Not quite what we were looking for. Pricier than we expected, but probably great if you’re looking for a big brand name on sale. Also, keep in mind that you will be asked to check bags. I was a bit alarmed that they were just put under a table on the sales floor close to the door, rather than somewhere secure, so I didn’t feel comfortable browsing out of view of them. We also had an accident, as a member of staff dropped one of our shopping bags while handing them back to us. Upset that it happened, but the manager paid for the broken item.
Place needs to calm down. Type of place that will only place the censored versions of songs but will do so too loudly for anyone to talk. Their product is not nearly good enough to presume everyone who walks in the store is trying to steal from them. I’ve had good experiences here in the past but they’ve lost the plot and I don’t see myself coming back
Deborah sold me a dress that she claimed was Gucci for $150 which was a half-off, store-wide sale price on the original price of $300. I noticed the dress had no tags on the inside on the back hem, or the inseam -- there was no evidence what-so-ever that it was a Gucci dress, but I bought it in the moment because of the excitement the staff and Deborah had for how it looked on me.When I got home, I still felt strangely about the fact that there were no tags. I called her to express my concerns about the dress, after doing research on fashion duplication and fake product, and she was extremely unprofessional towards me. She would rant to me about trusting her word on the merit that shes been running this business for a number of years, and that the donor of the dress has been her client for a number of years. This is all fine and dandy and Im sure she has run this business for a number of years, but there was still no way to prove the dress was authentic for her to be charging $300 for it in the first place. In order to ensure my happiness with the dress, she promised to reimburse half the cost of the dress for the trouble. This never happened. For the past 2 months, Ive been calling over and over, leaving messages with her employees, texting her number, and she never returned any of my messages. I never saw the refund she promised me.I will never shop at Hearts of Gold again. She has bad business practice and doesnt follow up with her word. If she cant do the latter, how am I to trust the designer labels she is reselling for ridiculous prices in her store? The math doesnt add up. Be wary.
This is the most amazing thrift store I’ve ever been to in my life! And I’m an avid thrifter. The store is amazingly organized, and all the employees are so nice! Everything I found was high end and top brands, but the prices were thrift store prices. I don’t know how she does it. It’s the little details, like no limit on the number of articles you can take into the dressing room and the way they meticulously fold your clothes before bagging them that add finesse to the shopping experience. And the net profit goes to support an amazing charity that serves single moms in the city. I can’t say enough positive things about this store. 🙌
Wow, I cant get over this place. Its a great vintage store in the heart of downtown. My friends and I realized we had reservations that required an upgrade to our current attire and instead of spending 400$ plus on sports jackets we managed to get name brand clothes for a fraction of the cost.

2021-08-20Not sure why but New York doesnt have many good thrift stores and if you just like me invested your time and energy to find the one that can not only save you money but also provide with some good looking unique pieces of clothes and accessories - you found it!!! I visited 7 stores in the area and none of them were even close to what Thrifty Hog has to offer. On top of that, 100% of profits go towards a non profit organization that supports homeless mothers and their children! Can it get better than that? Anyway, kudos to the owner, you made my day.

2022-04-30I got the best cropped blazer - better quality then I’ve found while on my search for the perfect one. The help I received from the time I entered the store to when I left was exquisite. So happy I decided to stop in here! Really found some fabulous pieces.

2021-02-25This store is cool place to shop..with vintage and new styles its the perfect mix for the location. Its pretty small so strollers or wheel chairs might have a little trouble moving through the store.. they have high end thrifts, and helpful staff.

2022-05-12Too expensive like unjustifiably so. Great cause but the prices are beyond what most people would pay at a thrift store, many items beyond what people pay for new! What a shame so much potential. Manager? Tall with short black hair also unpleasant.

2021-12-18This has got to be the best vintage store in town, and for an incredible cause — A unique, curated experience with everything from brand new Jimmy Choo to delicate crystal stemware, at unfathomably reasonable prices. Unlike other similar stores, there’s something for everyone at every price point and size here. Better yet, all proceeds go directly to an amazing cause. Can’t wait to attend a Thursday event in which a $10 donation at the door nets you store credit, free sangria and bites, plus incredible music and feel-good vibes. Selection often full of brand new donated items, rotating quite frequently. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, and if you have a chance to meet the owner, she will inspire you.

2022-07-02Manager is a joke and rude. No one is going to pay $200 for a long sleeve. This is not your regular “thrift” store, they def charge just for even looking at a piece😂
