The most amazing tapas I’ve had in all of NYC! The croquetas, pan con tomate, pulpo, and tortille de betanzos were incredibly rich and well seasoned. The croquetas, especially, melted in my mouth and was a table favorite! The patatas bravas were good as well, not as crispy as expected but still tasted great. The paella was definitely the star of the show: this is a must-get if you ever come! All in all, the food was beyond delicious and the staff/service was incredibly kind. You’ll have to come here if you want the best tapas in town.
My favorite Spanish restaurant in NYC by far, and I’ve been to almost all. Terrific staff and delicious food. A few of my favorites are the pulpo (octopus), tortilla de Betanzos, lamb chops, pimientos de padrón (shishito peppers) and croquetas. The best dessert is the tarta de Santiago. You’ll see/hear many Spanish people there, which is always a good sign for authenticity.
A little bit of Spain in Little Italy in NYC...made us feel like we were on our normal summer holidays to Europe rather than a trip to the US. This food was delicious...was good to see padron peppers on a menu in the US! Sit at the bar and order as many dishes as you can (great wine/beer selection too)
Very nice tapas exactly what we want (in contrast to many other tapas in nyc but mostly serving big dishes).About dishes:Our favorite was the charcoal grilled baby-back rib. It had very rich BBQ flavor close to the Uyghur style lamb on screwer or Patagonia style grilled lamb. The sauce was made of tomato, olive oil and maybe lemon juice and paprika too, for offsetting the greasy feeling. Sausage was redundant in my mind as this preserved food had enough salt to destroy my kidney. The salad was a surprise. Decided at the very end as we would have some greens. The flavor was balanced just right. The crispy pulled pork would be better if the chef was more generous. Thought it’s just deep fried pork skin at beginning, although tasty. The squid rice had very rich squid flavor (in the right way). Portion was perfect for 2 ppl to share along with other 4 dishes we ordered.Octopus was very juice although I would say it’s excellent if salt was lighter.Croquetas tasted like fried corn chowder. I would skip it if could get rid out one.About service:Water was always added when my glass was almost empty but they wouldn’t bother us for asking everything okay, which I really liked personally (particularly when chewing food). But we found out at the end that other tables came after us got served bread, maybe we got there too early (at 5)? Or the waiter felt we had ordered too much for 2 ladies? Regardless, no bread.
The croquettes were amazing but the lobster rice thing was crazy salty and my friend and I couldn’t finish that. I went to other Spanish restaurant before and definitely 🥘 there was perfectly seasoned. Overall, I feel like I need to go there again to make sure if the saltiness was an one time accident or what, but for now 3 stars no more.
Num ñum tapas and Galician region of Spain tapas, great octopus and jam and cheeses. Flight of Albariño wines for pairing was perfect. Friendly Spaniard hosts and staff. We sat at bar on a lazy Saturday and dreamed of being in a small Atlantic coast fishing village at the end of the world in Galicia… dreamy.
I’ve been a plenty of times to this place and everything is amazing, incredibly tasteful food, the service is outstanding and honestly, the attitude of everyone from the staff is my favorite part, they make you feel welcome and are super attentive. Highly recommended. Do not sleep on the croquetas, order half and half and trust me, you won’t regret it.
Loved this place, the wait staff were super knowledgeable, I mean possibly one of the best in town. You most try the scallops, 2 words YUM MY ( ok 1 word splitting yummy up doesnt work) if you like Gin they have a bunch of Gin drinks. If your are not a fan They have other mix cocktails and wines.
We visited Spain 2 years ago and miss their food so much. We were impressed to find a similar taste from Tomino Taberna Gallega with great quality and reasonable price. We tried their Baby Back Ribs, Baby Squid and Shrimp to share with a group of two. Everything was delicious, especially the squid, grilled perfectly, soft and juicy. The shrimp was flavorful, appetizing and tasted the best with the complimentary bread.
On a busy Sat night they held my reservation. The bar and dining room were packed with youthful locals and uptown Castilian debutantes. The atmosphere was vibrant and the staff was courteous helpful and professional. We tried eight or nine of their top dishes and none of them failed to please. As a Galician Prince in exile I know what of I speak.
Had an absolutely amazing time and a great meal. I went by myself because my friend was working and so happy I did because I made great friends! The food was INCREDIBLE especially if you enjoy sea food. The beer was excellent and the staff were so happy to hang out with me and help me practice my Spanish. I got a picture of Mañuel, and Carlos was also wonderful, new friends for life!
Great spot. Went there during happy hour- the give small plates with drinks. I had white sangria, a red sangria and coffee and all them were delicious. Empanadas was really good, too. Service at the bar was great. Its a friendly spot. Ill definitely go back for a meal.
Originally chose this place because it is on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list and boy did it deliver. Great drinks and dinner had with good friends reuniting for the first time since weve all been vaccinated. Everything we ordered was top notch especially the ribs, pan tomate and croquets. A real knockout. Service was friendly and swift and all at a decent price for what we received. We will be returning
A great new must-go restaurant in NOHO/Chinatown area. I went there for a lunch and totally surprised by their food, service and prices.Food: absolutely fresh cooked and tasty, be patient for they to cook. I tried the squid, clams, pork sausage, salad and the almond cake, everything was well-made.Service: full of nice and energetic young men working there. Feel the ambition in here.Prices: not expansive for those portion dishes. Their tapas arent really small like in Spain....They have full meal menu and wide selection of drinks.I like the decor becoz they put a lot of design but I didnt take pic except the last course.Remember, its been full for every weekends now!!!
Finally the best Spanish Ive tried in NYC. Very authentic. What I liked the most was the croquetas and the octopus. Very good gallego bread and they have Estrella Galicia, excellent Spanish beer and difficult to find this side of the Atlantic. Try as well the padrón pepers. The venue is nice and the staff very friendly. You may be lucky and meet the owner, we did in the evening. Recommended.
My friends had been raving about this place for a while, so we decided to head on over for dinner there on a Thursday night. I made a 6 pm reservation with Open Table. We got there a bit early and the place was pretty empty, including the bar area (by the way, happy hour is only at the bar). Halfway through our meal is when the restaurant started filling up.We ordered a bottle of vino, and six different tapas to share:Chorizos al Infierno - this had a bit too much smoky flavor for me, probably because it was literally served to us on fire. Its a very nice presentation thoughChurrasco con Chimichurri (charcoal grilled Iberian baby-back ribs, chimichurri) - there wasnt much meat on this but the flavor was great. I especially liked the tartness of the chimichurriFritura de Chipirón (crispy baby squid, stringed zucchini & potato, basil alioli) - the crispy squid was very good. Ive never had a basil alioli before so it was a nice change of pace from the typical garlic aliolis you would get. The zucchini was a bit oily.Mixta (half cured meats/half cheese) - I remember there being chorizo and jamon but I cant remember anything else. Either way, you really cannot go wrong with a meat and cheese board.Huevos Rotos con Zorza (spiced-pork loin, crispy potatoes & free-range eggs) - this was my favorite dish of the night. It felt more like a brunch dish, but Im definitely not complaining about that. Whats not to like? Pork? Good. Crispy potatoes? Good. Eggs? Good! It is a tad on the saltier side though. I almost wish there were more potatoes instead of pork.Pulpo a Fiera (sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, pimentón) - this was another favorite of the night. The octopus was nice and tender, and was not overly salty like most of the other dishes we had.Overall, Id say I have mixed feelings about this place. I really loved half of the dishes but the other half was kind of just meh. I would probably only come back if I was in the area, its during happy hour, and order a few select dishes as a snack.
Good food, awesome service, beautiful decoration but pretty noisy place. Theyve tried to bring Galicia to NYC and almost succeed. The octopus is delicious, their best dish. The empanadillas are really bad, dont confuse with empanadas which were good. The Chuleta is a delicious piece of meat, typical from Galicia, ask for rare as they overcooked significantly our meat. Portions arent the Galicia style which should be generous, instead they do really small tapas, indeed most of us were hungry by the end of dinner. Overall a decent restaurant. Bread was terrific and theyve got a good wine list. Last, theyve tried to reinvent tarta de Santiago with not much success for our groups opinion.
Tomiño is one of my favorite spots in NYC. I’ve been there four times and I’m never disappointed. Their service always makes for a great experience and the food is authentic and delicious. Few places in the city have pintxos, but come for happy hour and you can pick one for each drink you get. They have great plates for sharing — everything from traditional tapas to bigger dinner servings. Try the Pulpo á Feria (grilled octopus) or Tortilla de Betanzos. The bar (and bartender) is excellent. They make great cocktails, sangria, and for those who love a good cold Estrella like they have in Spain, it’s on tap. This is a must visit.
If you want to be spoiled by amazing staff while served delicious food, stop by to Tomiño... NOW! This place is such a delightful little gem.Lately, I’ve been to many places where service and food leave a lot to be desired, and being here really felt like a breath of fresh air.The food was absolutely tasty, and very filling. It seems like it isn’t a lot but trust me it is a lot. We got two orders of the empanadillas, and they were so crunchy yet soft but big. The chorizo had a nice kick of spice to it, very tasty. The pulpo was nicely grilled and seasoned. They also had a great selection of Spanish wines. The service was outstanding, our waiter was absolutely helpful and attentive. He had quite a few tables seated and still managed to give everyone great service. At one point my friend wasn’t sure of which wine to have, and selected one, but the waiter decided he wanted to give him a tasting of two wines he thought he would like before he committed to anything, excellent customer service on his behalf. The manager, also a delight. He stopped by to check on us as well, and asked for feedback, it’s always great when management is checking in. Also, his joy was contagious, you could just tell through his eyes he had a big smile on his face at all times. When we left he expressed gratitude and made us feel so warm and sad to be leaving.I absolutely recommend this spot! You’ll be sure to enjoy the delightful staff and food!!
Great Spanish restaurant in nyc. I recently discovered this place and I am very happy with the food! The octopus is a must, Spanish style! Also the meat is amazing but don’t forget the tortilla patata, so tasty and good!Good wine selection, with many Spanish bottles. Price is good for the very high quality you get, very recommended!
I am Spanish, half Galician and I totally approve of this place. The food was great, you should absolutely try the octopus! The grilled mushrooms where super nice too! The runny omelette its also totally worth it. We were also positively surprised by the wine, Pitacum. I didnt know about it and in spite of being one of the cheapest in the wine list,it was amazing, probably the best bang from your back in the area.On the down side, the black rice was the only thing not up to pair, and the padrón pepers, but to be fair, they are out season now :)
Wonderful unexpected surprise. Tomiño opened five months ago without any fuss and Sietsemas January review did little to ignite. Authentic Galician tapas restaurant quietly nestled in the heart of Little Italy. The bar and counter seating is relaxed, high tops by the window perfect for watching the world go by, rear dining room casual elegant. Creative well executed cocktails and Spanish only wine list. Chorizos al Infierno paired with Tortilla de Betanzos, Vieiras a la Gallega, Mushroom Goats cheese dish all noteworthy.
I’m no expert, but I’ve been to Galicia in Spain, and had dinner here with someone born and raised in Galicia...the food here was authentic and really good! You could go here for a glass of wine and some tapas or bring a large group and share several dishes. Great experience
Im from Spain and this felt like tasting a bit of home. Great place, waiters are really friendly, the decoration and ambient is great, cooks are great and food is good. Portions are reasonable, wine is good, but mainly if you are from Spain and miss having a proper gin-tonic, make sure to order one. Things to improve: wine-by-the-glass should be served at the table and the pulpo a la gallega is missing its cachelos!! Its not huge, so make sure to make a reservation. I see a great future to this place!
Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and absolutely loved everything we ordered here! We got the octopus, grilled mushrooms, the tortilla and black squid ink rice, also a warm sponge cake for dessert. Being tapas, the portions were bigger than I thought - I was so full at the end of the dinner. Would definitely come back again!
This place is amazing. The food is really, really good, especially the “Octopus a freira”. But, really, everything tasted great. I lived in Madrid and went to several Galician resto there and I can confirm this one is on par or even better. The interior design is amazing and the service super welcoming and gentle. One of my new favs in NYC.
True Galicia on Grand StreetAs good a Spanish (Galician actually) restaurant as I have ever been to outside of Spain. And I have been to many. No fusion - truly Galician, and healthy racione-sized portions with great quality and outstanding service...a treasure for NYC.
A pincho (a small bite of cheese, meats or Spanish omelette on a piece of bread) with your happy hour drink $6 to $8 until 7pm! Whats not to like?! Then, we had plates of tapas. From chorizo to pulpo (octopus) and to beans and beef tripe, every bite was delicious. A Galician friend took us there, and he and his family come here often, so the place is authentic. Felt like I was back in Spain. So good!
Good authentic spanish food. Good place to try a lot of different things and share their tapas and small plates. I’d recommend the croquetas, pulpo and empanada of the day. Tortilla de Betanzos is a must you shouldn’t miss: just like a regular tortilla de patatas but with runny eggs inside! Also try Estrella Galicia beer, one of the best beers in the world!Easy to book a table, we’ll probably repeat anytime soon!
This is a pretty all around ideal restaurant. On our last visit, the food was phenomenal, service was great, ambiance was nice, and after all that, the total meal price for 2 people with multiple drinks, was under $150; surprisingly reasonable for high quality food in lower Manhattan.
I personally enjoyed the tapas more than their entree. The baby squid/ octopus is soft and tender. I enjoyed this dish a lot. They did a good job with the zucchini. The ibercio ham - you cant go wrong with this. The only downside was whoever cut / prep it didnt do so well. The croquettes were average. I felt like thr goat cheese was weak in flavor. The ham and cheese, the wife liked it but I didnt think there was much flavor to it.The entree - the seafood rice dish. This was underwhelming. I am not sure what flavor they are achieving here.Ambience is very inviting.
Incredible dining experience. Tomino is a wonderful little place on the cusp of little Italy (Grand St.)that will delight your tastebuds. The owner and staff were wonderful, and food and wine were excellent. From Tapas to entrees to dessert a true joy. Find this place on your next trip to Manhattan.
My company took us to dinner here for our first group dinner post-covid (which was the first one for most of the team). Its incredible, reasonably priced, and the service was top notch. I recommend splitting everything that looks good. Save room for dessert, or you will be sorry.
No question that the food is what makes this place an amazing choice for lunch or dinner but everything else around it is also very nice! The bar is beautiful and their wine list is quite good - fair prices and good wines. The main dinning room is very charming with a ceiling window that floods the place with natural light. Service was good - although our food took a little too long to be served compared to other tables around us. The setas - mushrooms- were probably the most unexpected surprise: it’s delish!
This was one of the best dining experiences Ive had in a long time. The staff are really nice and prompt without being overbearing. The ambience was pleasant (good date night spot)! The music was fun and upbeat, but not too loud. The sangria was really refreshing - a good way to start the experience. Id definitely like to try one of their cocktails though, but we opted for the pitcher of sangria and Im not mad at that decision (4.5 glasses per pitcher). The food was outstanding.Pulpo - Amazing. Simply delicious.Omlette - filling and and nice runny egg.Sardines - not fishy at all and seasoned well. The cornbread is sweet with raisins, so just FYI.Mushroom salad - interesting and in a good way. Unusual flavors that paired well with each other.Make a reservation as the place gets packed.
The staff was super attentive, the food was very good, you can share small tapas plates for the table in youre a big party. The ambiance was nice and vibrant. We had a really good time!In terms of specific dishes: the croquetas and pulpo were my favorite, the pimientos de padrón are a classic.
Excellent food from Galizia and Spain. Good service, nice drinks and appealing atmosphere, even now that we are under CDC restrictions. Victor the owner and host is very friendly and makes you feel at home. He recommended an outstanding and fairly price Albariño which we enjoyed. We had the fig salad, the octopus a feira, croquettes, mixed grill of carabineros and cigalas, patatas bravas and tarta de Santiago. A true banquet. Then my girlfriend fell in love with a wine glass with a traditional Horreo depicted on it and Victor explained what an horreo is (a raised stone structure to store grains and food in the farm, to keep it away from critters and humidity) and told her to take it as a gift. We are coming back for sure, i want to try the Chuletón de Vaca Vieja...
Tomiño did not disappoint! The service was good and the food came out in a timely manner. What stands out is the quality of food especially the pork-- the Raxo was exceptional- so tender and flavorful. The batter on the chipirones was delicious. Traditional Galician food is not overly seasoned- the product itself should be the star and Tomiño accomplishes this. The filloas (crepes) and ice cream were fabulous. Overall, a good experience.
Let me start by saying that service is very important to me and due to the waiters attitude (Jonathan S), I will never go back to Tomiño. Business owners dont realize how important it is to have a polite, well-trained staff. The guy was sarcastic throughout my stay and had a nasty, careless attitude. I centipede fell in my water and I almost swallowed it. He literally said it fell from the sky, it was not in the water. He took the glass in a rude manner and never came back with another glass of water.Sorry Tomiño I dont recommend your restaurant!!!

2022-05-16Tapas for big groups and value for money, considering the portions and amount of seafood dishes we ordered. Pictures reflect the dishes I enjoyed. The iberico pork was bomb - so tender and flavorful. The lobster rice dish was amazing, but so huge its honestly for more than 2 unless you both dont wish to order anything else. Also, dont dice right into it when the dish is served; the consistency and flavor gets thicker after it sits for a little. Youre also likely better off ordering wine instead of cocktails, which were pretty diluted in flavor.

2022-04-03I went to this tapas restaurant for a birthday dinner, and it was such a wonderful experience! Everything was so delicious. I didn’t have a single dish I didn’t enjoy. The grilled mushrooms, tortilla, and croquettes were especially amazing. I don’t know how they did it, but the croquettes were smooth, soft, and pillowy on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Highly recommend this place; I’ll definitely be back.

2022-03-18Great services and delicious foods👍 Recommended the seafood dishes, we enjoyed eating sliced bread with the sauces! Staffs friendly introduced the menu, service water. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively, we need to speak loudly to each other, but still happy and spent time there! The location was convenient too, we took metro and had a small walk. Can definitely visit again for sure~

2022-06-05Great Spanish food and tapas! The jamon, croquetas and octopus were great! Definitely worth trying the paella style lobster. The drink are very nice and large too!Recommended for an aperitif (only drinks and few snacks to share - although a little expensive), or a very casual/informal midday date.

2021-12-28Great food and wonderful service!Their paella is really big and delicious, I would recommend 3-4 people to share the dish while it says for 2 people.Their octopus is really also fresh and soft! The fired jalapeño is a little spicy, but it’s a good appetizer to share.Overall a recommended Spanish restaurant here!

2022-07-28I highly recommend this Galician restaurant, and I think it’s top tier compare to other Spanish restaurants I have been. They have a more extensive selection of sea food, and octopus, oh gosh, octopus. The octopus is the tenderest I ever had, compare to those other places that made hard and overcooked octopus, the octopus here is tender as baby soft. Zamburiñas and Cigalas are also well cooked. And mushrooms…as a meat lover somehow I fall in love with their mushrooms. Smoky with cream and chewy. The price isn’t expensive at all given the quality of food. Two people eating till fully filled with some even to go would be around $150. I think it definitely is one of the worthy place to go.

2022-04-20More like 4.5 stars. Awesome food and good portions. Would recommend 2 entrees per person to share family style. Gin drink was a bit too juicy for me

2022-01-26First time having Galician cuisine, and boy was it a delight. All the tapas I had were great, but I was a little disappointed Arroz Caldoso--even after letting it cool so more of the flavor came through, it was still somewhat bland compared to the other dishes. Personal favorite dish was the parrillada de setas; I will come back to eat here just for this dish, it was that good! The service was also friendly, timely and accommodating.

2022-06-14A truly amazing experience. This restaurant is a pearl in Manhattan. A spanish Gallego restaurant, serving tapas, fish, meat. I tried some tapas and they all very delicious and very well prepared. The presentation of the different tapas is very pleasant. Flavors are reach but light at the same time. I loved the service: the staff is extremely polite and pays attention to every single detail to make your experience unique, all of this without being intrusive. There is clearly a very strong leadership and training behind as well as a very healthy and serene atmosphere. Well done! Highly recommended

2022-05-12Excellent paella, pulpo, and croquettas. The tortilla was well done. The pulpo is a must! It was nicely seasoned, tender, and meaty. The Tomahawk steak was perfectly salted. Excellent service and recommendations from the server were 👌🏼.
