Bought something then stepped out, returning minutes later to use the facilities, manager insisted on lecturing me that this is not a public restroom.Otherwise, no real qualms about the place. Decently priced for the area.Id recommend you use a place that respects their customers enough to let them use their facilities without the hassle.
So many choices! You can go from unhealthy to healthy in just a few steps away. Prices are decent for the area. Upstairs seatings are especially helpful during lunch time. Staffs are friendly and always keep everything fresh. I love the little clear plastic bag for some reason
This is a very simple and nice dining experience, good is OK with affordable prices and a lot of choices. Soups, Ramen, salads, pasta, meats, and a plethora of other dishes are prepared at that moment. At night there are a lot of people just drinking, but the place is safe and is open 24/7.
Reasonable prices. Clean stores. Nice mix of food - meat, fish, veggies, and pasta - on the buffet. Simple packaged snack items similar to what youd see in a grocery store cookie/crackers isle. Made to order sandwiches. Cooler of drinks - soda (Coke & Pepsi items), water, and Gatorade/Powerade.
The food is not good. The hot food is not hot. How do you mess up corn, the corn is chewy. Do not ever get the buffet, especially on the weekend or at night, because youll be paying $11/pound for fruit, salad, and cold fried chicken with chewy cold (suppose to be hot) corn. My wife paid for this meal, but I reimburse her money because I was responsible for picking this place.
Wish I looked around more before ordering. They said the bathroom code was on the receipt, no such thing. Uggh. Really had to go. Had to order first before, I could even use the bathroom. Couldnt even wash my hands before eating as I did not have the bathroom code. Someone finally came upstairs and gave me the bathroom code, but someone went in before I did what a disaster.
They offer a wide variety of food choices. During the lunch rush things move fairly quickly. I do think the food buffet area should more of a covering around the food and someone watching what is going on. The seating are was spacious but not very clean. The day I went was a beautiful sunny day and someone controlling the music decided to switch the station to sad, brokenhearted music.
The food here is good. Wide choice and good prices. Take away works best. There is an upstairs seating area which is extremely functional. Strangely enough I have always found people getting into serious drinking in this area, with multiple sixpacks on several tables.
The hot food bar looked really good, but didnt get any I had just eaten dinner. I stopped in for 2 sodas which were ridiculously priced, $7 for 2 small cans. Expect higher prices because youre in Herald Sq. They sell alcoholic beverages, snacks, soups, etc. Theres plenty of tables to sit and eat. Bathroom was clean and the store was well organized.
The experience here was extremely poor. First we asked about burgers in which a cook replied that he had just cleaned the grill and it was not currently in use. We ended up getting a lunch special from the buffet area.•My problems with my experience is that our food was very expensive. The plates were about $20 each and it was suppose to be by weight but, my cousin had a lot less food than me so I did not understand how the food was priced that way.•While deciding to ignore the price the food was cold so we ended up having to go back downstairs to warm up our food which they did put in a microwave for us.•We spotted a guy come in after us with a burger.•We didn’t finish our food loss of appetite.•They were not rude but, nonchalant seemed not to care once we paid.
Unfortunately the hotel where me and my friend were staying was refurbishing the meals room so they gave us vouchers every morning to have breakfast at this place. It was the most stressful part of my holidays. Confusing ordering system - you have to repeat your order 3 or 4 times and itll still be wrong at times. Staff arent too friendly and the lack of communication doesnt make things any easier. When you finally get your food and go across to the cashier, they have no clue what youre paying for. You could tell them anything! Other times theyll just be shouting at each other from the cashier to the counter to figure out what you ordered, while you wait. The food is good but on the last day I decided to just go somewhere else and pay out of my pocket as this was just too much hassle for a holiday.
I really dig their rolls/croissants and salad bar. A lot of times, I just get a lot of fruit like oranges, etc from their salad bar. Their sandwiches are really good too. The only downside is that theyre always busy and its very hard to find a seat, so I usually end-up taking it to go.
They have juicy burgers made just how you like it, they also have a lot of food options as well , they have some sort of buffet like but is totally different they weight the food depending on the (lb) thats how much you are paying. I dont think you are allowed to serve yourself multiple times like a regular buffet i think is only once which sucks but overall is great.
What a little gem, just a few steps from the Empire State building. Best bagel Ive ever had - cranberry multi-grain with walnut honey raisin cream cheese on a cold NYC morning was fantastic. There is a ton of choice both freshly prepared, via a self serve buffet as well as grab and go snacks and drinks. Theres a seating area upstairs. You even get the New Yorker attitude ;-). Only thing missing is a couple of highchairs!
The food choices are extremely plentiful here. The hot food is hit or miss but always fresh looking. The sandwiches and paninis and other food is always fresh and abundantly available. This is a great spot for the person who is not sure what they want. Service is always friendly and quick.
I used to go here everyday after work before I get on my Express bus. It was super hot today. I wanted to buy a big bottle of water had no cash so I tried to use my Visa bank card. I was told to buy more stuff because they had a card minimum. No recognition for coming daily and overlook the minimum amount so I brought my business to Pax next door. Good bye. I will never come here again.
I’m sure the food in here is great, but me and my mom decided to order a couple of coffee and the staff were so rude, the table had a lot of sticky stuff and I got it on my hands so I asked for the bathroom code, that’s on the receipt, but the cashier did not gave us one so I went downstairs to ask for some paper towels and the woman so rudely just said for costumers only and walked away. Terrible
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!Nothing to complain about the food, but a bit pricey. They advertise FREE WIFI but are only interested in your business once and not repeat business as you cant get free wifi after your first visit. They expect you to buy their food, give your email address and then let you have 30 minutes free. Next time they want to charge you.Such a dreadful business thinking! Use their competitors as they all offer unrestricted free wifi.
I had to review this place as this is the 2nd time i had a bad experience.i got the chicken noodle soup and got bread next to it and apparently they are not free and the free bread that comes with it are crackers that should be given by the cashier which i will say is a bit rude and nonchalant. While i am paying she already took the next person. Also, the soup is bland and tasteless.
So disappointed that this place is owned and employed by the same people who had the last store in this spot. They are not friendly at all and the sandwiches are OVERPRICED! I ordered whole wheat toast with eggs and spinach, thats it, no meat, no cheese and the charged me $7!!!!!!!!!! Ridiculous!! Everyone in my office gave them a chance but they always come back disappointed. Although I work right around the corner I rather walk to 7th avenue and grab a bite from the 24/7 “Bread and Butter” spot.
Im giving one star just because i cant give 0. They lured customers with free wifi. Wifi was not theirs, I had to use publicly available spectrum wifi, only availabe for 30 mins as it is a free trial, which did not even work. On top of that, the bathroom was disgusting and toilet was clogged...
It is an enormous deli. I severely regretted getting my streetfood waffle from around the corner (we came in here for the seating and to meet up with more people in our group); this is like, deli paradise, with every schmear and smoothie under the sun. Also an enormous upstairs seating area!
This business will discriminate against you if you have a disability (VIDEO ATTACHED). I didnt notify the New York State attorney Generals office about this but figured I would warn the general public to spare anyone embarrassment in the meantime. On October 11 I came in with my medically trained service animal who was properly vested and and employee by the name of Kim told me I need to immediately leave the store because no animals were allowed. I explained to him that my dog was a service animal and he told me I needed to leave regardless. After I refuse to let him kick me out he pretended to call the police as a scare tactic to get me to leave. I told him I would be happy to wait for the police to arrive and then he stopped his charade.
I did enjoy the variety of food choices,When I was their it was after 8 pm n the Food was still coming out Fresh,Hot n Steamy. They weigh your Food n thats how they charge you... However once I went upstairs to sit down n eat w a friénd..Im sorry but it was Dirty n their were No tables Avail. All Tables were Filthy,8n8n nvrFloor was Gross Sticky n their Were 6pk emty beer bottles left on about 5 tables..No one around to Clean Up tables....Also u guys charge way too much..The place up the block that I go to is like much Cleaner.n Cheaper...Sorry but I only Tell Truth....
Maybe I came in at a wrong time but I saw about 4 people confront the dude at the deli section for incorrectly preparing their order. I was the fifth. Maybe there is a communication issue between the cooks and the one who takes the order, but how do you mess up 5 orders in a row?
I am karsang, a Law student who used to work there night time as a parttime cashier. Recent I got fired cause of my medical leave I took as I met up with an accident on 34st Macy’s on my way to work.Today, it’s thanksgiving day which I planned sitting with my parents for dinner outside. I received a call from the owner Mr lee, time exactly 3:26pm. He threatened me stating that I had been giving bad reviews and when I talk nicely to the boss saying I m karsang. He threatened me, he will call every owner where ever I work, stating not to give me a job. I was shocked. I felt for some minute what the hell he is talking. Now I realize my rights. Here is boss, I m ready. I respect u, you have urs rights and I do under the states law. If u feel I had disrespect u, plz there is court. I know my civil rights and we will meet up there. Plz, don’t ever threatened me. I am not a joke nor I want to waste my time. After his call, this was the msg I left for him.
IF YOU ARE A TOURIST DO NOT PURCHASE HERE!!! THEY ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!! Preying on those who do not understand what their money is supposed to afford them. PRICES ON BOARD DO NOT MATCH UP WITH CASHIER. No longer a grab and go place, but another midtown expense. Sad to see it go.
My second time being there, one of them were being a wise guy because I was on the phone and I already told him what I wanted, he began to be sarcastic with me and I wasnt in the mood to tell him off so I kept my cool and he just came up with a price of $10 for a small chicken wrap, never going there again, Fork & Spoon has better service and prices than them.
I like here.I came here several times. The last time,I ate and drank food in here. When I went back home.My body is very cold.I even can’t sleep.I don’t know what happen?then I see police information,if this happen can call police. If anybody has same me experience can call police help.

2022-06-20This place is AWESOME! The food bar is literally so fresh and full of incredible options, including sushi, various salads, salmon, and fresh berries. The food was delicious and reasonably priced at $12.99 per pound. You could eat lunch here multiple days — there are loads of options!

2022-01-25I will NEVER go back to purchase anything from this place. I found an ombré hair in my sushi. HOW DISGUSTING! In the picture is the hair I pulled out from one of my sushi rolls. Absolutely terrible and nasty. Not a sanitary place. I wish I would’ve read the reveries before even going here. YUCK

2021-11-07The places needed cleaning, the food was not fresh, apart fruits and two or three choices of foods which are renewed on the buffet, the prices are extremely expensive, the second floor was dirty with several groups of drunk people who drink alcohol and who buy beer packs and consume them on the second floor and make the atmosphere tense, as if we were in bars

2022-06-03The food is really good. The cashier is rude, she says is her tone of voice but she has to lower it down. The dining area is disgusting, and the bumps go there to use the bathroom and consume drugs. Is overpriced, I been going there for years for the food but I may need to do some changes.

2022-05-26Light, tropical carrot cake was the tables favorite. The sorbets had big refreshing flavors. The chocolate cake was dense and could have use more of the mousse. It was wonderful to people watch and enjoy the sun and shade.A great afternoon spot to enjoy good food and great company. We ordered a few items off their dessert menu and were happy with the variety of sweet treats. A light, tropical carrot cake was the tables favorite. The sorbets had big refreshing flavors.overpriced for the quality of the food. Really the only reason to come here is the ambiance over Bryant Park. For $18 the aperol spritz came in a small plastic cup, very tragic. As others have said, this place is very very overpriced for the quality of the food. 2020-02-10Lots of choices here. The quality of the hot and cold bars largely depends on what time of day you get food. At 5pm for example Ive found it to be acceptable but not very fresh and tasty. At noon its been pretty good. There also sushi and a deli and some other goodies. Beer and wine is sold here too. Its clean with seating upstairs.

2022-03-30I would frequently come to this place to dine upstairs and I was told that I can no longer dine upstairs. I always raved to all of my friends about the place when they were coming to New York. After this experience I will never buy anything or dine there ever again. I felt discriminated against and I will let all of my friends not only the ones of same race but all of my friends know not to ever patronize this establishment. Thanks for the disappointment.

2019-11-11I really enjoyed shopping here. They have a lot of nice food prepared fresh. I did not go upstairs to the seating area, just to the main level to get some food to go. Not sure if its just that its NYC and in order to last as a business you have to have great service, but this place easily deserves 5 stars. I am surprised that it has a 4.1 average on Google. Absolutely recommend!

2022-06-10One of those NYC stores with a little bit of everything. Açaí bowl, cold sandwiches and made to order salads were great. Paninis were ok. Huge hot and cold bar. Also a stir fry station.

2022-07-03Cashier yelled at me for trying to sit in the dining area while my friends were buying coffee. After a discussion, she said I was allowed to stay for 5 minutes. It did not feel welcoming so we went elsewhere. Coffee was subpar. Rude!
