Pros1 star for staff are friendly1 star for unlimited and fast coffee service And food comes fast out of the kitchenconsMinus 1 star - no as tasty as people reviewed this place and the food is average or even lower than that.Minus a star - the waiting is ridiculous 30+ minutes.Minus a star - the place is small. My personal opinion is just try somewhere else I think it’s overrated and who could possibly make a steak without a taste ? Well this one of those places. This place will make ihop feel like high end restaurant.
We just got their special of the week breakfast - salmon asparagus egg Benedict and stuffed French toast chocolate cannoli. It’s absolutely delicious. We had their breakfast several times and no complain at all. Must go to place when it comes to breakfast. Staffs are wonderful and attentive and friendly.
Went for Sunday brunch after hearing some rave reviews about this place I had driven past probably about a million times before stopping in. Let me tell you, those reviews are right. And thats no bias based on the name! This place may just look like a generic diner, but it delivers a whole lot more than that. I got the mixed berry stuffed pancakes and cornbeef hash on the side, with a taste of the chorizo sausage egg melt sandwich from my date, and all of it was delicious and so much tastier than your run of the mill diner. Ive also tried their homemade granola and yogurt, which even something as simple as that was excellent! We went around 11 and had a 20 minute wait, but its well worth it. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Parking is a little nuts and I highly recommend just parking on the side streets and walking a little. I would love to try everything on the menu ASAP.
Came here for the first time since June 2017 and many times before that it has not changed one bit, service is outstanding staff very friendly , coffee always served nice and hot for my Dad , just a overall pleasant experience every time . I had ordered today their Egg Sandwich Melt special with Applewood Bacon and tomato with a side of home fries. Bacon was crispy and the runny egg was just really good. Overall an excellent spot for breakfast or lunch, haven’t tried going for dinner yet but sure would be superb as well. Definitely a must try if you’re in Nassau County.
My favorite place for breakfast! I always order the Spanish Omelette with a Croissant French Toast on the side. Food portions are a good size. Warning, this food will put u to sleep :) Staff/owner are friendly. They make u feel like family! Please visit and enjoy some good food a amazing company!
Anyone who doesn’t give Thomas’s 5 stars, must be a Thomas’s newbie, and must have no idea how Thomas’s works, because Thomas’ is the BEST breakfast spot on Long Island.A breakfast at Thomas’s goes like this. You walk in (try to keep your party 2-4 people it’s best for small groups), you go into the little waiting box and put your name in. They are phenomenal at recognizing familiar faces and even though the wait is usually 30-40 min it usually drops to 10 minutes sooner. You can expect unlimited hot coffee from the sweetest coffee pourers on the earth, particularly Jose who always asks me how my family is doing with the sweetest smile in the world. He makes sure that my coffee cup stays filled for the entirety of my breakfast. Next, you go to Thomas’s for breakfast food, not for lunch. Their breakfast food is what makes them so phenomenal. Their eggs are always fresh and they serve their breakfast platters on skillets so the presentation is always delicious and outstanding. My favorite is 2 eggs over easy, with bacon, toast, and hash browns with a side of strawberries. It’s absolutely scrumptious, warm, soothing, and comfort-y in the best way possible. They also have THE BEST warmed sour cream coffee cake in the universe. My cells dance and sing when I have their coffee cake. Thomas’s somehow always has room for everyone and never rushes people out either. They are magical in that way. Staff is amazing always. I love Thomas’s SO much!!! Been here a hundred times and will be back for more!If you liked this review, feel free to check us out on Instagram for more Long Island adventures @andiamoadventure
Basically a perfect old fashioned diner, with exceptionally good and affordable food and great service with a lot of personality. They make homemade muffins there and it was the best muffin me and my fiance had ever tasted in our lives. We bought four more for home. Its a popular place so there was a bit of a wait (about 10-15 minutes.) However the guy in charge was sympathetic and kept giving us updates, which I really appreciated, as opposed to just going in the diner and never speaking to us at all. Great place!
The place was almost at capacity upon arrival. The waitress was friendly, but not as attentive due to the amount of tables in her section. The pumpkin cheesecake french toast was delicious and filling. However, the corned beef hash and home fries were bland and disappointing. Both plates were generous portions, so there were leftovers. My husband and I liked the variety of the menu, but, unfortunately, the execution of the food was just sub par. We probably would not frequent this place again.
Don’t be taken aback by the size of the diner, because they are very welcoming and kind to you! The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The food makes you feel so at home, away from home. The staff are gentle and kind. I’ve never had a better breakfast than here! I had the eggs Benedict with chicken sausage on an English muffin and it exceeded my standards. We got to sit on the barstools because of the business, but I had a wonderful experience. 10/10 would come back next week!
I came here for their great breakfast for years. Tried the ham steak, choc chip pancakes, frittatas, omelets dinner. I love eating out of a skillet. I had their veal chop w a nice salad. It was close to closing time. The food was fresh. The service was very friendly, the portions large, the menu very varied, the kitchen looked spotless. I left very satisfied.
Arrived around 8:30 on a Thursday morning. Parking was a little tight but we managed to find a spot. Inside, we were seated immediately. Our service was quick and friendly. The menu is huge but I settled on the eggs Benedict. It was super delicious! The home fries were just ok. They seemed dry.Overall solid diner. Would come back?
Great find passing through the area! The diner had a classic, homey ambiance with friendly, highly attentive staff. I NEVER saw the bottom of my coffee cup! The food well exceeded our expectations for a quick diner breakfast. My boyfriend and I shared an omelette and strawberry croissant french toast. It was a good amount of food, came out fast and tasted fresh with rich flavors. I’d probably frequent it if I lived closer by:)
I came here after an overnight shift yesterday morning from work in Brooklyn. It was worth the trip. Service was thoughtful and attentive, food was delicious and perfectly made. The place was bustling and happy and the coffee was hot. Ordered 2 specials. Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Breakfast Strata. These pancakes could possibly be the best pancakes Ive ever had. The Strata had spinach, prosciutto, eggs, and onion. 10/10. Very affordable and reasonable prices. Each portion is large and you will have more than enough
This diner is usually so packed. On the weekends, I know that it can be up to an hour wait so I decided to come by on a Friday, early afternoon. All of the staff are super nice and so friendly! They give a homey vibe and are patient despite the crowd. My friend and decided on a wrap and Popeye scrambled eggs. Both of which the entrees were enormous despite being so reasonably priced. We split a mixed berry French toast just to satisfy our sweet tooth. Overall I see why this place is sometimes tough to get into! But it’s worth it
The is no substitute for experience! These guys have tried to be the best local eatery for decades; it works and it shows! My grown children come back here with memories and favorites from their childhoods and are never sorry! Best breakfast around, with standards complimented by interesting new ideas (try the Irish breakfast!), full lunch and early dinner menu, (my favorite yankee bean stew!) Family owned, locally staffed; a throwback to when quality and service meant everything. You must try!
Came here for a father/son breakfast before he returns home. Very disappointed with the food even though I did hear good things about this place. I ordered a simple eggs, bacon, fries and toast breakfast. My son had the same. I ordered 2 eggs over easy and specifically asked for my bacon and fries to be not well done. The eggs were done exactly as I asked, but I wish I could say the same for the rest of my food. The fries were way overcooked and I couldnt eat them. The bacon was also over cooked and I couldnt eat that as well. My son asked for scrambled with cheese and the eggs were served without cheese. He had to send them back. His home fries were not edible because they didnt taste fresh. Lastly, because the place was busy we wound up eating at the counter so as to not wait 30 minutes for a table. Big mistake, I was uncomfortable and would do that again. There was barely any room for my skillet, plate of toast and coffee mug. I was also seated directly in front of an open display of peach cobbler muffins. I am sure the uncovered muffins violate some health code and especially during the covid crisis. All in all I am not impressed with this place. I am a local and I wouldnt recommend this place.
Very nice diner. Has all the usual trimmings of. A diner - chrome , vinyl booths etc But somehow the place felt homely. Service was really good. Food was served piping hot. Went with my daughter for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. It was packed. Really had a great time. Will visit again.
I have always been a fan of Thomas Ham & Eggery Diner. I decided to place a takeout order today for eggs benedict. I opened my breakfast when I arrived at work and could smell something burnt. A $14.05 breakfast should not be so poorly prepared. The photo shows the underside of the English muffin. I was not going to drive all the way back to replace my order. Instead, I will now be dining elsewhere.
Sat at the bar and had a great experience. Its a small place so it tends to get packed pretty fast. Its a nice atmosphere though. The food was good. I ordered the steak and eggs with home fries. Asked for medium rare but got it well done so that was a little disappointing.
I have been eating at Thomas s Ham & Eggery for years..It is best diner ever..The coffee is off the chain..the food exceptional..The staff gracious.. I cannot say enough about their pies..Yesterday i had the bread pudding..OMG soooo good . My only regret was not bringing more home...Just absolutely love this place!
Our visit was on a Sunday Morning at 8. There was no line to get in and we were seated immediately.COVID STANDARDS; Considering this classic styled dinner, everyone was in separate seated booths that had a plastic divider naturally. All staff were properly wearing masks, gloves and cleaning in a fashionable manner. The food was good. The price is definitely worth the large portion. The service was beyond exceptional. I have no words for how amazing the staff was! I would 1000% go back just to interact with the staff. Everyone was very kind and friendly. They were very homely and endearing.
While on a quick weekend getaway we ate breakfast here twice and I wish this place existed where we live. Fresh homemade corned beef hash and eggs so good that I never even thought of adding ketchup...and an omelette of bacon, gorgonzola cheese, potatoes and green pepper had a great taste. My family enjoyed authentic grits, a cobb salad with piping hot chicken, etc. Staff very friendly, Manager/Owner let us sit at our table without pressure to leave when we were done. Overall very good experience!
So happy they are back open again!!! Love the old timey feel of this place and love the sweet attentive service here too. Food is delicious and love that they have a few famous dishes and desserts. Chili was a bit on the sweet side but still very good and you must get their house made sour cream coffee cake! And buy one to take with you too. Their pot roast was tender and reminded me of my childhood when I wild go to diners and order this dish. The potato pancakes that came with the dish were perfectly seasoned. I had asked for super duper well done French fries and I loved how my waitress just got me when I heard her say make them well done, close to burnt... She totally gets me.Who be back for more and more and more!
This place is always busy and it’s because the food is great and so is the service!!!!! Food is really tasty and we enjoy coming here often. Parking is limited but you can park on the side roads too. Make sure you get there early on weekends as you will have to wait 20th a plus.
Service is good but food is underrated. Burger and fries taste and look frozen, would not get it again. Have had the hash and eggs and its bland as many have mentioned. Homefries come stacked but lack flavor and is basically plain potatoes. My gf loves the eggs benedict, I did enjoy it the time I got one as a special but they said they couldnt make it as its no longer a special.
Me and my brother went here for breakfast with his son. The diner is a little small and it’s a bit of a wait to get sat down during breakfast hours. Skillet swag. The food came out extremely quickly. Customer Service was Fast and quick and made up for the wait in the lobby. Everything on the menu is good. Worth the wait. Cash Only.
Delicious food. Their Piña Colada french toast was delicious, the corned beef hash is highly recommended, but the scrambled eggs a little overdone, but the food came out really fast. The coffee is not too shabby for a diner albeit a bit watered down, but this is expected. They do have some parking (although a tight squeeze). They do accept credit.
Had a great breakfast here. The pancakes were awesome. The 1 egg breakfast was very large and a great value. The service was very good as well. Your coffee cup is always full! The food came incredibly fast. We were all very please with our meal. Parking is an issue as the lot is very small.
The food is amazing at this restaurant. It is fresh and so delicious. 😋The place gets full quickly. However it’s worth the wait. The staff is so nice.Shout out to Rosemary. She is the absolute BEST waitress. 🤩🤩🤩The guy that welcomes you in this restaurant is very friendly as well. 🤩🤩 So, if you are in this area and you are looking for a good place to eat.....look no further, Thomas’s is the place to be. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.A million stars ⭐️ ⭐️
Start: this is a true greasy spoon diner, the bus water boy wiped the table in front of me with a clearly dirty rag. I put my papers down went to banyo got paper towels, hot water soap and tried to inconspicuousy wipe the table. After that everything was fine.Veg egg wrap and home fries. It looked so good someone came up to me and asked what it was. It was exactly what I wanted. Mix veg in omelets. Wrap is thin.I can see they try not to upset you give you exactly what you want.Juke box boomer music without paying, every song is a jewel.Had a nice time.People are quiet and respectful.Good experience.
4.5 stars! Only reason is it’s cash only 😅 Sometimes carrying cash isn’t fun, and atm fees are lame. However, this place is amazing even when it’s busy! They’re super welcoming and friendly. It’s definitely a neighborhood favorite and the staff makes everyone feel welcome. They know their regulars and it shows. The place is clean and comfy. Booths have nice little hooks to hang your coats. Tons of yummy options here. Their Corn-beef hash and eggs are amazing! Loads of home fries also given, and plenty of hash. My fiancée loves it. We’ve been here 4 times in the last month. The CHILI HERE IS AMAZING!!! I personally don’t know if it’s not advertised enough but man! I definitely recommend everyone trying it. It’s a lovely diner vibe and the price is great. You’re never looking for your waiter/server. They keep on coming and the coffee keeps flowing. There’s a parking lot; not very big but it’s great.
Whenever we drove this place was always packed so today we finally made a point of going early. It was still packed and there was about four people ahead of us plus more that kept coming behind us. The guy who greeted us was excellent. I dont know how he did it but he remembered everyone and the order they came in without taking down anyones names. We were seated in ten minutes. All of the staff were great and kept checking on us but we didnt feel rushed. We ordered eggs Benedict and pancakes. They were delicious and the prices werent bad. The only thing is that this place is cash only and parking is limited. We ended up parking around the block. They also have a kids menu which is nice. We are definitely coming back.
Very friendly and attentive staff plus absolutely seems like a go to spot in the neighborhood. Lucky enough to be here on the first day back with dining indoors and there was great attention being paid to cleanliness and sanitation standards. Prices were also what I would consider to be very fair and you get a very good sized portion of food.I went with the scramble in a skillet which was OK but not remarkable despite really wanting it to be great. Also their chorizo was more a cut up sausage instead of the ground version that I was hoping was going to be mixed in with the eggs.
Great food at great portions and fair prices. Diner was a bit congested. Parking lot too. However, food is on par. It was good quality off Old Country Rd. I would go back just for the variety of things like pot pie, waffles, etc. Definitely a good pic. Seating was a bit crowded. Seats were tight. Soeties, its pretty noisy. Service was attentive. Had a great time.
I have been going to Thomass for years, when I visit family in New York.Thomass has great breakfasts and serve their egg dishes in the pan they cook them in!I am usually a scrambled with bacon guy, but the Frittatas are exceptional.Parking may be difficult, as the neighborhood grew up around the business, and there may be a wait (it is a small place) but they have counter service and booths. Its a traditional diner/breakfast and lunch place. Handicapped access may be challenging when they are crowded, but doable. They dont take reservations, but do cycle through the crowd with fast service, hot food cooked to order, and friendly staff!Thomass only accepts cash, so figure accordingly (hit the ATM before you go).Thomass is open for breakfast and lunch, and worth the wait (if there is one).
Let me start by saying how sweet the staff is. From the gentleman who checks you in to the bus boys taking your coffee order, they were very friendly, accommodating and made us feel welcomed. As far as the food was concerned, it was okay. The scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy but the hash browns (home fries) were dry and tasteless. The potatoes were frayed and not greasy but there was something missing. The pancakes were nice, nothing special though but better than other places in Long Island. The proportions were good too.Oh and they dont serve fresh juice. They used boxed juices which is uncommon for zagat rated places.Overall we had a nice and friendly experience, but am I craving no their food? No.
True Long Island Experience.Usually I’m not a big fan of diners, too many things on the menu and not everything is done right. But not here, they have a smaller menu and they do the little things right.Like a perfect crunch in the home fries, an abundance of strawberries on the croissant French toast(big hit at the table), delicious corned beef hash and creamy eggs in the huevos rancheros.Everyone at our table polished off their plate. Also the servers here are very friendly with just enough sass that you don’t forget where you are.
Old school honest to Jah diner. The food was good and the price.was right. Service was very personable. This is the spot where the locals eat, some days the place is really packed. Family owned in the same spot since 1946. I also want to say this isnt a greasy spoon. Staff cleaned and wiped down the place all the time.
Cash only, but this is the best and most affordable breakfast restaurant on Long Island! I ordered the Raspberry Coconut French Toast off the special menu, and it was to die for. Coffee comes with it too. Even when it’s busy, the service is incredibly quick. Owners and staff are so lovely as well. Can’t wait to return!
If I could give Thomass 10 + Stars, I would. Their food is consistently ON POINT!! My favorite meal, thus far, is a *Special* called The Egg Sandwich Melt. It consists of grilled sourdough bread, 2 fried eggs, turkey bacon, avocado & swiss cheese. It was OUTSTANDING!!The 1st time I tried The Egg Sandwich Melt was a few days before Xmas 2021. I kid you not when I tell you after I ate it I had dreams about eating that sandwich again!! Unfortunately, Thomass was closed on Xmas and Santa didnt leave me one. There was a snowstorm the next day and during the storm, I put on my boots and trekked straight to Thomass! They did not disappoint. It was absolutely DELICIOUS!The GRILLED sourdough bread had a very nice twang & crunch to it. The 2 fried eggs, turkey bacon, avocado & swiss cheese were the PERFECT combo. Each complementing the other.Ive been back numerous times and I might add that the staff is ALWAYS attentive, gracious, and kind!! You MUST put this sandwich on your Bucket List.YES! Its THAT good!
Welp,Many years ago, it was a decent place.Just left there, and I cant say the same.First, Our waitress, spent more time talking idle chit chat to one customer, disregarding her other tables. When she took our breakfast order, my wife imeadoatly told me, the waitress is going to f[€¥ something up.. SHE DID.2 eggs over medium, french fries & bacon. The eggs were barly warm, more raw and runny. The French fries came out as home fries.I NEVER send food back & wait for a replacement.I ate the eggs and bacon and left the home fries.I paid the bill, and THEN told her. (not looking for a free meal). She copped an attitude, and told me she didnt hear me when I ordered...Then how did she know to bring eggs?Nope ---- not hoing back, and I dont recommend anyone goes there.
This is a pretty average place. Granted, I spent a few years in Rhode Island, which is the birthplace of the modern American diner. In summary, I wouldnt come back because its somewhat expensive for what it is and nothing particularly stood out (in a positive nor negative way). Also, I had a questionable interaction at the end of my visit.I visited rather early in the morning and was warmly greeted and promptly offered coffee. The decor struck me as very typical diner with plasticky/cracked fake leather seating on the booths. The air pleasantly did not have excessive grease smell, although I did visit around opening time.I ended up ordering the corned beef hash special. At $11 (+ $1.05 tax), I dont particularly think that this place is a one $ establishment. I liked that the potatoes arrived crispy. Your food also comes in its own little stainless steel sautée pan, for those germaphobes out there. Most diners Ive visited prepares their food on a shared griddle space, so this individual serving was a unique surprise. It also came with a coffee (bottomless) and two slices of toast. I asked for rye with butter on the side, but oddly, it tasted like white bread and buttery. I dont really care though. To its credit, this place undersalts its food. I truly love this because I am able to adjust my seasoning at the table, whereas at most diner establishments, the food is over-salted and I feel pretty lousy afterward because of the sodium overload.Something that rubbed me the wrong way was related to my being a racial minority woman(but born and raised in the USA, well-educated, and speaks fluent English without an accent). At the end of my meal, I asked for a line item on the hand-written tab to be clarified -- sorry, its hard to read certain peoples handwriting! It ended up being the tax, but instead of just saying Its the tax, the cashier/waitress lady said It is the tax. This is common everywhere in the United States. At that moment, it struck me that aside from the Mexican cooks in the back, I was the only minority in this establishment -- at least, at that hour of the day. I dont think she realized the micro-aggression but it certainly didnt make me want to return any time soon. Maybe Ill come back if a visitor really wants to eat at a diner, but I think I would rather serve breakfast from my home at that price point.
I usually avoid diners like the plague but this one being called an “eggery” meant my egg-obsessed self had to go in! Holy cow! It was fantastic! Menu was an appropriate length, place was spotless, service was friendly and quick, and THE FOOD 🥰 the skillets were fabulous— get the grits!!! Oh man, perfect texture and flavor and everything from the griddle was perfect. Look forward to returning!
Wow where to begin. We are visiting from Orlando FL and maaaaaan I wish we had diners like these in FL! Amazing FRESH FLAVORFUL MENU! We really liked the sausage links. The omelette is HUGE so prepare yourself. Truly bless the owners for understanding the feeling of a warm home like diner! Thank you!!
There was no social distancing that is what made the experience so nerve wracking people were on top if each other we were practically touching plates its super small I was very uncomfortable & paranoid kept putting my mask back on not to mention the food wasnt that great eggs & home fries were dry we ate really fast & left
In my second and final trip to this Long Island establishment, I had a memorable experience. I ordered French toast and a side of home fries. The food came out less then two minutes later. Wow, right? Until I took a deeper look.My first piece of French toast was fine albeit mediocre at best. The second piece was the real kicker. The interior was surprisingly crunchy. There were several pieces of egg shell in the French toast. Mix that with the fact that the home fried were absolutely disgusting. For some reason, they were served with pieces of egg and green peppers. Totally inedible.Likes its 70 year old peers, Thomas might need to retire.Add to that, the parking lot is narrow and impossible to get out of. Try somewhere like Toast if you want a good diner.
This roadside diner offers a classic eatery experience in cozy, close quarters. Both parking and seating are limited. But the service is prompt and the food is definitely good. A great spot for a breakfast or lunch meeting with a friend or colleague. Youll be glad you stopped by.
Grew up coming here, but have since taken on a more plant-based diet. Went over the weekend for a visit, and wish that theyd had at least a few items on the menu with people like me in mind.As usual, everyone who works there is super friendly. And you will definitely enjoy your food 👌🏽
My first time eating at this diner, and it surely will not be my last. Even though the line was out the door for breakfast, we were seated extremely fast! The owner/manager Alec was very pleasant as well as our waitress mariellen (I hope I got her name right) The food came out so fast and it was nice and hot. If you havent eaten here, please put it on your list. GREAT JOB THOMASS!
Hands down one of the best family owned diners in LI. You cant go wrong w/ anything on the menu. Owner Tommy and his staff are the nicest people youll ever meet. Up until recently it was cash only but on a recent visit I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they now accept CCs. So if youre ever shopping nearby at The Galleria go across the street and grab some delicious home cooked food. You can thank me later.
Had a really great experience here. I was randomly in Westbury and came across this restaurant. Once we got there we were told thered be a 10 min wait for a table. We waited no longer than 2 mins and was immediately seated. Service was wonderful. Everyone there was super attentive, which made for a very welcoming experience. I got the blueberry ricotta buttermilk pancakes. Which were absolutely MASSIVE. I would definitely go back here and would highly recommend it
Aug 2021, came back here because we dropped off a friend at the airport and we remembered how good the food was. So, my update over 6 years, is still the same, GREAT FOOD, and Service after all these years. This place will not disappoint you, no matter what you order. Go early, there is always a long wait out the door.
I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet considering I’m here all the time LOL! I come so often that most of the staff knows me by now. They have an amazing breakfast menu and great lunch as well. It does get busy but don’t let the long lines outside deter you - they move quickly. Also, this place brings orders out the fastest I’ve ever seen anywhere..balances out the long lines! Their home fries and pancakes are delish. I almost always get a chocolate shake as well.
Soo this is probably the best breakfast spot on Long Island. They staff makes you feel right at home and the food speaks for itself. I have had breakfast here on several occasions and lunch. The food is always fresh, large portions and great service! My only complaint is the place isn’t big enough for everyone who wants to eat sometimes. I look forward to going back.Tip. If it’s packed head to the high top seats and you will be served immediately.
Always worth the wait. Consistency is key & they never disappoint. We try to come every week. My boyfriend gets the classic Benny with corn beef hash & it’s always perfect! I notoriously eat something different every week and I’ve never been disappointed. Everything is always quick, piping hot served with awesome coffee by the most wonderful staff.
Stopped in for the first time in 6 years (the last visit was chaotic and rushed, poor service) and found it changed for the better. Met a friend for a quick lunch at the counter, service was prompt, food arrived less than 15 minutes later. Their egg sandwiches are generous with just enough potatoes on the side. CLEAN and organized, while it was busy it was not overcrowded (for a Tuesday). Staff was pleasant and chatty, we were not rushed out after finishing before the hour. A lovely little nostalgic luncheonette that I will definitely be visiting again! :)
We went early Sunday morning and it was pouring. Gina was so kind and went above and beyond to ensure my boyfriend and I had a positive experience. They are very sweet and humorous. Food, coffee and service all 5 stars! Also, our host was very kind. I didn’t grab his name but he had long lashes lol! He was awesome as well.
Absolutely marvelous!! Had the Bacon and Gorgonzola Frittata, and WOW!!! You just wont believe how good it is. Friends had some of the other signature skillet breakfasts and they really were thrilled. Also had a very fluffy and crunchy Belgium waffle, that was well made and fresh. Must go, whatever time of day!!!
Absolutely Fabulous! I am glad they are back and inside dining is now available. Great ‘homemade’ food at reasonable prices. Their meatloaf entrée is a ‘comfort ‘food that brings back memories of my mother. I also enjoy the classic diner atmosphere. Best of all, ultra-friendly stall.
If you want great food and outdoor seating, Thomas’s is the place! We came for breakfast and sent outside in their spacious tent. We both got the breakfast special panini and it was delicious! We had such a lovely experience we already planned our next trip. We felt very safe and would highly recommend!
I love this place! Ive been coming here for years now and its always a pleasure to eat here. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Between the staff and the owner they are wonderful, knowledgeable, efficient and caring. They make you feel like part of the family! Oh, and by the way, the food is on point also! Try the frittatas, theyre amazing.
This place was amazing! We recently came for breakfast. Long waits, but it’s expected and waiting is doable. Parking is a pain, however, and the waiting situation is a bit chaotic and definitely violates COVID social distancing. However, the food was great!!!! Not only portions are ENORMOUS, the French toast (berries especially) will literally make your eyes roll back. I seriously couldn’t have eaten a more amazing French toast and was so sad eating the last bite. The eggs sausages and hash browns are great in portions— but they’re quite plain. I definitely think they can revamp that. But they’re filling and good. Definitely coming back!
THIS IS MY SPOT! Ive been coming here since I was a kid in the 90s. I know Tom, great guy with a great team serving great food. Im a breakfast girl and you get so many impressive options prepared exactly how you like. Its a diner but with a lot of unique, hipster vibe dishes. The basics are a sure thing: Best pancakes and waffles on Long Island (real maple syrup available for a small fee but worth it IMO)! I usually get their amazing, homemade corned beef hash (well-done) with eggs and french fries or grits. Yes, they have shrimp and grits! Delicious food, good coffee, excellent service and CLEAN! Only drawbacks are 1) the wait can be real long on the weekend and holidays, so I avoid it at those times. 2) Cash only - so be prepared. There is also an ATM on the premises. 3) they offer healthy options but you can easily wreck your diet here if youre not disciplined but the yummy food they serve is always worth the calories😁
Very small restaurant with amazing service. Its super popular during lunch, expect a little bit of a wait at those times. Traditional american diner style menu and delicious home fries. Service is super speedy but still friendly. Not a lot of parking and some booths are small but those are the only downsides.
This eatery has excellent food. The constant turnover of their wait staff is very unsettling to me.it seems every time I go to eat breakfast there, a different person takes my order. The service is always excellent.Watching the cooks make your meal is also very nice.I went there a few times late at night. The older gray haired cook seems to be more interested in staring at the waitresses than doing his job.Other than that, a great place for breakfast.
Smaller menu than most diners but what they do they do very well. Had the corned beef hash with eggs and home fries, while my husband had the French toast. Both were yummy, and the coffee was top notch! It’s cash only, but it’s all very reasonably priced and there’s an atm on site if needed. We went on a Saturday morning at 11am. We sat at the bar, otherwise would have had a 15 minute wait for a table.
A little over priced, food is ok not as I remembered it. They charged $1.00 extra for lettuce & tomato on my chicken salad sandwich which didnt have much flavor. My Husband liked the chicken caesar salad though. Had coffee & tea to drink and the bill came to over $27.00. more than I like to spend for a salad & sandwich.
This has been out on my favorites list! It’s not the best breakfast I’ve had, if anything it would be placed in the middle of my list. However, the food is actually pretty good and the service is quick. I had the banana stuffed French toast which is literally a French toast cut in half and made into a banana puree sandwich and topped with pecan and their own syrup. The home fries were decent, and my girlfriend’s chocolate chip waffle was also pretty well done.If I had any complaint is that they only take cash and if you come in and it’s busy, expect to have a rapid service that might make you feel like you’re being rushed indirectly, also after I got the bill and placed the money on the table, the waitress walked by multiple times and didn’t collect it so we left it there and left... I’m honestly just hoping she immediately noticed and picked it up.Would recommend if you’re in syosset or nearby. It’s in a nice location only 3 minutes away from a big mall.
Old Fashioned looking diner. Super generous portions, standard breakfast dishes plus some updated versions, like stuffed french toast or various types of frittatas. Weekends get crowded but have never waited more than 15-min. Staff is friendly and treat you like an old friend. Ive this place and highly recommend a visit. BUT NOTE: they are cash only, no credit cards.
A great diner with excellent service. This diner has been around for very many years...from the mid 1940s... one of the oldest diners on Long Island. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous...I always take home leftovers. Today my thick chicken wrap came with a bowl of soup... delicious and hearty... split pea was my choice. There is a small parking lot and on street parking. Its not one of those usual glitzy diners, but its old charm, even its name, rates highly with me.
This little, small diner is one of those places that is worth the wait. There is always a wait, around 30 minutes or less. The tables are close together so it gets real cozy. The food is delicious. I ordered Corned Beef Hash and Eggs which came on a skillet. Wife ordered the Banana Nut Pancakes which was equally tasty. This is our go-to diner when we do not mind the wait. Oh yeah, I think it was cash only? Not 100% sure but paid with cash just in case.
Stumbled upon this great little diner while on a weekend shopping excursion with my fiancee. That area has lots of places to shop but we decided to take a break and grab some brunch. We found this place after exiting Dennys because that place sucks and found this quaint little cookery. The place was packed but we were seated immediately, our waitress was prompt and courteous. We ordered our food and it came out incredibly fast. The food itself was outstanding. Huge portions served on hot skillets. Probably the best way to enjoy brunch. Im excited for our next visit.
Loved it! The diner is adorable and food came out super fast! What sorcery did you use to whip it up? I want that spell so I can make my families food that fast 😂 it was delicious too. My husband got the goat cheese asparagus mushroom scramble; I got the apple wood bacon omelet with fresh jalapenos and mozzarella; our son got the chocolate almond waffle. The coffee was wonderful too. The only thing is that I wish they offered half and half as opposed to milk. Service was spectacular too. We were greeted quickly and by many of the staff. They were busy, but they have a system down to handle that. By far the best service Ive seen in a long time! Will visit again whenever were in town.Oh and cash only, but they have an ATM with a very reasonable fee (1.95)
The experience is just what youd expect here at this local diner with lines out the door! The staff greets you and tells you how long of a wait to expect as you enter and tell your party size. The tables and seats are close together so you feel extra cozy and part of the family. The waiters drop off iced water quickly and take a drink order soon after. The waitress grabs a table or twos food order and then about 15 or so minutes later the order is brought over in waves. Bacon sides with well cooked hot slices placed on the table. Then the who gets the pancakes? French toast? Butter and syrup placed earlier is ready to pour atop the plate full of deliciousness. We used Yelp to find a place for breakfast in town as we were here for a wedding the night before. ⭐⭐⭐⭐4 star reviews from over 1000 people cant be wrong....it wasnt.
Have gone 4 times and have yet to have a bad experience. Food is always very good and inexpensive, especially the Banana Walnut pancakes, generous portion sizes, fresh coffee, and clean cutlery. Not much to complain about in regards to those aspects. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the wait staff are very sloppy and somewhat inattentive. Highly recommend, but get ready to wait for a table, especially on the weekends.

2022-06-29Best diner I’ve been to. Food was fresh, tasted great, and came out quickly. The stuffed mixed berry french toast is a must order. Wait to be seated is a bit long but absolutely worth it.

2021-12-15Have you ever went somewhere so often that you’re considered a regular/family? Restaurant owner and staff know your name and face? Well, that’s what I observed at Thomas’s Diner. The staff are extremely friendly and they treat you like family. Great hospitality! The food is diner food. Nothing stands out about it except it tastes home-cooked and not out of a box. One must try their chocolate cheesecake muffin though. I got one to go and it was still moist and soft when I ate it later in the evening. It was my first time here so I was looking around to get better pictures for my review. The man who was in charge came over to me to ask if I needed something. Extremely attentive. So was my waitress. I will be coming back to try their other homemade muffins to try it toasted at the diner.

2021-10-13This place has a great, great staff. They were very friendly, made sure everything was ok and kept checking up. As for the food I wish I could say the same. I ordered the plain pancakes stack. The pancakes were very dry and flavorless. They didnt soak up the syrup very well either. The home fries were pretty bland and the Canadian bacon on the breakfast sliders couldve stayed on the grill a bit longer. The special of the day french toast was really good though. It wasnt dry and didnt have an eggy taste like french toast that are poorly made do.

2021-11-04Classic brunch diner. Can easily customize your order how you like it. Customer service is excellent. Coffee is free-flowing. A tad pricy like all such establishments. Taste is OK.Anticipate long waits at the usual peak hours. Parking is a bit of a squeeze.
