Toast Coffeehouse in other cities:
I went there on weekend morning.I only wanted to sit ouside. It took only 20 mins to get seated which was not bad considering the crowd there. I liked their bloody maria. They make it using jalapeno tequila. The avacado toast was good too.Overall the place is good I liked it
We came on a weekend around 1pm and there was only a 10 min wait to eat inside. There’s screens between booths to provide extra safety and they also have an outdoor tent with two heat lamps. All the staff wore appropriate face coverings. The service was great and the food/drinks came quickly. Love the indoor decor with a circus theme! Your coffee comes in different mug glasses. The BYN French toast was hefty and the berry sauce was wonderful. There was plenty for me take back home. Would recommend! Their menu is extensive!
1st time here. The food was great, the service was excellent and the prices are reasonable. I got an omelet with jalapeño cured bacon, shrimp, avocado and cirratcha sauce. It was absolutely perfect. My wife got French toast with strawberries. Definitely recommend this place for a quick stop.
My go to breakfast spot 😊 Super cute inside, wonderful hard working staff (they are always super busy). Def add yourself to the wait list online before even thinking of heading over there. Love all the hot cocoa bomb variations! Had an issue with a togo order once, but after emailing them, they handled it in a very quick and professional manner. Update: on most recent visit they have a 1hr table limit going 🙃
Overall experience was just okay. The hostess was not around when I first arrived and while there was no one ahead of us we waited a few minutes before she came to the counter to seat us. Waiter was quick to come over to take our drink order then failed to take our food order for over 15 minutes. Waited roughly another 20 minutes or so for our food to come out (we were a party of 2, mid morning on a Tuesday). Food was delicious and portion sizes were good. The aesthetic of the restaurant was run down, the majority of the booth seats and chairs were ripped and dirty looking and it’s March but they still had Christmas decorations up. And while accidents happen, another waitress dropped a glass bottle next to us, no one asked if we were okay despite a few pieces landing in my shoe, and then we were basically pushed out of the way so she could sweep at that point we just left.
Very cool place to stop and get breakfast !Variations of the classics with a great selection of house made creations that will have you wanting to cone every morning .The bowls are very filling and filled with flavor. They used plenty of seasoning so dont be or bring a plain jane palate ! 😀
I came here today with some friends and my experience was so unpleasant that I had to write a review which is my first time doing so. The waiter seemed to not have too much interest in serving us. We ordered a pitcher of champagne for mimosas after pouring 2 glasses it was basically empty and we were told we couldn’t order another until the first was completely finished. There was 3 of us at the table all together. When I asked for another after it was empty our waitress who was an older women wouldn’t get it until asked a second time by someone else at the table and still took a long time to get it. It was practically empty in the place. I under that younger people may not always seem the most appealing to serve but I am a server as well so I understand but to simply be rude and ignore us when asking certain things is uncalled for. I’ve been here before when servers have been excellent but this was just a very unpleasant experience really debating on coming back again.
We found this place and decided to give it a try for brunch. The initial wait was about 30-45 minutes. They gave a link to track your wait time but it told me to download Yelp. Regretfully, I downloaded the app but it still didnt work. Around the 30 minute mark I asked about our status and they offered a high top table, which we took.My wife got a strawberry banana smoothie which I thought tasted pretty artificial while I got a tasty Bloody Mary and a coffee. For meals she got the apple strudel french toast with a side of scrambled eggs; I got blueberry pecan pancakes with a side of home fries. Both were super delicious!About halfway through our meal I got a call from the restaurant saying our table was ready. I made eye contact with the hostess and said we were already seated. So clearly there was miscommunication there and we must have got lucky since that was around the 1+hr mark. Regardless, the service was very good and it was bustling well-designed place. Prices were decent relative to the quantity and quality of food. With an excellent selection on the menu I would enjoy coming back again.Tip: Call ahead or enter their wait-list to reduce your wait.
Well I dont know where to start of the awesome experience... My favorite spot so far in the neighborhood. I just come from Puerto Rico to the neighborhood visiting my grandmother and this place yesterday (06/03/22 ). She ask me if we can have coffee and I search for spot and this comenout. Boomer for it was after 3pm, so it was close. So today she wake up saying she just want breakfast, so we try it again. We are here having a Blast with Jennifer in the bar from the coffee to the 🥑 toast, the smokey skillet and the kreppe. Everyhing is on the point. Well thinking environment it feel so cozy and welcoming. Love it so much Jennifer you Rock! The team is so friendly that it make feel at home. Ok I am going tonstop writting now... lol My grandmom Lidia say thumbs up! Me encanta! 🇵🇷
I had incident similar to a woman on another review. But mine had bits of what I assume is old creamer or bread stuck to the inside of my mug. Who knows? This is before I began to eat. They told the manager and I received one drink free. I didnt want anymore coffee after that. It ruined the experience as I started to see if everything was clean.Food: It was delicious. My favorite was the bklyn toast. Out of this world. The food was good the migos omelette did not have much chorizo. The service: We were seated and waited 15 minutes for menus. I had to ask the hostess because the waiter took a while before arriving at our table. The hostess gave an attitude and said yeah and just proceeded to ignore us. Eventually she just propped all 5 of them next to me. I gave them out to the table. The waitress was friendly at first but she was swamped, no refills, no napkins, no spoons for our coffees. Barely saw her. This is on a Tuesday morning. I cant imagine on weekend. Asked for a refill for someone else at the table never came.I want to return for the food but the customer service was awful. Im going to try another location maybe this just this specific location.
Amazing breakfast! They never disappoint!I usually go to the Patchogue location but this one is a little closer for us, food is just the same. The only complaint I do have is they are a little slow coming over to your table to get your drink order 5-10 minutes which is not ok.There corn beef hash is the ticket here A+++
Long wait order was ready for pickup at 9am it’s 9:40 still waiting during covid pick up daysNow March 2021 ReviewAmazing breakfast! They never disappoint!I usually go to the Patchogue location but this one is a little closer for us, food is just the same. The only complaint I do have is they are a little slow coming over to your table to get your drink order 5-10 minutes which is not ok.There corn beef hash is the ticket here A+++Would dine in!
Nice ambiance. Carnivale themed. Loved the posters and lion tamer chairs. At the moment no liquor license so that was a little disappointing not to be able to have a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. The hash potatoes are DELICIOUS. Eggs were great. My wife had the sweet potato pancakes and crispy bacon. Her bacon was not crispy and the pancakes were dense and not cooked in the middle. She was excited to try them and fell short. She described it as cookie dough. So I guess those who like cookie dough would love the pancakes. Coffee came in assorted mugs. EXCELLENT coffee. Strong. Our server was attentive and very hospitable. Always a smile. All in all, we will be back but my wife is staying away from the pancakes.
My Daughter raved about this place & what a disappointment it was.1st we sign up on their on line wait list which noted a 15-20 minute wait & we would be contacted once seating was available, well that did NOT happen. We waited patiently in our vehicle for approximately 30 minutes then decided to call Only to be told oh yeah just come inWe get seated at the last table where the kitchen garbage cans were visible.I order a Cappuccino and the cup was placed in front of me with a lipstick stain. The waitress was told quietly as to not embarrass anyone and she just said oh really She was told NOT to bring me another one, LIKE REALLY, ESPECIALLY DURING A PANDEMIC, that means incorrect water pressure & temp is being used to wash their dishes.I stayed ONLY for my family, but will NEVER EVER RETURN.
Well first and foremost, they do not have a system in place to deal with a very busy Sunday morning. They tell everyone 25 to 30 mins for a table, but it took over an hour for us to get a table. Plus there really is no place to wait, without breathing down someones neck.. With that said, the food was to die for! The fresh ingredients just explode in your mouth! We will definitely coming back, just a bit earlier next time!
This place is great. Very good food and not the usual either. We had the Reeses PB Pancakes, short stack of Cookie Dough Pancakes, and a Giant Brie and Bacon BLT. The sandwich was bigger than her head but awesome. If youre looking for a little different, definitely recommend this place
Quaint little breakfast spot right near the fire island ferry. Lots of options on the menu. The avocado toast was delicious. Thick whole grain bread with sliced avocado and red onion. Best home fries! Wait staff a little slow. They brought a bagel with no butter or cream cheese so we asked for butter. We had to ask twice and they didnt bring the butter till we finished our meal.. the food and atmosphere was great though, so totally worth it. Would definitely return.
My favorite local brunch spot. Their breakfast and lunch items are largely familiar comfort food items, but prepared in delightfully unfamiliar ways that make the dishes seem new. I have ordered several different dishes from both menus and have never been disappointed. My only complaint (which prevents me from giving 5 stars) is that it is like pulling teeth trying to get refills on my coffee. Most breakfast joints have someone constantly walking around pouring coffee refills. A few times I was never able to get any refill; and I was never able to get more than one refill.
A great place for brunch with friends. portions are very generous, so you will probably have enough to bring home and eat later. service is super quick and staff is friendly. the atmosphere is also great, i think the decor is a lot of fun to look at. i got the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. sometimes its hard for places to pull it off because the chicken ends up too oily/salty/whatever, but they have a great balance here. will be returning! :)
Well, at least there was gluten free and vegan choices, thats one big plus. They were very busy, but thats only a plus for them. We did order pick up and was told approximately 30min. It was more like 45min and there was an item missing. Food lost its warmth by the time I got it. Unfortunately you are forced to tip when ordering online for pickup. I want my tip back.. maybe dining in will have a better experience.
From the steampunk work on the air ducts to the circus posters on the walls. You may have to wait but with the Yelp app, The wait is not that long. I love the Miss Lucy Scramble with a peach tea. I tweak the recipe a little by adding Chorizo and Queso Fresco and it is absolutely delicious to the last bite. They have a pretty big vegan menu as well considering they just started it. Awesome food, great atmosphere, good staff. All around a great place to eat. Have fun come and join them.
This place was lively. The food was good. The service was fine: Not in your face and not absent when we needed it. Portions and quality were fine and the price was reasonable for the foid and service we received. The acoustics were a little off. It was hard to hear the people at my own table due to the background noise...but honestly...its good to see a local joint with customers doing well.Eclectic menu...but you should be able to find something that you like.If not...try something new.
This was a great place to visit. The food and ambiance was really good and casual. Since there were no open tables and we didnt make reservations we chose too site at the bar which was just as nice as a table. The service really fast and friendly. The sangria was top notch delicious. I chose the pomegranate sangria was perfect and my wifes Strawberries Margarita 🍹both were excellent drinks not to weak and not to strong just right for a perfect May Saturday afternoon. I ordered the bacon cheddar burger 🍔 which was perfectly cooked and hit the spot my wifes pork quessadilla was delicious but more than she can handle so she brought some home. The menu had lots of great items which I wanted to try all but will come back again and try something else. Theres outdoor seating and lots of indoor room. Great place to visit....
I ordered take out from Toast twice. Both times my orders were incorrect. My second time ordering, the entire order was wrong. I only realized this until after I got home, so I called the restaurant. Instead of speaking to a manager directly, I had to go through a 3rd party who was probably the hostess. She told me that the manager said they could not issue me a refund as the online order was placed through grubhub, so I would have to take it up with them. I then checked my grubhub account and saw that the order did not in fact go through them. Additionally, the charge on my credit card account was listed as “toast restaurant.” I disputed the charge with my credit card company and after several phone calls, I was finally able to get a refund.I will NEVER be ordering from this restaurant again. Inexcusable and irresponsible behavior by the manager and just terrible costumer service overall.
My husband and I had our breakfast date here. I ordered the Tennessee sweet potato waffle and chicken. (Absolutely delicious) My husband had Brooklyn French toast stuffed with NY cheese cake with turkey bacon. (Amazingly scrumptious) Oh yeah they have this honey butter....omg makes you wanna slap yo Momma. Pomegranate mimosa was definitely on point. Portions are enough for 2 ppl and the prices are very reasonable. This is definitely the New brunch spot. I love it here😋😊
The food was good but the service was absolutely trash. The women came over 3 time the whole time we were there and I had to flag down other servers because she was just so absent. I dont know if she was just helping out but I saw her behind the bar alot making drinks and talking more then she was actually serving. Overall 32/100
As a customer who frequents this restaurant more than one time a week, the wait times have been horrific unless during a time of day when people don’t usually go to restaurants. Their app gives grossly inaccurate wait times. Stated 45-50 min wait time and we waited 90 minutes. They don’t manage their patrons who sit at tables well beyond what is acceptable during high traffic times. Super disappointed that a restaurant with great food has not been able to sort out their processes to deliver an enjoyable dining experience. Even if you reserve your time in advance be prepared to wait twice the amount of time.
The food was fine, and the service was friendly. Losing a star because the wait time for our food was really long. I get that it was a Sunday morning, but we were there at 9 and didnt leave until after 11, and while the food was good, I wouldnt say it was worth the wait. Definitely worth checking out, but not if time is a factor here.
Came to Toast with high hopes, thinking this would be a fun breakfast spot to take my boyfriend to during his last day visiting. We had a 25 minute wait AFTER our waitlist spot wait (waited 45 minutes total for a table). While I was waiting on the bench, an employee stood a foot away from me (no social distancing) while unloading pick up orders, and didnt even acknowledge I was there, taking up over half the bench. The waitstaff other than this was nice, and apologetic about the wait. When we were finally seated and got the food, it was mediocre, as was their coffee. They also served my boyfriend potatoes that were bitter and tasted as if they had gone bad, and so he wasnt able to eat half of his meal. I told the waitress about it, and kindly explained that she should definitely let the kitchen know about this. They charged us full price after serving rotten food. Really disappointed, would not recommend.
The food and service is wonderful and I enjoy having breakfast and lunch dates at Toast CoffeehouseBUT yesterday, in 88 degree heat, on an outside dining area that faces west without trees, they did not have any umbrellas for shade. When I asked if we could get one, I was told they don’t have them any longer. How do they expect people to use that area in the summer? I have sunburn today from it. Go to PATCHOGUE location instead: they have a lovely tent set up in their outdoor area and it is quaint and pleasant.
Atmosphere was really cool but unfortunately my food was gnarly. Dont order the avocado egg scramble. 🤮Hashbrowns were yummy though. Service wasnt the best either. I wish the food I ordered was decent because then it would have made up for the fact that it took over 15 mins for them to take our drink order and then another 15 to 20 mins to take our food order. We had to get someones attention before anyone bothered to ask.
Standard food. Service was good and not and good paced. Music is loud and its a weird mixture from Italian heavy metal euro song contest winner to calm 80s pop classics. Giving it a 3 star review because its a standard place to eat. Probably 4 stars if they could just turn the music down a notch or two. Am I turning into a grumpy old man? Probably.
I rarely review. I drove a little over an hour. It was a packed house, 45 min wait time and another 45 for the food and no brisket. The bar at this point is high. The long Island ice tea was straight alcohol. The food was mediocre and Im being dilpomatic. Its dissapointing as I eat out a lot in search of good tasting food.
We reserved online and were told it would be a 25 min wait. We show up 25 min later and we still had to wait about 45 minutes.I ordered a veggie omelette and all the veggies (zucchini, mushrooms, etc) were completely raw even though I specifically requested them to be well done. Also the filling to egg ratio was completely off. I only took a few bites but there was just so much raw veggies, it ruined my taste buds for the rest of the day
Love this place it has great food abs it’s perfect for Saturday’s or Sundays and maybe even the weekday. Overall its a restaurant for breakfast/ brunch for the family and all but this review was when you were allowed to eat inside not outdoor dinning.Update:This was my favorite place.. until yesterday Valentine’s Day, when I ordered the exactly same thing the “Pecan Crusted Stuffed French Toast” which tasted so good last week I needed it again but it was so dry I thought I ordered the wrong thing lol it wasn’t even stuffed, it was plain just plain French toast with pecans on it. This update is for ordering out, dining in still a 4/5.
Cool new breakfast / brunch spot in Bay Shore. Neat interior design with great food. The Jonny Cakes were amazing. Fluffy inside with that perfect crispy exterior. Only hiccup was the milk for my coffee was spoiled. Not great for a coffee house to not be on top of their milk best by date. They replaced it right away though.
Extremely upset with my experience here today. After joining the waitlist online and waiting for 45 minutes, I showed up and there was a huge line out the door. Finally after getting inside, we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes. Everyone was crammed inside, the hosts seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. We were told we had to wait outside, in the rain, as more people were allowed to pile inside. No regards for any covid regulations. After waiting 20 minutes, we went back inside and were told we had to wait another 30 minutes. Is this a joke? This restaurant is run AWFULLY. Why join a wait list to be told i have to wait ANOTHER 50 minutes??? And cramming people in a tiny waiting area during a pandemic. HORRIBLE.
My husband and I went into Toast for lunch on 4/09/2021. I wanted to eat here ever since it opened because I heared good comments on the food. OMG to my surprise I was disappointed. We went in and was greeted at the door. We were seated and was given the menu. That was it, literally no one came back to our table to take our order or even offered us a glass of water. We sat there for anywhere between 5 to 9mins minutes before we decided to get up and leave. While we were leaving my husband told them that the customer service here was disappointing and they should do better. No one came and serve us and we saw more customers came in after us. They got their drinks and order placed before us. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR GO BACK THERE.
Absolutely horrible service! But if you have the patience then the chef deserves ALL the props! It all started horrible from the beginning; called to see if they were busy and received and attitude on the phone. When sitting down to order waitress did not know anything on the menu and was unable to answer ANY questions to the point where she had to send over another waitress who knew less!!! To top it all off saw the waitress twice in the span of 2 1/2 hours and couldn’t even inform me the kitchen was closing, then took 30 minutes to give me the check. Best of luck to what waitress you get!!
One of our fave BREAKFAST/BRUNCH places. Pleasant staff. Kid friendly. Great vegan selection (Im not vegan but I do meatless days on a regular basis) . My top three go-to dishes: Splendid Benedict, Huevos Migas omelet, Miss Lucys Tortilla Scramble. VEGAN FAVE: Mt. SHASTA Scramble. My top Coffee beverage: Dulce De Leche Cappuccino. SUGGESTION: join the wait list online on busy weekends.
Food was amazing! I had the Domingo Burrito. It was spicy and flavorful. Service was fast and efficient. Our server Jesse was great. He was very pleasant and was always checking in to see how we were doing. Overall a very enjoyable brunch experience! Will definitely be back again soon.
This place gets it. So many different options and each one more delicious than the last. They have a chicken mushroom goat cheese wrap that you can get with fries or substitute in a Greek salad and it is absolutely delicious. Their breakfast options are also fantastic. Would highly recommend the corned beef hash. Beyond pleasant wait staff, they all come across as genuinely nice and accommodating. Really like this spot, and go frequently.
The food and service was great! My only complaint is that our table was near a back door and people kept coming in and out so it was very cold. Half my family had to keep their jackets on the entire meal! It should really be an exit only and not have people walking through the entire restaurant to get to the front anyways. or at least put a heater/curtain to keep the cold out.
First time visit this past Sunday in the chaos of Sunday brunch, but the food was YUM and everyone liked what they ordered. The brunch mimosa options were nice, but not amazing. Portions were HUGE and even our kids ate a lot. Service could have been better for sure, but hey, it was Sunday brunch, the place was jumpin and we were a table of 8. They DID honor our call-ahead which was FANtastic. Definitely would go back.
The food was delicious!!! The service was 5 star!!! Jenna you are the BEST!!! Toast Coffeehouse of Bay Shore is my fave!!! Absolutely perfect for people with dietary needs...great gluten free and vegan menus along with the regular foodie delights!!! The breakfasts are scrumptious and lunchtime is mouthwatering!!😀🥳
Had a lovely brunch recently at Toast. Such a cute place that has a great feel to it. The menu offers something for everyone and their portions are very generous! I love the coffee mugs, such a small detail, but its a very cute one, no two are the same and nice and big. I had an egg dish, I cant remember the name, but everything was delicious!
Want to try it for breakfast this past Columbus Day (yesterday). Made reservation online and was told it would be 20mins. Arrived within 10mins, parked, paid for parking and called to ask if we should wait outside or we should wait in the car and theyd call us when they were ready (steady wind driven rainy weather). Receptionist said shed call and to wait in the car and its about 10-20mins. Waited in the car for 30mins (now 45mins from the time we made the online reservation), we called to get an update on how much longer she est. the wait would be and where we were on the list. Girl on the phone says 30-45 minutes. when asked why would she tell us 20mins, and then a half hour later say its 30-45mins, her answer was people arent getting up from their tables. Meanwhile, during our wait we watched a steady stream of people in and out, so they were absolutely turning the tables and not honoring the reservationsAbsolutely frustrated that we spent 45mins and parking $ to be told that our total wait would end up being 1.5hrs for breakfast.... we left. The old adage -Have a good experience, youll tell 1-2 peopleHave a bad one, youll tell everyone wholl listenUnfortunate. Weve been wanting to try the place for a while and finally had the opportunity.
Very POOR SERVICE. Ate outside in the hot sun. We realized later our table was the only one without an umbrella. I asked the waitress for straws. She said OK but never brought them. We got soup as a prelude to our meal. I noticed it was taking a long time. I thought to myself I hope they dont bring everything together, and sure enough thats what they did. I rushed to eat the soup so my entree wouldnt get cold. I proceeded to eat my pancakes without a knife because the waitress wouldnt come to our table to see how we were doing. The WORST service Ive received. Based on this experience I WONT be returning
The wait was not that long and the atmosphere was good. The most enjoyable part about eating there besides the food was my waitress Elizabeth. She was very kind, patient and was able to take care of our needs even when we wanted to make changes at the last minute. I will definitely feel that this place is an amazing place to get some great tasting breakfast and amazing serivce.
Deliciousness!!!! Best brunch place the Ive been to. They will need to make their restaurant bigger cause more and more people are spreading the word. Cant wait to go again. Ive already told all my friends and family about the delicious food and the drinks are on point!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I sent my daughter and friend there for a brunch, how embarrassing to hear that not only the waitress was very rude but they Also found a roach crawling on one of their chairs, how disgusting is that? You need a terminator to clean up the place and you need a friendly customer service. We love your food but a cleaner place and friendly personnel will make it even better
This place is so good. Glad they put one closer west. The food here is just amazing. The drinks are strong. And the service is good, even though they get very busy for brunch. The wait can b extremely long but can also be worth the wait. You do have to pay very little to park bc its a village but just pay attention to the signs
Omg what can I say .. it took me a while to try the spot .. when I did I was amazed I love the decor like a carnival and the food is absolutely amazing ive been a repeat costumer for some time now .. I love to bring Friends that havent been here because it always a great experience. The staff is amazing as well.. ive been to patchogue and bay shore locations but are equally Awsome
The food is priced the same as ihop but tastes far superior. Taste really home made authentic and doesnt skimp on the flavor. The decor however is highly unpleasant but the food makes you stay. If you get toast, make sure to ask for butter as they dont initially serve it. I didnt have time but also try to ask for warm butter otherwise it will be cold. Decor reminds me of a old timey hick town meant for circus townies for the 30s.
So delicious! Ive been to Toast twice now. Each time the wait was pretty long, but it was definitely worth it! They have a link on their website so you can put yourself on n the list before you arrive and that was a big help. Todays special was Peach Cobbler French Toast and it was divine!
Tastes like from farm to table freshness. Big portion and the best hot coffee. Friendly staff but just a tad pushy. They wanted to take my plate twice and had to tell them no twice. Problem parking in the lot. Had to park down the street with a handicapped elderly woman, even though it was pretty empty inside the restaurant. Maybe a To-Go order would be best - with hit coffee.
We ate here a couple times the food is good if you dont mind waiting to be seated.... Dont be fooled by the wait list online. When I got there was told would still be 15 minutes. Person came in after not on waiting list was told the same amount of time. Service is not great
Excellent place to grab breakfast. The food is good and the service was excellent. I had my lunch there and the fries were done rigt. The burger is good. 1 star off due to very confusing parking sign. 4 people were debating about the parking sign pay or free at currently time.
Place is always over crowded ... way over priced for the quality of the food. i ordered two scrambled eggs, the most simple thing you could get and there were pieces of peppers , black burned pieces of god knows what and the eggs were burned brown! if you can’t get scrambled eggs right i have no hope for it
Id give this place a 10 out of 10 any day. After multiple visits, I have never been dissapointed. All of their restaurants have this great decor, and such friendly attentive staff. Its so nice to be in a restaurant where the whole staff seems excited to be there. And the menu is out of this world. Do yourself a favor and check them out. No matter if its the new Bayshore location, or the Patchogue and Port Jeff locations, you will not be let down. Now, the only downfall, is theres usually a wait. You can however check in ahead of time on their website to save some good time. Hope you all enjoy as much as I do!!
So we drove 2 hours on our way to fire island. We walked into this place to eat and the place closes at 3 and we arrived at 2:07. The white young girl asks me if we have appt. if not, they can’t serve us! An hour before this place closes and you cannot serve us. Not sure if it was racial or not but do not go here if you are black.
Ive been to many brunch places and this one is the best so far. Omelets are tasty, potato hash is flavorful and yummy. Multigrain toast is yummy too. The chicken and waffles are delicious. Still crispy but chicken is not oily. Fresh fruit ontop give it a freshness. Cant wait to go back! The only complaint is that i wish they used larger plates. The generous portions are carefully piled and theres not a lot of room to maneuver.
I have been hoping for a high quality, comfortable breakfast and lunch spot in downtown Bay Shore for years (the Forum diner falls way short, and I love diners), so I was excited when I learned that Toast was coming to town. In the last week I had lunch and breakfast there and in each case I would describe the experience as a let down. For the most part the quality of the food was very good, though my girlfriend really didnt like the french toast special she had this morning. Luckily the portions are generous so I gave her half of my pancakes. The two dishes I had were delicious but for us that is only a fraction of what needs to be delivered for the dining experience to be nice. I have had disappointing meals with great service and I will be eager to go back to give them another shot, but if the service falls short, Im less likely to return. On my first visit, I was by myself and there were only a few other patrons in the restaurant, still, we all had to make an effort to get service as most of the staff were occupied in conversation with each other, or friends or otherwise occupied. It didnt convey a feeling of the customer comes first. This morning the staff was just overwhelmed by a near full restaurant. We had to ask for a few things twice, our server disappeared right after serving my tea which was not properly hot and I eventually had to flag someone down to ask for cream again by which time, my tea was merely warm. I would be willing to overlook a couple of mistakes if I felt that there was a real professional commitment to putting the customer first, but I just didnt get that feeling. It doesnt help that while a few of the staff were wearing Toast t-shirts, most were just dressed however and at times it was difficult to tell who was staff and who wasnt as I was trying to flag someone down. The restaurant was mostly full and we were seated at a high top table by the bar/counter. Immediately we both felt overwhelmed by the loudness of the crowd and the music. We love music including rock, but it was just too hard and loud for anything but evening revelry and certainly not appropriate for breakfast or lunch in this open and acoustically unpleasant space. The diners had to compete with the music and the crowd to be heard at their tables and its just not a comfortable setting. Maybe some sound absorbing materials would calm it down a bit, but I am not likely to return based solely on how unpleasant it was on the ears to be there. We both let out a sigh of relief when exiting the restaurant and our ears could once again relax. In fact, after our breakfast we stopped at the gas station to fill the tank and my girlfriend commented that the music playing in the gas station was a much better choice. Funny and true.If I were to go again, I would try sitting in the alcove on the landing away from the main dining area and I would try to get a seat where I wouldnt be able to see the Bermuda Triangle of restaurant spaces which was a cringe-a-thon/ disaster waiting to happen scene. This is the hallway and stairs where two separate dining areas meet which happens to be the ingress and egress for the two dining areas, the kitchen, the restrooms, the bar/counter area (coming out blind to the kitchen by the way and vice versa) and did I mention the server POS terminals and what I think was a busing station are there as well. Luckily while we were there, only a few collisions occurred, but Id be willing to bet that there is more drama there on a regular basis. If management reads this, I hope you consider some changes to make the dining experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Im also hopeful that Toast will prove to be a long term, quality mainstay for the area, bucking the bad luck this location seems to have had in the past. If not, no worries, we can always meet at the gas station for a few egg sandwiches and some nice music and leave with full stomachs and tanks of gas.
Ive tried Toast at both the Bayshore & Patchogue locations, and found that both are just ok. The coffee & food specials are good, but tend to come out luke warm. I found the breakfasts tend to be a bit pricey. The service is ok, I always feel like they arent attentive enough. I have found that I have to wait & flag someone down if I need anything, I have never had a server automatically come back to the table to ask if I needed something. The chairs at Toast in Bayshore are horrible, especially if you have more junk in your trunk. The Bayshore location is a 1/4 the size of Patchogue it was very busy on a Tues. so I could only imagine what it would be like on a weekend morning.
I absolutely love this place. I went there for the first time yesterday to catch up with an old friend. It was so awesome! I love the ambience and the warm vibe/feelings you get from toast here in Bayshore. Everything was delicious and their coffees are amazing. Thank you for a great and delicious experience.Cant wait to come back again!
Let me start off like this ... This is my fourth time eating at Toast. Yesterday was the worst experienceEver . In Bayshore location .The waiter was so unprofessionalThe clear cups that they use for water was so dirty also the tea cups was chipped anyone could cut they lips. The food came out the kitchen cold . Worst Experience ever . I will never go back to the in Bayshore.. Patchogue have’s a better cook in staff ...
Nowhere near as good as the Toast in Patchogue. They have table right next to the open kitchen. All we could hear was blaring kitchen music and clanking. Constant foot traffic right behind us. They served me a cappuccino that was half empty and saw nothing wrong with it. They replaced it but saw it when they put it down and just apologized that it wasnt full, but nothing was done about it until we actually complained. The food is the same as Patchogue and the wait is just as long. There is no point in visiting this location. To be honest, I am so disappointed; I wont return to any of the Toast Coffehouses out of principle.

2021-12-18My new favorite breakfast spot! My sister and I ate here for the first time today. Food was delicious and plentiful - we couldnt finish. Staff was really nice and prompt. I got the sausage gravy and biscuits which came with poached eggs and home fries, my sister got a breakfast burrito, and we split a short stack of banana walnut pancakes. Honestly the BEST pancakes Ive had in forever. We WILL be back 😀

2022-02-16Do you ever wish you could go eat but not have to wait on their service to even notice you after being seated, and then to have to wave over “not our waitress” to get the very kind bartender who took our order.. to then get our server who didn’t know we had just had our orders already taken…When I finally got my food there was a hair in it which ment I had to wait longer for my food…. Definitely made me rethink paying 20$ on French toast and coffeeMaybe I would share the eggs and toast my sister got but still not worth the $Have to say tho the best iced coffee I’ve seen and really tastey Berry compote 👏🏼

2021-11-30A good vibe and Heavy Duty Portions.Food: 4/5 - There are a lot of interesting menu options but for me the portions are very big. Thats a turnoff because I feel like Im wasting it. But thats not a knock on the quality of the food -- Its very tasty. I just wish it was smaller. Their Coffee is fantastic!! Served in nice cups.Service: 4/5 - After many visits I havent had a bad experience. The service is usually friendly and attentive.Atmosphere: 4/5 - Really nice setup. Fireplace keeps you warm if youre lucky enough to sit near it. The booths seem spaced too far apart. Thats good if everyone in your party is humongous. But if not, you feel like theres a lot of room between you and the table and theres not much you can do about it. If you slide the table closer to you, the other person is way too far way. On Weekends the crowds can grow.Cleanliness: 4/5 - Not bad. Bathroom needs a bit of work but overall its in good shape. Wiped my finger in an inconspicuous area and there was dust.Value: 4/5 - Some items are a little pricey but given the amount of food its a good value.Parking: 5/5 - There is plenty of lot parking nearby. The one closest is paid parking but its a short walk to free parking which is just past the paid one. Nice little walk past a water-way.Overall: 4/5 - I visit periodically, especially if Im able to not on the weekend. Its not as crowded. I will certainly be back.

2021-12-06I live around the corner from Toast Coffeehouse and my daughter and I decided to try it for the first time. We didnt want to order it for delivery and didnt want to dine in so we opted to place an order for pick-up. My daughter went in and placed our order for the Delancey Omelet. Huevos migas omelet, Brooklyn stuffed French toast and short stack of pancakes. Upon getting back in the car my daughter seemed bothered and described how she literally had to seek out someone to take her order. That she was treated like she was invisible as she stood there and only after she sought out someone was her order taken. When she returned to pick up the food the treatment she received only confirmed that perhaps her skin tone played a part in the lack of customer service. The hostess literally looked at her and avoided any communication. The person at the bar had to tell the hostess that our food and by the way the only pick up order had been sitting on the window sill. Upon paying for the order which was over $50 there was an audacity to request a tip, for what?.The food however was quote amazingly delicious and the portions were large. The omelets were stuffed and the potatoes well seasoned. Unfortunately and although the food was definitely something to write home about. The customer service was horrendous and offensive and for that I rated this place a 3 star. Good food is hard to come by and I applauded Toast Coffeehouse but equally good customer service is even harder to come by and for me holds more weight than anything I taste.

2022-02-12Went to Toast Coffeehouse today for Pre-Valentines Breakfast with some friends. Drive all the way from Hempstead to the Bay Shore location as some friends have it great reviews! It was 7 of us in total & everything was delicious & tasty. Kathy our hostess was attentive & the atmosphere was relaxing & nice. We had the peach & cranberry mimosa pitchers. I had the HUEVOS MIGAS OMELET-which has Chorizo sausage, tomato, green pepper, onion & jalapeno Havarti. It came with home fries & toast. Absolutely will be back!! Keep up the great work!

2021-11-04My husband and I had our breakfast date here.

2022-05-13Had my baby shower here. We were told the space could comfortably fit 30 people. This was not the case and there were not even enough tables and chairs set up. We were told we could come a half hour early to set up and they werent ready. Giving my sister only 10 min to set up. They also had to keep getting into a cabinet where I was sitting to get wine. I barely got to speak to all my guest because I couldnt get around the room. However the food was excellent. I wouldnt have another event here but I will still come to enjoy the food.
