Tipsy Moose Tap & Tavern in other cities:
Very busy - parking situation was ok but a bit rough.Went with a work group - we were placed in the porch area - similar to a party room. We were able to conduct our lunch meeting in peace, which was greatly appreciated.Portions are very generous for the price. Would definitely consider going again.
Food was wonderful!! They give huge servings and the food is so yummy. I loved the Mac and cheese, the french onion and pulled pork was sooo good. I liked that we could do a Mac and cheese flight, that way we can try a couple different kinds. And the server was very nice
Tried Lexington Kentucky vanilla barrel cream ale...outstanding g, bright, with smooth finish. Ate Buffalo chicken pizza, brisket French onion soup and brisket Mac n cheese. Started with Buffalo chicken poutine and sweet potato maple fries. Delicious! Slap your grammar good!
Tipsy Moose is a great place for dinner and drinks. The bar and parking lot are generally pretty busy, and our host seemed a bit confused. But the beer was reasonably priced, and the food menu has something for everyone. We really enjoyed the fried avocado appetizer and poutine. The Mac and cheese was average - I would try something else if I were to go again.
I really wanted to like this place, the food pics and descriptions looked and sounded so good. We got the nachos, Mac and cheese flight, steak tips, a cheese steak sandwich and a grilled cheese sandwich with soup. All of the dishes were just okay, the steak tips were crazy greasy and I had to drain it with a spoon...it was probably 1/4 cup of grease! I also blotted before we could eat them Mac and cheese wasnt melty or creamy and just had the flavors on top and not mixed through and it was dry. The fried grilled cheese is an amazing concept but it wasnt a good execution and it just wasnt good, greasy and bland. The cheese steak was good, bread and the cheese sauce were fantastic. It would have been improved with less overall sandwich length with the same amount of toppings, as it was an enormous sub roll and the toppings were spread thin. The nachos were fantastic and by far the best dish we got.
If you dont like this place then you are absolutely crazy!! Best food in the capital district! Hands down! The menu has something for everyone! I recommend starting the other the fried avocado and the fried cheese curd with a raspberry dipping sauce! Beyond amazing! And the prices are great! 5 people at my fathers birthday with 5 meals 2 apps and 3 drinks a piece. 135 bucks! Cheap! Amazing! Check it out!
Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was amazing! Had a hard time deciding what to have! Ended getting the Brisket Poutine as an appetizer. For entree we got their Pulled Pork Mac and cheese, Blackened Filet tips, and Brisket French Onion soup. Everything came out fast and tasty!Definitely coming back to try their lobster mac and cheese!
This place is unbelievable! This will be my new go-to place when I go to visit my son at college. The only reason why I rated four stars instead of five is because the service was a little slow. I will just allow extra time for service because I definitely look forward to the amazing food.
OUTSIDE PATIO/DECK Want to rank it higher, the Taco Tuesday options and did flavor was AMAZING! But a dumpster on the other side of the patio fence? It wasnt even a hot evening and we kept moving but the breeze and wafting garbage smell kept finding us. We were told carpenter bees dont sting because there are so many flying around making you uncomfortable but it turns out the female carpenter bees do have a stinger. Either way Id try to remediate that it freaked several people out. Loved the place otherwise and will go back to the patio if you can do something about the smell and bees.
The food and drinks are superb. The wait staff, though, are slow and inattentive. The place is tiny and always loud and crowded and they, apparently, dont allow take out orders at brunch, which is super annoying when you have zero desire to wait an hour for a table in a place where you cant have a conversation with anyone without screaming over everyone else.
Poutine... Not sure if its Canadian quality, but its good. Probably some of the best Ive had in the Northeast. Poutine isnt hard to make but restaurants in just a few hours (even as far north as Plattsburgh) screw it up. This was outstanding. Perfect? We got some boutique poutines, so Im not going to say... But my 5 star review says I was thrilled and will be back. The rest of the food was good (maybe very good, Im still thinking about it the poutine). And the beer selection was nice. I know why this place is a local favorite, but for me its all about the poutine.
This place is great! My daughter suggested it for the patio but it was a little chilly still, so we sat at the bar. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The menu has a wide variety of choices, soups, salads, burgers and wraps. The food was really good and served piping hot. Great beer selection, as well!
Bartender was was nice, poutine came out cold on top. Bbq scene n meat was tasty, but the fries n cheese curds were undercooked . As if they just put the sce over top of old precooked fries n curd and warmed it up. I was hungry, so I just ate it n didnt complain, but, my boyfriend was very upset, since he was sharing it and paying for it. I do feel I should have mentioned it, so, it didnt happen to someone else. As a server, I know I should have said something, so they could remedy the issue, but, I just dont like confrontation and didnt. It did cause an issue at home. Next time, I will say something. He wont go back there.
A true local tavern, with amazing food! The staff was kind and hardworking (they deserve a five). The food definitely put us all in a food coma. The space was tight, so the large birthday party inside created a lot of extra noise and tightness...the physical size is the only reason why the place isn’t a five.
First time here. I got the buffalo dip and it was delicious! The dip also had some heat to it. Staff was friendly and service was great! The burger mac and cheese comes in a pretty big portion but it leaves a weird taste in your mouth. I would return for the friendly service and buffalo dip.
Really lovely little place. It was packed in a Thursday afternoon, which is always a good sign. Amazing craft beers on clean tap lines, a tad overpriced, but skunk beer is so prevelent that it is worth the extra buck or two. The food here was second to none. I highly recommend the Smoked Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese. There was enough food, literally for three meals (seriously I got three meals out of it), and it was impeccable. Dare I say the best Mac and cheese in all the capital area. If your looking for some really great brew, and amazing and customizable Mac and cheese that will blow your socks off, give the Tipsy Moose a go. There will only be happiness.Edit: 10/2019 : still going to the Moose and they still are delivering the finest of food. Cant recommend this place enough :)
This is the type of place to go if you want something different, looking for comfort and dont want to cook.Food was on point! Apps: sweet potato maple fries and gravy with cheese curd fries. To die for! That gravy is addicting. Meals: deep fried grilled cheese, deep fried turkey Rueben (table favorite!) burger with pulled pork and onion rings (asked for medium well and it came medium, but we loved the branding on the top of the bun,) and a cheeseburger quesadilla. Lots of grease, thankful we didnt have a heart attack, however the favors were awesome.Staff: so great! I called in advance to see if they took reservations and the gentleman who answered was beyond polite. While waiting for dinner, we asked for a bar menu and the bar tender specifically stepped away from the bar and came to where we were waiting to see what we liked and to make suggestions. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even on our way out, said bye! Our waitress was just as sweet. Thumbs up for remembering not to bring us straws as we requested!!! #stopsuckingOverall why I only gave it 4 stars was due to the wait, it took us about an hour and 45 minutes to get a table! This place is small and gets swamped quick. Since they dont take reservations, its hard to get a table but they do have a system in place to text you when youre up, and thats nice! P.s. you also get a free growler on your birthday!
Pros:- Mac and Cheese. Wow.- Wait staff/Service- Beer selectionCons:- Parking is tough- Dining area is very small . Not comfortable. Cold blast of air every time the door is opened.- The furniture has seen better days.- The bathroom is extremely small and smelled like urine.Better off going to one of the other Tipsy Moose locations.
Omg the lobster Mac n cheese is fantastic I died and went to heaven our server was wonderful the food wings atmosphere and all who worked there made a big impression we will be back I am a very happy customer keep up the great work to all who make the Tipsy Moose successful 😎
The bartender was rude when I showed up 10 min early for my take out order. I never mind waiting, just don’t want my food sitting there if it’s done. Once we got home all of the food was way over cooked and we couldn’t eat half of it because it was so burnt. Way overpriced for the food and experience with the bartender. Maybe they are more of a dine in restaurant?
Our waiter was an absolute dreamboat!! Even though he was extra busy he was attentive. The food was good. I was not a fan of the biscuit as it was kinda dry even with the gravy. The Bloody Mary bar was a nice extra allowing to make it ur way and the mimosa flight was good.
The staff was so kind and the food and beer was great! Parking was very stressful though for some people in my group, but there is additional parking nearby. We sat at their outdoor patio which was nice and heated! I had the Anderson Valley Framboise Rose Gose and veggie quesadilla, both of which were so good.
Rustic atmosphere with a quaint cabin theme. The beer selection is unmatched with a variety of bottled and draft beers. The craft beer selection ranges from hoppy IPAs, porters, lagers and blondes. These choices will cause delight to any beer enthusiast. The food was delicious, however the lunch crowd caused an undesirable wait to be seated and served. Plan ahead when coming to this establishment, its a diamond in the rough- but seating is very limited.
Went here for my birthday, the orginal parking lot was so tiny, they have additional parking just past the way, thats what we used, and we also car pooled. It was snowing out and the outside seating area looked like it would be so nice if they covered it for rain and snow so that it could still be usuable. Our waitress was fantastic, however the kitchen messed up a few times, I ordered cajun fries, got regular, ordered a lemonade, got pink lemonade,we had a appetizer asking for the gravy on the side, it wasnt. Everyones fries were overcooked. The burgers were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries with bacon and maple were outstanding!! Also tried lobster mac and cheese and buffalo chicken mac n cheese, also awesome. I saw a bug in the air at one point in time, but nothing bad or worrisome. The place was nice but everytime that door opens to the outdoor seating boy do you feel it in the restaurant, I dont know why ppl would sit out there. Burrr. I hated that as soon as you open the door to get in theres ppl right there as you come in. They should leave that edge of the bar empty at all times.
Ate here for the first time yesterday with a friend. We got the Wednesday wing special to share and I got fried avocado. Wings were crispy and flavorful, and fried avocado was perfect bite size pieces with great breading. Doors were kept open so I felt comfortable with the lack of mask requirements. We sat outside anyways, and service was very accommodating regardless. Great little bar in Latham.
They brand their burger buns with a moose brand. How cool is that! We had some mac and cheese and a their version of a BBQ burger that had shredded pork on it. So good! And the burger was cooked to perfection and so tender. All around one of the best restaurants Ive been to.
Wonderful barbecue sauce used on their pulled pork and inside of their mac and cheese as well as the French onion soup! The food was amazing but the service was mediocre. It was not a weekend so it was not that busy and would have expected better service but the food was definitely worth it!
The food here is absolutely fantastic. All the poutines, salads, sandwiches, and everything Ive tried has been utterly fantastic. The beer selection is very nice as well. The service has always been top notch, and prices are fair. The Latham location also has a TouchTunes which makes for a fun, personalized musical experience while you eat. Just dont try to play WAP on it before 10pm!
The tipsy moose has a nice comfortable atmosphere. The beer selection is large. They have a wide variety of beers on tap.The food looked good. We would have loved to try some but the kitchen closed at 10pm.We missed it by a bit...It looked like they have a nice outdoor area that would be nice in warner weather. We would come again.
Amazing bartenders, amazing food...just all around amazing! Simon and Taylor are absolutely fantastic! You will definitely not be disappointed! Ive been in Troy for about 2 months and have been looking for a great bar with great food and staff...I definitely found it here! Do yourself a favor and come here! Okay, updating...here for the second time and oh my gosh! Absolutely amazing! I will never stop coming back!
Bacon Gravy Poutine is to die for, so is the Candied Bacon BLT- great assortment of beer, ale, cider but with a full bar your options are endless. Unique, fun and inviting outdoor seating patio with fire pit, wait time was less than 10min on a Saturday night. We will definitely be back
Not a place to dine inside, In cold weather. The seating to outside kinda covered windows need a lot of work to keep out the cold. We sat inside but the door to the out area was left opened a lot. Causing a LARGE draft. I would no go back until summerOh yeah. Parking is another story
My mother, aunt and I sat inside. The first thing that caught me off guard was the smell. It smelled like a dirty bar i would go to in my early 20s. The floors were sticky and so were the tables. Also, the worst part, there were flies EVERYWHERE. Im not talking a few, but maybe like 50-100. All over the tables, flying around us, landing on everything. All over the bathroom too. It was disgusting. I ordered an impossible burger with fries. The burger was good but the fries (handcut) were soaked in grease, and hard and chewy (old Im guessing). Wont be back as I dont even wanna know what the kitchen looks like and how this place passes inspection 🤮
Love everything about this place. Its the type of bar/restaurant that I could see myself going for brunch and staying until dinner. The menu is HUGE and consists of exciting comfort foods, fresh salads, pizza, and more. We bellied up to the bar and received outstanding service from the bartender/GM (Nathan?), and it was busy! It will be our go to next time were in Latham.
Went here last night with the wife and I must say that the service was absolutely awesome! And the food was just as good if not better!.he moonshine wings were Smokey and flavorful. And the smoked Brisket French Onion Soup was amazing. The wife had the chili which she absolutely loved. Definitely returning
Googles limit to one review per person has made this review and ongoing affair.Update: SALT - Ive thought their food lacked seasoning/flavor for some time but we got a Gift Card so I returned. My wife ordered the Pretzel Sticks, they didnt have any salt on them! How does a pretzel not have salt!?!?!? Once again the burger was decent, chare grilled, high qualify toppings, soft toasted bun - but the beef patty was distinctly missing seasoning. A sprinkle of salt before cooking the burger and it goes from a 5 to a 10. I just dont understand. And I dont use alot of salt, I NEVER add it to my food when eating out. The burgers are just bland. The pretzels were for that matter too.Update: I went back, the Mac and Cheese was good and they had some great Stouts. I still wouldnt rave about the place but if you want some great beers and good food stop by.Heard rave reviews of the Tipsy Moose before going unfortunately I wasnt overly impressed. Wide beer selection but they had run out of my first two choices. Both meals were underwhelming, quesadilla was over cooked and the burger wasnt that flavorful. Also parking isnt great you will most likely end up down the street and have a cold dark walk during the winter months. If youre a big beer person probably worth checking out.
Met 3 friends for lunch. 1st time here. Place is small and was full. Waited about 10 minutes for table. Menu is quite good as well as the beverage selection. Had the moose head ale. Delish. One friend enjoyed it so much she got a growler to go. 3 of us had burgers which were all very good. Growler girl got the pulled pork sandwich which she said was excellent. Had some great laughs with our waitress. If you go, ask about the plant based burger- wink wink. I would definitely recommend. We want to try the troy one next.
Ordered macaroni and cheese and two hamburgers both for cheeseburgers everything was well-cooked. It was take out it came home warm and tasty. It was Priced Right and it was easy to get. They set up a nice take away because of covid-19. I think I ordered online and it went well as the order was received as put in. Macaroni and cheese with couldnt just right and it had a good cheese consistency. The cheeseburgers were nice and rare just the way we wanted them.
Loved the staff, food regularlers. Always had fun, great food. Never no inssodinces. Tonight being a regular eating drinking having a good time with regularlers. Im from Wisconsin. I was going to buy a tipsy moose hat. I waved my $20.00 cash after being told thats what it costed to pay Taylor got offended and told me I was disrespectful to staff, and regularlers.Till he apologizes I will spend my $80-$100.+ dollars somewheres else. I never disrespected anyone to his making up.Matt,MissiIts no problem to me .I just wont come back.P.S.Loved the brunch.
We were just pulling off the road for a quick bite and keen for something local. We had no idea what to expect and we were pleasantly impressed!! Super tasty menu selection made it hard to decide what to order. The buffalo poutine, build-your-own mac & cheese, and chili of the day we ordered was allllll delishhhhh - exceeded expectations for sure! Also a great beer selection - even had a sour on the menu. Service was on point too - very fast & friendly. Good vibes in the cozy outdoor area where we sat. Overall a really awesome place to grab a bite - will definitely be stopping back in here next time were in the area. Just wish we had one of these closer to us!!
We went on a very busy Friday night, so there was a 30-40 minute wait. The wait was very well worth it. First of all, the bartender went out of his way to make sure that we were being helped and suggested a local beer, which was delicious. The staff, though extremely busy, were all very friendly and attentive. At least four different staff members asked us how we were doing and how are food was. One of the owners even came out and talked to us. You very rarely see this level of customer service any more. The food was absolutely amazing, and exceeded our already high expectations (from reading numerous great reviews). We had the beer battered turkey Reuben (insanely delicious) and the pulled pork quesadillas (wonderful!). This was our first time coming here. We will definitely be back!!
I had heard lots of goods things and finally got around to checking it out for dinner & drinks on a Thursday. Very small place and pretty crowded but that all adds to the vibe. At 6pm there was a 40 minute wait for 2 people, but there was room on the patio. It was about 35° out, but they have heaters on the patio and it wasnt too bad so we sat out there. Service was quick, food (garlic bites and a burger) was good (fries were not as crispy as I wouldve liked), drinks were good.
Me & my wife went there on our wedding anniversary for the 1st time. We had the best time ever. Staff was awesome. Showed us love from the beginning. All the food we had was so delicious. Drinks was the bomb too. Special moment for us is when the staff played our wedding song on the jukebox. That was so nice. Definitely will be going back. Thanks to the staff for a wonderful evening.
Went for lunch and ordered the moose rack burger and a beer on draft. The beer was good, though I have certainly had draft beer that was colder. My fries were not crispy. I ordered a medium rare burger and received a burger that was very unevenly cooked and was closer to a medium cook. I went with 2 other people and out of the 3 of us 2 of our cups were dirty. Prices are above average and if you want fries its an additional dollar, sweet potato fries is an additional $2, and onion rings is an additional $3 or you can just settle with chips. The server was nice but not the most attentive. I was expecting a better experience overall.
I had a good time, good drinks, good appetizers, and enjoyed the food that I ordered but a person in my party got violently ill with food poisoning from this place last night, from the bullwinkle burger. Maybe it wasn’t as cooked as it should have been? Or bad meat? Either way, it didn’t go well.Everything else was great!
We traveled over an hour because of the amazing things we’ve heard about this place and it did not disappoint. Everyone we were with loved what they ordered. From the time we placed our order until the time we received our check was nothing but 5 stars. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you!
Vegans/Vegetarians rejoice! They have the best seitan wings. The pretzel and beer cheese dip is amazing as well.Parking is limited so be aware of that.I want to give them 5 stars because the food was amazing but the waitress refused to write down our orders and ended up giving my husband real chicken wings but me the right ones. She barely came around so he ate them anyway because of the wait but we definitely will be back.
THE MOOSE!!! All I gotta say is get over there ASAP and enjoy the beer and food! Place is a goldmine. If I could go every night I would! My man Nick holds the place down solid, dudes a legend! Get over there and check em out, and don’t forget to tip your bartender/server$$
AMAZING food. Great service. Tonight the person I was with asked for no onions and it came with onions. Happens all the time, but you would have thought they fed her something she was allergic too. They went above and beyond to take care of her because of the simple mistake. True class all around from the staff, the server all the way through the management. If you havent been here, you need to try it
Cozy, fun, Great food! Nice wait staff and bartenders. Their appetizers and food are great. The inside is very cool and rustic, sort of lumberjack kind of vibe. You will notice people pack in here... That is testament to just how cool the place is and the people are. There are bar seats ad well as bench sesting. You will really like it here. Dont be daunted by parking... there are spaces down the road with just a short walk.
Always delicious food and good beer. This time, came for brunch and wasnt disappointed. Food (biscuits and gravy and a breakfast quesedilla) were great and the breakfast cocktails were balanced and tasted good. Atmosphere and service as good as always. Plus it was my birthday, so free growler always makes a persons day.
Decent neighborhood place but I dont know if this is a pub trying to be a dive bar or a dive bar trying to be a pub. Good draft and bottled beer selection. Decent food. Good service. Very reasonably priced. If you dont mind crowded and noisy (at the standard peak times), this place is OK. A generally younger crowd, probably even more so later at night.
Fun place with terrific staff and good food and drink offerings. The place is extremely popular so be prepared for a wait. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but there is another lot a few door down. Especially like the patio during the summer. it’s fun to sit back, enjoy a drink and some conversation or catch a game on one of the various TV screens located inside and on the patio. You’d never know you’re on a busy suburban road.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was hands down the best I had in a while, very authentic, made from scratch so much love put into it. First time visiting, and definitely will be back. And if its crowded I will highly recommend you wait cause it will be worth it!
I absolutely LOVE this place. The atmosphere, the food, the drink selection. I almost always get the mac and cheese because its AMAZING! And if you get the flight of mac and cheese you can choose 3! Seriously, since I first tried this spot on Mothers Day this year I have kept coming back. I only dinged it a star because parking is a nightmare and if its busy the seating is so limited, especially if you are a party of more then 2 people. But honestly, its a 5 star place. BEST atmosphere, best food, best service.
Killer wings... Meaty, juicy and full of flavor. Staff was very attentive as usual. Kitchen open until 11pm so great late night spot for eats. Pretty descent beer list too. Darts out on the front patio. Didnt partake because of the rain and seemed to be designated smoking area so big deterrent for enjoy the fresh air
Still my one of my favorite places to grab a drink. Second only to the Troy establishment. I love the tap selection, food is amazing, and Missy will light your day at the bar! Parking can be difficult in the immediate lot but overflow can be found next door or near by. Highly recommended!
Omg. The food, the service, the ambience. Ok, maybe not that last one. But it is PHENOMENAL!Mac and cheese of all sorts of flavors, skillet served. These pretzel sticks that should be banned. Sweet potato fries that my youngest thought were candy. Terrific.Beer selection was good too. And service even better. You must go!!!
Oh my God!!! Lobster Mac n cheese and the pulled pork Mac n cheese are amazing! The fried avocado and the cheese curds were so good!! Im in heaven with the food and a great margarita. Local town feel and you cant go wrong with anything. This place knows how to make drinks and food!!
Food was good. Service was pretty fast and good. Place was packed at 1pm. Table we were sat at was so small and close to the others and it wobbled the whole time. My wife thought it was great. Place is very small but nice inside. Worst part is the parking. I barely fit in the space in the lot. I could only open my door a tiny bit or i would have slammed someones car. If they had more parking and added some space place would be great.
Food is good and the service is just fine. My reason for 3 stars is because the place is tiny and they try to pack in way too many people. The parking lot is just as small and parking is hard to find. You would think for their second location they would have found a bigger place. I felt cramped the entire time. For this reason, I likely wont come back even though the food was decent and fairly priced .
This is the latest iteration of this place and it is my favorite. The atmosphere is laid back and the food is good. The only issue is parking but they have a deal with the IT company two doors down so you can use that lot. Recommend the pulled pork pizza. The BBQ sauce was a little too sweet but everything else was great.
Everything about our first visit was very above average. Friendly greeting, no tables free so we sat at the bar, which worked out well because bartender (Nick) was engaging and fun. Bar was busy, as I mentioned no tables free, but no customer waited for anything, staff very attentive. Extensive draft beer selection, with a list that groups by category- most helpful, lots of local offerings- Wolf Hollow, Single Cut, Paradox, Nine Pin, 16 more- check their website for list. We ordered wings to start, their medium + bbq sauce, came out crispy and giant. Sensibly only had half of them as we saw other patrons served very generous portions, and we still had main dish coming. I got brisket sandwich w side of mac and cheese, after making 20 briskets myself I have to say theirs wins. Cole slaw and bbq sauce made the sandwich exceptional. Mac and cheese came in small cast iron server with crisp layer of cheese on top. Two bites and I was again thinking their kitchen outdoes mine. Wife got basic burger with side salad instead of fries, burger cooked perfectly to order, and we both remarked on the size and quality of side salad, Mrs. said the white vinaigrette was excellent. In short, cant wait to go back.
If you go here to eat, the best thing you can order is the flight of mac & cheese. Every flavor they offer has a rich taste. If you love your mac & cheese this is the place to eat. They have a large beer selection for every type of beer drinker. A few of the other dishes I have seen being served looked like they would be just a flavorful as the mac & cheese. The service was a little slow. But it would not keep me from returning to enjoy a meal from here.
This is the best place around. I love the drinks, food and atmosphere. The owners are knowledgeable about what they are doing and the chef is killing it. Best bar food I have ever had anywhere. I cant find an item on menu I dont like. The sunday brunch is also awesome. Beer selections are great! Dont miss this place.
Service, excellent. Samantha was fantastic. Brisket mac and cheese was amazing, chicken wings were crispy and sauced to perfection. The Moose mushroom swiss was stellar and cooked exactly to med rare. 5 stars all the way around. Makes me sad they dont have this place in Florida where I live.
Underrated brunch spot in capital region. The brunch food I recommend the most is the poached egg trio, eggs were properly cooked and delicious. I also suggest the wake me up breakfast cocktail for coffee lovers. They also have a build your own bloody marry bar allowing you to garnish your drink with a variety of meats, cheeses, and vegetables. This is a small establishment with limited seating and parking. The parking is remedied by access to a nearby parking lot of another building down the street. Please note the accessible parking lot is NOT the Japanese restaurant next door, they will tow cars. The inside is small and feels like a cozy log cabin, you may be asked to sit at the bar or at a table with another party to accommodate everyone. At times it did seem like they could have afforded one more employee and service could be a tad slow but everyone was polite and professional and again fantastic food. If youre not in a hurry and want to try a new breakfast spot this is one Id recommend.
I was going to leave a 3 or 4 star review initially since the food took a little over an over and was a little cold, but then I realized that it was a stranglely busy day and clearly the staff wasnt prepared for it. It was one of the first nice days after the cold winter, and it was the weekend. The server was extremely kind and offered a round of beer for free for me and my girlfriend due to the long wait. Even though the food wasnt piping hot I can tell it is top notch, and was excellent regardless of being hot. We will be back to give it another go, hopefully it wont be as busy next time so we get the full experience of the Tipsy Moose.
Friendly staff, awesome rotating tap list & good pub grub, but be prepared to wait. The Moose is a fun place but it gets crowded & lively. They have added a 3 season dining area which helps on all but the coldest days and they have a nice patio area. Still it gets crowded during prime hours. We tend to try for off hours and days. They also serve brunch on Sunday which is also crowded. I guess its a good problem to have.
Overall great experience. If I had three thumbs, I would give it three thumbs up. Sadly, humans only have two, so that will have to do for now. Exceptional service, great beer, challenging yet achievable trivia, and fun atmosphere. Met the manager working that night as well as some regulars, marvelous bunch! I plan to go back with friends soon!
Recently went here and although there was a wait we were very happy with the items ordered. 4 star instead of 5 was for the wait time for table. Reasonable wait for food which was prepared fresh and not packaged. We sampled and enjoyed Poutine and wings for appetizers and then had burgers, sandwiches, grilled cheese and tomato soup as well as special request of burger on lettuce for keto friendly. They graciously adapted without a hiccup and good value for the volume of food with plenty to take home.
First time here as we were passing through. Place was incredibly packed. Wait time was under an hour but well worth it!!! The food was amazing! I had the Beer Battered Turkey Ruben. To die for. The staff was awesome! Met one of the owners!!! Check this local place out ASAP!!!
We stopped here Wed 7/01/20 6pm for a dinner & drinks. We were able to park in their lot which is unusual for this busy local favorite. This is the original of the three locations, Now in Troy & Albany, NY. Twenty craft beers on tap $6. (most are from nearby breweries), also serving cider, spirits & wine and pub grub w/ a twist. Menu includes wings, tortilla chips w/ Buffalo, Philly cheese steak, artichoke spinach dips. Five versions of poutine, chili, soups, salads, & build-your-own mac & cheese w/2 toppings for $12.95. Lotsa ways to go here w/ 12 toppings & 10 suggested bowls. IMO the chili here is a 5 star recommendation. I had the chili mac ($14) - a very generous bowl w/ excellent chili and my wife had small spinach salad w/ chicken ($9). Soups, chili, & salad are offered in small & large sizes. Burgers, pizza, quesadillas, & wraps round out the menu. Takeout & delivery available. We sat on their front porch and our server was very good (Back B). The Tipsy Moose has 10 bar seats, eight tables indoors, roomier on the porch and on the patio outdoors. So two dinners, two draft beers, two wines - $51. - a very good value in a comfortable neighborhood tavern. Highly recommend the Tipsy Moose. NOTE: this place is very busy from 4-8pm. Good weather helps because of all the outdoor seating available.Hours:11:30am-1am Mon-Fri , 10am-1am Sat/SunKitchen:11:30am-10pm Mon-Fri , 10am-10pm Sat/SunBrunch:10am-2pm, Sat/SunWell see you again soon. Thank you, Nick & Liz, Albany, NYAnother visit 4/14/21 1pm lunch.Impromptu lunch here Wed 4/14/21 1:00pm. Parking lot was full. But there is a nearby parking lot at Turnkey Internet 100 yds away. Parking spaces for Tipsy Moose customers are clearly marked. Nice cooperation between neighboring businesses. We sat at the bar and Mitzy was our server. Wine ($8) for my bride and a Wolfs Hollow IPA ($5) for me. My bride really liked the candied bacon on her very good BLT ($12) and ADK dip-8oz of smoked, sliced beef brisket, sauteed onions, swiss cheese, horseradish cream sauce, on a roll w/bbq au jus ($16). This is a BIG 12 sandwich served w/ pickles & chips. Very tasty.Excellent service and a unique & varied menu. Specialties are wings, mac & cheese bowls, & craft beers.A good & friendly neighborhood bar w/ indoor, outdoor, & outdoor covered seating.Open M-F 11:30am-11:00pm, Sat & Sun 10am-11pm.Thank you. C-ya again soon. Nick & Liz, Albany, NY
Fun place to go get a cold beer and food. The service can be slow and it is usually busy. They have a menu of burgers, sandwiches, salad and some specialities (mac n cheese & brisket tips. I found their mac n cheese to be way to heavy. Most items are in the $10-$15 range except the lobster mac. Worth a visit to see for yourself.I have been twice and have witnessed patrons waiting for a check and then having their empty table sit unfilled for 15 minutes while there is a line out outside waiting to be seated. They either need more staff or quicker more attentive staff.Parking can be a challenge but they have overflow parking two doors down at Turnkey Internet.
My husband and I stopped in today while vacationing in the area. We got the trio dip appetizer, which was amazing. I got the chef salad and it was fresh with meat smoked in-house. My husband got the buffalo Mac and cheese quesadilla and enjoyed it. Service was attentive and quick despite the establishment being very busy. We will definitely return if in the area again.
As much as it saddens me to do this I ordered chicken tenders and they all where hard as a rock very disappointed in this also the French Frys also the same way. After the rave review I gave it the last time I got food.I absolutely love this place went on a night that was super busy me and my wife for a quick grab and go as I was waiting dont know if it was the owner or a bartender started talking to me super friendly made the time go by as I was waiting for my food I highly suggest going here great food and atmosphere.
Have been here twice this week!!!! I am an instant fan. Food is awesome. Killer French onion soup, the loaded fry selection will know you out.... The Philly Cheese steak is epic... And the Burgers... Words cant describe them, the worth every nickel and then some.... Get over to the Tipsy Moose and do your self a favor.... Have a few beers from their awesome rotating beer selection... Currently I am enjoying the Sloop Confliction.... Wonderful!!!
Went for brunch on Sunday morning right when they opened at 10. Great, upbeat atmosphere and the brunch menu, while limited to about 10 items, made it easy to decide what to get! The breakfast pizza was hands down the best breakfast Ive had in this area. Service was great as well - fast and friendly!
Beer menu looks good but they were out of what we ordered. Got our food but had to wait for ketchup for fries... the burger was cold by the time the ketchup arrived. Wanted another drink but finished our meal and was ready for the check before the drink arrived. Wanted to love this place, food was good, but overall disappointed.
We went there for the Sunday brunch and were seated on the deck. Heater wasnt enough given the weather. She ordered eggs Benedict and I ordered a belium waffle. The muffins for hers were soggy and surprised there is no hot chocolate, only hot tea or coffee. I have metal in my legs and I noticed an empty table inside and asked if we could move inside. They did but told us the policy is not to do that. As we were paying she noticed 3 male employees behind the bar taking shots. Wont be back to the Latham location again.

2022-06-02Loved everything about The Tipsy Moose! Service was phenomenal. Food was amazing. Drinks were on point. I rarely leave reviews but just had to say how wonderful this place is. The salad was fresh and crisp. The burger was the BEST burger I’ve ever had! I’m just sad I live in Virginia and can’t frequent this place as much as I’d like to.

2022-06-13The place was not welcoming nobody greeted you at the door.. it’s not kid friendly. Also the food looks decent but it didn’t taste great and it took over 40 minutes to come to the table. We had to ask for drinks a couple of times. To be honest their was other people waiting longer for food then 40 minutes.

2022-04-10My luggage didnt make it on my connecting flight so I had 2 hours to kill. I checked Googl first buy this didnt come up at all near the top... mostly diners. Checked Yelp... SCORE! Said the wait would be 45 minutes but it wasnt. Got the Chicken and Waffles. Didnt expect much being a NC girl. OMGoodness! The gravy was great and the chicken breaded just right. The sweet and spicy syrup with a few jalenpenos gave it just the right kick. It was SO good! Had a Mimosa to start and a Maple Cream Coffe to finish which was delicious and the perfect dessert. The service was amazing even as busy as they were. I am so happy I stumbled upon the restaurant.

2022-06-04Parking is rough, but the staff is fun and the food was pretty great (especially the Sweet Potato Maple Bacon Fries). Do not recommend the chili. So, is it just an East Coast thing to put chunks of potato in your bowls of chili?

2021-10-13We arrived and were seated immediately outside. Food was delicious and had good service. Inside found to be very dark.Mac and cheese special was absolutely delicious and filling. Giving it 4 stars because there is NO desserts offered.

2022-05-31Horrible food!! Just spent over $65 for takeout at the Latham site and received terrible food. The Cuban sandwich had bits and shreds of burned, over-cooked, and probably old pork—see the photo. So bad, I wouldn’t give it to my dogs. The brisket mac & cheese had one small piece of, also over-cooked, brisket. The sweet potato fries must have been sitting in oil because that’s all I could taste. Nothing of what we ordered was good and it wasn’t because they were busy ir overwhelmed. The place only had two tables full both inside and out. First and last time we eat from either of their locations.

2021-10-26We got the ADK loaded fries. Very generous toppings went to the bottom. Pulled pork sandwich was so juicy and delicious. Moose sandwich was a monster sandwich. So good! Highly recommend!

2022-06-07Relatively quick service, decent grub, many brews to choose from. The aesthetic is for sure the best part of this place. We sat outside on a beautiful day for brunch. The food was pretty good - cool that it comes served in cast iron.
