The Union League Club in other cities:
I was stopped by a staff member at the front door to verify whom I was to meet at the club and where. Hand sanitizer was offered and a temperature check (also using the hand) was done. Jackets are required of men (but no tie). I had a Greek salad and Salmon for lunch. The Greek salad was not what I expected (looked more like the standard circular shape of a Tuna Tartare but made of vegetables). The salmon was delicious but the vermicelli noodles bed was a little odd. (The crispness was too much of a jarring contrast with the Salmon). Popovers were delicious but would have been better if they were served warm with a cloth cover. Dessert was not offered -- but coffee was.
Came here for a corporate retreat. A long day of guest speakers and speeches. The club is very historical in culture and appearance. Doesnt seem I have a reason as of now to return but while I was there the staff was very helpful and all of our meals were very nicely prepared.

2022-05-24I cannot speak as a member, but I attended a dinner there hosted by the Grant Monument Association (GMA) in 2022 honoring the bicentennial of the birth of the victorious U.S. Army commanding general during the American Civil War and two-term, 18th president of the United States Ulysses S. Grant. The service in the event room was adequate, the food above-average for in-house catered events at historic clubs (I have been to various Ivy clubs, some several times, for dinners and receptions over the course of 20-some years), and the aesthetics steeped in history and interesting. The library was a great setting for the pre-dinner cocktail reception and the service there by the staff was excellent. The front-of-the-house staff were very friendly and courteous during both the arrival and departure of my party. The Union League Club was founded in 1863 by a group of loyal American men of means and influence in New York City who grew alarmed and frustrated by the swelling accommodationist sentiment in New York City towards the secessionist movement of the Southern slavery-states that triggered the American Civil War (1861–1865). The clubs goal was to strength national devotion and respect for the Union of states comprising the republic of the U.S.A. Among other activities, members raised funds for the U.S. Sanitary Commission, which later became the American Red Cross.Union League clubs were started to other cities, too.(Photo, left to right, from the above-described events after-dinner colloquy : Dr. Ronald C. Grant.)(Photo: a better view of an event room)

2022-03-20I stayed at the Union League Club this weekend checking in on Friday March 18, 2022, to Sunday March 20th. The staff was EXEMPLARY. The amenities were stunning, and the food was amazing. I havent even begun to express my love of the location, artworks, and how clean everything is there. As a member of a reciprocal club here in a Washington DC, I have already made up my mind that I will only stay at the Union League Club whenever I am in NYC.

2022-04-25Nothing like it anywhere in New York. Outstanding on every level. Countless holidays with friends and family spent at the Club, as well as my unforgettable wedding held here. Rich in history, and ambience, the ULC is truly one of a kind.

2022-02-21Got invited by a friend for dinner and drinks at The Union League Club in Manhattan. From the entry to our experience, everything was posh and perfect. Service was impeccable and food and drinks were delicious. We ordered wine at the bar where complimentary snacks were served (nuts and trail mix) and popcorn. For dinner I had lamb chops, crab salad and tiramisu. We had a great experience here at the club. For men, there are blazers that can be borrowed from coat check area. Both women and men have to dress up.

2022-02-08The club with a history that is not measured in years or decades but by the age of the nation. It’s a treat to visit. Amazing history at every coroner and in every hallway and in the rooms. The building has architectural details that are awe inspiring and inside decor is timeless. Always an amazing learning experience on every visit.
