Food was delicious! The salmon was perfectly medium well but the lentils were slightly undercooked. The lobster mac was super cheesy, not too salty and the lobster was cooked perfectly the consistency was buttery and juicy. The truffle mashed potatoes were creamy and the layers of flavor are out of this world. The view is unlike any other view of the city but because the restaurant turns slowly you may experience slight nausea.I had my dessert, cheesecake to go, and it was good cheesecake with strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries. We ordered a bottle of Cristal and our quality of service increased tremendously. Our waiter was never bad, they just became way more attentive once the champagne was order. The place was packed and there were several people celebrating birthdays, Id recommend you go here for special occasions unless youre ready to spend 100$+ on a meal on a casual night.
We went for Sunday Brunch during Thanksgiving weekend. The restaurant was mostly empty during our 10am seating, but was filling quickly toward 12 noon when we left.Service, views, and food were all top notch. We plan to return next Thanksgiving. The two hour brunch buffet is about $65 per person and worth it, in my opinion.
Such a great experience. The food was amazing. The crab cake was fresh. The lamb was succulent. The dessert was so flavorful. Everything was beautifully presented. The service was exceptional. The ambience was elegant and the views from the 47th floor were stunning. It took us about an hour to rotate back to our original position. Definitely will visit again.
I went there for my birthday and the experience was nothing short of astounding. The elevator that leads to the lounge gives you beautiful views of the hotel. Mind you, there is an $8 cover charge after 8pm on all days. The buffet was brilliant with endless salad and dessert options. Meat variety was not that much but you cant ask for anything more for just $40. I tried 7-8 different cocktails and all of them were great. Our server Pete impressed us with his quick and polite service. He even made a special dessert for me with cream and strawberries and put candles on it to make it special for my bday!It takes roughly 70mins for you to get one 360 degree rotation. The views are amazing. Planning to come back again during the daytime!
A great spot for a romantic dinner or drinks and small bites from the lounge. You great great views from the 48th floor and you rotate full circle in an hour. A perfect spot for cocktails with a sunset view! The only drawback is if you are not a hotel guest they charge $8 person cover.
Came for dinner during restaurant week to celebrate my anniversary, I felt that there was a great value in the $42 restaurant week special because you get 3 courses, all which were delicious. I had an excellent server named Eric who was extremely attentive and was excited to share a few jokes along with suggestions on meal and drink choice. As we were celebrating our anniversary, our desserts came decorated with a little sign wishing us a happy anniversary. I loved that personal touch- it was very sweet and made our experience that much more memorable. We had a window seat so we had great views of Manhattan.
We booked 5 months in advance to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday at The View - naturally, we reserved a table at the window. When we arrived however, we were not seated at the window and were simply told “we don’t accept window table reservations”. Given that I called there twice, the second time to increase the number of seats, I do remember very well having asked specifically whether or not we can still sit at the window with the higher number of guests and was assured that we can. In all fairness though the food was really good and our waitress at the table, Robin, very nice and accommodating. Both unfortunately couldn’t make up for the very disappointing experience and whoever thinks about celebrating something special at The View should be aware that even if confirmed on the phone, the staff will only honor specific reservations for window tables if that suits by accident.
Surprisingly bad. Went here about a year ago and still remember what a disappointment it was. The foie gras was extremely salty. The steak was dry and tasteless. The gnocchi was delicious. Dessert was good. Overall an aggressively mediocre experience. Beautiful view, nice waiters. However at its price point, I consider it to be very bad. Could be worth 4 stars at 40% of the original price.
The View, revolving restaurant is a must visit if in New York! Amazing location, incredible views, staff absolutely fantastic. Luis and Ray went above and beyond with the friendly service and knowledge of the sights as the restaurant revolved. The food was tremendous. Great experience and highly recommend a visit if in New York
This restaurant was absolutely wonderful. The staff is incredibly attentive and so helpful. The food was great and the portions were very filling. When I ordered dessert, I accidentally got the wrong one and once I let our waiter know, the mistake was immediately corrected and the proper one was brought out. It was a wonderful evening.
It was wonderful experience eventhough we didnt expect it would be buffet not a fine dining. Cold cuts and desserts are amazing. Our server Antonio (Spanish version of Richard Gere) was wonderful! Enjoy your time and dont forget to make a reservation ahead of time. You can do it online.
I wouldnt recommend this place for dining because personally it sucks. I came here to celebrate my friends birthday, as he was eager to try THE VIEW, a place recommended by his friends. I had high expectations too as i imagined a restaurant in the 48th floor must provide good food and drink. They charge $8 entrance fee per person after 8pm.They only have buffet night time for $40/person.The food and dessert section are quite small. There is not a lot of variety of food and is not tasty at all. Most of the desserts are really sweet. For 2 people it came out around $148 (tax and tips included) only for buffet fee and 2 drinks.
This duplex Restaurant and Lounge is wonderful, It sits inside and on top of the Marriott Maquis in the heart of Timesquare. To get to it its a bit tricky, you have to go up to the third floor which you can get to using escalators from the ground floor. Once on the third floor you will see a row of elevators with one marked The View. The Restaurant is located on the 48th floor, and once your in the elevator it will zip up pretty quickly....so enjoy the ride. You are greeted by the hostess upon entry and he/she will seat you at a available table. The Restaurant itself is very nice, upscale, organized, clean, and has a soft dimmed ambiance setting with lit candles on each table and not to mention the View is beautiful especially at night as the entire restuarant rotates in a 360 view. This Restaurant and Lounge is great for business meetings, dates, anniversaries, Romance etc etc. Food and beverages where delicious and great, buffets open to self serve, service is pretty good, restrooms are clean but be warned this place is a tad bit pricey...so know what your getting into before hand. Overall my experience at this place was great and memorable, I am sure to return again and recommend this place for sure.
The service is beyond amazing, the view of course is stellar. I would suggest booking a reservation around sunset, its beautiful overlooking the Hudson River. The food, I am disappointed to say, was sub-par than I would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. The appetizers were good. We got the asparagus ravioli and the crab cake. Fresh, no fillers... The entrees were the disappointment. We got the pork chop and the paella. The pork chop was under seasoned but the apple jus was amazing. The seafood in the paella was cooked perfect but the rice under the seafood was undercooked. It stuck to my teeth. The desserts were great! We went for the pavlova (spelling?) and pumpkin spice one... Delicious.. overall a great experience.. had the servers been sub-par it would have made the experience terrible.
I would rate the ambiance and professionalism high but their food not so much. My husband ordered the Surf and Turf and the lobster was tough. I ordered the filet mignon which was good, but tasted like your avg. steak. Overall it was pretty cool with the amazing view of the city, the rotating floor and the friendliness of our waiter. I am giving three stars b/c I feel if youre paying a higher than average price for food, the presentation of the food should be presented neatly and the food more flavorful.
New Yorks only revolving rooftop restaurant - definitely worth checking out. The wait staff was nice and attentive. The restaurants main draw is of course the revolving view, situated stop the Marquis on the 48th floor. The food itself was great but admittedly overpriced. The Prixe Fixe menu was well put together. The wine list was impressive.Seating by the window is quite the wait, so be aware and it is not guaranteed.Overall, great for one-offs - special occasions or an out of town visitor.
Was a great experience. We had a great meal. Atmosphere was appropriate for the location. Quiet but active. Can talk at normal levels at table. Extesive wine list with some great options. Cocktail menu seems a little short. Limited beer options.Meal was done exactly as requested; steaks cooked perfectly. Some of the best brussel sprouts Ive ever tasted. Interesting potatoes with meal, but really good. Deserts were great.View is really nice. Lower area seems to be a little more obstructed, but still good. If you can get a window seat, they are really great.
I attended this place for brunch. The service was fantastic! The View was perfect! And the experience of rotating throughout our meal was amazing! The food selection was nice but I feel that it was missing a few key items. I didnt give it a 5 because they allowed a group of people to the right of us to be very obnoxious. Valet parking was additional $40. The elevator experience was nice and overalls we enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely recommend this place and I plan to go back or dinner to get a different experience and viewing.
The main gimmick of this restaurant is obviously the revolving seating area which does provide a beautiful view but is obscured a little by some dirty inside and outside windows (and the obvious support structures). The food is a prix fixe three-course meal with a variety of options. Our party selected the steak and a filet mingon. The food does taste good but the portion size is perhaps a bit much - we couldnt finish the full plate of the steak and definitely could not stomach a dessert after. Unfortunately also the lobster mac-n-cheese side dish had gone off as it had a very strong bitter taste which led to one of our party members to vomit almost immediately after leaving the restaurant (which was a little aggravated by the revolving seats). Nevertheless the service and staff were friendly and efficient - if you enjoy the gimmick of revolving restaurants this is a definite visit but if you prefer your food motionless, it definitely easier to visit an observation tower instead.
Stopped by for cocktails and a nice view of NYC. The service was slow and basically non-existent...the drinks were good, but when we wanted to leave it took over 20 minutes just to get our server to request the check; and the restaurant wasn’t even busy...ambiance not worth the pricy beverages. We were hoping to have a snack with our drinks, but for the price of the buffet, it was severely lacking on options, so we opted to go elsewhere for food.
I would go!What I loved:My girlfriend loved everything she was served. The steak was delicious. The view. The view makes the price worth it!What I didnt like:The server asked to include the 18% tip with the bill which I found to be odd. Maybe I just dont go to fancy restaurants enough but I have never had someone ask that and didnt particularly like it.Outside of my steak, I found the food to be okay. My girlfriend loved everything so it could just be me.The desert menu includes ice cream which is nice for people like me who like to keep it simple, Yet you cant even put toppings on it. Come on, give me some sprinkles!!Overall, I would go again.
From the elevator ride up to the coffee at the end of the meal it was a great time. It rotates a full 360 degrees in about an hour so you will see every direction of the city in your meal. I appreciated that they had napkins with a guide to all the buildings that were in view. We got the mudslides and they were great. The staff was so helpful and friendly.
Nice and trendy restaurant on top of Marriott Marquis Hotel. The restaurant rotates/turns on its own axis once per hour, approximately. If you come short time before dusk, you will have a great view/prospect by daylight as well as by night. The restaurant is a little bit exclusive and upmarket. But you can only take some drinks, if you want to eat dinner somewhere else. You can get the best tables/seats which are located directly at the windows if you are two persons. Three and more persons will be guided and assigned to tables in the second and third row.
First of all, I have to say the the food is amazing. Came here for Brunch for a birthday celebration and we all enjoyed it to the max. There are 2 mimosas included and price comes out to $92 with taxes and everything included. It is a buffet style with 4 different stations. This restaurant does offer a 360 view since it goes around the entire building.Besides all the good stuff, i was kind of disappointed that my table wasn’t ready when i got there. I made this reservation THREE WEEKS AGO! It really was a ridiculously 20 mins wait. The first round of mimosas were great, but then the second one was all orange juice. It is a little complicated to get there, but good thing they have staff everywhere that helped us get there quicker.Overall, food and service was good. The View is nice but not something out of this world. I’ve seen better.
I dont recommend this place. It does sound cool when you hear its on a rotating platform and you get a 360 view, but the whole experience is totally not worth it. Food and drinks are mediocre, presentation isnt great, but most importantly the waitress wasnt friendly or customer oriented and the decor in the restaurant is old, outdated, not at all modern as youd imagine when you hear about a place like this in a Marriott hotel. If you want a nice view of Manhattan, Id recommend going to the top of the Rockefeller center or some other roof top bar - the money you spend on drinks here can totally be used in other places and have better value.
A great place to have a view over the city!Youll enjoy a 360° restaurant with a great view. The View is amazing, the drinks a great, the staff is a bit rude...If youre going during the buffet, its not really welcoming as its presented...I would recommend to go for a drink!
The View was absolutely amazing, I went there for pre- Theater dinner. I will advise people before you go, please research their menu online, it helps alot. The complaints about prices are from the uninformed. I decided before hand that I will do the buffet , when I arrived it was a little confusing to get inside the hotel, but thats the beauty of New York, someone is always there to help, its located right before the parking lot, as you reach inside there are signs directing you where to go, 3rd floor. On the 3rd floor, there are always staff members available and willing to assist you to get on the elevator to the 48th floor. When I got to the 48th floor I let the hostess know that I will be having the buffet. they seated me to my table , and the view was amazing. There is a slight rotation, not anything to get you dizzy. The buffet stations consisted of pasta, mashed potatoes, quinoa , bread, salads, meat , there are dessert stations which had a great variety of selected pastries, fruits and a chocolate machine. GREAT VALUE! with the unlimited buffet dinner, I ordered a chocolate martini which, I highly recommended and everything was delicious ! The buffet is $40, there is a small charge for non guest of the hotel( I think ranges from$5-$8) plus with the chocolate martini my bill was $63, not bad at all. The waitress was very helpful, she made sure I was seated and ate in time for me to get to the Lion King. I will highly recommend the view relaxed ambiance to enjoy the New York City skyline.
It was very good experience but i felt spinning the whole time. The view is a must to see. If you want window table u have to wait a little more. Staff is very friendly and funny. I wish I remembered the waiter ‘s name I only know he’s from Kentucky, he was very helpful & polite. Don’t leave without dessert
I wanted to like it more... I really did. But it was just ok. The wait even with a reservation was long. The food was ok. And the view was obstructed. Im glad to have had the experience, though. The best part of our evening was our waiter. I cant remember his name but he was so awesome and kind!
DID I MENTION THE RESTAURANT SPINS 50 feet up. The experience alone was one to remember. Be prepare to drop a few bucks but it will be worth it. Service food all four star. I had filet mignon and lobster of course my medium well was cooked to perfection and what kore could you expect. If you have never been please check this place off your bucket list.
Rotating room for a 360 view of Manhattan 48 floors up. I thought this was awesome since I was a first-timer to NYC. There was an $8 cover charge just to get in after 8pm, and drinks were pretty pricy, $16-$19 for 1 drink. Didnt try the food. Overall it was a cool experience! Definitely worth it just for the view.
In the heart of Manhatten this locations name is spot on! Add in the rotating floor and you have breathless stunning views to keep you enthralled the whole night! An absolute must visit, even if you just stop by for drinks, although i recommend coming here hungry for their buffet dinner!
Great setting. Rotating rooftop restaurant and lounge. Lounge serves small plates and buffet. Ate at restaurant. Views great. Food very good. Not excellent. Pre fixed menu. Many good choices. Services great. Would only go back for special occasions or out of towners. Had very nice night
The view is a Revolving Restaurant in the 48 Floor of the Marriott Marquis Hotel , to my Kids and Wife nothing new but for a average person kind of interesting good views of the City during the day and night it got 3 different choices of ordering buffet and a la carte
Fantastic view. This was our treat to ourselves on the last night of our honeymoon. I will say that you should know before you go, there is the buffet and the restaurant and they are VERY different. The restaurant is a suit and tie type of dinner. Expect to pay $200+ for two people without drinks (we ordered water). Dining and atmosphere is high end. If you are young (we are 25 and 30) they will not take you seriously. The food was okay at best and you get a appetizer, entree, and dessert. Food side items were bland and did not seem cooked well. The filet mignon was incredible and the only good thing about the meal. The chocolate sphere dessert would be good if you like extremely bitter chocolate. Over all, next time we will just stick to the buffet and enjoy the view.
I love love love this place. Its expensive ($60 Or so for brunch) but the location cannot be beaten. Brunch on a Sunday includes as much as you care to eat from an amazing selection of excellent food, plus two mimosas. You get to enjoy it high above the New York skyline in a restaurant that is revolving! What could be better?!I cant think of a better place to celebrate a special occasion.
I went to the View for brunch twice. Its a lovely place for birthdays or any special occasion. The presentation and selection of the foods are visually appealing as well as delectable to your taste buds. Apart from pleasing your appetite, you get a great rotating view of the NY skyline. They give you two hours to dine & enjoy the sites. I recommend you arrive before 1pm, to give yourself enough time as they start taking the food away by 2:30pm.
I would recommend this location specifically for the lounge and for an opportunity to see the New York skyline while resting your feet or between activities!I love taking guests here when they are in town, because you get to see so much of the beautiful skyline and because it is very conveniently located in Times Square, close to most hotels and many tourist activities. At the lounge you have a few food options including the buffet, but I would recommend getting a few drinks and waiting an hour for the full 360 turn of the rotation! Yes, the drinks are quite expensive (expect $20ish each) BUT it is free to get to the lounge, and they do not rush you, so you can enjoy your very delicious cocktail as you look out at the iconic skyline.I would recommend going early in the evening (4-6pm) because you can often go right up without having to wait, you will not be rushed, and you can see the beginning of sunset. This is the perfect activity for if you want to enjoy the sights of the city, but have a few hours to kill before a Broadway performance or dinner reservation.
WOW! LIKE ROYALTY! Great views from way up high of New York City. This luxury restaurant slowly revolved so you could see the fantastic historic buidings of the city. The waiters were so proper but so friendly and polite! We ate off fine cloth, had a 3 course meal, the desserts were a tough choice, the New York Cleese Cake was my choice of course. The waiters would tell us the name of the famous buildings as we passed by. I had a sangria which started the evening on a very happy note! Please put this restaurant on your list of musts. You wont regret it!
Review is for the lounge only. 4 stars for the incredible view, 3 stars for the food, at best. Its a buffet, with only 3 main entree options. Decent salad bar, but even with the chocolate fountain, the desserts fall flat on flavor. $45 for the adult buffet... What youre basically paying for here is the view, and the rotating platform.
Ambiance A+ Food taste AND portion sizes A+ - hubby took me there for an early mothers day dinner. We thought wed be hungry afterwards considering most high priced restaurants serve small portions - but nope! I brought home a doggy bag and hubby overstuffed himself just on the pre-fixe menu alone... my double pork chop and lemon chocolate bar... amazing!
Great place to visit if your in the Times Square area. We originally only went up for a drink but as we revolved around the buffet section we thought it would be rude to not enjoy some of the decent looking food. It was fairly priced and the staff were attentive and friendly. Some amazing views of the best city in the world while you eat. What more could you want?
The View restaurant is an indescribable experience. The menu has a intricate selection of wines and specialty drinks. The food menu was buffet based but there is a variety of healthy choices. The concierge as well as the waiters/ waitresses were very pleasant . Personally I loved the dessert selection . On the other hand the view at The View restaurant is amazing . The seating area actually rotates around the buffet area so everyone can get a 360 degree of the outside world . I loved this restaurant!!
The location is one of the most amazing in New York City. The restaurant is a rotating observatory in the middle of midtown with exciting views of the most famous NYC skyscrapers. Food is good. We enjoyed the menù during NYC restaurant week with a relatively affordable price. In my opinion, the dessert is the weakest part of the menù. Anyway the attraction of the restaurant is the location and not the food.
The place could be nice (Ive been to other rotating restaurants in other cities) but honestly, its not worth the time and money. The view is definitely not stunning for several reasons :- the (round) restaurant is enclosed in a square building, so the building outside the restaurant hides most of the view- the view is located on the 48th floor which is not high enough to overlook the city. The view that you have is basically the same as the one you would have in any hotel room on the same floor- the restaurant rotates, so at certain moments you have a little view on the sea, but most of the time what you (barely) see is the view on the neighboring buildings- the rotation is quite slow (compared to some other restaurants) so if you board the place when it is no longer possible to see the sea, youre very likely to wait 50-55 more minutes before enjoying any interesting view.Nevertheless, cocktails are good (try the Rosé Sangria, its a killer!) and staff are ok.
We only cam in for a quick drink so cant review the food. Quite expensive, but that is to be expected when you consider the location. As the name suggests, this place has an amazing view; a 360 of times square that rotates slowly while you dine. For that alone I would recommend coming in, even if its just for one drink at night, its a great experience.
Service is reaaaally slow but the bar itself is nice. They have a nice selection of drinks and I had the moscato which was good. The seating is really comfortable (which was great after a long day of walking) and they have a ton of TVs playing major sports games. Also, the elevators at the Mariott to get to the bar is a treat in itself
Brought my wife here after I proposed to her. Was the perfect cap to such an exciting event! Food was perfect, view was amazing as I made reservations for sunset hours. Could not have asked for a better place to have brought my wife for such an important dinner. Highly recommend!
My boyfriend made dinner reservations for my birthday and it was absolutely outstanding!! Food was great! Ambiance was perfect, especially with the rotation of the restaurant. Views were amazing. Wait staff and manager personally greeted us and made us feel very welcomed! Best birthday gift ever!!! Menu was pricey but definitely worth it!! This place rocks!! If I could give it a 10 star, I certainly would have!!
This was our first time at The View and I have to say we were not very impressed. The receptionist we first encounter was abrupt and sent us to another receptionist downstairs. The next receptionist acted like she was doing us a favor, and wanted to know if we had reservations. We did, but she still made us wait even though the restaurant was rather empty. We were also not aware that there was a fixed menu with fixed pricing. We felt the meal was way overpriced. The redeeming factor to this dinner was the gracious and very polite waiter and the excellent food. We also enjoyed the rotating view and the quiet atmosphere. This will definitely be a one time visit.
This restaurant really is all about the View. The rotating floor is awesome and makes for great viewing of the city especially at night. Food is just ok for a Prix Fixe but the service is excellent! They were nice enough to switch out orders we ended up not liking. Overall enjoyable experience but if you are looking for exceptional food for the price look elsewhere. You pay for the experience here. Note that if you sit upstairs in the lounge area you can order Buffet or a la cart and still have a view but its louder and not as nice up there.
This restaurant is absolutely awesome! Even to a native New Yorker like myself!! My Beau made surprise reservations for Valentines Day Dinner and it was everything!! And right before dessert... he professed he loves me! With our citys view, and twinkling lights in background ...it was just beautiful and so memorable ❤️🥂 Love you too my Handsome CK
The restaurant was a great experience! I went with my dad and brother at 6:30 on a Sunday night and it wasn’t that busy. I was able to have conversation without yelling. The view of the skyline was really nice/partially obstructed. The food options for the buffet were limited but nevertheless very tasty. The desserts were the best part! The pricing was 45$ for a buffet so not too bad for a fancy date option.
It’s a good place to have a drink but the views is not as amazing as other revolving restaurants I have been to. However, this place continue to be my favorite place to have a drink and talk about. For one reason, I have a great fascination of revolving restaurants! I have been to quite a few in the United States and other countries as well. I truly enjoy the feelingof seeing different views of New York skyline. If you wonder what you’re looking at, no need to ask the staff. They have it printed on their paper napkin. I must say, visiting The View for drinks and dinner pleases me all the time. The food selections for their buffet is awesome! Great selections of cheeses and other appetizers. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it-considering you will be treated by the staff and with the magnificent view of New York City. Drinks are stiff so be ready! If you happen to be in Times Square area and wanna have a peaceful and romantic experience, this place is a place to go. Happy eating...safe travels, and be well.♥️
The service was great and our food was impressive. The crab cake appetizer was delicious. The desser menu was amazing. It was hard to make our choices. I cant wait to explore the other part from the menu. We had amazing time and we would be back soon. I want to thank our concierge for recommending us this place. It was amazing.
After reading some of the mixed reviews we were a little anxious as we were celebrating our wedding earlier in the day. We shouldn’t have been worried- the service was very good , with staff friendly and attentive. It was more money than what we normally spend but definitely worth it. The food was good and the changing views were amazing. We checked sunset times do we watched the daytime sky change to night time.
I went to the view for my birthday and I had an amazing experience. The views were quite spectacular from almost all angles. The food was very delicious and was presented beautifully. Tracie and Tom were both very attentive and polite servers and they wished me a happy birthday without me even having to tell them. (Im assuming they found out from the maitre d who saw it on my reservation) I definitely had a great experience here and would come back again for a special occasion.
The view is absolutely worth it. There is a $8 cover charge they apply per person after 8pm but worth it regardless. Drinks are a little pricey but were tasty. We didnt try the buffet, but what we saw looked alright. The view really is incredible, it rotates 360 degrees once an hour and you get to see so much of the city.
The View. That’s the only thing that this restaurant is good for. Poor service until the second server came to the rescue. The food was not even remotely close to the restaurants ambiance. One star earned because of the ACTUAL view was amazing and the service after the initial service. 0 stars before the second server who made the dining experience a little better. Your money would be better spent on a vending machine and a million other amazing things in New York City.
I went to New York during New Years eve and me and my boyfriend heard from locals to try this place. It was literally the worst and most overly priced buffet I have ever experienced. The desert was acceptable but the main food was horrific. It seemed almost like health food there was Quinoa in one of the dishes and Id never had it before, and I never will again. I think I even had to pay for water, literally every other restaurant in New York we went to was better. I highly dont recommend this place. Unless your going for just the view which is the only stunning thing about this restaurant and Im pretty sure we had to buy something just to be in the restaurant.
What a unique and exciting place to visit! The spectacular views of New York changed constantly as we enjoyed our meal. The food was superb and the staff was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and fun! All five of us enjoyed a variety of appetizers and entrees from raviolis, crab cakes, fig salads to salmon, steak, and chicken. The desserts, like berries and meringue, cheesecake, raspberry rhubarb, and a selection of delectable chocolate desserts were heavenly! Each dish in every course was perfect, both in taste and presentation. I was surprised and pleased when a birthday dessert was brought out to me! The perfect ending to a perfect meal!!!
With the amount of places to choose to enjoy dinner in NYC, we chose The View, and we are very happy that we did. From check-in in the lobby, to picking up our coats at coat-check upon leaving, we were pleased with the experience. While we did not leave hungry, we certainly werent stuffed either. Portions are on the smaller side, but are made up for in flavor and taste. Our server was fantastic, and even sang Happy Birthday to me......with a chefs complimentary pastry.
Where should I start? Last night was my second time here to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and It blew my mind once again. Food was exquisite, service was impeccable. Stephanie and Eric made our experience and my mom’s birthday dinner memorable. They went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and to make sure we recorded my mother blowing out her candle. All five of us were extremely satisfied with our dinners, drinks, service, View of course, and overall experience. I do recommend the Brussel sprouts chestnuts and bacon as a side, simply fresh and The top view drink.
The novelty of slowly seeing 360° around Manhattan might not be to everybodys taste but I think its worth the hype.Very slick service. Very professional, yet informal.Excellent wine. Great cocktails.Food was top rate. We had surf & turf and lamb. Cooked perfectly.Pricey but a memorable treat.
Very nice view and very nice crab cakes but the chicken was tasteless. The room rotates but its not very noticeable unless you stare out the window. One thing I did not like was the fact that its complicted to get there from the lobby... you have to go up the escalator then turn right until you see some elevators and only one elevator takes you there... if I remember the G Elevator but not quite sure..... and if you have a reservation, you cannot be seated until everyone is there I was told...
Fantastic food, service, and yes, 360 views! Not all tables are by the window so be sure to ask for one if youre here for the views. Prices are (unsurprisingly) $$$$ - expect to pay upwards of $120 per person. Everyone gets a set meal (appetizer, main, and dessert) so ordering is pretty straightforward. The pace of rotation is just right so we didnt feel dizzy at all. There are no ridiculously strict dress codes, unlike in similar restaurants. However, since most people come here for special occasions, youd feel more comfortable dressing a little nicer than usual.
Theres a reason why the call it the View. The revolving restaurant gives you an amazing view of the city, especially at night when the city comes alive. The buffet was amazing! The appetizers, salads, entrees and especially the desserts are delish. The chocolate fountain and the many different fruits is a great touch.
The only reason to go here is for the view, not the food. And the view is fine, not great. Mostly you are just looking at the sides of office buildings. I got two of the quick bite platters and they used lowest quality ingredients such as olives, cheese, hummus, etc. My partner, despite being hungry, didnt even bother eating.
Meal (lamb shank) was outstanding with all courses very enjoyable. With the service throughout prompt and well timed.Restaurant is a little dated and could do with a gloss over but the bar isnt so dated from memory.Views across Manhattan are good without being spectacular as your gaze isnt without interruption due to building itself. That makes it sound bad, which it is not, just not spectacular.Price is not cheap but that is to be expected due to location, quality of food and experience.Glad to have eaten there and would go again as ultimately the food was mouthwatering.
Fantastic place with a great view and the food was incredible. When you arrive you get out the lift on the top of two floors onto the buffet area. Despite telling staff we had a meal reservation, we was seated and ordered drinks. It wasnt till a few minutes later when my wife went to the restroom we realised our reservation was on the lower of the two floors in the restaurant rather than the upper level buffet diner. Once in the correct spot, the food and service was faultless.
Very nice view as it should be to live up to the name. This is a price fix restaurant for three courses. Shareable sides are extra. My wife and I had different salads, mine was heirloom tomato caprices with what i believe was very fresh mozzarella, it was delicious. We both got the lamb chops, I asked for med. rare but they were done just a little bit past that point but very tasty. The restaurant takes 1 hour to make a full 360 degree spin. Be sure to get a copy of the drink napkin with the names of the buildings you will see while eating (the wait staff will help you figure out were they are). Service is very good and there is no rush to turn the table over we did at least to full spins. This is were I think Google should increase the rating system to 1 thru 10. To me this place is better than a 4 but not a quite a 5 (I am hard pressed on this system to give 5s) on a 1 to 10 this would be a 8.5
There are no words to explain how wonderful this restaurant is. This restaurant is primarily famous for its rotation. This restaurant is known as the rotating restaurant. It takes an hour and a half to complete the rotation. We went to the buffet section and there were variety of items to select from. I tried bits of every item available and all the food that I tried were simply amazing. The most I liked was the desserts that were available. The chocolate desserts were simply yum 😋
Came for restaurant week and it was a good deal. Stayed for two revolutions (2 hours). The food was surprisingly good and the staff were quite nice. There is a revolving bar and lounge one flight up too. The ride up in the glass elevators through the Marriott lobby is a real 1980s throwback.
The restaurant is an experience in itself. first to arrive, being shot through 45 floors in a high speed glass elevator, and then arriving in this 360 panorama restaurant on time square which turns on itself while you are dinning. Absolutely great !When it comes to the dinner itself, we ate well, however it was nothing to have life time memories about. the dishes had no creativity in the way to dress them. The food tasted good, but were very simple in their preparation and had no complexity in mouth. As the price range is high, you know what you are paying for: the view rather than an exceptional meal.
If you are planning to go to this restaurant for a dinner, you will be disappointed by the food plus get ready to take a hit on your wallet. You are paying $100 per person for dinner, FIXED price for an appetizer, meal and dessert. Food was below par. Basically you are paying for the view. Also, menu says 18% gratuity only for part of 6. However, they charged me 18% gratuity even for a party of 2.The views are however stunning. Plus the its a revolving floor. So great views, below average food, service was OK and atmosphere was good. Not going back again.
This is a spinning restaurant with an amazing view of New York City at the top of a hotel in Times Square. They have a full buffet that wasnt that great compared to all the other good food the city has to offer, but the view makes up for it. The restaurant slowly spins, and before you realize youve been moving, your view of the city is different. Its really dark and intimate, and it gives you some really cool photo opportunities. It was kind of confusing to find our way up to the restaurant. We were guests of the hotel. Maybe there just wasnt as much staff around at the time. But it should be a bit clearer for those trying to get to The View.
A fun way to enjoy views of the city & the buffet was excellent value for the price ($40 for both dinner & dessert). Lots of unique salads, a few hearty food options (the beef bourguignon was the best), nice quality cheeses and the chocolate fountain was the highlight! Service was great and nice drink selections too. The view makes for good conversation and we finished the 1-hour full rotation just as we were finished eating so timing was perfect. Worth a stop for a relaxing evening for sure.
Went on a sunny day. Restaurant has great view and ambiance! Takes about an hour for one rotation. Brunch food is just decent though, nothing incredible. Theres hot, cold, and dessert sections. Service is professional and they brought out a small birthday cheesecake upon request.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday in NYC. After a Broadway show, we enjoyed cocktails at The View Lounge. Stunning views at night. We were very pleased with their signature drinks, a Top of the View, also enjoyed some of the largest Shrimp Cocktail we’ve ever had. Attentive service. We highly recommend the Sunday Brunch. We start with Mimosas.....fresh squeezed OJ, then enjoyed 5 courses of whatever we wanted. The stations of breads, fruits, pastries, cold salads, warm salads, appetizers, veggies, fruits, carving stations, breakfast (everything you could possibly think of) and a Chocolate Fountain made it a very special Birthday celebration for my husband. Our waiter even brought a special dessert that said Happy Birthday + a lit candle & we sang happy birthday to him.We highly recommend the Marriott Marquis Times Square. In fact, we just confirmed our reservations for our next NYC visit with this Marriott Marquis. ✨✨✨✨✨
I have always loved the view and have been there for drinks but I went during restaurant week this time and had dinner (special menu for Restuarant week). The portions were small and was just okay. However, I had the crab cake for an appetizer (which was not on the special menu) and that was fabulous. Also, the dessert was great as well.
The restaurant has a fixed menu consisting of appetizer, mains and a dessert. They also have vegan and gluten free dishes. I had Chilled Maine Lobster for starter and it was okay. My Fillet Mignon was cooked to my liking - medium. Tasty and meat tender. Better to book in advance to secure a choice table. Service was okay but overly familiar, probably it’s their thing so no issue. Overall a good dining experience
The view.is breathtaking as expected, and it is worth the wait for a table by the window. We had an incredible dining experience. This missing star is because the people sitting near me were EXTREMELY obnoxious and not once were they told to respect others dining experience but I guess they were also paying for their experience???Loved it, food was incredible, service was good, the view .. SPECTACULAR.
For its namesake The View has amazing views of the NYC skyline. You wont miss any sites with their rotating restaurant and lounge. They have a good variety of choices on their prix fixe menu. The food and service was excellent. A bit pricey but will worth it to celebrate a special occasion.
The food was great. One of the best steak I ve ever had. Deserts are not great but the view and the whole moving experience worth the booking. Quite expensive but we loved the food. Double check the prices in the wine menu-they charged me for what it was in the menu. The lounge floor upstairs of the restaurant was busy and the view was quieter.
The staff are super lovely and amazing one of the best experiences ever. I highly advise to make a reservation during open table to not wait a lot of time for a table. They do give you an option to wait for a table for a good view we waited 30 mins while having a cocktail in the lough. I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely on my top list.
Had good and bad, I would generally have rated this 3 star but the price of the meal was high enough that I expected better. Wine I ordered was bad, shouldn’t have a bad bottle of wine on the menu at a place like this. The pate was too oily, and tasted old. The potato cake with my main tasted as if it was frozen then reheated. The good was the meat which was perfectly cooked, the veggies were also good and the view was incredible. I wouldn’t eat here again for this price, but I would go to get a drink at the bar!
While the view was somewhat nice the food absolutely sucked. No originality and the steak was broiled, and while there is nothing wrong with that it didnt taste good at all. The bread was cold! Which is a sign of a terrible meal. The desserts were mostly ice creams which isnt suitable for all customers. The food was bland and basic and not worth the pre set price of 80$. The view is also not very good because there are times when you are in a corner and can not see. Will never go again. Service is also not good. Wont be catching these 80$!
My family and I really enjoyed our time at the View. It is a beautiful restaurant and a unique experience. We did not realize the menu was a 3 course meal, my grandma was only wanting a bowl of soup because she cannot eat much. And thankfully the restaurant understood and let her share with her husband without charge, as that did not seem like it was policy. We greatly appreciated it. I have attached a 360 time lapse video from our table. It was an Extrodinare view.
The view is nice and the waiters were excellent. They were personable and very nice. But the food was too expensive compared with what you get. Paying 360 dollars (two ppl and a 60 dollar bottle of so so wine) didnt cut it regarding the flavours and presentation of the food. When you pay this much the food is supposed to be excellent and it wasnt - it was average. Also, the restaurant is a little bit out of date, like the glory days are over.
Great food, great service, and the rotating view is really cool! I proposed to my girlfriend and everything was awesome. The waiter brought us complimentary champagne immediately after, took pictures for us, and we never felt rushed to leave, even though we were there for 3 hours. We will definitely be going back in the future!
I went during dinner and the food is super overpriced. $40 full buffet per person OR $20 cheese and dessert buffet. When going up to the full buffet, the food was cold and more than half was missing. The desserts were were almost empty and their biggest pull- a chocolate fountain- was running very low on food as well. The service was incredibly slow which is disappointing considering all the waitresses do is bring drinks and your check. The view was pretty cool, but Id never do it again. Not worth the $120 we spent on dinner.
The view itself is very good and the food really was lovely. Unfortunately what let it down for us was the staff, firstly the space is difficult to find and no one seems to want to help from the downstairs car parking attendant to the lobby receptionist. We had to ask multiple times for someone to serve our drinks, we had to pour our own wine, we had approximately 2 minutes to spare between every course and they forgot to bring my mums birthday cake out . Not what you expect when you are paying that much. Wouldnt go again and wouldnt reccomend, although food was lovely.
Cocktails were expensive but good. The $8 cover charge per person just to be up there was a bit rich considering we were buying food and drinks. So for a couple if you want two cocktails its going to cost you $56 straight up not including your tip which is 15% so almost $64 than buying food took it to another level.Besides that we found the waitresses nice and the view was lovely.
In my opinion this is one of must visit places if you enjoy rooftop bars. I have never tried the food here but they looked pretty good (though fairly pricy). The place rotates slowly so you can catch the 360° view around ~30 minutes. Would definitely recommend for events and anniversaries with a small group
Was looking forward to coming in today to celebrate my birthday, had made reservations a while back, but unfortunately I received a call that our reservation was cancelled due to the recent pandemic outbreak. I saw it coming nonetheless, since it was a large risk and had thought I could enjoy a nice dinner during this scary and sad time. I appreciate the professionalism approach they took, and will be looking forward to dining in the future as I have yet to be there. Best of Luck and see you soon!
My Girlfriend took me out to this place on my birthday and I loved it.The view was astonishing, as expected. The food was delicious to say the least, best crab cake Ive ever had. The dessert was, as stated in the menu lol, to day for. Great service as well. So all in all the place was kinda pricey but worth the money on special occasions.
We just visited today to celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary and couldn’t have been more impressed! The food selection was unbelievable and everything was so fresh and delicious. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere and view were beautiful (despite the rain). We had an amazing time and recommend it for any special occasion!
It was an amazing restaurant and an amazing experience. The view! I would recommend doing dinner around 7 30 pm as you get to see the sunset while having a sumptuous meal. The food is amazing! But what was very important to me as well was the service. The service is probably the best you will ever receive in New York...in fact...the world! The staff are soooo nice! I would do this restaurant every single day of my life.
Woww. Ive been here twice and Ive never left disappointed. The view in and of itself is worth the pricier cost of the meal- I sat there starry eyed while we saw a large view of New York City. Very romantic! The multi-course meal was so wonderful- Watermelon and feta salad was fun and fresh. Our servers were lovely, I really wish I could remember their names so I could mention them in my post. Wonderful food, gorgeous atmosphere- I wholeheartedly recommend this unique place.
The place is overrated. The staff was attentive which is why I gave this place 2 stars. However, not all tables give you a clear view of the city. Drinks were strong ( but not in a good way ) $16 for rubbing alcohol and juice? Not satisfying. Not to mention the food (yawn) which was decent but not worth $112 a plate! What! In the end we paid $300 for just two people. Not worth it. Go to red lobster. Or even better, stay home and save your money.
Simply off the glass elevator ride up towards the lounge you get the sense of sophistication. The view as you wine and dine at this spot is absolutely incredible. Was treated to a slowly rotating 360 degree panoramic visual of beautiful New York City. Food choice was exquisite enough to try a bit of everything. Cheese variety and plenty of wine passionately made love to my taste buds. Staff behaved professionally throughout our night. What a wonderful experience!
The restaurant has a fabulous location and the unique advantage of being a revolving restaurant in the middle of Times Square! Great views over the river and the Manhattan skyline. Had the buffet one evening - which was quite decent - but could be better! The place needs to up the lux-quotient for the opportunity that it is. All in all a good experience!
Beautiful views. Delicious food. The rotating view was a really unique dining experience. Waiters and all other staff were friendly and professional. Elegant table settings. Perfect for celebrating my birthday/anniversary month. Fairly priced for upscale dining. Absolutely loved it.
Great enjoyed very much. Get the all you can eat Buffett. If soft drinks and coffee were included and self serve would be much much better because you have to count on you server for that and its very very slow. Servers seem to be great but to few of them. Let them bring all alcohol and other duties and let us do the rest. Would be much better in general for the public and there ratings would go up do to better service and better deal. I walked around for about 1hr talking to all customers maybe 20 different tables and many people at buffet lines and all wanted better and faster table service. Food was fine but not great and no fruit pies no soup no rice etc. Most people said its good for a 1 time try only.

2021-07-22The View Restaurant is located on the top floor of the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. When I stayed at that hotel, I had dinner there. This is a revolving restaurant on the 48th floor. As the name suggests: while tasting foods, you can overlook the night view of Manhattan in 360 degrees. The restaurant offered a fixed menu with 3 courses of meal. The food and the service are fine, not great. But the desert of New York Cheesecake is the best cheesecake I ever had.I do not think you need make a special trip to eat there. If you stay in that hotel, it’s ok to try there. But don’t expect too much.

2021-11-16One of the best brunch Ive ever been to! The food was very good, the omelet was freshly made and had many filling options, several options of sweet and savory and my favorite was the smoked salmon! Our waiter was very friendly and the amazing view of NYC was to make everything even better! We were on our honeymoon and our waiter gave us a mini congratulation cake! ❤️Everything was divine! We will definitely be back when we went to NY again!

2017-03-31Interesting concept. The room rotates 360 as you dine in. Menu is prix fixe during out visit. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and rainy during our visit. What luck. Food was good, but did not live up to the price tag. Service was definitely top notch. My family had a great time. Fortunately, the sky cleared up on the way home, and we caught the sunset. Will revisit again, but next time, probably just the buffet.

2020-02-15Go for the view stay for the food. the lobster mac and cheese was my favorite thing to eat alongside the strawberry cheesecake dessert. If you get a chance to go during sunset the view is amazing. a nice way to be in times square without all the noise pollution as youre above it all. have a cocktail and then take it all in as the restaurant slowly revolves So that you may get a 360 view of the city

2020-02-20To celebrate my birthday in a quiet cozy place, my choice fell on this restaurant. The luxurious interior, a varied menu and excellent service left a vivid impression and a desire to return again! The romantic dinner ended with serving dessert on the house, i was very pleased for the attention. I will definitely return to this wonderful place!

2019-09-18The ambience was beautiful, the service was great, but unfortunately the food was not impressive. The crab cake appetizer was delicious. For dinner, I had the surf and turf. I ordered my filet mignon medium well, and it was quite dry. My side of veggies was very salty. The dessert menu was also unimpressive. Our server, Rand, was honest and attentive. I would return for the ambience, the experience, and the service, but I would explore other food options on the menu. The set price dinner was about $100. It included the appetizers, dinner, and dessert. The surf and turf was $23 more if you chose it as your dinner.

2020-01-28360 views of The City That Never Sleeps. All while enjoying an amazing buffet. We all were pleased but be aware of the Service Charge on the bill...I missed it the 1st night and double tipped our waitress. It would have been nice if she told me. Other than that, we all ate well and came back the next night to dine with friends.

2020-01-19Restaurant deserves 10 stars. Absolutely amazing. The restaurant rotates so you have a complete 360 view of the city. The crabcakes is a must have and the lamb chops medium well is to die for.the strawberry dessert to end the meal is amazing. Its definitely worth the money.

2018-09-05The View is exactly what you get when coming to this establishment. Service was less than stellar. The food arrived at a snails pace. The waiter was fair and I think he forgot we were in his section. The taste of the food was mediocre and I was not enthused like I had imagined. The serving size was too much. I had left overs and left them there because the food was okay. I left the dessert I ordered with the fruit because it didn’t taste sweet. It was sour. The presentation was perfect. It was sad that I couldn’t eat it when it looked so appetizing. The birthday dessert was tasty. The check also had to be separated out by my friend at the table which was tedious. The server made no attempt to divide our bills up.
