Horrible service by the manager there. Not only did they mail two of my boxes to the wrong person. I was mailing one to one daughter in one state and one to another daughter in a different state. Thank goodness my daughters are able to mail the boxes to the each other but now it costs double the money to send and an unexpected delay. At the UPS store they were separated and they put the address labels on the boxes so the error was on their side. I also had two other boxes to mail. One was in a sink disposal box and the other was in a Sonora Kate box. Because they had advertising on the box they would not mail it. said I would have to rebox them. Ok, I put brown paper on one box and put brown packing tape over the Sonora Kate logo on the other box. I came back and the same manager said no. Said one box was unshippable because it would get beat up on the conveyor belt and would not mail the box with the brown paper because she said it would rip. I have never in my life had these problems with mailing UPS. Originally the manager said no without even coming out to look at my boxes. I had to ask for her to come speak to me. So off I went to the UPS customer service center and mailed them from there. They had absolutely no problem mailing my other two boxes and didnt understand why I was told they couldnt be mailed for the reasons given. The recipients received those boxes with no problem. Box wasnt beat up and paper was not ripped. I will never go to the Newton Plaza UPS again and the manager there needs to learn how to be better at customer service and get off her power trip.
Worst customer service ever. No knowledge on international shipping. There are not aware of what label to use for batteries. And absolutely no intent to solve the situation. They just pass time and get paid. Owner should probably observe their behaviors and responses on cam. Paid 350 for next day air saying this shipment is very time sensitive and has to reach destination next day for sure. Guess what, due to improper label, it was held in warrhouse for 2 days and then returned back to me. They were unable to fix the label issue or do a refund.I would suggest to go to the hub on avis dr which is 10 mins away and they are very knowledgeable on what to be done... please DONOT waste money/time at this store (new loudon rd).Made me wait 1 hr and said owner is not coming in until two days later. Such an Irresponsible customer and arrogant staff!
Garrett from this UPS store helped me in all the printing, scanning and returns stuff when I was short of time. He went the extra mile in all his services. He knows what he is doing and treats customers very well. All the other staffs at this store were very helpful too.
Ive been using this store for quite a long time the employees are always swamped with customers but go above and beyond to get things done as timely as possible. I cant explain how much i appreciate their service as most of my mail would be stolen straight away at my apartment mailbox. Lucky for me I found this place love the staff and appreciate the work they do
Horrible customer service. I waited in line for 25 minutes outside when I finally got inside I waited for another 5 minutes before the girl behind the counter announced she had to close in 1 minute and wasnt taking any more customers. Never gave any warning she needed to close and was just going to send us all away. I felt more bad for the man in front of me who had carried five boxes outside and in waiting all this time to be told no. she should have at least locked the door and helped everybody who was already inside waiting.
Courteous, helpful, and exceedingly efficient: I visited with three open boxes of clothes that had no labels, not sure what to expect. The employee expertly rearranged my boxes in no time, taped them closed with a reassuring amount of tape, and analyzed their dimensions and weight at a blinks pace. I started giving the address and the employee checked my name with me, which I hadnt even given. In about three minutes, three open, unlabelled boxes were ready for shipping, and my receipt was in front of me. When I got to my car I had to pause and take a breath to process what had just happened.
Closed before 630 and I see the person inside just walking around. I pulled in at 625 pm 6/30/2020. This place provide horrible service and only had one person working. No wonder the tip jar is empty, also wonder when UPS starting allowing a tip jar. Im just going to the one down Avis Rd, even though they close at 6.
Today I went into in this store and had a great experience. I was greeted by Dan who I think is the owner of this franchise. He was quick pleasant and very helpful. I parked near the door was in and out in less than 4 minutes. I have used the Latham distribution center in the past but between far away parking, slow moving lines and fair service I would highly recommend this store. Also they are more than just UPS they have mail boxes, printing, packaging shredding and more.
I have used this store several times and the customer service was great. When there is a line everyone seems to be dealt with quickly. Those behind the counters have always been at worst pleasent no matter how busy they are at the time. They are willing to help customers who are juggling to many packages or ones that seem to heavy to be comfortable (even for the non handicapped customers).
The worst customer service and service in general of a shipping store Ive ever used. They lost my package which was an essential part of my business and it was imperative that I received it the day it was scheduled.I called customer service only to come in contact with a woman with a blatant attitude who was of no help. She assured me it was in the warehouse and that she, personally would help look for it. She then HUNG UP on me without even asking for the tracking/shipping number, or even my phone number to reach me back.Ive now spent the entire day, first waiting for my package to be delivered, and then wasted the rested of the waiting on a phone call which never came.Absolute worst service Ive ever experienced which resulted in a lost of clientele of my business with no compensation on their end. I will never recommend this business to anyone.
I have never had such a frustrating experience with ups as I did with your representative at the ups store sat 5/20. The girl behind the counter eas not client driven. There was a substantial line of in person clients awaiting service. After 20 minutes she announced that clients dropping off without needing receipts could leave packages. However she then proceeded to scan those packages rather than assist clients in store. The music in the store was sexually and language in appropriate for a business. She was unable to ship on our ups account so suggested we go to closed location. Upon our return she was was on her cell phone and noticeably annoyed to have to stop texting to respond to client in front of us. Often times I assume poor training is at fault but the girl at this location was not client driven. There should be a representative at every business who values your patrons.
Your new manager Christien is implementing random made up rules. I understand this is an independently owned franchise. You cannot just change policy without it being in writing. The first issue I had was returning a book, which fits in a free ups branded envelope. He tried charging me $5, which again pre-printed ups envelope....free. Today, I needed 1 piece of paper printed which is clearly advertised as 10¢ a page. He told me it was $1.08 bc it was a label. Youre not doing anything extra, its a piece of paper. I asked to speak with Ken, the owner, he refused to give me his contact information and said I could call Saratoga and see if he was there. I asked if he could call the store and I would speak with him, he went into the back, to talk about me and came back and said well this one time well allow it but going forward we will charge $1.08 for a label. How can he dictate price depending on what is on the piece of paper? Isnt a piece of paper a piece of paper regardless of whats on it? Im absolutely disgusted by the greed and lack of customer service. Ive been coming to this location for over 4 years and will be contacting the district manager and owner.
John at this location was most helpful and patient when we discovered that there was an error in the zip code we had used in the destination address. He waited while we tried to contact the intended recipient in Texas to verify/correct the zip code information. Even with this mix-up, which was entirely our fault, John was helpful, courteous, and professional throughout the entire process and we got the packages safely on their way to Texas. Thanks, John!
Tried to have a document printed at this store that was ordered online through the UPS printing website. Almost 2 weeks went by and the document was still not complete. I called the local store and there was no answer and no machine. I called again the next day, and they said they had no record of the order. I called the UPS online support, they said the order was in the local stores que and needed to be completed. The UPS online support tried to call the local store but once again, no answer no machine. UPS online support said they would continue to contact the store and get back to me, which they never did. At this point its been almost a month since I made the order. I called the local store again and once again they said they had no record of the order. I implored them to check again, and it turns out they DID have the order all along!! The only reason I would give them 2 stars is that the women I spoke with today assured me that the problem would be resolved. Otherwise, I was absolutely astonished by the complete lack of customer service, the rampant confusion, and the total disaster that was my order. Luckily, this was not a valuable document so not much was at stake. I would absolutely not use this store again.
I just walked in at 1pm on 7/31/2015. The man working here was miserable and rude. Took my packages and threw the receipt at me. They wouldnt close my package while I was standing there. Makes me feel as though they may go through my packages. I will not be using ups to ship. That man needs to be fired, I am so furious that I am sitting in the parking lot writing this review.
Neat and tidy store.. However, Christien who I had an interview set up with was very rude. My interview was scheduled for 11AM, due to problems with transportation, I showed up at 11:04AM. He turned me away as soon as I walked in the building without listening to my reasoning for showing up 4 minutes late. But I respected his wishes on not moving any further with me. As I was walking away I just told him “okay”, he responded with “know what I’m saying”. I thought to myself, no I actually don’t know what you’re saying, why don’t you tell me.
I went to the Latham UPS Store to copy a PDF from my phone I had no idea how to do this the representative Garett was beyond helpful!! He took the time to get all my copies done stapled them and put them in an envelope for me he was OUTSTANDING!! Thank u UPS Store in Latham for being the best ever
Probably changed the driver - and all of a sudden my address was marked as incorrect. I saw a UPS truck speeding by my house (which is actually not allowed in the neighborhood) not even bothering to stop and have a better look. Three packages in row were blocked from delivery, and it took me 6 (!!) calls to UPS to fix the situation. Every time I was promised that somebody from the Latham facility will call you in less than an hour - and nobody ever has.
Customer service here is a joke. There was only one attendant here on a Saturday. She wasted half of an hour of my time trying to convince me to get rid of the packing I already had to buy one of her boxes, asking for the zip code six times and then being unable to help us. She instead sent us to another store - neglecting to tell us it was closed.There is no respect for customers or their time here.
Ups store falsely advertises that they are a notary, unfortunately I traveled there to figure this out, they referred me to M&T Bank next door which was a huge waste of time. I wasted 20 minutes trying to make a foreign woman understand the VERY simple bank statement, I am removing my name from a joint account & the documents only needed my signature but she refused to notarize it because it simply stated the persons name whose account I am coming off of. The whole purpose of the form is because they live far away & cant accompany me to the bank. I suggest if anyone needs anything notarized, they go elsewhere!

2022-02-21Im impressed with the quality of service and friendliness of the staff at this location. Every time I go to this store they are always moving to keep the wait time down. The staff is patient with the questions that I have and never seem to mind taking a few extra moments to help me. That being said, if customers do come in with unpacked/incorrectly packed items then of course it will take a longer time to help them and the cost of services rendered is adjusted accordingly. Thats not only fair but common sense. Im amazed when other customers come into a shipping store with a bag of items or complain about the price to ship items without realizing how that industry works, especially these days. Always a great experience here and remember that these are also human beings doing their best to help you, especially those who come in unprepared, they are not magicians. *No disrespect intended to magicians, magic practitioners, or magic enthusiasts

2022-03-15Stopped in here last night at 5pm, was told that they, UPS, was experiencing a nationwide computer outage which was affecting every UPS computer. They couldnt accept packages. The 3 young kids were cleaning and preparing to leave early based on what I saw inside the store. Myself and several other people were turned away and refused service. I called another UPS location, 5 miles away, the clerk on the phone was extremely helpful and told me his location was up and running, open until 7pm. When I got the the Colonie, Central Ave location they accepted my packages and told me they had a computer glitch that lasted less than 5 min and that the Latham location lied and is known to do this. If you need UPS services do yourself a favor and just go to the Central Ave location in Colonie3/15 update. Thank you for replying. However, your reply didnt address: the refusal of service and the misinformation about an extended, nationwide outage. Again, other stores were open,operating and accommodating. They, too had impeccably clean stores.

2022-06-03Im trying to straighten out a major screw up with them as I write.Did all in my power to have Best Buy deliver a gift to my son who loves in Ohio. I put in to deliver it at a UPS store near him and the delivery instructions say Hold at UPS Access Point.Im on the phone with a rep whi sounds like hes in a call center in Kalcutta, India.

2021-08-24I have been going there for a few years...40-50 items shipped. I was sending an Amazon box back, the item came with other items in a big box. I was told it couldnt be shipped in its own box. All other times they said they would take care of it. BUT...wait there is more! They wanted to sell me a little box for $7.00. When I questioned it the clerk/manger said thats the way it is. I told them I would find another business to take my money to. I left...but was stewing and called to speak to the manager...who happened to be the one I dealt with at the counter. Rude and uncaring is what comes to mind. Ill be going elsewhere even if its a longer drive. They will not get another penny of my business..ever... I have a feeling I am not the only one either. Might want to get a manager with a few people skills...

2021-06-26My experience with the staff at this location and other locations has been disappointing. Today 6-21-2021 I had a return item to me mailed, I requested the staff to print the label and who told me he would and without letting me know that printing of the label would cots me $1.08. After he printed the label he told me that this will cost me $1.08, I got surprised and asked him why he did not tell me before agreeing to print the label and I thought printing the label would be free. He told me that they charge for printing labels for mailing packages from their store. Please be careful. I have always had a bad experience with them.***Mr. Marino, thank you for the reply. With due respect, it is reasonable for the business/business representative to mention/explain the charges prior to providing the service. It came as a surprise to me - as the return label was paid by the business which was accepting the returned item.

2021-03-11I walked into This amazing UPS STORE on 595 New Loudon Rd, Latham, NY and received the most warmest, welcoming hello. The professional UPS Manager Kristy and Customer Service Rep Selena literally had to calm me down because I was almost late bringing in my package of insulin and sneakers to be delivered to my son. They wonderfully and very timely took care of the customers on line and when it was my turn the care and concern was of the utmost professionalism. My package was picked up on time at 5pm and my son will have his timely delivery and not miss any doses thank you to these amazing angels! THANK YOU UPS. 2021-03-26This UPS store and employees are GREAT! Ive mailed Christmas packages and Easter packages several times to family and friends, always great expErience but never thought to give a review. At the end of a long & frustrating work day this store was my last stop... had to return tons of stuff I bought on Amazon. Garett & Kristy really helped me out. Earlier in the day, I totally got the runaround from Amazon trying to return stuff and GARRETT gave me some tips on how to return things easier next time (simple just by going to the UPS store) . They printed a couple emails while I was there because I just moved & I didnt have my wireless printer hooked up yet and then they helped me fax a few important documents (yes Im one of those people that still faxes) They were tremendous, professional and courteous. this is my new office. I went back the very next day just to ship a few more things, new guy there, he was singing (awesome voice) thought it was the Beatles SiriusXM channel for a second...Wonder if he takes requests;) ?plus Newton Plaza is just great place to hang out!

2020-10-28The 2 employees at this location that I dealt with yesterday were amazing. It was a young guy and a young lady, unfortunately I didnt get their names. Im going to figure out who it was and update the review with their names, because they definitely deserve some recognition for the great customer service. They were both friendly, helpful and made the process of packing and shipping my items very easy. I know the manager reads these reviews, so Ill let you know it was on Tuesday October 27th at 4:30 pm. As long as I continue to receive service like that, I will continue to use this location for all my packing and shipping needs.

2020-10-22Greatest UPS store ever! The staff there is amazing as they are always extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I’ve been coming in several times a week for the past several months and the process is always seamless and enjoyable. My favorite part is how well the staff gets along with one another and creates a sense of community in the workplace.
