Do not get your car serviced here. It was my first time going to Mavis and I am shocked by how someplace so shady can remain in business. I didnt go to my usual shop for my car inspection because I wanted to get some holiday shopping done while I dropped my car off. Nasir calls me shortly after I left to tell me my car failed inspection because I needed an entirely new brake system and all of my fluids flushed. I automatically knew he was a LIAR. I said really I just had all of my fluid changed in August before I went on a road trip. He replied that it was all black which is impossible. My brakes are also fairly new and feel totally fine, they do not feel worn at all. I drive with children in the car and I would never compromise anyones safety. He told me I needed new brake pads, rotors and calipers and the car was unsafe to drive. NASIR IS A LIAR. When I went to my car and read the rest of the inspection they also failed my wipers. I turned them on to see what they were talking about and they were ripped. They were definitely not ripped before! I could not even make this up!! I brought my car to my regular shop and they told me everything is fine, replaced my ripped wipers and passed my inspection. I showed them the receipt from Mavis and they said cars very seldom ever need to have their calipers replaced and all my fluids and brakes were great. Read all of the negative reviews on yelp because if I had I never would have went to Mavis. Lying to their customers seems to be how they run their business. Managers clearly receive some sort of commission for work that is done. They run a SHADY BUSINESS and clearly try to take advantage of women. The sad part is even after all of these horrific reviews about Nasir trying to rip people off, Mavis upper level management clearly does not care about their customers and keeps him as an employee. This place is the epitome of sleazy mechanic and needs to be shut down. STAY AWAY!!!
Sair/Nasir lied to me and said that because I had an AWD car I needed two or four new tires to replace my one tire that had a flat. My car is brand new and only had 700 miles and he told me it was a thing to google it. I called another service company and they said that absolutely untrue and all I needed to do was replace my only one flat tire
I was up visiting family in New York when my car started shaking. I pulled into Mavis Tire Broadway Mall where I meet Anthony and Nasir and the crew. Very friendly bunch of people . They could having taken advantage of me . It turn out to be a simple fix and I was on my way back home . Thank you all so much . I fully recommend this shop . Frank Johnson
These guys are amazing. I have been here twice and they are very attentive and understanding. Some auto places tend to take advantage of you if you are not very knowledgeable of cars and certain issues involving your car but they make sure to take care of you and not rip you off. The mechanics are good and they make sure to assist you as soon as you walk through the door. They are very honest with great prices.
Had my front break pads/rotors replaced on my GLS450 this morning. Service was very fast and hopefully I won’t have any issues.Only reason I did not give 5 was because of the experience I had with the front desk guy (Nasir). He seemed very friendly and nice. But I realized later that he was a liar. He sent me the receipt by email and asked me check and said that he will add the ticket number (not sure what he meant). Unsuspecting anything, I showed him the email on my phone. He took the phone and submitted excellent feedback using the feedback button on the email. I realized that when I tried to do it myself later and got the error saying that it was already done. I would have myself given and excellent feedback. He did not had to lie about it. Beware of such nice / friendly folks who try to take unnecessary advantage.
I had a slight wobble / shaking feeling while driving at low speeds. Dropped my car off Saturday morning (August 21st) at 9am. For the $130.00 diagnostic, I was told I needed: Front and rear struts and shocks, new tires all around, alignment, and a new battery (though the Jiffy Lube I was at just the day before, checked my battery and when I gave the thumbs up and asked if it was still good, I got a return thumbs up, so it’s strange that Mavis said I needed a battery.) Was quoted at $2,221.xx. When I denied the repairs, I returned to pick my car up and was told (with an attitude) that I, “hit too many pot holes” (because the worker magically has been in my vehicle every time I drove it.) I requested to see the quote, I was denied. I wanted to take a picture and inquire with a mechanic friend (out of state) if I was being bent over and taken advantage of, and the worker yelled saying, “no pictures.” I’ll never do business there nor would I ever recommended someone to this facility.Update as of Friday, August 27th, 2021:After getting a flat tire, I took my vehicle to a Firestone tire center in North Carolina as I was traveling down to Florida. I informed the floor manager about what I experienced at the Mavis facility. He said he’d check everything they checked. After the inspection, he said that the other rear tire I had just rotated to the rear, was low on tread, but didn’t try to sell me anything. He said he’d replace the one tire no problem and even offered the cheapest tire first with a coupon discount. They were very laid back, relaxed, and didn’t try to oversell me on anything. I ended up have all four (4) tires replaced, alignment, a lifetime warranty for the tires, in cabin air filter (that he showed me but said was still good, I decided while it was already out, to just replace it), and a gas treatment they threw in on the house. Nothing wrong with my struts, shocks, or battery, I just had a bad tire that eventually blew out. For the four (4) tires (not the cheapest ones he offered), alignment, lifetime road hazard warranty, and the in cabin air filter, I spent $1,076. Saved myself $1,114 by going somewhere else.
I took my car for inspection. It failed. But what made me really upset was that they took off the inspection sticker after failing the inspection, making me unable to street park inbetween getting another inspection. They are a mean and wierd shop. I would never recommend.
HORRIBLE and unprofessional customer service. If you call to inquire about anything, the person who picks up will cut you off in 2 seconds to tell you that everything can be found on the website, even though the reason you’re calling is BECAUSE you couldn’t find it on the website. He will then abruptly put you on hold because he doesn’t want to talk to you and then hang up after leaving you there for 10 minutes. If this is how they treat you on the phone, I’d hate to see how they treat you or your vehicle in person. Any location but this one is great, just stay away from this one.
I would give them zero stars if i can. Went in for inspection, they told me it will take about 2hrs. I called back to ask if done and they said the system was down! They didnt even bother to call?!!! Saying we tried call. Well try twice or leave a voicemail. I spent 2 hrs roaming in the broadway mall for no reason, when i could have just gone to someone else. And literally no apology for making someone hang around 2hrs without work. Gladly someone else was able to accommodate me last minute and I was done in 20 - 30 minutes.
This Mavis has a friendly, knowledgeable staff that has always done the job right for me. My vehicles are usually done before the expected time and all my questions answered. When they have encounter something unexpected, they call first to describe the problem and what my options are. Ive owned a lot of cars and used many places, but over the years, Ive come to trust this service center as being honest, competent, and professional.
I felt that I was treated like a human being starting from when I entered the store. The clerk explained everything so that I could understand my options. I was not pressured into making any purchase I didnt need. I got four new tires and a complete brake job as well as a New York State Inspection. My only complaint would be that the cost of the tire does not include mounting or balancing. Obviously, Im going to need the tire mounted and balanced. Who just goes in and buys a tire with out it? I understand that every tire store follows that practice. I just wish they would include those services in the price of the tire. STS Tires company used to do that before they merged with Mavis. All in all, I would recommend Mavis tires.
I called Mavis as I have done for years without any issues . I normally speak with Anthony who is always polite and helpful. This time his manager picked up the phone while I was trying to order 6 tyres and was extremely rude and abrupt with me. This is very disappointing as I have always had a great experience dealing with other employees. This man has no business answering phones or being a manager oanywhere
I walk in and try to let them I just called. Nasir respond I never receive your call and I try to tell him I was here before. He said you went to another store with bad attitude. then try to argue with me I am wrong. I told him never mind I come for change the tire nothing with argument. then following with very unhappy experience.I told him I dont like your attitude He answer me If I dont like, he can pull out car back to me What is the attitude ? I am so mad with this kind of service. I still change the tire 200.00 with no optional tire (Mavis).I never come back to this store and suggest who see this comment dont come to this store.
Stay away from the Hicksville location. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. The manager (guy in white shirt at from desk) was arguing and cursing at people in the shop. He made it clear that he could care less about my business and didn’t want me there.The Westbury location is much better and Ken deserves five stars.
I would prefer to give this establishment no stars. I brought my car here for an oil change, called ahead to ask the price they advised it will be $40. I dropped off my car, asked the Employee Anthony to make sure my fluids were checked and filled and to fill my tires with air since they were low due to the cold. I left Mavis and went to the mall while I waited for it to be done. They called me once it was done and advised my breaks were really bad that I had none left and my belt is horrible. My breaks and belt were perfectly fine when I entered the shop. I advised I didnt want the work done and went to pick up my car, when I got there they charged my $76 for the oil change even though they told me over the phone it was $40. I was disgusted at this point so I paid and left promising myself never to go back here. The next day I started to have problems with my car after this, I had someone check the fluids and turns out I have completely no antifreeze or break fluid. I had my oil change last Saturday 2/20/2021, I asked specifically to check my fluids. They obviously was trying to make money out of me and drained my fluids when I denied them to do the work for me. I could of lost all my breaks and could of seriously been hurt if I didnt catch this. During this horrible time with COVID in the world its sad to see people are still scheming.I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THIS MAVIS OR HAVE ANTHONY HELP YOU!
I had called and made an appointment and the man at the front desk was very rude. He told me that I would have to wait over an hour just for them to look at my car (not even fix it) because it is first come first serve. But they did not mention anything of the sort when I called prior and made an appointment. I told him I made an appointment and he said it doesn’t matter first come first serve. If that was the case they should have said that when I called 5 minutes prior. There was also only one other car at the shop at the time. I went to a different mavis 5 minutes away and was seen immediately. & they were much nicer. Don’t go here.
They were charging me too much they asked me $1700 for Nissan car they told me my brakes, wipers, All four tires and plus State inspection when took it to the dealership they told me everything is good nothing is needed and Nissan dealership fixed it for $118 with State inspection, oil change and tire rotation and some other stuff can you believe it .
Used to be a big fan and user of this place, until one negative experience with the man at the front desk. Poor customer service, and the man didnt seem to care at all about my issue. I guess all it takes is one bad experience to lose a customer, so youve lost this one. Hopefully others will see this and avoid your establishment. Im sure there are helpful employees working here, so its a shame one had to ruin the whole reputation.
Simply the best place to bring your car in for the best service. I have tried other locations too but the manager here Nasir was very friendly and gave me the detailed condition report of my car what I needed to take care of and how my car needed brakes and stuff. Recommend this 10/10 always come back. Love this location.
Used to be a good place to do regular service. But today the front desk lied in my face.Called earlier and confirmed for 2 tires change for $137 and when I came, said “oh we have a premium tire which is 90 for each and I only have one regular tire left. Just been sold “ which is in 20 minutes.“I can only change the one at $63” “we don’t have it in stock”Lured me in and waste my time. That’s really a bad experience
Horrible horrible horrible tire shop. Completely denied service said it would take way too long to change one tire. Do not recommend going to this place as they are excuse makers instead of people trying to help you out. Worst customer service the manager was extremely rude and completely unhelpful. Would honesty say to pay more money and just go to any other place than this place
I came in about 15 minutes late, was checked in without any trouble. As I was leaving to take a walk while I waited I realized I forgot my cell phone! So I went back in, explained what happened and Nasir told me to wait about 15 minutes for an update. While I waited, an elderly man came in for an inspection that couldn’t be done as his registration was expired. He wasn’t capable of doing it himself on line. Nasir offered to do it for him! That was so kind! Then within the 15 minutes my car was done!!!! A great job all the way around. Kindness is on short supply theses days. Never expected it at a tire business. Bravo.
This place is awful! I made an appointment online about change 1 tire cause it was leaking very slowly, the other 3 runs fine. But when I got there the front desk employee checked my car said all the 4 tires need to be changed and rejected change only 1 tire “for my safety”. So I had to leave that place with my leaking tire cause I did not wanna take the “big discount offer” and spend $1,200 there! Of course they recorded I never showed up in Mavis’s system.
Just dealt with an incredibly rude manager/employee – I believe his name is Nasir. Not sure what his exact title is. Super condescending. If youre considering a tire change or state inspection, take your business to another Mavis branch or another auto shop altogether. Terrible experience.
I have been going to this Mavis location for a number of years now. Have brought multiple vehicles from multiple brands over the years. From luxury vehicles, like BMW and Infiniti to a Ford. I have always experienced nothing but professionalism, honesty and great pricing from the staff.
DONT USE MAVIS!!! Went for an oil change, tire rotation, hole in tire, and alignment. They did none of it, the dipstick when pulled has dirty oil, it is over filled, same filter is on there as before, tires are still losing air, you can see the camber and tow still off on my tires!!! AND NOW A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!! HAD ANOTHER MECHANIC TAKE A LOOK TODAY AND I WAS RIGHT THEY DID NOTHING!!!
Bukhari and the other technicians did a wonder job with my car. I would definitely recommend. Great customer service.Im editing this comment as off may 25. On may 24th i went back for an inspection, i was told my car is too low and that i should come back the next morning. The guys there on that day looked at my car from a distance and said it was too low.
I will never be returning here. I went there because I had a very slow leak in my front passenger side tire. They called me 2 hours later trying to sell me 2 rear tires without even checking the leak I had originally brought it there for. I was then told by an employee named Nasir that the front tire’s valve was leaking. He then sold me a new one for almost $90 which I’m told a new valve usually goes for $40/$50. Immediately after picking up my car the tire pressure light when back on, and I woke up the next morning with the tire completely flat in my driveway and had to call triple A. They showed me that the new valve that was installed was completely ripped likely because they filled the tire with air without clamping down the gave allowing the valve to be ripped by the tire rim. I brought it back to them for help the next day and instead of offering apologizes and fixing the issue they caused right away they sent me away to another mavis location saying they were too busy to deal with it at that moment when I had to make a 3 hour car ride later that day.
This is my new go-to Mavis location. The guys are great, Tony is so friendly and will leave you cracking up. Plus the service is quick and the location is great, given it’s close proximity to Broadway Mall. Just drop off your car and head to the mall, they’ll call you when the work is done. Great place!
Ladies - this place is super reliable. Ive stopped by here several times and the team here is always honest and act with integrity. I bought all my tires from Mavis (from a different location) and I come here when I have any issues with my tires. The other locations dont do things the same way - Ive had issues after leaving other Mavis locations. This is definitely my go-to.
I would not visit this place again , I was informed I will get 4 New BS turanza tires for the price quoted and will be ordered to be delivered in 1 hr to their store and by the time they finished they had BS Dueler installed and the invoice they handed me said they installed BS Drivegards, some thing does not seem rightAnd after little investigation on google I found out that through the numbers the manufacture date on the tires , they are 3 years old to start of with they are manufactured from 2018Very unhappy with what i was told and what they did and I was skeptical to start of with since never dealt other than the dealer
What a joke? Told me i needed front brakes, pads rotors, to drain and refill brake fluid and that my power steering fluid was low and black too. I should drain it and refill as well. LMAO I have electronic steering. MY CAR DOESNT HAVE POWER STEERING FLUID. I walked right out. My local mechanic said I have at least 10k miles left on my brakes. Mavis also wanted to sell me tires for 150 a piece add 30 more for each tire to balance and said I need an alignment. Bought tires elsewhere, balancing included and they said I do not need an alignment.
I live in Brooklyn but I work in Long Island. Ive been going to this location for years... Ive always been more than satisfied with the customer service and work that has been done on my cars... Its also a great location for you to walk around and shop while your car is being serviced.
They are always honest about pricing, and usually finish the job quicker than expected. The location is so convenient, it is right in the parking lot of the Broadway Mall, so I drop off the car then go run errands at Target or shop or get my nails done. It makes for a very productive day!!!
I know there are billion tire places, but this one actually stands out. The managers and staff work hard here and are honest. I truly appreciate their efforts and Mavis Corporate should recognize these guys for their service. Also, its a great location if you want to go wait and shop in the mall while your car is being repaired. Thank you Mavis Broadway Mall!
Been going to this location for over 15 years back when it was STS Tire because the service is excellent. Theres a tech there named Lenox who is the best there is at everything he does. There is nothing he cant do. No matter what your car needs call up for an appointment bc sometimes its very busy there and ask to make sure Lenox is there that day or the next day. They open at 8am I try to be the 1st appointment of the day.
The man who helped me was very nice and applied discounts to my order. Since I made an appointment the time it took to complete was about 2 hours since it was also a busy day. I got a phone call when it was complete and found the entire process very nice. I will definitely be going back
The office staff are not very thorough. I called the shop to get a quote and they gave me a great price over the phone. The man on the phone said it would take 40 minutes, but when I got there a new man tells me 3 hours. Then hours later they call me to tell me they cant work on my car because only the dealer can change the brakes on this model.Maybe someone can check the computer next time instead of yes-ing people.
I have owned a Toyota Highlander for 4 yrs, I have been going to this Mavis for oil change from the very first oil change. All the managers and staff used to be nice. I think they changed the manger and this new manger doesn’t know how to talk to customers or he is less bothered about customers. He changed me $20 more for extra quart of oil, let me tell you I have in the past 4 yrs never paid extra for oil. I showed him my last 2 receipts and he did not even bother to talk to me, he said he is the manager and said the previous ppl were doing it wrong and he would charge me if he was there. The total bill was more than what Toyota service center would charge me. I asked him to check break pads and he said they did not put any notes which means they are good, let me tell you the break pads are the original and have 50k miles on it, they are at the end of life.Conclusion - stay away from this place or atleast till the manger is changed.
I have to fix a flat tire and guy on the phone doesnt wanna sell me a tire and hangs up on me. And at store this fat guy is rude and unprofessional tells me to come back tomorrow when I needed my car back in a hurry for work. Tommy is probably the only nice professional guy there. Hope they service me well or Im just never going back. Bad experience already before even buying!!!Update: other than the poor customer service skills, the deal and time it took went well. Tires are good. So changed from 1 star to 3 star. If it werent for the internet deal and close distance I wouldve went elsewhere but it worked out. Guy there kept trying to argue with me about not hanging up the phone.
Ive been to a lot mechanic shops in my lifetime and I highly recommend this place for maintenance work or other services. There customer service is very friendly and extremely honest. My experience and repor with them is excellent. I dont understand what these other people with bad reviews are talking about and to wait for an hour to 2 hours for services ia normal in every place.
I’m beyond disappointed with this location I’ve been a customer at other locations for many years and this was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had ...I brought my vehicle in to have my brakes checked I was then forced to fix my brakes along with my rotors after I just advised from another source only my brakes needed work...I try to express that I only wanted my brakes done they refuse to do my brakes without having my rotors then I proceeded to allow them against my better judgment to fix both the rotors and the brakes .... After I got my car back the car is making a clutch sound when I press on my brakes I drove around for a while longer still did not feel safe with my brakes at this point in time.I contacted corporate they advised me that I could take it back to this location I declined. I was told to contact the district manager Mike to set up another location I spoke with him once we played a little phone tag and there was never any follow up... I traded in my car with the horrible brakes to get a new car I’m so now not only did I receive poor service with a horrible repair job I am now paying for equipment that I also don’t have... You have lost a customer and I will make sure to inform everyone to stay away from this location....
DO NOT go here!! Would be 0 stars if possible. Super rude front desk staff (especially the fat guy looking like Peter from family guy). He refuse to give me a spec sheet for my alignment and receipt saying the printer was broken but GUESS WHAT? he printed it out for me AFTER asking 2 more times bc i wanted a record of my visit. He also accused me of putting in new tie rods after my previous alignment so that i would have to pay again but i got the alignment for the new tie rods (which is the whole point of a alignment after getting tie rods). After i said i could go home to get the receipts for both services he finally caved in and warrantied the allignment. A few days later I find a leak in my car passenger side floor which was never there in the past 4 years of owning the car. Will definitely be contacting corporate.
I wouldnt give even 1 star to these guys if I can pick 0 star. The worst customer service ever. They use faulty parts and make you go again and again. And even after that they are so unwilling to help and correct their mistake. The staff is so rude and cant believe how unprofessional they are. The guy name Tommy is one of the worst person you can meet on this planet. And they blame on the car and then car maker and everything else. They very well know that its their fault and still dont do anything. Cant believe how they are still in business. They are money-digger. DONT GO HERE. Stay away, drive far and save yourself money and time.
Made an appointment for 9am the day before for inspection and oil change. When I geve them my keys at 9am I was told I was next and it would take about an hour to an hour and a half. Came back at 1020am and my car had not moved. I was told there were a lot of people ahead of me. When I said you told me I was next over an hour ago the mech said I dont know what to tell you.... Took my keys from them and went elsewhere... Terrible service
Im leaving only one star because they left a school bus that needed a jump to start in the parking lot . And they said no we cant help me and they had a jump box . So look at it like this the manger would leave a school bus stuck and not care if there was kids to be picked up he would just leave people stranded. I was even willing to pay and have one of the guys that work there jump it and he said they where to busy . That was a lie because the employees where just sitting there.
Just went today to see about a nail in a tire. The nail was an inch an half from the sidewall and they said it was unrepairable and I need a new tire. So I asked them for a quote for a new one and Ill think about it. They then put the tire back on the car and then handed me my wheel lock. I was thinking why they didnt just put it back where they got it from. So I got into the trunk and everything was all over the place.Later I found out that the quote they gave me was for a different model tire than the one I have, so it seemed a little cheaper at first.Not to mention, they told me this after 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting.Hope they understand that they are being reviewed on the internet, and this isnt doing so well for them.
Place is run by con artist call up get price tells me good price he says come down in five min get you right in I ask his name he says AngeloI go right down there live around the block he says Angelo not here . 2022-07-01I would give them zero stars if I could.I took my car to this location for inspection. I was told I needed back breaks and rotors or it would not pass inspection. The bill was over 800bucks… they also wanted to do my front breaks saying “they were a hazard at this point and I could get in accident” I said “no” to front breaks and I am glad I did.I went to my regular mechanic and after checking the car, I was told I do not need breaks at all! Not only that, the back breaks and rotors were put in wrong and now needed to be fixed….People at Mavis lied about the fact that I needed back breaks and rotors, over charged me and then tried to scare me into more work, saying I would get into an accident.Straight up stealing money from people.

2022-06-21Guy there by name Anthony. Tried to rip off my wife she had a nail in tire. He told my wife tire is unrepairable since nail is in the side wall. False! Nail was not on sidewall. He wanted to sell her 4 tires or else he can’t help her. My wife called me and had me spoke to him. He said he gotta change all 4 tires since car is “AWD” I told him only change the damaged tire he refused he said he will not help her and put the car outside and completely ignored her. My wife was stranded Outside with no help. I can’t believe he tried to rip her off thinking we would fall for such scam.I tried to attach the picture of the tire here so you can see how he was lying but there is no option here to have me upload the picture. I hope management responds to this review so they can take appropriate action to prevent it from happening again

They know their business and always do a a great job keeping our cars in great running order. Anthony and Nasir do an amazing job keeping you informed. 2022-01-25My husband is a Mavis customer from 8+ years. Any type of car service - he always runs to Mavis ! We recently moved to this area; so this time visited Mavis near Broadway Mall for the state inspection. They simply failed it saying wipers need to be replaced, also battery replacement which werent in the state inspection checklist & gave a quote which was very high. We knew its not true because wipers were newly installed just 2 weeks ago. Later, passed the inspection at some other place without any issues. Sad experience at this particular Mavis location being a loyal customer from many years.

2022-01-13Good Mavis branch, they respected my time got me in and didnt keep me waiting around unnecessarily. The staff was courteous and kept it real with me, I went in expecting to spend twice as much as it wound up coming out to to get my brakes changed.

2022-03-14Phil fit me in last minute for a tire repair right before they closed shop. He and the tech were courteous and the price was excellent. Highly recommend, great service.

2022-01-25NEVER COME HERE!. They charged me $525 dollars for changing my rear breakbpads and rotor and they scratched one of my rims and completely Denied it. Stay away away from this place they. Worst experience I have had. They cheated me and damaged my new rims. The guy at the front desk is very rude as well. Two weeks later the new breakbpads and rotors they installed started grinding. They gave me low end end rotors and breakpads. Ridiculous price. My car only had 45k on it. The rotors didnt even have to be changed. They lied to me and scared me into doing it. Went to Honda to get it fixed. They asked me why did you changed the rotors in the first place. These people will scam you of your money and will take no responsibility if they damage your property. Never come to this specific Mavis location. If you Vaule your money and your car dont come here please. Nasar is a very rude and has no manners at all. All these reviews are fake. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I will never come here again.
