Review: ……Had car trouble yesterday. I was able to walk in and get in right away! Had some people ahead of me so of course a wait. But thats expected with a walk-in. FRIENDLY staff!! When the employee explained to me what was needed for my car i had no idea with all the info he gave me what i should do. He kindly let me call my husband & he explained to him what i needed. He was willing to do that! Clean waiting area! Definitely recommend & would go again!
I walked in for an emergency tire service without an appointment. The manager Aaron was pleasant and courteous. They had my tire fixed in 45 minutes. Couldnt be happier with their service.

Very nice staff. I needed a new tire, and as it wasnt too busy at the time I went they were very quick to replace it. They also checked all the other tires.
Tried fixing a tire myself, but couldnt get the bead to seat. Called and they got me in first thing in the morning to get it mounted and balanced. Awesome service!

Sammy Vazquez was awesome. Was told at the Rome store it would cost 1800 to 2000 to fix the exhaust, front to back needed to be replaced. Heard from a friend the Rome store is known to do this and to call Sammy on Oriskany Blvd, so glad we did, explained to Sammy what was wrong, he told us to bring it in at 8 the following morning, within 2 hours it was fixed for 175. Thanks so much Sammy for being a good guy and doing the right thing.

Scheduled an appointment for 9am for a simple inspection. Showed up at 855 and was told it would be a 3.5 hour wait. The reason was that people showed up early today.Corporate might want to discuss the concept of appointments with the managers.

Recently had all 4 tires changed on my Audi, 3 months later needed brakes done and 2 different mechanics could not get the lug nuts off. This eventually requires them to be torched and cut. Perhaps Mavis should have used torque ratchet and not over 200lbs of pressure. Not happy and cost $$$ for a simple job.
The manager ( Sammy) was friendly and courteous. They were able to get my jeep in quickly. As a Nusre , I know very little about sounds and noises coming from vehicles. I explained the problem and the mechanics were able to diagnose the problem right away. Turns out it was nothing more than some loud tires with minor cupping. The crew there was easy to talk to and friendly. I will absolutely go back when I need tires or any other problem ! John
Needed a tire and valve stem swapped on my work truck and they got me right in on a Saturday morning. Had the work completed within the hour and back on my way.

I Brought a new car and noticed there was a problem with my tire air pressure. I took it back to the place I brought it, after spending 3 weeks in the dealers shop- they still did not fix the problem and couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. I decided to get a second opinion from Mavi Tire. Not only did the know what was causing the problem. They fixed it within 20 mins. I haven’t had a problem since. A big thank you to Peter at mavi !! The people were friendly. The service was great my car was fixed as asked and notified me if anything else needed to be done and asked if I wanted it done not just doing it then charging like other places. It was done in a timely fashion as stated overall great service

I was very pleased with the service at Mavis Discount Tire; on Oriskany Blvd. I was in and out in less time than expected. There waiting area was comfortable with a flat screen television and ac to keep you cool, bring a light jacket or sweater if you get cold quick. Another awesome service they give to their coustomers is being open on Sunday! And dont forget your rebate online if you purchase tires.

Been coming here for years with the wife. Admittedly sometimes the staff hasn’t been the greatest but Sammy’s customer service and management makes up for any less preferred service here. He works with you and is a good guy that shows he cares about his customers.
The guys were courteous and professional. I thought I needed brake pads and rotors, they informed me that I did not. I only needed a caliper replaced. I appreciate that I did not get charged for something that I didnt need. Theres a reason I am a repeat customer. Ill continue using Mavis for future needs.
I called and automatically got an open spot for me to come in and get my tires and wheels mounted. Sammy was really helpful with the process. He explained things clearly and help me get all the things I may needed for my new wheels to be mounted on my car. He was quick, friendly, and fast and got the job done. I can tell that he cares about his job and the skill he provided was just amazing and prevented any scratches on my new rims when installing it. I will definitely be coming back in the future. Had to go back and delete my 5 star review. This WAS my go to shop for years, especially for tires. The Mavis tire price match has always been a plus, but apparently change of staff means you get nothing but attitude and unhelpful bull, and the price match is now an option they have; even though corporate says different. Funny how that works.
Were very friendly and once got to me appt went smoothly only one issue had a 12pm appt and cat went in at 12:56pm but was out by 1:15pm as had nys inspection done. Will definitely return friendly service and that holds lotta water in my glass!

Id never been there before & was nervous with a new place as Id had some problems with mechanics over charging in the past. It was due to reading such positive reviews that made me choose them. The guys were great, I was treated like a person and not just a job; the guy who helped me up front was really impressive. He helped me to stop worrying and was friendly and personable. I was thoroughly satisfied and will definitely return for future repairs.

I wanted to write in and let the public know about my experience with Mavis tire. I for one went to mavis for the great pricing, I have been to other Mavis locations and I can tell you; the other locations are not nearly as good as the one on Oriskany Blvd. I went to this location and was met by the management with a smile as well as a accommodating attitude. Im sure they could see the frustration on my face, as my truck came in on a flat bed. This location were extra accommodating for my needs. I explained everything I wanted done and I told them the budget I had to work with. I was not willing to pay anymore, but I also wanted strong products that were not cheep. I was not an easy sale im sure. This location over delivered for my needs. Cutting cost to meet my budget, while running the best equipment. I am a very happy customer. All the staff at this location were nothing short of amazing. Everyone for the Manager to the Assistant Manager and all of the Techs were amazing. I would strongly recommend this location to anyone.

Not only good prices on tires, mounting and balancing of tires, but they do inspections, brakes, wipers, and other minor repairs. The employees are great here always polite and helpful. They treat everyone like family from what Ive seen and they have toys in there waiting room for kids as well as a tv. Its a small waiting area with only 6 chairs. But these guys dont keep you waiting around for long. Service is done rather quickly, correctly, and politely. If there is a problem with their work or service they have done, they will address the issue and try and rectify it as quickly as possible. Public restroom and everything is wheelchair accessible.

Worst place I have ever been too. I went here ones to do balance and alignment on my ram 1500 and they did the job half as so I went to tallmans tires and they guys over there were so surprised they wanted to know who did it.! Today I decided to give them another try... I brought the car in for a new tire change and balance and they told me the car will be done in one hour and twenty minutes 3 hours later I called them and they told me “it will be done when it gets done” after that time I picked the car up and on my way home I lost air in both of my front tires( on a Toyota Corolla) to add to that, the weather was horrible and having a blizzard didn’t add to it the car wouldn’t stop and put me in a slide. I came back to the shop complaining and I was greeted with cursing and rudeness from management it self telling me to take my business somewhere else after I told them I could have gotten in an accident and they said it was my problem, and that the new tires leaking air were some how my fault. I hope that everyone who sees this review changes there mind and goes some place better
Manager is a real class act!! Only place I want to bring my car. I hope mavis knows what kind of man he is. This guy always wants to make you happy and deserves some recognition. Guys like him are hard to find and they should be thrilled he works for them!!!!

I’ve had everything from Convertible 2 Seaters to High Cube Vans and 10 Ton Dumps and as such, have experienced a great diversity in the Vehicular Repair field. I’ve dealt with all of the Major Tire and Exhaust Shops in Central New York, and many of the smaller shops in my 53 years of vehicular ownership. For the last 30 years I’ve been a loyal customer of first, Cole Muffler and now, Mavis/Cole Tire and Exhaust repair.They treated me with respect from Day 1, when I stopped while enroute to a Job because of a major problem with the Exhaust on my High-Cube Van. The job required work that they did not do, and a trip to the Truck Dealer and the encumbent wait would have set me days behind in my work. The Shop Manager knew my predicament and went the “extra mile” to meet my needs. I left the Shop within a half hour with my Truck purring like a kitten.I’ve watched from the waiting area thru these many years as Cole and Mavis employees have put themselves in the shoes of Customers in need, and offered fair work at a fair price time and again. While they do make recommendations on additional work that could or should be done, they consider safety first, and try to find a plan that will meet the customers’ needs and his wallet!I’ve seen few others that exhibit the integrity of the employees at Mavis/Cole, and know that their consistent attention to aiding their customers must be instilled in them from the top down in that organization.I feel a little foolish gushing about them in this way, and, NO, I was not asked to, and am not, and have not been compensated in any way.Send your Wives and Daughters there in confidence. I do!

I had one of the worst experience in my life as a customer. The incident happend on 2-25-19 when we had a blizzard. I needed 4 tires for my corolla. Everything looked nice. Just come back in two hours. Eventualy it took them 4 but that wasn’t a problem. I had to drive for about 5 miles to my friends house to put my plates on. When we came over there both of my front tires were almost flat. On the right side the inner part of the valve was leaking under the cap. On the left side the valve itself when you move it just a little bit was leaking. We pumped both of the them and as fast as I could we come back to MAVIS place thru worst possible road conditions. I was with my wife. When we came back I explained the situation to their manager Lowell. I coud have been killed. He didn’t care at all. He said that I drove onto something and displaced both (!!!!) valves. No apologies whatsoever. He also said that they are chipest place in Utica and I still would have to come to them. But when I come next time he would just refuse to do business with me. If I new I would just go to walmart to do my tires. WILL NEVER COME THERE AGAIN. Even if something happens to their chip tires I won’t come back. Be carefull people.On 3-11-19 I called their corporate office. Talked to a lady. She said WOW and that she would file a complaint and that one of their manager Mark Gabriel would give me a call. Today is Friday 3-15-19. Nobody called me yet and if I don’t call them back nobody will. This is so disgusting. Here it goes again so called american customer service. Ir looks like all they do good here in the USA is an american customer rip off service.3-20-19 today. Haven’t heard from Mark Gabriel yet

Within the last month, I purchased 6 tires (2 passenger snow tires and 4 all terrain light truck tires). I had balacing issues with all of the tires. I brought the truck back within a week, and spent about 30 minutes waiting for a rebalance. They told me that one wheel was out of balance, and that they took care of it with a static balance. One quick trip on the Thruway showed the high speed vibration was not resolved. While the staff was polite and accommodating, I ended up taking both vehicles to Tallmans Tire to rebalance the wheels. All of the balance problems were fixed, but it cost me another $65 that I shouldnt have to spend. I dont know whether Mavis staff dont know to properly balance wheels, or if their equipment is not calibrated, but I cant recommend them and they lost me as a customer. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

I was visiting my family around January 2019 and brought my Toyota Corolla here to get 4 brand new tires. When we left, my tire pressure light was still on. I thought it was because maybe the air was low but when the light never went away, I brought my car to Toyota thinking it had some sort of damage but it turns out that the people at this Mavis STOLE one of my tire pressure sensors. Not only did they steal my tire pressure sensor but they also didnt hook my car on correctly to lift it. They hooked it to the car lining on the trunk and separated the super hard sealant that keeps it together and now theres a gap on my car. You can literally see from my trunk to the floor because of these idiots. Dont go to this place! These people will damage your vehicle.
Had 4 tires mounted today, had an issue with sensor they put new one in and they did not charge me for it.
After being treated rudly on the phone from the Genesee street store i was greeted and was made to feel welcome at the Oriskany street store! Those guys worked there tails off tonight and everyone of them were smiling and so so nice!! What a,great crew at that store. I would skip genesee st store all together. Unless you like,rude and nasty.

2022-04-09They were so efficient and helpful with tires. I popped a tire and needed to get in right away. I was able to order the tires online and book my appointment there too. They were thorough and explained everything. Great value for the cost. I come here year after year because I trust their work! Super friendly!

2022-05-07The manager at this location was extremely helpful. When I went in, I was already very flustered because triple a and another mavis store had given me issues. Being in the state I was already in, the manager explained that he was just trying to help me. He was very calm and professional. He informed me about what is wrong with my car, but still changed my tire for me. He also had my car inspected, which isn’t even what I went in for! He did it all in less than a half hour. Highly recommend this location, and I also think the manager needs more recognition because he provided excellent customer service!

2022-03-27I found a screw in my tire late Saturday night, googled to see if Mavis was open Sundays, luckily they open at 9am. I arrived around 9:30am, was greeted by the manager, Aaron, he got my car right in, tire repaired and I was on my way within about 20 minutes. Everyone was pleasant and eager to help. Definitely would recommend!

2022-06-25Called a head and told them I was coming with my truck on a rollback needed 2 rear tires. They got me in as soon as I arrived and I was out the door in under an hour. Service was great, Mark was very personable and made the service experience enjoyable!

2022-05-17Customer service was through the roof. They fit me in last minute as I needed a tire swapped. The manager came out and talked to me for 15-20 minutes while they were swapping my tire out and he was extremely down to earth.
