I was in one of those moods for loaded nachos and tacos and gave this place a try. The nachos for once did not skimp on the toppings and they were totally cool with accommodating my request for extra cheese and extra limes for my tacos. I also liked the Día de Muertos style art on the walls – it was just nice to look at during quiet moments in conversations. 9/10
We enjoyed our first Taco Tuesday at Tito Santana Taqueria. We were very satisfied. The food is delicious, and $2 tacos are unbeatable!! We also tried a chop cheese sandwich, a burrito and some empanadas. Everything we tried was super tasty!! We are so glad we stopped by. The service was friendly and quick, the ambiance was fun and upbeat. This establishment was so much more than I expected and we cant wait to sample more of the menu items!! Absolutely will return.
Good spot. We stopped here on the way back to the city after hiking the Storm King trails. Cool staff, great beer selection, cheeky worker at the counter but so it goes. There was a long hair coursing through a few tacos in one of the trays but they replaced the tray once asked (no bite was the same afterwards though..). Id give them another shot if I was in the area.If you go, try the Devils Path brew.
Absolutely loved the food here. Perfect place to come if you are hungry. We got the burrito bowls and street corn, with nachos and guac! We also got obsessed with their bottled drinks!! We honestly loved our meal and everything was so tasty. We were stuffed by the end of the meal so the portion sizes are great here. Also the staff was incredibly friendly. They have outdoor dining. This place gets 5 stars for sure...and well be back the next time we are in the neighborhood!
Walking into the restaurant I immediately fell in love with the mural on the wall and the decor. The cashier/server was extremely friendly and was nice enough to offer us a sample of the frozen margarita, which was really appreciated. I don’t think their frozen drinks have alcohol, but if they do it’s hard to tell. They offer a traditional Mexican food with a special twist at a reasonable price and it’s totally worth it. I kept it traditional with an order of two tacos, chicken and chorizo, and a chipotle chicken empanada. Their meats were simply delicious; tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The different toppings for each taco really helped bring out the flavors too. A big fan of the chicken and pickled onions mix. The chorizo with red salsa was different, but it had a nice kick from the chorizo. They also have a variety of different hot sauce from brands like Cholula and Tapatio, but a homemade red and green hot sauce would’ve been a lot better. The empanada was mouth watering, add lime and hot sauce and you’re set.Overall, I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite at a reasonable price. Take advantage of their taco specials on Tuesdays!
They had some nice choices for tacos. Tried the catfish, brisket, pulled pork and chicken. The brisket was the best but the overall problem with each was how they overloaded each taco and had way to much sauce on each. By the time you start eating it the sauces make the fresh taco soggy. Ive been to many Taqueria and the best either lightly add sauces o theyre on the side so you can control it.
I recently moved to Beacon, and am finding that a lot of the reviews are super inflated. Its become apparent to me that people living here need to go into the city a little more to get a better grasp on what delicious means. Having said all that, Thank God for Tito Santanas. This restaurant hits all the marks: Great people; Great ambiance; Great prices, Great fresh tasty DELICIOUS food. I didnt give it 5 stars because I reserve that rating for when I am either brought close to tears over food, or I have awesome doughnuts :D Te, he, he.
This is the 2nd time we have eaten from here.$60 for two burritos and two quesadillas. Full burritos were nothing but rice with tiny pieces of steak in it. And the brisket quesadillas had two tiny strips of meat and the cheese tasted off and wasnt even melted. Wholemeal was kind of unedible. Would have gotten better burritos from Chipotle.. the only thing that tasted fine was the street corn..
The tacos were good....if you dont live in Texas and have no where else to go. The burritos were a disappointment, but at least the soup was good and so were the empanadas. But not 4$ worth kind of good. The red and green salsa was from a bottle and not even homemade. In comparison to numerous taco joints in Texas. This wont even light a candle near it.
Being able to walk in and get a burrito as good as ours was as fast as we did was SO impressive. The staff were extremely kind and we cant wait to go back. Hoping for some kind of vegan cheese or sour cream in their future but the vegan burrito we got was AMAZING anyway.
So many great options for tacos, with multiple options for vegetarian and vegan which you rarely see. Tried shrimp, portabello and steak - they were all great! Shrimp was my favorite. Great drink options too, got two different kinds of citizen cider and both were good. Found seating outside at the picnic tables which was far enough apart for proper social distancing. Will def go back!!
While the service was fast and the staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food was just mediocre. Seven of us ordered food to go and each of us were disappointed. Some food was over salted, the guacamole was over mixed and lacked flavor and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce from a can. While it wasnt terrible, we have had a few other meals here that were good in the past.
Not great. The grilled chicken meat was some kind of weird flavorless mush, the grilled fish smelled really bad. The tortilla was stale and tough, probably microwaved. I couldnt eat either one. Hey, its got Mexican coke so theres that.Yes I have two first names, clever🙄. Put more effort into your food .
Anytime I’m remotely in the Beacon area, I come through to this awesome taco (and more) spot. They have a few delicious vegetarian and vegan options. And my meat eating friends always enjoy their food as well. Great beer selection. Super cool atmosphere - indoors and out. The staff has always been super nice. I highly recommend Tito Santana.
Great small place to eat. Great atmosphere, the staff is nice and very friendly, and the tacos are great. We went on taco Tuesday where select tacos are only $2. The salsa is a sweet and savory salsa that is made in house every morning. Overall amazing small eatery that I will definitely go back to.
Taco tortillas were cold. Actually cold to the touch! Served in paper. Think fast food. One taco was smothered with more raw onions than meat. One star bc the waiter was kind and fabulous and the atmosphere cozy. Nice place to stop in for a beer or soda. Nice music and mural. Too bad the kitchen doesn’t seem to care
Good taste and authentic food. Lots of flavor in their empanadas. The taco Tuesday deal is a great plus as well. I recommend it to anyone looking for a Mexican restaurant in Beacon and the area. Its a comfortable place and has walk-in seating. A simple but delicious side stop for a lunch break as well.
Super mediocre food. Their tortillas are the ones you can get at the store. Flavor is okay, nothing that stands out though. The toppings are heavy handed versus the meats. Our food was very cold even though the place was slow customer wise. Seems like all the food is prepped early and (not in our case) reheated later. You should probably heat the tortillas to order at least. The only redeeming quality is their server. Give her a raise.Expensive but maybe this all Beacon has to offer.
Original review:Review reflects the service received, the employee I could see sweeping through the window gestured that they were closed, a full two hours early. I might be more forgiving if it wasn’t my first time visiting, I checked their social media and no update was posted there either. UnprofessionalEDIT 9/25/2020To the arrogant and entitled owner, I have several questions:Do you even know what a Karen is?Do you operate a place of business, or is this a game to you?Do you honestly think that was a reasonable response to a mild criticism that spoke only in objective facts?Your establishment had already closed a full two hours early when I walked up, not a few minutes, or even an hour. Im working a 60 hour week and plan meals/errands based upon posted hours; you want to close early, fine, post to facebook or whatever. I checked! But rather than learn from it, you shame your customers (your reputation precedes you) and further highlight your flaws as an owner. Frankly its baffling for anyone, let alone ownership, to attempt to troll their customers criticism with a one-liner strawman. Screwups happen, but youre just a jerk.I worked in restaurants for over a decade, and frequently apologized for customers insecurities and genuine mistakes when appropriate. You need to take a look in the mirror and learn how to take criticism better. If nothing else, you owe it to your staff.A personal pet peeve of mine was how you made fun of one customers criticism that her first experience was great but that the food got progressively worse. Priced like NYC food but with low quality presentation/taste, she threw out her meal at one point. You twisted her words to say, I guess when all you know is Taco Bell and dog food, it’s all you know. Taco bell sucks, but her point was that you checked no boxes. At least Taco Bell is cheap, your food is apparently expensive AND terrible.American tacos masquerading as authentic in order to riff on a trend that gained popularity across (most) of the country a couple decades ago is nothing new. I guess I can respect your moxie to try to attract hipsters who dont know any better - thats one thing, also capitalism - but on top of it all, being a bully with an affected bougie attitude towards people criticizing your food is laughable; I havent eaten, but I already know that at best itll be okay. Authentic taqueria style doesnt exist in this area. The spots in Newburgh are only good in a relative sense, any food truck from the south could take you to the cleaners on your best day. Normally I try not to be mean, but thats just a fact. Usually fusion restaurants get by as a vehicle to serve drinks; maybe thats how you make ends meet.Bad quality tortilla for a taco, the tortilla was hard to eat it was cold AF.1Response from the ownera year agoThank you for your review. I’m sure you were dying to use the “AF” term. Our tortillas are locally sourced and is probably used in a majority of establishments that care about using an organic product. It’s the taste of freshness that you are tasting. Welcome to the real world. 😘I liked how condescending you got there, you really hold your customers in contempt. Yes, Ill bet he was just dying for an excuse to use AF, isnt that the dream (huh?).... Locally sourced tortillas....WAIT, so youre saying its too fresh for him to handle, but you DONT ACTUALLY MAKE THEM IN HOUSE????.... interesting. Maybe you should overnight ship them from somewhere else, as noted MHV isnt exactly known for its sterling mexican cuisine.I may edit this with more of your reviews, youre probably the only person who thinks (s)hes clever, so I hope you enjoy re-reading your greatest hits xD
I’m super picky about food, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Was worried that the taco shells would be boring flour ones, but I was delighted that they were soft and complex in texture. We had the portabello, the chipotle chicken, and the shrimp. Really good toppings too! Cool location.
One of the most solid taco spots in the Hudson Valley. They have a solid selection, especially some tasty veggie options. I personally go for the, portobello taco, steak taco and catfish taco. If your going for veggie options definitely go for the kale & sweet potato burrito.
Helpful and friendly staff. Clean restaurant and a nice atmosphere. The food is first rate, I have not tried anything here that I havent been more than satisfied with. They offer 3 daily specials that are reasonably priced and even for someone like me who can really put it away I have always been full. The first day I ate lunch at this establishment I was soo impressed I went back for dinner the same night. They also have $2 taco Tuesdays. If you want some good Mexican inspired food, this is definitely a great choice. And as a side note... to the woman who rated this restaurant 3 stars below me... who goes to eat Mexican food and doesnt eat meat and expects to be wowed? The main ingredients in their dishes are tortilla, meat and cheese. Talk about confused expectations.
Delicious food. Once of my favorite taco spots. Everything from the tacos to burritos to falafel, all good. Good selection as well of side dishes and beverages. The artwork on the walls is also very neat. The only down side is sometimes there is a longer wait for your food, but thats to be expected when theres a larger crowd. The prices have also crept up over the years. Even with those caveats, its still well worth the visit.
Probably better if you eat meat. The kale salad was good. My non-vegetarian friends love the place. The tofu in the tacos was plain, deep fried, and tiny. The mushrooms smelled like gym shoes, and as a replacement they gave me a kale taco, with brown soggy kale. I appreciate that they tried to replace the taco, and the counter person was nice enough (except when he told me thats what mushrooms taste like.... ), but I wouldnt go back.
Fantastic! A wide variety of options, including gluten free tortillas and chips. Super friendly staff, great indoor and outdoor spaces that really capture the spirit and spunkiness of the town. They offer discounts on Tuesdays and draw a big crowd, but the food is definitely worth the wait (when there is one).
I have been here several times over the past few years..I stopped in today with my family for what used to be an amazing taco place. The food from the first time I was here to now has gone down hill. The guacamole had no salt and the salsa was so sweet no one at our table could eat it..The chicken in our tacos had very little to no seasoning.the food is now just okay and can be found at any bodega at a much cheaper price..BRING BACK WHOEVER COOKED AND MADE THE FOOD IN THE BEGINNING.This is the response from Tito Santana-I just copied and pasted itResponse from the owner 6 hours agoSame staff Larry, and same quality. Seems like it wasn’t the right day for you to be there. Funny how you’ve been here several times but chose negativity as apprised to giving us props prior to today.Right...so only focus on the good??? Your food was basic today and you shouldnt be proud of that. You should embrace the ones willing to be specific about their reviews as I was..you should take the opportunity to fix it, not come down on the ones leaving honest reviews..My past reviews and who I choose to give them to is not up to you...stay in your lane and make your business better.
Let me start by saying: I am writing this post for two main reasons, the first reason is so that you, the customer, is aware of what to expect when coming to this place and the second reason is so that management/staff improves on their food and service. The first thing you should know is that the food is overpriced and the food quality is not worth it. We ordered a bowl and a Cuban sandwich and waited 35 minutes for our food. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that every table in that place waited a long time. We saw several people complain about why their food was taking so long and some people even walked out. Not to mention they had four people in the kitchen cooking the food – how they took so long to make sandwiches, bowls, and tacos baffles me. When we had about enough of waiting, we went up the register to cancel our food, but they told us our food was up next (in 2 min) so we figured we wait two more minutes and plus we were starving so we kept our order. When we finally ate, it was an utter disappointment, especially to the Mexican community. The salsa tasted like canned salsa, the rice and chicken had no flavor whatsoever, and to top it all off their bathroom was disgusting from what I could see because their light was not working so they substituted the light with a nightlight, yes a nightlight! My final thoughts after coming here yesterday are, I should have gone to Chipotle!
A little pricey but excellent Mexican food. I highly recommend the specialty tacos (catfish, brisket, bbq, etc.) and and all of the empanadas are delicious. Im not a vegan but I tried a few of their vegan options and I was blown away by the flavor. They also have salads, soup, sandwiches, and a variety of beer. Located right at the beginning of the main Street strip so finish it is super easy
The price could be a bit cheaper., expect to pay around $ 3.00 per taco. That being said this place focuses on the presentation of the food very Instagramable but when you bite into a taco you dont get the burst of flavor. During the Lunch Rush, there are can be a long wait to get your food, good to call ahead first. If you are passing by the Hudson area and are exploring Beacons Main Street, this place will fill your taco craving. Great for Hipsters, not for Authentic Tacos
My cousin and I went here a year ago. We had the nachos and they were delish. I came back here a few more times after that and the food got progressively worse. The last time I went there the tacos were inedible. The ingredients were all mushed together like dog food and the cheese tasted like cheese whiz! I had to throw my 12 dollar nacho dinner out. NYC prices and extremely low quality and sloppy presentation. Go to taco Bell😣
Cool place, nice staff. Interesting sodas, including ginger ale and root beer on tap. I enjoyed the fried tofu taco and the portobello taco, which included picked radish and slaw. I liked the rich flavor of the vegan coconut pudding, though the texture was much stiffer than I anticipated. The kale and sweet potato empanada was OK, but somewhat straightforward: the filling appeared to be little more than chunks of steamed sweet potato and steamed kale leaves.
Good food, Vegan options, slightly pricey. Friendly service, choose to sit inside and view their beautiful artwork, sit in the front of their store or sit out on their picnic tables on the side of their building. Sometimes the wait is long... Id ask how long until your food is served while ordering
EXTREMELY overpriced for what little you get... $4 for a taco that was more vegetable than anything... and gone in 3 bites. Unfortunately I was crunched for time and it was the first place I found. Only good thing was the mural that looked like it came out of the movie Coco. Next time... Ill starve
Oky food is not your typical fastfood price so if you want fastfood taco... might want to seek taco bell that said. Yes, its a bit pricy everything was $4 per... but it was like gourmet taco food that was not americanized... the service was friendly, interior was awesome. My kids soaked it all in. I only wish it was close to where we live!
Great tacos! Tito Santana tacos are unique and they are many different fillings you can order. I also love the empenadas, street corn and kale salad. Im sure that if you explore the menu you will find your own favorites. They also have craft beer on tap and canned wines that are very good.
Waited 35+ minutes for our food. Quesadilla tasted like something I could have made myself at midnight with store bought cheese, store bought tortillas, store bought pico, etc etc.Plus tacos are FIVE dollars. The BBQ brisket taco was drowned in sauce.Wouldnt recommend.
If you want to spend NYC prices on tiny, extremely mediocre tacos that are somehow excused by “the cute decor” than this is the perfect place for you. Bonus points if you have a thing for snobby management that couldn’t care less about what the customer thinks and fake 5 star reviews.
Went there one time and one time only, it’s deceiving because you will always see people eating there, why? Not sure, I ordered a fish taco, barely anything in it, yes I ate it, was it great nah! Will I go back? Nah! I asked for salsa, no lie i got tomato sauce, Do yourself a favor and try another taco shop, this one is a no go for me
First discovered this place when the bf and I missed our train. Food is bangin, seriously. However, as of today I dont see myself returning. Youve taken away your combo meal. $10ish for 2 tacos, street corn, and rice/bean side. Awesome....but now, 5 for a single taco? $3 for street corn? I am all for supporting local buinesses and I am willing to pay for higher quality food but its too much. I love your tacos but my wallet doesnt
I have been to Beacon maybe 6 times. I have ONLY ever eaten at Tito Santana because Im scared of change and because they literally have the best food within 1500 miles in any direction.Great options for meat eaters, veggie eaters, fish eaters, drinkers, etc. etc.Have not had a single bad bite and everyone I bring here always loves the place so highly recommend!
Im a foodie and have to say, disappointing.Maybe Im not hipster enough but I enjoy favors that pair. When I order a taco I do not want a tortilla full of cabbage and pickled reddish and if I order corn I do not want cottage cheese on grilled corn. This was by far the most flavorless food Ive had in awhile. 1/2 way through my meal My company asked me where we would be eating after.
Wow.... reading thru these reviews I cant believe how nasty the owners comments r when someone gives a bad review...just apologize to the PAYING customer for the bad experience. Customers r the ones who keep yr business open... dont know y yr soo nasty...yr food is not that good..u need a slice of humble pie. Change yr nasty attitude
Great food, but not great service, pricey..ordered a combo, it was 18 dollars with soda, got a tiny cup of guacamoley and after 5 chips it was done, they wanted 3.50 for another...wait I paid how much for lunch, a little burrito, chips but soda and guac are extra? Oh and it doesnt come with salsa...pssh...wouldnt go there again
Wow!!! had the TACO COMBO...with black beans and rice...and the BEST QUESO CORN on the COB...Ive ever had...also had one of their fine micro brewery beers...Sloop juice bomb...it was SO GOOD...Ill be back...and Im about as far from a hipster, as I can be.....Im sorry I waited so long try Titos...FRESH-DELICIOUS-and fast and friendly service!!

2021-10-12I went here to take advantage of the Taco Tuesday deals …. the tacos here really fresh and delicious. The art inside the store is beautiful and the outdoor seething area is quite spacious and great for people with pets. If you are looking for a quick bite when you are in town of Beacon, give this place a try. You will like all the Mexican vibes and food.

2022-01-10Go to spot for vegans looking for some good vibes! It’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant that doesn’t use dairy and this place nailed it. Food was authentic and the decor is eclectic. Prices are also very reasonable.

2022-07-14Cute little taco place in Beacon. The atmosphere and art of the walls is fantastic. Service was a little slower than I expected, but guess thats what happens when leaving the city. Empanadas were tasty (pulled pork especially)

2022-07-19Not too bad. $4 tacos. Street taco size. $3 on Tuesday for some tacos. Didn’t like brisket too much. Sweet bbq flavor. Chorizo was best. Fish was ok.

2022-07-27Nice design, a lot of food options! Many drink options too, the prices aren’t that bad either. The tacos definitely hit the spot!
