Came here on a Saturday night and my friend had arrived here before me. I joined her table and the server was right in front of me and failed to acknowledge me. He seemed to be chatting up a local, which isn’t a big deal but atleast be attentive to your customers. After about 15 minutes I was finally able to order a drink, the cocktails tasted good but were very weak and had barely any alcohol. The chicken tacos were tasty. Overall it was a nice little spot, but they need to improve their service and not cheap out on the alcohol on there cocktails. There are plenty of options around, I rather go elsewhere.
Really delicious cocktails (I recommend the Governor!). It is a little pricey for the neighborhood but their happy hour makes it more reasonable. Oysters are delicious as is the rest of their menu. There is a small backyard area with benches and cute lighting. Ive also always had great service here.
Came in on a Wednesday evening for happy hour. They have some solid drinks, and for $6-7 you cant go wrong. Their small plates are very good, as well. Tried the BBQ pork sliders and the buffalo chicken sliders, and they were delicious. Definitely want to come back and try some of their other original cocktails. Friendly bar and wait staff, and the music selection is pretty well-curated, as well.
Great little bar on Ave C. Extremely laid back and very nice bartender. (Wish I had gotten his name...very nice guy with curved up mustache!) Drinks were on par and reasonable priced. (I am from NOLA so drinks are very expensive there!) Will definitely be back when I visit the East Village again.
Wow this place is the best! Came here with 5 friends on a Sunday night, not too crowded, which was great bc we wanted to catch up and hear each other talk. The best and most surprising part of the evening was our bartender Warren who remembered all our names, and graciously served really tasty cocktails ($7) and sliders ($7) from their happy hour menu. Pleasantly delighted, will return again!
Loved this bar! Although its far from mass transit, its got a great interior, fast service and friendly bartenders. The craft drinks are delicious & many of them are included in happy hour. When its not happy hour, the drinks run normal city prices, which is a bit more expensive than youd usually expect in alphabet city. Also, from what I saw, there was only 1 bathroom.
Great Happy Hour! Fantastic cocktails for $7 - i had the Guvnor. - and half-doz oysters for $7.50. Also the Pork sliders are delicious. They do something very special to the red cabbage that makes it sweet and juicy. So good. Definitely come here for Happy Hour. The bar itself has a chic-rustic decor, all exposed brick and eclectic finishes, such as the half-bottle lampshades on the lights hanging from the ceiling. Im told they renew the bottle-shades when they get a bottle with a story.
Fantastic bar. This bar characterizes what it means to be in the Alphabet City part of East Village. Its local, trendy, and comfortable. Wait staff is great. Drinks are spot on. Music is interesting and quite pleasant. The ambiance is perfect to mingle with a friend or go on a date. Its intimate and quiet enough to speak in a normal voice. As a patron, I feel connected to the place when you step in the door. To top it off, the décor and furniture fit super well with all of my above statements.
Never felt more welcome as a neighbor than at the Summit. Casually went here with 2 of my friends on a Sunday, and we ordered the oysters, sliders, and a happy hour drink each. All of them were great, especially high complements to their tasty happy hour drinks! What we got in addition was an entertaining bar staff who kept the jokes flying and even inserted some fun filled debauchery. This is my new neighborhood bar! Make sure you say hi to Corey on weekends and Mondays, hes a top tier homie for sure!
Summit Bar is ultra cool. It is exactly the type of bar that my girlfriend and I like to go to. Very friendly staff, delicious cocktails and fun/chill music. Always a great time, always happy to be there. If you look at the bar, they have the best versions of each type of liquor. Thats probably why the drinks are so good. Its a simple formula that most places somehow get wrong. They get it right.
On a ten day trip to New York, The Summit Bar was one of our favourite local experiences. The staff are incredibly friendly and up for a chat, the drinks are amazing and the fit out v cool. The happy hour is second to none and would recommend getting a plate of oysters and multiple old fashioneds.Appreciate it guys. Keep up the good vibes
This fancy cocktail place may seem out of the way, tucked over on Avenue C, but it is worth your while to make it over for a visit. The bartenders are warm and the cocktails inventive. It can get a bit cozy later at night, so come early (before 10) and find a spot to stay for a while. Note, they often have private parties, so can be hit or miss if you can get in.
The drinks are fantastic and the bartenders are great. The only reason for four stars is that Ive been three times now and the music is always so loud that you pretty much have to scream to hear anyone. Id love to go back but Im tired of yelling and leaving with a tired voice after just half an hour.
Ambience is great for a date, though the music on the weekends makes it almost impossible to hear other people. The crowd is mostly young 20-somethings, and tends to exclude the belligerent drunk sportsbar goers that plague a lot of NY bars. The cocktail menu is actually really great, and despite its location (there are other bars around, but in my opinion, none quite as good), its worth the trek for one of their unique cocktails. There is one with roasted red peppers, for instance....or Charmagnes star, which is delicious. If you come early enough you can see them prep everything, which is an experience in itself. Candles all around and the water is cucumber water. Additionally, the service is great.
This narrow watering hole in Alphabet City really delivers in the cocktail department - so why were there groups of d-bags ordering shots of Jame-o and vodka sodas on a recent Saturday night? Steer clear on the weekends and head over when you can actually enjoy the well crafted beverages - the joint is a true gem but you need to be able to score a stool and sip your drink when its not too crowded to fully appreciate it. A small selection of bite are served, but youre better off pre-gaming it here and then heading elsewhere for dinner.
Summit Bar is one of the excellent establishments serving up delicious cocktails and a good party scene. Located right across the street from The Wayland, they offer a range of classic and original cocktails designed by Greg Seider (who also did the drinks at Prima), most for the modest price of $10. You can relax in the small garden area out back, grab a seat at the long bar that runs the length of the space, or gather round one of the Yamazaki barrel top tables that dot the rest of the room. Were partial to the John Lee Hooker, which includes both scotch and bourbon, and is topped off with beer. Just go with it.
Love the ambiance and inventive drinks. This is a mixology bar with strong drinks.I had Vieux Carre which reminded me of New Orleans because thats the first place I had it. Very strong drink. Also had a whiskey drink similar to a whiskey sour, it was delicious. Also, great snack food to go with the drinking.

2022-03-18I love this spot and the hospitality shown every time my coworkers and I visit here. I am a particular conscious person when it comes to eating. I always have questions and ask if things could be a certain way prior to ordering. This last visit I was on a break from consuming, oil, flour and few other things. They accommodated me with this dish and I was in heaven.Let me be CLEAR the original dish is just as good. Set up the same way but where the cucumbers are is where the pita bread is and the oil is set in the middle of the hummus.I also dont consume alcohol and they made me some great mock tails. I definitely didnt feel left out being here with my peoples. So check them out if you are ever around. The music/playlist is ALWAYS on point too!

2021-08-19I went here with my friends during my trip to NYC and we absolutely loved it! We got there pretty late so the outdoor seating was closed but they were still seating people indoors and everyone working there was so kind. They give you free popcorn that they are popping fresh at the bar. The kitchen is open late so we got the spinach dip which i sadly forgot to capture but it was delicious!! It’s definitely been one of my best experiences at a chill sit down and chat style bar! I will definitely be doing back when I’m visiting again!

2020-09-12Ive been coming here for years and would continue to highly recommend it during the pandemic! They practice social distancing, safe handling of drinks and food and a strict adherence to the guidelines set out by the NYC government. Theres a beautiful outdoor patio area as well as small picnic tables spread out in front. Great music that plays and very safe considering it is situated opposite a police station. Food is great too! Cocktails are reasonably priced around 12-13 dollars and beers around 6 or 7.

2018-05-02Weekday happy hour. The oysters and sliders (both chicken and pulled pork) were good, but the cocktails were great. The Ground to Glass with the red pepper purée was novel and delicious, like a bloody mary but lighter.

2022-02-22Consistently high quality cocktails are reasonable prices. A great place to take a date or small group of friends. I always enjoy the oyster happy hour with a great cocktail. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I recommend it enough that friends will join from as far as the Upper West, Queens, and Brooklyn.

2020-11-02The reviews say it best! This place is a cool hip spot and a must in Alphabet City. I had the pleasure of living around the corner of this place! Affordable and genuinely handcrafted cocktails make this place a gem! Every time Ive sat at the bar, Ive been treated cordially by genuine bartenders. Ive had the privilege to see how much time and effort they put into the small details of their handcrafted cocktails. Did I mention before how affordable everything is? Must do oysters and cocktails after work for a happy hour! You wont be disappointed!
