Very nice restaurant the scenery outside was gorgeous, wish we had table cloth on our table though but I loved everything but my food honestly but I still ate it so it wasn’t that bad my husbands food was far better he got steak. I’m expecting so my palette is very picky. The appetizers were great though loved every bite. Overall very nice. Besides seeing a rat climb into the gazebo. Then again we are sitting outside by a lake in a park it’s bond to happen just wish it didn’t when I was there lol.
This place is beautiful! We were here for a wedding and had an amazing time! The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food was out of this world. Normally at weddings there isnt enough food. This is the first wedding Ive been to where there was so much food. The salmon was cooked perfectly and in this amazing sauce. The salad was phenomenal. Highly recommend. It was a great evening all around.
I would really give 0 stars! I would not suggest the buffet!!! It was so gross. We had a 6:30 reservation. It seemed like the food was out since 10. Everything was cold and did not taste good. The white cream sauce was sour. The salami cheese platter was rotten. It was all brown and the cheeses had a hard coating. There were all things in the salad dressings so we couldnt use it. The fruit was warm and brown too!! All the desserts were old too and the people were touching everything! Their sangria even sucked. I will never go back there again and the bill was $1,500.00. 🤮
Location location location. This little secret in Clove Lakes should not be overlooked. Before or after a meal take a walk along the lake for some peace and admire nature. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. They have inside and outside (or at gazebo) seating, overlooking the lake. Romantic and delightful to eat here.
We came here for Sunday brunch and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were extremely kind, fantastic hospitality and they gave us the best seats in the house on the outdoor gazebo that faced the lake. Their menu is really excellent with something for everyone. I am vegan and gluten free and there was plenty to choose from. Its such a lovely place and you definitely should enjoy a walk through the park afterwards.
I rarely ever leave reviews, let alone bad ones but this place was disgraceful. I recently started a gluten free and dairy free diet due to some health issues so I rarely eat out. I saw this restaurant and checked the website and was very pleased to see they advertised on their menu that they accommodate people will dietary restrictions which include GF and DF. I even called in advance and was told most things on the menu can be substituted to accommodate our diet. When we got there we were seated and it was absolutely beautiful. The waiter had a bad attitude but we won’t even get into that because people have bad days sometimes. Anyway, we stated immediately we had some restrictions and the waiter suggested we get salads… we didn’t want salads. I was limited to one dish which was absolutely the blandest pasta I ever ate in my life. There was no sauce or seasoning or anything…. I would understand if the restaurant was busy but it was practically empty. I wouldn’t complain if they didn’t advertise that they accommodate people with dietary restrictions.
Me and my friends had a very disappointing experience at the Stone house restaurant last Sunday. First let me say that I used to come here a lot and the food and atmosphere is still amazing what I cant say about the service. The way our waiter Carlos Ortiz talked to me when I asked him a question about our bill was very rude and totally not professional. I was the only one from our group of 5 who ordered from the brunch menu. The brunch deal of $29.99 included 1 drink which could be a cocktail from the brunch menu or a glass of house wine. During my entire meal I had 2 glasses of sauvignon blanc which I assumed was a house wine since I never had a chance to see the wine list and my waiter never gave me options for wine. So I was very surprised when I saw that I was charged for both glasses of wine in the bill. When I asked Carlos Ortiz if they charged 1 glass by mistake he told me in a very unappropriate tone (literally screaming at me) that he already helped by not including one of my friends drinks in the bill (which I also doubt) and its not his problem that I cant pay my bill!!! Im literally still in shock. Its obviously not how you expect to get treated at a nice restaurant like that. For sure not coming back or recommending to friends.P.S. below attached the copy of our bill.
This review is not for the restaurant but for the management. I called several times to make reservations for a staff of 20+. Was promised a return call but none was forthcoming. I went to the restaurant hoping to speak to the manager. The secretary told him that I was outside wanting to speak with him. He told her 20 minutes. I waited over a half an hour and he never came out. I called and was told told he would return my call in 10 minutes. I never received a call. Big turn off and so disrespectful. He blew at least a $1000 bill. I wont be calling back.
First time here. It was everything I was looking for. It’s in such a beautiful location a little island on State Island. Even in the winter it looks great. I love the little walk over the bridge to get to the restaurant. Service is friendly and gracious. The food was spot on. The lobster tail is one of the best I’ve had. Amazingly tender. The shrimp and steak was great. I’m glad we found this spot and I can’t wait to come back
This place is amazing. The service at first was slow(getting drinks ordered) but once we ordered the service was fantastic. The food here is awesome, I had an eggplant dish which was great and my fiance had the filet which was a little overcooked but it was still very tasty and tender. We ordered wine which was a really good malbec and the bottle was very reasonably priced( 50ish) to start we had a beef stick which had a great marinade and a strawberry salad.
It was kind of embarrassing because I brought my bf here for the first time and the servers were tense. The front desk lady sat us outside in the front like who the heck wants to sit there with the lake in the back? I dont know what is wrong with them.I had to get an attitude with them to sit by the lake.
The location was beautiful! The food, drinks, and dessert were all great as well! However service was below average. The waiter walked away a few times before we finished telling him our order; at one point one of us went to him to have something added to our request. The servers were gathering by the bar rather than tending to their tables. We eventually walked our check to them after waiting for 15+ mins.
Sat waterside for an excellent meal, probably the best dining experience available in Staten Island under current conditions! The last time we ate under the tent out front, which was also quite nice except for the music being cranked up slightly too high through tinny-sounding speakers.

At the root of these challenges is maintaining consistently a high standard of food and hospitality. This is key to longevity and success. One way we address the aforementioned challenge is to train our kitchen staff on how to prepare our dishes, right after Ive developed the new dish. Even if it’s not a dish typically prepared from that person’s station. To further aid our team, we created a recipe book with pictures and a description for each and every menu item..One of the things I value most is creative freedom amongst our team. An environment that is conducive to creativity will ultimately be an incubator for unique and exciting dishes as well as elevated service ideas. How to do this? In one word - LOVE !! Some people rule by fear, some people rule by respect, but when you truly love your team, they love you back! Love is the greatest driver for someone to do the right thing and take pride in their work..I want people to experience, a dining experience that marries the warmth of a cozy stone cottage with gourmet contemporary American cuisine and impeccable service. I live for creating dishes that are innovative and unique. There is nothing more satisfying for me than presenting food in a way that someone has never tried before and watch them discover it’s deliciousness. ~ Peter (Chef & Owner @thestonehouseatclovelakes)
Beautiful dining experience all around. They offer both indoor and outdoor tables. Weather permitting you should choose outdoor due to great views on the lake. Food was great and the staff was friendly and attentive. We recently went on a weekday evening and they were nearly empty but can get very crowded on a weekend in the summertime.
First of f let me say that my 4 Stars is not meant to say that my visit to the Stone House was bad in any way. It just means that it has potential and deserves a second visit at a later date. Here goes. My wife arrived and dropped off the car at their valley parking lot and were greeted by a pleasant kid who pointed us to the entrance. When on the property, we were greeted by the rustic atmosphere of the old country. There was a fountain at the center of the courtyard and a gazibo which is there for weddings. As we entered the front door, we were greeted by the hostess which recalled me and my annoying personally and yet did not make a deal of it. We were given the choice to sit in the main house with the rustic old cottage feeling to it or to sit outside on the patio. Let me tell you that both choices you will not regret. We chose the patio which overlooked the lake and the wild life. The view is great. The baby loved looking at the docks and the turtles swimming in the lake. The cool breeze was welcoming and the staff were polight. Another thing use the patio if you have little kids. Fresh air and nature keeps them entertained. For the food. The price is $$ and is worth the every penny. I wanted to get seafood noodle dish but was concerned about the spicy flavor since I was sharing with the baby. The waiter was polight and offered an alternative which was a good choice. And my wife chose the fish fillet with veggies. In my opinion, both dishes were not too big, but hit the spot. An as for the baby, the creamy noodles from my seafood dish went over spectacularly with the baby. Over all, I will take my wife and will update the rating to 5 Start.
HORRIBLE experience!!! Left 4hrs after being seated late, because dinner was still not served!Of course we still had to pay hefty tab sans prefix tip which she refused to pay because we were taking our cold dinner home(she left $40 anyway for wait staff). My daughter made reservations for 4 two weeks ago for mothers day dinner and was called twice to tell us we had to arrive early so that we could be seated on time, never mentioning the paltry prefix dinner($65+). When we arrived it was a zoo crowded with people face to face who had been there for hours because the restaurant made reservations for every half hour. My daughter asked if we could reschedule reservations for the following week and was rudely told that her credit card would be charged $50 if we left. Im 82 years old and she didnt want me standing. There were only 4 filled chairs in the cramped waiting area. After 45 minutes we were seated upstairs in the chefs loft (a joke) were there were 3 wooden tables, dirty, no tablecloth, no bread dishes, and stale bread. We waited another 45 minutes for drinks, another hour for scanty and cold appetizers, and at 8:30 still no dinner! We asked that dinner be brought out in take away bags which took another half hour before we could make our hungry escape. GREED and no regard for customers should not be rewarded and hopefully they will soon see there demise. Better restaurants have gone under during covid because they did not CHEAT their clientele.
Walked in for an early Sunday dinner. They were just cleaning up after a party, so the staff was scattered a bit. Plus, it was the start of service, so no big deal. The crab cake was lackluster, but the cowboy steak as well as the seafood fra diavlo was fantastic. The perfect ending to the meal was the Granny Smith creme brulee... Just wow. It was like a creme brulee and an apple pie had a baby, then that baby grew up to be a DJ and then hosted a concert in my mouth.First time at the Stone House and we both left full and satisfied. The menu is priced right, the service was good despite them being a bit stretched thin after a private event, and although the appetizer wasnt the best, it did not represent the delicious meal that followed.
I made a brunch reservation and was not told that the price would be 65.00 per person for a 4 party group. The brunch menu had items which came with an additional $15.00 supplement fee as if the $65 dollars was not enough. When I got the bill there was an automatic $60 dollar gratuity fee. All this money would not have mattered if the food was any good. The appetizers were good but the main dishes unfortunately were terrible. The atmosphere was ok. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The waiters were friendly and attentive but seem to be rushing you to finish your meal to make room for other customers. Needless to say I will not be dining here again.
What a beautiful venue for any occasion! We recently enjoyed an amazing funeral luncheon in the Patio area overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful ending to an extremely sad day. Nastacha is the event planner who is extremely efficient and made the planning process a cinch especially since we didnt know an exact total coming back after the burial. The food was delicious with so many menu options to choose from and the staff was terrific going above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. Thank you very much! I will definitely be booking future parties here for sure!
Went for brunch and the manager of the waiters comes and gives us a snappy attitude trying to rush me and my party to order as we’re having a conversation. I got the cookie batter pancakes and you would expect a side to come with it like sausage, bacon, etc but no. Just the pancakes. Then when dessert came a piece of fruit had fungus on it. We told the waiter manager and he rolled his eyes and walked away. He didnt even apologize. When the bill came it didnt have any discount on it or anything. To top it all off, they rushed us to order and when we left, we were the only one sitting. No one outside waiting or anything
I went to an outdoor bridal shower today, Sunday Oct 17th. Upon entering the park I thought I was lost. There was no where to park & was told I would have to valet. I advised the man my car was filled with bags. He told me there was a golf cart. My things were loaded & we were on our way. The man driving the cart advised me the cart was not working properly. Seemed very sketchy but it got me & my bags there. The tent was up & looked nice. I didnt understand why the sides were open as it was windy & chilly. All the guests were exposed to the wind. As the party was in full swing it started to rain. No staff was to be found. Guests were running to grab gifts from the tables to bring under the tent. Finally staff came out & we asked them for towels that we never received. We asked for tables to be moved so guests would not have their backs to the rain. They didnt do it. We were told they had heaters in case it got cold, those were not received. After guests complaining the event coordinator came out and seemed to not care. Well it looks like the rain is going to stop & do you want the sides up??? SERIOUSLY! Yes were cold & wet. She then walked away & never checked in on us.This all was completely Unacceptable! I honestly hope that these people get a majority of their money back. I will continue to share this horrible experience in hopes to save people money & tainted memories.
Did not enjoy the experience. After making reservations and giving my credit card info so they could/would charge $50 per head for cancelation , I had to wait 45 minutes to be seated...in the rain. Yes, I understand it was Mothers Day but that doesnt give the right to overbook so blatantly. There was no social distancing within the restaurant. The food was decent but small portions. And they had a Mothers Day fixed menu that was way more expensive with less options than the regular advertised menu. And our party of 5 was automatically charged $86 for a tip and the service was extra slow. I dont think I will be returning.
I love this place I took my fiancee for brunch last Saturday and the waotors were so professional and restful. Ezekiel was so pleaant and nice to talk to. The. Croissant sliders, mimosa, angus burger was delicious. The ambiance was so great. We were the first one with reservations and before you knew 40 unexpected people came in with no reservations. It was beautiful day to spend it at the restaurant. The wedding planner Katherine is so warm she was busy that day. Douglas that November when we came to celebrate our anniversary it was pleasure meeting you and when we were told you may not be opened I prayed outside and placed my hands of the walls of your business for God to give you favor.
The views at this place is what makes it so great. The service is great and the food is good also. If you are going out to a restaurant and want to enjoy the beautify of nature then this is your place. If you are looking for amazing food at a normal price or getting take out then look somewhere else.
One of the most horrible experiences Ive had.Ive come to this place multiple times, yesterday I went with a group of 11 people and requested to be seated by the water which I was told would be fine. When we got there the host seemed like she was miserable and had very little experience in hosting. She was beyond rude and on her cell phone as we waited to be greeted. Upon arrival we were told we cant be seated by the water, so we asked if we can sit inside if we can not get the seating requested prior to reservation. We were told we can not sit inside because they were expecting inside to be reserved. We were sat at a tent filled with bugs outside the front of the restaurant. As the night went on would check inside and nobody was inside, empty tables all over. We also had to fight to put two tables together for the family to sit together.Horrible host, the waiters were very accommodating and if it wasnt for them we wouldve called in many complaints. We feltLike we were treated unfairly.-Steven
The menu for Mothers day is really overprice!! I didnt mind to pay 64.95 per person but I ordered the Filet Mignon and the charged an extra $15 dollars surcharge and it was small not worth it!!! The only reason I gave 2 stars is for the Sangria and the waiters theyre really nice!!!
I’m only giving 2 stars due to the great service and nice location. The food itself was at best subpar. With so many good restaurants in New York I’m shocked that many rated this place with 5 stars. It’s a shame because I went back here more than once really wanting myself to like this place due to its location.
I have ate dinner here many times and the foods always great. The service is good and the scenery is nice. I recently had my wedding there and the process from beginning to end was phenominal. Everyone raved about the food and drinks. Service was great and the staff catered to us very well. Katie keenan was our even coorindiantor and if anyone is looking to have an event I would recommend speaking with her. She made the process very easy. I hate planning things and to have someone do it for me was a big plus. Thank you to the staff of the stone house for being awesome.
We always read reviews, but rarely write our own. Im telling you,....these reviews do not do justice to this place!!!! 5 of us, all skeptical because of our research, still decided to give this place a chance for a Saturday night dimmer. Were all glad we did! Food was outstanding, steaks were all quality cuts, fish was fresh and tender, drinks were flowing and fun, but most off all the service was incredible. Edgar was attentive and smooth. Never needed anything more. Im not sure what happened to others, but for our first time, it was enjoyable, with all of us definitely intending to return. Starting to doubt the credibility of the reviewers. Try it for yourself.
Our waiter was great, very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. And the view from the gazebo was lovely. This place would be five stars except for the craziness of the parking lot (not good, even with valet) and the lack of rest rooms. There were four large parties when we were there - hundreds of people there at the same time. But all the women were directed to use only one bathroom with two stalls. The line stretched into the bar area, across another partys buffet.
I attended a holiday party last month at this beautiful place. And, I can tell you that this is a five star place for sure. The mood was happy everywhere, and the place is well maintained. Staff were fast serving, polite and helpful. The food was ethnic that was especially prepared for this Middle Eastern party and was really authentic and good. The place is located with a lake which I am not sure if it is natural or artificial but did not matter as the scenery was gorgeous. The bathroom was clean. The only thing I had an issue with was that the mens room is very small and did not capacity to probably handle the large number of visitors that attended the party. Still I enjoyed every moment I spent there and got home with lots of beautiful memories and photos.
Service was terrible, slow inefficient.Took 30 minutes to get 2 drinks . A Martina and a glass of Cabernet .Appetizers just Average .Had Crab cake and Tuna .Tuna had no wasabi . Low grade tuna . Not AHI TUNA (On to dinner ... New York strip steak was supposed to be prime but Ive been into this business so I definitely dont think it was prime it was so so, the cowboy steak oh boy it wasnt a real cowboy steak I mean you didnt even have the long bone you didnt have the thickness ordered it medium rare , it was well done had to send it back.Second steak 🥩 ok .The young girls , Nadia , Maria and Sasha hostesses were awesome .Total time there . 3 1/2 hours!!Thats Three and a half hours. Not acceptable! Then they got the check all wrong but I dont even want to get into that I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible I will never return to this place theyre not a high-end restaurant .I used to go to this restaurant all the time when it was the lake club when Gene and Pat owned it and it was very very different this place didnt even have any specials zero specials they got to up there gameGood luck ....
The location and ambiance were great, although the dining room was a bit noisy at times. The food was delicious. We ordered from fixed price menu which included appetizers, entree and dessert. Prices were very reasonable for the fixed price menu. We were not rushed and enjoyed a very relaxing evening. Will definitely return.
Gift cards cannot be used on Saturdays or on particular meals, absolutely absurd. Food is great but service ruins it. Waiter Carlos intentionally avoided our table and gave awful attitude. Was there for roughly an hour and a half and he came to our table briefly only TWICE. Asked for drink, did not receive yet the table directly next to ours asked for the same drink and received within seconds. Was helped more by the man cleaning tables then our own waiter. What a shame. Beautiful restaurant and scenery, as well as great food but the customer service makes this place look awful.
Went for Father s Day buffet, patio area overlooking the Lake, a very lovely late afternoon view. Service was superb, attentive. Somewhat pricey for a buffet, but the food choices were good, fresh shrimp, steamed veggies, pasta, desserts, including chocolate for dipping; all except for the roast beef, a little sinewy. Coffee was excellent.
Horrible experience. Steak was so fatty it was like rubber. One of my friend s dinner was incorrect and took 15 minutes to rectify, leaving everyone elses food to get cold. Same friend advised that the short rib was dry. They did finally offer a round on the house for our inconvenience. This was after waiting 40 minutes from our last round of drinks.Portions are small ,especially the Steak special and its side dishes.Barely saw waiter.
Went for MY NIECES BABY SHOWER on the 1st & IT was WONDERFUL!!! From the 2 VALET GUYS working the ENTIRE parking lot themselves to the WAITER & BUSBOY STAFF offered in the BEAUTIFUL DINING ROOM with the SERVING of the DELICIOUS FOOD DESERT & MIMOSAS...I can actually say that this SPECIAL EVENT celebrated at the STONEHOUSE was ONE I HOPE to EXPERIENCE again!!
Very nice setting with very good food. Service is attentive and efficient. Its a nice place for couples as well as groups. Oysters Rockerfeller and Clams Casino for appetizers do not disappoint. The Halibut entree is excellent as well. Conversation is easy at the table as the noise level is low. While its not a knock your socks off awesome foodie experience, it is a very pleasant evening out.
When I arrived to your restaurant to cheer my daughter up after a bad day. I walked in and the hostess looked at us and turned away not saying anything we waited until she finally gave us attention then she asked what did we want.I was shocked at her lack of hospitality. I certainly was not there to do laundry, so I then asked if reservations were needed. I looked and saw that the restaurant had only two ladies sitting alone. She then said oh, oh no and then led us to a table facing a wall. I told her that I disliked our table and requested another. She then walked away as if we were unimportant.I have never been treated like this in any other establishment. I hope this hostess will get some training on hospitality for any other potential customer.
Had my daughters bridal shower on August 14 .it was a very hot day A/C wasnt working, guest were very unconfortable and could not enjoy themselves my shirt and pants were soaking wet Called restaurant a couple of days later said I was very dissappointed.was offer a $500 dollar gift card which I accepted. They said they would send in mail. Now 2 months later have not received gift card.Very disappointed they didnt keep their word.
My family and I went today to celebrate Fathers Day. I originally booked a reservation for 11 but we ultimately were a party of 12. When we got there the table that they had ready for 11 was only big enough for 8 people. At a cost of $45 per adult and a little less than half of that per child, they intended to seat us like sardines in a can. The Reception staff were very rude and unaccommodating. Ultimately, they set up for us a larger table outside by the water however, not before much frustration, arguing, and threats from the staff that we would be charged whether we decided to stay or not. The variety of food was satisfactory but I have great concerns regarding safe food handling. The employees at the pancake and omelette stations, although using gloves to pick up the food items, would intermittently go into their pocket with the same gloves to grab a rag to wipe their sweat from their foreheads. Needless to say we will never be going here again.
Sat outside. Seems always to be a baby shower happening the three times weve come. Food is excellent. Portions are great and the presentation is outstanding. On the pricey side but definitely worth it. Service was very friendly and at a good pace. Would of like to have umbrellas out by the tables outside as the sun can beam down on you quite a bit in a few spots. Parking can be tricky especially if theres a party going on.
You will absolutely not be disappointed!!!!!!! I wish I had known about this restaurant sooner. The food was nothing short of amazing! The attention to detail, the ambiance, live music, a truly hidden gem. Will definitely be returning on a regular basis. The restaurant is stunning with breathtaking views. Almost makes you forget that your on Staten Island. The service is excellent and my waiter was awesome. Just an overall amazing experience.
Went to the Chefs Loft for a tasting and had a wonderful evening! I am not too adventurous when it comes to food and some of the items on the menu seemed a little out of my comfort zone but everything was delicious! Great wines as well. Wonderful value for such an upscale dinner. We will certainly be back!
Delicious brunch! The waiter was nice but someone else brought us out the wrong drinks. The waiter never came by to see if things were ok so we just drank the drinks. He did realize at some point because he eventually brought over the correct ones. other than that small error, the meal was amazing, they have The best brunch burger!! The ambiance is always great. I enjoy the music. Cant wait to go back
Just had dinner here tonight! Food was good ,service was good! We had purchased some gift cards we were 3 couples they gave us a hard time saying they only except 2 gift cards? How is this policy? First off our bill was more then the gift cards so we still had to add money to it!! The waiter ran out of the place saying you can’t pay with all these gift cards.. we said why? You can only use 2.. I asked why only 2 get me the manger.. he never came back! As I stated before the bill was higher then all the gift cards so money was added.. why have gift cards if they are going to limit you to only use 2 per table when you are a party of 6 or 8 people!! Not sure if I will come back and eat here again🤬
Last Friday night we celebrated by daughters 30th Birthday with a cocktail party given by her husband. The food and service was excellent. Peter was gracious and attentive of our needs, as was the entire staff. Our experience was one we will never forget. A great time was had by all. Thank you so much. Cant wait to return for a delicious dinner!
4 of us went for dinner last Saturday evening around 7 pm and were happy to see a nice crowd and how nice the place looked. Our excitement was short-lived. It took us almost 1/2 hour to get a drink. It was a very long time before we got our appetizers and a time to get our entrees. We looked around and noticed others were in the same position. We actually thought about getting up and leaving. One table did have who we think was the owner/managers attention. Only one waiter working and the bus boys were not on the ball. Had to ask for bread after a long time. Crab cakes were delicious (not hot though) and the entrees were all good but doubt if well be back in the near future. The owner/manager should have seen the waiter was overwhelmed and at least helped out and made sure we had a drink, some bread or our food was on the way. He paid no attention to us and another large table. Hope someone pays more attention to the customers.
Just had dinner at Stone house not impressed by no means. The staff was attentive but then I could say they were rushing us at the same time. I had the lamb shank which was tender but the sauce/gravy with root vegetables had really no taste. My husband had short ribs and didn’t care for it at all . We did have appetizers and they were ok. Moral of the story is we won’t be back. Sorry to say.
This place gets some stars for the location/ambiance - the restaurant is really pretty and in a great location. The park surrounding it is very nice and great to walk around in after your meal. Just make sure you set aside plenty of time for that meal.I went for a brunch service on Sunday with two other people. We made a reservation but that wasnt really necessary as it wasnt packed. We did the prix fixe and things started smoothly - although the server said hed come back later to take dessert orders which proved a key mistake. I got the jalapeno-cucumber bloody mary and it was actually pretty good - I recommend it over the regular one where the vodka was overpowering. We got the entrees and they were just alright. I did the salmon BLT which really shouldnt exist - the bacon didnt add anything to the fish and just made it overall fattier for no reason. The bottom of the sandwich also got incredibly soggy and I cant tell if that was because of oil or moisture. My girlfriend got the lamb burger and the toppings were good but the burger was also incredibly moist - Im pretty sure it was a frozen patty which is fine but at least have them thawed before a service. What was strange is that my sandwich came with sweet potato fries but the burger came with regular fries and the menu doesnt indicate that fries are even included. The server didnt ask us which ones we wanted. They sort of just showed up. My mom got the smoked salmon tacos which were actually a pretty clever take on salmon and lox but could have used more flavor. This is where it goes south as we waited for our waiter to return to take our dessert orders. And waited another half hour. Eventually we had to ask a busboy to flag down our waiter who emerged looking confused and admitting to having forgotten about us. We placed our dessert orders to go since we had already been there so long and settled up the check. The punchline is that later that day we opened our desserts to find that instead of the parfait we ordered we had gotten the cheesecake. As we were exploring the lake after our meal we saw they had a large catered event going on in the back which is maybe what led to the distracted service. Who knows? I may give this place another try in the summer for dinner but definitely wont be returning for the brunch. The poor service takes mediocre food and makes it a bad time.
By far the worst customer service I have ever seen. I walked in with my 10 month old daughter and niece who is 11 months. It was me and my brother with his wife. We ONLY walked in because we saw the happy hour sign. 2 people helped us set up outdoors knowing we asked for the happy hour. As the waiter walked over at 3:30 (happy hour 3-7). He refused to give us the happy hour option due to it being out doors .. We have 2 babies that just fell asleep. We asked for the manager. The restaurant was empty. The manager proceeded to tell us we are too cheap to pay for the regular menu and he would make more money if other people came and took our seats. i am appalled at how we were treated and we left without ordering anything. Now we know why the restaurant is usually empty.
Ambiance was great, appetizers were pretty good. But the main course our party of 6 was split down the middle. But steak was stringy, and tuna was nothing but salt. Pasta was good, and apparently so were scallops.Dessert was pretty decent, but after not eating the meal, felt really small.
Terrible, the gift card is SCAM. My friend sent me 2 $50 gift cards for this restaurant, and I took my family to eat there. We had the Sunday Brunch. When the bill came, they told us we cannot use them for brunch, not on Saturdays, not for this and that...on and on. Its a SCAM. People paid real money for the gift cards. We have never experienced any other restaurants that do this horrible thing to their customers. We will not eat there again (way over-priced menus for low quality food and bad customer service).
Celebrated Mothers Day here. The brunch selection was phenomenal. Best omelette Ive ever had in my life! Service was impeccable. The staff was incredibly welcoming and very professional. Returning to visit the Chefs Loft and take a boat out on the lake. Thanks again Stonehouse!
This restaurant is a hidden gem on Staten Island. It is tucked away on the grounds of clove lakes park which provides wonderful scenery during your meal. The service here goes above and beyond to make sure all of your dietary needs are met. The food was exceptional and will definitely come back here again
A few friends and I were fortunate enough to experience the well heard of Chefs Loft, and our expectations were beyond exceeded! The intimate aesthetics combined with amazing food made this occasion unlike any other. It wasnt just a dinner it was an experience! From the high quality service of the staff to the perfect pairings of food with a new exotic wine in each course, we were definitely on our toes excited for what the staff had prepared for us next. The chef and owner Peter was so personable, kind, and professional as he prepared each delicious dish but still made sure to greet every individual table. His demeanor definitely made the experience that much more unforgettable! Stone House is a hidden treasure on the island!
Slow service, mediocre food including a roll served with a pat of butter in a plastic single serving (who thinks this place is upscale?)The halibut wasnt accurately described on the menu - no hint of dijon, and covered in a creamy crab sauce (not crab crusted) I wasnt expecting. The fennel was overcooked to mush, and the fingerling potatoes were fine, but bland. I had to ask twice for ice for my sauvignon blanc (which was cheap and not very good) and then also request a spoon to put the ice in the glass. We passed on dessert. As we left a rat ran across the path in front of us.
Easter buffet, slop and more slop, lowest quality food ever at this price point!!Waiters were incompetent, while the manager hid. General consensus from other people I met after dinner was the same. The way that the buffet menu was written it sounds great, but in reality it just good marketing.Thank God I didnt take my wife here Valentines day
We booked the Stone House for a 40th birthday party for my daughter.. We asked for the ROOM that was outdoor near the water... the day of the party, we arrived to find out they set up our tables on an outdoor PATIO, and a baby shower was being held in the ROOM we had requested. ...The problem is it was raining out and there was no way we could use the patio which was NOT what we booked... they tired to set us up in a tent with no heaters... we were freezing... the service was terrible... we waited 2 hours to eat after complaining we were freezing and ALL the heaters were not working ... the hostess Kate came out and told us the heaters were causing an overload... she was rude and totally unhelpful ...so sorry we ever booked there... never again ... we were the “forgotten party” ... the only bright spot was our waiter, Matt... he kept telling us how sorry he was for the bad service...I would NEVER recommend this place ... EVER!!
I have been there a couple times. My last experience was the worst. Aside of the food is overly priced, the main dishes were terrible for all of our 4 orders. The salmon was extremely dry, the pork was too salty, and the halibit was lacking flavor. In addition, the server never bothered to check on we are doing or how the food came out.
Didnt know what to expect going in since Id only heard lukewarm reviews of the previous establishment and owners. That being said, me and my girlfriend were complete blown away by the ambiance, professionalism, staff, and food. The new owners completely revamped the place and built a new menu from the ground up.Ive been a restaurant enthusiast for quite some time now, and in all my years going to different establishments nothing quite equaled the experience we had sitting on armchairs by the fireplace, sipping mulled sangria, and digging into a culinary feast. Thanks to Pete and his staff for providing an amazing anniversary dinner for us! Well be back.
The Lake Club is a great restaurant to have brunch/lunch/dinner or attend a special event. The staff is extremely friendly and they do a great job at making you feel comfortable and welcome. The food is always delicious. During my most recent visit I had the Salmon Filet and it was fabulous. Everyone in my party ordered a different entree and there were no complaints. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make the Lake Club one of my favorite places to eat.
I had my daughters Bridal Shower at The Stone House and was very pleased. From Katie (the event manager)down to the valet attendant, everyone treated us with the utmost attention and courtesy. Every food course was delicious, and everyone raved about the cookie mousse dessert. Thanks for making this special occasion a memorable one.
Went to Oyster festival on 8/16/16. Great spread of raw oysters and clams. Many different types of oysters. They could have used a lot more ice.The lobster roll was excellent. Pretty place to eat. Outdoor area is on the lake bucolic views. They ran out of some of the hot food. The hot dishes Calamari, fried oysters, rice, soup shots with shrimp were all excellent. It was for a great cause. I recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant is cozy and has outdoor seating. Make make reservations via their website which uses open table. The food is very good and so is the service. They have price fixe menu for dinner with many choices at $28.99. They also have a lunch menu but its only until 3 pm. I would recommend the pan seared flounder on basil risotto and a light tomato sauce at $26.99. Parking can be problematic on the weekends but they do have valet parking.
Its May 8 2016 mother day. I just left the stone house restaurant with my mother. The food buffet was like something I could have bought at some common deli or less and the price was 15X the amount. I unfortunately payed $150 for crap thinking I was going to get good food. If I was the owner of the stone house restaurant I would have used the money to make the restaurant, place, and food a better reputation. Considering I payed $150 × the amount of customers they get a day, the low crappie quality food and tiny place they have. Im guessing theyre getting way more then giving. I didnt count the scenery of clove lake park because if Im not mistaken they dont own it and last time I check the park is FREE FREE FREE. Im very disappointed in stone house restaurant. But I understand Nice people finish last and I guess I look easy to fool maybe thats why they didnt tell us the price before we ate and when I told the staff that I didnt know and wasnt told about the price, and that i didnt get a menu. They just made it seem like I shouldnt ask those kind of questions. I hope that they apologize to me and my mother and give us a refund. And/or at less make stone house restaurant better. That means bigger place, nicer staff and much better food. And the money theyre taking they could do that in 1-2 months or less no excuse! OR the restaurant can be closed down and a new restaurant with staffs and owner that dont have a hand so far up theyre ass that they look like puppets.Sincerely HARRY
I have enjoyed the stone house several times- the food is always good the help is always good as well. Heres the problem the weddings- I live in the fountains and the noise level is absurd! Why they think it’s ok to blast music until midnight I will never understand. It’s obnoxious! And I’m a big fan of loud music in the proper venue. But there are a lot of older people who live in this building and they deserve to be treated better. A 311 complaint is my next stop. Honestly the owner I’ve heard is a great guy but he needs to reevaluate the noise factor and keep it down and out by 9pm
I booked a table for Mothers Day through Open Table. When I got to the restaurant, my reservation wasnt in the system. There was a table available, however. Once my mom, daughter and I were seated, we were given a different (and pricier) Price Fix menu than the one listed on Open Table. I was told this was the only menu (which I learned, was not true). I could have left but it was Mothers Day and I wasnt ruining it for us. After dining, I went to the ladies room, where I saw the four DIFFERENT price fix menus. I asked to speak to the manager. Doug came to our table. I explained the situation. Rather than deduct anything from the bill, he asked me to email him with the details and he would respond. Well, I have sent four emails since Mothers Day and left two messages. No response. I emailed Open Table the same day and they got back to me immediately, giving me 600 dining points, which is better than nothing. I have put off leaving this review but am very disappointed by the lack of a response and a lack of professionalism. The place is very pretty. The food was decent, not exceptional for the price. Maybe it will take me writing an honest review, to get a response. We shall see.
Food was not good, very uneven. This was an advertised (and expensive) preordered menu. They ran out of several items and just cut the top part of the menu off, did not offer cut in price or substitution. When we asked our waiter he said it was just our bad luck. Food was poorly cooked and not as described on menu. Then they charged us $5 a piece for our coffees that were on the menus as included and only took the charge off after much argument. I will NEVER be back. Noisy, overpriced -- and utterly graceless service that ruined what was supposed to be a special celebration with friends. I considered contacting the authorities over their bait and switch and fraudulent advertising but they whisked away the evidence before I realized what a problem it was. AVOID THIS PLACE!! They are only interested in ripping you off. Our letters to the management complaining of our terrible experience went unanswered as well.
Took my wife to the Stonehouse for our anniversary last night and all I can say is wow! The food, service and ambiance were all top notch. I had the lamb shank, which was absolutely amazing. It was so tender that I never had to use my knife. My wife had the salmon. I dont eat seafood so I didnt try it, but she hasnt stopped talking about how good it was. We will DEFINITELY be back.
I took my wife there for her birthday. It really is an amazing place. We had reservations for 6, but got there at 5 for happy hour (3-7pm, specials at bar only) It was a Wednesday and not crowded at all. The drink specials were great... Luis really knows how to put the drinks together. My wife got the berry lychee martini and she said it was to die for. Heck, I even liked it and Im def not a martini guy. The red sangria was really good too. It tasted better straight out if the glass rather then sipping through the straw. I would have liked more fruit in it... like pineapple chunks and such, but it did have apples and orange in it. Since we had a dinner res we didnt try any of the happy hour apps so I cant comment on that, but if they are even close to as good as our supper was, then they are delicious. We ordered off the Prix Fixe because it just seemed like a better deal. I wanted the 1/2 roasted chicken. Off the reg menu it was $24 and came with heirloom potatoes, string beans, and (a light) pan gravy. Off the Prix Fixe menu it also comes with a starter (I got stuffed mushrooms) AND a dessert for $29.95. Im not the worlds smartest guy, but to me it was a no brainer. Prix Fixe aaallll day! My wife got the pork chop with sweet potatoes. It was kinda spicy, but she likes it hot so it was all good for her. For her starter she got some kind of lobster bisque. It had pretty nice size chunks of lobster in it was was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. She moaned so much while eating it I started to sweat a little ( insert when Harry met Sally here) She said it was the best she ever had. Even though I dont like seafood I tasted it and it was really good, but just not for me. For dessert she got the chocolate layer cake and I got the butter parfait thingy which was outta this world good. Plus it came in a little mason jar which is more my style. After we were finished, we took our drinks outside and sat in the gazebo on the lake. It was just a really great evening. Oh yeah... before we decided on the Prix Fixe we ordered the Pear and Blue Cheese empanadas. These things were soooo good I cant even tell you. All in all the total bill was $113.00 before tip. Its a little out of our range, but we dont go to places like this all that often and it was a special occasion. For what we got ... food and experience wise ... It was well worth it. The place itself sits on Clove Lake and when you park, you walk across a stone bridge. You can rent row or paddle boats ($15/hr.) and also walk around the park. Totally cool place that we would both recommend and visit again. We are from Jersey (exit 117) and the drive was a breeze. A little traffic on the way there, but no biggie. We headed home around 930pm and the drive home was cake. If your looking to try someplace youve never been before, this is the place. Iy did start to get busy around 7. If you do try it, we hope your experience was as good as ours. God Bless.4X4
I brought my husband here for his birthday. We had eaten here once before and had a very positive experience. This time however, proved to be very disappointing. My husband ordered the porkchop, which in the description, only came with carmelized pineapple. When it came out, there was a side of smashed sweet potatoes which my husband doesnt eat. Hes never liked sweet potatoes. We were very confused. I asked one of the staff if it had mentioned that in the menu because I dont recall seeing it. He told me it does and asked if I wanted to see it again. I said no, but later changed my mind. When I did look again, it did not list sweet potatoes. When I called that staff member back, I showed him. He then told me that it wasnt supposed to come with it but the chef thought the plate looked too empty and just added it, as if hes doing us a favor. So, first, he lied to us about it being on the menu, but then he defends his chef for changing the menu. What if my husband was allergic?? Why not ask us if wed like regular mashed potatoes or French fries? Aside from that, my rice was so hard. It didnt even taste cooked. We wont be returning.
I was taken here for my birthday and let me say that this place is amazing! I highly recommend the shrimp cavatelli, the flavors in that dish are to die for! The burrata was out of this world, all kinds of flavors one dish and make sure you get some extra bread so you can dip it in that oil and balsamic mix after youre done with the burrata. For dessert, I recommend the sugar cookie parfait and a sugar cookie cappuccino. All around, the atmosphere is romantic and the decor is beautiful inside the restuarant. I loved this place! Definitely coming back. The staff is very attentive as well.
Food was very good although our waiter charged us for more cocktails than we had, a cappuccino we ordered and did not receive., and knew it, because when we called him on it he justified it saying well I didnt charge you for a beer.Really,? we have to be on guard when were dining out with friends? Our bill before tip was $320 after we called him on over inflating. Consumer beware!
Mothers Day Brunch was horrible! Overpriced for the amount of food which was served undercooked and cold. Service was awful! Topper was valet driving my car like a lunatic and getting the interior full of mud!! I realize we had a week of rain but at least try not to trash someones car! Then hear people in the lot saying the valet lost their car. Waiting for 25 minutes! Seriously dont waste your time & money!!
Me and my fiancé had dinner here Wednesday night....,, the service was amazing. We had the fried cauliflower, stuffed mushroom, and burrata salad to start....all amazing........ For dinner we both had steaks, cooked to perfection..... Special thanks to Luis, Miguel, and Victor for making our experience memorable
I have been to the Stone house 4 times in the past 2 months. Each time the experience gets better and better. The food is AMAZING! The staff and service has been great each time weve been there. The place is very cozy with the fireplace in the first room with a beautiful layout. The new owners have definetly made this place one of the best in Staten Island if not all of NYC. I highly recommend this to anyone, you wont be dissapointed.
Went for Sunday brunch with a large group. Good food, good service, great atmosphere in a beautiful park. Lamb burger on brunch menu was great, fries were perfect, cheesecakes and mousses all awesome. Although tbh I spent most of the time drooling over the cute hostesses. Was slightly hard to find, Google nav is a bit off on location, entrance is on Clove, look for big Stonehouse sign. Parking was relatively smooth but I can see it being a mess on a busy day. Its a nice spot, Id go again, the only thing thatd keep me from going here too often is its a bit on the pricey side.
Service was gracious and professional. We shared a delicious goat cheese and beet salad, thick, jucy and very tasty pork chop and a fruit plate. Coffee was good, (not sure it was the decafe I requested). My friend had the Nutella cappuccino and loved it. A guitar player was delightful, not too loud. While I wont order coffee again, Im going back as soon as possible!
Went for 11:00 brunch with wife and daughter and tried to sit inside but the music was too loud and inappropriate so we sat outside near the lake but the music seemed to follow us. At one point a song had so much obscenities in it we almost got up and left. At times the music was blasting and most times it just seemed like someone was chasing the customers away. Obviously the owner wasnt there and the idiots who are running the asylum have no idea what the atmosphere of a Sunday brunch by the lake is suppose to be. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.
A favorite of mine here on Staten Island. Chef Botros has designed a menu featuring something for anyone. At brunch I had the potato omelet which was prepared and served in the way it is done in Spain. The corn and cheese miniature muffins were delicious as were the desserts.
The waiters kept pouring wine that my party guests didnt want in order to jack up the bill. Also, they did not offer me the left over buffet food from my party to take home. Are they reserving it or throwing it out? So wasteful if thrown out! When I spoke to Doug he was not accomodating at all. Last party I have there.
What a great experience and dinner at The Chefs Loft. A little secret within a secret at this SI gem. The Stone House is located in Clove Lakes Park (think miniature Central Park and The Boat House). Beautiful setting on the lake. Inside the Stone House is The Chefs Loft, a fine dining experience located on the second floor over looking the main dining room. Here Chef Peter Botros privately prepares a five course dinner paired with wine. Butter poached Lobster was amazing! Will definitely come back to try next months new menu!
Not the worst, but not worth going there again. We took a guest there for Sunday brunch. This is a buffet style brunch. High noise level from conversation and loud music. Service was pleasant, but inexperienced and almost non-existent. No one asked us if we wanted coffee or tea until we were about to leave. They offered refills for coffee, but never asked if the tea-drinker if she wanted even just a bit of hot water. The food was hit and miss. They had one poor kid manning the only hot food station--eggs, and the line was long for that--way too long. And the eggs were overcooked. Lots of veggies, and other cheap foods. The chafing dish salmon was not good at all. There was a party going on in the room that one enters first, with their dessert table (very tiny) being set up AGAINST THE TOILETS!! You had to walk between the desserts (open, cut up and on little dishes--no server there to keep them clean) and the bar in a space of about 30 inches to get to the toilets. This meant that people were bumping up against the food that the party-goers were supposed to eat! And on the floor next to the dessert table? A used latex glove--like the kind one cleans the toilets with! Yuk!So for $100 before tip, we had some industrial mini-muffins, some salad, an overcooked egg, a cup of coffee, and a mimosa (that wasnt too bad). Next time well go to MacDonalds.
The guys messed up my small wedding royally, although I do admit they did everything to fix it. Food: quality is good, but for Gods sake - dont order family style banquet. Those guys have no idea what family style is, and they mix up seafood and meat and vegetables on the same plates. High prices and good servers, great views. Spoiled management.
After coming to THE STONE HOUSE in January for the first time for a 40th birthday party I was very surprised with the excellent service and quality food. The meal was delicious and the atmosphere is unlike any other ive experienced in staten island. Since then i have been back with my Fiancee quite a few times and have enjoyed every single visit. The service, delicious food and overall experience has been consistent everytime. I highly recommend this restaurant for any of your lifes milestone/ occasions or just simply a delicious relaxing dinner! I will definitly be back as well.
Attended the bridal party of Michelle Steiner on Saturday, June 13, 2015. I was so pleased witht the food. The quality of food was surperb. I have attended the restaruant prior to this experience, but considering there were approximately 80 women, the service and food were great! It was a great party thanks to the good food and friendly staff.
From beginning to end, my wife and I had a great experience. The setting is perfect, and the fireplace sets the mood. We had the filet mignon satay (with peanut sauce) and the fried calamari with sweet and sour sauce. Fantastic! The Caesar salad was excellent and our filet mignon and lamb were prepared perfectly. And for dessert, you have to try the cookie butter mousse. I want 2 days ago and I already want to go back. I came all the way from the Bronx, and it was worth the trip.
You never know what happens in Life , but I rarely take a first date to a Nice and Perfect setting like the Stone House on a Saturday evening, everything was perfect, the Service and Atmosphere was great, my date ordered the Salmon, and I ordered Pork Chops...both dishes were very tasty..All i could say is that If Me and my Date workout and become more significant in Life, The Stone House will be our Anniversary Place..Take chances, you never know..
Small cozy venue located in a park. Easy to drive to from main road to enter parking lot but can be overcrowded during weekends and hard to park for events. You cannot park directly at the venue. There is no access to enter. You will have to walk over a small stone bridge to get to venue then you will see venue directly on the left. The bridge is a picture taken area. During day hours can be crowded with people taken pictures in spring summer and fall. Parties outside the front of venue or within are held. Well organized staff.
I came to the Stone House after many months of wanting to try it. So I decided to finally request it as my birthday dinner! The dinner menu overall looked clean, diverse, and flavorful while offering just the right amount of options to chose from, as well as a prefix dinner (I think this is a great way to try a place out).My boyfriend and I started with some oysters which were beautifully shucked, clean and fresh. So good!I got the prefix which started with the calamari which was so perfectly fried and seasoned that I didnt even need the dipping sauce, followed by the tilapia with string beans and forbidden rice which was really very nice, then finally my favorite part dessert! Flourless chocolate cake was on point, the whipped cream, fruit purée and the fresh fruit were all great compliments to each other.Another dessert: For those that want to try something new, theres a cookie mousse that will blow your face off, essentially its a ginger cookie (for those of you familiar with cookie butter or speculoos!) lightly whipped mousse topped with cookie crumble. Its so painfully delicious. The service was amazing, so personable. If you have seen the place from the outside, you can imagine how beautiful it is on the inside!
This is my first time at tht Stone House. I was present for a graduation celebration there & had a. spectacular time. The surrounding views & gazebos set for smaller groups to gather in were amazing. The service, as well as the tasty cuisine were exemplary. From the minute I arrived till my departure the waiters were super attentive & warm. All of this was accompanied by the romantic sounds of Don Vivelos Jazz Ensenble, which made for an exquisite evening. I would definitely dine & consider holding a private event here in the future. A Torres
Terrible. We made a reservation for fathers day, no one mentioned that it would be outside and in the sun. No umbrellas, no shade of any kind. We asked that they switch the table, it was 85 degrees outside, 7 people dressed for brunch and the table was in direct sunlight. Hot, burnt, sweaty or sick, no body cared, this is the table the others are reserved for other people, theres nothing we can do. Manager came over and sang us the same song, we literally walked out on our fathers day reservation and will not be returning here.

2022-02-23We started out by having lobster bisque which tasted great and the pieces of lobster thrown in were cooked to perfection and buttery. Then we had our entrees my friend had one of the specials the tuna steak with risotto she said it tasted great, I had the seafood medley which had a array of seafood mussels, shrimp, lobster-which was great except my lobster was a bit chewy, and the sauce was watery- but the flavor was there. We had some amazing cocktails - and to finish we tried the creme brûlée and the cookie butter mousse both were great but the cookie butter needed a little something more. Over all the service was great, the flavor of the food was great, and the restaurant has this charm that is breathtaking now add some music from a solo guitarist to enhance the mood and you have the perfect Saturday night ambiance.

2021-10-24I really can not recommend the Stone House enough. If I could give it a 10 star rating I absolutely would. In fact, I wish I was there right now instead of at home remembering how good everything is here. The service is always wonderful and the atmosphere is very relaxing and charming. I always enjoy my time here immensely and immediately start planning my next trip as Im walking to the car.The most recent meal I had here with my family for my birthday is definitely one of the best of my life. The butternut squash soup was so rich and delicious that I was sad when I finished it. The strawberry salad was full of flavor and my mouth is watering just thinking about how good it was. My vegetable pasta with chicken was incredible and the cookie butter mousse parfait was unbelievable, melt in your mouth, perfection. After youre done reading this you should immediately make a reservation here, you wont regret it!

2022-05-30Just ate at the Stone house yet the views are pretty and desirable it’s not what I’m going to eat. While to start the drink was good. I would have to say the entree was horrible shrimp and lobster chewy. My fork that I received after my place setting was clear after the appetizer was dirty and unfortunately for me I didn’t realize it till I was done with my working through the saltiness of my food. My fork has chocolate cake residue on the handle part. No excuse for that. They weren’t even busy so between the over cooked shrimp and lobster and dirty utensil. This will be the last time I’ll be coming to this place

2021-09-13The place is a pleasant restaurant right in Clove Lakes Park! Food is fairly reasonable with entrees starting in the low $10 range up to the mid $40 range. I went with two other friends and we had the shrimp scampi lunch special, halibut and lamb chops. Service does take a while though and is spotty. Food was great though.

2022-02-20What a wonderful and pleasant surprise visiting this restaurant for the first time on an intensely cold day. It is a must to come back again. The hostess was welcoming. The service and food were excellent. The atmosphere was romantic, particularly with the fireplace going on.Ive tried creme brulees all over the world, but the Granny Apple creme brulee at this place was the most spectacular I ever had.

2022-05-26My husband and I have been visiting The Stone House for years, specifically for special occasions and holidays. We were getting married so it was a clear decision to book a dinner reservation months in advance at The Stone House to celebrate our most special day with our family. The day of our dinner, it was a very hot and humid day. We booked a photographer to take pictures of us (me in my wedding dress and my husband in his suit) on the grounds. During our photo shoot, a family member told me our table was seated outside. We were very displeased and shocked that we would be seated outside on such a hot day and didn’t want to be uncomfortable especially with family that have health issues. We were then moved inside, upstairs, with little to no ventilation or air conditioning. The entire time our whole party (of 14 people) were very very uncomfortable. We voiced our concern multiple time to the staff who stated they would take a look and put on the proper air ventilation. The staff were VERY inattentive and unfriendly. They took extremely long to clear off our plates and refill our water glasses (which happened maybe once). I am saddened this caused a damper on our special day. We honestly couldn’t wait to leave because of how hot the environment was. We didn’t even receive one congratulatory wish, again the staff was very unfriendly and a displeasure to deal with. Not one apology on their behalf. This is how you run a business? Then to top it all off, they butchered the wedding cake we had delivered there, didn’t slice it neatly at all. We basically helped ourselves to clean plates and utensils that were stored nearby. My husband and I will never visit The Stone House after this poor experience, you sadly have lost customers that were loyal to you for years. The gratuity wasn’t even worthy of the 20% that was tagged onto our bill which we did speak up about. I wouldn’t recommend this business to celebrate your special day or special occasion especially when they aren’t accommodating to a small party. Two thumbs down 👎🏻👎🏻

2021-09-03The setting really is quite nice. We dined outdoors and were treated to a nice view over the lake with a fountain. Here outdoor dining is separated enough from street noises that only natural sounds are heard. The indoor dining room was welcoming in its own right. I ate roasted chicken which was quite excellent, being tender, juicy and tasteful. Service was good and helpful; when I ordered mashed potatoes as a side dish the waiter suggested I could substitute that for the included roasted potatoes. My fellow diner asked for his meal prepared in a particular way to accommodate a temporary condition and the waiter was similarly accommodating and checked that his dish was suitable once delivered to the table.

2022-04-12Stopped by for dinner. While the waitress and service were great, the choices in the menu and the quality of the items ordered are less than desirable. I ordered a spinach salad, sliders and a cosmopolitan. There was gravel in the spinach salad, the spinach was wilted and the olives were tasteless. The m at in the slider was undercooked. The bar tender needs more experience. The cosmopolitan was less than desirable. The coffee was good. I do not recommend this place.
