The UPS Store in other cities:
I have come to this location for a while now. Every time I have been here, there is the same guy at the register. I wish I knew his name, but he has a great work ethic and needs to be promoted or something. He goes way out of his way to be polite and helpful and is really on top of all the mailing processes, even international. I was mailing some masks to China to help family with the virus situation, and he was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make sure I knew what to expect and how to avoid pitfalls of mailing masks with all the mess going on now. The rest of the staff have always been very helpful as well. This place is a gem. Thank you!
Disgusting experience. Got charged $15.07 for the service that costs $1.61 at USPS, although UPS takes 3 business days longer. The rep Raymond pretended to be helpful, offering to use an Express envelope within my package to ensure firmness without telling hed charge me $4.38 for it anyway even if I backed out of the deal. Raymond also pretended he didnt know about USPS First Class, claiming cheaper USPS options would be definitely slower than UPS and possibly taking up to 2 weeks.
Small UPS and rude clerk and he’s the Notary . I understand the limitation during the Pandemic but I was unloading pre-labeled cartons from the car. Dropped off two carton went to the car parked outside and clearly informed him I was coming right back literally 30 seconds. He could inform the person who went in that he was taking care of somebody but he did not. Told me that I had wait outside in the rain no less. I waited 15 minute holding cartons and once in the transaction took only 10 seconds. Just plain uncaring and stupid. In the future will be going to 8th Street between Fifth Ave and University Place.
Sheer misery. The blender I shipped several weeks ago went missing. When I asked about it I was told the claim they filed (and never told me about) had been denied because the blender was poorly packed. I said I had given it to them to pack. The surly gentleman behind the counter said he remembers me because when he asked about putting it in another box I refused saying thats how it came from Amazon. I told him we never had that conversation and I didnt get the blender from Amazon. And Im supposed to believe his memory especially considering how many people go through there every day. He wouldnt listen and dismissed me. Blew his mind when I asked about getting the shipping costs refunded. He said hed ask and let me know. Bottom line I know Im going to be out that money too. The people in this store are miserable and act like the customers are inconveniencing them. Life is too short to deal with this level of negativity (never mind ripping me off financially). I will NOT be going back.
The guys here were great, just doing their jobs. The policies are insane. You have to use their computer to print a label - $3 minimum. Then $2 to tape the box. I went around the corner to Fedex and Got everything I needed for 75 cents. Stepping over dollars to pickup dimes? Sure, Im a man of principle.
Placed a print order this morning to pick up this afternoon and was told via email confirmation it was ready later in the afternoon. I assumed that meant the store was open and where it appeared on a map, neither of which turned out to be true 🙄 I went to the store only to see a sign that said they have moved locations. Went to the new location and was told they aren’t open until Monday. Ridiculous that they still say “open” on google and on their website.
Glad this location is closed, they were very rude and charged you $5 per item you recieved if you used their address, which I found ridiculous, why should I pay you as a pick up point, if I paid for my merchandise? Glad theyre gone!! They all were very unprofessional!! Good Riddance!!
My visit at ups today was different Luis was dealing with a crazy customer and he handled the situation really professionally. Kash was also in there for the assist. Meanwhile kash helped assistances me with my shipping. Both some of the friendliest ups guys I have been assigned by and they definitely didn’t deserve such a bad treatment from customers..
Sent some very expensive chairs from here that they packed by them, and was marked fragile, and upon delivery they were found completely broken and a double box completely smashed. Awful and upsetting. Irreplaceable chairs. Even though they were insured it is a crime that they would destroy boxes marked fragile. Beware
This is one of the worse UPS drop off locations I have ever been to. The staff is rude and not very helpful with packaging questions. Even when there are no other customers in the store, they seem to not see that you are looking for help. When you finally get their attention they are unfamiliar with their products and cannot explain their price structure. If there is any other UPS store near you, dont go to this one.
Whatever you do DONT expect them to be polite or helpful. It would seem like the last thing on earth they want is your business. What you should expect is extremely high prices. I understand its NoHo, Manhattan, but these prices are absolutely absurd. And from the looks of many of the other reviews it doesnt come with a happy ending.
For the third time I went in there to get something notarized. All three times I called ahead to make sure the notary was there. The first two times I called and was told he would be there till 4pm. By the time I got there (3:50pm and 2pm respectively) he was gone. No explanation. The other workers seemed to find the whole thing pretty funny. This last time I called to confirm he was there and wouldnt be leaving for the next hour. When I got there 10 minutes later, he had gone to the bank and was told he would be back in 15 minutes. Never going back.
TERRIBLE. Associate who helped me had horrible BO. I paid for a porcelain plate to be packaged and shipped, and they packed it with....NOTHING! They literally threw it in a box! Now its broken and Im dealing with negative Ebay reviews and having to refund buyer and having to chase these clowns (UH, manager isnt in, doesnt work weekends). ANGRY.
I love this place ..no nonsense ..very fast and professional .. most of the bad reviews come from people from Kansas or some other in the middle of no where town .. this is New York .. get in ship and keep it moving .. the review below .. its a ups store not usps .. u should have went to the post office lolol
Notary refused to notarize a document that could have been notarized. He refused to read the instructions from my company’s lawyers and just claimed that he knew better, but he would not actually read the document fully or the instructions at all. All he said is that he couldn’t sign it because I wasn’t signing. After I left I sat and fully read the document and it was very clear that he actually could have notarized it because there was an area for me to sign, he just wouldn’t take the time to look for it. Per NYS Notary law, as a public servant, depriving another person of their right to get something notarized is actually considered Official Misconduct and a Class A misdemeanor. Directly from NY Notary Public License Law. “2. He knowingly refrains from performing a duty which is imposed upon him by law or 1s Clearly inherent in the nature of his office.” And is further defined in the same document, “Notary must officiate on request. The Penal Law (§195.00) provides that an officer before whom an oath or affidavit may be taken is bound to administer the same when requested, and a refusal to do so is a misdemeanor. (People v. Brooks, 1 Den. 457.)”Know your rights when dealing with these people. Know what can and can’t be notarized because they have no idea. It’s very clear they don’t fully know what they are to notarize when requested and they don’t know the entirety of their role as a public servant. All in all very rude and unprofessional. Made me feel stupid for no reason and argued with me for no reason when he could have been much nicer and helped me come to a solution. I do not suggest this location if you need customer service because it does not exist at this location.

2022-06-05Arrived at 2:00 on a Saturday. Sign on door says, “OUT TO LUNCH. BE BACK SOON. I waited at least 20 min after that. The hours on Saturday start at 11am and end at 5pm. This happened a couple weekends ago too. Are they that understaffed? Every weekday it’s been okay, but sometimes there’s a line out the door.

2021-12-27I would like to give a shout out to Alex who works at this location. Although, through no fault of UPS, sometimes packages go missing (blame usps) - Alex is always very thorough and has helped me navigate issues with lost packages. He goes above and beyond a lot and I really appreciate how helpful he is! Thanks Alex!!!!

2021-12-20The slowest ups store ever. On Monday morning at 10 am there were 5 (potential) clients in line and only one employee, translating in 25 minutes to just drop off a package without even getting a receipt because they were too busy! I think I will bring my business elsewhere, this is not acceptable

2022-01-21Screws up my shipment, makes me come back over a ~$5 extra difference, and then charges me $8 for a cardboard box after wasting my time. Now waiting for a refund on the original shipment.

2021-10-06Just tried to resend a package that came from the same company and was refused because “too many batteries and it will catch on fire “. Tried calling but no response and can’t leave a message either. Is this a joke??? Is this how small businesses help others??? Thank you ups!

2020-08-05The people who work at this shop are always courteous. However, the owner is EXTREMELY RUDE. I haven’t encountered a person who willingly went into a service business and has such hatred for people for no reason. This is one angry, horrible little man. Save yourself the trouble of being screamed at and drop off your packages elsewhere!
