What else can I say but WOW - this is truly a magnificent hotel. The service was the standout feature of the property with the entire staff going above and beyond to make my stay pleasant, and the butler service was truly extraordinary - something I had never experienced in a hotel before. No matter what I needed I was able to get it from the butler who was available at all times. Since I booked through AMEX’s FHR program, I got upgraded to a suite for free and got to enjoy the food at the Astor Court for free. The food was excellent and not offensively overpriced unlike the Four Seasons Hotel downtown. My room was excellent with a view of central park, beautiful classic finishes and even a chandelier. Although the hotel is pricey, it is well worth it if you can swing it. I have never experienced such magnificent service at a hotel before, and I definitely intend on staying here again when I visit NYC.
Quintessential NYC - great furnishings and location in Midtown. Mohammed was accommodating and charming during our lunches. Kris, our butler, was equally pleasant.Ive enjoyed staying at St Regis properties previously but was overall disappointed by this one specifically. The concierge recommended a café to us that had gone out of business which caused us to burn a good part of one of our mornings. On another occasion, a different concierge seemed very bothered by us asking for a lunch recommendation while on hold with someone over the phone. We all have bad days and I have empathy for employees who work in high-end hospitality, but it was an unusual reaction. My wife tried to take a bath and the tub filled with a dark-orange colored water. The front desk told us this was common and to just let the faucet run for 20 minutes and try again later. Im unable to include a picture here but, as you can imagine, it was very unsettling. As a very minor gripe, no mention was made of the special occasion that was noted during booking and again over the phone, a couple days before checking in. Historic hotel and great vibe but we will be considering other 5 star options when returning to NYC this fall.
We had an excellent 5 night stay at the St Regis this December. We were in town with another couple to enjoy the city for the holidays and to do some shopping, sightseeing, and dining. The staff was super accommodating and we really loved Jessie at Astor Court -- she made our stay even more enjoyable by getting to know us each morning at breakfast -- and she quickly figured out we all loved chocolate :) Kevin also told us about oysters, caroling, and champagne in the lobby for the holidays, which was a cute treat that we checked out before our dinner reservations. We highly recommend staying at the St Regis and will definitely be back!
Not worth the money - barely worth the points if booking a reward stay. The hard product is great and beautiful, the service however disappointing in a lot of aspects.I was hoping all the rather critical reviews were outliers and we would have a better experience; unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Pros were the doormen and bellboys. They were great and very welcoming, always smiling. Also, we did receive an upgrade to a larger room upon request due to hotel status, which we very much appreciated. Now any one of these following shortcomings by themselves I could’ve overlooked, even at this price point. All of these together, however soured the stay and gave the over all impression of a management team that simply doesn’t care enough and front desk staff that either isn’t trained or selected well enough. This leads me to not recommending this hotel to friends - or anyone for that matter.1. The lady checking us in wasn’t welcoming or informative at all. There is no information about the hotel’s amenities in the room whatsoever, so at least a minimal amount of info would’ve been nice. Nothing about the butler service or the house car, which I imagine are things most guests would welcome some information on.2. No acknowledgement whatsoever of the 30th birthday we were celebrating, that I had let them know about ahead of arriving. Now this obviously didn’t entitle me to any special treatment or anything, but at least a “happy birthday” at check in would’ve given it the kind of touch you’d expect at a place like this.3. The “House Bentley” that is advertised prominently in nearly every picture of the hotel’s exterior is not there anymore. It’s not “in the shop” or anything, they simply don’t use it anymore and haven’t been since the hotel closed down for Covid. They operate an Escalade now, which is nice, but obviously miles below a Bentley. Again, a small thing by itself, but noticeable.4. After settling into the room a staff member just randomly burst into the room with their own key - no knocking or anything. After realizing the room was occupied, they slammed the door shut without any apologies. After looking out into the hallway to check what had happened, I was just shouted at across the hall to ask if I needed turn down service.5. I requested an extra pillow over the app, this request went unanswered for about three hours, until I asked our butler directly (she was nice and quick).6. To make up for a house keeping issue, the hotel had given us $100 in hotel credit, which we very much appreciated and thought was a very nice gesture. Upon check out however, I noticed that this credit hadn’t been considered on the final bill. When I brought this up, the lady at the front desk’s first reaction was to tell me there was no way we had ever received this credit since we “booked the stay on points”, which felt like she was practically telling me I was lying to her. She then proceeded to try and tell me that this “credit” we had received was for free enhanced wifi (a feature that is complementary for gold members and above at all Marriott properties, as I’m sure she is aware of). Only after recalling and mentioning the staff member’s name who had extended this credit to us did she agree to put it on the bill. This made it feel like I was haggling about the final bill and ended the stay on a bad note.Again, most of these are small things by themselves and there are lots of good things about the hard product, but overall this painted the same picture that I had gotten from reading the reviews beforehand: That of a hotel failing to fill the large footsteps left by its heritage - mostly due to unskilled service staff, especially at the front desk. Now I know the hotel likely will reply by saying they take these concerns seriously. Judging by the reviews though, they don’t really, since it seems like these issues have existed for a couple of years now.I hope this extensive review helps both the hotel and anyone deciding on where to spend $1000+ per night in NYC.
I stayed here 9 years ago and it was probably the best experience I ever had. I had told my partner about it for over a year and we finally made the trip to come here together. He had never been. We are currently here and cant wait to check out. Upon arrival, they took our card and IDs as normal. The next day, I forgot my room key and the front desk told me my name wasnt on the reservation but they remembered me and would give me a room key this time. Extremely awkward and I had already given them my ID upon check in.My partner tried to surprise me for our wedding with chocolate covered strawberries. They left them in our room with no note, on a plain white plate. Super unimpressive. On our second to last night we received a note under the door at 4am that they had billing issues. We called in the morning. Apparently they tried to run our card for a second time after we had already been there for two nights (already put a deposit down upon arrival) and there was an issue? Why not just settle the issue upon check out on the NEXT DAY or contact us at a more appropriate hour? When I contacted them on the phone the front desk and manager both argued with me and said it was my fault because I ordered room service? Well, obviously...thats what everyone does at a hotel. Whats the point of charging to the room? They apparently wanted to run an extra $112 on the card from when we checked in...okay.Last thing Ill say- they dont offer as many ammenities. You used to get fruit daily with coffee. Now its just coffee and if you as for more than one french press in a day they will complain about it. The butler service is super slow. You might as well call the front desk. If you use points they will try to stick you in a corner room. They did that to us and then made a comment on how we were using points for our stay. Well, where do you think the points came from?Dont stay here. We had a much better time at the Four Seasons.
If I could give this place zero stars I would, we stayed for a total of 3 hours. It was our honeymoon, they gave us a terrible room with no upgrade although when booking with American Express Centurion Concierge you should get one and especially because it was our honeymoon they should have made a better effort. The view from the room was into an office block and a building site, there was no welcome note in the room which is a standard practice at any hotel on your honeymoon let alone fruits or champagne, the butler service is a gimmick, we werent shown to our room, the butler came in for 2 minutes and offered us complimentary tea/coffee, when I asked for a cappuccino he said the only complimentary drink is pressed coffee. The manager Omar was terribly rude to my husband when he complained about the service or lack there of stating maybe this hotel isnt the one for you and threatening to cancel our stay and kick us out on the street on our honeymoon even though he had no right. In the end we moved to the four seasons where they know how to treat guests properly and to a much higher standard. Also St Regis have no spa which is very poor for a 5 star hotel. American Express were even shocked of this situation and couldnt have been more helpful in finding us another hotel.
If you don’t mind getting charged without understanding what you are paying for, this wouldn’t be a bad place to stay.A whole bunch of charges that they couldn’t explain at the end of our five night stay. We had to ask our ambassador to get in touch with St.Regis NYC to take them off.Overall, the service was bad unless you threaten to complain instantly. We were at the concierge asking to pick up our package. They casually told us they will bring it up for us shortly, but without letting us know that’s a $20 service, of course without knowing we tipped very generously. The waiters at Astor Court for breakfast area took their sweet time(8mins) to receive us while we wait there watching them being not busy. There was only one table seated. Again, casually asked us if they could pour us some orange juice before we even sat down, be aware that this is very mediocre fresh orange juice you can get, comes in a glass not much bigger than shot glasses, $15 each. Strongly recommend the room service for breakfast. The room service staff were very professional and excellent service.Overall, our room was beautiful and cleaned very well. I fully enjoyed the room. The Bentley ride was fun and comfortable. The champagne sabrage was a wonderful idea but I wish they put as much effort as the St. Regis Washington.D.C, I.e. using a real sabor knife instead of a butter knife. For the price, we had more satisfying experiences elsewhere.
I couldn’t have been more excited to stay here , but I quickly found out this hotel was not for me.Pros- Hotel accommodated early check in. This was a very nice gesture, but doesn’t make up for the other issues !-Beds extremely comfortable! That’s all I can find !!- Room service breakfast benefit in and itself was 5 stars and the only reason why I gave 3 stars and not 1 or 2.Cons- Room design was not comfortable. I am guessing this is due to my early check (I got the room they maybe don’t assign ) so beggars can’t be choosers but in my mind every room at the St Regis NY should be perfectly comfortable and up to date.- Bathroom shower had no door, water all over the floor after you shower. Possibly just my room’s design.- Furniture was beat up, badly. A shame for a $1200 per night or 100,000 point per night hotel- Butler service - to me this was too much. I’d rather just make coffee on my own. I got in after dinner and wanted to make some tea in my room and there are no coffee /tea makers since the Butler will bring you coffee in the morning. Options were spend $25 on a cup of Chamomile Tea through room service or have a coffee maker sent to your room for the insulting fee of $250. Sometimes when prices get out of hand , treat turns into perceived poor service.-$50 amenity fee. This insulting fee just forces you to spend $50 on food in the hotel. For a classy 5 star hotel this is an absolutely awful idea and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The burger was good but I could make 1000 better meals in NY for $50. I had a Diet Coke and it came to $9. The server refilled it and I saw 2-9$ charges on my bill. 2 diet cokes =$18!!! OK!! That’s insanity. I said something to the server about the charge for the refill and I kid you not his response : This is the St Regis, not McDonalds. That right there put me in an awful mood. He did take take refill charge off. The point is , if you’re going to make a nice gesture .. do so with a smile on your face .I am easy to please but I felt like a pain here at this hotel just asking for the basics. I don’t see how it’s highly rated. For the millionaires there so many other options. For the people who have to budget their money.. you’ll feel way out of place here.
Had the displeasure of dealing with the Concierge desk this week. I was horrified with the will of not being helpful at allI was shocked, I was mesmerized with this guy standing in front of me refusing the help me. A family member had a parcel delivered after her departure. She contacted the hotel that I was going to pick it up - something I did before. Its a painless thing to do - until I met this guy yesterday. Sad experience. Cant wait for the next time I have to deal with him.
Worst hotel ever!! They don’t have a menu in the hotel because the code from the tv does not accurately describe the menu, it’s 23 long pages!! I called to ask where the restaurant was they said on level 2. But, the elevator never takes you to level 2! I went to LL thinking that was the entrance, but it was G. So, I asked for the restaurant at the concierge , they showed me.I ordered food to be delivered to my room 1511. They brought a cold food. I called TWICE the restaurant to have someone pick it up and make a new one for me that is actually hot from the pan! I waited for 35 mins, nobody came (the butler never came). I had to go downstairs to let them know how unfair there service was and I demanded that they make new one for me right away! They never apologized for their behaviors! I wish I could give a zero stars!! I will never come here again and I don’t recommend this place.
We had the best experience at this hotel. We had reached out before arriving to the concierge service and they were so helpful with our plans for a spectacular mini honeymoon. We were given an upgrade to our room and treated so well. The concierge service was outstanding they booked our dinner reservations when we were not able to. The whole experience was A+ and will leave us with wonderful lasting memories. Thank you.
The St. Regis team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and appreciated for choosing to stay. They made everything pleasant and easy. Room service was on time, hot, and set up perfectly with easy conversation with John. The concierge made dinner reservations hassle-free and the staff at the restaurant greeted me as if prepped well by the St. Regis team. While this team does the grand gestures well, it truly is the smaller details that make the difference. Everyone used my name when addressing me and faced me with a smile when in close proximity. I am looking forward to my next visit.
I recently stayed at this location with my husband and 4 young children. We had an amazing time, the staff was attentive and accommodating. My kids loved the hot coco with marshmallows and the bubble bath. We stayed in a suite and it was well worth it, the kids got a kick out of the butler service and in room dining. I loved the professionalism of the staff especially with the children. They made our visit a dream!
Its a well-maintained historical property at the great location. Staff members were all courteous and efficient, and rooms were well appointed. Considering their fame, however, I was expecting something magical and/or spectacular which I often find in the highest class hotels around the world but it wasnt there. What was spectacular was high prices for everything. In addition, we were insulted by one of their rude customers at the bar. It was our 40th anniversary celebration. I wish it were a better experience.
This is one of 3 locations of the Hotel St. Regis we have stayed in. Normally we love the hotel because the rooms, amenities and staff are normally great. The staff we encountered while in NY was was phenomenal (and I wish they still gave those cards to people with hotel status to reward staff like that beyond just tips) but who we encountered personally and how things turned out generally were very different.Despite status and letting them know we were staying there for our sons 3rd birthday the experience really fell flat. Perhaps it was because we used points that they decided to put us in a back corner of the 7th floor in a suite that had certainly not been renovated. But the room was poorly kept and clearly dated (see photos fingerprints on mirrors, dirty walls, damaged furniture and there was no body wash until I found housekeeping in the hall). I also found myself needing to email the concierge 3 times in order to get information on vegan dining options. I get it, not everyone is vegan, but I asked both about the room service and local restaurants and the first response I received was a canned answer in the form of a pdf of local st. regis favs (including steak houses). When I followed up to clarify (vegan, please help, is there more info on room service) I was sent the pdf of the room service menu. The response failed to mention there was no room service being served outside of breakfast at that time,we found out only when we arrived adding to the uselessness of the response. I sent ANOTHER email essentially calling out, you are the Concierge of the Hotel St. Regis in Manhattan and I KNOW you can be more helpful than this. Only then did I get any insights which were limited, and late.
At Pre-arrival time, Freddie V from reservations and Krista S from Concierge helped us make excellent arrangements that made our stay very exceptional. They took excellent care of us on stay preference, occasions celebration, dining reservations, and more minor details like balloon requests (we are very impressed on how St. Regis New York cares about their guests experience). At check-in, Trang from the front desk gave us a warm welcome to St. Regis and explained the hotels history/offerings to us. She offered us a very spacious room. Butler Lynn Li (10th floor) introduced the amenities a few minutes after we got into the room and gave us excellent welcome fruit plates and Champagne. She took the extra mile to deliver a lovely turndown service with music. The next day Christina from the front desk works hard to confirm a deluxe suite upgrade, which is impressive. Second room butler Dolores (6th floor) is also very friendly and attentive. She helped us with every request (suite has full butler service), like laundry, coffee/tea service, amenities requests, and packing. Its hard to describe how outstanding a full butler service takes us, and we feel Dolores tries hard to make our stay better by addressing every detail. Dolores inspired us with her spirit and pride as a member representing St. Regis, and she is a star in hospitality. The rooms and suites are gorgeous, but their service and design are legendary. After trying two different rooms, I feel that everyone in the hotel represents their highest brand standard. We look forward to coming back soon.
I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with the service I received during my visit. My wife and I planned a trip to see Hamilton and booked a room at the St Regis. This was our first time away from our 3 1/2 year old and 3 month old daughter. My wife is still breastfeeding our child and thus, needs to pump. After making the reservation, I called to speak with the front desk, letting them know we would be arriving in NYC prior to our show. I requested that we have access to a room for my wife to pump and over the phone I was informed that would be no problem. The day of the trip, when we tried to get access to a room at 1PM for her to pump, the employee at the front desk said he could not accommodate anything and sent us into the shared, public locker room as the only option. I have photos of my wife sitting on a small, hard wooden bench with rows of lockers behind her. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel of the St. Regis caliber. Ive seen better customer service at a $100 per night hotel. While your rooms are spectacular, clean and well-appointed, your customer service is at the bottom of the barrel. I find this level of service, and lack of respect for womens needs, to be completely disgusting. My wife was embarrassed, and could not believe that we did not have access to a room for privacy. It was 1 PM...not 8 in the morning. Hamilton was fantastic but this experience significantly tarnished our trip.
As a frequent traveler, most hotels start to become the same over time. But this stay was truly special. From the minute we walked in, we knew we were destined for luxury. The best perk I’ve ever seen through my travel was the butler service here - it’s truly second to none in terms of service.
This hotel building is a landmark and has the architectural credentials to prove it. Service was good, though maid service forgot us one day and had to be called. Our marble bathroom was very large and had the best shower I have ever had (no kidding). It is expensive, however, so be ready to drop some serious dollars......both for the room and the hotel bar. Because of COVID, the restaurant was not open which was a serious inconvenience for us because of the serious rainstorm after the storm IDA. We did eat in the hotel bar......food was good but high prices for food and drink.
First of all, let me point out that my wife and I stayed here on points. There is no way possible we could afford to stay here based on the going rate for this excellent 5 Star Hotel. But wow…. How I would dream to stay here over and over again if price were no object! This place is fancy on steroids but never crosses the threshold of pretentious which is outstanding! Customer service is paramount. Everyone from belle hop, concierge, butler, room service, is incredibly friendly and helpful. The ambience of gold and traditional fabrics adorns every nook and cranny of the hotel with extreme elegance. There are TVs in the bathroom mirror. Room service visits multiple times a day and leaves the radio on for you. Literally the whole nine! One of my favorite parts about our two night stay was the morning coffee by the elevators! It comes with its own branded sleeve and the cream and coffee quality is out of this world! Was definitely a nice touch to start our day with this liquid gold. My only criticisms is I could do with less mirrors in the rooms and the honor bar prices for drinks (a Pepsi soda costs $9 for example) are excessive and prohibitive but what can you truly expect from a hotel where rooms go for around $1K a night. Otherwise…. Wow, highly recommend St. Regis to anyone and everyone who can swing it!
Stayed at the St Regis when returning for the first time post covid. The staff was warm and welcoming and the same Old World Grandeur was ever present. We enjoyed Butler Service upon arrival and had the most wonderful elegant breakfast at Astor Court. The Iconic Bloody Mary at the King Cole Bar is a great way to celebrate your visit to the City. If you enjoy getting dressed and being treated like a celebrity, then the St. Regis is the place! Romantic for couples
Whether it’s business or leisure, you will not find a NYC hotel that offers more amenities or friendly hospitality than the St. Regis. The butler service provides an extra degree of luxury and peace of mind that few hotels offer. The location in Midtown is steps away from unmatched shopping and a casual stroll through the south end of Central Park.
My wife had booked us at a new hotel that she was meeting with for an upcoming event. Once we checked in we realized the new hotel was just bit too minimalist and the service was not what we were accustomed to. We quickly pivoted and booked the rest of the trip with the St. Regis. After 18 months of COVID uncertainty and changes the hotel and staff did not miss a beat. As always the hotel was beautiful and service beyond words amazing. We learned our lesson and will not stray again from the property.
When small issues became bigger, for lack of service or attention, I had to wonder, what happened at our favorite NYC hotel, Please understand that the issue of not having any shampoo one day causing me to exit shower, call for some, call again, and wait over 12/ an hour is not that big of a deal. But then the next day, after the room was made up to have to again hop out of the shower, and call for conditioner and again wait for 25 min, was a bit crazy, and disappointing being at any hotel, especially one of the finest! When you check in and you’re given notice that you have “butler service” it adds to the ridiculous nature of not getting the most essential items, even after repeatedly asking.
This is the ORIGINAL St Regis, and despite the building being an antique, the rooms were lovely and everything worked very well. The TV / size and the fact that they dont use the in ceiling speakers anymore was a bit disappointing, but I dont go to NYC to watch TV. The staff were fantastic, Pavel our butler was spot-on, we really enjoyed our week in the city and Id recommend to anyone. Location is excellent for walking to galleries, MOMA, central park etc. Biking is my favourite way to get around Manhattan. Obviously the room service prices are silly - but what do you expect at the St Regis in NYC?
Overall stay was very comfortable indeed however, the experience that I had on the first day of arrival was surely not what I expected especially this class of hotel. We drove all the way from Boston to meet the time for the check-in at 4 pm. But there was no room prepared at the moment so we had to wait without knowing when the room will be ready. After 40 minutes later, we got the call while waiting at the lobby that our room is ready. We were provided one class upgraded room so I thought I will just accept the situation. However, it was the same class room that we booked and they were even sure about the room class that I booked. So I had to ask for the upgrade that they guaranteed me but what I heard from the front that there are no higher room available so they will let me know when it is available. Eventually, Ive never got a single call back at least they have tried to search for the room but they couldnt find one.Maybe I was expecting too much but it was sure a unique experience that Ive never had in any other hotel branches around the world.
This was our first trip back to NYC since January 2019. The accomodations at the St. Regis were beyond amazing. From the overall extreme cleanliness of the rooms, to the impecable attention to detail and service, this was by far a highlight of 2021. The team at the St. Regis is real. They go above and beyond. Erik at the front desk was remarkable. The suite came with Butler service. Lily was incredible. So kind and helpful. John brought our breakfast and was extremely personable. You wont meet a nicer guy than Pascal who works valet. Looking forward to our next stay. Thanks again to the team at the St. Regis!
Quick one night stay for 100,000 points but it was totally worth it! I came in to celebrate my aunts 60th birthday and arranged with the concierge to get balloons for the room (I paid for them, he ordered and took care of everything). I used an SNA to upgrade to a grand luxe room (all that was available) and it was approved immediately. Upon checking in, we were told we received a 6 level room upgrade to a suite which was magical. The room was shaped like a U and definitely bigger than most NYC apartments! It had a living room, 2 bathrooms, closet, and bedroom. The drapes are all controlled via a button and are completely dark. Besides getting 1 shirt pressed, we did not utilize the Butler. When we came back from dinner, chocolate covered strawberries were left in the room with a very nice but very generic note. We spent the rest of the evening at the hotel bar which had at least a 10 person wait at one point. For the breakfast amenity you are allowed to order room service which we did! Extremely generous portions for breakfast. It was every bit the luxury stay I was looking for.
We stayed at the St. Regis during a beautiful September weekend in NYC for a family weekend. From the time we stepped out of the car at the valet stand, everyone at the St. Regis provided such a warm and happy welcome, and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant, easy, and luxurious as possible. This was our second stay at the St. Regis and it was again fabulous. To date, no other hotel holds a candle to them in my mind.
My new favorite property in New York (previously used to like The Pierre and Carlyle best). Rooms are gorgeous. No suite upgrade available for platinum but the room was amazing anyway. Breakfast is still served only in the room but it was delicious and very well presented. King Cole bar unfortunately still closed. Staff is very well trained and make you feel welcomed and cared for. Overall this hotel is exceptional!
This hotel is fantastic! The staff is very friendly and always willing to assist in any way they can. Very close walk to Central Park and many other NYC attractions. The Butler service they offer is incredible, I was slightly hesitant at first, but found it to be very helpful in navigating our needs during our stay and the coffee and tea in the morning was great. Highly recommend!
I came back from St. Regis Bali. Totally different vibes. The service is generally a little less(less ppl & less treatments) for hotels inside US. Technically do not wish for high service availability and top-tier service attitude in US, that’s not what u would get normally.Peninsula the same,(across the street, can’t compare to Penn HK. )Not best locationRooms facing backwards have terrible view even on higher floors.Butler changes frequently.Others r same.Okish, I feel really old stayin this one. Maybe in another 20yrs.
The service at the St. Regis is second to none. All staff that we came in contact with personified that. Jimmy at the front door was excellent and welcoming. He also helped us up their stairs with a stroller without prompting. The hotel itself is beautiful as was the room. There was a flickering light in the bathroom. This was remedied with 15 minutes of calling to let engineering know. John from room service was a delight when delivering our breakfast room service. From beginning to end we enjoyed our stay and were pleased with everything. This is a 5 star hotel for good reason.
We were here for our 20th wedding anniversary hoping for (and, I suppose, expecting) the St. Regis experience. Although the New York timelessness was there, the restaurant and Cole bar were closed. Understandable due to the hotels recent reopening, but the rooms price tag should have reflected this. Its like visiting the Empire State building and them telling you you cant take the elevator past the eighth floor! I would imagine you could do as well elsewhere for half the price. Room was lovely and the staff was nice.
The St. Regis is truly a hidden gem in the madness of Midtown. We stayed there with our daughter and we’re able to enjoy Central Park, shopping dining and the city itself. The staff are truly phenomenal. The city was just opening up, but they hadn’t missed a beat. We truly hope to return soon.
Our favorite place to be in all of New York. Feel like royalty as the amazing staff of the St Regis treat you to an exquisite experience. From the wonderful rooms, to the great drinks at the King Cole, to breakfast in your room every morning, to just the splendor and the glamour of the St Regis, its a wonderful experience!
Shared itinerary prior to arrival that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. Receipt of the itinerary was acknowledged, but no attention paid to the details (like wife checking in early), and we were put into a room that had a sticky spot on the carpet + clearly used towels. Tried switching rooms, but they were sold out.
A perfect experience from the moment we stepped out of the town car. Every single interaction with staff was top notch. Suite 1911 is a very nice with spacious rooms, great bathrooms and had a nice view for the location. We thoroughly enjoyed the King Cole bar and also had a great experience in the salon. Honestly I cant think of a better stay in any other hotel. Our Butler was just wonderful and was always there at the right time when we needed her!
Horrible. Bad check-in experience, with no information about the hotel, nothing. I was handed a room and told to have a nice day. I had to ask “Where is my room?”. That bad. I get to room, A/C is not working, it was blazing hot. I had to call for a tech to come - they said he’d be up shortly. I called after 20 minutes, still no one. He eventually comes, and tells me since no one has stayed in the room in a year, the valve shut. (Do they not inspect the rooms before a guest goes in to make sure A/C is working in 95 degree NYC?). I hav pictures of this, he has to open the wall up to fix this, and I couldn’t get ready for dinner since he was there (not his fault, but the hotel’s fault). Then, my Wi-Fi didn’t work and I had to get something important done on my computer upon checking in…I called the front desk to tell them, and I am told “oh yea, that happens sometimes, let us reset and wait 20+ min”. Umm..ok? I need internet. So I don’t have that. Then me and my girlfriend decide to take a nap…we were naked…..and someone from the hotel just open and walked into my room and probably saw us naked, I had to scream fo them to get out. I called to complain about this, and was ‘transferred to a manager’ and put on hold…no one ever picked up. I complained next day, and this opened a formal investigation by the hotel, which meant no fewer than 5 calls to my room with questions and interruptions, and a ‘planned break-in’ of sorts for security to investigate. Perhaps that’s normal SOP for security, but as a guest, it was a lot of interruptions. On day 3, I get home after a long day, no room service was done. Disaster. I called to complain, and they tell me I have to ASK for it. Um…no. No one told me upon check-in that due to COVID i had to ask for it. Not to mention, I didn’t ask for it on day 2 and it was done…so clearly, they were lying. So ok…I said “please have someone come clean my room now, i’m leaving for the night, and it’s covered in trash from food”, and they said they would take care of it. I get home later…NOTHING was cleaned. Someone made the bed. What’s worse? I open my room at 11:30PM and some random staff member from teh hotel was IN MY ROOM…at almost midnight! I said “What are you doing in here” he said he was “dropping off the extra sheets and slippers I asked for”. I said i never asked for that and I don’t know why he is in my room. He looked visibly panicked and left. Again, filthy room, no room service, and a creepy/surprise midnight ‘intruder’.
At every turn during our stay, from check-in to check out, from interior decorative style, from bedroom to bar, there was true excellence. Most people may not experience this type of luxury and care in their lifetime, which is shame. Because no matter your income, demographic, ethnicity, the treatment was the same, leaving one to feel extra special. We could find no significant problems. It appeared that great thought was placed to anticipate the needs of its clients; there was great attention to detail.Of course, then there is the cost. The place is expensive, but one does get what he pays for, at least in my opinion and the experience is one you will want to repeat. Its definitely worth saving for although perhaps youll want to wait for a sale or use points. We are very happy that Marriott has added this gem to its portfolio which allows more to enjoy this level of service. The same can be said for the Ritz Carlton, but I enjoyed to ambience better in this hotel. It just seemed less stuffy. Even though we can afford stuffy, its just not our style. To sum it up, you will not have a more luxury and elegant experience, yet fun, natural and unpretentious than at this hotel. Get your best deal you can, but come and enjoy.
We were privileged enough to come stay at the St. Regis for our 5th anniversary. The staff was warm, welcoming, and made us feel special. The high tea is great and we will be back for that. The room was exquisite and eventually we shall return for another stay. High marks for the personal touches that the staff did to make this occasion even more special. Amazing from start to finish - with the doormen going out of their way to get us a cab to our next destination - as a New Yorker myself, and having stayed in hotels around the city, the entire staff truly went beyond what any New Yorker would expect. Whether for a day or a week - if you can, stay here.
I recently stayed at the St. Regis as part of my sons 18th birthday celebration + college move-in to nearby Marymount Manhattan College. The entire guest experience was special, which made this special time in our lives all the more so. We were well taken care of from the time we checked in until we checked out. The food was delicious as well, and we totally took advantage of our included breakfast with an in-room dining experience that exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spacious and uber comfortable, and the shower... amazing. Add to that a location that checked every box, and it very well may be my favorite hotel in NYC.
I needed a couple of days to breakaway and relax, so I figured that the St. Regis would be the best option to have a tranquil two days away from home. Being that this is the flagship St Regis property, my expectations were high. I checked into a beautiful deluxe room, where a butler was waiting to give me the tour and to ensure that I had everything that I needed. She was very nice and it felt very exclusive. The next day, I was informed that I was upgraded to a suite, which was actually directly next door. The butler ensured that everything was taken care of and I had everything I needed. The rooms are absolutely exquisite and very well appointed. I always had fresh fruits, chocolates, and french pressed coffee. The Laboratoire Reméde (especially the cleansing soufflé and body contour) are probably some of the best products Ive used. The Astor Court is a nice space and the food is OK (4/5). The King Cole Bar is probably one of my favorite spots in New York. The iconic Maxfield Parish over the bar really pulls it all together and the drinks are always great! The patrons at the bar are always friendly and social. One of the standout experiences was the check-out process. As I made my way to the lobby, the tab on the back of my tie failed. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she promptly asked for the tie so that she could find a solution. She said that she would have it back to me in 20 minutes, so I asked for stationary and envelops so that I could write a few letters to family and friends. I made my way to the King Cole Bar to enjoy the legendary Bloody Mary (originally created at this property) while I write and wait for my tie. She returned 20 minutes later and informed me that the seamstress (they actually have one on staff) had already left for the day, but she managed to sew it herself (wow!!). I wish that I wouldve gotten her name to send a separate email to thank her. As soon as I finished my Bloody Mary, I stopped by the concierge who was happy to mail the letters for me. We had a very nice chat and then they sent my off in the house Bentley Mulsanne. They have a 10 block limit, so the driver took me to 44th and 5th Ave. I felt like a celebrity! Overall, the St Regis New York really exceeded my expectations. I typically stay at Category 5, 6, and 7 properties. This is my second time at a Category 8 and I must say that its a very different experience. I left feeling relaxed, recharged, and special.
We decided to stay in a different location in the city for our annual holiday trip to see the Christmas lights and windows. Normally we would stay at the London Edition, but since the St. Regis was going to be upgraded to a Category 8 hotel in 2019 we decided to take advantage of the points savings and stay for five nights. From the moment we checked in (it was pouring rain and the bellman were a huge help getting our car unloaded) we felt pampered and special. We were upgraded to a larger room that felt like a suite with high ceilings and a big bathroom. Both a luxury for NYC. Rooms are very quiet and you rarely see other guests or staff other than in the lobby. We had breakfast either in Astor Court or in our room and enjoyed both immensely. As a Platinum rewards level member we were offered either points or breakfast - I strongly suggest breakfast as it is delicious with lots of choices! We also had tea in Astor Court, drinks in the King Cole bar and tried the hair salon downstairs. This hotel is in a perfect location for enjoying the holiday decorations, easily accessible to a subway station (2 blocks) that you can get quickly downtown on, plus walking distance to Madison Avenue shopping and Central Park. To top it all off your daily $50 hotel fee includes passes to the MOMA or Metropolitan Museum of Art plus other perks and credits. Overall a wonderful hotel experience, Five Star!, and we will look forward to staying in other St. Regis properties. We probably never would have tried the St Regis had it not been for the merger with Marriott. The staff should be commended for giving great service and being very helpful - particularly the concierge team and Astor Court service team.
A beautiful Hotel in a great part of New York. The front office staff are extremely friendly and always willing to help, rooms are modern in decor and extremely comfortable. Unfortunately the servers during our stay that we experienced seemed unhappy to be there, this was across both the bar and restaurants. Olivia and Michelle in the other hand we’re both fantastic, full of personality and made our time I’m both restaurant and the bar memorable. The Sabre experience can’t be missed! Overall a great stay.!
Our trip to New York was a combination of a family weekend activities and babysitting with a few extra days added on for a total of a 7 day visit. We used all of our SPG points and treated ourselves to the St. Regis. It was totally worth it. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed all of the luxury, the butlers, the wonderful service, and the beautiful rooms and amenities. When we werent at family events we primarily ate at the the King Cole Bar and the Aster Court. The food was excellent and plentiful. We really didnt see the need to eat anywhere else. The servers were friendly and helpful. Although we have stayed in many luxury hotels before, it is not our normal life style. We felt welcome and comfortable and not intimidated. The location cant be beat, it is convenient to everything. The destination fee includes food credits, cleaning and laundry services, and daily museum tickets. We took advantage of everything. We werent extravagant, but we didnt worry too much about what we spent, and our final bill was equivalent to about one days room rate. Our only disappointment was that the Bentley was never available when we were. We will definitely stay at the St. Regis on our next trip to New York.
The hotel is not ready for business. It’s understaffed, housekeeping is poor, the room and hallways are empty like the hotel in the Shining. No service at all and the rates are outrageous. We complained and never heard from the manager again. As it was it took several request and several hours before we finally hear from the only manager on staff - the concierge manager. We’ve stayed here before but we will never stay here again.
Very elegant rooms w/ sitting area, comfy beds and giant bathrooms. Fancy, old-world decor. Complimentary butler service with coffee/tea delivered. Nice gym. Good location in the center of things and close to subway. Great value if you use Marriott points (60K per night) rather than cash -- otherwise room rates are often as high as $1000 a night, cost prohibitive for most.
The stay was luxurious from beginning to end. The check in was smooth, Orville at the front desk helped us feel comfortable and anticipated any and all of our needs. The butler service was impeccable and our suite was gorgeous. A complimentary bottle of wine was sent up in honor of my birthday, which was very kind. Overall, a fantastic experience.
Fantastic and historic hotel in one of the most iconic areas of NYC. Away from the chaos of Times Square, yet and easy 10 min ride to all the action. Excellent staff and property. I am Titanium Elite and did not get a suite upgrade, but it was over the holidays and understandable, especially for a late booking just 2 weeks before arrival Jan 30. Did get a 2-category upg to Grand Luxe and it was absolutely beautiful. Staff and mgmt were very active in making sure our stay was enjoyable. Wonderful old hotel, maintained very well, and a pleasure overall. Per NYC it IS a very expensive property for F&B so be prepared. $25-$35 and up for a glass of wine at the King Cole Bar. Room Service - Grilled Salmon Salad was $70+service/grat. Thats NYC in general, and not a St. Regis anomaly- just putting in in here for others to know in advance.
The St. Regis is a wonderful property in a great location in one of my favorite cities. The hotel is worthy of its extraordinary legend. The service is exceptional, the rooms are lovely and the food is delicious. The beds are very comfortable, the linens are luxurious and the bathroom amenities are a treat. The dining experience is another treat. You are greeted warmly, seated in a beautiful room and served delicious food by a lovely team. It is always a treat to visit the St. Regis.
Disappointing check-in experience with a poor attitude of the Front Office Manager and a poorly trained Receptionist - the whole experience was cold and inviting. After having to express my concerns in front of an audience of guests, which was terribly uncomfortable for me, the number of apologies from staff were overwhelming, All the apologies were simply not necessary if there was a warmer more welcoming and caring welcome at reception.I was ready to walk out! I stay at St Regis properties around the world and spend 80% of life travelling and the service at St Regis was by far the worst. I will never return to this hotel.Butler service was average at best, seemed uninterested to provide service.Food and beverage was terribly overpriced, Service at Breakfast was extremely slow - took 20mins to get a coffee. breakfast food was ok, not the high quality I would have expected. My final bill was overcharged and reward points were not recorded.Every department of the is hotel has issues - except the Porters! The overbooking of the reservations team somehow become my problem, I dont check-in to a Hotel to have to experience the Hotels poor reservation practices.Assistant Manager forced to clean up the issues.
A+ stay. All the glitter is gold. The St. Regis NYC is a special, historical gem to be treasured. 5-star luxury accommodations and service, prime location for strolls in Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping, and fine dining. Pratima Kandel, Operations Manager, was a standout host and wonderful ambassador for the brand. One of the most memorable trips together as a couple.
Exceptional room condition and cleanness. Knowledgeable and helpful butlers. Fast responses to my app messages and very easy to use all the generous benefits under the destination fee. I arrived at the hotel around 2 p.m. and my room was not ready so I went to lunch leaving my bags in the lobby. Got a call around 4 telling me my room was ready. I am aware that early check-in is not guaranteed so no complaint there. As a platinum member, I was offered breakfast for two which I enjoyed at the Astor court. The server knew how much breakfast credit is allowed for platinum members but using the credit is kinds of complicated since there is also $50 amount of food credit under the destination fee. A more detailed explanation would be helpful regarding whether I can combine these two types of credits or which credit I can use to cover tips, if allowed. One last thing, I asked if I can pay the final bill with my Marriott gift card when checking out but I was not able to do so. Ms. Trang, who helped me during the checking out was kind and proactive but after she talked to his manager, she apologized that the hotel could not accept my gift card. A couple months ago, the Marriott group announced that its gift card is accepted all across its brands. St. Regis cannot be outside of the groups policy. So a little bit of disappointment at the very end of my stay.
Exquisite, ornate and exceptionally beautiful hotel. I had dinner with a friend at the Astor Court back in January 2020, and felt amazingly welcomed and happy. As if I had known the place for a very long time, I felt very cozy and comfortable. Oh my mouth just watered for coffee, should I just hop on the plane from the west coast and have coffee at the St. Regis? I will think about it. Dinner was sumptuous, delicate, refined and thus I shall return to the St. Regis in the future for another wonderful evening. Thank you awesome staff!
5 stars is certainly not enough! I cannot say enough about this hotel and it’s staff. The best hotel stay ever, I never wanted to leave, especially after 4 days of complete luxury and relaxation. Every guest is treated like royalty even if they are the most ordinary person in the world. I felt like a princess in a palace. Not once did I or my husband ever feel out of place in this extraordinary upscale beautiful hotel, with an equally magnificent staff. Every staff member always has a smile and they’re always happy to take time from their very busy duties to chat. The rooms are beyond beautiful, the hotel is kept immaculately clean, every little issue is addressed promptly, and no request is ignored. The bedding is to die for (My daughter loved the bedding so much from a one night stay 1 1/2 years ago, I bought a whole set for her and her husband, and they comment every day how much they still love their St Regis bedding). Every staff member was special but I must add special thanks to staff members who went above and beyond to make our 40th anniversary better than any honeymoon. Warmest thanks to Octavia (a billion thank you‘s to a special & caring person !!), Sarah, Susan, Christine, Frances, our wonderful Butler Kasuma (thanks for the jasmine!!). Jade and Sofija (who kept our room spotless and showed they cared with very special touches). John and especially Guru, my newest ‘family’ member, who showed us so much love, made our room service breakfast beyond special every morning, and put a smile on our faces just with his presence :-). Those are just the staff members I mentioned, there are so many other names not written here who also make this the most unique hotel you could ever wish to stay at. Thank you to the entire staff of the New York St Regis. An amazing experience from the first moment to the last. We love you.
Beautiful hotel. Fast and attentive service. We stayed in a suite that was very large, well laid out, and perfect for hosting 10-15 people. The butler service is phenomenal and willing to help with anything you need! Will absolutely be staying here again! Prices for rooms are quite high, but if looking to spend on a special occasion its well worth it.
Service was great. Valet- Lenny and Pascal were on top of everything from the moment we arrived, to each time we walked out the door. Gave perfect directions to my wifes appointment, got us a car for dinner, were always friendly and always on top of little things as we came and went from hotel. Great, front men. Front counter staff(Jusissa, I think) was polite, friendly and upgraded us as a Amex bonus. Room was amazing. Miranda bought us tea and took care of all our needs including pressing and a few small details for Sarah. She was a pleasure to work with during the stay. Most importantly Sarah and I would like to thank Jon at the Concierge. Jon took the time to sort out our reservation that Amex messed up. Jon got us a reservation for a sold out restaurant on really short notice. He also did multiply other things that truly made our stay so comfortable. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay.
I have stayed at many fine hotels and resorts all over the world and I must admit that the St.Regis New York is creme de la creme when it comes to luxury! With my platinum status, we were upgraded to the very well designed and well decorated Grand Suite! The suite is beautiful with just the perfect amount of opulence. Everyone from the front desk, bell service, to butlers was friendly and courteous. The butler service was very helpful with the coffee in the morning. In room breakfast was delicious. Complimentary Bentley car service to make our anniversary dinner at Daniel helped make the stay even more memorable. We simply just did not want to leave the hotel!
We very much enjoyed our weekend stay at the St. Regis. We found all employees to be friendly and helpful. Our butler was very prompt, helpful, and friendly. The hotel was very busy all weekend, but we never thought it affected the service we received. The room was very nice. We had no view from room 522. However, it was quite large and very quiet. It was very relaxing to come to after exploring the city. The only comment I will make is that the bathroom, while nice, was very dated with dark marble and brass fixtures.
We have been staying at the St Regis New York for over 20 years. We spend our wedding anniversary there every year. Our most recent stay was great but started out quite badly due to the fact that when Marriott converted the St Regis systems over to Marriott systems, they failed to bring over the deep Guest Profiles that had been accumulated over the years by the St Regis. There were no system notes to remind the staff of our room preferences or that we had stayed at the hotel before. With a bit of help from the GM, we were able to sort things out but we should have never been put in that situation. How can a client obsessed company lose one of their most important assets - the guest profile? It was like a very bad dream to check in and not have any our room preferences and setup history available to the front desk staff. Luckily, the staff overcame and all was taken care of. I can only imagine the Starwood to Marriott data conversion process with the Marriott IT folks thinking - we dont have a spot for all of this extraneous information; and heck, we dont need that!, and who would ever notice? WE DID and it took us a bit of our vacation time to sort it all out unnecessarily. Go get our profile information back please!
The room was nice, the service was very good, but the food in their restaurant was amongst the highest in New York and sorely lacking in quality control.I ordered Eggs benedict and the eggs were runny with raw egg whites clearly showing on the plate. The flavor profile was average at best, but the ambiance and service in the restaurant was good. Based on the quality of the food, I would not recommend the restaurant but the hotel itself was still very good.
We stayed at the St. Regis NYC for a family birthday. We have been coming to this property for 25 years and it never fails to be a wonderful experience. In recognition of being Platinum Elite and my wifes birthday, they upgraded us to a beautiful suite. The rooms was fantastic. As always, the butler service was excellent for tea in the afternoon and coffee in the morning. They had graciously offered us dessert to recognize her birthday, but it came after we went to sleep. They generously offered to give us a credit to a drink at the bar for the previous night. Finally, the concierge was extremely helpful. Overall, this is one of her favorite hotels in the world in a magnificent location with exemplary service.
One of the nicest hotels in New York marble head to toe and at least 300 million$ worth antiques in the hallways and rooms. My first stay was smooth and enjoyable, although very very pricy, my second stay was horrible marriot platinum are entitled to a free upgrade and double upgrade option which they didnt provide, and they overcharged the room with a 25% thanksgiving fee!? They paid up in small claims courts, also not to mention they refused to deliver a rollaway to our suite so my 12 year old daughter slept on the couch . Left the hotel and ran away to chatwal right down the street. St Regis, fire your manager please. Lastly the street noise of construction outside began at 3 am in the night and they refused to move us to a higher floor room. Overall, the price reflects the once in a lifetime experience, however dont expect any special treatment from the staff
There are no shortcomings at this hotel. I have stayed at the St. Regis on many occasions for many years and will continue to do so. This is not an inexpensive hotel. You need to be prepared for the cost of the stay. The only issue with the cost is the prices in the Astor Court restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent and the service is outstanding. The prices are not just high; they are obscene. The hotel needs to address this cash grab. Otherwise, I have nothing but praise for the hotel.
Wonderful stay. Tremendous staff. Just a special experience across the board staying at one of the legendary hotels in the history of the world. Concierge staff was particularly helpful to us. This particular trip was a family trip with 2 kids, ages 7 and 10. They were just blown away by everything and the St. Regis helped make it magical. Thank you.
Just had a 10 day stay at the hotel. First of all, have to say that the hotel is GORGEOUS! Nice architecture and a big attention to detail. Overall, the staff is helpful and over the top, special recognition to the two gentlemen outside who are always taking care of your needs and are constantly following up with you if you have been waiting for too long.As a SPG Plat member, I expected more. First, no upgrade was offered even though some suites were available online. I was told that I was not entitled to an upgrade since I was staying on a corporate rate which makes no sense for several reasons:1. Most Platinum members are corporate travelers2. The rate description explicitly mentioned a SPG upgradeIn addition, no late check out was available. The rooms are nice, at first I got a room on the third floor that had a HORRIBLE view to brick walls and emergency stairs. The room was really dark so I asked to be moved after a couple days hoping to get an upgrade this time. Still no luck. The new room felt smaller, the bathroom def felt cheaper than the one in the previous room and the walls at several parts of the room were cracked and screaming for some maintenance. But that’s not all...when I was moved to the new room, there were NUTS under and around the bed from a previous guest, something I def wouldn’t expect of a hotel this price. I called the butler and had the room cleaned, but it def left a bittersweet taste. Not sure if the hotel is worth the $700+/night price tag, but would consider staying again and giving it a second chance.
Ill start out by saying that if anyone wants to stay in a luxurious hotel in the heart of NYC without the stuffy atmosphere that has the most attentive and friendly staff that take pride in attending to your every need without making you feel like youre bothering them, then this is the hotel you want to come to. Last week my husband and I had the privilege of staying for 3 nights at this stunning hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with a great big smile by doorman Matt. Then Christina at the front desk treated us like royalty. The entire historic hotel has been restored to its former glory - it is breathtakingly beautiful. The hallways and our suite were immaculate and I even walked around on the carpet barefoot, without my slippers (which I never ever do)! The food was absolutely wonderful, we had a hard time picking from the plentiful menu. Oh, and we had Bloody Mary drinks (invented here!). I cannot think of one thing that was lacking and I had a big smile on for the entire 3 days. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to come back again.
Beautiful hotel. Our room was lovely and the bathroom was large and clean. Included in our stay was a butler who catered to our every request whose purpose was to pamper us during our stay here. Everything was within walking distance and if you dont feel like walking, they have a house Bentley to take you where you want to go (within a 10 block radius). After years of searching, Ive found my favorite hotel in NYC!!! ❤❤❤❤
The most iconic hotel in NYC. My wife and I staycation here 6-8 times a year. This past trip we booked on a whim. It was Friday afternoon and we had a babysitter for the whole night, so we decided to go to NYC, we were going to book a different hotel but came to our senses and booked the best hotel you possibly can in all of NYCLiterally every other hotel is junk compared to the St Regis. If you want to sleep in a closet, other hotels will do just fine. If you want to sleep like a human being in a comfortable, quiet room. With the most attentive staff in all of NYC then stay at the Regis. You wont be disappointed.Want to make your wife happy, book this hotel.Want to make your trip enjoyable, book this hotelWant the best room service food, book this hotelJust do it!
1. Upon check in, the front desk downgraded my room to a low end room, and refused to change it back. On the arrival date, the Marriott app showed my room type was “Grand Suite” (I have screenshot as proof) consistently thanks to the complimentary upgrades for being a Marriott Titanium Elite member. I also checked in in the app long ago and had confirmed the upgraded room type. However, when I arrived at the front desk to check in in person, they gave me the room keys without telling me that they had switched my “Grand Suite” to a low end room. Not until I entered my room did I realised that they had downgraded my room. I reached down to the front desk, but they maintained that it is the Marriott app’s error for the “Grand Suite” room type that was earlier offered to me, and they refused to change it back. Furthermore, I explained to them that the room they currently assigned to me was too small, and I kindly asked, considering “Grand Suite” was not available, whether they could change my room to a double room. However, they still refused to make any changes. What they did not know was, when I saw “Grand Suite” was offered to me in the app, I was so excited about that trip and expressed my gratitude for St Regis New York hotel in my social media account!! All my friends were waiting for me to show the fabled “Grand Suite” in St Regis New York. Disappointed and embarrassed , I had to let myself vanished from my friends so that they would not keep asking about it. 2. “Butler service” did not exist. This was another disappointment as I thought this was something that makes St. Regis experience different. No one helped take my luggage to my room when I checked in. No one escorted me to my room (It took a while for me to find my room all by myself). The butler did not appear until later that night when I called front desk to ask for a power strip (Yes, I could hardly find enough power wall outlets in my room). The front desk sent a man, (who I later realized to be my “butler”. He did not introduce himself, so I don’t remember his name.) to “help” me look for wall outlets in my room! His voice sounded impatient and I felt like he was the host and I was “his” butler. In the end, I told him a power strip would be better. He left and returned, rang the door bell, watched his phone screen while another hand handing over the power strip to me. 3. This hotel, although being part of Marriott, does not accept Marriott Gift Card as payment.
SPG Plat100 here and enjoyed my first stay here at long last. Was worth the wait. Upgraded to extremely comfortable and spacious Astor Suite. Enjoyed spectacular Table 55 experience at King Cole Bar--food and wine were better even than our dinner the next night at Eleven Madison Park! (You read that right.) Table 55 is one of our best food/wine experiences of all time--and weve been to tons of 3 star Michelin/Pellegerino top 50 restaurants worldwide. The food and beverage at the hotel overall was excellent, including a tremendous breakfast menu. Concierge got us reservation at Eleven Madison Park, a nearly impossible get, as well as a table at the Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel, another tough get. Butler service, housekeeping, valets, everyone was super welcoming and friendly, and were not terribly formal people. The hotel is a more formal feeling St Regis, but the team welcome us like returning guests. A truly special hotel and a worthy flagship property for the brand. We cant wait to return.
For my annual Christmas holiday in New York, I decided to stay at the St Regis. This was the 4th time I had stayed at a St Regis property this year. I was extremely excited because it was the original hotel and service that the others were emulating. The room was gorgeous and met my expectations. However, the service was mediocre at best. Upon arrival there was very little service and the butler showed up after I had been in the room for over an hour. The butler service was not very responsive during my stay. During my stay I had to ask multiple times for butler service. For example, because I had stayed at St Regis previously, I was aware of a particular toiletry. When I asked for the item, the butler stated that I needed to go buy some because it was not included in my room type. I never expected to be made to feel that my service was to be less than others because of my room type. Furthermore, it was over a particular toiletry product! During my stay I had multiple butlers. However, Dolores was a gem. She was very cordial, professional, and treated us very well. Unfortunately, I was not able to eat in the restaurant because it was full every morning with up to 45 minute waits. The option to have room service was great. The service and food were consistent daily. Unfortunately none of the Bloody Marys I had at the hotel were good. Overall, it was a nice stay at St Regis. However, I expected more at this price point. ln the future, I will stay at other properties in NYC.
We stayed there for our anniversary on 24 April. The customer service was beyond compare. Hugo checked me in and was so gracious, friendly and customer oriented. All the front desk staff were wonderful. The room was high quality and very very comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud which we needed as both of us were recovering from a virus and not feeling great. The gentleman who refreshed the room was attentive and did excellent service as was the woman who brought up our amenity. I cant say enough about the incredible customer service from each and every staff member. It truly felt good to be treated like a person and not just someone renting a room for the night like most hotels do. Clearly this hotel has class and really good management. The only place we felt like we were not all that important was at the bar. We were ignored for quite some time after we sat down and no one in there was friendly. We were disappointed in our cocktails. But this was a small thing compared to the overall fabulous experience.
Hello, My fiancé and I only stay at Marriott’s and this year he has stayed at a Marriott properties over 120 nights and is a platinum member and would like to continue. With that said, we have stayed at a number of St. Regis resorts throughout the years and during those stays we have had nothing but 1st class service and an amazing experience. While we stayed at the St. Regis, New York to celebrate our engagement we had nothing but terrible service and the worst experience and quite frankly we aren’t sure if we would ever go back to one. You spend a lot of money and there is a reason why you shouldn’t have 5 star service and boast about your experience to others. Our stay started off poorly, being greeted rudely and ignored and once someone helped us we were told we were going to have to wait for our room which is fine, but after not being called for 4 hours we walked back and were finally checked in after they said they had a number of rooms available. Why didn’t we get a call sooner? Once we were checked in they told us our bags would be right up! An hour passed, no bags. I called down to the front desk to inquire and they said the bell boy would be right up, which he was and had no bags. He continued to ask what our bags looked like and how many and stated “they can’t find them”. After an hour of them searching they found them, no idea where they were and no apologies. As our stay continued we were still treated poorly and heard other guests complaining as well. I know this is a hotel that is supposed to have the best service and employees and that was proven to not be true AT ALL. We were also changed for things that we did not purchase. We stayed at the Moxy (35,000 points) the following night and had the best service and experience and regret not staying their both nights. Needless to say we are disappointed and will not be wasting our money/points on THE St. Regis. I hope this email spikes a manager to talk to the front desk employees and tells them to treat guests like they would want to be treated at a 5 star place. If you would be so kindly to compensate us for our stay it would be greatly appreciated and I will give the St. Regis another shot and hope for the same experience we had at the St. Regis Aspen which was unbelievable!!!
This was a special vacation for my family and St. Regis did not disappoint. My experience was awesome from tine or arrival to departure. Sue at the front desk was exceptional. She even went above and beyond to tell us about the historic features of the hotel and to try to schedule a tour for us but the person was on vacation. Charles the bellman was always very helpful. Butlers Lynn and George provided great service and was very timely. Harold was always very kind and prompt via email and provided great info and recommendations. Facilities, restaurant, and rooms were elegant and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again the next time I am in NYC!
Poor customer service - lacked attention to detail. Decade returning customer. dissapointed on so many levels. Once the gold standard in hotels needs a refresherMy family and I have been staying at the st Regis New York multiple times per year for a decade. In all our times we have been amazed at the high level of service and attention to detail. This year the room had multiple chipped walls and paint that was cracking and in need of repair. I have been a gold member for years and have utilized its benefits for a late checkup. This year I requested It and was told 2 pm instead of 4(But check back in the morning?)I again called the front desk at 9 am and was told “the best we can do is noon”. No explanation nothing. I advised them that regular checkout is at noon so why did they request I waste time and call downstairs the next morning. One would assume that every guest in the hotel is not a gold and platinum member so to have every room check out at noon is unreasonable especially since I called and said can we have until 1 pm as I had a meeting scheduled. The front desk again with no warmth or compassion stated “we will pack your things and remove them from the room at noon”It was if I was being evicted after a decade of a 4 pm checkout now an hour grace period was without question. As I stated we have enjoyed your hotel for many years but after this dissapoitng experience I cannot see us returning.
Simply my best ever hotel experience. The service was with no doubt next level vs what I could have imagined. The rooms were beautiful and resourceful, the complimentary fruits and services to the room was great. The lobby and breakfast room where both stunningly beautiful. This was a once in a lifetime experience.
My husband and I booked a one night stay at The St. Regis as part of a special birthday celebration. We booked using our Starwood Points. We were pleasantly surprised by a room upgrade upon arrival. In addition, we were offered a drink at the hotel bar and two desserts in the restaurant to enjoy during our stay. Our room was lovely and spacious, with full amenities, fresh fruit, and included a floor butler. While we were a bit hurried to get changed and depart for our dinner plans, the butler brought us a lovely pot of tea which was a perfect reason to pause and take it all in. It quickly occurred to us both that this was indeed a hotel one should linger in. The beauty and old world charm of this hotel is evident in the photos shown on line, what was unexpected was the genuine level of service and gracious attitude of the staff at the property. We were made to feel as if we were the most important guests in the hotel. It truly made for a memorable stay.Looking forward to return.
This is our first time to stay in the prestigious St. Regis New York and we are happily surprised. It was such a memorable stay that we enjoyed a lot!First, the staff is professional and incredibly friendly. We were warmly received by front desk agent Sarah and Christina. They are considerate, generous and extremely friendly. We are so lucky to have them. Our Butler José is confident and certainly takes pride in his work. Our breakfast at Astor Court was served by delightful Javier. He was attentive and very down-to-earth. Our breakfast was perfect thanks to him. William and Tom at concierge are excellent as well. Also our waiter whose name I forgot to at King Cole Bar was very nice too.Coming to this highly renowned hotel we thought the staff might be intimidating. However, we found everyone is not only very professional, but also kind and friendly. You easily strike a insightful conversation with them. They are also very proud of what they do. They know very well about the hotel and are eager to share the history/stories of the hotel. Second, we were very impressed with how modern and subtle the room is. There is no sign of age. The heater on the bathroom floor, the sleek control on the bathtub, the top-notch gadget to customize all the lights and temperature... Its a century-old hotel yet it is really well-appointed and high tech.Last but not least, I love how heritage and history was well kept and respected in this hotel. It shows in its interior design. It shows in staffs word of mouth. And they even dedicate a little hallway full of historical items related to St Regis, which I enjoyed immensely. It was truly a memorable stay. The respect of heritage and history without sacrificing modernity and comfort served with warm and professional hotel staff cant be beaten.
I have found the staff makes the experience. Yes the hotel is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and maintained at the highest level (not a single light bulb out in the entire hotel!), but the staff is what made this stay special and will make you want to return again and again. Two concierges with extensive knowledge of the city. So no standing in line. A manager in the lobby answering questions, directing traffic, assisting guests with problems. Accommodating check in staff that make your first experience with the hotel relaxing. A butler who is available at all times and can seemingly accomplish any task. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Simply flawless.
What can say that others have not said about this fabulous hotel! Stayed here over the holidays and it was amazing, the staff are the most professional, kindest, and warmest hotel staff I have encountered in quite a while. From gentleman that opens the door to the bell hops, so nice. Really enjoyed my days here, it was like being home but with more wait staff!! The suite was breathe taking and everything was well appointed and was way above my expectations!!
Beautifully placed hotel and luxurious rooms with extraordinary decor and service. The staff is very helpful and guess what, the hotel also has a butler service - ensures very timely service. And a very new thing I saw here - an electric mirror, reflecting TV embedded in washroom mirror. And yes, the cost is justified - given you book at below 500$ per day, more than that - you have to evaluate priorities!
One of the best hotels in the United States! Beautiful interiors, impeccable service, clean, classy and detail-oriented care. We were celebrating a special occasion and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel extra special and provided many complimentary perks. The one caveat: the sales team on the phone were less than professional when I had an issue with my bill. They were incredibly rude when I spoke to them and did not return my call — disappointed.
I know the St. Regis already has an excellent reputation, but it exceeded mine. I was going to New York for pleasure and was looking for a good hotel, good location, and good amenities. Chose the St. Regis and got an exceptional Hotel, Great Location, and Excellent Amenities. We had a Madison Suite, it was awesome, clean and comfortable. Service from the Doorman, Front Desk, Concierge, Housing Staff, Butler, and Restaurant and Bar Staff were all excellent. I will stay there again, and again. I will recommend the St. Regis to all my friends traveling to New York.
The St. Regis New York is one of the rare hotels where reputation matches reality. The hotel is a Beaux Arts jewel. We were delighted to arrive for a three-night, holiday weekend stay and find that our suite was ready at 11 a.m. SPG recognition was excellent; our suite was spacious and well-appointed. The butler service was great in meeting needs quickly. Housekeeping and turn-down service kept the suite in beautiful shape. A couple of points for improvement: The telephone system could use an update. It was often difficult to page the butler from the phone in our living room. It was also very easy to inadvertently hang up on any caller because of the two lines and need to press a power button on the handset. Also, while food service was impeccable, the food quality did not always match. For example, in our one visit to the King Cole bar, my hamburger bun was dry and stale. But the Red Snapper was delicious! We look forward to our next visit.
This hotel is amazing. The St Regis upgraded my stay to a beautiful 1000 square foot room. This room has 2 full bathrooms, a living room, and a large bedroom. The customer service is a major asset to this establishment. The butler service and Bentley car shuttle complements the beautiful atmosphere the hotel offers. I will be staying at these facilities all over the country after staying at the St Regis NYC. I will never book another hotel in New York besides the St Regis.
Booked two rooms for else, wife and two kids. Used a suite reward and was upgraded to amazing 2 bedroom suite.Great stay, only couple of very minor comments - bar is too small and had to chase Butler to get ironing back on time.Enjoyed the Bentley town car for ride down to theatre district, breakfast was great and generally level of service was exceptional.
Wonderful 5 night stay where everything met or exceeded our expectations. I traveled with my mother and daughter for her 13th birthday. Our butler, Nestor, went above and beyond to make her celebration memorable. We received a platinum room upgrade and chose the breakfast amenity. We were very pleased. EVERY staff person we encountered were professional and very friendly. They made us feel very welcomed. My only small complaint is that upon booking with our platinum concierge, they failed to mention the hefty nightly fee for a roll away bed. We probably wouldve still booked it this way because who wants to share a double bed? But it would have been good information to have in advance of check in.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the St. Regis New York to celebrate her birthday in April. Before checking into our room we enjoyed a fantastic tea in the hotel lobby. After checking in we left to head up to our rooms. Upon getting up to our room we were shocked to find out that we had been upgraded to the Bentley Suite! It came as a complete surprise and neither of us could believe that the hotel was kind enough to do this and keep it a surprise! The hotel room was fantastic and had the perfect balance of luxury and function. It was set up in such a way to welcome you and make you feel right at home. As great as the room itself was, the service is what truly stood out. Every member of the St Regis Staff went above and beyond to make out stay special and help us feel welcomed. My only complaint is that the St Regis set the bar so high that I doubt any other hotel could meet it. Thank you again for an amazing stay and we cant wait to come back!
My wife and I stayed at the St Regis New York for 3 nights in a delux room. The whole experience from pre-arrival to leaving was handled with such class and professionalism. The staff arranged champagne, strawberries & chocolate, and a huge bouquet of flowers for our arrival. They had even wrote out a personal welcome wishing my wife a happy birthday. The attention to detail by every member of staff was amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble. We enjoyed drinks in the King Cole bar on 3 separate occasions, each time the staff made sure we had a table and took our orders straight away. The signature drink of the bar is the red snapper so we decided to sample one. It wasnt to our liking but thats just a personal thing. The point we want to make however is that when we mentioned it to the waiter he took the drink away and when our bill arrived it was not charged for...another example of the way they ensure your stay is 100% enjoyable. We also had some bar food & snacks which were delicious. The check in and check out was seemless and stressfree, all down to the wonderful front of house staff. To put it simply if you want to stay at a hotel that makes you feel like the most important guest then choose the St Regis New York, its exquisite!
This hotel never disappoints. The thing that makes them stand out is that they have virtually no staff turnover. I have been coming for years now and have gotten to know the doormen, bellmen and other staff, who now remember me and are always attentive. This kind of attention to detail makes this hotel worth every penny of the price. It is probably worth double the price. It is also nice because it is somewhat of a smaller hotel than some in NYC and you can always get an elevator quickly.

From the moment you walk into the hotel you are welcomed with a warm smile. My wife and I were in line to check in the hotel and after 30 seconds a manager greeted us and made sure we were helped. The service is second to none. The staff knows your name as soon as you step into the hotel and remembers it during your stay. Food and service are excellent. All the staff is friendly, professional, warm and attentive to all your needs. The suite was wonderful and perfect for entertaining our guests before we attended a gala at the Rockefeller Center. This is our go to hotel when staying in the city.
We have stayed at this property now twice with different experiences. The first better than the second. This most recent stay we had revolving butlers, less than attentive front staff and more aloof bar service. That being said, it was still a very good experience. The first stay though was exceptional! By the way, don’t skip room service, it is stellar and faster than the restaurant. As an aside, I had to ask for my gold upgrade at checkin as it was not offered. Our room was beautiful but had a view of a rooftop and another section of the hotel- not very appealing.
This legendary hotel has such a special meaning to travelers all around the world and all the fans of Starwood. Thanks to St. Regis New York, I get my first precious opportunity to experience the wonderful Tiffany Suite. This noble designer suite has a large dining room, a beautiful living room, a cosily decorated bedroom and an elegant spacious bathroom. Tiffany blue color is found everywhere in the room and Tiffany spirit is fully embed in the ornament and detail of furniture. There was a moment I just found that history was told by this furnished room, and the design intelligence is integrated perfectly with those new facilities. I just love it so much and I feel it so hard to expect anything better for this stay. From my room, I can actually see that most luxury brand stores on 5th Avenue are just at foot of this hotel and I also get a nice view of Central Park. From my point of view, the service of this hotel is just as good as its location and room condition. The warm welcome I received from the front desk is undoubtedly a St Regis standard. Hugo, the front desk agent did a good job by indeed making me feel that I am such a valued member here. The butler service makes me feel I am cared without awkward.I think I will always keep the precious memory of this weekend, and hopefully I can visit back to this gorgeous St Regis very soon.
The customer service did not meet my expectations. I stayed here for my birthday, and my room was not ready when my guest arrived to the hotel (and I specified the time of arrival the night before via the app). My mom tried to order me birthday treats for the room, but the concierge sent her to a website. Lastly, I told Marriott about my concerns as a Titanium member and the manager called me, but she did not seem to care about my concerns and offered me points and to let her know when I come again. I didn’t want the points just genuineness, but I still haven’t received them (two weeks have passed). However, I’m not surprised, this was another reflection of the customer service. Overall, the room and facilities were gorgeous as expected, but I won’t return for that reason alone.
My husband and I came here for a milestone birthday- we were upgraded to a suite upon arrival and though our room was not ready, they promptly let us know when it was. Upon arrival to our room, we were blown away at the size and the grandeur of the suite we had- massive windows, beautiful large bathroom, oversized bed and luxurious couch. John, our butler quickly grabbed our tea/coffee order and provided us with fresh fruit- all with no charge!!My husband and I truly felt like we were at home- we watched the Masters golf tournament like a King and Queen! We cannot wait to go back!!Thank you St. Regis for a lovely time!
I was here for four nights for business and leisure and the hotel met all of my expectations. As always the rooms are quite elegant and for those who have not stayed at the property, they have been thoroughly updated to 2014 standards. We received two excellent restaurant recommendations (one for a Japanese lunch and the other for a seafood dinner) from the concierge. Breakfast was excellent and was prepared as ordered. We enjoyed the bar one night and the drinks and bar food were excellent.Joseph at the Front Desk during the day and Michael at the Front desk during the late night were always helpful. The service was just outstanding. The fitness facilities meet my needs but they are substandard for a property of this quality. However I understand that a new facility on one of the upper floors will be opened in August.
Stayed at the St. Regis over the weekend for a NYC getaway. First let me say this hotel is stunning both inside and out with an extremely friendly and helpful staff from the moment you walk up the steps in to the lobby. The king size deluxe room was well appointed for this price range and very quiet. My only wish were for more windows and a view as the one and only window was facing the inside corner of the hotel but its NYC and expected I guess. My only negatives are regarding some of the amenities that were promoted by the hotel during my booking research and by the front desk staff/concierge upon arrival. We were told a butler would arrive to our room shortly to introduce themselves and show us the amenities in the room. However a butler never came. I paged them later in the evening to have a shirt pressed and shoes shined for a dinner reservation and was told it would be 1.5 to 2 hrs to complete. That was not enough time as our reservation was in 2 hrs 8 blocks away. The front desk and concierge reminded me that the house Bentley was available for drop offs on a 1st come basis within 10 blocks and to come down to the concierge and door man approx. 20-30 prior. We waited for approx. 20 minutes and the Bentley never came, a Mercedes was substituted and took us to dinner in ample time. We did not in fact see the Bentley the entire weekend outside the hotel. If it is unavailable that is fine but do not promote it if it is not. We did use the coffee service in the am which was fantastic. Overall a top notch hotel despite some minor things.
The staff at the checkin was very friendly and polite and offered us an early checkin (we arrived at noon) with the chance for a room with street view, but we decided to stay at the courtyard room.We stayed 2 nights in a superior room. Compared to other similar Hotels in NYC it is very big - 40 m2. The room was so nice and in very good condition - we had to force ourselves to leave the room. The bad was very comfortable and the bath has a separate shower and toilet (with glass doors). Housekeeping does a great job.We were at the King Cole Bar on both nights. The ambience is very nice and the drinks are very good. The barkeepers are very professionell and friendly. The concierge is amazing. The location is perfect. Midtown, close to the Park and the nice shops - all in short walking distance.Next time in NYC we will stay there for sure.Thank you to the whole team for such a nice experience.
We were very impressed by the level of service at the hotel. The staff was extremely attentive from the second we stepped out of our cab, and each staff member we interacted with went out of their way to make our stay special. Hugo checked us in and was very thorough and upgraded us to a Fifth Ave. suite which we greatly appreciated. We received free breakfast as our Platinum welcome amenity and the service was fantastic although the American breakfast was just ok. Otherwise fantastic stay overall!
I have stayed at The St Regis NYC many times as well as other hotels including: The Ritz, The Pierre, The Plaza, The Peninsula, Rosewood Carlyle, and Mandarin Oriental, and I always return to the Regis. It is hands down my favorite of all in NYC. I love the elegant classic decor, their signature smell (which i bought at the shop), and modern amenities. The service is consistently impeccable. And you can’t beat the location. When I’m staying at the st Regis, I tend to not want to leave it, but when I do, there are several great restaurants, shopping, Rockefeller Plaza, the famous food court in The Plaza, and the park all within walking distance. The museums are a short ride away.
Once again the St Regis is the gold standard. The New York hotel was great for service, food and the suite itself. It was my birthday and I was treated to a wonderful cake. We had a lovely Bentley ride to our dinner at Daniel nearby. Our room was so comfortable (we were upgraded) and our meal at the King Cole Bar was exceptional for food and service. We enjoyed our American breakfast in our room, and that service was excellent too, as were the services of the doormen and desk staff. The location is unbeatable -- an oasis with so much to enjoy nearby. Well be back!
My wife and I stayed at the St Regis one recent weekend night. The staff was great, friendly and professional. The King Cole bar was lively and the bartenders were great. The decor was nice throughout the hotel. The butler service was a pleasant surprise. Like I said, ya get what ya pay for.
The service here was wonderful. The staff was responsive and helpful when asked and even accommodated some more unique requests without hesitation. The room was nice however the bed was truely terrible. You could feel the springs in the mattress and it had almost no cushion to it at all. Even as a person who likes more firm beds, it was not comfortable and made me wonder whether the normal mattress had recently been substituted out of our room for some reason. While the food at the restaurant was good, it was not a particularly inspired menu and appeared to be playing to the lowest common denominator of preferences.
The St Regis NY is a stunning and luxurious hotel in the heart of Manhattan. Located on 5th and 55th, the St Regis is a classic. The rooms are magnificent and plush. I was upgraded to a huge suite as a Platinum SPG member. The service is stellar. The butler was amazing and always ready to assist. The entire staff went out of their way to meet every expectations and make my stay amazing. The room was comfortable and the bed - heavenly. The amenities in the room were all first class. I love that the hotel uses Remede bath products theyre my favorite. The shower had amazing water pressure and the bathtub was great. I cant say anything bad about the room.Once you stay at the St Regis, youll never want to stay anywhere else.
My travel companion and I stayed overnight at St. Regis during a weekend. According to records - St. Regis is the oldest hotel in NYC. But, you wouldnt be able to tell as it appears to have been very well maintained. I scored an upgraded suite with my Marriott points and I couldnt have been more pleased. The suite was configured with a living area, bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms. Need extra hotel conveniences? Just dial Butler on your phone and your needs will be met. Valet parking is almost $90/night, but I reckoned convenience over cost during my stay. Youre in downtown NYC and so, you have plenty of shopping and dining options in close proximity. Ill likely stay here again.
Let me start by saying that I called the St. Regis and informed the staff that I was planning to propose to my girlfriend. On the day of the engagement. We arrived at the hotel and I have to say, I was supremely impressed by the staff. They were covert in asking if we were celebrating any special occassions? Once I mentioned that we got engaged they said, Oh good. We saw your note and wanted to make sure we didnt spoil the surprise. Then proceeded to escort us to our room.Which was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome at the hotel which is simply gorgeous. The chandeliers, the carpeting, the spotless windows, left my now fiance gobsmacked. We stayed in one of the suites and were greeted with flat panel TVs, fresh fruit on a plate, complimentary shoe shine service, complimentary clothes press, TV built into the bathroom mirror, suit jacket hanger, slippers, bathroom, water, the works! Then we were additionally surprised when the doorbell rang. A butler came and asked if we needed anything. I asked for a dental kit and he came back within seconds. We felt like royalty. My fiance had the time of her life and loved how the wonderful staff treated us like the most important guests in their hotel.I was truly impressed with the St. Regis. I know this will sound like a small detail, but I really loved how the doors and floors did not creak or squeak. The room was silent which allowed me to feel secure knowing that everything was private. I wish we had stayed longer but I had a strict budget and unfortunately could not stay for more than one night.Truly, the St. Regis provided stellar service that I have not seen anywhere else. The staff and the hotel exceeded my expectations and I would LOVE to stay with them again in the future.
From the time you check in, you are warmly welcomed and escorted to the room where the Butler is waiting to serve you with a drink of your choice. The hotel is very well located supported with nice facility. You must try their renowned Blood Mary, as they were the creators of this iconic drink. The staff and service overall is very good and one should definitely experience a stay at this hotel.
Having travelled frequently, I can honestly say, the St Regis in NYC is my favourite hotel. There are many many choices of luxury hotels in Manhattan, but I personally dont think they come even close to the St Regis. Its not a very big hotel, and so you dont feel like a number, incredibly charming yet ultra luxurious, discreet and the staff are incredibly hospitable and go out of their way to be helpful. What is incredible about this hotel? You are in the middle of the city, and once you enter those revolving doors, you cannot hear a pin drop. It is incredibly quiet, and in a city where it never sleeps, to have total silence is a luxury. I did not hear one siren!I was fortunate enough to stay in one of their signature suites, and it did not disappoint. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth every cent because its like no there hotel experience. If you want to experience old world sophistication when in NY, I would highly recommend the St Regis and its wonderful staff.Thank you for making my stay memorable. I will be back no doubt.
It was our 1st year wedding anniversary and we decided to stay at one of my favorite hotels in this world- The St. Regis, New York. It was simply magical! When we checked in , Jose and Pedro looked feverishly to upgrade us to an even better suite, and they did! The butlers were nice and attentive. The bed was so comfortable, bathroom was spacious, our living room and Tiffany dining room over looked 5th ave and Central Park! This was one of the best suites we have been in and so romantic! We decided to have breakfast in our suite, why not? Both the manager and room service attendant were so pleasant! We had afternoon tea which was wonderful!PEDRO you were truly one of the best front desk managers that I have encountered. Thank you ST. Regis New York for a memorable and beautiful experience!
Elegant and Classy! The rooms were breathtaking! It was spacious and complete with amenities that the guest may need during their stay. We highly appreciate the kindness of the staff. They made sure that my mom and I have everything that we need to make our stay comfortable! Thank you! I highly recommend The St. Regis New York!
I stay at the New York St. Regis 4 times per year for 3 or more nights. In fact I stay at St. Regis hotels exclusively if the brand is offered in a city I am traveling to. As usual, the front desk, bellman, concierge and gentleman in front of the hotel were fantastic as always. I always eat breakfast at the hotel (primarily because I have a Centurion card and it is included) and Ive always thought the service and food were wonderful. This past week the restaurant was understaffed, people were walking out without getting their breakfasts and the hostesses were beyond rude. With the exception of our waiter/waitress on Wednesday 8/30 and Saturday 9/2, nothing was brought out as requested, the table was too small to accommodate out breakfast order on Sunday and for the first time that I can remember, I had to send my food back. We arrived at the restaurant at 9 am and it was 2 hours for breakfast. There becomes a point when a free breakfast is not worth the time and aggravation. I also received a call at 1:00 am Sunday morning from the hotel operator for someone looking for something left in my room. I really dont like be woken up in the middle of the night but I know most hotels when someone asks to put a call through to a room they ask for the last name. Im sure if that had been done, the person would not have given my last name and that could have been averted. Finally, this was the first time Ive ever stayed at a St Regis hotel where the Butler has not come by upon arrival in the room to introduce themselves and ask if there were any special requests. Im hoping that this trip was just a rare hiccup and when I return in October that service will be as previously experience.
A top tier hotel with basic plumbing issue and impose hazard on guests lost item1) I have being staying in the hotel for two days. The first night, when I tried to use the faucet, the cold water side came out with hot water until an engineer came to run the cold water side for quite a while. The problem came up after every use of hot water, and therefore we were switched to a different room. The new room has less severe problem but the same kind, plus weaker water flow.2) The butler service is not even as responsive as average. It took more than ten minute for me to get what I have requested.3) The facilities are not consistent in the two rooms I have been staying, such as the weight scale and bed end stool were missed in the room that I was switch to.4) After the stay, my partner left a ring in the bathroom, which was retrieved by the hotel staff. However, when she picked up the ring, it is cracked. In such case, the hotel staff was not expressing basic sympathy to the disappointment, less responsibility. I was told that the ring is bared attached to a piece of paper when it was given to her as if no care is dedicated to the item. When I called the hotel trying to complain, I am told that the way to handle the item is just an internal procedure.
5 night stay for fun! Luxury experience from check in to check out. Fantastic staff as well. One of the most comfortable beds in the industry and the linens were a dream. Had drinks in the bar and food served in the bar from Astor Court. Dinner one night from Room Service. Expensive yes, but as they founder of Gucci once said, quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.
The St. Regis New York City offers a truly remarkable experience. From the moment we arrived to moment we left there was not a thing that I wanted that was already anticipated. The staff is truly professional and welcoming - truly focused on hospitality. The Butler service is impeccable and non-intrusive as I have seen at other hotels. We had room service each morning and the service and food was outstanding. If I tried really hard there is not one flaw that I can find with our stay at the St. Regis. Truly an incredible experience well done!Thank you St. Regis Staff for making this hotel so special. We will be back!!!!
The St Regis HotelIt already has me as it is situated perfectly in my favourite city New York. From checking in to checking out - a breeze. Our room was beautiful. Not a Suite. A King Room but spacious, luxurious and most of all very comfortable and quiet. Gym facilities and staff brilliant. Food amazing and we loved the Bar. Oh and we loved the use of a Butler and we must extend an award to Housekeeping - a Housekeeping trolley was never seen yet like ninjas our room was perfectly cleaned, fresh fruit and chocokates an extra treat. I would only want to ever stay here in New York. So so worth it. Thank you.
We and our family of 10 stayed at the St. Regis for 3 nights for a special celebration weekend. From the moment we checked in, this hotel was true perfection! We had two gorgeous newly renovated suites...a one bedroom suite with 2 gorgeous marble bathrooms decorated magnificently and also a two-bedroom suite with 3 equally gorgeous marble bathrooms. The living rooms had plenty of seating and a large couch that pulled out and was made up with the nightly turn-down service just the way the luxurious beds were in each bedroom - with beautiful down comforter and lush pillows. The Butler service for these rooms was outstanding and each request was addressed promptly and perfectly. The rooms are immaculately clean, the hotel amenities are wonderful and the service impeccable. Of course, the location at 55th and 5th is perfect for shopping, theater and restaurants. The staff is extremely professional, polite, welcoming, warm and if you are looking for a special NYC spot, this is the hotel!
We have stayed at other St. Regis properties, and this original one did not disappoint. Lovely, comfortable furnishings, newly renovated in both a modern and traditional style. Superb service, warm and efficient. Enjoyed breakfast, afternoon tea, and bar service, all delightful experiences. The fitness center was small but very clean with all basic machines provided, and all the amenities. We would highly recommend this property to anyone for a trouble-free stay in a great location. Every request was met cheerfully and efficiently. We stayed four nights and felt like we came home each time we returned from an outing.
The hotel is so well located and beautiful. The staff makes every attempt to make sure whatever you need is available. I cant say enough about the comfort of the room- the bed is divine, plenty of storage, sitting, and surface areas, and the bathroom is perfection with both a tub and walk in shower as well as double sinks. Fresh fruit daily and nightly bottles of water are a few of the additional details that makes a stay even more special.
I had a wonderful recent stay at the St. Regis for a family girls weekend. I was immediately recongized as Platinum and upgraded to a fabulous suite. It was my mothers birthday and they delivered a cake for us. It made her feel very special. We had breakfast every day in the room which was a nice indulgence. Lovely property, exceptionally trained staff, perfect shopping location, great cocktails in the bar and high-end room. It was a perfect getaway to celebrate a birthday.
My daughter and I stayed at St. Regis for a girls trip and it was wonderful! The butler service is amazing and a true treat. The staff was courteous and friendly. The concierge is most helpful and the location is very convenient. I have stayed in many hotels in NYC and this is by far the quietest. I was very happy to have a virtually sound proof room, which led to many peaceful nights with great sleep.
Terrific location, elegant rooms and suites, and superb staff. Butler service makes the morning begin on a high note. Everyone says hello or have a great day or welcome back, so you feel related to the staff. They are all first rate, from concierges to butlers to front desk. Even the housekeepers are professional and meticulous. You will feel special at the St Regis NYC and feel eager to come back.
An amazing experience. Everything about this hotel is phenomenal. Our room was beautiful, with a mix of classic style and modern amenities. Super comfortable and classy. The french press coffee brought to the room was a nice touch. Youll enjoy your stay, and youll want to come back.
We booked one night to stay in NY to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived and checked in we were met by friendly welcoming staff. We were told the room was gorgeous. We get upstairs and they upgraded us to the Royal Suite. Gorgeous doesnt begin to describe it. The suite was regal absolutely beautiful. The butler was very helpful. I woke up early to enjoy the sunrise, the views of central park and the tiny cabs 17 stories below. The heated bathroom floors to the elaborate detailing of the furniture and the drapes all I can say is I wish we couldve stayed longer. Will definitely be back soon. Thank you so much St Regis.
I had a great experience at this hotel. Its in a great location next to shopping, restaurants, and central park. The staff is very professional. The hotel itself is luxurious. I stayed in a beautiful suite. The butler service is great too. They brought be tea every morning and unpacked my suitcases for me. I definitely recommend this property.
One of the better st Regis properties as youd hope given its the flagship. Well maintained rooms with over the top finishes. Welcome amenity of some fruit was waiting. King Cole bar is worth a stop for tasty beverages and snacks. Service was good but butler wait times could be thirty minutes or more maybe due to the property being sold out.
I like trying new hotels, and I have stayed at several five-star hotels in NYC over the years. The St. Regis is easily the best of all of them. It is very classy, old-school luxurious, and traditional (all in a good way). If you are looking for the hip, new, trendy hotel with minimalistic everything (furniture, amenities, service, etc.), the St. Regis is not your place. If you like feeling like you are the king or queen of a European country visiting the US, this is your place. Diplomats and celebrities who want to stay under the radar stay here.Trust me, Ive seen them and their security teams. The suites and junior suites that I have stayed in have all been large and nicely appointed. Little things like water pressure in the shower, plush towels, top-of-the-line bathroom products, and chocolates on the coffee tables are all unexpected, pleasant surprises. Nothing at this hotel disappoints. The service is also the best in the city. Some rooms come with butler service, which is top notch. Nothing is inexpensive here, from the rooms to the room service menu items. But everything I have experienced at this St. Regis has been well worth the price. When I dont have time to research the hip, new, boutique hotels located more downtown, or when I just want to know that I am going to have a great room with great service, this St. Regis is my go-to hotel. I highly recommend it.
For some context, I live in hotels and am fortunate enough to stay at some of the very best properties in the world. This was my first time in the St Regis in New York and, i have to say, that it completely exceeded anything and everything i thought it would be. An upgrade is always nice to get and that is without question one of the most incredible hotel suites i have every stayed in, but more than that, the staff were the best Ive ever stayed with (Liubov at the front desk and McKinley at the concierge especially). Everything felt effortless but extraordinarily special at the same time. Comfortable, yet the height of luxury. This is a very hard thing to get right, but this hotel managed to get it spot on.Thank you so much for making the birthday so special. I just have no idea what to do for next year now! Maybe ill just come back here...
The rooms are VERY comfortable and the non-front desk staff were very warm and friendly, especially George the butler, the housekeeper, and the bellmen. But I would not stay here again given the complete hassle of check in/check out (it is 2017!) and the other annoyances. The check in process was awful. We arrived with a sleeping toddler at 2pm (the requested check in time), had to wait in line, and then were told to sit in one of 2 chairs in the cramped, tiny lobby while they could figure out when our room might be ready. My husband sat there for 40 minutes then left. When I returned 3 hours later, I once again had to wait in line. When I got to my room, neither my luggage was there nor was the crib I requested 3 hours previously. I ordered a meal for my son at Astor Court, gave my room number and last name and was told they would call the room when it was ready. I had to leave for an event and wondered why, an hour later, the food hadnt arrived. When I called the restaurant, I was told they lost my room number. I had already left the hotel, and my son did get his salmon, but I have no idea what condition it was in. In addition, the valet lost my husbands shoes for a day, but thankfully found them before we left. And the kicker was that I called the butler for complimentary coffee, then got a $47 charge that I had to spend time dealing with at check out. For the price, there are plenty of other hotels in NYC with comfortable rooms and a more gentile and savvy check in/out process.
My husband and I just returned from five wonderful days in New York city during the Christmas Season. Our stay at the St. Regis using our Starwood Points (option conversion) contributed greatly to our fabulous trip. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and helpful during our entire stay. From the doorman to the bellmen to the front desk staff to the concierge to the butler. Oh, and lets not forget the bar service at the King Cole Bar and the Astor restaurant. Exceptional service and an extremely comfortable room. Special kudos to our new best friends, Dominic and Robert, distinguished concierges, who were so helpful with restaurants, directions and general advice on getting around Mid-town Manhattan and enjoying our stay. We truly felt the St. Regis was our home away from home. Will definitely return.
Have stayed many times with my family during Christmas time at the St Regis over the years...the stale cigarette smoke fumes we dealt with for 4 days were terrible. My wife is allergic to smoke and to be told that there was nothing they could do about someone on our floor smoking next to our room was disappointing to say the least. We had to stuff towels under our door and open our window each night to try and not smell it. Definitely not a luxury experience. Also beware of the $50 per day charge per room...we never received the $50 per day per room credit for our expenses. Too bad this elegant hotel has started to make their policies similar to the IRS tax laws....difficult at best to understand.
I love this hotel. Even the standard rooms are huge and elegant. Im a gold member so I was given a spacious corner room. Everybody has been extremely friendly. The butler service was very responsive and great. Check-in process was a breeze...was able to check-in on my phone and pick up the key at the desk. Im definitely staying here next time I come to NYC!
We intentionally planned an international trip to start with a positioning flight to NYC so that we could experience the St. Regis. It is extraordinary. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Our accommodations were excellent and the service people we came in contact with were each very helpful and friendly. Three fun things we did “on property” were the 6pm champagne sabering, sipping a Red Snapper (aka Bloody Mary) in the bar where it was created, and taking a ride in the house car, a brand new Bentley! It is also in a great location within short walking distance to many points of interest in midtown Manhattan. And the frosting on the cake, the St Regis is now part of the Marriott family. We paid for our stay with points.
We love the St. Regis and usually stay a few nights every Christmas season--the rooms are beautiful and spacious (easily accommodating 3 people, with the large sofa--just make sure to ask for an extra duvet, not a blanket). My kids always look forward to our few days at the St. Regis--its become a holiday tradition in our family. The St. Regis staff is very helpful and solicitous. Location wise, its great for shopping or going to the Park. Though its right off 5th avenue, the hotel feels quiet and elegant, and its a nice getaway from the holiday madness. Dining is excellent, but the Bar is the real draw. After a long flight, its a great place to unwind or meet friends. The only criticism Id offer is that early check in can be hard to get--Ive had trouble even with on-time check ins a few times, so make sure that you make it clear when you need the room.
This was our 20th Wedding Anniversary and my wife wanted to see the sights in NYC to include all of the Christmas displays. The location of the hotel is perfect, close to most sites, walking distance. We stayed for 3 nights 4 days. The suite I was in (307) was Fantastic, 1 bedroom, 2 bath right on 55th. The room was very quiet, occasionally you heard a siren or horn but it is NYC. Everybody from the Front Desk Staff, Bellman, Butlers and Housekeeping were very helpful and took care of any request we had. The room was very clean and the turn down service at night was very nice. Slippers each side of the bed, water on night table, etc. I travel all over the world and have stayed at many different hotels but I have to say, every St Regis I have stayed at is absolutely the best there is. I cannot say enough about the service and the entire staff, they are the best in the business. We were lucky enough to get the car service supplied by the hotel one night, it is a brand new 2013 Bentley. What a ride that was, nobody does it like a St. Regis. If you are in New York, I would highly recommended the St. Regis you will not be disappointed. To all the staff at the St. Regis, a BIG Thank You from me and my wife. You are true professional’s.
Grandeur, spectacular, luxurious, historical... Pick any word and it would fit this hotel perfectly well. If you wanna splurge a little bit, either on your points or your wallet, you should consider this property. My gf and I were fortunately enough to stay at St. Regis NYC for 5 nights during the Christmas season using points. All suites were booked out and we were unable to get an upgrade and I did appreciate the extra effort to upgrade me to grand luxe. The room was perfect in every single possible aspect. Butlers were very friendly and their services were top notch. 5 days of room service breakfast were delivered on time.Id say Im 95% satisfied with St. Regis NYC however there are a few minor improvements.1. I was not informed about the waived destination fee on stays over 4 nights. It caused a bit of problem and took 5-10 minutes to be solved. This is a minor thing.2. The f&b system being dumb. Its related to the plat free breakfast credit. Again, a minor thing.3. If each room could have 2 rounds of free coffee or tea rather than one in the morning, that would be even better.
Definitely a property I will be staying at again. It went above and beyond on my expectations. The location makes it easy too get to several top restaurants and outstanding shopping. Can easily walk to Central Park but honestly for those that have visited New York, I found it hard to even want to leave the property.I had the opportunity to experience in room dining, have dinner at the restaurant and visit the Old King Cole Bar.While I have visited New York City several times staying at this property you quickly tell that it’s a frequent of locals also.
I decided to surprise my husband with a little over night trip for his birthday. When we walked in we werent greeted or asked if they could take our bags (the way they have done on previous occasions). Once my reservation information was given to him his attitude completely changed (I used my credit card points to reserve the room) . I was completely rushed, he then walked away and said he was going to get confirmation form the manager (I have no idea what for), he came back out about 10 seconds later and gave me the key cards and told me the room number and that was it. Meanwhile the other women that were working at the counter were extremely lovely and polite with the other guests that were checking in. Once in our room our butler came and he was wonderful. My husband then went to take a shower and he had to get out after a few minutes because the water wouldnt go down. The part that covers the shower head pipe coming out of the wall was just hanging on he shower head, there was a space between the tub and molding looked like someone didnt take the time to put a small tile so they just put a ton of caulking on it and it looked dirty. The bottom of the doors and moldings looked like they had been constantly hit and scratched, the mirror was broken, there was a weird yellow caulking on the floor where the vanity meets the floor next to the toilet, the sensor in the closet would work when it wanted to which wasnt often and there were odd black and grey scuff marks on the ceiling by the closet in the entry way.I have been here a few times with friends and I have never had a problem. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful but this time I feel like once they saw that I used points for my room they couldnt care less. This was supposed to be a great night for my husbands birthday but unfortunately I couldnt enjoy it because I was so frustrated.Stay away from room 416
I have stayed at the St Regis New York multiple times since its refurbishment and I have only positive things to say. The hotel is perfectly situated to walk to many restaurants and museums. The hotel itself is beautiful in the way that only having stayed true to its vintage architecture can offer: graceful, elegant, beautifully proportioned rooms so tastefully decorated. The rooms themselves are quite spacious, the beds extremely comfortable, the bathrooms enormous with separate showers and enclosed toilets. The staff and service are impeccable . Turndown in the evening is timely and the rooms are made up promptly in the morning. Breakfast offerings are varied and excellent. The platinum breakfast for SPG members has the best granola and yogurt Ive had in a long time. All of this comes at a price that, while high, is quite in line with the NYC luxury market and quite a bit off the highest end. The concierge team has consistently done a remarkable job for us in securing seats to sold out performances. Their general recommendations regarding restaurants have always been spot on. I could go on for pages singing the praises of the St Regis NY. Let me say in closing that I will continue to return several times a year and I will stay nowhere else in NYC.
I had a fabulous time at the St. Regis in NYC. The downside was that it was a late check-in 4:30 and the luggage did not arrive in the room until almost 5 resulting in our missing a cocktail party. We were surprised to be charged a $50 resort fee. The hotel did provide amenities for the $50 resort fee but we probably wouldnt have used the amenities if we were not charged the $50 and trying to take advantage for this extra fee.Overall the hotel is fabulous and I would return.
Our stay at The St Regis was by far one of my best experiences in New York. The staff (except the restaurant server) was amazing. John D in room service went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and he provided excellent customer service. Because of him and his other night time counter part I look forward to returning soon!If you’re looking for relaxation, pampering and central location this is your hotel.
We are loyal customers of this luxury hotel but since they merged with Marriott, they have become not as special. There is a daily destination fee of $50 plus tax per day which is imposed upon each guest. We were not told about this fee until check out time.As a loyal SPG member, we were always granted late check out of anywhere between 2 - 4 pm at no extra charge. We were now told that anything past 12 noon would incur a fee.Such a luxury hotel should not stoop to nickel and diming, since their high rates should already include these amenities.
Although the Hotel was almost completely sold out, the service was just outstanding as it always has been for me. The front desk manager Melanie gave us beautiful rooms, checked up on my family during our stay and seemed to maintain a calmness at the front desk for all guests during a very busy time. Our Butlers, including Pavel, handled valet needs, drink requests, and morning coffee perfectly. An advance call on our check in day to Joseph got our rooms ready for an early check in which was greatly appreciated.Extra thanks to Mathieu who help retrieved one of our cell phones that we left in the room while we were sitting in a limo after our check out.It was a pleasure to use the new gym on the 19th floor . The aerobic equipment is all brand new and are connected to the internet. It is just a joy to visit this hotel.
After staying at numerous Luxury Collection hotels including St. Regis properties around the world, this was our first time at the flagship St. Regis in New York. Upon arrival from the airport, we were personally greeted curbside by the General Manager, Manuel, and Pedro the Front Office Director. They said they were honored to have us stay at their property and escorted us into the hotel. We went straight to the 17th floor and they turned us over to our St. Regis Butler Emina who showed us to an upgraded suite. The suite was elegant, meticulously clean and had the old world feel of luxury with just the right touch of modern amenities. Upon returning from dinner late the first night, there was a handwritten welcome note from the GM Manuel and a beautiful display of chocolate and champagne, Each night, there were home made chocolate chip cookies and ice cold water (my personal vices) that they would have never known unless they had taken the time to read my SPG profile preferences. The hotel internet worked like a charm, something that is very important. The hotel is within walking distance to Central Park, Time Square and the main avenues of NYC. A taxi or the Subway and you are anywhere else in no time. During our stay at the hotel, there were some other high profile celebrity guests that we ran into in the elevators - not realty show types...but respected celebrities. But never once, did we feel we were being treated any less than those celebrity guests. the staff always greeted us by name and ensured our needs were attended to. Honestly, we felt like royalty the whole time and can not find one thing lacking in regard to the hotel, rooms, service or other. I am proud to be a loyal member of SPG and to have chosen the St. Regis New York. We will be back soon for another amazing trip.
There seemed to be several elements missing from this stay, starting with the absence of any bellhop outside to assist with luggage. Upon check-in, the front desk told me to expect my butler to meet me upstairs. The butler not only didnt meet me, but never responded to any pages and I didnt see or hear from any butler the entire duration of the stay.Ive stayed at this location a few times and my past experience is they never deliver the right newspaper to the room. This stay was no exception. Despite the plethora of newspaper choices one is given at check-in, the actual paper that shows up on the door appears to be luck of the draw. The room service was also disappointing, They appear to be unaware of whats on their own menu. For example, the Spa Breakfast according to the menu is to include French press coffee, but what actually arrives is regular brewed coffee. (This was particularly a sour point because part of the reason I was trying to raise the butler on the night of my arrival was to ask for French press coffee, so when I ordered it as part of a breakfast and it doesnt arrive, this only adds to the annoyance). The staff seemed bewildered when I mentioned this point about the French press coffee, and amazingly, they continued to insist that the Spa Breakfast normally comes with brewed coffee even after I showed them my room service menu. All in all, the hotel itself is nice. Nicely appointed rooms, adjustable lighting, music, awesome shower, plenty of space, and an amazing restaurant. However, the service quality put a big damper on this particular visit and I hope this is not indicative of a trend. Honestly, I could have gotten better service at the W or Westin properties not too far away.
We spent 4 nights at the St Regis NY with my family in a Madison Suite which accommodated us really comfortably. The staff was amazingly helpful and nice to the children especially as it was over Christmas time and the hotel was super busy. Our butler was always available and helpful and we felt so welcomed. Special call out to the Concierge team; their helpfulness, kindness and passion to please was like a performing arts recital. These guys have perfected the concept of concierge support. Well done!
My wife and I could not have enjoyed a finer stay while celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. Every member of the hotel staff was very warm and welcoming. It will also be very hard to match the wonderful upgrade to a suite that was offered to make our stay even that much more memorable. We are very thankful.
The Asian lady at the front desk was very friendly(smile all the time) recognized me form the previous stay. She got me a room upgrade to suite. The room is very nice and clean, I can see the fifth street through the window. The bedding is very comfortable. Moreover, The food in St. Regis is very delicious. Very recommend!
We were spoiled from the moment of check in. Our upgraded room was beyond our expectations and gave us an experience we wont soon forget. The food and cocktails at Astor Court were not only delicious, but beautifully presented. The St. Regis certainly knows how to spoil its patrons.
We always love our time at the St. Regis. The staff is terrific, we want to work out, and the techno gym workout room exceeds our expectations. My husband is Starwood Platinum Forever, so we use our points option to have breakfast there. We wish the menu gave the option to not charge separately for yogurt and fruit with oatmeal and other cereal choices because that is what we normally use at home, and having eggs daily with a six night stay is not a great idea. The butler service is lovely. Great walking distance to almost everything, plus easy access to subways. Plus, the Bentley option to get places is over the top.,
I came with my mom, sister, & daughter to celebrate my moms bday. We got an upgrade on our room to a suite. The suite was amazing! It was very clean. The bed was so luxurious and comfortable. The staff was very professional and the restaurant staff was very attentive to our needs. The location of the hotel is perfect. Right on 5th avenue and short walk to Central Park. Thank you st Regis for making our stay so memorable. We were well pampered!!
My wife and I stayed here last evening as a stopover before heading to Croatia. After our experience last evening, we thought about extending our trip a few days to enjoy further, the service and beautiful hotel room to which we were upgraded. I posted a review on Trip Advisor when we stayed here in February as we always do for the Westminster Dog Show, mentioning the great service we received. After being warmly greeted for our one night return and receiving recognition from employees, some of whom have been at the hotel for 20 years, I cant imagine we will stay anywhere else when visiting the City as we do a few times each year. There are many great hotels in NYC, and we are pleased to have found this one.

2022-03-18Absolutely gorgeous hotel with an incredible staff. If you can, book a room on floor 7 because Nestor is the best! He is charming and very helpful. Out of the places Ive visited, whether it be a hotel or restaurant or store, I have never been so impressed with someones care for their customer. That guy deserves ALL the raises! Bathtub was huge and so relaxing after so much walking. Breakfast was delicious and one American breakfast is enough to feed three adults! Overall, I would recommend this hotel and plan to return the next time Im in the city.

2022-06-28Just okay hotel, but the marketing and price point leads you to expect a better than just okay experience. The hotel is dated and lacks some of the modern touches newer hotels have. The Bentley fleet has been replaced with a single Mercedes. The hospitality is on par with any mid-range hotel. I ended up switching to the Mandarin Oriental after the first night, and the contrast in hospitality, quality of venue, and overall experience was dramatic. If you’re looking for top notch service and a stunning view with epic rooms, I Mandarin Oriental is where it’s at. It’s not far from St. Regis and for the same price you get an amazing room.

2022-02-15Had an absolutely lovely experience there this weekend. The hotel goes out of its way to make you feel relaxed, taken care of and truly comfortable. It was a wonderful anniversary weekend and I cant wait to stay there again. In a perfect world, the fitness center would have a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool, but realizing its a historic building by Central Park, be mindful that the fitness center is merely a room with exercise equipment. But thats obviously a minor observation...

2022-02-08I probably wouldnt spend the $$ to stay here again. The good: Front desk, concierge and front door service are SUPERB. Great room service breakfast. The OK: Rooms are nice and spacious, especially for NYC.The not so good: Rooms have no view, which for me is important in NYC. Butler service is more awkward than helpful.Bottom line: Maybe fun to do once, but unless using points, probably not worth the price.

2022-06-07I am sure the hotel is wonderful. After booking this hotel, our family got Covid and was unable to travel. You would think that would be an acceptable reason for cancelling a trip. However, the manager, Suzanne, said we could not cancel the trip and instead stuck us with a $1,500 bill. As a long time Marriott points user, this is pretty disappointing.

2022-06-07When I arrived at The St Regis it took over 30 minutes to check in. Why? Because several people in front of me were complaining about being overcharged for room service. Here is my 3 day good and bad experience;1. Bellman and doorman are exceptionally nice and helpful.2. Rooms are nice as they should be at close to $1500 (with taxes) per night.3. Butler service is awful and awkward. They really do nothing for you except bring coffee and iron a pair of pants. Coffee was supposeto be complimentary but they charged me $56.25 a day for a cup of coffee.4. Room service is very responsive but once again was overcharged on bill. Menu said $19 for kids pancakes, they charged $40 plus $8service plus $5 in taxes ($53) When I complained at check out, Thomas said with an insincere smile “It’s the St.Regis”.5. I was overcharged several hundred dollars at check out (I usually never check out of a hotel,I just leave) and they refused to remove charges.Over the course of three days, I witnessed multiple customers having problems with being overcharged on bill.I believe this hotel is dishonest. I’ve been staying at 5 star hotels for 40 years and can’t recall being overcharged on a bill EVER!Here I was overcharged at least 5 times!I don’t believe the other 5 star ratings posted are real. This location of the St Regis is scamming customers.

2022-05-25The St Regis New York is one of the special hotels in NYC. We were lucky enough to get married at this hotel many years ago and try to go back every year in October during our anniversary weekend to have lunch at Astor Court or a drink at the King Cole bar. You can not beat the location and the service at this hotel. The only thing missing is a high-end restaurant within but fortunately enough there are tons of great spots all around the area. This hotel along with the Peninsula across the street and the Mandarin Oriental are my favorite hotels in NYC.

2022-02-25Despite a few room issues (qr code links didnt work, in-room dining button didnt work on one of the phones, the bath tub tray was broken in one of the bathrooms), I highly, HIGHLY, recommend staying here. the service is second to none. everyone went out of their way to ensure my 7 year old and I had the best stay. we visit NYC multiple times a year and have agreed we will make the St Regis one of our usual spots

2022-05-02Wanted to come back and love it again but was a real miss this time. Will be staying with the superior Park Hyatt from now on and would recommend others do the same.Hyatt globalist is treated far better then Marriott titanium. This whole experience was a stressful mess on what was supposed to be a relaxing celebratory trip.
