The Tipsy Taco in other cities:
Really delicious flavors and great quality. Sometimes the tacos felt a little heavy on the sauces but overall everything was delicious. They have the option to turn your tacos into burritos for an additional charge, which turns your little taco bite into a large, delicious, filling experience.
Not all pubs are created equal and the Social Gastro Pub is well above average. Nice layout and vibe, very, very nice staff and good food as well. Lots and lots of beer options in a space that doesnt feel overwhelming. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights makes this a really great neighborhood option. I play, eat and drink here - always a good time with friends new and old.
One star is too much, I would never post a bad review. If I don’t like it I don’t return, my opinion isn’t necessarily anyone else’s . But I purchased a groupon two weeks ago, and was told by the owner, we could not use the groupon because he cancelled it Around the same time. Obviously it was cancelled by him close to the time we purchased it, as a business owner he should have honored it or at least try to accommodate the inconvenience in some type of manner, we ordered two drinks each an appetizer, meal and dessert. You couldn’t remove one thing? This was terrible customer service. Food was ok, carnitas definitely could have used some flavor and were dry, shrimp was good and wings too and we even spoke during dinner about coming back, even though the food at dirty taco is way better as well as the service, but we like to venture to different places. we are completely turned off by this guys lack of good judgement on how to treat a customer. By the way the groupon was a 15 dollar discount. And our bill was almost 100. Take a drink off dude. Make your customer feel a little better about a mistake you made and as a result they have to pay for. We will never Return or recommend this restaurant tipsy taco anyone. In my opinion you don’t deserve a business.
We were in town for a wedding and stopped here for a late lunch and had the place to ourselves. Our friendly bartender made great cocktails and the chef came out to speak with us as we ate chicken wings, ahi tuna and steak on toast - one better than the next. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend and I stopped by The Social Gastropub late night hoping to get some small plates to munch on over drinks. We got there around 11:30pm on a Saturday night. It was disappointing to find out that the kitchen was closed when we got there, I thought we could still get some small bites, something simple to eat over drinks.... There was a musician plan music, more country music, but it was a nice vibe. Not too many people at this place when we got there, about a hand full of people sitting around. The Bar was fully seated with people, but not too crowded. Respectful people and the drinks were good.
Quaint and very homie. phenomenal atmosphere. Live music during the week. Bartenders are very professional and attentive. The food is absolutely ridiculous, in a very good way. My only knock on this place is when it gets crowded it takes forever to get food service. Other than that a must go to place

2021-07-20Found this place in the pennysaver (yes people still use that) and thought Id give it a shot. First impressions were good, clean establishment, friendly staff member, greeted as I walked in.Ordered to go, got a lunch combo of Buffalo chicken and beer battered fish. The taste of the food was okay. The fish was cooked perfect but it was lacking something. The Buffalo chicken was a bit to strong on the vinegar taste. The sides were all pretty good. Overall decent, I wouldnt write it off, give it a try for yourself.Side note; the reviews for this place seem to be from the previous establishment. Maybe the same owner but different style of food.

2022-05-08ALLERGY ALERT! Dont order from this place if you are celiac or gluten sensitive, they wont mark your to go bag as to which is which. Plus the food was cold and they forgot one order and we had to go back and pick it up and the owner? Server? Bartender? Was indifferent when we got there, almost like we were doing him the favor. Do NOT recommend.

2021-07-07Here’s the thing, the food was great. The sour cream was definitely homemade (it was actually sour and liquid) I had the street corn, a tequila lime shrimp taco, and a beer battered fish taco. The tequila lime shrimp taco was my favorite. The only issue I’m having is when when received the bill, my margarita was $22…a whopping $22 FOR A SMALL…served in a plastic to go cup…in Old Bethpage. Even in Manhattan a Don Julio margarita would be $17 or so. He tried telling me it’s because he gave me three shots of top shelf liquor in it…There was no chance it had anywhere near three shots. It tasted like pineapple and lime juice mixed. Not even fancy places charge $22 for a small top shelf margarita on the island. My friends house margarita was $9. This means he’s averaging $2.50 or so each well shot if there’s three shots in a margarita here since the juice should account for some of the price as well. He also charged us for 3 sodas when we got one. I think they might just be struggling and maybe customers don’t notice or read their bill. It was our first time there and our last. Truly unfortunate because the food was good. Hopefully it was just this waiter who didn’t know what he was doing. There was also a fly floating in my seltzer which granted it’s the summer, but fruit flies breed in water. Hopefully this review reaches an owner so they can teach their staff how to charge correctly since people are noticing the random upcharges for nothing. The picture shows he randomly charges us $12 and $10 for shots we didn’t get and “sodas” we didn’t get. Just very weird.

2019-06-28I have lived in the Plainview - Old Bethpage area for over 20 years. I had the pleasure of having a fabulous burger and cocktail at the new Social Gastropub that just opened in October, 2018. The new owners refurbished many aspects of the old bar, and did the decor in a very fashionable way. From dark and dingy, to bright and informal, I love the changes that they made. I also loved the things that were kept. This made for a very pleasant atmosphere, where I fell so comfortable going back for a cocktail and a very delicious burger. The Social Gastropub offers 75 different kinds of beer, featuring beer from local brewerys and international ones as well. They offer many signature cocktails, many which offer seasonal variety. I had the La Pina Mexicana that was made from tequila and pineapple juice and topped with a nice dried pineapple slice and mint. We also had the Deep Purple, gin, agave and blueberries. Both of these special cocktails were very refreshing and delicious. The Social Gastropub has offerings of small plates and big plates. From the small plates, I had the Sesame Ahi Tuna, served on a tortilla with a fabulous wasabi sauce was very tasty. The Steak on Toast was wonderful. The steak was so soft and flavorful served with pickled onions and arugula on crostini was very nice. The kale and quinoa was excellent. The salad had delicious goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries in a lemon - thyme vinaigrette. The Classic Burger was delicious. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and topped with cheese and bacon, and served with crispy fries was so satisfying.I enjoyed going to The Social Gastropub. The staff is so friendly. The atmosphere is clean and modern. The decor is old school. I get the Cheers vibe, where if you go there everyone will know your name. I will definitely be back for the burger and cocktails. The best part it is literally in my own backyard..

2020-03-14Ive driven passed this bar countless times without even knowing that it was there. Found them through Groupon and finally had the time to check it out. The bartender Benny greeted us as soon as we walked in and took care of us the whole time we were there. We just came for a few drinks but the huge pretzel was calling my name and the wings seemed to be a hot item online. The everything pretzel with homemade beer sauce was really good aside from our pretzel being partly frozen in some spots but that didnt stop us from eating every bite that we could. The bama wings were so good we had to order a second serving. They are super crispy coated with a salty and delicious dry rub and drizzled with a creamy white BBQ sauce . Cooked to perfection! The wings and service will have us coming back for sure!

2019-10-31Visited here on a quiet Wednesday. Great place to hangout. I sat at the bar and chatted with the other patrons and bartenders. The staff very friendly and helps with finding a cocktail or beer to fit your tastes. They have a book with 87 varieties of beer. I had the signature Perfect Pear cocktail garnished with candied ginger which I thought was a nice touch. For food I ordered the Philly cheese steak which was amazing, well cooked with peppers and onion and super crispy crinkle cut fries. Im a purist so ordered their bama sauce off to the side. You can tell they really care about putting out best product they can, from keeping chilled drink glasses to they told me they get their beef from Pat LaFriedas. Only gripe I have is maybe get some coasters instead of wasting napkins to put under drinks, cut down on straws use, and maybe add tater tots on the menu.

2019-10-18Great bar with a lot of drinking options! Spent some time talking to the owners and they are very courteous, friendly and provide outstanding service. It has a very modern Manhattan like feel to it and Im surprised not as many people visit this location.
