Im a big fan of this place, might just be the best place to eat in Riverdale. They have a good happy hour & 2 Sangrias had me feeling quite nice. This trip I ordered the Coca Tin Marin which is this flatbread type deal (I was delighted by the portion sizes) with plenty of chicken and melted cheese and two aesthetic and very tasty sauces. Thats another thing, the saucier here is absolutely aces, to start you off they bring out this bread with a Dominican style garlic and olive oil kind of dip. I couldnt stop eating it. The server was nice enough to get me a second basket 🥰🤣 Anyway, I also had the Caprese salad with my flatbread and I can simply say everything here is top notch, Im certain the Mozzarella is made in house and confident that everything in that salad was extremely fresh bc the cherry tomatoes were just popping with acidy and flavor. If youre in the area, try it out!
I like the experience I had in this restaurant. I had a glass of wine that was very good. The food was great. It was just enough food for one. I ordered appetizers so Im not sure how their entrees may differ. I liked my bartender I dont know if its because it was an early afternoon on Friday. But she was good I had to tip her more than the average. I liked the environment it was peaceful and refreshing. The decor of the location was very nice. I liked the way the place was upkept. The service was great. I would come here again and recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood. Its worth coming here.
.Pros:(+) Excellent tapas(+) Grilled octopus is a must!(+) Outdoor seating(+) Seasoned olive oil with the complimentary bread was delicious(+) Great food presentation(+) Clean bathroomCons:(-) The tapas are pricey(-) Night time, the music is too loud...hard to have a conversation
The food is decent but the place is very expensive and terribly managed. We sat around for 45 minutes waiting for our food.It was just sitting there but nobody brought it.I suppose we should have gotten up and hassled them when we saw other people getting their food. Nice people finish last?
The weather was nearing 100° & after canvassing the neighborhood for potential new homes we decided to stop by this gem & grab a bite & drinks. We ordered a couple appetizers, the pastelitos & the fish croquettes. While waiting our waitress brings out bread with seasoned oil which was pretty good. The appetizers arrived shortly after & were pretty good. For our main dish we ordered the salmon dish along with the chicken breast with yucca mash. Whomever is whipping up the sauces is a culinary genius, both plates were delicious! We enjoyed a couple sangrias (also pretty good) as well & capped the evening off with a dessert. Whether we move to this neighborhood or not, we will definitely be back. Especially on one of the nights with live music.
This might be only spot people go to in the Riverdale area for great food, music and atmosphere. Though it can get a little too busy at times, the food is always good!I highly recommend getting the muscles cooked in white wine sauce! The portion is good and goes great with the complementary bread plate given to everybody upon arrival.Being that this is a tapas spot dont expect huge portions with most of the dishes. If youre really hungry then if recommend choosing a main course like the whole fish plate. As for drinks they have the standard beers and wines with a few selections from Spain which I was happy with being that this is a tapas spot. Estrella is the beer of choice which most of Barcelona locals would drink. Or get a pitcher of sangria if you wanna get a little cheesy with your friends.Major tip, if youre going on a weekend be sure to RSVP a table to reduce your waiting time. Also I think Tuesdays or Wednesdays they have live music but double check to make sure.
An awesome place to hangout!is just perfect!,great selection of music, menu is complete ,food is delicious and fresh, staff is very professional and friendly, ambience is super cozy ,the only thing that I didn’t like was that my Carpaccio was thick but it was delicious indeed, sure will recommend this place to everybody and for sure will be going back soon, keep it up!,great work🙂❤️
Food was not great. It tasted fine but for what it was, was pretty bad. The pinchos meat were horrible texture, the empanadas meat were dry. The only thing I really enjoyed was the portobello mushroom and thing that was the only thing really worth it’s price. It was fine but not my favorite.
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Everytime I have someone to take out this is the place. There hasnt been one time Ive been there that the food is not on point. My favorite is French chicken with mashed yuca. Their salmon is also delicious. Service is also great. From all the times I have been there I never had a complaint. By the way they got live music!
Overall, I loved the food--and the atmosphere was fun on a Saturday evening. The interior design is hip and lovely. Their covid outdoor seating was well-designed as well. We were reminded of our Barcelona trip with White Sangria and the Tapas. We tried Pulpo Y Pimenton, Suquet, Gambas Al Ajillo, Pinchos and Albondigas De Mi Mama. The Gambas was creamy garlic sauce--so slightly different from the oil sauce I am used to. It tasted like rosé pasta without the pasta.Pulpo Y Pimenton was very good but slightly skinny in portion for the price.Albondigas was really tasty--especially the sauce. We dipped our bread in the sauce long after the meatballs were eaten.Suquet was good. All the seafood soaked up the sauce well. The mussels could be slightly bigger but thats just my minor comment. The Pinchos was disappointing. It was literally just all beef, all chicken, 3 shrimps in skewers. It was too dry and lacked flavor. The dipping sauce didnt provide any additional flavors. It would be nice to perhaps add a vegetable (grilled pepper or tomato?) to break up the flavor. There was not enough space on our tiny square table for everything. I would also advise to provide a discard container for all the seafood shells. They provided serving spoons for all the tapas dishes but no dinner spoons for us to eat the soups and sauces. The final feedback is regarding the 4% surcharge on all credit card transactions. I understand the times and the possible need for it on the business side but considering the prices of each dish, I didnt particularly appreciate being charged another 4% to use my credit card. But, again, the business survived Covid so I will not complain too much about this. The owner/manager and our server Danielle were very nice and accommodating. The overall experience was really pleasant and I will definitely go back to try all the other dishes and desserts! Highly recommend!
AMAZING CHURRASCO! Tapas were delicious and the drinks as well, favorite one is the one made with chicha! Overall environment and food was amazing, costumer service was kind of poor, you might have to wait a dumb amount of time for your water, that was the only downside of my experience there but will come back.
Delicious food! I had the plantain tapas dish, lambchops, and ceviche. Lively environment. Great service. Im vaccinated so it was nice being out and around other people and eating indoors. If youre not vaccinated, Id be cautious and eat in their outdoor seating area. I would definitely go back.
Consistency is always key! Everytime we revisit Tin Marin the food always tastes as it was 5 years ago. We live in the area and this is a go to. Their take out has been heavenly during COVID and their staff always welcoming... tbh with the exception of one particular individual.
I am so happy I got to visit this restaurant in my trip to NYC. I am from Latin America and I am very picky when it comes to Latin food. Not only this place had a great variety of dishes but the service was great!!! People talk about how rude people from this city are but in this restaurant they treat you like FAMILY!. I couldnt be happier about the food everything was delicious. The mojito was top of the line. On top of everything the live music made the experience even better.
Food was OK. The pulpo (grilled octopus) didn’t have the true grilled taste like it’s Mediterranean cousin. The papas bravas had aioli sauce all over them, which is not traditional and ruined them. The sangria tasted like regular wine with some fruit in there. Vibe was more interesting.
This place was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. The staff were friendly. Its a cool spot to chill and relax. The food though... OMG it was delicious!!!! They were small portions for the price but really tasteful. Would recommend this place to everyone. If you order three appetizers for two people you dont have to order entrees.
I came here yesterday for the 4th time with my wife and 2 kids. We also came for New Years Eve which was perfect. I love the mojitos and basically all of the tapas. The pastelitos, tostones and chorizo, and the dates are probably the best, but I have yet to have anything here that I dont like. We get to meet neighborhood people whenever we are here which is really nice. We always see the same staff, who are super friendly. If you want good spanish food, good drinks, and a good atmosphere with your neighborhood locals, then you should come by here!
I celebrated my nomination this evening in this great restaurant. I am glad to say that we had a great evening and the venue was evidently the reason for the strong celebration. The team collaborated in a lovely way, the meals were extremely good and my buddies were so delighted. We shall definitely return for more events. Thank you very much.
I loved the ambience of this little place, our waitress was not the best but her coworker made up for it. The sangria was delicious, both the red and the passion fruit. They had a young woman sing at about midnight and it was awesome! This little spot is cozy and not too expensive given the location.
I have been to this restaurant twice and I cant say enough great things about it. The food is absolutely amazing, everything Ive tried is good. But you NEED to try the Octopus Ceviche and the bacon wrapped dates. Oh and the grilled octopus. Just go, and stay for the music afterward. Its the best time.
Good environment, the Spanish food flavor was delicious. I ordered the churrasco and it was really good. They had live music. It was loud but fun. Not really good to take a person on a first date on live music night since it is too loud to get to know each other but will definitely go there again.
Came here for dinner with friends and positively surprised with the place. The service was good and professional and so was the food. I really liked the steak and the delicious empanadas. The place isn’t cheap, and sometime even surprisingly overpriced, but at the same time definitely worth it.Bottom line: Good food and good atmosphere. They will see me again ;)
Amazing place , customer service was amazing & food was soo delicious . The ambience is very nice & romantic yet versatile ( there were a lot of people at the bar too). We ordered the pastelitos and rellenos de pescado which were to die for. The sauce was so delicious. Lets not even mention the bread with the garlic sauce they give you initially is YUM !!Our entrees were so delicious we cleaned up the plates!!!I highly recommend this place, we will be back !!! Thank you
If I could give zero stars I would. I came here to grab a quick bite and ordered to tapas orders. I waited for 20 minutes and finally asked the waitress for the status of my order, to which she replied was delayed and my order couldn’t be fulfilled. It’s extremely irresponsible for the manager to allow such a delay for customers and to not ensure that customers be attended.
Excellent place in the Riverdale neighborhood serving Tapas and some nice drinks. They do have Margarita specials during the happy hour. We had a few small plates and they were all good. Love the Flan here, please save some room for dessert (Flan is not to be missed).
The waiters seem inexperienced, they do not look at their customers, they wait for you to waive your hand in an unpolite manner before they acknowledge you. They take forever to bring out drinks and food. Then they bring out the food one plate at a time (minutes in between). It is proper etiquette to serve food to everyone at once. Then the food, upon tasting, is bathed in salt! Does the chef taste the food? I gave them at least 2 stars due to the decor and the ambiance. Other than that, lots of work to do.
Favoritism service towards some customer; waiter didnt even check on on table but not on us (only at the end when i am ready for the check): I ordered grilled chicken breast ... arrogant smokers sat behind us (they allowed it) waiter and cook seemed uncommunicative. Most of all if was my 1st time there. Highly disappointed.
Had dinner here and was quite pleased. Service was great and all food was good to great. Especially loved the jamon croquettes, meat skewers and empanadas. We ordered seven tapas, a soup and three alcoholic beverages and bill came to $88. Not cheap but I would say appropriate for food, quality and service. Ive read negative reviews about service and we went at an off time (5 pm) but all food arrived relatively promptly and waiter and other staff were all quite attentive. Perhaps we would have had a different experience at 8 pm on a Friday night. Also you have to cut them some slack on opening week. Bottom line - Id definitely return and I think this is a great addition to Riverdale.
The food is always great. Ok so I have to apologize for not getting the name of the awesome Haitian bus boy who assisted our so so waiter tonight. This bus boy knows the true meaning of customer service and it would be wise for Tin Martins owner to promote him to his wait staff and he def have managerial potential given how much more attentive he was than our waiter. My husband noticed that our waiter was not on top of his tables, apparently our waiter at 1 point sat down with some friends. And we waited and had to remind our waiter of missing ordered items. Our bus boy was very aware of not just our tables needs but the surrounding tables, he even recommended what desserts were best to us. To the Tin Marin owner promote this bus boy yesterday.
My fiancé and I went here on a hot summer afternoon. The AC temperature was good and the bar seating was spacious. For appetizers, we ordered the White Fish Croquettes which was very rich in flavor and consistency. We also ordered the Sopa De Mariscos & Vegetales which was also pretty good. It was very flavorful but needed more seafood and less vegetables. Our sever was not very attentive and barely came back after serving us. Our main course was the paella for 2, which was disappointing. The lobster had a lot of sand in it, which made it uncomfortable to eat. It was also extremely dry. The rest of the paella was doused in olive oil, especially at the bottom of the pan. The peas were hard and dry, as if they came straight out of a frozen bag. Probably wouldn’t return.
Im not a big tapas fan. But the SO said we should give it a try since she heard some good things about it. Im glad we did. The food was delicious and the service was really good. Unfortunately I cannot remember our servers name anymore, but he was very attentive.Only ding for me was that it was cold inside. We were all the way in the back but still in line of sight of the door and we had to keep our jackets on. The table next to us was in the corner and they didnt seem too cold, so it may have just been us.Mojo that came with the bread was delicious. Maduros y jaiba was great. I enjoyed the mofongitos con camaron as well. We ordered a churrasco and it was ok. Our friends said its really good so maybe we got an OK batch, it happens. But overall, the food was great; the service was great; the ambience was great. Id definitely come back and Id also recommend.
Nice presentation but horrible service. The female bartender seems extremely inexperienced, as she claims my drink is to magic, or some how holy, or heavenly as she mentions. She use sarcasm and attitude as a way to treat and greet customer in a unprofessional manner. This unfortaently is not the first time expietencing the rudeness of this particular bartender. The food is not good, but the attitude and rudeness of the bartender ruins the good looks and burnt food. To specify on the food a tin Marin specialty flat bread was ordered, and came burnt with smoked cheese, that seemed to be less than fresh off of possibly the microwave. I find that this place Is not well establishment and do not recommend this place to anyone.
I believe there might have been a change of ownership. The red sangria was atrocious and my churrasco was over cooked. Overall I still like this place had a while without going. Good after work happy hour spot but I am hoping the horrible sangria was a one time thing will be going back soon
In my opinion, Tin Marin is trying way too hard to he fancy in what isnt a fancy area of Riverdale. This said, the food is good, the portions are substantial, while not cheap it isnt over-priced, and the wait staff are polite and attentive. Tin Marin is a solid date night location and Id recommend it to anyone interested in tasty tapas.
I went twice in a week, and am going bck with a friend for his birthday. The Paella is amazing. AMAZING. We were there one night when they had flamenco dancers, who I learned come once a month. Also, the margueritas are delicious, and they hav e churros for dessert! The staff is wonderful. A really nice addition to the neighborhood.
I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)Drinks: Excellent. James is an excellent mixologists and will serve you up a perfectly blended cocktail.Space: Are you looking for a sexy place with great ambiance, drinks, & entertainment in Riverdale? This is it!!! The space is very elegant, sleek, and modern. The bar, lounge and dining areas are intimate making it great for mixing and mingling. Great place to bring a date, impress your significant other or get-togethers. They have karaoke on Friday nights and live entertainment on Saturdays! I was there on a Friday night for drinks, but cant wait to return to try the tapas.Scene: People watching. Romantic. Date night. Pickup scene. Singles scene. Girls night out.Crowd: 30-50s Mostly professionals and locals.Service: Excellent! The staff is very courteous, knowledgeable & professional. The owner will make you feel like you are in his living room.
Had a horrible experience with the bartender today! I was served stale red wine but since I never had the red wine that is served during happy hour before, I took her word for it that it was a bottle that was fresh & opened today. However i had my suspicions since Im a wine drinker. My second glass was from a bottle that she opened in front of me & the taste was like night & day. When I confronted her....she said Did I expect her to open a fresh bottle just for happy hour customer? What? Was she kidding me! Then she got even more nasty, condescending & belligerent. Of course, Ill never go back & needless to say she earned every bit of her tip....ZERO!
The ambiance, music, the Paella De Mariscos was off the hook. Food was delicious. They have what I think if Portuguese Bread in a green oil dip that is out of this world. If want a quaint, classy, clean, delicious place to eat, go to Tapas-Tin Marin. Not too pricey and you wont have a doggie bag. . .Been there three times in a row, the past three weeks. . . .
Tin Martin atmosphere was really nice however the bartender was really rude. I order a tin martin flate bread and a Gavá mojito. the flatbread was completely burnt and drink did not taste like a mojito. Because being one of their supposedly signature drinks was made of cheap alcohol, futhermore the attitude of The bartender was disrespectful and rude, she showed no interest in serving and seems as if she was wrong profession it is my sincere opinion that this women termination would be the salvation of the establishmen If management should decided to continue business.

2022-06-05We went to this establishment, wanting to try something new. The place had a great atmosphere, the waitstaff was good and attentive. We ordered from the manu. That was simple and understandable. The food came out on time with out any issues. The steak was very good, the appetizers was the right proportions..and service was overall good..we will return..the only issue is the slope and the seating outside.. it is hard not to think your about to fall if you sit back and relax in your chair , just me personally.. sit inside if your a big size person if your concern about this..

2022-02-01Delicious service. Lovely vibe. The bacalao and yucca dish was heavenly! Everything else was on-point, from the perfectly made tostones, the coca/flatbread, the bacon-wrapped, Bleu cheese-stuffed dates, cabbage/potato/chorizo soup.

2022-05-08Always have a great time! Food is delicious and service is awesome. Tres Leches is delicious. So is the flan. There is no bad choice on the menu. I usually get the salmon with white or yellow rice and black beans. My drink of choice is red sangria. An undiscovered gem in The Bronx (well, not after this review..LOL).

2022-04-12This is my favorite restaurant in Riverdale. The staff is always so nice and I’ve never had a bad dish. Exceptional wine selection, good music, fun vibe later in the evening, and exceptional food. Definitely worth a visit even if you don’t live in the area.

2021-11-02Found this little place in Riverdale.. the cod with yucca was something out of this world. The owner’s mother makes this dish. The streak was how I like it. Medium rare. Enjoyed the pastelitos, and the mofonguito of shrimp. The presidente beer was nice and cold.

2022-05-08My first time coming to this restaurant and I had a bad experience. Order some appetizer they were average. For main course we ordered Grilled chicken breast and they gave us a chicken thighs rare cook. We asked for an exchange and they gave us the same chicken thigh almost burned. For dessert we asked for a Flan and it was extremely sweet. Waiters were inattentive.

2022-06-25You only get one chance to make a first impression and this place didnt disappoint. First time here and EVERYTHING was great from the food to the service. We will definitely be back.
