The Standard, High Line in New York
Stunning view! We stayed in a suite with a tub in front of an amazing skyline. Room was spacious (as it should’ve been for the price). Only small issue was appliance knobs falling off on the bathtub/sink/and shower. Small fixes, also beware the floor will be soaked when you shower. Not a big deal we just wasted a lot of towels to dry it off. All in all the venue is gorgeous, aesthetically pleasing, front desk and bell staff amazing, view top tier, restaurant Instagram perfect, location a little off the grid but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
*** Update: rooms themselves are comfortable especially for New York, but still … if you’re ready to party, okay, might be right for you. Management acknowledged after changing room the next day any apologized, and also brought up a bottle of wine. Very thoughtful, but still, this property is very bass heavy from the ground floor to the roof. If you’re looking for real rest, beware.Traveler beware: Im stuck in a room on the 17th floor of The Standard, and its right below the club on the 18th floor. If you like thumping a basketball on your head while you try to sleep, good luck; just spoke with the front desk and theyll keep pumping that noise until 4:00 am with no chance of switching rooms. This is the first hotel Ive ever checked into that has a package of earplugs among the bathroom amenities. On top of that, while I was speaking with the woman at the front desk, a fight broke out outside my room. At least security seems to be responsive. On the road working, and this is not going to get us any rest any time soon. The Standard should choose between being a place of cool rest and relaxation, or a coked-out dance party. Supposed to stay here through Sunday, but no way can that happen if we cant change rooms to a lower floor tomorrow.I really was looking forward to staying here and getting some descent rest after long days of work travel. Not happening.- Stuck On The Loudest Hotel Floor Ever
At best, a pretentious and jumped up hostel. Not a hotel worthy of 4 stars. The noise from the club is unbearable and staff were unapologetic for this. Staff were unhelpful and rude. Rooms lack basic facilities such as a coffee machine. Room service was very slow. Rooms were generally clean but overall shabby and worn with a strong smell of weed/smoke.
Im so disappointed and disillusioned! We are trying to have our wedding party book rooms there (100 people) and its one disaster after another. They are terrible at customer service and the more upset we get, the snottier they respond. We are basically calling our guests now and asking them if they mind us booking a different hotel for a week. So embarrassing! I guess with covid the hotel cant find good staff, but there should be some minimum standard.
Editing my review because the manager made such a big effort to make the stay better after a rough first night.Tldr. Anything above floor 13 is super loud because of the nightclub on the roof. Like very very techno your room will shake and they give you earplugs loud. But the staff is fully aware of this and will try and accommodate a move if you vocalize it which was helpful, so i moved down from 17th to 10th on the second day which helped a ton. I just wish I knew when booking.I think the rooms are a great size and the location is amazing. The nightclub on roof thing though … they should just not 💀
We spent Easter weekend here for our 10th year anniversary celebration. I booked the hotel months in advance. I saved up and wanted to have a lavish no expense spared weekend. Upon arrival I was impressed with the decor and architecture. The lobby is very swanky and modern. Front desk clerk was kind and quickly issued our keys and gave us a lowdown on the area. Smooth transition after walking the highline to get to the hotel.Hotel is located in the meatpacking district and an affluent area. It has easy access to beautiful parks on the harbor, shopping, and bars. The subway is about 2-3 blocks away.Hotel room was modern and gorgeous. We purchased the bubbles package and there was champagne waiting for us in the room. There is a loaded mini bar in the room that we didnt use. It has snacks, medicine, liquor and glasses. The tub was HUGE and amazing. We both fit in it just fine and enjoyed champagne and used bathbombs to soak in from Lush. As i am writing this and checking the details of the Go big for bubbles we were supposed to receive a 30.00 credit for drinks at the hotel. We received no such voucher or credit upon check in or during our bill at the Standard Grill. So loss of a star for that detail. We also reserved a drag brunch seat for Saturdays Snatched event. We had food and several drinks before and during the show. Our wait staff was amazing and recommended the best drinks. We werent happy with the food we received avocado toast and a tartine toast with blood orange on it. I wasnt particularly fond of the menu, likely because Im not used to such lavish food choices. It wasnt that the food was bad, we just didnt care for the new dishes we tried. We let the waiter know and he offered to replace but we preferred to just drink and enjoy the show at that point. The dozen roses, Penny Drop, Blind Tiger were all superb cocktails. They werent super heavy on the booze but well balanced and enjoyable which was perfect for brunch. We tried to check out the beirgarden but it wasnt clear how to purchase a beer. We walked in and the ticket booth was not attended and the person checking our ID didnt explain how it worked. We waited in line at a bar for abour 8 minutes and decided to leave due to confusion, slow service, and how busy it was. We went next door to BB Burger & Brass Monkey and had the best cheeseburger ive ever had in my life. Highly recommend.Sleeping at night; The hotel pillows are made of down and are not well packed. If you like longer loose pillows that will make your head fall between them this is your jam. The bed is lower to the floor like Ikea style and the mattress comfy. The bed in our room was against the shower/bath window.Lets talk about the soundproofing in the room now. Generally, acoustics is a very tricky thing to perfect in architecture, especially with large scale hotels. So each night when we were heading to bed around midnight there was a loud music source. The standard provides a speaker in the room and its super great. I thought it was from perhaps some people jamming in the echo chamber of the highline below and chalked it off to NYC living. However, when i woke up at 2:00 am and checked the area from the window it was empty. It wasnt until my last night there did we realize it was someones speaker blasting music. That night music sounded like chillhop and continued from 11:00 pm to 6 am straight. I went to sleep and woke up at 4:00 am trying to determine where the loud noise was coming from. I could not go back to sleep and i was very tired the following day. So for a 500.00 a night stay, I expect a nice quiet sleep with minimal noise and we never received that. We didnt know where it was coming from until it was too late to do anything.Overall, this was a high quality experience but a tad below the experience youd expect for top dollar hotel. Highly recommend for a getaway to splurge or celebrate an occasion. Very modern and different then other hotels.
Needs some upkeep/TLC (scuff marks everywhere, in need of touch-up paint and caulking, better quality fixtures). Bathtub was gross (lots of dirt/scum) and wouldnt plug up properly to take a bath. Customer service is lacking. I get the vibe theyre going for, but feels like a cruise ship cabin.
Every time I come to NYC standard hotel is my favorite stop feeling home , the employees of standard high lines makes me feel incredible and try their best to make better by stay here. The front desk time Bryan and Martha are fantastic also George the security guy who is always nice with me!!!!!
Enthusiastic recommendation.Just returned from 3 night stay at The Standard Highline in NYC. Celebrated my 65th birthday and what a great place !You gotta stay here for many reasons.Of course number 1 is location (I’ll only write it once instead of x3 ) … you are near everything that counts in the West Village.Number 2-infinity… is that this hotel is perfect. Seriously. It’s perfect. You may read that the rooms are small. So what. It’s NYC. I live in a 5000 sq. ft. house and I was very comfortable in our 250 sq. ft. room. Superior King facing the Empire State Building was great. Like right there. The staff are so accommodating that I felt like I knew them after one encounter. The gym and the view is outstanding. Go there even if you don’t workout.Visit Village Pizza. Pastis. And walk.Thank you Christian and everyone else. You all did a great job.And thanks for the Prosecco. That’s not why I wrote a raving review.
Meh, we booked a room overlooking the water and were placed on the 16th floor. Unfortunately we were not informed there was not a rooftop bar, but a rooftop club on the 18th floor and the restrooms for the club are on the 17th floor. So if thumping bass reverberating through your room at 2 a.m. mixed with the sound of swoosh as toilets flush every 30 seconds or so, then this is your vibe. We had additional guests on the 14th floor that also heard the music just to give a sense of the volume level. At 2.am. We finally gave up, called the front desk and they promptly relocated us to the 7th floor. From then on, things were fine.Probably my last time here. Better options in NYC for the price point
I stayed at The Standard a couple of days ago. The place is really nice. My favorite features of the room were the view to the city, 70s style minimal decoration, mirrors, bathtub and comfortable robes. I also loved the media display in their elevators. Made me think of NFTs galleries. My experience was going very well overall, until the night came and we requested room service. For a Hotel like The Standard you would think they would have higher than standard service. Yet, this was not the case. The front desk person answering our call was very rude. They did not want to help us. We asked for two plates. Thats all. They told us we could go downstairs and get it ourselves, all of this with a non so friendly attitude. I have stayed in so many hotels in different cities and countries, yet, I had never had this experience before. I know NY is a tough city, but, really? Unfortunately, due to this incident we did not feel comfortable anymore. We left the next day feeling unwelcome. Being part of the LGTBQ+ community is not easy when traveling, I always have to be on high alert because you never know who you will encounter, but usually hotels tend to be accommodating and helpful to travelers. I really hope this is not an issue of discrimination, but it is something I need to bring up to other travelers from this community.
I wanted to give this hotel a shot even though I have status with larger brands. Huge regret, wish I could give less than one star. The hotel is horribly maintained with stained carpets and broken/uneven tiles. The cleaning service is just as bad with hair all over the bathroom right at check-in. The condition was so bad I didn’t even stay my second night, even though it was already paid for. Stay anywhere else, I promise, you’ll thank me.
The Hotel is a real money-factory so be ready to pay extra fees for everything except breathing (yet) . Right rooms (therefore, more pricy) have amazing views. Size is average for NYC (so, small), bathtub is great and maintenance could be improved (sound of pipes and heating in the night can be annoying) . However, be ready to pay a $7 FEE for Room Service (astonishing when you pay more than $400/room. Actually, rather greedy), a Facility Fee of $30, a contribution to the Highhiline, another $2 and be VERY careful when connecting to internet as you can easily make the mistake to Accept the High Speed Service and get another $20 (plus taxes)... In brief, nice views but a rather greedy management exploiting (to the maximum) its location. You rather go to the roof top to get a drink and enjoy the view and sleep somewhere else in the area where value for money is better.
You can stay in standard hotel, with good room quality ! But do not expecting RESPECT or WELCOMING from staff !! They totally forget what mean to be HOSPITALITY ! You need to queue at the Bain no fast track for hotel guest ! to going up or waiting to going down more than 30minutes ! If you want anything ! Room service or mixed orange and carrot juice answer is « I’m sorry we can not ! But I can order 2 juice ! » very expensive hotel for 0 service ! Or to make a reservation for the Sunday brunch at the front desk ! « Go to standard drill desk » at the standar dril desk we should apologize to make a reservations because we don’t specify which brunch. The only 2 good point very good and fun the Biergarten and bartender at the Bain when you are up ! » we pay 500$ each night.I do not recommend this hotel. Find a nice one and enjoy the Bain as outside guest !Clément V.
Well how can I explain this review. This is the first time I am really disappointed with a hotel.I perfected my skills as a dam builder. The water from the shower flowed away from the drain so I took some towels and built a dam so the water went away. Since I was standing in a small lake when I wanted to use the sink. When I walked into the hotel I looked around for the fish market. None in sight. That smell lingered around the whole day.Everything needs a little refresh. Apart from the view.Hopefully not all the rooms are like this.Oh and the last thing. Bring earplugs. The bar is very loud.
I have stayed here at least 4 times but faced some noise issues.Because of the club on the top floor and the clubs in the neighborhoods, Lowe level rooms in the river view side can be noisy. I stayed on the 5th floor and I was able to hear the outside music until 2am. I once stayed up on the 11th or 12th floor and I had to ask them to switch the room to the lower level so that it is not noisy at night. You can also hear other rooms water usage depending on which room you are in. (I was able to hear it in one of the queen size room room 516 with a river view) It is a nice and trendy hotel with a great location for sure but it can be a bit noisy at times. When I asked to change rooms they accommodated but it didnt necessarily feel like they were going above and beyond to make up for the discomfort.I would still come back given how nicely located the hotel is, but I would be picky on the room choice.
Great hotel that lives up to its reputation for fun and flair. The rooms are a great size for NYC accommodations with a work station, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was included in the stay and is offered at the Standard Grill downstairs every morning, which was one of the best hotel continental breakfasts I’ve seen in the US. The hotel gym is very clean and features sweeping views of the city and is probably one of the best views you’ll get from the hotel, besides Le Bain on the roof or having a top suite.
Last time I got a room at the Standard it was last minute and the front desk staff was beyond accommodating. They allowed me to check-in extremely early as the room was ready and available and didn’t charge me extra or a day rate which was very generous. I’ve never had a bad thing to say about the hotel. From the corner King rooms with the bathtubs in the windows down to the basic standard Standard room, great!
Great views and friendly service. The rooms have fantastic interior designs but the bedding, carpet, chairs and other surfaces are heavily stained, scratched and worn out or broken. This place is supposedly meant to be a 4 star hotel but due to wear and tear it surely feels like a humble 3 star
I was able to check-in online ahead of time, so getting into my room was the quickest and easiest that i’ve experienced. we were just going to drop off our bags until it was time to check-in as it was only noon, but the front desk employee upgraded my room and got me settled right then and there.the view was beautiful, the room was trendy, and the tub was incredible! i will definitely stay here again!
We stayed here for my birthday. Overall 4 stars experience. The drainer of our bathtub wasn’t working properly which became very annoying as we couldn’t enjoy the bath. Room is small but it’s NYC so understandable. Very clean. Pretty quite, great view to see Whitney, high line, and Little island. We ordered room service breakfast. The food was okay but it came fast.
Stayed there 3 nights for business. Design and accommodation is a 5* (and stunning views) however service more like a 3*. Not that the team is unfriendly at all, they are simply not super helpful. Each action at the desk takes ages, they don’t call taxis -what hotel on earth doesn’t have a taxi contact number??- and, the most annoying, you have to book a table for breakfast. One morning I couldn’t even have one as it was full. You can stay there but expect a service that would be considered decent in Paris, although not in NYC
Rooms are small and noisyUnfortunately I didnt have a positive experience. I was here for work for a total of 9 nights and 2 of them were completely sleepless because of the unbearable noise. The first night the noise was coming from the club downstairs which went on until 4am, then I moved to a room facing the opposite and quieter side; the second night, the new room had some weird super loud noise coming from the restroom (it turned out to be cavitation from a broken valve they hadnt repaired) and had to move again to a different room. When I moved I was downgraded but didnt get a refund for the price difference (the management did give me one night off but only after I called and complained). There are also good things about this hotel (location and in-room service food quality being the main ones) but unfortunately they were overshadowed by the awful experience I had with excessive noise.
Amazingly nice staff, unique decor, and the room service was luxurious and tasty. I got the exact Corner King room that I requested for, and when check-in for the room was taking a little too long, the front desk immediately offered me a room credit. which I really appreciated. The views were also great and I spent time just looking out at the city, and I feel like the hotel and room would be perfect for a romantic getaway. My only concern was that the shower didnt have effective drainage, and if I showeed longer than 2 minutes, water would go all over the entire bathroom floor, including near the sink, and I ended up having to kick the water over to the drain. However, Im not sure if thats a problem with all rooms or just the drain that was in my room. Either way, I would stay here again!
At once futuristic and retro, The Standard almost feels like a scene out of The Jetsons, with mid-century-inspired furniture and lighting, all in a blocky concrete hulk that seems to float above the High Line in the Meatpacking District. Even if you arent big on working out, check out the 17th-floor gym for sweeping Hudson River views. And if youre a night owl, head up to Le Bain, the penthouse discotheque and bar, for even better scenery and live DJs. The views are perhaps the most dramatic youll find in downtown, and the location—in walking distance from the Whitney and Chelsea galleries—is ideal.
Honestly a really disappointing experience. Ive stayed here back in 2017 and was expecting a similar, positive time - was not the case. If youre in any of the upper floors, the music from Le Bain rooftop bar is thumping down at all night hours, and those rooms are slated for eventual design updates, but it felt dated, cramped, and cheap, especially for the prices paid. The hotel wasnt transparent about their fee structure, and I found incorrect charges on my bill (a voluntary donation to the High Line - yeah, ok...) that I had to call and correct. Furthermore, the TVs advertise the ability to airplay, but cant airplay any kind of streaming service - Netflix, HBO, Hulu, etc. - when I called and asked the front desk what COULD be airplayed, they said nothing, really, due to licensing issues. So more false advertising. Will not be staying here again.
The front desk is one of the rudest and least helpful I’ve experienced every time I stay here . They do not go above and beyond let alone try to be mildly helpful. The food is mediocre if they remember to bring your whole order. Beds are low to the floor and bedding isn’t great . Room is VERY small.
So shower and washing sink are in the same location and because we inevitably take shower the floor is always wet. So if I want to just wash my hands I have to stand on the wet floor. Also paying $500 and tiny tiny tiny basic toilet is also questionable. WiFi is super slow, and they want me to pay $16 a day to upgrade it. The room is only so so - and night club music sounds are always there. I would not stay here again.
Had such a good stay here. Rooms are on the smaller side but great for NYC. Shower is amazing, service could be a bit better especially when you let them know you are there for a special occasion. The hotel is pet friendly and doesn’t charge for a dog which is great, they even give you a dog bed and a bowl in your room - nice touch! While staying here it was my birthday and got engaged, it’s a great location for a celebration. The high line is steps away, restaurants in the area are good. I recommend Serefina and Pastis, both around the corner. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
In my opinion Its definitely a place for couples or people who are very open/comfortable with each other or solo. The toilet is the only place that has a door. Other than your actual room door. The shower/bath tub doesnt have doors or any type of curtain and has a window on the one side. I loved it cuz I was able to take a bath and just look out to the water and just relax. The hotel is neat all around and clean.
The hotel decorations is very attractive, but me and my husband were trying to have a romantic date night and it didn’t happen.First, we had a problem with the bathtub, the piece that closes the drain wasn’t attached, we called downstairs and they said they would send someone to fix it. It took a while and I ended up fixing it my self.Second, the bathtub tap was dripping all night and my husband couldn’t sleep. And third, I went downstairs to have breakfast at the restaurant and I found a hair in my avocado toast. The room was a lot of money and all of that ruined our night!
Have stayed in many other hotels that were better for the same sticker. Advantage is the location and the open views out to Hudson if you pay a premium of wider views of the city. The accommodation itself is fine if not amazing and done in a minimalist manner. The bed is low but comfortable. The noise level is probably lower than most city hotels but definitely some sleepers will have a hard time. The gym only has running machines with free weights and a single machine to do cross training that is not the easiest to use. The one noteworthy thing is the daily housekeeping which was definitely top notch. The front desk reception was very helpful too. Didnt try the hotel restaurants as there are some excellent popular options in the vicinity like Serafina, dos comings, pastis etc.
If you’re looking for a beautiful property right in the heart of NY city, then look no further. There room accommodations and dinning outlets are amazing. I’d like to personally recognize Amanda Dsouca and her team for their warm hospitality. A hotel is only as strong as their leadership and Amanda and her team set the bar very high. Thank you!
Broken bath tub with dripping flaucet that ran the entire night. That bath tub was the only reason we booked the room. Hair and bodily pieces found in food service items, mini bar fridge had stale and flat items. On top of items already being opened. It was overall one of the most expensive ripoffs I’ve ever had at a hotel. For the price you pay, and for not one positive to come out of the night is tough to do. But the standard found a way to mess it up in every aspect. Save yourself $250 a night and go stay elsewhere. Learn from my mistakes.
Check in was easy. Staff in the lobby were nice and welcoming. The room was clean, which was a priority for me during covid, including the peek a boo shower window. The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants, stores, and bars. Little island is right across the street as well. Great experience.
Nice hotel enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views and very friendly staff. Excellent location and nice amenities (beer garden, good restaurant, rooftop). Comfy beds! Best of all- very clean! They had no problem with our early check in and had plenty of recommendations for our stay. Will come again!
Skip the Standard! Such a beautiful building and incredible location, what could go wrong? A lot! I checked in and got to my Hudson Corner Room and was all around disappointed. Picture a beautifully designed room, with absolutely zero upkeep. There are scratches, scuffs, stains, and dings all over the room. An occasional scuff here and there is absolutely fine and understandable, but this room felt absolutely dingy. My curtains had holes in it, couch had stains on it, bathroom sink didn’t drain, and the ceiling somehow had streaky stains on it?? I’ve included photos below. Don’t let the location and super cute website tempt you! The standard is NOT worth the price! The nearby Equinox hotel, or my favorite in the city Mr.C Seaport have much nicer rooms at a fraction of the price!
Ranking this with 4 stars is very generous, but trying to be fair, and comparing this hotel to other NYC hotels with a similar price. By no means, this is not the same caliber as W or other high end hotels, but it has some unique qualities. The hotel’s location is the main reason I chose to stay here. You can do a lot by walking. There are so many things to do day and night, in a walkable distance. Check in lobby was small with 2 staff behind the counter. Polite staff from a cleaning person, to front desk. The room was good. Love the windows from floor to ceiling, very dramatic. The most awesome bath tub, almost as good as the one in W. Koh Samui. The bathroom is the best part of the roomThe bar and fridge were well stocked. Furniture and TV need some help.Lighting was well thought out, and the AC was cold.Overall, I stayed because of the location. If not for the location, I would have given it 3 stars. I would stay here again.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I chose your hotel for a unique experience and what I received was a dirty lobby, clueless staff, a bar (Le Scaf)with a leaking roof (and unable to use), and a rooftop bar that we were unable to go to WHEN THE WEBSITE CLEARLY STATES AVAILABLE TO HOTEL GUESTS AFTER 10PM. It was such a let down. Oh yea not to mention, the shop IN THE HOTEL was closed and of your bars (The TOP of the Standard) IN THE HOTEL was closed. A horrible experience.
My husband and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a little staycation here and it was amazing ! We loved our room such a great view fully stocked snacks and beverages everything was clean. The only thing was there was no iron or ironing board in our room for some reason and the bathtub couldn’t lock to hold the water for a bath. But overall the whole aesthetic and vibe of the hotel was just amazing and the customer service. Also Ms. Brine(hope I spelled her name correctly) at the front desk was a total sweetheart and so helpful she’s amazing! We will be coming back again for sure and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a short or long stay.
AMAZING STAY. Came in for the weekend and loved the hotel. Special thanks to Mandee at the front desk who checked us in! She was a sweetheart. Highly highly recommend the Hudson suite room. The floor to ceiling windows and river view are unparalleled 😮. Can’t beat taking a bath watching the sunset!
Update: A big shout out to the staff, they helped us find the Nintendo Switch left in the room after we checked out! Really appreciate their help!Original review:Pro: great view, if your windows are facing the riverCon: this is a dynamic neighborhood with a lot of bars, and sometimes the lobby can also get noisy or crowded. The rooms should be fine if they’re at high floors. If you’re looking for a very quiet hotel with quiet surroundings, then you may want to choose elsewhere. If you’re looking to have some beer and chill with a group of friends then this is a pretty good place
I stayed @The Standard for a weekend and had a awesome time!!! The front desk workers Amahl and Christina were the best!!! They help me transfer my reservation to The Standard Highline hotel!!! They got me corner King room with beautiful views of NYC!!! Five Stars service!!!
Okay experience overall, could use better front desk service. The design of the space is okay, they do really good commercial photoshoots of the space. When I stay in my room in the afternoon, I hear the staff talking in the hallway clearly. Could get a better hotel with the same price range.
Nice facility, heat lamps, they show some great movies from DVDs (not projected films). Food is generally good, but very expensive. Their tasty burger cost $28. Their Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse was kind of a cake with weird tasting fruit drizzle - some chefs experiment that didnt work.
Amazing hotel. Rooms have amazing views of the Hudson and downtown Manhattan skyline .. check in online was a breeze and when we arrived - Miss Brinn was super helpful in getting us into our room. There are two restaurants onsite and a rooftop bar. Location is convenient to Chelsea Market; the high line, and the Whitney museum.
This is a super pet friendly hotel! When we arrived in our room, we found a clean dog bow and a cosy dog bed waiting for us! ♥️ You can also get some free dog treats at the reception. The restaurant has an external area were dogs are welcome, so you can have breakfast/brunch next to your pooch. 🐶 The view from the bedroom is astonishing! One weird thing is that theres no light in the shower/bath room. If you drop anything there, you may need a flashlight to find. 😅🔦 Be aware that the breakfast vouchers can only be used for the complimentary/continental breakfast served from 7-11am. They are not valid for the weekend brunch, so we lost $40 for buying them in advance. 💸
We got the standard King room and it was so beautiful. The view was amazing. The room was designed for 2 love birds Im sure of it. It was also very clean and stocked with beverages and snacks in case you werent planning on leaving. Also room service was only a call away. The elevator only allowed 4 persons at a time and there were sanitizer stations at every elevator front. The front desk staff were very very friendly and answered any questions I had. I didnt want to leave but I will most likely go back.
Very nice but the room was very small. Its a trendy upscale spot. The bed was really low but not uncomfortably so. The room was very clean. There was a shower that was really narrow and seemed made for one but the water pressure was amazing. There was also a deep bath tub that would fit 2. The toilet was on the opposite side of the room. There was a really beautiful view of the river outside. There wasnt any toothpaste but there was shower grooming supplies.
Although I loved the room and view, I was not satisfied with the food service and provisions. We ordered the steak frites two separate times during our stay. The first time, the fries were excessively drenched in oil. The second time, the steak was dry and rubbery. Considering the meal was not cheap by any means, we were highly disappointed. The TV is also not a smart TV which was inconvenient. They do have airplay so you have to connect on your phone but Netflix does not work on airplay. The snacks in the mini bar and the beverages are severely overpriced and quite a rip off. Our room did not have a price list of the mini bar so I naively helped myself to some snacks and water thinking the price would be reasonable, only to later find out that the water was $7 each. Besides the unpleasant food and mini bar situation, we did love the room itself. The bed was comfortable, the view was amazing, the shower was fun and the vibe of the room was lovely.
I was elated to stay at this lovely hotel. I later found out that the excitement was not In vein.I stayed in the Corner King with a river view for two nights. The room was well-kept and stylish. The room comes with a mini bar, safe, tv, fridge, and Bluetooth speaker. The bed was very comfortable although I am accustomed to higher bed frames. The view was spectacular. You truly feel like royalty wall to wall windows. They also had a seating area for guests which I found strategical. The shower and toilet are separately placed (smart move). Although I prefer a removable shower head, the shower waterfall was extremely relaxing. The elevator comes with music and visual entertainment to entertain the hotel Visitors. The robes and slippers were divine. The staff members from the kitchen, front desk, room service, and housekeeping were nothing short of hospitable and accommodating. please bear in mind that the hotel is often very busy so there will be times you are required wait on hold for the front desk to assist. You are in the heart of great restaurants (TAO, STK Rooftop, Catch Steak, Catch Seafood, 1 Oak, etc) and higher class stores like all saints and Tesla. I will certainly be returning!Tip: use spot hero for parking. I paid $50 for two night overnight parking at the local garage located at 161 10th avenue. Very convenient walking distance. But I love to walk so it’s completely up to your personal preference.
Wonderfully clean, bright, and intelligently designed hotel. Views are incredible, and the location is perfect. The only downsides revolve around loud and noisy guests at all hours of the night (not just weekends). I’ve been awoken by the sound of fights, karaoke sessions, loud TVs, etc all after 3 AM on several weeknights. However, I’m willing to overlook this in most cases because you really cannot find anything like The Standard anywhere else in NY.
I had a nice visit at the Standard. I stayed in the king deluxe room. The room was not exactly what I imagined from the pictures. My only issues were the refrigerator did not keep things cold, the toilet makes noises, and the shower does not come with a bright enough light.
Am just so happy to write my review ...doing it with a smile 😊 I have so enjoyed my stay. What a view from our window. We left our curtain open while sleeping and to my great surprised laying on my bed was one of the most spectacular thing I have ever seen in my life. Like a city came down from heaven, full of lights and was hanging between heaven and earth 🌍 My my my you have to see it to understand it and get the feeling 👏Love the bathtub...deep one and big enough to never miss a pool..not to forget the big beautiful mirror to get all dress up from head to toe in a glimpse 😊 Slept like a baby in my comfortable clean and fresh smelling bed 🛌. One thing for sure I have to visit again♥️
Some of the best staff I have encountered so helpful and kind! Additionally the room are incredible you feel right at home with the speaker and tv that pair right to your phone and a view of the water and overlooking the city! The one pointer is the Parking upon arrival is very unclear (they have a specific parking garage that will give you a discount) but we parked at a different ikon. They said if you park at any ikon you’ll be fine but that isn’t true the person at the garage said this happens all the time and we didn’t get the discount. Not the biggest deal we had planned on paying for parking anyway but it is a great feature to this hotel that should be utilized and advertised more!
This is a top notch hotel at a wonderful location above the high line. I simply stated upon reserving my room that our stay was for a special birthday celebration for my wife. Upon arrival, they wished my wife a happy birthday, they upgraded our room, and immediately sent up a bottle of champagne which we enjoyed looking over the expansive views of the Hudson River and Lower Manhattan. The room was as clean as you could ask, it was spacious, and had a wonderful walk in shower with a huge tub. My wife had been kind of down in the dumps but the staff at the Standard made her forget everything for the duration of our little getaway. Thank you to the staff of the Standard!!!!
Edit: 9/4/21 second stay back, much better experience. Their room service is always solid.I wanted to give 5 stars so badly. Pros: you can’t beat the view, great location, modern hotel, easy COVID check in.I do believe 2020/2021 is the year for locals and staycations. Hotels should really do their best to create a great relationship with the actual New Yorkers giving business.I came here for a birthday treat for myself and my cat (thank you standard for allowing him!) I got upgraded but in my honest opinion, they have the wiggle room to do so during this off season/COVID times. Nevertheless, I am thankful. The room was small as expected, didn’t really “feel” an upgrade. I was also dismayed the tub couldn’t provide hot water so I couldn’t take a bath. I saw that if you stated you were coming with a pet, they’d provide bowls for them. Well, there wasn’t any. I think they completely missed reading the Notes section of the reservation.Lastly, I’ve worked in customer service. I was a little dismayed they didn’t wish me a HBD upon checkin/out. It’s these little things that matter so much in customer service. I swear, it’s an unfortunate oversight. I’m not a princess and the fact they allowed pets was enough for me. The room service was awesome so really kudos to that! Being so near the Whitney was amazing as well.
Nice trendy hotel in a great location. The room is spacious, with an ENORMOUS bath tub. A shame there was no way to close it properly so the water wouldnt escape. Beautiful views and friendly staff. It also has a beer garden, a bar at the top of the hotel, and a rooftop nightclub, as well as a restaurant at the bottom. Worth a try!
Fun atmosphere, design and overall experience. The room and bathroom were a decent size and very clean. There are also good bar / restaurant options in the hotel as well.My only issue was the noise. I could hear other rooms around mine. Also, my room was right across from the service area, so I heard the door opening and closing constantly.
This hotel might have used to be nice, but the upkeep is extremely lacking. Definitely would find somewhere else to stayEnded up in 3 different rooms because of issues.2 of the rooms tubs wouldnt fill and one wouldnt drain without holding it there. All 3 of the different rooms tubs had parts that came off in my hands2 of the rooms had issues with the phones1 one of the rooms had a thermostat came off the wall when I pushed a button on it.Sheets had rips and tears in themFront desk had me on hold for over 15 minutes multiple times. I had to call them from my cell to actually get through from one of the rooms.
Nice place. No doubt.Unfortunately I went to the wrong restrooms (I didnt know it was closed).Justin, one of the managers was RUDE and NOT professional at all when he informed about my mistake.Maybe he should be RETRAINED or even better be in a different position at this great place.
I was upgraded to the highest room available, the staff has always been very friendly. The upgraded room, however was im serious need of some repairs. Shower flooded, the bar area had a huge bend in the middle, tub wouldnt drain, and rugs were pretty old. Overall, despite this one room, the building is beautiful, and has a fantastic location just off the West Side Hwy.
This is a great place in the city. The rooms are not large, however they are nice and modern. The bed was a queen and comfy. The shower was a rainfall shower and theres a massive tub. The toilet is in its own space, and the bathroom is beautiful black tile. The views are great as there are floor-to-ceiling windows. I would recommend this place.
I am overly nice when it comes to reviews in regards to businesses laid out like this hotel. The rooms are cool and the area is decent. However, try and deal with the staff. If you have a large group, they will treat you absolutely terrible. My group was perfectly fine paying what we paid, with that said theres a certain expectation with basic hotel concerns that this hotel did not care to adhere by. Why would they? We had to pay upfront. This was a wedding party and the staff really disheartened us on the first day. Our group made it work and we had a great time, despite some of the staff. Some tried to help but the terrible/unprofessional staff members outweighed the few good ones.
The Standard High Line is like staying in a club. Theres loud music late at night that you can hear in the windows -- they literally give you ear plugs for your stay. A dog barking woke us up at 6am (hotel is pet-friendly). When we checked in we were told to order way in advance if we wanted to actually get room service. Avoid if you are looking for hospitality. Would not go back.
What a hotel, this place rocks!A bit naughty but it’s really a amazing place! We got a free upgrade to a deluxe king which gives you a amazing view on the Hudson River!Waking up and looking at the Hudson River, New Jersey and the Freedom Tower. The room itself is very quiet and super comfortable beds. Thanks team of The Standard for making our anniversary so special with the champagne on the room (a gift from the hotel) and your nice card!We definitely come back and I can highly recommend this hotel!A big thank you for giving us a special weekend!
This is not the first time Ive been arriving, the level of the hotel and the services provided are consistently high. You rest assured that everything will be as it should be.Great location, great decoration, friendly staff. The choice of dishes for breakfast is not too large, but there is everything that is needed. We had dinner paid - every evening you can choose from two options of dishes, everything is very tasty. The room has everything you need. Spacious bathroom.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! I had the suite on the 15th floor totally awesome! The view is to die for. Check in was very easy and quick the suite wasnt ready when we got there but that didnt matter it was so much to do eat in the hotel alone! I mean the perfect spot. Now I read alot of reviews and some times I have to wing some out because some times I think you cant make everyone happy. But I am very particular were I lay my head with all these different things going around. So every worker including the hard working house keepers had on gloves and mask I was VERY SUPRISED ! EVERY WERE U TURNED SANTATION LIQUID WAS THERE! THE HOTEL ALONE JUST GOT TO 10 FROM ME! I was waiting to see if anyone had an attuide or speaking out of term NOTHING! I even went on the roof top know dont get me wrong the place is very expensive my table section bill was $520.00 dollors for just a bottle of patron. I know ...... but its the city. Or you can stand up for free. They have much cheaper bottles service starts at 150.00. Oh yes no entry at all if your not vaccinated! And the restaurant omg you must try the (aged t/bone ) absolutely just excellent!
Great hotel! Great service, very clean, and great views. Some minor issues:1. There were some (small) problems with my room. I told reception a few times, they said theyd fix it, but never did.2. The taps in the sink are hard to turn, trying to be fancy instead of convenient.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a staycation (we live in Queens) from Monday - Wednesday the week after Christmas. We had a really amazing time! This was the only hotel I could find across NYC in this price range with a bathtub as well as floor to ceiling windows with a view. Those reasons alone lead us to The Standard because with COVID and it being winter we knew we would be spending most of the time in the room. We stayed in a Deluxe Queen room on the 9th floor which was on the small side but thats expected in NYC and we still had everything we needed. We were right by the elevator but that ended up not being an issue at all. Outside, the high line is right there and there are of bunch of restaurants with outdoor seating or to order in with delivery. Most stores in the area are open as well but we steered clear of them for crowd/safety reasons. The one thing we were disappointed in was the TV! It was a seemingly new Samsung TV, but there was no Netflix/Hulu and my girlfriend was not able to hook up her Playstation 4 because it was blocked. The only options available were cable or phone mirroring - which we couldnt get to work on both my Samsung phone or on her iPhone. Thankfully we ended up spending most of the time looking at the views or in the bathtub anyway but it definitely would have been nice to be able to watch our shows like we wanted. The Bluetooth speaker in the room was awesome and also made up for not being able to watch TV. The bathtub was HUGE (more then enough room for 2 adults) and the rainfall shower was amazing as well. Since we only stayed for 2 nights we did not get housekeeping services, which was available by request only not every day as usual. We also did not order room service or use the restaurant downstairs because there were so many other (cheaper) options in the area. The rooftop and beer garden were unfortunately closed as well. Overall, this was perfect for a couple getaway given the situation right now. Well definitely be coming back one day!
Went to the rooftop for drinks. Amazing view! A bit crowded but worth it. The drinks are pretty good - nothing crazy - but of course you’re here for the view. You can also reserve tables in advance (....but this can also mean you and your party being moved because a table is reserved). Overall, a great rooftop for warm weather with friends! 🌞🏙
The location was awesome. The front service staff were very polite however the hotel was clearly understaff because of covid. However, we called the front desk because our toilet wasnt flushing and waited almost an hour and 2 calls before they came. Once they came to fix the toilet, the service engineers told me dont call the front desk twice... seriously? I waited almost an hour after calling again. I was very confused and a bit disrespected. First and last time.
The best hotel I ever booked. The views are amazing with clean ceiling to floor windows. The bed and bath is position perfectly so upon sleeping and waking you have a clear view of the city. You can have a relaxing bath and still enjoy the view. The elevator also has this cool TV showcase thing as seen in the pics below. Of course the mini is expensive but they are decent dining options in the area. The pricing was definitely up there but thats because it was December. The staff and accommodations are also great.
Sitting in the private dining room of the Standard now and super disappointed. Had my sisters bridal shower here in 2010 and the service was impeccable. Today, 2019, the service sucks. Each server forget drinks, didnt allocate food well, provide utensils, or check in on guests. Would not recommend for service. Food is still good.
Hands down the BEST hotel Ive ever stayed in. Superbly located in the meat packing district, youre at the start of the (amazing) High Line and minutes from loads of cool cafes, restaurants, shops and bars. The service from the minute we arrived to the minute we checked out was exemplary, our room had stunning views and the food and drink options are amazing. We ate in the hotel, at the grill and also had cocktails in all of the bars which were the best.Really cannot recommend this place highly enough - we will definitely be back.
I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Yes the view is nice. But the service and the overall feel of this place for the money that you pay is shocking. The bar upstairs is beautiful and the staff are lovely indeed, but that is a different review and would give it 5 Stars. We ran out of soap, there was no hot water on one of the days, the shower was pathetic with no pressure. Yes the view was nice out the room down the river, but you also have the people on the highline looking right into your room.Overall would not go back here and we were here for 7 nights. Still here on our 6th night and I had to review now. Also if you like weed, then stay here, because your room will smell like weed at least once during your stay.
First I would like to express a warm gratitude to the receptionist who assisted me, I cannot remember her name but she was Asian . Upon arrival she was very polite and welcoming. While confirming my booking, I asked her a question about a specific room, in which I thought I booked, however she expressed that I didnt not book the right room. I was so saddened, however she took it upon her responsibility to upgrade my booking, and gave me an even better room ( Liberty Suit ). Her actions really showed that there is amazing people in this world, and for that I greatly appreciate her and will certainly return and recommend this hotel to everyone I know.overall, the hotel room- liberty suit was AMAZINGGGG!!! the perfect suit for a nice romantic gateway with a SPECTACULAR view. I posted my room, and over 100 people on my IG following will be booking this unit in the near future. This hotel is amazing in the heart of NY & deserves all the recognition...THANK YOU STANDARD HIGH LINE - Youve exceeded my expectations.
My husband and I weren’t particularly impressed with our 4 night stay at The Standard. The views and the surrounding area were great, but I wouldn’t recommend this place. There’s a night club on the top floor and our room was on one of the higher floors. The bass from the music kept us awake two nights in a row until the club closed at 4 am. It’s a really busy area and during the weekend we often had to wait 3+ turns just to get on the elevator to get up to our room. The front desk staff weren’t very friendly and we found they had added charges to our bill when we checked out. They said it was authorized by us when we checked in, but was pretty sneaky to me. Overall, it just doesn’t seem worth the money to stay here.
Boy, did I stay at the same hotel as all these 5-star reviewers? Nothing horrible happened, it is just not a great experience. I can tell you this: what is important to this hotel is hiring interesting looking people.if that is important, go for it. I did not drink at this hotel. Reception told me the top floor bar becomes a private members club after 9 or 10. What does that even mean? Like a speakeasy? It is also super hard just to get a coffee and a muffin. I guess a coffee kiosk is just too pedestrian. With so many thousands of options I will skip this place.
Rooms are beautiful, quiet and will appointed. Great food and drinks right under your feet while you are at this hotel. If you are going to share a room with a friend prepare to get a little intimate. The showers in some rooms have a clear glass window into the room. Nice little display. The hotel does offer a curtain but also know it is open in the other side into the bathroom cutout. Toilet at least had a door for privacy. The tub is huge and the shower is great so not too bad. Easy to get to by subway with a little walking and plenty of taxis. You wouldnt regret starting here.
Positive- great location & views, room small but well-stocked with travelers’ needs, gym was immaculate and really well-appointed.Negative- No heads up on website or at check in that valet was cancelled - parking was a total mess. The room was filthy (during covid times, at that!) when we checked in, with gunk on the table, the phone 🤢😷. The staff was less than helpful (woefully inept is the honest description) in dealing with a Le Bain reservation

Simply beautiful hotel with stunning views!!! The staff was great and the hotel is amazing!! Super modern, super cool! If youre interested in having a beautiful view of Manhattan even when youre inside the room, this hotel is perfect! I had a bath looking at the empire State building, so it was pretty awesome!
Amazing location. Small room, incredible view of the Hudson, too bad the windows were 1/8 washed, they were filthy. The squeegee marks on the floor to ceiling windows were very apparent, it was like the dirt from windows above had been squeegeed down, there were streaks and clumps of dirt. Shower didn’t drain. Toilet handle was broken, maintenance came to fix right away, I left them to meet a friend, came back, the toilet seat was up. It’s dark. The bath and shower are high gloss black tile without adequate lighting plus the tile is slippery. No place to hang wet towels or anything else for that matter. Bed was comfy. I thought I had upgraded my room. If this was an upgrade, yikes. Trendy cool not luxury.
Great location and fun hotel. The floor to ceiling windows create a spacious environment with wonderful views of the NYC skyline. If youre looking for a unique, clean, and comfortable experience I recommend the Highline! The staff was friendly and helpful. I ended up forgetting an item in my room after checkout and the staff immediately identified it and had it shipped to me!
Amazing view, great cocktails - a little on the expensive side. Id advise eating lightly before coming here as the menu is limited (kind of bar style) although the food is quite tasty. The atmosphere is quite nice with live band playing jazz, giving off the NYC vibe. Also, Id possibly stay here next time!
Overall, we had a great experience celebrating my wifes bday this past weekend at the Standard. They gave us a great spot overlooking the water and the city. Bed was comfy and love how the room is laid out. The fitness facility also has fantastic views. A highlight for me is that they wash 4 articles of gym clothes for free each day. Also, its in a great part of town. I would definitely stay here again.
Not always worth the price. I remember staying here 4 years ago and the rooms were better. You can tell the wear they had. May depend on which room you get, but the views are usually amazing and the location is perfect, subway is 6 mins away, tons of nightlife. I would recommend it still but dont pay more than $250 a night.
Interesting place. Very hip for the younger generation. A bit much for the older folks. In an accessible room with my 93 year old mother. Yes, there are grab bars in the shower and around the toilet. But you couldnt sit on the seat in the shower and get soap off of you, needs a handheld wand. Reading lights at the bed were not bright enough for her. Great location, but you pay for it!
Rooms are small, dated and have maintenance issues. We paid extra for a better room during the booking process and were surprised with a hotel that did not correspond at all to the pictures and the quality promoted in their website. As a result, we paid a premium and ended up with a really disappointing location for a romantic weekend. I would not recommend this hotel, and sincerely wish that they will go bankrupt and close sooner rather than later. As far as I can tell this is a scheme and deceitful for guests. It would be fine if it was advertised as a average hotel with small basic rooms and priced accordingly.
Rooms were very clean, spacious. View was beautiful. The only initial issue I had was that I was staying with parents and the bath tub was completely visible from the room without any curtain. But, the staff was very helpful and they provided a very quick service by putting the curtain. Overall it was a really good experience
The hotel is located in the center of the city. The rooms are big and very clean. They have really good views. But if you want to have better view go on the roof top. The staff is amazing and really friendly. The price for the service is great. They will make you feel home.
Has classic charm. The price is great and the staff are very kind. The hotel IS DATED so dont expect shiny new. Some floors are updated, some are not. The hotel has been around for a long time, if you are looking for a vintage vibe at a good price I had a lot of fun staying here. The location is great.
Love to come back... just stayed there last week again and love it everytime a bit more. The basic rooms are small, but super functional, great design and positive vibe. Already taking the elevator up is an amazing experience.... drinks at the roof top bar and drinks at the beergarden downstairs are great 👍🏻 & lots of fun. Great location & one of my favorite hotels. I will be back soon!
We are locals and took a group of 8 friends including out of town guests to rooftop for drinks on Monday night. We were kicked off 2 chairs we moved to be together. The manager Nicole was incredibly rude to us and the place was half empty. We frequent many places locally and were stunned. The empty chairs may be happy back where they belong but my group is not. The bartenders were very considerate. Nicole needs a new line of work and upper management should take note of so many negative reviews!
The rooms are nice with tons of natural light. The bed is very low to the floor so it would be hard for an older person or someone with bad knees to get in and out. Bathrooms are small but functional. Not a big fan of the glass wall in the shower, keep the blinds closed or everyone will see you soaping up. Nice selection of restaurants, good location, close to the action in the district. TV signal was choppy the whole time.
The hotel was great! The staff were extemely friendly, polite and accommodating!!! It was my hubbys birthday and the concierge (Colleen, was an absolute gem 😊) helped me set up the room with balloons, cake, bubbly!! Everything was perfect! Just as if pictured it!! They even gave us a room upgrade for the the celebration!! The area is really nice too. The High line goes through it! Unfortunately we were only there for one night so we didnt get to enjoy the hotel properly, the roof top, beer garden! Would highly recommend if youre looking to stay some where hip and funky!!
The floor to ceiling window views of the high floor rooms is lovely. I enjoyed seeing it all day then lit up at night. It included a rain shower plus a sexy tub & mirrors. The mini bar also had a nice collection. The elevator was very weird & dark though! Weird music & funhouse images on screens without much light. Felt like a clown horror movie. Staying here was a cool experience overall but for $1k the elevators are very uncomfortable.
We had a wonderful experience and time. The top of the highline bar is lovely, had one of the best cocktails of my life, great birthday dessert at the grill, fantastic view in the room, and very fun modern room. Check your room layout before bringing the kids though, our modern shower with clear glass facing the bed was great for two but would not have been great with kids :) Also parts of the meatpacking crowd are obnoxious, but worth bearing.
Very bad experience, though the view is great. I booked 1 room for celebrating my birthday there and found no hot water when I tried to take a shower. Called the front desk twice and waited for nearly half an hour, finally they sent the staff up for a check. I was really disappointed with their service and careless apology.
I had a great experience! The food was very good, friendly staff and nice rooms. Had especially good time with friends in the beer garden playing ping pong with friends. Late night we went up to club Lebain and had cocktails and I was mesmerized by the breathaking view of the manhattan skyline. I will definitely be back again.
Recently stayed at the Standard High Line. Initial impression was ok. Hotel is mid level, definitely not luxurious, but more hip. Paid extra for a high level room with a view but turned out the top floor isnt always the best. Too close to the rooftop club so noisy until 4am. Plus could hear the elevators moving throughout the night and lost sleep. Wouldnt mind a lower level room away from the elevator banks for half the price. Location is good so wouldnt mind staying again if opportunity arises
Really nice and different hotel. Rooms are really nice and you have great views. Showers are integrated in the room so it may not be a great idea to share a room but it looks great. The high line park passes below the hotel so it is really easy to go out and work there. Many things to do around and great places to eat. A really good choice to stay
Beautiful people but terrible service. Their front of house was worse than any hotel Ive ever been to. Employees are in street clothes, no name tags and pretentious attitudes. No bell stand. No valet stand. Cool bro. Way to keep things hip. So progressive. Oh and the rooms are tiny. The bier garden is their only saving grace. Its packed with a younger crowd during happy hour. The rooftop has spectacular views. Access to nearby restaurants and the Chelsea Market was nice.Stay here to party and youll be OK.
Very hard to find main entrance through decor outside. Interesting interior decor as well. Room was very small - especially for 2 people as we were getting ready for a holiday party. But the bed was comfortable and we had a good view of the city skyline. Ive posted pictures of decor in the front of the hotel.
Great drinks, spectacular views, fantastic dance floor. Music was a little strange, though obviously thats subjective, but a tad too much cow bell for my taste this particular night. The views are likely some of the best available in the city. The couches and seats are perfect for when youre all danced out. Note: The maximum capacity of the whirl pool is 19 people.
I went to the Biergarten at the Standard Hotel. This place has a really cool concept. I like their buy 4 get one free ticket option. Aside from a dope layout the staff were friendly and engaging. Naina was my bartender and she was not only quick and knowledgeable about drinks but was nice enough to give me recommendations for my visit in NY for food, hangout spots and even places for me to get work done. I’ll be back next visit for sure from this experience.
EDIT: since I posted the review below during my stay and got in touch with the management, we were moved to a nicer, corner room. The reception manager in charge did a nice job, was understanding and very respectful. The room was superb and felt very luxurious. Amazing views and very large for a room in NYC. And very quiet. This was clearly more aligned with the experience we were hoping for. I must say that half the staff doesnt seem properly trained though (we also had a weird experience at the restaurant, where the hostess lied to us to give us a crappy table; which we declined, we said wed wait. She then acted very surprised oh wait there may be one available, and a waiter responded actually we have 3 tables available...) so I would be hesitant to spend a lot of money there. The design, views and location are unique and if you book early you will have a good rate. If you book late, you may pay a lot for a headache with inhospitable staff. Its basically a bet.Original post:Sure, rooms are nicely decorated. But I will never stay here again. Terrible experience with the reception. We were given a room on the 15th floor. The club a few floors up is extremely loud. I went to the reception on the Sunday night of my arrival at 10pm to say I was bothered with the music and I was told the music would stop at 12am. I was even told to put a towel at the bottom on the door to block the noise (!!!). Since our understanding was that it would only last for a couple hours at most, we decided to keep our room and asked for an extra pair of earplugs to be brought to your room since there was only one in the room (are they expecting a couple in a double room to wear one earplug each? Mystery ...). Well, the clubs music lasted until past 3:30am and we havent slept until 4am. We have important meetings in town this week and this is my husbands birthday, so I was really hoping to have a great, glamorous stay. This is not the case, but instead the worst hotel experience we have had in years. This morning I went to the reception and asked to be moved to a quiet - and if possible nicer room for the 2 upcoming nights of our stay - to make it up to us since we were clearly misled by the reception last night. I said the experience of not sleeping on a Sunday night had made our stay so far stressful and unpleasant. Response: what else in your stay has been stressful?. Seriously? Like, not sleeping and being misled when I could clearly have been moved last night when I first asked about the noise? I knew the hotel had many unoccupied rooms at this time of year. But then today the receptionist proceeded to do something he must have thought was classy and that I found plain insulting: he said he would waive from our bill the two drinks we had the night before at the bar as a courtesy. He did not offer to move us, saying that the club would be closed on Mon-Tue so we would be fine. Huh... well thats not what is going to improve my memory of this stay or make my overall impression better. If I was expecting a financial compensation, I would have asked for the night to be reimbursed, not two drinks on our bill. And now I wish I had 5 cocktails and not one, maybe I would have been able to sleep! I was so frustrated, the guy was clearly inexperienced in handling customers, he just panicked and wasnt even smiling, empathizing or accommodating at all. He had the tone of someone investigating my claim, like can you describe the conversation you had with my colleague yesterday. What?? I was so, so pissed. And then I went to have breakfast. Well, you should skip that part too - unless you want to be served toasted bread that is not actually toasted and spread with melted garlic butter (what?) at 8am before heading to work. Have a good day.
Very modern, room is small but with a well designed layout so its very comfortable. Appreciate the 3 mirrors (2 full length) and large shower tub in the bathroom.Great bars and restaurants downstairs and around- have to visit Chelsea market and Starbucks Reserve nearby.
Views are great over the city. However avoid the weekends if you’re here for business / tourism as it gets VERY busy with party goers both in the entrance and on the rooftop. Music can be heard in some rooms. The rooftop club can go on till 4am on some nights. Staff are super friendly and very accommodating. Room service is expensive, €7 delivery fee for a $6 cup of tea! Kettles are not provided and there is nowhere to get a tea in the morning (6am).
This is a beautiful hotel. I love the location and the ambiance. It is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. Its trendy without the attitude. The rooms are beautifully appointed and has a smart use of space. The showers dont have a door and consist of two clear glass panes so you are visible to all those in your room when showering. Thankfully the toilet is a bit more private. The views are great as is the breakfast brunch. We had the pancakes, eggs benedict, eggs poached in Olive Oil and turkey sausage. All were delicious.
This is a fantastic place. The Standard Highline has great security indoor shops roof top bar music they also have ground level bar and dining taxi service right out side and a abundance of local shops right around the corner. The best of all a great desk staff they make you feel right at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone very comfortable you will love it stop by and enjoy your next visit here at The Standard High line.
The Living Room lounge bar here is cozy. Lots of nice drinks. A bit costly but you pay for the ambiance I guess. crowd can get a bit annoying as every one keeps taking selfies..If you fancy a coffee at 11pm after your long journey, they even got a fresh pot at the ready. They have a decent DJ playing suitable tunes from 3pm into the night until 2am. They close @ 4am.
We had cocktails at the bar of The Standard downstairs before partying on the rooftop at Le Bain. We got a nice table outside. The lights, the sand, the sculpture, the music... it was a great setting to relax and enjoy a good cocktail. The service was really good. Friendly, helpful and professional, as you can expect of a fancy hotel bar. They really make you feel that youre on a holiday.Prices are quite high, but hey: youre having cocktails at The Standard, right.
Fantastic hotel! The grill downstairs had great food and the atmosphere was excellent. The floor to ceiling windows that overlook the city, the water, or three High Line are incredible. Lots of light poured into the room. The shower and bathroom design are modern and super cool.
Went to dinner with a few co-workers at the Grill downstairs - everything was great. We tried some oysters, the bone marrow and the octopus for apps. The seafood was fresh and the octopus was excellently grilled. If bone marrow is your thing, definitely worth trying it here. I had the salmon for dinner - it was very well cooked and had a very nice charred textures. Just wish they gave me more.Their beer list is on the short side, but they have ample cocktails and decent wine list to make up for it. Try their cider, its very good. The ambiance is very nice - clean and upscale. They really dim the lights a bit too much in the evening, just a heads up. Its a little noisy but not to the point where you can hear the people at your table. Overall, Id definitely come back. PS. The beer garden next door is worth checking out too.
Great location - the Meat Packing district is super interesting. The elevator ride is unique. The gym is full of cardio equipment. The rooms have great floor to ceiling windows. The shower is well appointed. There is no privacy in the shower for the rest of the room - which may bother some. The curtains dont provide full black out. Its noisy! Not only can you hear the club from upstairs, but you can hear traffic noise. They supply you with ear plugs - which is good. Not sure its worth the per night price tag.
The rooms have incredible views of Manhattan and the surrounding area. They are clean and reasonably spacious. The gym at the top also has pretty incredible views while you are on the equipment. My only minor complaint is that the elevators all have a strange film montage playing that grew pretty tiring over the course of a week.
I loved The Standard when I last stayed there, shortly after it had opened. And while Ive eaten and drunk at its restaurants since, I only recently returned as a hotel guest. I was pretty disappointed if Im honest. The bedrooms havent aged well, and are in need of a remodel. Paintwork is looking pretty poor, peeling in places. Soft furnishings could do with a refresh. The overall design and aesthetic of the rooms is still great - theyre not huge but they are carefully and stylishly designed. They just need a bit of TLC. That said, the bed is insanely comfortable.Hotel also messed up my check-out and bill, which Im still struggling to get fixed. So overall, probably wont rush back.

2022-06-13The check-in process was smooth and the elevator ride to our floor was fun. They had a screening in the elevator that was futuristic and very interesting, I didnt get a chance to capture it during our stay though. The room was small (which I was expecting) and a bit dusty and not super clean (which I was not expecting). The shower head had some black buildup on the holes and a few areas in the room were sticky and dusty. The view was amazing both during the day and night with a little bit of late night noise from the night club right above us which were given heads up about. The gym was small but amazing, with the right equipment. All Standard hotels now have Peloton (which I dont use but I know its a big deal for those who do). It was on the top floor with top-down Windows, I exercised every day of our stay as the environment was very inviting. The location is great too, being within walking distance of many great restaurants. I would probably come back, hoping to see better cared-for rooms.

2021-12-30Really cool hotel in a great location! The bathtub was fabulous. The cleaning crew was top notch, they do not skimp on toiletries and towels :) every one we encountered was super friendly. They go all out with the Christmas decorations in the lobby/outdoor space. We had a fabulous Christmas at The Standard. Highly recommend checking it out!

2022-07-01Service and staff are amazing and attentive. (Shout out to Miss Brynne, Jewell, and Seth) The rooms are fabulous, comfortable, modern and spacious. From the different rooms we have stayed in (Hudson Suite, Corner King and normal King rooms) they are not family friendly so keep that in mind. The location is fabulous with Chelsea Market, Starbucks Reserve, the High Line, Chelsea Piers, and dozens of other restaurants within walking distance it is one of my favorite hotels. Cant wait to stay again in the near future!

2022-03-07We stayed here for a birthday. Overall 5 stars experience. Room is small but it’s NYC so understandable. Very clean. Pretty quiet, great view to see Whitney, high line, and Little island. We ordered room service breakfast. VERY GOOD STAY

2021-11-27I booked a last minute reservation on Thanksgiving Day. It was my first time there and I had heard a lot of great things about the property, so I was excited and looking forward to my stay. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the manager on duty, Patricia. She was friendly and easy to speak to. I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. I gave her a few details about my stay and she went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. It is a beautiful property, has amazing views of NYC and the rooms are equipped with pretty much anything that you need in order to enjoy your stay, but Patricia will be the reason that I return. Her service was exceptional and the company is so lucky to have her! Thank you for making my stay a memorable one, Patricia!

2022-03-29My wife and I had a great stay at the Standard High Line. We were staying at the hotel for our honeymoon and we were provided a hand written congratulations note and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate, which was greatly appreciated. We were in the Corner King room and the views were to die for! The room was really spacious (something of a rarity in NYC) and also very clean. The hot water on the shower took a long time to come through and the pressure of the shower wasnt great, but these are only very minor issues in an all together great stay! All staff we encountered were very friendly and chatty, which was also very much appreciated. Big shout out to Seth for arranging our Taxi for us and also switching the booking when we informed him we needed to leave earlier than planned.Well be looking to re-book at the Standard when were next in NYC. Thanks for a great stay!

2022-04-02Nice hotel in the middle of Manhattan. Nice to stay there inside but be careful about the 15.,16.,17., floor. the reception tell us this before and give us the option to go to a lower floor. You hear the night club at the rooftop during the night. The View was absolutely amazing. The rooms are clean and nice.

2022-07-05Hip Hotel, very cool joint, weird design with the showers, how they run out onto the carpet and aren’t enclosed though. Also, if you stay on downtown facing side, expect bass and music until 2am most nights, so bring eag plugs or noise canceling if you need to sleep pre 2am.Service was excellent, rooftop bar is cool. Overall a nice experience aside from bar noise

2022-04-27Awesome place to party with an amazing view of NYC skyline at night. Though, it took some time to check in, due to the long queue at 2230hrs evening. There is a queue all night, i guess. They have a terrace open area as well, with glass barricades (no railings).

2022-05-11The need to be seen with a glass of rose here is a bit much but the hotel does its best to accommodate everyone.Ive never stayed here but I enjoy the restaurant and patio on weekdays and lunch time.We can stand to attract an obnoxious amount of scenesters who seem to test the most patent staff.
