The UPS Store in other cities:
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Ive been going to this store for over a year and they are HORRIBLE! The staff talks to the customers SO NASTY. They DO NOT look for your package. Ive watch them literally lift ONE box and tell me your package is not here. They DO NOT HELP YOU AT ALL...smh Today I stood outside for 40MINS in the cold weather just for them to give me NASTY attitude and once again tell me my package is not there WITHOUT LOOKING! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT MAKE AN ONLINE APPT FOR NOTARY SERVICES! I made an appointment online, got a reminder email about my appointment, then showed up and was informed that the notary wasnt in. When I said that I made an appointment, the UPS employee informed me -- as if this should have been obvious to me -- that yes, you can make appointments online, but we dont do appointments. cool.
I’ve been patronizing this location for years. The reviews here are shocking to me as I’ve never received or witnessed ANY lack of professionalism and have always found the owner and staff to be kind, helpful and truly invested in doing their jobs. As another reviewer pointed out, all of the boxes amassed in this store are a visual representation of how many people and businesses rely on this small, busy establishment. To be honest, I’m often impressed with how collected and courteous the staff are to the multitudes of people who are rude to THEM.
PSA: an employee told me today that if your package has a pre-paid label AND you don’t need a receipt, you can just drop the package inside. You do not need to stand in line. The same employee told me the reason the line is so long is because people don’t know this. It would be helpful to have a sign in the window letting people know this policy, otherwise I’m not sure how they’d know. That’s said, I would probably recommend getting a receipt if you’re able to wait. I have experienced a few issues with missing/lost packages out of this location, though most of my deliveries and pick ups have been successful, despite some timing issues or long waits.
Average wait time of 25-30 minutes for something as simple as dropping off a small package. The place is always a mess. Employees are slow moving, uninterested and generally unaware of how long everyone else is waiting. I’m not sure if they are understaffed or underpaid but customer service is non-existent. Would be quicker to walk across the street and use the FedEx shipping within the Duane Reade. Or you could probably walk down Atlantic to a FedEx down there and still have a faster and more pleasant experience.
The worst UPS Store experience ever!Worker kept yelling at me to put boxes that were already on the counter in front of him on the scale when was done scanning the labels.I thought it was a new protocol or something, so I asked him, is there a reason Im the one that should be putting them on the scale?. He yelled and said, cause you brought them to me!!... Wow...This behavior is completely unnecessary, extremely unprofessional, and rude!If he doesnt want to do his job, he should just quit!Needless to say I will spread the word, and will NEVER visit this UPS Store again as long as this guy is allowed to work there!
Came into return a package and was not satisfied with customer service. The staff member who in the store was unprofessional. The staff member yelled at me for no reason. The store is very disorganized and need a remodeling and the manager need to be there more often and the some of the staff need retraining. If you need to go to the UPS avoid this location at all cost.
Be prepared to wait an hour. Each time I’ve been the lines are long and the employees move at half speed. Considering it’s always busy you would think they would be efficient. Even amazon drop offs take too long. If this wasn’t the closest store I would go to the ones I used to by my job.
Unfortunately I had a very bad experience at this location. The staff were distracted and not attentive to the information they asked me to provide to complete my transaction. They were unable to answer questions about shipping options and timelines nor were they able to provide insight into any of the basic questions about my package and shipment. There was no chance to verify any of the information I provided for the shipment leaving me to question if it was done properly given my overall experience with the staff. I do not recommend going to this location, find another location.
I was returning a rented book from Amazon and needed to print with them as a designated service provider a prepaid return label. They printed out the page in regular paper and charged me $2.10. Ten cents for the copy and two dollars for the service. Beyond ridiculous. I had just printed a pre paid label in Fed Ex across the street and surprise it was as stated pre paid and given to me in sticky label form. Ill continue avoiding the abomination that The UPS Store is.
Unfortunately, I agree with so many comments indicating that the place moves slowly, the people move slowly, and there is a general lack of concern about efficiency, even if the line outside has grown to 7-10 people deep (which is what I saw when I went recently). Even worse, the guy wore his mask around his chin. And because it takes 10-15 min for them to process a job, you have no choice but to be subjected to that while you wait for them to finish. Cannot recommend.
If I could give 0 stars in stead of 1, I would... This location is one of the worst UPS stores Ive been to in the city. Always disorganized, piles of boxes everywhere, employees tossing packages around like theyre nothing. Ive showed up once or twice 5 or 10 minutes before closing to find the store locked, and the employees ignoring customers knocking on the door... Ive worked retail, I understand wanting to leave, but to lock the doors during official hours is a bit much. I was also SHOUTED at by the store manager for asking if I could leave an Amazon return that I did not need a receipt for (something Ive been told to do multiple times by other employees at this and other locations). He shouted repeatedly at me over another customer even after I assured him that I was happy to wait if thats what he needed. Filed a complaint with corporate, but Im doubtful that anything will happen. Truly a next-level horrible store. If it werent for Amazon Id never walk thru the doors again.
Always have to wait. The store is a mess and seems completely unorganized. They charge ridiculous prices for shipping! (I also hate how you have to fill out a form for UPS to ship packages that you would not have to at the post office.) and the WORST part, twice I have dropped off small packages there that never arrived to their destination. The first, important things for my son in Amsterdam. The second a clothing item worth $100, I was returning. So bad.
Theres no reason it should take over an hour to get 5 people in and out. Its understandable to have some delay due to covid but come on...Youve got elderly customers waiting for an hour in 100 degree heat. Not sure if theyre understaffed or what but this location isnt worth your time.
Ive only needed to visit this UPS Store twice. Once to print off something in a hurry and once to buy some stamps. The computers they have for public use are dinosaurs. It took way too long to do something as simple as print a couple pages. I think UPS can probably afford better computers. UPS (or, more specifically, the franchisee) has also put in absolutely no effort in making the store appealing. They could stand to tidy up a bit.
Writing an updated review. They luckily changed the policy where you have to fill out paperwork to ship. There are a few solid people working there now who will be friendly if you are. I mostly go here because it is a block away and for Amazon returns. The supposedly also offer usps but the prices seem soooo much higher than the post office. The other day I was sending my daughter a tiny package and asked for the least expensive shipping which was quoted at $11.50. I also had a usps labeled return for which they charge an extra $2. So I decided to keep them and go upstate to the post office on the weekend. That package only cost $4.45 to ship usps! How can they uncharged so much for usps?! It’s worth the walk to the post office. I am happy to know for sure because the prices always felt ridiculous.
Had to use UPS to return an Amazon order. The store was clean and quiet (830am Tuesday), the printing computer worked to get my label printed, and then I left my package there to be shipped. All that is good, but I paid 3.04 for one b&w page, which included a 2.95 fee for just using the computer. This was the only method of printing from USB, which FedEx does for ~.15.
I dont understand all the one-star kvetchers (complainers). If they dont like this UPS facility, they should go to the US Post Office. If they want to kvetch, the subway is a great target, as it seriously sucks (call 311 every day, please.) As for UPS 5526 at 315 Flatbush Ave: If you notice the huge pile of boxes for return and forward shipments that people drop off here during the course of the day (pick-up is around 4:00 pm), youll realize just how many people in the neighborhood are dependent on, and trust, this tiny place. Yes, there are lines at certain times, but no lines at others. But if you can find the local US post office, there are lines there to. And in my experience (Im 70 y/o), the overall USPS experience in Brooklyn--especially the delays, wrong deliveries, violent treatment of packages and other hard-to-imagine-anything-so-lame errors--is consistently worse than that at this UPS service center. Attention all impatient, self-righteous kvetchers: put yourself in these employees shoes for a moment. And remember this bit of common sense: human beings react better when theyre treated with respect and offered a smile or a joke, 98% of the time.
I do not recommend trying to pick items up at this location. I tried to have an item sent here and it never arrived. Also, realize that if you send individuals packages through UPS, you are doing them a big disservice, as it is extremely inconvenient to retrieve a package from UPS.
I stopped by here on Saturday (11/10/2018) to drop off a package. I was told I could leave it by the counter. Surprise surprise, three days later and they have no idea what happened to my package. The lady at the counter couldnt have cared less and told me there was nothing that could be done about it. Seriously, listen to all the other reviewers and avoid this place.
I recently moved from New York to San Francisco and chose UPS to ship all of my possessions across the country. I dropped them off at this UPS location. Each box arrived in a horrific state, despite the fact that FRAGILE written across every surface--there were tears, dents, holes and the cardboard was deteriorated, as if the packages had sat out in the rain for days. Inside, carefully packed items were shattered and as I unpacked, shards of glass were falling from everything. Books were water damaged and the boxes were literally coming apart at the seams.I spent $600 for my belongings to be kicked, thrown and carelessly treated. I will never trust UPS to provide quality and reliable shipping services and will never recommend them to anyone.
I bring packages in every now and then that need to be packed and then shipped via UPS. Every time I ask when the package will go out. The response is later today. I never had a package take less than 2 business days to go out. It takes them 1 day just to print the shipping label.
Bummed for the bad reviews-these guys are great. I am always happy use them, especially if it saves me from having to go to the Adelphi post office, (yes you can get usps postage here)- to anyone leaving a bad review for these guys, take a trip to Adelphi post office (or any P.O. in the tri state).
Brought in a box with a prepaid label as PDF. Asked if they could print it, they said no problem. After printing it tried to charge me $2+. Seriously?! $2 for one sheet of paper, required to use your business? Biggest rip off ever.Edit: they eventually let me ship it.
I came in during my lunch break and spent the entire time being berated, talked down to, and ignored by the absolutely useless and clueless staff, and then they never even shipped my package. Unless you like being treated like stinky garbage for no reason, I do not recommend.
DO NOT EVER PRINT HERE - $3+ to use computer - I got charged 4.71 to use computer and print 3 black and white pages - the computer are years outdated and take forever to even log into email - you can’t print pdf/jpeg without downloading to computer - no access to trash bin - total rip off and frustration - envelopes are also way overpriced

2022-07-02The folks who run the store are efficient, competent and very pleasant even in the face of long lines and demanding customers. I enjoy visiting the store knowing I may have to wait. They dont set policy on pricing. They just do their jobs in professional and neighborly way. I appreciate them.

2022-04-18This is the slowest UPS on the planet I think. You have to wait in line for 20 minutes or longer sometimes, outside in the elements all to make a simple Amazon return which takes less than a minute. They are severely understaffed and very inefficient.

2022-02-18Went to do a simple return of a package with the address clearly listed on the box. The female cashier was rude as can be. I am not sure if she didn’t want to come to work today, but she needs to learn some customer service skills. I am not sure if being rude is trained to the staff, however it is totally unacceptable and unprofessional.

2022-02-18Terribly long wait times even for prelabeled packages. No drop box. Extremely rude staff. Very very condescending. Ruined my day.

2022-05-06We had a really terrific experience here after getting turned away at Clinton Hill Sandbox with an enormous freight package. UPS to the rescue. Helped us get a good price and very professional. Thanks!

2022-02-03THIS LOCATION DOESN’T HAVE A NOTARY! Don’t waste your time like I did having a confirmed appointment online only to show up and find out that there’s no notary at that location. The UPS store associate even told me that they can’t control the online appointments made at their store. NOT HELPFUL AT ALL! I expected more from UPS.

2022-02-24Honestly, just really bad service. They act like they’re doing you a favor and then charge you incredibly high prices. The notary is always “stepping out”.Just seriously don’t come to this branch. So bad.

2021-11-16Wow they really suck. Scheduled an appointment for a notary and when I arrived they said they don’t do appointments. Had to print some documents, the printer jammed and the employee charged me for the extra copies he printed even though the mistake wasn’t mine. He added a “miscellaneous” charge and when I simply asked what it was he snapped and said all printing services have a miscellaneous charge plus a charge per sheet. Can’t say I’ve ever had an experience at UPS this bad. Really shameful.

2021-08-28This particular ups store sucks so much. There’s ALWAYS a line to drop packages off and I’m convinced that they only have 1 person working on Saturdays doing everything from scanning drop off, packing up stuff for pickup, to answering the phone, etc. because of how slow it moves. A snail moves faster than this line. Absolutely ridiculous and they can’t even blame it on COVID changes because this is how it’s always been.
