The UPS Store in other cities:
Shipped my bucket list vintage guitar from Thos Cornell Galleries auction out to California. Kristin responded promptly to email and called to help me review options on shipping method and insurance. The guitar was very securely packed and arrived in perfect condition. Great care was apparent in all the little details in the packing. The UPS system sent alerts along the way. Kristen had checked on my shipment status online and called me to insure my item safe arrival. Arranging shipping remotely could be challenging this was a smooth, professional and secure experience. Highly recommend this team.
I purchased fragile Items at Auction . I talked to Kristen at USPS on pickup , packaging and delivery. She was very helpful and explained the whole process. I received the items within the promised timeline .Everything was better wrapped then I expected. The pricing was very reasonable too.Can only recommend this place!
I had contacted the UPS Store #2216 via email for a pickup, pack & ship quote for several items that I bought at a local auction. And then, I received a timely reply from Kristin (store Mgr.) who offered up a very reasonable quote, so I decided to use this business for my shipping needs for the first time & honestly... I was thoroughly pleased with every aspect. The fragile antiques were packed EXCEPTIONALLY WELL & every interaction was friendly & professional. I will definitely use them again because I know I will not have to worry about anything. They are fast, friendly, awesome packers & have very reasonable rates. I highly RECOMMEND using the UPS Store #2216!
Terrible service. Clearly by the other reviews here this has been going on for a while, so perhaps the owner should chime in, though he/she probably doesn’t care since it’s a prepaid item. Verizon literally lists in their instructions to send their phones back in the box provided. The box is a FedEx box. I am sending back my $1000 phones exactly how the company wants them. Just because some high and mighty owner can’t handle shipping a box with his competitors name on it doesn’t mean I’m changing how I’m shipping my stuff. So childish. Then I’m told by the employee that UPS is not Verizon. I’ve used this place plenty but definitely going elsewhere from now on. The owners dumb policy will probably drive me to use FedEx from now on.
I went to this store today to send a package to Illinois with 30K of insurance. I was quoted $1070.00. I walked out and went to the Post Office and spent 74 bucks to send it registered mail and fully insured for 30K. For the price they quoted me, I could’ve put the package in an Uber and it would have had it’s own personal driver all the way to Illinois! While the employee was nice, the place is a total rip off.
UPS is our preferred shipping partner. What sets them apart is the customer service. Victoria at this location is amazing. We needed notary public services and other shipping requirements. She made the entire experience a very pleasant one. She was very professional and helpful. UPS main strength is the employees like Victoria. Ask for her next time you are there.
Just this morning I stopped in to drop off an Amazon package and verbally complimented Daniel that this is one of the most friendly customer service driven stores that I frequent. Each and every time I enter, Im greeted with kindness. They are fast and efficient, call me by name and always wish me a great day. Sadly you dont get that kind of service any more, ESPECIALLY by the younger generation. Im so happy with this stores level of service and just wanted to make it known :)
The employees at this establishment are unparalleled in the service they give. I was helped by Daniel who really turned my day around. I had just come from another UPS where I received horrible service. Daniel talked me down from being upset with kindness and compassion while getting my package prepared at the same time! Im going to this store every single time I need to go to UPS from now on.
Very poor customer service. Verizon wireless sends warranty replacements via FedEx and provides a prepaid UPS label to ship back the defective device. The girl at the counter would not accept the shipment because it was in a fedex box with UPS label. I work for Verizon and never once has a customer come into the store to tell us UPS would not ship back their package because of the FedEx box. Furthermore, she could have offered a sharpie the black out the logo. Simple. Instead she seemed happy that she was exercising this policy and sending me away frustrated. Brought it to staples drop off and they said that was not a policy and they ship them all day every day with the FedEx box.
There is a new policy in place charging $25 for packages over 50 lbs. This is nothing but a money grab. It serves no purpose. I asked to speak to a manager, and the staff called a woman on the phone (I think it was the owner). My package was an Amazon return, so I asked that the fee be waived. I was told the store is independently owned and operated - which to me, would dictate that the independent owner could waive the fee - but was told no. So I drove 11 minutes up to the UPS store on Main Street in Holbrook, and they took my package right away with no fee. I will NEVER use this store again (after 20+ years of going there). ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Dropped off a return package here and later noticed an email from the original retailer saying that the shipping label had expired. I called this store and a very friendly staff member was able to hold my package until I could get there and put on the correct new label. She then greeted me with a smile and wished me well. She went out of the way to be helpful and bring warmth to a frustrated me and succeeded in turning my day around. I will be exclusively using this store from now on for my shipping needs.
The people at this store were courteous, helpful and took car of my problem in mailing back license plates to NY DMV. The plates were received at DMV 2 days earlier then expected. I appreciated how they handled my problem and have continued to business there. UPS Store Patchogue NY
My recent experience with this particular store and its Manager is very disappointing. I had a very important package to deliver, and I stopped by during my lunch break. I had boxed the item and had a pre-paid label, and was looking to just get a receipt. The clerk told me that the masking tape I used was not proper and she wouldn’t accept the package. Confused I asked her if could use their tape. She said sure but that would cost you $5.00.Now prior to this I had just found out that my bank account was hacked, and had virtually lost all my money, and I explained to her that while $5.00 isn’t a lot of money, in my current situation spending any kind of money was not feasible to me. So, I explained to her my situation, and explained to I had no “shipping tape” at home, and she said there was noting that she could do.I asked to speak to her Manager, and once again explained the situation, and was practically in tears, and she didn’t offer any real sympathy or concession. Once again, I was told they couldn’t accept the package. As I drove off upset, I saw that the Staples a few stores down had a UPS inside of it. So, I went inside and they accept my package with no questions or hesitations. This whole experience was very disappointing, and I think some leniency could have been extended to me, but as such I will make it a point to share my experience of what transpired at this store, and make sure not to go there again.
I made a purchase at a local auction house online, and needed it packed and shipped to Idaho. The item was a large antique stained glass window. It was in a weak condition, being very old and extremely fragile. They packed it extremely well in bubble wrap, foam peanuts and double boxed. The window arrived just as it was when purchased. The communication was excellent throughout the transaction. Also they collected the window from the auction house, packed and shipped the same day. After receiving price quotes from other shippers, I was pleased with the price I was charged. I would have them do it all over again, and highly recommend them to others.Very friendly staff!
The UPS store in Patchogue is great. I have been using their services for a few years now. The staff is incredible, Lisa, Jenn, Veronica, Kristin, Courtney and Kevin are fantastic. They are a friendly and professional group. The store is open later than the post office so I can take care of my mail needs after business hours, and I get emails when packages arrive. I would definitely recommend this location to any business professional. I am a very satisfied customer.
Had to return my textbooks from my most recent semester. When I walked in I was immediately greeted with a smile. The staff was happy and laughing and extremely friendly. I wish more places had staff like this !!she made sure I had everything I needed and then explained to me that if anything were to go wrong with my order that I have the proof of return on the receipt which I had no clue about so thats pretty cool too. I didnt catch her name but she was super informative and sweet. The place was clean, things were neat and the staff was great. Honestly 10/10. !! Stay positive guys !!
I came to this UPS store as it was the closest to my home to ship out a front bumper to NC. Originally was given a rough quote over the phone for $75-$100. When I arrived I was told that the part was borderline freight, and could not be accepted in the bubble wrap and packing paper I had it in. I was quoted $313 for shipping alone and was told there would be a charge of $150 for two boxes, they also could not offer insurance for the shipment.I left and went immediately to a FedEx shipping center and paid $86 and change for a 3 day delivery with insurance. No questions to my wrap, the rep even commented thats wrapped up pretty secure.Be careful using this location, they will bait you in with a low quote and then gouge the price when your in the building. I will never use this location again.
Amazon package return: box came to me messed up from UPS shipping so I’m returning it. Wouldn’t accept to take it back as a return unless I pay a $2 tape fee or buy a roll of tape. Wasn’t my fault and now I have to pay? Been to countless UPS stores that would just look the other way for a 5 inch piece of tape. Look for another UPS store
I visited this location to send my daughters college items to upstate NY . I was greeted with a smile. The staff was extremely nice and help me through every step of the process. My daughters packages made it there on exactly the day I was told, unharmed. I will be using this location to send items throughout the year as I was very pleased with the service.
Had to ship a Verizon phone back, I’ve probably done this at least 10 times with no problems in the past, the box and prepaid label are provided by Verizon. Went here on a Sunday a few weeks back, a rude woman behind the counter tells me she can’t ship it with the fedex logos on the box, I tell her okay I have packing tape I’ll just fully cover them with it. Then she says she still wouldn’t be able to ship it since she saw it was a fedex box (what???) and the only possible way for her to ship it is to buy an $8 box from her. Don’t waste your time here like I did , I walked to staples next door and they did it no problem.
I was the customer she was talking to. the person that wrote the review and said she was rude was completely inaccurate. I have been a customer there for many years, including when the prior owner was there, and all that work there are polite and informative. The owner works very hard and since she has taken ownership the store has improved tremendously. I do not know why someone would write such a review. She was trying to use an amazon return post office label and couldnt. Maybe ???????
If I could give absolutely zero stars I would. I will never ever go back to this UPS store. I needed no bigger then a four inch piece of tape to secure my box and the customer service wanted to charge me for it. I said forget it and send the box he said, “They can’t ship it without taping the box.” He would of never know the box wasn’t taped because the boxed seals with the side tabs and the original tape was still on. He told me I could bring it back and tape it myself or buy a roll of tape. I bought a roll of tape. He then sealed my box with a ton of tape because he obviously knew it was ridiculous I had to just buy the roll of tape.Honestly, if I didn’t have to drag my son with me to run errands I would of went somewhere else to ship it. I really should of went somewhere else and not give them the business.
Once again I received extraordinary, helpful, service, this time by Samantha (IIRC her name). She helped me navigate to a shipping label I had saved on my phone, so I could email it to the store so as to get it printed. The last time I was there the woman who helped me ship a SSD for an RMA was also helpful, and very up on what needed to be done. Ha, and then there was the time my niece needed some Taylor Swift notebooks, only available on Long Island, shipped to her right away. :) This store is a genuine pleasure to use!
Terrible service. Wouldnt use a prepaid Ups label and FedEx box supplied by Verizon to return a phone. Nor would close my small box with tape or cover the FedEx logo unless I purchased tape. Walked out and went to Staples next door. They closed my box and gave me a 25% off coupon as well. Go to Staples next door, they are super accommodating.
Nice ladies working there but its a TOTAL RIP. They charged me $157, when i got home I called UPS international to double check if this was the correct price as per my package size, weight... They replied that this store is a franchise store and could charge more, so i went back and got my package with a refund for the $157. Anyway, just got home from the UPS facility on horseblock rd. Just paid $61. same package.
This store almost caused me to spend almost $150 MORE in shipping than necessary. Extremely disappointed by my experience here, and after reading earlier reviews, it seems I am not alone in my opinion. I needed to ship a large wall clock (34 long, 13 at widest point, and approximately 6 deep). I have experience packing fragile items, but since this was so long, I did not have a box to fit it. I knew that a larger box (which I didnt have) could be cut to fit in order to keep the dimensions down, so I asked UPS what they would charge to box it. I was told $55 (just under $60 with tax!!). I hesitated because that is a lot money, but I figured it would be well packed in a cost effective manner, and I would be saved the hassle of cutting a box to size. Imagine my SHOCK when I see the packaged clock - it was in a 37 x 33 x 37 box!! When I get the box home to print the label (at home so I could get my account discount), the shipping cost, with those dimensions, was $205.65!!!!! I went back to UPS with the package to tell them this was unacceptable. A man working told me he would talk to the manager. I related to the mgr. the clocks dimensions and the fact that the excessive packing created a ridiculous shipping fee. She spoke to the woman who packed it to see if it could be put in a smaller box. This was a huge problem b/c that woman was EXTREMELY defensive and rude, immediately stating that it was the only way to pack it and she has been packing items for years, and to have someone come in with no experience packing fragile items (but, ahem, I have over 12 years packing fragile items...)is ridiculous. This was such a turn off. I reiterated that there was no reason for the smallest side of the box to be 21, and the second smallest side to be 33 (!) when those dimensions of the clock were 6 and 13. With her packing, the 6 depth of clock became 21 in box, and the 13 actual width measurement of clock became 33 (!!!). At this point I said I would rather just take the clock back and get a refund for the packing. Mgr said not possible since the time was already spent packing. Really? But since they could keep all the materials, was packing being billed at $55 an hour? Long story short, it was agreed that they would repackage it with smaller dimensions. Defensive packing woman could be heard in the other room grumbling that she could do this if I would sign off on the packing. Sensibly, the mgr said no. Really, the reason I was bringing it there was for safe packing! Finally, I had a smaller box, 32 x 9 x 37 that cost $59.18 to ship. Remember with their first packaging the cost would have been $205.65. Yes, that is a difference of 146.47 in shipping fees!! BTW the new box used less peanuts and styrofoam, but I was not reimbursed any money from first packaging. I still needed to go home to print my label. The mgr asked if I wanted to leave the package there while I did that, but I said no. I honestly felt like the packer would sabotage the package to prove her original packaging was the only way it could ship safely. I brought the package to the Sayville UPS the next day. I bet soon there will be 3 or 4 more glowing reviews to cover this one as that seems to be a pattern if you read all the prior reviews... Speaking of which, how does the one follow up reviewer know that he was the customer a previous disgruntled customer was writing about in her review? LOL
I always go here to drop off packages for my Side Business and they always treat me very very well . Sometimes theres a line but you know, what it gets busy every where ! My packages are always handled properly and they go the extra mile to help me when I need ! Thanks a Bunch !
Needed a notary and to send those documents. Nick and Victoria greeted me and were AWESOME! Nick was thorough, efficient, personable and fast. Both were quick to greet and very friendly. In this day and age when it is particularly difficult to deal with the public... these two were model employees!! Thanks
Very dishonest staff at this store! They quote the shipping prices way-way, much higher than the online UPS. Even if you ask them the most economical option to ship they dont give you the honest answer. They are ripping people off at this store, horrible service! There has to be an investigation done by UPS CORPORATION !!!!!
UPS told me to come here to return the package that was delivered to my house by mistake. this store is not part of UPS it is individually owned therefore they do not fulfill all obligations of UPS including receiving packages that need to be returned to Sender............ I called ups and they said it does not make sense.
This location is operating against UPS official policy they refuse to put a single line of tape on my Box which was 12 by 12 by 12 , I had duck tape with me and they told me I could not use duct tape because they are driver would refuse it and I had to purchase tape from them. The girl with colored contacts will tell you to your face that this is the official UPS policy but its not

2022-07-01This is the best UPS store around. And Daniel is the man!Let me start out by saying I’ve had a box here for awhile now. I think it’s very reasonably priced, and when getting the box I did not expect such white glove service as I have received. I’m notified immediately when a package has arrived, and I’ve received personal phone calls when I was concerned about something time sensitive. My dealings with Daniel have been impeccable. He cares about the customers that come through there whether it’s shipping a small Amazon package off, a large industrial air conditioner. The woman who is the manager is kind and quick to resolve issues. She went out of her way to locate a missing package and even had the Post Office bring it back. That’s 5 star service! My only gripe is they don’t have 24 hour box pickup, but I don’t think the store is setup that way anyways. What I can also say is all the other employees work hard. Sometimes it can get really busy there. I see customers getting frustrated sometimes, but I say, give them a break. It’s hard packing all your stuff up, entering into the computer, and then having people having ridiculous demands. This is the last bit of social interaction we have left in this world, enjoy it while you can. We all have somewhere to be. But counting on UPS Patchogue to make sure your packages arrive safe, and on time? Well, crack a smile and be nice, because they’ve got you covered!

2022-08-05You would think a shipping center would have a sliding glass door. They dont. They have a door you need to pull outwards. This is extremely difficult when carrying a large or heavy box. I wont return until I see an automatic sliding door installed. You can ship UPS next door at Staples where they make it easy for you. Also no long line or nasty employees at Staples either.

2022-08-15Have been using UPS for last 6 years with the most amazing customer experience, this is the first ever location where they charge you $2 to put a tape on top of the box if its open. None of the other UPS locations have ever asked for such fee.

2022-02-28TLDR: Rude scammers, don’t go here.I tried to drop off a prepaid package at this location today, and the employee at the counter told me he couldn’t take it because it wasn’t in the right box. Something about the drivers not being able to deliver boxes with stuff printed on them? I reused that box from a package that had been shipped to me via UPS, so it seems to me that the UPS drivers are perfectly capable of figuring out what’s the label and what’s not, and this “rule” is something this particular store made up. He then said they could repackage it for me, for a fee of course, and everything comes clear. I asked if there was another store nearby I could try and he said he didn’t know and made no attempt to offer help. When I turned away, he gave me one of those snarky “have a nice day”s that actually mean, well, you know what it actually means. He was curt and rude during the entire interaction. I took my package to another UPS store, which accepted it without batting an eye. I won’t be taking any packages to this location again. Also, rude guy told me the stores are independently owned and operated, which means you can go to another UPS store and not support this awful location.Edited to add: They tried to look like the good guys in their response below, but the package was not sent to me from Amazon, and it was not an Amazon return. Amazon had literally nothing to do with this package. This UPS Store was making up its own store policies, not following Amazon instructions. As I said above, I took the package to another UPS Store, where they took it without a problem.

2022-08-13How do you charge a customer for 1 strip of tape going across a small box the same amount it costs to buy a small roll of tape? I just left another ups store franchise and had to ship something off later in the day same scenario I wasnt charged anything there. As someone who used to work for a ups franchise Im heavily disappointed In the attempt to scrape money for every little thing rather than making a lifelong customer. Definitely never going back to this location especially when there is a staples a few stores down.

2022-04-30Dont use this place if your shipping something on mercari… i put it so the person buying my item pays for shipping and this was my first time shipping something, which the ups store made me pay 15 dollars to ship the item so they basically double dipped on me and the person buying the item.. i even said to the older lady im pretty sure the shipping was paid for already, i think she was ignorant and didnt care. I never got the money back either…

2022-06-02I understand that ups and the ups store are different not thanks to the lady who was very rude working behind the counter... I would suggest skipping this store for a different location. Seemed bothered that I had questions and did not understand the difference because a few months previous they did took the same slip and accepted it and today they told me I had to go to the ups customer center not there.
