My first visit to the Sterling, and I was impressed. The exterior does not blow you away though updates like the LED dance floor in the reception room wowed me. Staff was on top of everything and the wedding day flowed as planned. There are both interior and exterior locations for wedding photos. The venue allowed for smooth arrival and set up for us as a vendor as well. We visit hundreds of halls per year and are happy to add The Sterling to the list. Check it out for yourself.
Picturesque front the gate to the bathroom to the halls themselves. Entrance sign could be a little more visible especially for the evening time so as not to be missed. But the staff were great. I didnt need much of their attention, but when I did it was great. Dont know the price tag, but will reccomend it.
We had our wedding reception July 2019 and Pooja was our Banquet Manager and she did a really great job helping us. She made herself as available as she could and got everything done to our liking. She is personable and gives great advice to couples while also making sure the rest of the family is satisfied. Thanks Pooja!
Super happy with our event that we held at the Sterling on March 20, 2021. Our party was with limited size of 150 guests. However, to us, our safety was of utmost importance. Let me assure you that they were more concerned for safety than we were. Venue is super beautiful and recently updated. Food was excellent and we couldn’t have asked for more. Our leftover food was packed for us in portable containers. Our party manager remained super at tentative to our needs throughout. Our booking manager, Sneha, was accessible throughout and was able to provide us with rescheduling due to last year shutdown. Overall, I am more than willing to recommend Sterling to anyone who is looking to hold a great reception event in Long Island.
Dont Use...I know I will never use againMy party favors were never brought out or distributed. And No one there realized it until I called after a couple of days after we came back from our honeymoon. Received no apologies. No attempt to reimbursement. I am still left with almost $1000 of goods. I called many many times and obviously they didnt care. They had me send receipts of items I bought; they had me call shipping companies to see how much it would cost to mail the items; changed the person that was going to help resolve the issue twice...Basically, there was never an intention to help.So, nor will I ever use this place or recommend it.
The place is very beautiful. The main ballroom is very well renovated and looks gorgeous. While I was there for an event, I had the pleasure of meeting, Yama, the manager for the property. He was very courteous and made special arrangements for my daughter as she is allergic to a lot of food, so he arranged food to her specification. It’s hard to find venues who are willing to go that for a guest.
Worst wedding reception experience I ever had!!! Our invitation indicated 6pm invite on 10/9. All the guests had to stand in the reception area for 1 1/2 hours, no refreshment offered, whilst they clean the cocktail lounge area!!! Mind you a lot of elderly people were present! Only to get to the cocktail lounge at 7:30pm to get into a long queue to get appetizers! No tea or coffee! Only liquor & soda!!! The music in the reception hall was 10 times the room size - excessively loud! Seating positioning was horrible!! WOW, seating at the side of the bride& groom but not facing the couple???We had to move chairs & stand to get a view!!! Management of this place is a copycat that didnt graduate to the level!! Our enjoyment was obliterated! We only endured because of the couple! My 81 year old mother could not enjoy the event! What a misfortune both for this event hosting place and the guests of that day!
Attended a pakistani-sudanese fusion wedding here and the food was all pakistani dishes. taste wise it was ok, nothing to rave over. the display for the dessert was awesome! sparklers and all. as far as it goes for a wedding venue, it’s nice enough. depending on your party and how many people in it, it can be quite spacious. very cool effects with smoke machine and the couple actually came down a moving stage through the wall! the place was overall clean. my sister dealt with the Maitre d, and thought she was so sweet and easy to work with.
We had a fantastic experience with our wedding at the Sterling. Puja was extremely helpful in putting our day together and making sure everything ran smoothly. The packages Sterling offers (DJ, photographer, decor, food) also makes things easy and less stressful. Would definitely do another event here!
We had our wedding at The Sterling in May and we were very happy with the services provided. Our event manager Poojah was very nice and amazing to work with. From the very time we met her, she worked with us to find a package within our budget. Poojah was very flexible even with last minute changes. The Sterling made our wedding planning so easy as they gave us a bunch of fine vendors to choose from. From photography to videography to wedding cake to decor to limo, you name it, they got it all covered. It is basically a one-stop shop for all your wedding needs. On the day of the event, Mary, our maid took very good care of us and even packed some food for us to take home. The staff was very polite and nice to our guests. We enjoyed the customized dance floor as well. The bridal suite was very useful. All our guests had a good time. The interior is amazing with very beautiful decor and flowers to make gorgeous pictures. There are also a variety of beautiful spots for picture taking. On the whole, it was a beautiful experience and I would do it with them if we had to again. Thank you Sterling, thank you Poojah, thank you mary and all the wonderful staff. I highly recommend them and their prices are one of the most reasonable in the area!
Place is amazing. We recently held our Reception at the Sterling. Venue is beautiful and clean. They followed all COVID protocols. Our guests were super impressed with quality of service and the entire presentation. Our booking manager, Yama, was phenomenal. Guy with a great sense of humor. We were being very picky about everything, but they were top notch and exceeded our expectations. We will forever remember our event.
We booked our event at the Sterling before COVID. We were nervous about the party getting cancelled and status on our money given as deposit. I am so thankful to them that they were able to reschedule my party with reduced party size and everything was impeccable. My wife and I had a great event and our booking manager, Sneha, was there to assist us throughout the time. Our party host was great as she made sure that all precautions were observed and the staff was well mannered. I highly recommend Sterling for your events.
I first met Yama for my booking, but when I actually went to book my event, I met with Diane. I was impressed by her professionalism. Later on I continued dealing with Yama and to my surprise, he was impeccable. Our host, Mary, was phenomenal. The servers at our event were all professionals and really went that extra mile to satisfy our guests needs. My wife and I are very happy we chose sterling for our event. Super venue and exceptional people.
I am excited to share my review about a reception event we held at the Sterling. Everything from the start till finish was exceptional. My booking was originally for April 2020, but due to COVID, we couldn’t hold our event. Then came my fear as to what will happen to the deposit that I had given. Firstly, I also had booked an engagement party at a different venue that completely gave me a bad taste. But at Sterling, my experience was rather different. We spoke to Sneha (our booking coordinator). She spoke to us and kept us informed throughout. We didn’t lose a penny and yet they conducted an event with all safety guidelines and our guests were super impressed with everything at Sterling. From Social distance to Quality, Sumptuous Food to Exception Decor and Best of All Amazing Service by our party manager. We truly had a remarkable time along with 50 of our close family members who all were pleased with everything. I highly recommend them, as I have first hand witnessed what other venues have done or have treated us. At Sterling, their team is ethical and they really stand up for their guests. This place is so well managed that you can easily tell that the management cares about their clients. I had a cancelled event due to COVID, but they were very responsive about getting through my calls and addressing my concerns. I was in direct contact with my booking manager, Sneha, who made it a breeze to rebook the event with a smaller gathering size, as NY state requires. I did end up paying more for per person, but in grand scheme of things, it was just because I substantially decreased number of guests due to state restrictions. On the day of my event, Mary took care of everything from soup to nuts. Our decoration was top notch and the service was a notch above. Food was beyond expected (it certainly better than our food tasting-but I might be biased for my wedding offering). Overall, this is a great venue and I highly recommend them for their services. Surely, I would do another event at Sterling.
Sterling had good service and they exceeded my expectations decor wise. They were dishonest about one thing they promised to serve Naan bread but served pita bread instead. And they promised me milk tea and served condensed milk tea. I paid a lot of money close to 20K and I deserved real naan and milk tea.
Beautiful rooms, but the place needs serious updates to the exterior and front entry way. Bathrooms smelled like sewage. Would be a great space if updates were made. Carpets were old and filthy. Staff was frustrating, no food labels on anything, bartender was serving from dirty glasses, and food servers did not know what things contained meat ( I dont eat meat). Outdoor sign is busted.. Would not recommend.
We had our sister’s wedding at this venue two months ago. We were all very impressed with all the safety protocols in place and the way management yet made our day remarkable. I would highly recommend this venue for all they do for their patrons. Sterling is a gem of a venue in Long Island.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for throwing an excellent party for my daughters Sweet 16. We all LOVED it so much! I cannot put into words what an amazing night we had! Your entire staff is amazing, especially our Maitred, Yulia! She was lovely, kind, answered literally every single request and question I had, extremely thorough, and just PERFECT! There was NOTHING that I required because she was on every single detail to the minute! I love that about her! Efficient, punctual, perfection, now THATS how you run an event! I am BEYOND thankful to you and your staff for the event. It was months in the planning, and it all came through wonderfully! You guys, along with the photographer and the DJ, the bartender, the waitstaff, the servers, the cleaning and set up crew, etc etc, the entire staff all made Juliets Sweet 16 the party of the year THANK YOU!!
Decor falling all over, event management ignored the bridal party and made us change rooms three times before the event knowing that we asked for an extra room to get ready in. Furniture looks like its from the 90s. Full review is on Yelp. Its customary to provide at least lunch to the wedding party but we had to order out since the staff chose to pick a fight with us during such an important moment in our family...they literally stuffed us in a room with non-working toilet and dim lighting. Once you give your deposit, they dont care. There are much better venues in Long Island. Save your money, time and memories for somewhere else.
Absolutely bad!!!!!This is the first time I came to this party hall, it’s the worst party hall from my experience, the food service is disgusting , I had to wait for 45 minutes for the food, and it was cold looks like it was preserved from last night’s remaining party. Please don’t go there if you don’t want to get disappointed. I don’t know how these reviews came here.And one more thing, if you want to drink counterfeit alcohol please visit here…Spend $100 for food and,Get $1 worth food from here..absolutely bad!
We had our wedding at the beautiful Sterling on 1/10/20 and it was beyond spectacular. I will admit I was so nervous because I have seen some mixed reviews but let me tell you... do not believe the negative! from booking 2 years prior we have always been spoken too and treated with such kindness, but the day of the wedding they were top notch. We met Sneha at our final meeting and we asked for her for her trusted Maitre D... but even at the final meeting, our first time meeting this woman and she put all of our worries went away! She was so accommodating, so truthful just truly an angel!! the day of the wedding all of the concerns we discussed everything that we added on was there.. it is sad that I spent 2 years worrying when Sterling was literally the best element of my wedding day! when you arrive at Sterling your bridal attendant and any other worker just instantly takes care of you, they are always steps away and asking if you are thirsty or hungry they even helped with my hair!! at one point during the family photos I was feeling very overwhelmed and my bridal attendant must have saw my face because the next moment I had a glass of water and plate of food waiting for me. I can not say enough good things about Sterling but I truly love them and I hope they stay in business forever!!! thank you from the new Mr. & Mrs. Vega.
We highly recommend The Sterling! we spent many days collecting information from several surrounding venues to create a spreadsheet and finally going to each of the finalist and checking them out personally. As soon as we walked into this venue we already had a feeling this would be the winner. This was then confirmed when we started talking with Pooja and her team. It easily shows when a person loves what they do. We started working with Pooja a few days later once we confirmed we wanted to get married at his venue. From the food selection to every last detail we could think of Pooja was awesome to work with and suggested better ideas. The whole experience felt really intimate and actually felt as if we were working with our friend Pooja instead of just somebody we were hiring for a service!All of our guests raved about how delicious all the food tasted and how amazing the venue was. We lost count of how many people stated this was the best wedding they had been to :)We really appreciate all the passion and efforts that went into turning our wedding into our dream wedding!P.S They also just renovated the place and looks really nice. I wish I had taken a pic of the RAW, still ice cold in the middle steak they gave me. Part of a wedding, I asked for the steak, medium rare on the menu. I got the first steak and it was well done. I sent it back, to get the second Steak RAW! I was mortified and got a third steal WELL DONE as a remedy. Clearly they dont have a clue as to how to prepare a steak at all. On top of that their package DJ mind as well been Pandora or Spotify. He played songs that didnt even make sense for the moments and played whooooole songs, for that we could have just gotten a juke box. Whatever you do, dont get those guys thrown into your package if you even plan on going there to begin with!!The place is outdated and not organized.I get you have to serve house liquor but the quality was even worse than your local bars house liquor. Youre paying a premium for the worst possible quality all around. If you get what you pay for so to speak then be at least cheaper than competitor banquet/event halls. The wedding party told me how much they paid per plate and I just gasped!
I can say that I can add COVID Bride to my list of experiences and testimonies. As any other COVID bride would know, a lot of my engagement period was spent doing innovative planning. Everything didnt work out the way I planned, but it was what I needed. I was battling balancing an intimate gathering, keeping everyone safe, and wanting to see my friends and loved ones there. One thing I can say is that in spite of some of the tough decisions, I was able to have most of my close family and friends present, while still being able to have a grand time. It was an intimate gala, without people I didnt want to invite in the first place - if youre married or have been involved in weddings, you know exactly what Im talking about!I live in New York, and most of us know what that meant for weddings - 50 people MAX, although indoor dining was opened *shrugs*. 3. All roads led to the Sterling, and it was a journey and a half. The staff at the Sterling were absolutely amazing!!! They were so accommodating and flexible; cocktail hour was extended, the bridal party was taken care of, and food was waiting for my husband and I. There was great collaboration between my wedding coordinators and the Sterling. To this day, everyone has been raving about the food and the courtesy. They helped turn a stressful time into the moment of a life time! I am so happy that things turned out the way they did. All things work together for GOOD! From Taylor, to Mary, the attendant for bridal party, to the little old man who helped us customize the menu, linen, and the overall package (I am sooo sorry; I forgot his name). The patience, warmth, attentiveness and overall excellence was second to none. Sterling even sent my family home with food for the road! For a reasonable price, you get a five star experience. You guys were right about everything, including the cake OMG! I wish I could do it all over again.....Oh, I actually will; my cousin is getting married in August and guess where were heading?! This place is a GEM! Thank you guys so much.P.S.: You KNOW whenever Im having a baby, you guys are making the salmon for the shower!:)
Just had my Daughters Sweet 16 there and it was awesome...!! The Sterling looks great...!! All my guests were delighted to be there and had nothing but Positive things to say about the Sterling..... Most importantly, from beginning to end, their entire staff were helpful... Bill, Taylor and other staff all are exceptionally professional.... Thank you for making my Daughters Sweet 16 a memorable moment....!!
Our experience planning our wedding here was top notch. The venue is beautiful inside and out. For a Long Island wedding hall we did not find one that could compare to the elegance and outstanding prices that we found at the Sterling. Although our wedding was planned wonderfully from beginning to end with our booking manager Sneha only a phone call away answering every question we had big or small, the plans changed when the Covid - 19 pandemic came out of nowhere. The pandemic arrived in NY the week of our wedding and we were forced to cancel the event last minute. We had out of state and out of country family who could not reschedule flight plans and such for our wedding to be postponed so we ultimately ended up canceling, having a small ceremony with immediate family. Sterling along with their management stayed in close contact with us. We had conversations regarding our late cancelation. They have our signatures on a contract stating that refunds are not given to late cancelation even in the event of natural disaster, but even so the managers we spoke to were extremely patient and empathetic to our situation. Although there was no possibility for us to receive a full refund for our wedding, we came to a very mutual agreement and we feel every effort was made by them to alleviate our unfortunate circumstance. Our event was a stellar and all arrangements were above par.Thank you from Sneha and Yama and we will always recommend Sterling to our friends and family.
I had my engagement/ ring Ceremony here in the beginning of February 2020 and I loved it ! We were in the Champagne room at the Sterling and Taylor was more than attentive to all of our needs. The food was AMAZING and Mary was so helpful the night of. Everyone was sweet and more than accommodating to everything. Yama is who I sat with in the beginning and he was also so understanding of everything. This was the first of many parties to come and it was great to have it with such an experienced hall.
I had my daughters sweet 16 2 weeks ago. It could not have been more perfect! The food was incredible and the ambiance was out of this world. Our banquet manager Diane took care of everything from start to finish and left no detail unturned. Their package was inclusive of everything we needed to make the day special and I found myself stress free and able to enjoy the party and our guests. I will highly recommend this venue to all of my friends and will not hesitate to use them again! 5 STARS!!
I believe the management is not taking good care of the place. The Champagne Ballroom have some signs of deterioration. I also noticed the ceiling was off near the partition wall (from appetizer room to ballroom). They also need to clean those big chandeliers, not only the crystals dont shine but there are many spider webs around crystals. The main entrance appearance is not bad at all, looks great. Couple of years ago, this place was holding the highest standards, not sure what happened. The food quality and taste is average. However i really enjoyed the great selection of appetizers. Finding a parking spot was never been an issue for me.P.S. - Sterling Management, if not in use please drain the pond water it had terrible odor around the area.
We had our wedding here April 20th 2018 and The Sterling did an Amazing Job! From start to finish there were no issues, on the day of our Wedding our Banquet room and every detail we asked for was beautiful and exactly how we asked for it to be done. We had so much food and it was delicious, having the room for cocktail hour and the lounge area was something we’d never seen before and everyone loved it. During our reception we felt so catered to and nothing was left out. I highly recommend them, they truly helped to make our wedding day amazing.
It was great besides the fact that floors are so slippery and wet. The fact there was staff member standing right there and listening to me still didnt think to warn anyone I literally had to warn like two people until they finally spoke up and even I almost twisted my ankle today on the floor. The fact that she knew there was a spill there which is perfectly fine but if you warn someone and she had an attitude and didnt even apologize. Besides her other staff were awesome
The sterling caterer’s is an absolutely beautiful location to have your wedding. We had our daughters wedding here February 20, 2016 on a Saturday night. The venue was absolutely elegant looking. The manager Pooja was very helpful and caring when it came to our daughter’s needs and very sweet and generous through out all of the planning that went into the wedding. Pooja offered us two food tastings which I thought was very sweet when we decided to switch out a dish. The office staff is very sweet and always help answered any questions we had or always reassured us with any concerns we had. We were looking for flowers, a DJ, a photographer and they even included the limo which was amazing. They had everything included in the diamond package which worked out perfect for us because we did not have to worry about forgetting to book anything the sterling staff took care of everything and always guided us through out the whole event. The DJ was excellent they followed our itinerary perfectly we did not have any issues; they even played all the songs that was requested through out the night. The photographers did an amazing job, we chose Max photo and we are very happy we went with them because the pictures came out exactly the way we hoped, very very happy with the results that we received. The champagne room had beautiful lighting and the stage decor was absolutely breath taking, we loved our daughter’s special entrance, it was above and beyond what we had expected. Everything was exactly the way our family wanted. Our guests were very happy with the food and the service they received from the staff they were very sweet and polite as well. If you’re looking to have an easy/fun and memorable wedding and want your guest to have a good time I HIGHLY recommend to check out the Sterling caterers.
I highly recommend this amazing venue. The staff was great and worked hard to make our party special. Every detail was perfect. They truly did an exceptional job. Our maitre d, Scott, was incredible and made sure that everything went great. We used Above and Beyond entertainment services and they made the party fun and lively. Even people from the party in the other room came over to comment about how great the music was. We all had a wonderful time. I cant rave enough about The Sterling.
We just recently had our daughters sweet16 on January 15 at The Sterling and were blown away. The staff was extremely helpful in planning our daughters dream event. We found everyone at The Sterling wonderful, from the banquet managers to the servers. our guests raved about the food that was served. The Holiday room accommodated all of our guests perfectly. The dance floor was big enough for everyone and the kids had a blast with the LED dance floor. The LEd lighting in the room really gave an extra pop. The package we took included everything we wanted and some things we didnt know we wanted. The venue is clean, beautiful and kept very well. Above & Beyond was extremely professional and were amazing during our event. We just wish our party had been longer and that the candy bar, which was a nice bonus, had more of a selection for the kids.
I recently celebrated my parents wedding anniversary at the sterling - Poojaa was amazing to work with - she ensured my parents wedding anniversary was a huge success. She was attentive, thoughtful and great to work with. She made sure all of our guests had a wonderful time and the party was a memorable one!we had a great time , the venue was clean , well-maintained and they made sure we were well-informed of everything!I would recommend this venue to people who want to have their private celebrations as we and all our guests had a wonderful time here .
The sterling deserves zero stars. I dont know where some of the better reviews came from but i can totally relate to the complaints that I have read. My heart breaks for the bridal couple. The wedding was simply terrible. The cocktail hour was sparse, the servers disappeared at times, the food was poorly displayed, and the taste terrible. It was obvious that some things were stale or served without proper temperature precautions. The place was run down and excuses were made for everything. Only one bartender... I can handle it alone ...no you couldnt. The plates on the table were cracked and soiled.... Its only for display. The utensils were dirty.... They were washed. The food at the dinner was not edible....the chicken was tough and the meat was raw. Sorry, we dont have anything else to offer you. The poor bride didnt even get a bridal attendant that she was promised because that person was doing double duty as a server. It didnt matter anyway because she didnt know how to help the bride bustle her gown or assist to her needs in any minor way. The dessert carts were barely full and it seemed like the bare minimum was done to insure their profit line. I have never seen such unhappy attendents. Everyone looked tired and ticked off as though serving you was an inconvenience. I can tell you that most people have to save up for a wedding and want their day to be memorable....in a good way. Family and friends were stunned by the disregard and disrespect for this special event. It might only be one day to The Sterling owners but it was THE DAY for this sweet couple. Guests were leaving and headed for a diner because they were hungry due to skimpy servings or food that was unable to be consumed.
I dont normally give reviews good or bad on the internet, however I just need to get this off my chest. i went to a wedding at the Sterling on 08/25/2018. #1- the butler service? I asked what was the dollop of sauce on the he was shrimp he was serving, He stated he does not eat fish and has no idea! Really that was not an answer I was expecting, #2 the bartender was given a $5.00 tip from a guest at the cocktail hour. during the reception he asked the same guest if they were going to tip him because that guest had a lot of drinks. that should never have happened. this is not customer service. # 3 During the Viennese hour they was a chocolate fountain that the bowls of assorted items were left with saran wrap still left on the bowls. another thing that should not have happened. I could go on and I plan to with the establishment themselves. I would never recommend this place to anyone for any occasion. If the establishment wants to contact me go right ahead. You will get my contact information in writing. this place is only out for what ever monies they can get from people. Go elsewhere.
I was really in love with this place and instead of listening to the reviews I decided to contact them anyway to ask my own questions. They read my message then took two days to respond. The inflation percentage is true so beware. I requested more information and again they read my message and took two days to reply,they requested more information. I sent it immediately and havent heard from them since, that was over a week ago. Communication is key for me and their lack of communication shows that they are not a respectable venue to deal with. Im assuming they are reluctant to work with me because I called them out on how they kept people money during this pandemic. BEWARE!!!!!!
We had our wedding here last weekend, and we had an amazing evening. All my party guest thought the wedding was great, and the vendors that came with the package exceeded our expectations. Our Maitre D was very attentive to our needs, and made sure the brides day went smoothly.The property was gorgeous, and they allowed my wife to incorporate some small details that she wanted for the wedding. They also were attentive to our guest that had dietary restrictions on food they could and could not eat.I wish I could only take half a star off, but the only small issue we had is that we couldnt meet the minimum number of guest that we signed our contract for and were hoping they would throw something in to make up for empty seats we paid for. They however stuck to the contract since it was a package, which I cant fault them on, however if they would have thrown a small extra in there I would have easily given them a full 5 stars for going above and beyond.Overall we had a wonderful evening, all my guest say the same thing as well, and I would easily recommend them to my family and friends.
My wife and I recently had our wedding at The Sterlings Champagne Room, and we were very pleased with the location and level of service. Our event manager Pooja went well above and beyond to meet our expectations, and was extremely patient and resourceful when it came to dealing with absolute wedding planning novices such as us. The food and decorations were top-notch, as were the services provided by the in-house vendors.
We had our daughters sweet 16 party at the Sterling in December of 2013, all of our guests were happy and satisfied. The food was great, the decor nice and appropriate. We liked the fact that we did not have to shop around for other vendors (the package included photography, video and zap shots). The kids really enjoyed the music, candy table and the ice cream. Uliana and Mr. Raj went above and beyond to make our event a success. I would definitely recommend the place to my friends and family.
My wife and I had our wedding at The Sterling on Sept 3 2016 and it was absolutely amazing - the staff was so helpful in every aspect from initial planning to scheduling and made sure everything went smoothly on the big day. All of our guests were raving about how great the food was; its too bad Sterling isnt a restaurant too, cause wed be eating there all the time!The event coordinator my wife and I worked with, Poojaa, was simply the best we could have asked for. Without her help, I doubt the wedding would have gone so well - she was there every step of the day, including the day of. Even if we had a question in the weeks prior to the wedding, she was always a quick text away and it certainly made planning a wedding a very easy task.By not having to go to different vendors for decor and food, the Sterling takes away a lot of the stress that comes with planning a wedding. They have such a variety of decor to choose from and their food is AMAZING. I fully recommend The Sterling Caterers to anyone planning a wedding/event!
Thank u to the Sterling, my granddaughters 17 and Sassy birthday party was excellent. The room looked amazing. The food and staff where great. My family really enjoyed themselves. And I would like to give a special thanks to the Head Matird John McMabe, you went above and beyond to make things right. Thank u for taking care of my sister.
We had a fabulous experience. We read a few reviews that made us nervous to go with Sterling but I worked with Diane and Bill (on occasion) and both were absolutely amazing. They made great suggestions and listened to what we wanted. My only suggestion is to maybe take the credit for photo and video and go with your own preference. We had a terrible experience with that but not Diane or Bills fault.Other than that, everything was great. People are still raving about our entrance and our decor. We are completely pleased.
Had my wifes 50th Birthday Party there tonight. I had a wonderful, extraordinary time. I was told by numerous family and friends that everything was fabulous; the food, the drinks, the service, the layout, the personnel - everything. Bill, Diane, Tiffany, John and other personel - thank you, thank you, thank you.I highly recommend this venue. You will not be disappointed!
The worst !!!CROOKS !!!!! We booked a wedding for April and was paid in full back in January and the covid 19 pandemic Happed. And till this date I’ve been fighting for a refund which they don’t want too. State law says that gathering has to be less the 50 people and I’ve paid for 150 people which they don’t want to refund at all. They offer credit for the remaking which is absurd because their minimum is 150 people booking. So how and when we will be able to have a large gathering. Who knows stay away from them
The Sterling has failed to work with their customers effectively during this pandemic. They are not able to host the party my relative had planned nor are they refunding her. Additionally, they have spoken about up charging her if the party is moved to next year. None of the management staff has been of any help. I do not recommend planning a party here as they make cancelations and effective communication more difficult than it should be. Additionally, they are paying an exorbitant amount of money for absolutely nothing but stress.
We had our twins sweet sixteen here last night. We could not have been more pleased. From the day we signed up with them to the Maitrd who ran the party everything was perfectly perfect.As good asbthe food and room wasnthe people that work there are fabulous. Highly recommend for your next party
This company not only wouldnt pay their bills to us but in all my years I cannot recall another customer who was so rude about it, hanging up, blocking our number. I never enjoyed this place as a guest, felt very pay one price which is very much the opposite of what most people consider luxury. I should have ran for the hills when they placed a service call, they told me if I go to social media they would BASH ME AND THIS COMPANY so I am letting them know, i have records supporting what Im saying, before they make good on what their threat to me, I hope they have the same because I am set to counter-sue and pursue every legal channel I can to make this sad situation right. One of the worst experiences Ive ever had with a customer.
This past weekend, we had our daughters Sweet Sixteen party at The Sterling. It was everything we had hoped it would be. Visually stunning, no detail was spared to create the perfect ambience. The candles matched the theme perfectly. The lighting was beautiful. Everything looked so elegant.The cold displays (antipasto, vegetable crudité, fruit, melon carvings, salads, etc.) were gorgeous and enticing. Everything was fresh and delicious. The wait staff walked around offering assorted appetizers, all of which were tasty. Likewise, the entrées were all delectable and we received positive feedback from our guests. The portions served were rather small. However, one needed only to ask for more if so desired. My husband asked the waiter to keep it coming with one dish and he obliged without complaint.Our maître d, Scott, was exceptional and ensured that everything went off without a hitch. He worked with us every step of the way and was professional, patient and helpful.In arranging for the party, we met with Taylor, Bill and Diane and each were great in making suggestions and helping us to stay on track with the preparations. They were all top-notch and I commend their service.I highly recommend this incredible place for all occasions and events. Our guests had an amazing time and complimented everything. You wont be disappointed having your next special event at The Sterling.
Would never recommend to anyone! Food was extremely salty and not good at all. Chef, please taste the food before sending it out. Heads up management, servers should always wear gloves when handling food! Also, the staff didnt look too happy to be there and wasnt very welcoming. A smile goes a long way! At first look, the place looks beautiful but after being there for a couple of hours I noticed several things deteriorating.
We had our eldest daughter’s marriage completed on April 23rd, 2016 at Sterling that included Marriage Ceremony and Food Catering services. Looking at a couple of adverse comments, we were concerned about their overall services. However, it turned out to be a great event end-to-end.Poojaa was our contact person and event coordinator. She did an exceptional job and could not be done anything more. We found her to be available everywhere for anything we wanted during the entire event. The most important thing that we liked about her is (her) willingness to do whatever we asked and to our surprise she stayed with us until 2 am without looking tired at all. Without any hesitation, we would love to do our other events at the Sterling.
We were invited to a sweet 16 party in Feb at this venue. The scene was quite beautiful with the lights and decorations - basically the whole nine yards. Festivities were fun enough, keeping us entertained throughout the event. The only downside was the incredibly sub-par dinner we had. The buffet was awfully cheap looking and tasted very much so. If it were on ambiance alone, wed come back but the food has us second guessing. Considering we - the majority of the guests - are considered foodies, the rating had taken a serious blow due to the less than delightful meal.
Our best experience ever!! A lifetime of memories and something we will treasure all our lives! Poojaa at Sterling took care of us better than an event management team or personal family member would, she made every effort and left no stone unturned to make sure we would cherish our memories forever!! We strongly recommend every newly engaged couple to check out the Sterling for their upcoming wedding celebrations!!The food, decorations and organization surpassed our expectations considerably. Good looking place. Just enough parking for a Bug party. They dont really know how to deal with guests. When kids were crying , we went to already setup desserts area but they just didnt allow. Some families who already took something, had to leave plates there. All these happened around 10.30PM after main course. Not sure when they were planning to serve desserts, if not at 10.30 PM.
My wife Mary and I recently had our wedding reception at the Sterling caterers. We must say we had a wonderful experience from beginning to end and our guests left in a wow. Although the outside does not have the most breath taking appearance. The inside was decorated to perfection and the food and service was excellent. Our banquet manager yama, maître d’ Michelle and bridal attendant Sammy were amazing and made our special day something we will never forget. I would highly recommend using the Sterling caterers for your event.

I was very happy with Ms. Sneha’s assistance in putting together a nice package for me and help me decide what best for me in the very beginning of my wedding planning, which I really appreciated. Then Mr. Yama helped us in her absence when she was away. I was very happy with Mr. Yama’s service, he helped me making the right choice with all the details of the wedding from room décor to food, selecting cake and other arrangements. He made it very easier for me to make my final selection as near wedding, brides always gets stressed. So Mr. Yama made everything very easier for me to decide and work through other things I wanted. I am very thankful to him. My whole wedding day event went really great and successful because of them. However, only for one thing due to a rainy weather and because of some delays, I was not able to take any pictures outside and inside which I was not so happy with. Then Ms. Pooja come into play, it was so nice of her to offer and accommodate even that for me. She has accommodated me to re-take the pictures after the event and when I went there, she took care of everything so nicely for me. Ms. Pooja’s not only help me with the situation but her encouraging positive words were very uplifting. I am very thankful for that. Also Maitre’d, Ms. Michele was amazing, the sweetest. She took care of everything very well for me on my wedding day till the end, which I really appreciated. All my guest raved about experiencing such a wonderful wedding event, they were so happy with the great food and the great staff service. Overall, I had a great experience and very happy with the outstanding service and care of everyone at Sterling. Thanks for making my event successful. Will recommend to everyone.
Completely understanding all of the “terrible management” comments both her and on google reviews now. We are in uncertain times and the fact that The Sterling Caterers has shown such a disregard for people’s financial situation now is disgusting. My aunt has offered to leave them with the $2k deposit and requested a refund of the $3k that is not due until we rebook and have been refused. No final decisions were made. Nothing on their end has had to been paid for at this point. Why wouldn’t the money outside of the deposit be refunded? She’s even tried to reduce the headcount to fit state guidelines and they’ve refused. I’ll definitely be spreading the word to all my NY brides and event hosts.
The place itself is really elegant, however there is no security at the place. The hall has 3 different rooms. I had an event at this place and there was another event going on at one of the other rooms. The guests from the other room started to fight my guest in the hallway and bathrooms. People from the other hall came out to the hallway with beer bottles like what kind of place allows people to walk around in the hallways with beer bottles. All the guests from the hall have to share the same bathroom with the rest of the other guests from the other events.The only security they claim to have is a doorman who is like 70 years old and one of a female manager who can easily be knocked out and has no security experience. A place that has the capacity to hold about 900 people has not one security, especially when there are multiple parties and people are drinking. They claim nothing like this has happened, however, in reality the place needs to step up their game when it comes to security. The police was called and they didnt do anything to calm the situation so my guest left the hall because they felt unsafe. Then I realize the place was serving liquor to minors. If you dont want your party to get ruined by the lack of security in a hall and want to have a great time I recommend you make your event at a different place where security is a top priority and the guest feel safe. Two fights broke out that night because the place had no security to control the situation. Like really you allow two fights to occur? What kind of place is this. If you want to have a fighting match then this is the place! Then I go to the hall and ask for the video of the place to see how things happen and they tell me the manager named Yama is not in the country that he will be back in 3 weeks that no one else has access to the cameras or videos like really? What kind of place is this? All they care about is youre MONEY!!!!! These people are so money hungry. I have not received a call from anyone from the hall. WORST PLACE AND SERVICE EVER!!!! To future customers youre better off hosting youre event in a backyard!! Dont waist youre time and money in this place!!
Amazing Banquet hall. Would definitely reccomend for all large party type events. My favorite part of the sterling is that they train their workers to always have positive demeanor. From the first moment I stepped in till the last step out the staff was as kind and refreshing the whole time.
I had my wedding here in july 2016.It was absolutely perfect. I had read reviews and at first a little nervous to going in with my wedding. But all reviews are hit or miss and was willing to take my chances esp since i felt the venue was beautiful and fit my price range. And im glad i did.We had nothing but the best of help, Bill and Diane were amazing. They worked with all of our requests and made our day absolutely perfect. John was also phenomenal always close by and extremely over the top in assisting with everything!!We went buffet style with dinner and the food was great we had compliments all night and weeks following our wedding of how wonderful the food and staff were.Thank you sterling staff for making our nighg perfect!!
The sterling tonight has surpassed my expectations. The staff was more than helpful. Everything was great. They made my night memerobable. Thank you Pooja. She IS the best host ever. We attended an event this past Sunday at The Sterling. We were impressed with the variety and quality of the very tasty food as well as the elegant and unique decor. Very creative use of colored effects lighting!! We look forward to going back again soon! Thank you Pooja.
I had my henna event at Sterling and it was absolutely great! We worked with Pooja, Sneha and a few others. My maitred on the day of the wedding was absolutely fabulous he did everything I asked for exactly the way i wanted.I did end up hiring Pooja for my wedding as the day of coordinator however she did not do well there so i would not recommend her- nothing I asked for went the way I wanted and she made a lot of decisions on her own even after knowing what I wanted.Anyway, I would highly recommend The Sterling for your events due to the other all package offers. Its pricey but worth it. All of our guests were left wowd!
We had our wedding at the sterling on April 23rd. From the beginning our experience was the best. We always had Diane there with us every step of the way. She took my visions and turned into reality.The day of the wedding we had Damian by our sides, I was blown away by the way the hall looked, the food was amazing, the DJ the best, the organization and the attention to me and my guests was beyond words could explain. I will definitely return to the Sterling for other future events. I truly thank you Diane and Damian for making our wedding a dream come true.
The good- Lighting was good. Food was pretty okay as well. Good selection of appetizers. The package they offer is better than dealing with vendors separately. The bad - This is a longer list. Pooja is very unprofessional and downright nasty. She tried to overcharge in the end. We could never get everything done in one sitting-- you will have to schedule like 10 trips before everything is finalized. The maitre de did nothing. Half my guests did not know there were appetizers being served in a room. My guests were just waiting by the entrance. The food was served an hour late and the desserts as well (half my guests missed the dessert!) The room where the dinner was supposed to be served was closed ( I had my event in the Conti room), they moved the dinner to another room and it looks like the room in the Conti room was being used as a storage room. It looked like a dump in the middle of the wedding hall. Also, Pooja drove us nuts trying to get the stage the way she wanted -- didnt matter if you disagreed with her odd and bizarre tastes. Overall, I would not recommend them , it saves you a bit of money if you go with one of their packages but in the end its just not worth it.
If you are looking for a venue for a multi-cultural celebration (wedding) do not even consider this place. There was no cultural tolerance for the bride or her family. In fact, most of the staff were down-right rude. The photographer was a tyrant and had no respect for the brides 86 year old grandmother--telling her she would have to wait until pictures were taken outside with the wedding party--despite requests from the bride and the brides mother for family shots. The Christian ceremony, which was represented the bride, had to initially compete with disco music from the room next door. The DJ was the most horrible disrespectful and unprofessional person probably of all the unprofessional staff encountered that evening. Not one song the bride or the brides family requested was played. Instead, techno Indian music was blasted non-stop--even during the serving and eating of the meals 5 courses. Do not let this venue think for a moment they are multicultural or tolerant. Not at all. Formal complaints have been filed but we all know what little that will do as they have already been paid. With that being said, I am getting the word out--dont let them fool you. If you want a horrible headache and buzzing ears, a rude DJ, Maitre-d and a zero tolerance or respect for cultures other than their own kind of celebration, then this is the place for you!! (The DJ, photographer, etc were all contracted through The Sterling). Buyers be very aware!PS: Amanda Arnold (see review below)--you are SPOT ON--consider yourself fortunate that you didnt have to deal with the most horrible, semi-racist DJ.
Came here for my cousins birthday. As soon as a saw the appetizer table I was skeptical and I wasnt impressed by the food presentation either. I worked as a chef and the food here was horrible! When a customer pays you good money, you better deliver even if Its just for a small event with 100 people. How can you serve stale crackers?! Crackers!! As soon as it touched my mouth I was able to taste it! Pretzels should have a snap and so do toasts! The veggie platters were dry and devoid of moisture. I bet you they sat outside for a while. The chicken marsala had a funky taste. Chicken should always have that nice clean taste but yours was probably not stored correctly. Was a box of chicken sitting in the walk-in for days until it was slimy? Do you even label your food? I couldnt eat anything because I dont trust how these dishes were prepared. Some guests were also complaining that the food was bad. One of my cousin even had diahhrea all night! Thanks for ruining a girls 18th bday. Im sure her friends had complaints but wouldnt say it in her face. But as a professional, I say, shame on you for serving disgusting food to people. You should taste your dishes before it even hits the plate.
This place is very LOW BUDGET the outlets don’t work they don’t have chargers anywhere, who doesn’t carry chargers at a wedding venue are you that poor?! Worst customer service ever. . They kick people out of rooms like every 5 seconds, SOME of the staff were nice others not nice at all. Might as well get married in Vegas.
I just celebrated my daughters 17th birthday, I love the Sterling, the food was amazing, the staff were so helpful I literally did nothing but enjoy the party. Alexandra by MatrieD was extremely helpful, she went above and beyond. The Sterling is a beautiful place. I would definitely use this venue again.
My fiancée and I tried to rebook our event here due to COVID-19. They wanted us to pay inflation pricing (5% inflation for 2021, 10% for 2022) and refused to work with us to host the event under COVID-19 guidelines in lieu of rescheduling. Once we requested our refund they threatened us with a default notice requesting additional payment for cancellation. NEVER EVER BOOKING WITH THEM AGAIN, especially after hearing all the bad reviews from other VENDORS and couples who hosted their event at this unorganized VENUE!!
The venue is ABSOLUTELY beautiful, from the ambiance to the decor and the serving staff was courteous and pleasant. There are plenty of scenic locations for memorable pictures: the entrance, the lobby, and the small courtyard are all perfect with tons of natural light. However, the management was extremely disrespectful and unhelpful on the day of the event. When the brides family arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled event time, they were greeted with Youre late and throughout the day, the event manager, (Pooja), would refuse to approach key people for information on the days schedule and demanded that family conversations be interrupted and those people approach her. These were questions that could have (and should have) been answered during the numerous planning meetings that were scheduled prior to the event. The event manager seemed to be noticed at the center of every moment instead of remaining behind the scenes. Overall, the event went extremely smoothly, but this was largely due to the organization of the family and all of the hands-on help that we had.
The place is just WONDERFUL! Oh my God! One of the best wedding venue places I have ever seen. However, the venue is extremely expensive. I have had the opportunity to attend two weddings in this hall. The food is.. oh my God! So, so, sooo good! Every time I think of the food that I had over there, I start drooling.5 Star!
My wedding reception was at the Sterling just this past Saturday April 29th in the Champange room. It is hard to even begin to explain how wonderful it truly was!!!!! EVERYONE is still raving about the decor, the GRAND entrance, the dessert show, our stage setup, and how can i forget the FOOD!??!? I picked Sterling because of the beautiful way they are able to present class, glam, and elegance all in one banquet hall. I actually cried the day after out of happiness of how smoothly and beautifully everything went. My maitd Mary allowed my family to actually enjoy and relax with the guests during the whole night as she took care of everythingggggg!!!! Amazing service. I would not change a single thing about that night. I am grateful for Sterling and their service. Also, if you are easily flustered and stressed like me this hall is perfect for you because they have packages to choose from and it is almost like you one stop shop wedding planning. Everything is taken care of. It is truly wonderful.THANK YOU STERLING FOR EVERYTHING!!!! You completely went beyond all my expectations.
Do NOT book here especially with the COVID crisis. They are handling this situation poorly. They claim they need a 5% fee for postponing to the next calendar year (its not like my salary goes up 5% every calendar year...). Also they will keep telling you they will work with you based on the circumstances and the current situation but they are LIARS. please do not fall for their lies. My friends have booked at several venues around the area- Chateau briand, Hyatt Regency in Jersey City, Worlds Fair Marina, Leonards Palazzo - none of which is charging a fee to reschedule later. A lot of my friends are getting married soon so of course I told them to stay away from Sterling! Do not make the mistake I made.
I had my wedding reception at sterling in 2014. Everything went well from flowers,to centerpiece through food. We had some change in dates due to family situations and were very flexible. The organizer I dealt with was Pooja. Not only did she accommodate my family but my husband as well. Took all ideas in perspective and gave great suggestions from flowers,center piece and food.Was available anytime during the day for my day to be a perfection!Would recommend sterling and Pooja. Yes be prepared to make trips because it is your day and your paying so do make trips to have things the way you want them to be on your special day!!!!
My friend invited me @ sterling. I never understand the taste of food, The given name of each dish had no taste accordingly. Only things was used excessively was spices nothing else.For God sake please dont present such low quality food. It was not worth to eat such food for $90.00 / person.
I sat on this review for a while, but decided it needs to be shared. My husband and I had a terrible experience at Sterling, and I advise others to avoid putting themselves in a similar situation. We were shuffled around between every possible representative they had instead of speaking with one consistent person (and never even met the rep who was assigned to us originally). I can literally name most of their staff of representatives at this point (Taylor, Sneha, Raj, Yama, Bill). I wont even mention that half of them were on vacation while we needed to be in touch with them. Raj was the most difficult to deal with, literally interrupting me and my husband during our meetings, refusing to work with our budget and speaking crudely in business terms with us, I would never open the doors for X amount, it costs me Y just for staffing, that doesnt give me a profit and repeating I dont need your money, we have millions in the bank. He also bad-mouthed another venues food when trying to justify his own prices, which is very unprofessional. Still, we put up with it because of the allure of the packages they offered (which we later found out are not more convenient than simply booking vendors on your own), but when we realized we were misinformed on a major issue on our booking (at their sister location Chateau La Mer) and Sterling refused any accountability, we walked out. There are venues out there that are more beautiful, with staff that is much more professional, and event planning is stressful enough without additional headaches like these.
TERRIBLE management and security. They have ZERO care for the welfare of their guests. The security is off doing God knows what while there is not one BUT two bloody physical fights throughout the night, and multiple people got hurt. The security is clueless to all this, and only came once everything was settled. Management seems to have little to no care on disciplining their faculty, and tending to their maimed guests. 0/10 rating for this atrocious place and their management!
This place deserves zero stars! They have unprofessional people working who knows no manner. They called to ask if we will be attending NYE party, we said asked to get us 5 tickets. Gave them credit card over the phone and now today few hours before the event they call us to let us know they have no ticket. So unprofessional and careless things to do. do not call us and remove us from your call list.
Easy to see right off of Hicksville Road servicing Bethpage and the adjoining areas of Nassau County. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Valet parking is available. Great venue for parties, Sweet 16, etcetera. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. We will definitely be going back.

They really did more than they are entitled to and treated us with the a lot of respect. we had two parties here, and would have more in the future. The venue is absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, the beauty of the venue can not make up for the poor professionalism here. Very bad experience with this vendor!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PPL! These ppl are thieves! I had an event here a few months ago and I was very displeased with how they handled business! They do not care about customer service once you sign that contract and give them your money! Youre simply a dollar sign to them! Every time you call or contact the venue to speak to one of the managers, they are suddenly not available! The owner and/or his family members suddenly have traveled out of the country when you try to get a hold of them! You are treated with disrespect when you voice your concerns. You are ignored and promised things that are never fulfilled. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE STERLING OR THEIR SUGGESTED VENDORS! Its all bad! Ive invested so much money in having an event in this place, only to find out that i have made a poor decision on doing business with these people. Horrible! Put your money somewhere else.
The term RUDE does not do the employees at this place justice. Never have I ever come across such unprofessional customer service. The choices in materials they offer their clients to choose from are sub par at best. The employees do not ameliorate the situation, nor are they well trained in customer etiquette. I didnt know who was worse, Diane, or Yama Raj the florist. They kept us waiting for 20 minutes because they could not arrange the flowers the bride wanted. I would NEVER refer anyone who I knew to this place...and for the people I dont know, I am writing this review. Do Not Waste Your Time. but more importantly Do Not Waste Your Money.
Hi! My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Sterling recently. The whole process was easy and seamless due to their efficient staff and most talented coordinator Poojaa. Poojaa was very helpful and was always available to answer my questions. On the day of my event my guests were all taken care of and i the bride was treated like a queen. To anyone whos looking for a hall to host their reception, look no further as The Sterling Caterers is the place to go. TRUST ME! THANK YOU THE STERLING CATERERS FOR MAKING MY BIG DAY A DAY TO REMEMBER.
DO NOT BOOK! This is an unethical business. They are not offering refunds due to COVID19 and forcing people to keep there bookings along with an inflation price for each year ahead. I posted on their social media and they made it a point to keep deleting the comment bc its true. If it wasnt true they would not delete and would try to do better. Take this review seriously or youll be losing your money in the long run.
Worse experience ever. What they told you on the first visit is not what you got. Diane got offended when we had our food tasting because some food didnt come the way we wanted ; dry and salty ; although the second food tasting was great but on the wedding day a lot of people were complaining that the food was very salty. No video or pictures were taken on the food display and I came to realize from friends and families who took pictures that the food display was like they were about to feed pigs no flowers or nothing !!! really thats not what we saw on the sample album when she was showing it to us !!!Found about the maître D tip the week of the wedding who did not really do anything. When I asked Diane several times if they will have someone to help us out throughout the process; she did reassure me not to worry. that Friday on the rehearsal we had a guy helping us out which was fine but God why would you give me somebody else the day of the wedding who had no clue on what we rehearsed. More upsetting to come on the bridal suite area and asking me questions about the program REALLY who wants to go trough that on their wedding day !!!! when I handed everything over to THEM. So since there was no understanding between the sound engineer and the Maitre D because they werent at the rehearsal ; the ceremony was a disaster; the reception entrance was a disaster.Vendors !!! awwwwwfull well let me put it in the right way ; If you have to take Photo and Videographers and deal with their vendor ; save your money and do not take DUVALThey are very unprofessional. It took me One year and 2 months to get everything . I paid for my thankyou cards which I never received; I had to fight with them so they can replace the thank you cards by a canvas because it was too late to send them; I had to do those pretty Walgreens thank you cards which was way better than their pictures. Pictures were very low quality. I had to send the same e-mail with the pictures # that I want over and over because it seems somehow it got lost in their emails; and it seems that everytime that I e-mailed or called to find about when I will get the pictures they gave me a story ( snow ; sick; away ) and was rude the last time we talk about waiting for a year ; hanged up the phone on my face .About the videos the DVD were very low quality ; like anybody could just download the DVD and just past our name and date of the wedding on the DVD ; ( at least they could have our picture on the cover and the DVD with our name and wedding date ; come on people its 21st century !!!) it also wasnt edit very well ; some songs that I gave to play on the DVD are not even there also I asked the guy to go around and have everyone tell their wishes ; which he did ; but please you could have done a better job by putting it at the end of the DVD not the middle ) which makes the video looks really weird last but not least we had a beautiful presentation that my husband did but none of it was catch up on the video !!!!Well The Sterling Caterers since I have to rate you guys; ill give you one star maybe because the place is very nice and everybody loved itbut otherwise ; when it comes to service 0Not even once after the wedding that I received a call or a personal e-mail about my experience.BAD VERY BAD
Our experience at The Sterling was superb. From our first visit to inquire about our wedding , to all the arrangements in between . Everything was handled in the utmost professional manor. Yama , Pooja , Sneha , Taylor and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating to all of our requests. Pooja deserves a very special thank you as she took care of providing our families and friends , with a beautiful evening on April 2nd 2016. We commend her professionalism and her attention to every detail of the party. Please take the time to read this. This is the truth about Sterling. Bill, the banquet manager and the rest of management will take your money at any cost and will not give it back under any conditions. They have a very vague contract and claim they will only refund you in the event of a natural disaster but this isnt stated on the contact. I have been threatened by Bill in particular for requesting my money back. Avoid this man and this venu at all costs. The whole management team is full of problems. They also do not have security guards at their events. This is against the law for events with kids. This is unsafe and a terrible venu. Any other venu is better than this one. Dont ever come here. And dont EVER book and event with these people. Absolute scam and will never return here for any events.
Very bad experience with management and employees. We were planning to do an even and we were quoted one price includes everything and next day when we went to sign paperwork suddenly they started charging more money. We were given a package for 9000 for 100 ppl on their paper and when we went there to deposit the money they denied to give us the same deal. Please be careful with this place. Stay away from sweet talk of pooja, sneha and all other employees. Because at the end they will try to bump u with extra stuffs. Very poor management and bad practice of doing business
I agree with most of the other posts...completely unprofessional service, in particular, Pooja. She is outright hostile, condescending, and really shouldnt be in the hospitality industry. We used to cater all our events here, and were annual New Years Eve attendees, but the place has gradually deteriorated into garbage. Avoid this place and this staff at all costs.
The waitress that was serving salad to the table #7 had no net on her hair neither was it up in one. I told her that her hair is going in the salad, that is when she went to put her hair in a ponytail. She haf a little attitude when I mentioned that to her. When serving, a womans hair is suppose to be put up neatly and a net is suppose to be placed on her head.
We had are wedding here in September 2018 everything was great I just wish when we got there for a pre shoot we would have got served cocktail hour my wedding party and we started a half an hour late because the staff was still setting up but other than that the wedding reception went amazing
The employees here have a nasty attitude and cant properly answer a customers question. I asked if I was allowed to bring in catered food and they asked me what culture food would it be. That shouldnt matter because the general question was if outside catered food was allowed.
I held my sons graduation party on 21st July .. all the arrangements were nicely done and as I wanted .. food was great and fresh not oily .. the staff especially Mitchell and Puja were very helpful .. only downside was I paid for 13 ppl more as they charge per chair and last minute some ppl though rsvp yes didnt come so if you are not sure dont prepay more as there is no refund .. the charges are per chair but since all went well I give 5 stars.
WORST EXPERIENCE WHEN DEALING WITH A WEDDING VENUE. MANAGER DIANCE IS BEYOND RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL, SHE POCESSES CUSTOMER SERVICE AS A BORDERLINE CHILD. I LITERALLY WALKED OUT WHEN DEALING WITH THIS WOMEN WOECAUSE I HAD TO POINT OUT THE FACT THAT SHE WAS RAISING HER VOICE, SLAMMING DOORS AND CUTTING ME OFF WHEN I CALLED HER OUT ON MATHEMATICAL MISTAKE WHICH RAISED OUR ESTIMATED PRICE BY OVER $2000 WHICH SHE WAS NOT WILLING TO ACOMIDATE AS WELL AS APOLOGIZE FOR IN ANY WAY. AND WHEN ASKING TO SPEAK TO THE OWNERS THEY WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SITUATION, AND DIDNT EVEN HAVE ENOUGH RESPECT TO COME IN AND TALK WITH US. DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPLETLEY UNPROFESSIONAL VENUE!!!!!!

2022-06-14We had our wedding ceremony at The Sterling on May 2022. The staffs and our manager Pooja had been really cooperative throughout the entire time taking into account our feedbacks and working on them. The food was served hot exactly how we wanted especially the fact that it had bengali flavors. Our favorite part was the dessert show. We were blown away! However, one big drawback was the cocktail room was not ready when our guests arrived and that wait period was not appreciated. The decor was beautiful but I wish there was more lighting in the ballroom especially centering the bride and groom. All in all, it was a fun and successful event and we all had a really good time! Big THANKS to the entire team! :)

2021-12-29Had my wedding 12/26/2021. I had the pleasure of working with the manager/ coordinator Pooja she was great. She understood what we wanted and helped us execute it ! The food was amazing the atmosphere was elegant. The day of the wedding Samir aka Sam was our Maitre’d let me tell you he was amazing he made sure me and my wife were comfortable as well as our guests he even helped me get dressed. If you are planning an event visit the venue and ask for Pooja Highly recommend . Thank you guys again for a fantastic experience

2022-01-17Great party venue. Multiple spacious rooms, impressive entrance, coat check, moderately clean restrooms. Modernized dance floors and an abundance of RGB LED lights that help in raising the energy level of the rooms. Superb catering quality - one of the few places that cook a goat curry from premium cuts of the goat and not use the cheapest ingredients.

2021-07-25Great place to host a party. They easily managed our 100 guests. Their food is great and service efficient. They walk through every aspect of the event and the Maitred manages the event on the day to perfection. Bridal room and a chapel separate from the main hall for the party give options to entertain your guests.

2021-12-20Just had my wedding on 12/10 and everything and everyone was wonderful. All of our family and friends had a great time. Definitely suggest the buffet style- everyone was happy and could get as much as they want! The place was also decorated for the holidays, which was perfect because it fit our winter/holiday theme.

2022-05-02OVERALL DISAPPOINTED.POOR MANAGEMENT.Held an event recently and paid for top shelf liquor and alcohol for my guests. The day of the event we found out that the sterling top shelf means BOTTOM shelf and that we would have to pay $8 more per person to get their premium!! We bought individual bottles for tables at 3x the price to serve my family members. The Bartender was very slow on serving my guests. The chefs choice of passing hot hor doeuvres were not fresh they were frozen. We were also told that the cold display would be replenished throughout the night and it was not; and not as great as it sounded. Guests complained about no hot water to wash their hands in the restroom. The party was to end at 10:00 pm and the manager was referencing to The DJ to stop the music in the middle of a dance by tapping his watch at 10:00 pm and demanding to stop the music, the DJ did not and instead played till the end of the song which was only 2 minutes!! Before the song ended the manager turned on all the lights in the hall. I have held several events and have never experienced any of this kind of disappointment.It was a beautiful celebration with my family and friends but complete disappointment of where it was held. I had never attended nor held an event at the Sterling before my event and will NEVER go back!! NO recommendation from us!!

2022-06-07We attended a wedding on 5/27/22. I have to say this place is a hit!Food was exceptional!! Each and every item on the menu was delicious. From Dal makhani to manchurian to gol gappe.. we enjoyed thoroughly!!

2022-04-04The music was much too loud, and it was freezing in the room. No one asked us if we wanted coffee with the dessert . I have to say beautiful rooms and nice people.

2022-06-04Had my 50th birthday there! Loved it so much came back 8 years later for my retirement party!!! Guest loved the space and the staff was wonderful!!!
