Tony Harpers Pizza & Clam Shack in other cities:
First time eating here as we made our annual trip to Old Forge. Pretty sure COVID19 has caused them staffing shortages just as it has everyone else. My guess is they changed their way of serving guests. That being said.....while the food did take some time to come to us, it was not nearly as long as the hour we were told from the bartender. Well the pizzas we ordered were over an hour but other foods were not. It was worth the wait and we really enjoyed our time here. I hope you can get back to what I think your normal staff would look like in the near future.
Nice atmosphere, ok food, good beer. The current ordering system is confusing. Seat yourself, read menu, to order you leave your table to place order at the counter, return to your table. (If someone didn’t take it when you got up). Receive food at table. Want another drink? Get up from table to order at the bar; not the previous counter and not from a server. Return to table. Closing the tab? You don’t just leave you go to the original counter. It’s a bit confusing but when there is not much staff available. It works but took a while to figure out all of the steps.
Waited an hour for our food. Then everything came out but my sons 5 wings. Told the waiter….told a waitress and still nothing 20 minutes later. Had to go inside and tell them inside. Then he got his dinner 30 minutes later. No apologies. Poor service isn’t worth the $90 I spent.
No waitress service except bussing so you have to get up continuously to get food and drink. Order at the counters and the food is delivered. Lots of beer choices but several were out of stock. I ordered a burger and salad which finally arrived with the burger only lukewarm. Salad was limp with many leaf items shriveled and stale. The staff works hard and is very pleasant.
Didnt know this was a bar, doesnt tell you that online. Waited an hour and a half for a pizza and 5 wings. I think it was done way sooner because it was a bit cold and overpriced for what it is. I would consider this another tourist trap and would give it 0 stars if possible
This place is a complete rats nest. The food is just thrown together slop and they hope that the drunks won’t care. You have to order you food at the bar but a server brings you the food but has no idea what she’s even bringing. Sh just hopes that the kitchen didn’t screw up. Plus half of the menu wasn’t available.
Went for lunch and attempted to purchase pizza to pick up for dinner. The food during lunch was great and the bartenders were doing their best early in the season. One poor girl had to look for five minutes just for simple syrup. The young blonde cashier with the RBF was rude and needs some customer service coaching. When we attempted to order pizza the young man didnt seem to have a clue what he was talking about, told us at first 15-20 minutes (for a pizza bro?), then changed it to 30 which sounded more logical. We arrived 40 minutes later just in case it took longer, they hadnt even started it. The brunette waitress was sweet and told us another 20 minutes while the young blonde just looked my girlfriend and I up and down with dirty looks. We came back again (an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered) and a taller man apologized and said 10 more minutes. I rolled my eyes said ok and left, telling my girlfriend F that place and that blonde RBF. We let them finish the pizza to throw out and got pizza down the road, ordered and served within 20 minutes. This was Saturday May 14th, 2022.
We ordered a Broadway-style pepperoni pizza and traditional hand-tossed Fiery Pepperoni pizza (jalapeno and crushed red pepper added). Both were excellent. Sadly, the poutine took a little too long to come to our table. It is listed as a starter, yet it got to our table after the pizzas did. Also, the poutine wasnt very hot, and it could have used more gravy. Very nice atmosphere, and the place is conveniently located.
Our family stopped at Tony Harpers for a quick lunch while shopping in Old Forge. They have excellent Covid-19 protocols in place, which actually made ordering and service even easier. We greatly appreciated Tony Harpers being open with the pandemic challenges in the area. Our lunch was delicious and exactly what we needed. See pictures.
Looked for a Friday night fish fry and Tony Harpers did not disappoint! The mechanics of ordering were a little confusing for a newbie, but the wait staff was friendly and helpful. Food was plentiful and excellent. They even had the Angry Orchard Cider I like on tap - that never happens - its so much better than bottled!
Been here multiple times before and had a pleasant experience every time, until our last visit. Truthfully the fries were good, and the wings looked appetizing, but our pizza was far from that. Pizza came out and was sopping wet with blotchy cheese barely sticking to the bread that had the consistency of wet corn starch. I would love to chalk it up to a bad day but as we were the only customers ordering food at the time, i don’t understand how that would be possible. Really appreciative of the effort these guys put in, but if our pizza will be of similar quality me and my wife agree that the gas station would be more substantial.
This is a great place for reasonably priced food. You can find something for most tastes at this restaurant. They offer gluten free pizza and buns for sandwiches and burgers. The best part is that you find reasonable value here in a resort town. I highly recommend this joint for a meal for a couple of family. We had a salad, cheesesteak, and gluten free hamburger. We didnt ask if the fries were gluten free, its possible they have a separate fryer so ask first.
This was our first time here. We had no idea whether to sit down and they take our order or go to the bar and order. We had to pretty much call dibs on a dirty table. Fortunately, the one lady came and wiped down the table for us. There was 6 of us 3 different table numbers. They screwed up our friends order. Then ours came out correct, but our other friends that ordered first were completely forgotten even though we kind of all ordered the same thing. Thankfully, another girl cleaning tables went and found their food and was super nice. I think there needs to be A LOT more organization or have a waitress seat you and take your order so people arent getting other peoples orders or searching the whole restaurant looking for a table number. On a plus side, the food was delicious. My husband especially loved the clam garlic white wine sauce stuff. If you could sell that in a bottle, he wouldve taken a case of it.
We started with the seasoned clams and got a pot! So delicious! Nice and plump! Next the smokehouse bbq pizza and the city lover pizza. Both were delicious and great toppings! We always stop here after a weekend of camping and do not regret it. The service is wonderful and people are always friendly.
This is a great place for pizza if youve got time. With three small girls, the wait is a little long to sit through (the ONLY reason theyre getting only 4 stars). Luckily theres an open space right next door to run around in while we wait. The pizza is delicious once it comes out! Their wings are mouth-watering too. I havent tried their clams yet, but they havent disappointed me yet!
The food was simply standard fare. From frozen first, heated, served nothing more. It wasnt damaged on cooking, but I could have done it at home for less money. The atmosphere was OK too, not great and enough music with videos to keep you occupied. The staff seemed to be trying but perhaps they were exhausted as this was just after Summer as Old Forge knows it had ended. Post Labor Day. They will have to gear up for the Fall leaf season and Winter recreation. I will try to get back to enjoy the rooftop seating and see how that is.
We placed an order online for pickup. Two of the three pizzas were burnt, so the crust was inedible. All three pizzas were cut unevenly, so one person got a slice that was a quarter of the pizza, while another person had a tiny slice. They did not include dipping sauce that was supposed to come with the order. They did not follow instructions to not cut one of our pizzas. When we tried calling the restaurant to have this reconciled, nobody answered, even though we tried calling 3 different times. I wish I could figure out how to attach pictures because this was an absolute joke. Only positive is their mozzarella cheese was flavorful, and their pepperoni was spicy. It was a waste and we had to find something else to eat.
The food was great. The service was the only complaint. We had to order at the bar and had to flag down servers whenever we needed more drinks or boxes. There was indoor and outdoor seating available and the place was quite busy when we were there, so we understood that the food was a bit slow in coming out.
This place is always busy, not too sure why as the food isnt anything worth writing home about. Service is slow but prices arent that high. One positive is they do have their own flavors and our wings were very good. But the pizza wasnt. This review is after eating here twice.
My family and I were visiting from Vermont, and staying at the Old Forge camping resort. Most reviews pointed us to Tony Harpers when looking for pizza. We ordered 4 pizzas and went off to pick it up.Upon entering the door, I immediately noticed I entered through the wrong door and asked a young lady that was cleaning a table if she could point me to the pick up area for the pizza. She stopped what she was doing and asked me to follow her, which led me to the pick up counter in the back to receive the pizza (Customer service was great, and she had a smile the whole time). We traveled back to the campground and opened the box with delight. The cheese and toppings were ample, and it was nice and hot to eat. We were definitely not disappointed by any means. We love pizza, and have eaten many places in NYC, and New Jersey. This pizza was great tasting and well made.I would recommend Tony Harpers to all for pizza, and sure the rest of the food is great too! We will be back next year on our next camping adventure!
Completely understand that staffing everywhere right now is tough so thats part of the issue for super long wait times. You have to order at the bar which when busy can take forever. We waited nearly 2 hours for food. The pizza that part of our table got was not good. But the rest of us got sandwiches or other meals. They were all good. Not super impressive but good nonetheless. Prices are as expected in a tourist town. Probably would not choose this as my first choice for dinner. Probably would go here for drinks and appetizers if I wasnt pressed for time.
Sadly I hate to write this review. Tonight we ordered food at 605 being told it would take an hour. We didn’t mind and we sat and started having drinks and relaxing. Well hour and half we get first item delivered. We ordered 4 dozen clams, one order came out. And it was cold. Next up others dozen arrive, cold as well. We asked the food runner she responded I can take them and have them heated. Can’t really heat up clams. Well now we sit and wait another full hour and one pizza comes. At this point we are starving two kids in our group starving as well. Pizza is ice cold and missing one of the other pizzas. Well now two hours in we aren’t happy. All food cold. Really doesn’t make sense. Manager credited food and said other pizza would come out. She had no excuse or reason this was happening. Well last pizza ice cold. Brought it right into manager and she felt it, ice cold. I’m sorry, this isn’t acceptable. Praying this is a fluke bad night and we can continue to love Harper’s. Sorry to put a bad review but if this becomes the norm, it’s going to crash and close. Not sure if we will be back but it’s hard to resist visiting Harper’s during our time in Old Forge!! If this was for any reason, closing up is acceptable, poor unexplainable service isn’t acceptable!
My friend and I had dinner there tonight. She ordered steak, and I ordered pizza. My pizza came out 45 minutes later, about 30 minutes after my friend finished her dinner. When I finally inquired about the whereabouts of the pizza, the waitress rudely told me that pizza takes longer than other foods. By the time she finally delivered it, again rudely and with no comments, let alone an apology. I asked her to box we it as we were ready to leave. She brought it out boxed and pretty much tossed it on the table and turned away making a rude noise. Im deeply disturbed about your service staff, and was all in all pretty disgusted with the entire ordeal. Wont be going there or suggesting it to others.
I think a lot of the negative reviews are being a little over critical and insensitive to the current situation that most businesses are in. Between the labor and product shortages, I cant imagine it is easy to be a business owner right now.We arrived on a busy Saturday (there was a parade in town) right around noon. The restaurant was extremely busy, but we still had our food (burger, boneless wings, motz sticks, and clam chowder) within 15 minutes (at most) of ordering. The food was fresh and delicious, and we were impressed with the serving sizes for the price we paid. We were very happy with our visit, and will definitely be back. Our only complaint/confusion was that it was seat yourself and you had to form a line at the bar to order. There was a sign posted at the door that we didnt notice when we first came in which caused us to be extremely confused on what we needed to do. Perhaps more/bigger signage could avoid some confusion, but otherwise, we were very happy with our experience.
Wow! Food & drinks were great and the service was awesome! Wings with a wide variety of sauces, the girl at the bar sold me on the Red, White, & Blue and the Daytona, and they were delicious and perfectly crispy. The Clam Pot of 3 dozen steamers were so good, I just kept popping them in until there was just a pile of shells left. This has become the new regular stop whenever Im in Old Forge!
Pizza was really good. Wings were pretty good. They were out of chowder. Big crowd, huge space. Surprised at the small tap list and the nearly non existent NY craft beer on tap but what they had was good.Service was good and friendly. Bathroom was a bit gross due to an abundance of fruit flies
Waaayyy to busy. I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of orders. We waited over an hour and 15mins for our food. When we got it the fries were cold, the salad had nothing on it that is was supposed to. The wings would have been awesome if they were warm. Dont recommend going when they are busy.
Delicious! Got Leos Favorite pizza and the sauce and crust was out of this world. We also ordered clams and they were delicious. Id give it 5 stars but whoever had control of the music sucked. The same songs played over and over again. And very loud. Guess it wouldnt be so bad but Barbie Girl and Teen Spirit is not the best songs to listen too over and over again
Due to Covid pandemic, service was unique. Every table had a menu and you placed your order at the bar window. Food was excellent and the beers were ice cold. Although service was a little slow, it was a Friday night in July, it was expected. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
I get it. Things are tough during COVID. but we waited two hours for a pizza only to find out they forgot to put in the order. We even asked status twice but no one ever actually checked, until the third time we asked. At least our wings came out - crispy but cold. Service looked better during lunch, so I’d recommend going earlier in the day. If you want dinner here, arrive at like 430.
Amazing wings and thats about it. Last time we ordered pizza, what little crust there was there was completely burnt. There was no sauce and the amount of cheese was ridiculous. We waited over an hour for one pizza. I called the store to make a complaint and there was no answer or call back.
Wait for food took forever! Came around 6, no one was up too at the sky bar, so headed downstairs and ordered at the bar. 45 min later just my dates burger and the app come out. He goes to ask about my pizza and then waitress or “food runner” was rude. It ended up being another 45 min until the pizza came. The food was good but the poor service ruined the experience.
Clam chowder was amazing!! Peel and eat shrimp, not so much. They have plain, garlic or spicy option, went with garlic. Shrimp were super bland and mehhh... So I ended up just tossing them all in my soup which was great, buttttt I was shocked by how blah they initially were
First time we went it was a bit slower, food was fantastic! Wings were crispy and pizza was cooked just right. Last time we went it was much busier and the food suffered as a result. Wings were doggy and pizza was burnt. Id visit again if the line is low, but on busy days im likely to pass in the future
So we went out to old forge for my daughters birthday and heard Tonys was good. It was and was not. We ordered one small pizza that was Luke warm, 2 salads that barely had toppings, the coleslaw was disgusting. Had no flavor. We also ordered 2 burgers with fries and a thing of wings. Those were good. But when I asked for some mayo I got the look of death and a sigh. Wish I didnt give a tip on an almost hundred dollar order. If your sighing at your customers, get a new job. Ive been in customer service my whole working career, that is soooo wrong. I dont care how short staff or busy you are you serve with a happy smile. Thats your job. we pay for your service remember. The atmosphere seemed nice.
Came here for the outdoor seating. Sign says “Grab a table, menu in bucket. We’ll be right out” They need to fix the sign to say “You must order food at the bar” because we sat making eyes at waitresses for 20 minutes until we asked. Told a hour wait but it was 15 min. One pizza was a bit burnt but they were good. Post the instructions please.
Wait time can be a little long even if its its Monday and they dont always remember to pop the bubbles on the pizza. The sky lounge does have real grass and great views though. You might also have to wait for a bartender to take your order since they only had one waitress going.
Absolutely Love this place! Its a must stop everytime Im in town, usually multiple times. Food is great, Love their Clam Chowder and Clam buckets! So many different beers on tap and always rotating to something different. Pizza and sandwiches are excellent. Can sit and play Quick Draw while you eat and watch the games. Always look forward to coming here.
Best wings in the area, pizza was also great with the old-style pepperoni. Staff was friendly even considering the stress from large crowds and clearly being short staffed, They were still timely with the order. A big thank you to all there, cant wait to go back next year
My meal was absolutely TERRIBLE! My side of fries contained maybe a handful of ice cold, mushy fries. My side of cole slaw was initially forgotten and then just grabbed from the refrigerator pre-scooped (I get it, Covid) but was horribly tasteless! The pulled pork was gross. Fatty and bland and the scoop barely covered the roll. But yet the other meal on the table (gluten free pizza) was hot and delicious. The cooks obviously have no clue how to prepare simultaneously. Attempted to find someone to assist me so I could return my meal for something edible and no dining staff to be seen in addition to the ridiculous line of people waiting just like me. (this was before the holiday weekend). Stick to pizza and wings here. Or just go elsewhere!!
So disappointed! We sat inside, as the outside tables were full, and the music was so loud we literally had to yell to hear one another. Despite several employees gathered at the front table, there was no service- seat yourself, find your own menus somewhere (were supposed to be on the table), order your food and drinks at the bar, with a million other people trying to order. Ordered milk for my toddler- all out of milk, ordered a mojito- all out of mint, my husband tried to order a beer, all out of that kind. After waiting approximately 40 min for our food, I went and asked if they knew how much longer it would be and was told not to worry, we’d get it when it’s ready. Food came out about 10-15 min later and the pizzas were so disappointing. They were warm, as if they’d been sitting, and nowhere near worth the wait/hassle. Will not return.
We visit Tony Harpers for dinner each visit to Old Forge. Family friendly and some GF options. Inside or outside dinning. I did not enjoy the changes and ordering at the bar. It was noisy and unpleasant. Service seemed limited but it is in most restaurants. Try the vegan burger!! French fries were all cold and over cooked. Very hard to get the same quality prior to COVID. I hope to try again next year.
The absolute worst cheesesteak sandwich and frozen Bang Bang Shrimp I’ve ever had, tough and grizzly. Chicken wings and cocktails were ok. Monday night most restaurants are closed so this restaurant was absolutely packed it took an hour to get food. Not going back would rather get a sub from the Grocery store
Food was an hr wait. No problem, we got half our order. Burgers, when i went up to ask about the pizza we ordered the bartender was avoiding me going slow with the register talking to partons who arrived after me. When I asked about the pizza I was told the pizzas wait time was an hr and a half. Which I wasnt informed about in the beginning
Very noisy and bustling. Music is all bass making it almost unintelligible while still being too loud. An unfortunate combination that really requires some attention. You order at the bar then try to find a table and the food finds you.The pizza was very good. Everything else was just okay.
Tried to eat here, after being told to order at the bar i proceeded to wait 40 minutes in line then with 1 person ahead of me they announce that food is on over an hour wait from the time you order. Needless to say i took my hungry family to the back door bar and grill and had a fantastic meal that took less than an hour to sit, order, eat, and pay. If i could give this place zero stars i would. Total waste of time and effort.
Waited two and half hours for a single order of garlic knots that never came. None of our food came out together and was barely warm (clams, small pizza, and fries). Sat in disbelief as other tables were served all their food at once and fresh from the window. What an absolute joke.
I had a Steak salad it was really good my brother got a bacon cheeseburger that was cooked perfectly and the fries were actually good. Bartender was super friendly and there are tons of seasonal beer options. Tony Harpers exceeded my expectations and didn’t miss a best bouncing back from covid
Great service and food. Steamed clams were a little tough but the shrimp Alfredo was the best I have ever had. My daughter claimed her pizza was excellent. We were there one hour start to finish and the entire place inside and out was packed. Great job!!!! Wish I could take this place home with me.
Cool spot to eat with good vibe. Its busy and loud with music playing but it all adds to the atmosphere of this place which makes it a fun place to eat. Our food was good, not great, but good and the service was good as well. We had chowder, salads and pizza and it was all pretty good but a few people around us were having wings and they looked very good with various sauces....Next time! ...and trust me I will be going back. it was too cold the evening we were there to enjoy the rooftop bar but I will next time as well.
Sorry excuse for a pizza place. Not sure if my pie was out of place. The crust was raw and I could make a mini pizza from the uncooked dough inside. The dough for the rest was chewy. Cheese was burnt on top and there was barley any sauce. The order was a single pie and it took 45 minutes. I don’t care about the shape but it was also deformed. I don’t call myself a critic because I’m not but I wouldn’t eat here again.
This was not my familys first trip to Harpers. On our previous visit the food and service were great. I understand that the pandemic makes things challenging, but our entire experience at Harpers today was terrible. We ordered outside and then waited 45 minutes to be served only half of the food that we ordered. When I asked about the pizza I was told: Theres no way to tell. It was another 15 minutes before we got the pizza, which meant that 2 out of four people had no food for an hour. The pizza was decent, most of the clams were ok, but there was one that was so foul I will never eat clams again. TERRIBLE experience.
The food is excellent. My husband and daughter enjoy the steamed Clam Pot and the Bang bang shrimp is my favorite, its perfect. My son in law and granddaughter enjoyed the pizza and garlic knots. The sandwiches and fries are very good. The staff is friendly and attentive to customers needs. I would recommend going here and seeing for yourself, you wont be disappointed!!!
Called on Wednesday August 4th to ask about the availability of SRQ chips as we were told the previous two evenings that they were out. The girl on the phone informed us that they do have SRQ chips. We get there 30 minutes later and when attempting to order them we were informed that they do not have SRQ chips. We call while standing in the restaurant, a girl picked up and we asked again to which she stated they do in fact have SRQ chips. Only after having to confront the staff for lying do they make the chips. Either get the staff on the same page about the lie or take it off the menu if your establishment does not want to make the food. We come here from out of town every year multiple times and the SRQ chips are what we look forward to.
Took over an hour to receive our food last night. The woman behind the bar taking orders and refilling drinks was not bothered with the lengthy line in the slightest while the waitresses were working very hard to catch up. The long wait was due to a computer malfunction. But you could tell which staff cared and which didnt.Food was good when we got it.
Come here twice every summer since it opened in old Forge. Worst experience ever this time and will not be back again this season. Appetizers were good or warm. Only half the apps came out immediately followed by one of the pizzas. Then the rest of the apps. Then the last pizza wasn’t out until we were already done. (Last pizza was the one i was waiting for). Quality and service are non existent this year. Hope next year changes are made as we look forward to dinner here annually
I would give it a 0 because I did not get my food served and the service was extremely unprofessional would never come again!!!!Edit: I did get my food but my friends food went cold.2nd edit: i understand there was a mechanical problem tho i gotta say tho that the pizza was pretty good tho so i understand and i will give it a 4 wstar because the food was decent tho
It was very crowded, but the food was great so I get it. Great pizza! The crust is a little meh, but the cheese is fantastic, which is the most important part in my opinion. They improve the crust, itll be in the running for some of the best pizza I have had! If you are wandering around old forge, its a great choice for lunch or dinner!
The service was good, even though we had an hours wait for our food, it was understandable as it was the holiday weekend and limited seating due to COVID restrictions. i only wish they had better signage explaining the process of ordering and seating ourselves, we were not really sure how it worked and had to stand in line to find out that were were to seat ourselves.
The place is always busy. The hostess informed us that there may be room at the rooftop bar. What a find! Everyone working there took such good care of us. Our group of 10 was able to sit in the rooftop area. Pizzas and wings were wonderful. Perfect way to end our day in Old Forge.
A little bit of a wait to be waited on, due to the fact that the hostess was seating people more quickly than the wait staff could keep up with. Sounded like they were understaffed for some reason today. Waitress was pleasant with a sense of humor. They had gluten free pizzas and gluten free burger buns as well, which was a nice plus.
Went on a Tuesday with two other people and started with dinner on their first floor outdoor patio. Our server was very disinterested and just seemed to be annoyed throughout the experience. When our boneless chicken wing appetizer showed up the server didnt bring any silverware. Ten minutes later she showed up with one set of silverware and when we asked if she had plastic available she said no and walked away. A few minutes later she showed up with plastic forks. The food wasnt bad but it wasnt good either. The reason Im giving two stars is because of how great the bartender was on the upstairs outdoor bar that we went to after our meal. She was awesome and if I come back I would just go straight upstairs to her. She really turned what wouldve been a bad experience overall into a good night at the end.
Normally love visiting this place when we come to Old Forge. Didnt have a great experience this last time. Covid has changed many things and we understand that, but it shouldnt affect hospitality. Good food as always, service and friendliness was nonexistent. Will still go back again next time though.
Great experience! Bartender Jim was fun and great to talk too! Lisa the owner was also wonderful and laid back! We enjoyed a half dozen homemade whiskey wings, they were phenomenal!!!!! Also shared a flat lander pizza add bacon ;) Yummy food and good people, two thumbs up :)
Ive been there 4 or 5 times with mixed results. At its best, its a 5 star restaurant. At its worst, its a 3. The service has ranged from sub par to good. Same goes for the pizza. The whiskey wings are phenomenal though. In our most recent visit they seem to have gotten smaller, but the quality otherwise had been consistently great. Cant recommend the whiskey wings enough.
I ordered two large pizzas and both were so dry my family didnt want to eat them. I still have half a cheesesteak pizza left and i am overall very disappointed as their pizza is usually very good. They couldnt offer any sort of refund or discout either which i believe is bad for their reputation in my household.
Our first trip to Tony Harpers in Lowville. We have frequented the Old Forge establishment several times.Restaurant was clean, nicely decorated.Wait staff polite and prompt.Chose a create your own pizza tonight. The crust was perfection, sauce and Mozzarella excellent. Only complaint is that the onion and mushroom toppings were very skimpy.Would suggest a more generous topped pizza for a 5 star rating
Ordered take out from here last night. The clam roll had about 5 larger pieces of clam and the rest were over fried pieces of breading. The tartar sauce was totally missing. The cold slaw was inedible and so salty. The roll was burned. The French Dip was so tough you could hardly chew it. The gravy was put in the to go box without a top. The sauce was spilled all over and the sandwich was all soggy. What a mess as it spilled all over when the box was opened. This meal was ordered with a side salad which was not even included in the bag. The third order was a chicken sandwich which was not too bad but again the cold slaw was terrible. The only good part of this order was the appetizer fresh chips. Will never order take out from here again. There are too many other good places in the area to waste our money here.
You can let your hair down and relax here. Young and loud crowd. Pizza is OK, but not like the Pizza served in Brooklyn, if you know what I mean. The Buffalo Hot Wings were excellent and hit the spot. The bar has an open air third floor sky deck with a nice view of the lake and town. Waitresses were quick and attentive.
Waited at our table 20 minutes for a server. Watched a couple who sat about 15 minutes after us get served dinner before we even got drinks. Ordered 1 pound of wings half medium half BBQ. Was charged for two half pounds and told by manager theres nothing I can do for your wait and the menu is very clear about pricing. For the record, I asked for a menu and it says nothing about different sauces requiring you to be charged for two separate halfs. Manager told me it was unreasonable for me to make a big deal about a wait in a busy restaurant and a price of a couple dollars difference for the wings. That being said, our server was very polite, a very nice girl and apologetic for something not entirely her fault. Wings were small and at best Id give a 5/10. Ill enjoy my weekend trips here without stopping at this restaurant again.Does anyone even read these? Probably not. Cheap people complain all over and get everything. Im a simple guy asking for good customer service and get s*** on. All that and I still tipped my waitress. Not going to screw a girl probably working a summer job because her manager is unreasonable.
Stopped here today and had a seat at the outside bar. The bartender walked past 10 times without acknowledging us. We grabbed our own menus and after 10 minutes she finally asked us what we wanted to drink. After 10 more minutes we received our simple drinks, meanwhile 5 people were behind us wanting drinks as well. The bartender moved so slow you could have timed her with a sundial. No urgency whatsoever. We paid for our drinks and left without ordering our food. Funny thing was, the place we did eat we overheard patrons discussing Tony Harpers and how long they waited and how frustrated they were. I will not be revisiting this establishment.
Avoid this place its a bucket of blood ! Wait staff overworked and the system they use to order and deliver food says NOTHING about service and is a major ripoff. If I were famished I would not eat here again. Might rank as the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. AWFUL!
This place is okay. Saw a pregnant girl working behind the bar.... saw her have a couple drinks hopefully it was just soda or something...Out of the few times I have been Ive only had a decent time once and that was upstairs. Usually waitresses seem to bother to wait on you food is overpriced and dirty.I really dont understand what the big fuss is about this place but I guess thats just me.
Bad experience. Long story short: Ordered a pizza for 14.95. Asked for gluten free option. Bill came out as 17.99. I showed server menu and it states 14.95. She said it was because it was gluten free. I said the menu did not show an increase for GF. She would not reduce the bill. I took it out of her tip. She also allowed cigarette smoking at the bar window - while we were eating. Rude. This was Tuesday Sept 4 at noon.
After going on the chair lift at McCauley, we stopped by here to grab lunch. It was about 1PM and there was a line out the door just to take your name, but it was only about 10 minutes to get our name put in then another 5 to get seated. The host mentioned they were short staffed, but I couldnt believe how fast we got in, seated and our order taken. The food was good and the waitress was a little short but believe me, that was not an issue...I was just very pleasantly surprised how fast we got in and how quick our food came out, plus the quality of the food with how crazy busy they were, I would go back in a heartbeat
OMG!! This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!Im so glad we chose Tony Harpers out of all the restaurants on the strip. The atmosphere is very cool, relaxed, friendly and comfortable. The bar is phenomenal (and wraps around the outside). The specialty cocktail menu is carefully crafted and the cocktails are delicious! I enjoyed the outside seating as well as this is where we chose to eat our dinner.Dinner was TO DIE FOR!I had a yummy fresh brewed iced tea and others had delish lemonade. The pizzas are so ridiculously delicious that they are easily in my top 3 faves of all time. The Phili Cheese steak was fresh and weighed about 3lbs!Our server was super sweet, and the 17 times I complimented the food, she warmly said Thank You every time.3 people stuffed our bellies with incredible food (and have 2 to go boxes), cocktails and drinks for under $60!This is DEFINITELY the place to eat on the strip!New Note: Today (next day) I finished my pizza (cold) in the car on the way home. It was DELICIOUS!
Happened to wander by as the musician was setting up in the parking lot for his for. He just kept talking about how great the rooftop bar was so we did. My only gripe was thst my wine was in a prepackaged plastic cup. We ordered an appetizer with homemade potatochips and lots of toppings that was delicious. The atmosphere was excellent live music too.
Waited 20 minutes for a waiter to come to our table but there were at least 4 standing around on their phones. When she finally came around it took an additional 25 minutes to even get drinks on the table. When we finally ordered, they informed us they were out of Ham, we got a salad and a grilled chicken sandwich. We ended up waiting another 30 minutes. No one paid us any attention or asked if we were doing OK. We didnt even see our waitress for 30 minutes as it seemed like she was the o oh one waiting tables while the others stood in the same spot texting. After waiting for almost an hour we asked to speak to a manager. He offered to refill our drinks and push to have our order ready right away, but it seemed like he didnt care. After waiting another 25 minutes, we left without ever receiving our food.
Downstairs seems managed well at times... But the rooftop is another story. Empty cans and napkins all over the ground is normal, tables are always dirty and not wiped down between orders, cig/cigar butts all over, kind of muddy in spots, bathrooms trashed. Same drinks upstairs cost more than downstairs. Pizza is usually good but very inconsistant, Had some on take out I wouldnt even serve to guests they looked so burnt/bubbly and lacking toppings... not really worth $20. Or worth a 1 hour 20 min wait. Wings are hit and miss as well different every time. All craft beers on tap are $6-$8 kinda high. Hope the imported servers get your orders correct. To be continued... 160 views
The wait was long, but the food was absolutely wonderful and with the wait. We waited 45 minutes, but the town is VERY crowded right now and some people were complaining about much longer waits. Staff was absolutely swamped but still very friendly. Ill definitely be back.
If I could give you a zero I would. We did not get what we order at all! We order 10 boneless whiskey wings, instead we got 10 bone in bbq wings. Then we order 5 bone in wings extra crispy, and we got 5 HOT wings, that I cannot eat! What a waste of of 26.90 and I paid $4 for like a hand full of cucumbers.
I absolutely love this place. Everytime Im in town I make it a point to stop in for a bucket of clams and ice cold beer. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is inviting. Food is incredible and everything about the people and place make you feel like you are simultaneously at home and on vacation. Everything is affordable so dont be shy about ordering apps and all kinds of extras!
Strongly disappointed. Came here on a Tuesday night with my family and they didn’t have 95% of the stuff we ordered. No waitresses... had to go up to the bar to order, now that’s a joke. And the wings were tiny. Haven’t been here in a while and now I’m not coming back.
One of the worst experiences ever. One would think that if they they had pizza and clam in the name of the establishment that both would be exceptional. Not the case......at all. Please dont waste your time or you will be going to bed hungry as I am. Id rather have gone to Subway. To top it all off the prices on the menu for the substantial food should have at least been reflected in the quality of the service. Guess that was to much to ask for as well. Ugh.
Just had our lunch there this afternoon. We have eaten there many times and always loved the place but today we werent impressed! Ordered the SRC chips, couldnt have them as they had none, ok, we understood. Ordered a pizza and wings and a turkey sandwich, wings and sandwich came quickly. Sandwich was a bit dry, I asked for some mayo, and asked where the pizza was, waitress said shed look into the pizza, over a half hour after ordered, the pizza finally gets to the table, crust was burned and the waitress says he said he put mayo on the sandwich, meaning whoever in the kitchen had put mayo on the sandwich, Im thinking Im the customer and Im saying its a bit dry, I wouldnt have asked for the mayo if it wasnt. Of course, from the time I had asked for the mayo and the time the waitress came back, I managed to eat half of the sandwich, dry. She passed our table a number of times and couldve dropped a tablespoon of mayo off. By the way, they forgot our pizza and managed to serve a pizza to a table that came in after us. Never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks or if we wanted anything else. This waitress was the worse waitress weve ever had there, combined with whoever was cooking in the kitchen, what a disappointment!
After sitting down it took about 15 minutes for a waitress to come over to our table and get us drinks and take our order. We ordered wings and pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was cold and dry and had a strange taste. Also it had hardly any bbq sauce on the sandwich. We also didnt get any forks, spoons or knives.
Where to start... They are great. We have come here many times for pizza, wings, burgers or seafood. Everytime we have come we get excellent service and the food is great. In general they specialize in clams and pizza but all the food is excellent. They have a full bar with many drink options includeing custom cocktails, many TVs and good music on. They also own the sky bar so check that out as well.

2022-06-04When we walked in the front door we were greeted by one of the workers who told us that we could sit wherever we wanted and when we were ready to order, bring the order up to the cashier. Since we had a large party it was a little weird but the ordering style was more akin to how you order food at a bar, this place does have a bar but I think the restaurant portion is much busier and if you eat outside, a waitress will take your order per usual.A party of 10 cost us just under $200 which I felt was a fair price. Some of the food looked better than others. The crispy chicken sandwich could have used a little more ranch and when we asked for more it was given. The BBQ pizza was great, the best part of the meal however I thought were the wings with the signature whiskey sauce. The bathroom smelled like pee but I didn’t take any points away for that, the tables are nice and well organized. We sat at a table with 6 chairs and there were only 3 menus. Other than those minuscule items, the experience and food were really good.

2022-06-04Food was good, I tried a barbecue pizza, a bison burger, and a chicken sandwich. Id probably try a different pizza but the burger and sandwich were both cooked to the doneness asked and tasted great. There is no waiter, just menus at the tables and have to go up and order which was a bit of a hassle with a party of 9.

2021-09-02What A SPREAD! GREAT MENU at Tony Harpers. Sure wish we had a kitchen this good in Lake George!!! Fantastic pizzas, clams, and wings!!! Not just GOOD food, GREAT. The service is laudable, and the quality of the ingredients comes through in every dish.

2021-11-07Nice little restaurant and bar. Wasnt busy. Need to order at the bar and they bring the food to you. Food tasted pretty good and was priced fairly. Food came quick. Be wary of parking, along the street or the municipal lot nearby.

2021-08-28Ordering at the bar is totally fine, but when the bartender keeps talking to others and doesnt acknowledge you at all, thats not awesome. Hi, be just a minute isnt hard.Chicken bacon ranch sandwich was messy and tasteless. Spicy fries are fries with a bunch of seasoning dumped on top, so you get an inedible pile. Not worth the money.Custom pizza was good. 2 stars because friends really liked the white garlic sauce.

2021-10-07Food was amazing... service was odd. But I think this time of year and with server needs, had to order to the bar and then get number so server could find us. Not simpliest of solutions, but everything went smooth and we got our food quite quicker than we were told so that is an A++. Food though cooked to perfection. And hot to the table.

2022-06-20As a former Readers Choice Award winning chicken wing preparer, I can honestly say that Tony Harpers makes chicken wings the right way.I have become disappointed in how the art of chicken wing preparation has become a lost art- so many times I have ordered wings and they barely have any sauce on them.Tony Harpers wins- though I suspect that they dip their wings rather than shake them, that means that there is an ample amount of sauce on the wings, and they are phenomenal! The outdoor seating area was nice! Many seating options, and there is indoor and rooftop seating as well.Staff was very attentive, both servers and bartenders, and it took only minutes for us to get our appetizers then our wings.Note that if you choose to sit outside, you need to go to the bar to order your food and drinks.Highly recommend!!!!

2022-06-13We ordered pizza there and it was quite good. Easy parking behind the restaurant and its one of the only places open early in the week. Workers are nice and theres no tipping because you dont have a waitress. You come to the counter, order what you want, then sit and wait for them to bring it out. Nice and easy.
