Great place to get fresh sushi at reasonable price. I’ve been going to this cozy restaurant since 2010. They still offer great quality sushi at affordable price. I always get their sushi deluxe, which is $35 for 10 pieces of sushi and two sushi rolls, and comes with either miso soup or salad. Only downside is that they don’t take reservation because of the limited seating, so wait time is usually quite long, could be an hour during peak dinner time. They only take Amex or cash.
Tomoe is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Greenwich Village. The inside is relatively small and there is usually a wait on the weekends but it’s well worth it! Friendly staff and delicious food. The pieces of sashimi are huge! The ribs fall off the bone. I love the spicy mustard the ribs come with too. Can’t say enough great things about Tomoe.FYI: They only accept cash or AMEX.
I don’t know what the hype is, I was recommend by an acquaintance & this sushi was like mashed up baby food. The taste was fine just regular sushi but the texture of our fish in our rolls was like mashed up. The Spicy tuna Tar Tar had a nice sauce but again the texture. Perhaps we didn’t order the correct thing.
So, this is supposed to be (one of) the best Sushi restaurants in New York? Well, we HAD to try it when we spent a long weekend in the city. The restaurant itself does not appear fancy or overly attractive from the outside at all. We got here during the break between lunch (til 3 p.m.) and dinner (from 5 p.m.) and met some of the staff outside. We asked about reservations and were told that they took no reservations (anymore). Well, since we knew from other reviews, that being early helps getting a table so we returned just on time, shortly after their opening at 5 p.m. and the room was already full. The inside of the restaurant is as spectacular as a post office - not at all. It is comfortable though, and appears to follow Japanese plain style. There are only 8 or 10 tables, if I counted right, most of them for 2 persons. The walls are full of self written posters.Ive been to a lot of Japanese restaurants, and some of the best turned out to be hyped mediocre restaurants only. I was expecting good food though after seeing them work behind the counter. The fish they were using seemed to be fresh, other ingredients as well. All Sushi was rolled/ cut/ prepared manually and with precision...We ordered Sashimi Salad (Sake) and Ebi Tempura for starters and their Sushi menu with Miso Soup. The fish (salad) was perfectly seasoned with only a little bit of soy sauce, the tempura was traditional (not sweetened, not greasy) and the Sushi they brought us indeed one of the best Ive ever had. The fish was tender and extremely tasty, the rice with the typical, discreet taste of vinegar and the Wasabi brought me to tears (in a positive way!). Yes, this was definitively among the best Sushi I ever had.本当に旨い寿司、たぶん 一番の寿司だった。
Excellent Sushi !!! This is by far the best I had under $50 per person. The fish are very fresh. The portion is big, and the cuts are big too. Sashimi Deluxe is enough for 2 people with some appetizers. Service is attentive. Decor is very simple, yet clean. I am not here for the Masa decor. The only complaint I have, which is totally personal, is the pungent flavor of wasabi could be stronger. So if you like wasabi, ask for more.
Best of the best Sushi and Sashimi restaurant in town, I had been waited to get the que once but it is too long to wait so now this time had a chance to try. We ordered Sushi Lunch Set (7 Pieces and 3 rolls) and Sashimi Set. Really impressed, fish is really big while small pieces of Japanese rice so does not make you too full to enjoy more. We also ordered tempura set $11 it is also really. Will be back for sure, noted that they only accept cash or Amex.
Been meaning to try this place out for over a decade and had a free Friday night to do it. I was eating solo, so the wait was not too long, but there is a wait. I think it took about 15 minutes on a Friday night after 8 to get a seat at the bar. It probably has 8 or 9 tables and would not recommend for a group larger than 4. I had the sashimi and the fish was fresh and came with a good amount of it. They started with a small amount of seasoned bean sprouts and my sashimi entree came with a choice of miso soup or salad. I went with the soup and it was pretty standard fare miso soup. The sashimi came with a side of rice and some daikon also. Would return if I had a hankering for sushi.
First time here and I had the regular sashimi dinner (12 pieces). From the taste of the miso soup to the bowl of brown rice, I knew I came to the right place. My first piece of fish confirmed my impressions. There was a good length line but since I came alone, I got a bar seat immediately. Cash and AmEx only.
*Rude staff*Sushi was not terrible but temp wasn’t good, didn’t taste fresh at all but still edible.A lady staff member served my table, nothing special, didn’t have any good impression of her service at all but still tipped 20%.But what happened was they only accept AMEX or cash so I had to pay in cash but i didn’t have enough cash to tip as generously as I usually do(i alway tip 20%), and the lady complained that my tip wasn’t enough — I apologized and told her that i didn’t have enough cash, she asked if I had Venmo, so I had to venmo her tip haha which was fine for me.But she brought her iphone and showed me her Venmo page, asking “is this you?”, to make sure if i really had tipped. This was obnoxious. Her service was nothing special, if anything it was on the low side. I don’t think i will go back here again, the sushi wasn’t that good anyway.
Really good. Waiter was really friendly this time. Fresh tasting sashimi - tuna was particularly good (you can order fish-only sashimi if you don’t like clams, squid., etc.)This was on Thursday evening. Wait time for a table of 3 was about 15 min. You can order sake in line. Only take Amex or cash.
Coziest sushi place in the city. The decoration inside was so homey. Very kind and nice servers. Their service made the whole experience very pleasant. The food is also very good! Also, even though they are a sushi restaurant, their ramen is one of the best for its (relatively) low price in this area.
I came Tomoe Sushi for lunchtime today. The door was closed and I saw a note that said “Tomoe Sushi is permanently closed.” I am shocked and cannot believe this is true. Sooo sad since my family has been eating here for over 25 years. Tomoe is my favorite Japanese restaurant. Now it no longer exists. Hope everything is okay with the owners and employees. Thank you for the delicious food over the years and good luck!
I havent been here in years because I live in CT now. My daughter treated me to a day in the city for my belated Mothers Day celebration so it was my choice to have lunch here. They NEVER disappoint! The portions are ginormous to say the least & EVERYTHING was absolutely DELICIOUS! Im definitely going back...sooner than later! I HIGHLY recommend this diamond in the rough!
Best sushi in the area and you get the most for your money. Excellent staff too—they made my boyfriends birthday so special even during covid, and we cant wait to go back. I had been here a couple times before and loved it, but this time I really saw the value in the meal. Such wonderful service.
Fantastic fish. Had the deluxe sushi, which was definitely a good size for one person. A bit on the expensive side, especially for the portions, but the fish was well prepared and delicious. The place is crowded, but it is a cool environment. The service is fast. Pictured is the Sushi Deluxe and Sushi Regular side by side.
Great little sushi joint pretty popular with the locals. Perfect as a weekday casual dinner option where the sushi cuts are generous and very fresh. Waiting in line is a standard part of this place. If you want to avoid the lines, definitely get there before the open and wait a little bit....its better for your body to eat earlier anyhow :).
Still my go-to joint for sushi. The fish quality is outstanding, and the line is worth enduring for whatever dark arts transform salmon and tuna into luscious ribbons of velvety heaven. The uni is not what it used to be, which I suspect is a supply issue, but still quite enjoyable. The hotate may cause your eyes to roll back in your head. No frills, great value, simple preparation. Tip: skip everything else on the menu and go straight to the fish
Fresh sushi like no where else. The place is small and deliver authentic, basic layout and dining rituals. There meeting has a lot to offer though most people still to order one of these pre-designed combination plates. The combination is generous and less expensive than anywhere else if this quality. Staff are kind. We were there on a Friday at 9 pm and had to wait for about an hour in line to get in. Pay attention to the payment restrictions as they are or it the ordinary.
Off all the many Japanese restaurants Ive tried in New York City, Tomoe Sushi is one of my favorites. I really love the chicken teriyaki. They got it perfected. The California rolls are huge and absolutely delicious too. Its a very small restaurant and theres almost always a line forming the weekend evenings. For Friday to Sunday, to have a short wait on line, the best time to get there is about 6 PM.
Excellent quality and fresh seafood!!!The place is tiny with no frills but the food is what makes the wonderful experience. The first time I came here and tried the basic California roll, uni (urchin) and sashimi I was blown away. I loved how the California roll was prepared making it light in texture - the best ever. The uni was sweet with not a hint of funny after taste. Every single time Ive been here the quality has been consistent. Ive been on line for over half hour or more and I never regret it.
You simply cannot get better sushi than Tomoe, not at any price. The portions of fish are very generous and the quality is outstanding! Gyoza and fried oysters were excellent. I think I can sit there all day and try everything on the menu without disappointment! If you dont mind a kitschy, no frills atmosphere, dont go anywhere else! You could very well pay triple the price at a fancier place but you cant eat atmosphere! They open at 1, close at 3, then reopen. Lines can get long. Best bet for lunch is to arrive 12:30 and hedge, but there seemed to be a lull around 2:15.
Im hesitant to recommend this place because honestly I dont want to see any more people here. The sushi is great, and well worth the wait. Dont come if you need your sushi deep fried or stuffed with cream cheese or some kind of fruit; go someplace else, you wont appreciate this or the price point.Tomoe specializes in quality fish in atop expertly prepared rice. They also have great izakaya style appetizers.
Best authentic Japanese on all of New York hands down. Hole in the wall with no decor but serves the freshest and biggest pieces of sashimi that will melt in your mouth. Go early or be prepared to wait at least an hour or longer for a seat. Restaurant seats only 35 including the sushi bar.
This was my go-to for more than 20 years. I went tonight for the first time in over a year and couldnt stop thinking What happened? Fish quality is not good. Salmon and tuna both tasted like a soaked tissue. Uni was good. Traditional cooked dishes were also good but the price to value multiple is out of whack. Doubt I will return.
The freshness of the ingredients has fallen. I ate fried tofu udon and the taste of fried tofu was strange. The fried tofu felt old and a little tricked. It also affected the taste of udon soup. Its a short thought to waste your spoiled ingredients. You must give it up boldly. Nevertheless, there are still many customers in line. You must stand in line for at least an hour.
This is the best place for Sushi and sea food in New York. Simply as that. In my whole years in New York, I don’t think I had something as good as their food. And everything is delicious and so fresh. They do offer kind of different things like some kind of squid soup and other sea food. But if you will stick to the sushi, the sea bass (in all variations), you will be happy at the end, and know that you just had a great experience.Simple place, with hard working people. Just make it better the way I see it ;)
You want it, we can make it was what I was told as I accidentally tried to order a scallion hand roll. Proof that, however bizarre your request, this authentic sushi joint will tried to accommodate. Really great value sushi in the centre of NYC - will definitely be back! 7ushi/10
Tomoe is a local not so hidden gem. Fish is as fresh as it gets and are served in generous slices over a small quantity of rice. Rice is cooked to perfection and prices are very reasonable.Worth noting that the waiting list is a line outside the restaurant and decoration is very basic. Overall, great local experience.
This little Japanese joint has really tasty, fresh sushi! They dont take reservations so you must go early otherwise be prepared to wait. Last time I went they only took Amex... not sure if thats been changed. Service is decent however because of the long line outside most likely youll have to leave pretty soon after you finish your meal. Id still highly recommend this place for quality sushi!
For some reason, I recalled Tomoe as a good sushi place. The place has a line in front of the door and you wait quite a. It to be seated. However , I was deeply disappointed with the sushi and sashimi order i gave . There was literally a tuna mash in my sashimi plate alongside with uncooked calamari and shrimp . Thats definitely not sushi deluxe which is worth 41 dollars. I am definitely disappointed by the food and will not be back and cant recommend the food for anyone as there are really good sushi restaurants in Manhattan
It was a Saturday afternoon and I hadnt seen my friend in a couple of years. We settled on a sushi placed recommended by a Japanese friend. We wanted something yummy, affordable and generous with portions. We arrived around 4:45 pm and there was about an eight person line already. There was no sign in sheet, so we just waited in line.At 5 the doors opened and a hostess started to let people in.The space was not big, it was cozy; typical for the area. By the time we sat down there were no empty seats. We were given the menu and my friend ordered sake. Im not a drinker, so Ill have to take her word for it that it was very good. There were quite a few choices on the drinks menu for a variety of sake.Their portions, we were told, were generous, so we decided to split a Deluxe sashimi entree, which consisted of 3 yellowtail, 3 tuna rolls, 2 salmon, 1 shrimp, 2 different fish roe rolls, 1 egg and I think 4 other rolls. In the meantime, we decided to try Spicy Toro (I cant remember the exact name, but its the fatty tuna belly). It reminded me a bit of a paté, but with a lot more texture, in a hot sauce. It was delicious. My friend loves shellfish, I generally avoid it (ironic, because I love sushi), so she took the one shrimp roll and I took all the roe, which I loved. In a fairly short order a creeping suspicion entered our palates: the wasabi had to be the real deal, not the dyed horseradish commonly served in many sushi places. Having some eastern European roots, Im fairly unfazed by the direct kick in the teeth from the horseradish, but this real wasabi snuck in and, in a typical Japanese manner, delivered an impressive subtle impact despite a modest amount I used. My sinuses took a bit to recover from this new encounter, but asked for more nontheless. We decided to get a roll each after cleaning the deluxe platter clean. I got fried salmon skin with cucumber and she got spicy tuna. Mine was not like a typical greasy thing that I had tried in other places. It was satisfyingly fatty, with a calm and pleasant flavor. It came in 4 pieces. Hers was spicy and it was 6 smaller rolls. We tried each others rolls. Frankly, they were so good, I could have eaten both of them myself. For dessert we split the special: mango pudding. It came on a platter with mango slices and whipped cream. The pudding was made of icecream, on top of some wafer/cracker and covered with a mango deliciousness. The most impressive part for me was how fresh the raw fish was. It was absolutely delicious. The wait staff were very attentive without being overwhelming and our water glasses were refilled often, in the most unobtrusive way, remarkable, considering how packed and busy it was.The bill showed us that the place was extremely affordable, by NYC standards. 1 appetizer, 1 drink, deluxe platter, 2 regular rolls came out to a bit over $80 without tip. I thought it was worth every penny.I suspect that the only drawback here, and we plan to come back, is figuring out how to avoid waiting too long to get it.We spent about an hour and a half there, and I think we just got lucky. A weekday visit might prove interesting as well.
I don’t know what secret they hide, but they must have the best sea food in Manhattan New York. Amazing: Sushi rolls, Salmon teriyaki, you know what, everything is amazing. Everything is so fresh, that I suspect they keep the fish alive in the kitchen, or they go fish them every morning :)If you come on Saturday or Sunday, be prepared to wait. But trust me, they the place worth it.
I wouldnt go anywhere else for sushi. This is a cozy, homey Japanese restaurant serving mainly sushi but also some home-style Japanese dishes that are all delicious. Each sushi is more or less $6 and HUGE. The rice is cooked just right with the perfect amount of vinegar with the generous piece of fish over it.. amazing. They serve beer and sake too. Cash or Amex only. It gets packed quickly so come right when they open!
After watching Jiro sushi, this was the closest sushi joint with the best reviewed food and service. When we got there, there was a short wait and it looked promising. The sushi was good but I am not sure about freshness. I like that they have a big menu with lots of hot dishes. The chefs and staff are not Japanese I think, but why does that matter?

Best bang for your buck upper grade sushi. Bigger than your perfect piece, this is a no frills or thrills sushi spot. They also have many delish and affordable fish and non fish appetizers. This isnt your fancy date spot, but if quality is more important than ambience, then this is your spot. Ps- cash and Amex only.
For flavor, freshness and consistency Tomoe is the industry standard! Best sushi I have ever had! Do not expect an impressive decor, I have actually been seated next to strangers on a bench but I was so happy to be seated after standing in line, outside, in the rain that I didnt complain. Tomoe has no idea what the concept of service is! I honestly dont care! I go to Tomoe for great sushi!
Big sanitary problems. A giant cockroach fell on an empty table. We were shocked (we had already finished our food). The waitress picked the cockroach with a napkin and 2 minutes later was having people sitting down without even wiping the table. We demanded that they cleaned it and finally they did with a wet towel. Then as we were leaving we found another giant cockroach under our table right by the kitchen. The staff didnt apologize and didnt seem concerned. Do as you wish, we are never going back. Cockroach sushi? No, thanks.
Very, very good fish. Top quality and very affordable. Go for lunch, or get there as soon as it opens for dinner, otherwise you will surely be waiting for a table. Lunch specials are excellent. $19 for a large plate of superb fish, rice and soup. Why may I ask though did they get a B rating for their sanitary inspection?? Come on Tomoe
Tomoe is hands down the best sushi in NYC. Their rice is always perfect. The fish is fresh. The people are always friendly. You may have to wait, but it will be worth it!!They only take cash or Amex.To the reviewer Sekani French, you are ignorant. Its not China as you put it, Theyre not even Chinese, but ignorance is bliss, and you must be the happiest creature on earth.
This was a very disappointing experience. The Maki rolls are only made from chopped fish and seafood, no actual whole pieces of seafood. The sauces are ok. Underwhelming for the line- I could think of many places to get better sushi. The worst part was the service. The service was slow and inattentive. We asked for our bill multiple times and finally received our bill after a long wait. Even with the poor service experience we gave almost a 15% tip. After walking out we were aggressively chased down the street where one of the servers (who didn’t even serve us) told us that we didn’t tip enough and that we HAD to tip 15%. I asked if it was restaurant policy and if so- why it wasn’t listed anywhere inside their restaurant or on the bill. She replied with saying it was the law in New York to tip 15%. This is a complete lie. And to put it into perspective: the dollar difference was $1 between our tip and the 15%. We got chased down and yelled at over $1. Which restaurant forces you to tip???? If they want 15% tip they should automatically include it on the bill and INFORM their paying customers that they have this policy.
High quality sushi and traditional Japanese dishes in very generous portions. The space is charming but super tightly packed so you might have to drag your bum across the edge of someones meal to get to your seat. They only take cash or AMEX, and theres often a wait for dinner.
The best value in raw fish in New York, if not anywhere. If you weighed the amount of fish you get its probably half the price of any restaurant with anywhere near the quality or freshness. Traditionalists scoff at the size of the pieces, The food here is great, but they give you way too much of it. Thats a criticism I can live with any day. For non-raw fish eaters, their prepared and cooked food is excellent. The seaweed salad, miso soup with baby clams and shrimp shumai are easily the best I have ever eaten. Get there right before they open to avoid a long wait in line. Either way its worth it, otherwise New Yorkers wouldnt stand out in the freezing cold, broiling heat, driving rain and howling wind to eat there when there are literally a dozen other sushi joints within five blocks.
A spendy date night place, great but definitely not a first date type of place. Small restaurant, which implies very busy during peak hours with no expectations of privacy. The service and the sushi are excellent so they definitely pull their weight for the price. There are few great sushi options in NoHo/Village area so pick your battles wisely.
My favorite NYC sushi place. Dont miss the spicy king crab (only available on evenings) and their spicy mapo tofu. Sushi is as good as I had outside of Japan. Only miss is the udon in broth which is mediocre, but who comes here for noodles anyway? Note that they dont take credit cards except amex.
Sadly it has been about 10 years since the last time i was there. As i remember this was very different place all together. I had high expectations and i was excited to take my daughter for dinner. We were on the line at 440pm today, so we were first on the list. We order the chirashi bento box, when it came to the table, our waitress asked placed the bento box down and she walked away. Did not explained what type of fish was included in the box, the fish was sliced too thick and very sloppy and there was a minuscule amount salmon roe. This was not how i remember it. Presentation was very poor and my daughter and i both agreed that none of the fish had flavor. I couldnt tell the difference between salmon and tuna, i was dumbfounded. Yhe audacity of thia restaurant to be providing customers with subpar product, well clearly i will noy bw returning here. Their draft beer system apparently was not working, i ordered a draft beer only to be told that the system was not functioning. Really? The restaurant just open and the waitress had no idea the draft beer is was nott available? On top of that we noticed the NYC SANITATION INSPECTOR on premises, we were on the middle of an early dinner and the inspector was in and out dor another 30 minutes. Refused to have dessert, just a awful experience. Subpar product, the fish was more like a sponge, all you could taste was that the fish had a lot of water probably from being frozen and recycled back and forth.Oddly enough my meal was $35, while my wifes sushimi deluxe $42, the fish she had om her platter actually tasted different than ours. My daughter and i both tasted a piece of salmon from her meal and the fish actually tasted like salmon and it was not spongy and even the color was slightly more orange pink.I believe my experience at the local McDonalds would have been better then to come here and spend $150 on dinner for 3 with no service what so ever and no concern over quality.
This place is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. when I want to go to a proper lunch, this is the place that comes right away to my mind. superb and diverse food and a large list of dishes.helpful team, and nice mood. Also, the pay is affordable. I suggest this spot with no doubt.
Food was good. The neta (fish in sushi that is put on top of bed of rice) is very large. This restaurant is known for this. Miso soup was OK; from three taste I am guessing that the broth was made with preservative-laden powder rather than from scratch. Some of the servers were not Japanese which made ordering in Japanese (or English) a little challenging. The space is small and crampy, sometimes charming. Theyhad on beer on tap, Kirin Ichiban. Reasonably priced sushi, good value.
I have eaten at a number of sushi joints in my time and I must say that this is some good sushi! I am not crazy about the size or decor of the place. I was skeptical at first, but my friend and I both went into it like virgins. We were amazed at the quality of the sushi.
Tomoe deserves four stars (sometimes even five), however something is going on over there and they keep losing their A restaurant rating. Twice during visits in the past year they had a B. I cannot and will not visit an establishment that cant maintain their health ratings.Tomoe is small and quaint, the staff is excellent and like many other sushi places they only accept American Express and Cash. Call ahead as they do partake in the traditional after lunch and before dinner closing.
I would be giving them 5 stars, since the food is really great, but the service damage the experience of visiting Tomo. They have AMAZING sea food, everything we tried was great. Sushi, fish, and everything else. They just need better service and nicer people, and they will be one of the best.
I felt like I was in Japan. Their tuna sashimi and zaru soba (cold noodle) are definitely the best I have ever had. They only take cash so you probably want to prepare at least $250 in cash for a couple.I can’t wait to go back to this place. My wife insists on going back to this place pretty much everyday now lol.
My wife and i went to tomoe sushi and sushi yasuda in the same week and there is a marked difference. the rice at tomoe for the sushi and rolls was actually a bit hard. surprising given that quality sushi is not just about the fish but the rice. the fish itself was good but not great. certainly better than other run of the mill places in the city, but probably worth a rating of 19, maybe 20, for food. large pieces but not necessarily melt in your mouth slices. definitely great value for the cost (wife and i ate for about $70 including tip/tax).
I love this place, my father has gone to it for forty years and Ive gone my whole life. Onto the menu, the teriyaki, I cant describe it. It is the best I have ever had, the sauce is sweet and less thick than generic teriyaki with a fattiness that makes it addictive. The ramen is the best and the most rich vegetable ramen Ive ever had which is incredible seeing that Tomoe is a sushi restaurant. I recommend the chicken teriyaki lunch bowl and the ramen as well as the spicy gyoza, the spare ribs and the enoki mushrooms.
There are many sushi places in NYC, and if you ask anyone, he will tell you that they know the best sushi spot in NYC. Well, I also know one, Tomo sushi is the one! I dont know what they do, or if they bring things from out of the US, but whatever they make is amazing.I have been here like 50 times, on different days, and different hours, and it was always perfect.
The sushi and sashimi here is so good and fresh! The types of fish here Ive only seen in a NYC sushi restaurant so I assume it is coming from Fulton St. It is expensive but completely worth it for sushi connoisseurs. So if you think Minado sushi is really good, you probably should not go here. But if you know what aji horse mackerel or oh toro bluefin tuna then this is the place for you.
Ive been here a number of times in the past, and have always found their sushi to be the freshest in the city. The more recent visit I brought my pregnant wife with me, so we ended up choosing a large number of cooked entrees. Our least favorite was the grilled mackerel sushi, which we both found to be relatively flavorless. We enjoyed the spicy king crab with spicy mayo, and my wife really loved the eel avocado roll. I picked a couple of rolls for myself, and went with the fatty tuna and scallion (Negi-Toro) and spicy mayo scallop, cucumber and fish roe (Spicy Hotate). Both were fantastic!Service was quite good, and one of the waitresses was nice enough to bring a chair out for my wife while we waited on line outside. The place only accepts AMEX or cash, so come prepared.
Lately disappointing. The overall quality has gone down where the cuts are sloppy and the sushi is big. Just because its big doesnt mean its better. This used to be a gem back in the day but Tomoe has relied too much on its earlier reputation and ratings and its become average at best today. Hopefully this is a wake up call.
The real SUSHI Ive ever eaten !!Food was really delicious, and beautiful. Staffs are very kind and they were real Japanese. (Unfortunately, other sushi bars staffs are chinese or korean or something.)Therefore, I definitely recommend to go to this sushi bar if you want to eat real Japanese sushi. To all of people.Thank you, Merci, Arigato !!!
Worst experience ever!I hate wasabi, And it was in every pcs of sushi, as soon as i realized that I told the waitres And her answer was:Where Did You get the sushi From so far?I Found This really mean And unpolite, she was really mean!!So when came the TIME of the TIP i Left 10% which was too much already, And the owner came to And They i sost so much And kind of oblidge us to leave 18% saying that was mandatory - i was with My Family so i did not want argue about it, so as a gentleman I PAID And ill never go back There!!!Federico
TERRIBLE AND REALLY uncomfortable experience here this evening. I went to the restaurant with my two brothers, impatient waitress during ordering, we didnt satisfy with her attitude. What worse was she COUNTED my tips in front of us(we had a 39 bucks bill include tax, we paid 6 dollar for her service even we felt uncomfortable during ordering...
I also swiped my dance card once after an audition, and on a scale of ten, they gave me for dance: TEN, for looks : THREE! -Chorus Line Tomoe is definitely dance ten looks three if you know what I mean. The toro tartare was amazing and melts in your mouth. The spare ribs were also a hit as was the very fresh sushi and chicken skewers. Dont be fooled by the bare furnishings.

2022-02-17Find fantastic fresh sushi in this cozy unassuming joint, with a great selection of fish, including uni (sea urchin) and o-toro (fattiest tuna). Large portions, great staff, affordable prices.

2021-07-08My partner and I came here with someone who lives nearby and is a regular. I can see why! I am no expert, so I just had the California rolls, but she got the sushi deluxe platter and was impressed! We shared the special king crab appetizer and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

2022-03-14Tomoe Sushi has been closed for months, and now a new Sushi place with a similar name has opened at the same location. I don’t understand why Google refuses to update the listing despite many reports informing them of this accompanied by photographic proof.

2020-11-17Best sushi in town. Fresh sushi with great price. Sushi are room temperature not iced. And you can taste the sweetness if uni —proof of the freshness. I had those expensive sushi $300-$500. This one can reach 80-90% quality of those sushi while remaining at an acceptable price range. Yeah. It should be your go to place for sushi. And yeah they have out door dining.

2020-12-17My wife and I go out to Tomoe Sushi on every special occasion. It is not a simple sushi place that you will see opened up all over the city. It is an authentic sushi restaurant where the owner still works the tables and helps wherever he can. There is a lot of love put into this place and amazing service and quality. (Take Out During Covid)Sushi Deluxe: I recommend the sushi deluxe, it is some extremely fresh fish and other nigiri pieces. The quality is amazing and the taste of each piece leaves an unforgettable feeling of wanted more of it. The slices are thick and the rice is nice and soft.Once you had this sushi, you know what quality sushi is compared to any other place around the city. Dont even bother with the menu if you want sushi, just have a seat and order the sushi deluxe.Sea Bass Tsukeyaki: Nicely marinated fish with a side sauce, it is very good and fresh. The taste is not salty or anything like that, it just has that fresh fish quality with a bit of sweetness.Tuna Taro Tar Tar: Whats better the raw tuna massed up? It is basically spicy Negitaro, if you know what that is. It tastes great and if you want to add some rice rice to it, it best adds to the meal. Very good all around.Fried Calamari: Great calamari! I love it, the slices are very thick and worth every bite. The crunch is good, but of course take out will soften it up a bit. I recommend this as a nice snack.Great date spot, great place to just eat Japanese food, and just a wonderful place to go to in general. Of course, it isnt something you can eat everyday and the price is a bit expensive, then again, it is authentic sushi. Worth It!
