Love this place! I rarely eat out for breakfast but I go there for one dish only, their zucchini & chorizo skillet! I just don’t like drinking from their coffee mugs. They have coffee stains on them and a little bit of bleach can go a long way. The FOH staff isn’t personable, warm or friendly and they certainly don’t pay attention for coffee refills. The place is clean, bathroom is clean.
Our return after the Covid-19 pandemic to this fabulous place was nice. Fathers day brunch at a sidewalk table with other patrons enjoying a great meal was fun! Service was attentive, food was served hot and prepared as ordered. The wait for a table is never really long, it is a popular brunch location after all! We will hopefully be back regularly.
Stopped at Toast in Huntington this past weekend (early June 21) for breakfast with my wife. This is a modest place but a perfectly fine atmosphere for breakfast. Unfortunately, the very average food is wildly overpriced. $4 with tax for coffee? $14 for a plain stack of pancakes? My college aged son makes better pancakes. Oh, and youll need to add $2 if you want maple syrup. The home fries appeared to be deep fried with a few sautéed onions and scallion slivers thrown in. For $6 I expect better. And you should to.
My first time trying this restaurant with my family. Our waitress showed very lil if any friendliness! Food was ok, very lil fresh in tastiness!! In small words the waitress attended us as we were inmates!!lol too true!! Im not a big fan of writing reviews, but figure I share my experience @ Toast & Co in Huntington NY
The food is good. However, their menu online is not up to date.I went there today for a heart healthy meal. By 12:45 they were out of Chicken and Turkey. They offered me Chicken or Turkey Sausage as a substitute. Clearly, not what I had in mind for heart healthy. My point, how do they run out of either of those two things? They blamed it on a meat shortage from several weeks ago. Sounds like BS to me. If it were my restaurant, I would have run to King Kullen or a butcher shop to purchase some more provisions to ensure my menu was complete. Clearly, this is a management issue. PS: It is way over priced!!
If youre out and about in Huntington Village you need to take a short walk off of Main St. and get yourself over to Toast for breakfast or lunch. Quite possibly the best eggs Benedict that Ive ever had and i eat it everywhere! Very cute and very clean place, extremely friendly staff and all covid protocols being followed. I hate having to add that last part to reviews but it is the world were currently living in and is definitely important and should help people feel more at ease. The entire menu is available for breakfast and lunch so mosey on over and have a delectable meal!
Delicious breakfast! Their bloody Marys are nice and spicy. I got a veggie skillet and my husband got crab Benedict with house-made crab cakes, which were super delicious. The wait was quick even though the restaurant is small and service was great. And, they have dog-friendly outdoor seating!
Just had breakfast with my friend for the holidays at Toast. Service was basically nasty and the food was just okay. Had the homemade corned beef hash which was chopped like dust and tasted terrible. If you are going to advertise homemade then it should taste like it and for nine dollars as a side, it was very poor quality and overpriced. I am sad to say that canned corned beef hash would have been much better! Also, although my friend and I did spend a good amount of time there, we were enjoying ourselves and catching up. Unfortunately, we were then rushed out of the restaurant by a young lady who kept passing by and who then even asked if we needed change for a check that we hadnt even touched. And, the restaurant was basically empty. Wont be back for a long while.
Took the wife and Mom here for brunch on Mothers Day. My first time, but second time for wifey. Place was mobbed as expected but we got a booth in about 15 minutes. Fresh squeezed OJ was a real treat. Mom ordered a Bloody Mary which she thought was too spicy. Very extensive menu with many creative breakfast items. I was not feeling very adventurous - I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon with buttermilk pancakes ( yes, Im a pig). As always I paid extra to get real maple syrup. My food was terrific. Great pancakes. Service was very attentive. Toast did not disappoint.
Superior breakfast fare at a fair price for the quality and large portions you get. Extensive menu, both breakfast and lunch. Okay decor, seating a bit tight. Eating at the counter is a good idea when its crowded. Service very attentive with s full staff, especially on weekends. Parking limited. Look on adjacent roads.
Awesome diner-style restaurant that has a variety of both standard and creative (croissant stuff french toast?) breakfast options that are served all day long as well as a pretty standard lunch menu. Its small, popular, and busy even with its no-frills interior. Defintately a must-try in the area.
Short version: NOT WORTH A VISIT! unfriendly, tasteless, provided misinformation, and unclean, not good for vegans.Went here today with my girlfriend thinking it would be an all right place for her to eat as a vegan. Checked their online menu, called them to ask, and the woman who answered the phone assured me she would be able to eat.We got to the place and it looked nice, got seated and immediately ran into a problem; the hostess who sat us did not say a word to us. I offered a polite thank you and received a dimissive, smug face. She moved on to the table next to us and was thanked once again and warmly responded with a smile, “You’re welcome.”Our waitress was a kind lady, so no problems with her. But the coffee she brought us was awful. The silverware we unwrapped at the table looked as if it had not been washed. It was caked in egg residue. The menu is definitely not friendly to vegans, and it made it extremely difficult for my girlfriend to order anything but the avocado toast. Their vegan option for the toast (a tofu cream cheese) was also conveniently unavailable at the time.My food was okay; I would recommend their french toast options if I thought the place was worth it, but it’s not.
Classic diner food, but so much more. The iced coffee was tasty. I do wish they had cold brew, but thats just a personal preference. In terms of food, there were tons of options. I had a really hard time choosing what I wanted! I ended up with the Southern Skillet with poached eggs. They happily switched out an ingredient or two to make it vegetarian for me and it was out of this world! The perfect breakfast to reenergize me after a night-long family party and before hopping on the train back to Brooklyn.
My Sunday AM after Mass breakfast treat. Would be there every day if I lived at the north end of town. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Food is excellent and you get pretty much anything you want.Weather permitting --eating outside is a teat and pets welcome--my dog prefers the pulled pork sandwich!Very busy on weekends but worth the wait!
My party of 10 had an excellent experience at Toast this morning. We were seated relatively quickly and the menu has ample and interesting choices. There are heart healthy choices even though the Vegan choices are only available Mon-Fri when the Vegan chef is working. All 10 meals were served quickly. My Skillet choice was a quality feast and the other 9 meals I saw around our table also looked excellent as well. The server was attentive and kept our voracious coffee appetite satisfied. Our group split the bill for $20 apiece which included an ample tip -- well deserved.
Food wasnt as good as it used to be, place seems dirty. The walls are cluttered which makes the place feel cramped. Place seems packed all the time & it would serve them well to tidy up a little. I know its not the restaurants fault, there was a man probably close to 60 years old in an Indian position sitting at a booth which really annoyed me. Whenever a restaurant looks untidy I shutter to think about what the bathrooms are like. Definitely wont be returning.
Absolutely horrible! I would highly suggest not going to Toast & Co. First of all, cleanliness. With all the hype you would expect a clean and modern restaurant. However, the restaurant was very much the opposite. The laminate tables were peeling apart, the booths were all cracked, the menus were sticky and the floor was covered in food. Next, the service. The service was awful. We asked for a minute to look at the menu and our waitress didnt come back for at least 15 minutes to take our order. Food took quite a while to get out, and also came out at different times. Also, our waitress did not check in on us at all! We had to attempt to get her attention multiple times until we could finally refill our drinks! Ok, now for the food. Although pretty, the food was mediocre. The cannoli waffles were pretty good, nothing crazy. They tasted almost exactly like the tuxedo pancakes from IHOP. The banana fosters pancakes were horrible! They were drenched in syrup and soggy. The bananas didnt taste fresh at all! Although the waffles were good, the food in general was not at all worth the price. So now for the price, if your looking for a reasonably priced restaurant, this definitely is not it! You could probably go to IHOP and get triple the amount of food, and wind up with the same numbers on the bottom of your bill. Refills cost the price of another drink, which is around $4. Your getting much smaller portions than other diners or restaurants for a lot larger price. To give you some insight, the total was around $85 for 4 people. We only got one dish each. I would not suggest visiting this restaurant.
I really enjoy breakfast diners, and I was in the area, so I decided to try this place based only on its reviews on Yelp. When we arrived, my wife and I were the only people in the restaurant as it was after the breakfast crowd and before the lunch rush. Several other groups arrived as we dined, but we had no trouble getting a booth right away. I tried the Chefs Benedict, which is a variation of the usual Eggs Benedict where the Canadian bacon is replaced with a sausage patty and the whole thing is topped with shredded bacon. It was awesome. My wife had a chicken panini with fabulous batter dipped fries which were very good.I should mention that they have bar seating if you come by yourself you could still get in. My only caution is that the parking was a little difficult. There is a lot behind the restaurant, but you have to squeeze around their dumpster to use it and it looks a little sketchy (its unpaved for instance) so I parked across the street. If I was a little more familiar with the area, perhaps this wouldnt be such a big deal, and it worked out OK for me, but plan ahead.
I have been trying to give this place second chances for quite some time but they simply do not deserve it. I used to enjoy it here but they have gone downhill. First of all the place is filthy. The menus are brown and sticky, the booths are cracked and the chairs are filled with dust. The ketchup bottles have been the same bottle for the past 5 years that they keep refilling. There’s a hole in ceiling that’s leaking fluid and they have not fixed it. You would think for the amount they charge for food they would fix the place up. Speaking of overpriced food... I ordered the signature egg dish.. well it should be called the signature potato dish as that’s all it was. If I were you I would stay away. The owner should be ashamed.
First time customer and would go back again. Might take a bit longer to order because of all the great options. Just when you think you know what you want, you see other items that are more appealing. Nice that they having private parking too which is nice being that most places in Huntington have street or municipal parking.
Honestly we have been going here for years. The service is starting to get worse. The seats are splitting which makes sitting in a booth uncomfortable. Today we went there and there were quite a few forks and pieces of trash and food still under the table. The service has been slowly going downhill. The waitress will come over once for your order and then you have to sieze her attention just to get another cup of coffee. It never used to be like that.Ive been saying this for a while now but the plates are too big and the tables are too small for the plates. If you have 4 people at a table, there has to be A LOT of maneuvering to get everyone room to eat.Of late the food, which used to be top notch, isnt anymore. Their signature Burrito Crunch lacked its usual punch. The Crab Hash had no spicy kick to it that it used to. The food is still good enough to keep going back. But not as regularly as we used to. Damn shame too,
I have to say today they were lacking. I have eaten here before so I have to say they can be very good. After finally deciding what to order we were told they were out of avacado. So no avacado toast although an entire page of the menu is dedicated to avacado toast, a shrimp wrap came out with half the wrap having no shrimp and no guacamole. They werent out of guacamole. We waited and waitednfornthe 3 shrimp to arrive at the table. There were just a few things I found odd today at toast. The waitress shouldve given a birthday dessert or discounted the delayed shrimp OR something. It wasnt as busy as I have seen. Its a crowded, trendy and pricey place that usually is pretty good.BUT IF TODAY WERE MY FIRST VISIT I WOULDNT GO RUSHING BACK.
Very disappointing. This is a busy and seemingly very popular place with Millenials. The staff was inattentive, slow and inexperienced. I received the incorrect dish and my wifes breakfast was cold and both were sent back. Had to ask for silverware... refills on a cup of coffee were non existent. You would think that the namesake of toast would be done right... but even that was cold and limp. The mens room was disgusting.. no tp or paper towels.. had to ask for a napkin to dry my hands after washing. I pray the staff practices better hygiene than available in the bathrooms for the public. Ohh.. I almost forgot the food wasnt bad after it finally was delivered. French Toast was nicely done. Eggs were as expected. But with the overall cleanliness lacking and inferior service I feel there are way better options elsewhere in town during future visits.
I went to Toast this past Sunday with a friend who raved about the place. It all started off well until I ordered my food and decided to use the restroom. The ladies room was out of service so I waited at the door of the mens room which was occupied. The door opens and out walks a male employee. I go into the restroom, use the facilities, only to then find there was NO SOAP in the bathroom at all. I opened the door and asked a female employee for soap and told her it was disgusting to see employees using the restroom without washing their hands. As I sat back down to tell my friend, I see the same male employee serving food to guests! I was appalled so I asked our waitress for a manager. The very same female employee that I told about the lack of soap comes over and says SHE is the manager and tries to assure me that she took him aside and made sure he washed his hands in the kitchen. Ok, maybe she did, maybe she didnt. I have no way to know this. However, aside from the disgusting incident itself, I was also very put off that I made that initial complaint without this woman identifying herself as the manager! No good manager would do that. Having been in a position to manage staff many times, the moment a complaint is made, you identify yourself as the person in charge and assure the customer it will be dealt with swiftly. This woman is the worst manager I have ever seen. No wonder her staff is disgusting. Will NOT be back.
Don‘t order zhe corned beef hash.I madevtjis mistake snd it artived strsight from a can and glostingbin a puddlevof clear grease. For with a couple of eggs and coffee, I was charged nesrly $20. I eould notcreturn much much better and morecresdonably priced I would nevercreturn . Hstch, about 500 yards away on Main St i woulfd nevercreturn voluntarilyto Toast.
My favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Huntington. Try the buffalo chicken wrap, or the mushroom frittata for brunch or lunch. Anything for breakfast is wonderful and comforting. Also, the turkey sandwich with sweet potato spread is like Thanksgiving for one! Fantastic staff, great decor, food never disappoints.

2022-03-03So delicious! Wait time was not bad for a sunday morning. Well worth it. Friendly staff! I would highly recommend!

2022-06-22The reason I only gave 2 stars is because the portions served did not match the price. Although the food was good, there was not enough for the price. $11.99 for 2 medium eggs and 2 small sausage links is way overpriced. The service was excellent thus my 20% tip but the owner should stop being cheap with the portions. I won’t be going back.

2022-01-23Small, but popular restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. I ordered their signature corned beef hash with sweet potatoes and 2 poached eggs and a chipotle hollandaise. Absolutely delicious! Came with 7 grain toast, of course. I highly recommend it and would definitely return again. Service staff were extremely accommodating and kept the people waiting informed. They were quick and accurate . A perfect outing.

2017-11-05They said it was going to be a 40 minute wait it was only 15. We sat at the counter, service was fast and friendly. Menu has a lot of options, almost daunting. I got the crab hash, and berry pancakes, my friend got the eggs benedict, and corned beef hash. We loved the food and the experience, we are definitely coming back. They give 10% off if you pay cash. They accept credit and debit cards.

2018-01-14Had a good meal with wife and 2 kids. Place seemed a little tight, more than 4 at their busy time is probably difficult, buts a nice breakfast experience and environment. They have a good looking menu and looking around at other peoples plates made me change my mind a few times. Service was friendly and attentive, all food came right and tasted great. I recommend people to try if they have not. I would go back!

2019-04-28Philly Stuffer Omelette: seared BBQ marinated steak, caramelized onions, peppers, mushrooms, monterey jack cheese, chefs house sauce, finished with warm sour cream grape tomato confit. $16 Range...Spoiler: Crab cakes are on the menu too which is a fav of mine but not Lump Crab Meat mostly a bread filler which is a disappointment...Great ambiance, pretty good service, prices are $$$ fair for the area of Huntington, Ny. My only suggestion is that they add more meat in the actual Philly Stuffer Omelette and dont place the small 4 strips in the dead center of the omelette. 👍🏼👌🏽Service⭐⭐⭐⭐Food⭐⭐⭐Ambiance ⭐⭐⭐Drinks ⭐⭐

2021-12-14My 50 restaurant tour is expanding. Encompassing Nassau, Suffolk, NYC, Massachusetts and more. I dont just go to these places to eat but rather experience. That having been said, number 30 from a decor perspective is okay but very clean and has a pleasant family vibe. Loved the versatile menu with some interesting choices. I started with the coconut oatmeal and as a result, its what I make at home, kudos. The food was okay but in my opinion mightve benefited from a little bolder flavors. In any event, I would go back as the experience was pleasurable and definitely worth another visit.
