonable prices. My wife is absolutely in love with the spanakopita.
Food was decent. Waitress was a bit rude and didnt really check in on us. We had young children in our group and they were hungry. She asked of she should bring the food out for one of them. We told her to bring both their meals at the same time and their food came with the adult meals. It is also time to invest in new plates. My plate was cracked and its a Crack that could be felt. When there are cracks on dishes that holds the bacteria
Had a craving for liver, onions & bacon and I saw they had it on the menu. Ordered it and got 2 large slices of liver smothered with sautéed onions and lots of bacon. It was absolutely the best liver I have ever ordered out. I strongly recommend if you like liver, it was delicious! Hats off to the cook!
The Spot, quite literally, an amazing dinner with so many choices, you might have a hard time making one. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, American, Greek, or Italian. With some great alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and great desserts, this place has something for everyone. Theyre also The Spot for Tesla Superchargers in Binghamton. So come down, charge up and get some good eats!
Fathers Day, was packed. OK, expected.Ordered pricey omlete $15.95, added pancake for $2. Food arrived, plate was small obvious attempt to make portions look larger. Maybe 1/4 cup of potatoes, thin omelet 2 by 5 inches. Food was cold to touch. Tasted ok, absolutely nothing to write home about. I was extremely disappointed, I have eaten at the Spot a few times. Was always good, typical Greek restaurant, good variety, large portions.
Well 3 times usually the charm correct? WRONG went there 3 different times 3 different days and every single time we were disappointed. The service is super slow the food is either way over cooked or undercooked and gooey. Only edible item was the corn muffin I got was just right but took over a half an hr to get our food. So yeah I guess imma be crossing this place off my bucket list. Could of gotten a better meal across the road for cheaper at sonic. Smfh.
My family and I went there tonight and there service sucks. The food was nasty. My daughter ordered Spaghetti and meatballs and what it looked like was tomatoes dumped on top of Spaghetti noodles it tasted nasty. Tried to get the waitress attention and she had disappeared and when she finally showed up it took them 35 minutes to make 2 slider burgers. We will not ever go back there again and I wont recommend them to any of my friends or family. Also I think the cook only knows how to cook at a snails pace ...
Good food but for only being about 6 people in place service was slow.We waited for more than 20 min and 2nd waitress came to check on us.She went into kitchen and then about 5 min later we got our food. This is very unusual for them. When busy they seem to have better service.
Although the decor was nice and the hosts were friendly, the breakfast food was not done properly. By the looks of it, they prefer quantity over quality. The order looked okay but not tasty and bland. The coffee was satisfactory. I would rate it 2 stars, but an extra star just for the sweet older folks working at this establishment.
Great food. Great menu. Great service.Only thing to note, with required masking by NY State, several employees only wire face shields but no masks. They had signs up requiring masks, but could not follow the rules themselves. The shields are proven to not stop the spread of COVID. That was sad to see
This is a great place for breakfasts. Ill leave it at that. Fast service, and great waitress keep the coffee coming 😀.Perhaps, a little noisy at times, but when so many know of this place, it gets many customers. My 2nd favorite breakfast hash browns with onions and peppers get an A+ everytime! But my favorite meal here 24 hours a day is truly the breakfast of champions- pot of coffee and a huge slice of Bavarian cheesecake! 👍👍👍(they have many other desserts too.)
I went with my girlfriend here to dinner I ordered a gyro panini and my girlfriend got shrimp scampi on rice my panani was on the wrong bread no cooked and my lamb was microwaved then my girlfriends dish was shrimp over rice in a Lukewarm brown gravy sauce with no flavor that looked like literal diarrhea worst dining experience ever. P.s. there silverware holder was bought from chilies and the logo was crossed out with marker.
I did not like their restrictive seating policies, but the restaurant itself is very nice-looking for a diner. Breakfast food was mostly good, with the exception of the breakfast steak, which was tough and overdone. Otherwise, a very solid diner that Ill probably return to.
The Spot is a well known restaurant in the Binghamton area. We decided to try it out in hopes that it would live up to its expectations, but were extremely disappointed.Waited upwards of 20 minutes before the waitress even noticed that we were seated and ready to order. After that ensued a long 30-40 minute wait for the salads to even arrive at the table to be consumed.I ordered a Filet Mignon, rare. Upon ordered i inquired if the steak was fresh or frozen, and the waitress in quotes said “It’s fresh, they cut it right before cooking”.The steak came out in two pieces. One piece came out Medium at best, followed by the second being a little beyond medium rare (over cooked). Both cooking levels very far from the requested order. I requested another steak. The second steak came out well cooked, but lacked in flavor leading me to question wether the claim of fresh really stands up.The grouper that my fiancé ordered came out OK. The texture was good, but the flavor on the inside of the fish was absolutely nothing. It came with a small cup of sauce which helped to be able to taste something. This fish was definitely frozen prior to cooking, and I wish we inquiries about wether it was fresh or frozen prior to ordering. The soup side dish my fiancé also ordered came out room temperature. The restaurant noted faults in the service and gave us free dessert as well as removed the steak as well.
Gross! Everything was dirty. Everything. Servers were kind. Food was awful. Had a hamburger at our table and had to keep spitting out large chunks of gristle. Had the open faced roast beef - looked like turkey gravy, roast was thick and chewy with thick rubbery veins. Had a hot tea and the small hot water container had rust or crud around the spout. Shame on the health department!
6 of us went to have thanksgiving lunch here. All 6 agree this meal wasnt very good. Usually food here is real good. Maybe short staffed this day or substitute cook.or maybe ran short of ingrediants. 4 of us didnt even finish the meal. .. so. Not normal for this establishment. Hope the next time we go back the meal will be back to its normal delishousness!
Was seated immediately, brought our milks, took our order. Then we sat waiting as 5 other tables got seated, ordered and got their food and were finishing up. Cant tell you about the food, we left after an hour of hearing waitresses approaching all the tables around us, asking if there was anything else the customers would like. FOOD FOR US!!! DONT RECOMMEND! Minus stars on review.5
Great resturant with friendly attentive service. The menu is extensive with an ample variety of items from which to choose. There is everythung from omelets, burgers, sandwiches, and dinners as well as desserts. The prices are moderate. We had the salmon and stuffed flounder. Both were prepared well and were delicious. The dining areas are well kept with good decorations.
Been coming in with my son since covid restrictions loosened, the staff there from wait staff to the kitchen treat the kid like he is made out of gold, they are incredibly patient and kind and I have never yet had a poor meal there. Could not say enough good things about the people employed here, always a five star visit if being treated well matters to you.
I was looking for one of those Greek diners that New York and New Jersey are famous for. This place met my expectations with her friendly service and a menu like a book. I opted for a Reuben sandwich, which was more than I could eat at one sitting when you included the chicken and pasta soup, Cole slaw, fries and half a humongous dill pickle. I was pleased!
Gross. There are no other words. We only stopped here bc we dont love chains and every other place that was recommended to us was closed to closing soon. Menu was extensive and moderately priced. Service was slow, which was crazy bc there was easily 5 servers on the floor with a table a piece. Bland, unseasoned food. Disappointing as this was also my sons birthday and our first 5 choices were closed. Just disgusting. $90 down the drain. Our cakes were very dry and nothing remarkable. Absolutely will not visit again.
Would give 5 🌟s except I ordered Tuna melt for lunch which was cold in middle sandwich & very lil cheese on a Tuna Melt. They have about anything you can think of or be hungry for! The French Fries are awesome! Fresh made Desserts are to die for! Clean & Friendly Staff & Restaurant. A bit on the high end price. Although portions are good sized.
Upon arriving we were provided with 4 menus that’s because not only do they have a vast array of options but they have a full bar, a bakery and they serve breakfast any time. Amazing food, amazing wait staff. My husband was so impressed we went back for his birthday a couple days later!
Unfortunately this diner has employed cooks that are known drug users and dealers as one of their cooks. With Covid going on,. My family and friends will not be eating there again. A place we have enjoyed for many years, not now. Sad. Very unclean person. A wife who just was released from jail for drug sales.
I meant to post this earlier this month, but it wouldnt let me. We ordered breakfast for dinner and it was really good. After ordering, we decided to get some dessert. It was not good. Cherry cheesecake tasted like just cream cheese. The carrot cake did not resemble carrot cake. It had what tasted like apple pie filling in it and smelled like feet. Gross. I contacted them hoping for a refund for the desserts, but I received no response.
Weve always considered The Spot one of our favorite places. We live two hours away and this time I was going by on business and stopped to pick up a couple of pieces of kataifi for my wife and myself. Unfortunately, they had none available this time, but we still love this place and will come by again. All their food is great and the people are wonderful!
This place is perfect. Never disappointed when I go. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful and the prices and great.I had a veggie omlette today and loved it. I love that the home fries have onion in them. The waitress kept the coffee cups filled and was wonderful.
Service was slow due to new wait staff training. Food was delicious, portions are generous! Breakfast is served all day which I loved. Seafood was well prepared and fresh. Save room for dessert!! They have a great selection to choose from. Overall everyone in the party was satisfied and stuffed. Prices are reasonable. One of the few places in town that has charging stations for electric vehicles. Clean & well taken care of place.
Tried the beef tenderloin sandwich it was beef but there was no tenderloin tenderloin is a specific cut they should not say its tenderloin when it is not. Asked for it rare it was beyond well done there was no pink even left in the meat I never send food back but I did The waitress was amazing the rest of the food was very good.
So 2nd time visiting the spot and Im still very happy with the meal choice I made Tenderloin scrambled eggs french fries and there famous coffee all Im going to say is wow my girlfriend had eggs benedict I tried it first time for that as well and I will be coming back all the way from Connecticut just to eat here again this trip is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ already yet again if you are in the area stop on in youll leave happy and full 👍🏾
The food is usually good for those days you want a full meal at night and nothing else is open. The portions are generous, and the soups are great. The deserts are very good, the nut strudel and baklava being my favorite. My only issue us that some dishes are a bit pricey if they are not on special, and you will get the occasional food that has been re heated and not fresh at the end of the day. The staff is always friendly, and the service is good.
I loved this restaurant when I lived in Binghamton, however we had breakfast there on Monday and it was horrible. Not only did the waitress apologize to me but to five other tables that said that the food was awful. I will never go there again. 23 dollars for 4 bites of food. NEVER AGAIN
Stopped in on my way through town for breakfast- the owner was plating an AMAZING looking dessert, so I asked what it was. It turned out to be a Greek custard called Galaktoboureko. So I had it for breakfast! Absolutely delicious, and very generous portion.Very friendly staff, and the rest of the food was great. If I’m ever in the area again I will go back!
Excellent service, the fish was over cooked. We told the server who was understanding and brought us back perfectly cooked fish. This restaurant has been a favorite of friends and family for years. We cannot remember ever, before, getting a meal that was not perfect and delicious, every cook knows sometimes things dont end up the way we want. The gracious way we were treated makes us want to go back again soon. Great desserts too, but usually we have to get them to go as we are too full to eat another bite.
Great food. I try to get there as often as I can. I generally do not eat out often as I am on 220 a week income. The SPOT hit me hard.I showed the waitress the coupon I wanted to use BEFORE ORDERING. She said O.K.It hurt deeply when I had to come up with a extra $15.00 as they did not accept the coupon. A waitress should not be saying O.K unless they know the coupon can be used. It was why I let her know ahead of time I was using it.Bad business when the restaurant does not post in the entrance that they are declining purchased discounts. Also bad business if the waitress does not know they decided to dishonor the offers.
Havent been to The Spot in a while. Usually impressed with their homemade desserts. Unfortunately, our three selections left much to be desired. The Chocolate Peanut Butter pie was the worst wed ever had (unable to eat it) and pretty sure it was not made there and had recently been thawed. The blueberry pie filling was just okay while its crust was cold and mushy not a typical flaky crust. Didnt appear to be or taste freshly baked. The Black Forest cake was fine. Our other three companions had sandwiches which they said were fine. The two stars are only for the waitress who was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and comfortable.
We will never go there again!! 15 minutes after we ordered the waitress said they didnt have what I ordered. I ordeted something else. Our dinner came 5 minutes later. Mine was barely warm. The mashed potatoes were soupy and old tasting. His was meat gravy and dressing piled on the plate. He took one bite and then found a long piece of hair!!! That was it. We were done. While we should have been eating they were sweeping and mopping the floor around us. Really, there was 3 hours before they closed.
Seemingly endless choices dining menu. Seasoned staff extremely polite and very helpful. Older, mostly very dignified dining crowd. Prices are a trifle above average; Social distancing is strictly observed. Hamburger platter is a hundred times better than you get across the street at Sonic. Salad lavish. Wouldnt recommend the ice tea, drink soda or coffee or alch instead.Speaking of which - Alch menu has so many amazing choices - better than most bars.Bakery is the standard in the area for birthdays, parties, and all other occasions. Ancient history here - 40 plus years ago this was the one and only 24/7 diner in the area, and through fate, theyve held incredibly strong. Easy on and off I-81 and I-88, each.
Fantastic! Our diverse group of 11 went there on a whim. They accommodated us with no problem or attitude. Our server was wonderful and attentive. Everyone had more than enough choices off the huge menu. We ate, drank and everyone was merry, had dessert plus did not break the bank. Everything was SPOT on.
Food was disgusting, not worth the price at all. It felt like they just microwaved frozen meals, didn’t taste fresh at all. “Fresh fruit” was just old, sour canned fruit in syrup. Steak had too much fat on it. I only ate one bite of my omelette cause it was that gross. Toast was burnt. What a waste of money. Waiter was nice though. (She was new but the lady that was training her was very rude to her)
Having heard other reviews of this place, I had to check it out.The decor is exactly what I want, outdated... or should I say vintage? It looks exactly like the diners I went to as a kid, and I loved it. Now you may disagree, since there is a distinct 80s and 90s vibe, but I thought it was suitable for a diner that has been around a long time. It was very clean, and while dated, all the chairs and tables were solid. It really did feel like I was a kid walking into an old diner from my childhood. The food was all good, no complaints. Typical diner food with a relatively large selection of seafood and steaks, with other special dinners. I had a gyro and a few sides. Portions were good, and no complaints about the food. The only complaint I have is that is was more expensive than I expected. Normal food was alright priced, but some dinners were in the $18-$30 range, which for a diner, is high.Overall though, if you want a blast from the past, check it out.
Stopped by to use the Tesla Supercharger and for breakfast. Though my eggs over easy was ok, The home fries were a little underwhelming and not very tasty. Some portions were even just big chunks of potato. Unfortunately the fresh fruit with the sherbet was hardly fresh. Still not bad for a quick stop and charge so cant complain too much.
12/19/20 Currently open. Sit down with social distancing compliance.Traveling: about 1.4 miles off/on highway exit.Handicap accessible.Children friendly.Typical American & Greek food served here. Breakfast always served. Portions are enormous! Always have an extensive Specials menu here.No dedicated GF menu.Take out is great. Dont bother with DD or GH, just go pick it up yourself and then youll be able to pick out an amazing speciality dessert.Youll be ordering just as though youre eating in. The server will make sure you have all of your food, down to bread, butter & utensils.... so PLEASE tip her when she hands you the food. Not sure if the private party large rooms are open during the PandemicTheres Ms. Pac Man and Galaga arcade games in the lobby!
Theres such a large selection of cuisine, American and Greek with a surprisingly large offering of fresh seafood. The cost of very full plates with generous portions for tomorrows lunch or dinner is very modest. Our waitress, Mandii, was a sweetheart and very patient with my elderly parents. The Spot was present in my life 50 years ago, and returning was so awesome. I recommend you try this restaurant, youll feel right at home. Specifically, I tried the Greek multi platter, and the spinach cheese pie was excellent. My spouse had spaghetti with GIANT meatballs, mom and dad had hot turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes, all homemade goodness, with lots of creamy drippings and milk gravy. We didnt have the huge luscious offerings of desserts, but they were so tempting. Go now and have a great experience!
Food is terrible. I had western, sandwich onion and peppers were big chucks. I could barely find the egg. Fresh fruit old and rubbery. Mac and cheese. Yuk.,hot turkey sandwich gravy horrible. Prices are very high. Place is old and needs remodeling. At least are waitress was great. Will never eat there again.
Crazy interior, decent food, and lovely service. Portions were BIG and we left very full for our long drive. Everything appeared bland but food was flavorful. The breakfast potatoes were a bit soft and almost slimey but still tasty. our server was a very friendly and happy but not overbearing. the entrance was unique as it had a ton of mirrors. It almost felt like a fun house because I couldnt tell which direction the hostess was.
Average diner food with large portions. NOT gluten friendly - even the fries are gluten laden. parking lot is dark and not a lot of traffic. Tesla supercharger is in a very dark area but next to the road. bathrooms are clean. they also have a variety of pastries for sale (cookies, danishes, etc) for very reasonable prices.
Great Greek Menu, wonderful breakfast choices, wide range of lunch and dinner choices. They serve excellent baked deserts. We returned almost a year later. Had another outstanding breakfast. My choice was the Spanish omelette. The wife and I both agree that their breakfast potatoes are delicious. The place is lovely, if you walk around the premises. Enjoyed their Christmas decorations.
Did not care for food at all. I was unimpressed with preparation, presentation, and taste. Plus, it is really expensive. The deserts we got to go were $50 by themselves. The chocolate cheesecake was good, but the coconut creme tasted like thawed out plastic. The one positive thing is the service was pretty good.
Service from Sarah was great and the gyro was even better. Although the pasticio and lasagna are warmed in the microwave and arrived on my table cold, management made up for it by providing two free desserts. The best thing on the menu is the cheesecake, eat light and save room for dessert.
This used to be a great 24 seven place for college students to come and hang out, are used to be a great place for your friends to go eat. It was the tote to go to restaurant in the area. Now it’s just like every other restaurant open basic hours and has nothing special about it. I found three hairs in my sandwich but they did give me a free piece of pie that was five bucks so I excepted it. I suggest you go back to your 24 hour service and figure out a way to make it work for you guys so that you get better reviews and Or back to the famous restaurant you used to be. You can do better than this I know it might be expensive to stay open all night but that is what you were known for and you have strayed away from being what you originally were.
The waitress was wonderful and very efficient. The food:Not so good: The scrambled eggs looked like they had gone through a grinder, cold, dry and barely one egg. I had biscuits and sausage gravy. Everything on the plate was cold to the point, the gravy was a glob. I did not send the food back, I am always worried of what I might get back .
The service is great, but those prices are crazy. I had an omelette with toast and potatoes with a cup of coffee. The homefries were mostly chopped up left over french fries. $14.My companion ordered an American cheese omelette. Hes diabetic and so doesnt eat the potatoes or toast and so asked if the price was lower without them. Nope.$9 for eggs and cheese. Really?Tried the place, being new to the area. Its a diner, for crying out loud. $25 for breakfast?
This place has truly gone down hill I went there with my sister last week and we absolutely hated it. My sister ordered the lamb and beef gyro and it clearly only had lamb on it no beef. The soup cups were wayyy to small not even a big enough portion for a toddler. I ordered the steak and cheese sub and let me tell you I was not impressed it was just so bland and saturated in grease and it left a nasty lingering taste in my mouth all day the coleslaw they offered was warm and soggy. The waitress did not even offer us the specials of the day and they had the specials from the day prior in the menu so it was completely inaccurate. We had to keep asking for napkins because they dont bring enough to the table and it was just a terrible experience and highly overpriced we both wanted a salad but didnt wanna pay the crazy price just for a few pieces of lettuce. So all in all we both agreed we wont be returning again. Though I hate to bash local businesses I felt the need to give my opinion this time. Get it together Spot please!!!
They got both my boyfriends and my order wrong and then argued with us over it. Charged us the wrong price even though I pointed out in the menu the price listed. Mind you we ate there all the time. Needless to say we have never gone back. Absolutely horrible. There are so many amazing local diners that not only have better food but way better staff.
When we arrived the hostess was on her cell phone. We waited a minute or so and then were seated. The waitresses were all lovely and came by to refill coffees and check up on us. The waitress suggested to substitute the potatoes with fresh fruit since I didnt want the potatoes. My eggs, bacon & rye toast was made the way I asked. My friends potatoes were cold. Her hash was delicious.
The old place is showing its wear - worn tabletops and lampshades, seat coverings, flooring, etc. One would think for the prices they charge they would update the decor. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food - seems to have declined in quality over the years. It seems very institutional rather than family diner/restaurant. The prices are much higher than you might normally expect at a place like this. I ordered from the Sunday special menu - and was a bit surprised to see basic turkey and stuffing priced at $16.95.The bread delivered with the meal was so dry and stale nobody ate any and the general consensus of our group of 12 was that nobody had anything more than a so-so meal. Maybe they would do better offering a smaller number of menu items and focus on doing a few things well instead of many things mediocre.
Its great if you want to wait for your food for an hour with a party of 13(not a big party). The food and the service are generally below average in my opinion for the pricing especially. At a restaurant that charges $8 four cheese whiz and bacon fries and $25 for broiled fish you would expect better if not more friendly service and communication. This place needs to do way better!
I was more than disappointed in how dirty the place was, it wasn’t busy so the girl’s should have been cleaning all they were doing was sitting and talking, cob webs and dirt, the tables and chairs were even dirty. It was once a great place to stop not anymore it’s like they don’t care
Weve stopped at this place to make use of the Tesla Supercharger to and from a family reunion the last couple of years. Though the food is good, the service is very slow. Every time, its taken a very long time for a waitress to tend to us, so weve resorted to things that are quick.Be prepared to get up to move your vehicle mid-meal as, at times, the chargers are packed.
Old haunt from my youth in Binghamton, NY. Stopped in late one night while visiting from out of town (I live in glorious Kansas City now) and wasnt disappointed. Server was pleasant. Coffee was fresh and tasted just like I remember it. Omelet I ordered was a good size and hot off the griddle. Not sure when Ill be back in this part of the country again, but Ill definitely stop in again - for BOTH the food/coffee and nostalgia.
Wait staff is nice. A little slow but it was busy. Had their French dip special. Worst sandwich Ive ever had. Overcooked meat, no seasoning. Aujus tasted like water. Bun was flat, wouldnt absorb for dipping. Waitress was apologetic, but the cook didnt care, as they didnt come out. Not going back for a very long time.
Seasoned waitress seemed impatient and was neglectful. She was too preoccupied with chatting with coworkers & acquaintances to check up with us. Couldnt get her attention for more coffee until she was ready to bring the check. She never asked how our meal was. The decaf coffee was great and so was the cheesecake. The tenderloin steak was cooked to perfection and tender but tasted like dead cow -- rather gamey with no seasoning. Pricey meal for what it was altogether.
Unfortunately, extremely poor service. My daughter ordered a coffee immediately after being seated. Ten minutes went by, and no coffee. She finally went up to the counter and asked for a cup of coffee there. Food service was equally slow. After four visits in two months at roughly the 7pm timeframe, this seems to be their normal pace. We are going to address this issue during the daytime hours of operation with the owners.
The spot has been around forever. It was a great late-night place to go eat when I was younger after going out dancing. The food is your typical Greek food. It tastes good, good size portions and they also have sandwiches and wraps and salads, but the desserts are amazing most of them that I have tried.
In a college town, you need a go to 24 hour joint, and for Binghamton University, The Spot is it. At least for those with a car since its 10 minutes or so away by car.Otherwise The Spot is a serviceable if not good Greek style diner. The portions are large and the food quality and service is good! The prices are fine considering how big the portions are.So if youre in the mood for a quality diner, give The Spot a try!
Drove here thinking i was going to have enough time to get some pre made desserts. Showed up 5 minutes before they closed and doors were locked and they were rude about it. Maybe they should change their hours to 8:50 if they dont wanna sell anything quick right before close.
The place is clean and has good service. The food was awful. The shrimp scampi looked and tasted like it was from last week. They served it to me with burned sauce, actually had herd brown crust like it burned in the pan. Alfredo sauce is supposed to be light in color and creamy in taste, not brown, coagulated, and running with grease. She ordered the prime rib cooked medium. It came out browned, but raw in the center. I MEAN RAW. They took it back but instead of offering another cut, they over cooked the piece that she had and brought it out in pieces. The manager didnt even offer a discount. I did not get charged for the scampi as I refused to accept it. This used to be the place to go for years but not now. Hope they get it together.
Prices were high for the quality and quantity of food we ordered. We order the seafood platter and crab legs. Shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. The crab legs were over cooked and dry making it hard to really shld the crab meat out. The service was moderate. The table we had was not well cleaned nor the seats. The entranceway smelled freshly bleached when we entered and left. This was mid afternoon between lunch and dinner rushes so it should have been better for attention to detail.
I was in Binghamton on a semi-lengthy business trip, as in, about a month. After trying a few other dining places, I settled here and it was the only place I would go after that. I loved the atmosphere and the food, and the waiters/waitresses and staff treated me like I was family. An all around great place!
Waited on quickly and food came out fairly quick. But after that service went down hill fast. Only saw waitress once after that and when we finished our meal the plates sat there for a good 10 minutes. Had to have the hostess get a togo box and the check. Would not recommend this establishment in the future.
Took my Brother & Sister-n-Law out for Dinner we were all disappointed. Soup was Cold, my Pound Ribeye was so tough could not even cut into it. They gave me canned string beans soft like baby food. Brothers seafood was ok. Used to be very good way back They definitely need better Cooks!
Dont take your kids! The owner was our waitress and proceeded to talk about my children just a few ft away. They were getting anxious because we were about done with our meal and she was complaining to another customer how rude they were. They were actually behaving. No screaming or rude behavior just getting silly. When ordering food she was also snippy and rushing. First time visiting and will not be back. Unless your over 55 stay away
Large diner with a huge menu and several daily specials. I ordered the broiled Halibut cooked nicely but had a strong flavor, I thought Halibut was a mild fish. Wife had roast beef and mashed taters. She thought it to be bland, and the mased potatoes were basically flavorless. On the bright side they serve alcoholic beverages, and our waitress did a good job.
I had the half rack of honey mustard ribs with the mashed potatoes and green beans for $13. The ribs were falling off the bone and the sauce was really good. You could tell that the mashed potatoes were homemade by the chunks of potato still in it. I love diners and I think this is one of my favorites. Ps if you go for anything do for the deserts because they are soooooo good.
Its a dinerUpdate 2/23/18Used to love coming here with my dad for lunch. We always got the same thing. Was my favorite time of week. Last week we went there for my bday and my dad had a long thick black hair in his food. It was so gross. He lost his appetite after this as did I. They took his meal off the bill, but gave us a problem about the cake we brought in for my birthday after this whole ordeal! They made us feel like it was our fault there was a discusting hair in our food.
Ordered sword fish which w a s supposed to be on special that day. Got a way over cooked piece of something that look more like mako shark and for the first time in my life had bones in it something I had never seen in a piece of swordfish. The meat portion was half black at Babes of fat in it smelled and tasted terrible. The salad was okay actually good and the french fries were fine. We wanted to have dessert but it took forever for the waitress to return so we decided wed buy dessert on the way home. Very very nasty food bad service will never go there again.
Great little diner that we use to stop and relax whenever we travel through upstate New York... They have great soups, salads, burgers and delicious diner meals and decadent desserts. It is way better than fast food options and it is like a diner from back in time... Love it here.
For such a fancy looking place i expected the food to be a lot better. I went there for a simple breakfast of coffee, two eggs, sausage, homefries and toast, which was all for about 10$. The coffee tasted burnt, the hashbrowns were EXTREMELY bland(literally just chipped up boiled potatoes thrown on a flat top griddle), the sausages were alright, the eggs and toast were ok and the waitstaff was extremely forgetful. Everything looked good but i will definitely not be a return customer, especially not for breakfast at this diner.
There were only two of us and we waited 45 min and didnt even have a salad yet. They said it was because they had a big table ahead of us. Seriously? I guess the cook can only handle only one table at a time. If it was going to be that long they should have told us that up front. I know at least 3 tables got up and walked out. Unbelievable!!!
Ordered with grubhub. Food was on time. But I was brought old stale coleslaw, and old mozzarella sticks with WATERED down marinara. My chicken panini sandwich was literally a piece of chicken and a slice of cheese on bread. Was NOT served with tomato or lettuce. I basically spent 25$ on their leftovers. Dont order delivery. Probably wont go back to sit and eat either.
I have never visited a Greek Owned Restaurant that doesnt serve a variety of vegetables with Entrees. Also, I notice that their prices are well over 20-25% above most other Greek Owned Restaurants, if not regular owned restaurants, that Ive had the pleasure to visit. For the most part, what I noticed is this restaurant is struggling to stay afloat. First they have the place decorated like a casino, with Lottery or Scratchoff tickets, to help with where they arent succeeding with food sales. Then what food they do sell, its all well overpriced. They desperately need help. I wish them well. They need Restaurant Impossible or Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.
Food had no taste. My chef salad was a huge roll of cold cuts and cheese rolled up on top of a bed of lettice with a discolored boiled egg. Chicken wings were over fried, very greasy with no flavor, literally a pool a pool of grease collected on the bottom of my plate.
Terrible. Burnt bottom of the pot coffee, asked for well done homefries got almost done homefries and was told if not done enough I can get french fries.... Omelette was runny and I was told it was the cheese that is runny, but the omelette was barely warm enough to melt the cheese. Toast was good..... Best part of Breakfast was leaving the place.
I used to enjoy going here until today. Around 930am on 3/19/19 I had breakfast. I was in eye sight of the man working behind the bar/bakery area and this man kept watching me eat. I had my headphones on in order to try to ignore him. I thought maybe I was being paranoid until I got up to pay. The man at the bar then moved to watch me walk up to the pay station and then tried to play it off because I made eye contact with him. Did he think I was going to walk out without paying? I know I dont look like your typical customer base, but you really ought to have better faith in people.
I dont know if it changed owners, managers, chefs. My husband got mashed potatoes that you could literally pour out of the bowl, told the waitress, no response other than a shrug off the shoulders. Next time we went he got a hot turkey sandwich, the turkey was like jerky, couldnt cut it, waitress got manager and her response was she could give him a free dessert.

2022-06-22Food sucks and over priced. Only thing great at restaurant was Saige the waitress. Poor lady can’t do anything about menu or decor from 1940s. Omlette was cold and cheese inside not cooked. Also a blob of cheese. Waffle was soggy in kiddie. The crossaint was toasted - who does that …… decor of restaurant made it look dirtyWorst experience ever. I come to this area a lot due to Tesla charger on parking lot but I will never ever eat here again

2022-01-20I visited this restaurant for the first time on the advice of a good friend. He stated that he had been there in the past and the food was excellent. Even though it was past lunchtime I did order a breakfast. I ordered two eggs sunny side up and corn beef hash. I found after eating most of the eggs that there was a dark colored hair underneath the eggs. When I showed this to the waitress she stated that she doesn’t cook the food. I informed her that I wouldn’t be eating the meal and she removed it from table. She came back 5 minutes later and told me that it could not have been anybody in the kitchen. I’m not sure if all kitchen staff are bald or maybe they all have blond or red hair. There was no apology or any real sense of satisfaction. My suggestion to owner is that people with hair working In the kitchen should wear hair net at all times. Also I was required to wear a mask when entering but most waitresses were mask less. I will not be visiting there anytime soon.

2021-10-07I started with the Greek Salad and that was good. My wife started with Chicken pasta and she liked that. I got the southern fried catfish with sausage gravy. The cat fish was nasty and probably should have been thrown out a week ago. I only had 2 bites. Fries were crispy and good. My wife got the Turkey club with potato salad. Bread was burnt a little bit but was edible. Potato salad was ok. Waitress took the catfish of the bill. Place was clean.

2021-10-12One of our favorite diners in the area. Adding the Tesla superchargers is a big plus. You can also charge your phone inside. The menu is huge with many choices in breakfast, sandwiches, and main entrees. If youre a dessert fan, save room. The pies and cakes are gorgeous!

2022-02-12This place was great, as soon as I sat down the waitress walked up with small cups of water and asked what I wanted to drink. The food was actually great, and the restaurant had the same environment as I imagine it did in the 70s. The desserts looked great, and they had a Ms Pacman arcade game! Very nice.
