Every time I get a chance to visit, it is a pleasure. The staff is excellent. The location is such a relaxed ambience, from live music to sitting by the fireside. The food is absolutely amazing and they have a great selection of cocktails. I love the mountain view while sitting outdoors. I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy this location over all 4 seasons. Never disappointed, except for when it is not open. They even had a plant fair last time we visited.
I had been meaning to try Stone Fox for a while after hearing about the concept (upscale, boozy pizza place), but the actual experience was lackluster. They had no hot drinks, were out of wings, and the pizza was meh. The mocktail and truffle fries I had were all right, at least. Overall, not a good enough experience for the price for me to return, most likely.
For the love of christ please stop singing or else I will bring up what happened on 11 November 2021 to me and my friend Cristina I did not forget and will never be quiet unless you please stop singing you have no customers anyway because of what you did to people like Cristina.
Loved everything about this place (except the pizza... yet!). Beautiful deck! The sausage was probably the most over-seasoned ingredient Ive ever tasted (think Kummelweck Roll, times 3). 5-star renovation! 5-star service. Sausage pizza was 1-star but but plain cheese pizza is great. Pretty small pizza ($12) is about equivalent to 2.5 slices of regular size pizza.May 2020 UPDATE: 3-star service )o: Called to order a pizza but they couldnt be bothered. Thanks for calling... To place an order, go to our website. How obnoxious! Im not a Sea World walrus. Im not willing to do tricks for my food. So I went somewhere else.
Got cheese pizza from here for the first time as part of their $5 special last Friday. Got it as takeout for lunch. Good size pizza. Like a big personal pizza. Actually had some left for dinner. Very friendly staff. The pizza was pretty delicious too. Not quite as crispy as I would have expected for a thin crust pizza, but still good. Would definitely order from here again. I look forward to trying some of their other menu items.
Impossible to call to make reservations. For a restaurant that only serves pizza you’d think they would actually make a good pie but it was on par with elementary school pizza. The vodka pie was disappointing especially after waiting over 45 mins to be seated. The wings were crispy but barely had any sauce. 1/5 would not recommend.
Our first time getting takeout was 2 weeks ago on a Friday night. Food was ready on time. I made it home 10 minutes later and it was still warm and everything tasted fresh; absolutely delicious. After that visit I would have given 5 stars.Today I was elated to hear they had takeout for restaurant week, so I ordered again. This time the food was done more than 5 minutes early. When I come in, the pizzas are boxed up on an open shelf, no heat lamp or hot box. The cannoli, fried cheese curds, and fries are bagged up together on the counter. Same 10 minutes home. The one pizza is room temp and the other is actually cold. The cheese curds had more cheese outside them than in. They were crammed into a box half the size of my prior visit. When I turned it over on a pan to try to reheat them, a cold soggy blob slapped onto the pan. The upcharged vodka sauce was clumpy and watery, nothing like the prior visit. Mind you, the cheese curds and one of the pizzas were purchased full price along with the restaurant week meal. The fries were cold and tasted like they were at least an hour old. I wish I could chalk this up to restaurant week quality, but over half the total spent was ordered from the regular menu and there wasnt a line out the door waiting for their orders. After that first experience, I had such high hopes for a quality downtown eatery. After this latest visit, Im much more worried that its just the latest hip and trendy BU bar. The menu may give off the glamour of fine dining with the option to add caviar to your pizza, but my most recent experience was just bad takeout from a bar.
We ordered two pizzas- one was the Margarita and another was the plain cheese pizza and they were both terrible. First off, one of the pizza boxes reeked of some horrible odor like sh!t and cigarettes. Both of the pizzas were burned at the bottom, and to top it off, the cheese pizza had this gaping whole where it had been burned. One fourth of it was missing. Don’t they feel bad for delivering such horrible looking and tasting food? We ended up throwing away 90% of it. I’m telling my friends not to get food from there.
Stone fox is a cool spot. Doesnt feel like a Binghamton bar, which is a good thing. A little expensive, but the atmosphere and venue makes it worth it. Food and service was good. Outdoor seating is great, especially the upstairs (weather permitting of course). Nice fire pits outside for cooler nights. Indoor seating is limited, which might pose an issue for seating patrons over winter. Overall, I would recommend, 4.5 stars
Please note that this is a rating based on a take out order and using the restaurant week menu. With that said, restaurant week menu items always seem a bit different than items off the regular menu And Everything we had would have fared better if we had eaten them at the restaurant. What wasnt so good; the fries of one of the orders were not included. As this is one of the courses of the 3 course meal, simple counting should have identified that an item was missing. The pizzas lost their wood fired crispness in the boxes, though the noncrisp crust tasted pretty good. And all items appeared to lack the artistry and love that normally goes into making pizza when you are passionate about your craft. And the salad was dumped in the takeout box from the mixing bowl, completely upside down, though for a Caesar salad, the taste was good. The cannoli were small but tasty with a nontraditional coconut taste evident, though the test was still pretty good. One cannoli was very soggy (floppy, even) and mushed. The tiramisu was small but very tasty.High points were 1. The order was ready precisely when they said it would be ready. 2 the taste of the tiramisu, 3. the wood fired taste in the non-crip crust, 4. the reasonable amount of basil on the Margarita pizza, 5 The cheese curds and sauce 6. the taste of the upside down soggy caesar salad. And 7. the potential for amazing things from a wood fired oven that they have just started to include on their menu. This restaurant is still going through its growing pains and realizes that they need to get the food out on time. But has lost the love evident in the presentation of food items produced at most non corporate pizza joints. With such outstanding wood fired pizza at Joeys in Endicott (along with their cannolis), such phenomenal salads as are at Core Life Eatery in Vestal and Great Fries at Lost Dog ( possibly the best anywhere, though fries cooked in Duck Fat are supposedly better) this restaurant has not yet provided the niche that will keep me coming back, though I will try it again at some time in the future.
I walked past all summer as they constructed this restaurant, and its finally open. Ive lived in Binghamton all my life and Ive seen restaurants come and go however I really think this one is special. I mainly say that because the atmosphere is just awesome, it faces south and west so you get this awesome sunlight coming in all day (and sunset in the evening) and the view of that weird building with the hole in it just looks awesome. The upstairs balcony is really nice too, and the fire pits are really cool touch on a cooler evening outside. Even though there are not that many things to choose from, what they do have is really tasty and affordable. Plus during restaurant week I was able to get dinner for $15 which was really a bargain for the quality of food. I recommend taking a walk downtown and checking this place out, there is loads of room for social distancing. Needless to say the people who work here are really helpful and kind. This is becoming one of my favorite places in Binghamton. I have to say though that the only issue that I have with this place, and it is a total nitpick, is that their indoor painted sign that says STONE FOX is just a little bit crooked with the letters on the left not being the same height as the rest. It always sticks out to me since its in such a prominent place. Fix that and the place would be perfect :-P
We order during restaurant week. If the salad is the same size as normal then it was small and pricey. We also ordered the Buffalo pizza. It barely had any chicken on it and was kinda bland. I would suggest chopping the celery too vs big ribbons of it. Overall I felt it very pricey for the amount of food we got.

2022-07-03We came for the Thursday $2 Mug night and $5 wings! There was a very talented musician named Tom Sless playing that night. The wings are quite good and the $2 drinks are dangerous as they are not water-ed down at all.

2021-07-30My son and I enjoyed a nice meal at The Stone Fox. Our hostess Jaden and server Crystal were very professional and helpful. The rest of the staff was very nice as well. The menu was a bit limited, but the food was good. They had a lot of pizza choices and a couple of salads as well as a handful of wing choices. However, no burgers or other sandwiches. They did have a nice drink menu.We ate outside and it was pleasantly decorated with flowers and trees. A really nice spot and worth a visit.

2021-06-16I have dined on their patio many times. The location is great. The food is flavorful and many evenings they have specials. The night we went was $5 margarita pizza and $3 yuengling draft special. With ample lighting and fireplaces to sit around outside, this place is great to sip n eat any time of the day.

2022-08-03Held my sisters baby shower here and it was great! We had the freedom to decorate and had a mini buffet of family style salads (summer berry is 😍), a charcuterie board customized for gluten free eating and an array of pizzas. It was fun and Aaron was very welcoming and accommodating to our dietary needs. Highly recommended!

2022-08-07The food was great, very delicious and unique pizzas on the menu. The issue, however, was the extremely slow and seemingly random service. They brought out a salad and two pizzas first, followed by drinks, and then the third pizza 30 minutes later, even though we ordered everything at the same time. The server never apologized for the wait, just saying repeatedly that the delay was “crazy” and “borderline ridiculous”.

2020-11-09Great outdoor atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good pizza, a little pricey. Pizza is thin crust which taster good but you need one per person. Would come again when the weather is nice to sit outside.

2022-06-17To the people who are just looking at Highest ratings. Please considering reading the lowest ratings too. Everything in lowest is so true. Worst pizza ( bad taste and burnt pizza). $10 alcohol doesn’t taste good too. $2 beer is a scam; ask what you are paying for.

2020-11-23Tried out Stone Fox during their $5 pizza special. I did like how friendly the staff was on the phone when I called to order and the pizza was good, but wish it was crispier, especially for being thin crust (which I love). I definitely will give it another shot in the future!
