Ive always bought my italian sausages from here. They used to be very good. In the last couple of weeks I noticed that they taste different but didnt pay mind to it. Yesterday I bought some sausages , and it was the most disgusting and nastiest . I had to throw them out... whos making them, and why they changed the receipe....?Never again...
I called this place and I know not to shop here. I got transferred THREE times just to see if they had any Impossible meat or Beyond burgers. No one knew what I was talking about. The people here need to learn how to be more educated with plant based meat. Really unacceptable. The last person said if I was looking for ground pork or beef. I said, nevermind, thank you and hung up. I said vegan meat three times and clearly no one andwered my question.
The store is ok mgr is nice and deli department the guys are great . But one cashier is nasty slamming my moms food and putting in bags . I go there almost every day , we’ll because of that I will be going to some place else unless they do something about the young girl that slams bags all because of a sale and all u have to do is ask the mgr plus even if it’s a sale idem and two different people and two different kind of payments there is no need to be nasty after I said I will split the order mind u it was only one idem but the mgr was nice and did it for us , I’m a business owner that would never happen! All other cashiers are nice , I understand we all have bad days but keep it to yourself ! I guess she treats all old 74 and up people that way ! Until she’s gone so am I and my mother !
We could not be with my mother-in-law on Thanksgiving- I called and I spoke with Mego (I think that was his name)- Super nice guy- I asked if they delivered and he said yes and what the cost was- The food was delivered on time and fresh- She LOVED IT!!!!! Way to go you guys did a fantastic job and made the holiday a little more bearable!! Thanks for great service and your kindness-Kelly B
Good store. Cashiers always nice. Have big selections. Produce always good. Only thing I dont care for is the fish dept REALLY smells. Way too fishy. Makes me sometimes not want to go to that end of the store but need to get other produce that is near the fish. It is very off putting to me.
I watch employees, working the isles and handling packaged goods with their faces fully covered with a mask.Why cant the guys working behind the deli counter do the same. THEY work with open food, their face should be covered! But no, they wear them under their chin or only cover their mouth.When you say something to them, they give you an attitude. I wonder what the department of health would say about their attitude.
I usually shop here for meats and deli. Early yesterday about 0830 visited the deli section, had to ask my server to put a mask on like everyone else. He said he didn’t have one.really. His partner gave him one and he wore it under his nose. He was angry about it. So I I’m guessing no one says anything to him. So I wear a mask and glove to shop, but the deli worker does not. I’m a first responder I know it’s hard to breath with a mask for 12 hrs , if you can’t wear a mask you should not be serving food.
They had exactly what i was lookign for, store was very well organized and the employees were extremely helpful especially the cashiers. Would definitely recommend!!!
Worse supermarket I’ve ever been to. There’s a manager there name Pete. He’s a real piece of s**t. He’s very disrespectful, and he stares customers down like a creep, I’m not sure what he’s trying to stare at but he’s one step away from a sexual harassment charge. He’s even rude and an ass to employees. It seems that he likes to embarrass employees in front of customers. This is an example of what a little bit of power can do to a person. I don’t go for watching someone degrade employees in front of anyone. He is completely unprofessional and is unfit to be a manager. He should not be working with anyone, he treats his employees as if they’re below him. I would never shop at this store again due to this guy making me and a few other customers I know uncomfortable. I highly recommend to anyone to not go to this store, unless you’re comfortable with being stared down. My friends and family have relocated their food shopping to another store.
Great for fresh produce at reasonable prices, also carries a lot of Italian specialty items. Always stocks fresh arugula, basil, and escarole virtually year round, and there are not many places even on Staten Italy where you can say that. Decent cheese and beer selections too. Come here for the fruits and vegetables and specialty items, not the limited selection of supermarket staples like paper products obviously. But overall, totally changed the neighborhood for the better when they opened some years back.
Horrible and rude management. I got a flyer in the mail advertising lamb chops on sale. We only found 2 pack available and asked if it would be possible to get more. The guy in the meat packing department told me that we can only get 2 packs, its the store policy. I argued because nothing indicated any kind of limitation in the paper or on the price tag. We were told to speak with the manager Frank. My husband went to find Frank, returned 2 minutes later saying that Frank said there is a limit of 2 packs per person. I still wanted to see its written anywhere, so I went to find Frank. I asked politely to please show me the written policy. Frank never stopped to talk to me, he was running through the store and I was following him. He refused to show me anything in writing, kept saying that its their store policy. I asked again to see the written policy. To which Frank replied Yeah, Ill show it to you! and left. He was rude and unreasonable. I wish somebody would teach him customer service. This is the first time ever Ive encountered such ridiculously rude management. I felt like I was back in the old country. I will never go to that store again until they change the management.

The store still has not...since opening put up something to block the sun from entering the store. Why? We dont know. The food spoils faster. All of the food. Except what is frozen. When the sun shines directly at the registers you cant see the screen. My friend bought a cake there and it was moldy. I bought ricotta to make lasagna...it was moldy not on top but at the bottom of the container...good thing i noticed it b4 i used it.Bottles of water and other drinks spoil in the hot sun.Plus you will save money on air conditioning....yay.My best friend stopped shopping there.And we wont get food poisoning.Your staff will be less irritated.And so will your customers.And you will save money on your perishables.Lots of pluses to putting something to block the sun. Ive been a regular customer of the Top Tomato Superstore for years. Always a good variety of fresh produce, meats, cheeses, great (although separate) seafood dept. With the closure of the nearby Waldbaums store, less than a year ago, Top Tomato has now become our place to go to, esp. for those, who are elderly and/or Disabled. The staff has always been very friendly and courteous, never an issue; ... until this morning. Ordered my regular San Daniele soppressata and capicola from the Deli dept., only to come home and find out a few hours later that both were not what I had ordered and always get from the store. The mistake was apparent. I went back to the store the next morning upon the very opening, to replace both items with no hassle, only to get mocked and laughed at by clearly junior staff. That was not appreciated. I understand, that some of us, customers, may not look like much, but at times, one needs to think about whats more important - a great reputation or only $6 worth of a mistake to admit that the store made.
This place should be shut down. It’s a dump and the meat they sell is always rotten. Their produce is never fresh. Things that should be inside the store in the refrigerator are outside roasting in the sun. Very poor customer service and they do not even deserve 1 star. All the supermarkets and stores in Rosebank are disgusting.
My bf and I always go to top tomato on the weekends and never had a problem until today. My bf was waiting to order at the deli section and the man just ignored him for over 5 min. My bf asked if it was open and the man said yes then walked away. As soon as my bf left the area this older gentleman went and got served within one min. My boyfriend then went back and got ignored again. I told him that this is ridiculous we just left. Im still confused as to why we were ignored.
I loved this store but since Peter left the store is going down hill. A number of times they didnt stock up on sales items and I left empty handed. Im going back to Family Fruit, at least if there out of the sale item they give you a better brand to make up for it.
A small neighborhood grocery store with a deli and seafood counter. The prices are reasonable but I usually only shop here when they have sales otherwise most of the stuff you can get cheaper at Shoprite. The cashiers is usually very rude here and show no respect. They have a strict $15 (or $10) credit card minimum policy as well.
Placed order for catering, the food was fresh and the order was delivered on time. Friendly staff and excellent service. I would recommend this store for catering to anyone. Thanks for your professionalism.
As i waited to be tended to by the deli representive in this establishment .....the grotesque heavy set man behind the counter staired me down as he kept walking. Murmuring under his half placed mask What are u looking atI walked away because i didnt want him anywhere near my food ....please train deli workers to have respect for customers .....other than this deli.... i love this store
Quaint mom-and-pop store almost. Good if you need to run in for one thing that are not too terribly particular about what you get. What do I mean by that? Well if you want to stop in for some fruit but youre not too terribly particular about what kind of fruit you get! Or if you are stopping in for something sweet but are not too terribly particular about what kind of sweet you are coming to get. I was seriously there 4xs in August and couldnt find lg marshmellows for Smores. I mean...who doesnt stock lg marshmellows, regardless of season? But in AUGUST??? Also, organics are random. I could find organic milk or organic bananas anytime. But never once organic apples. Makes no sense to me since I eat apple peels and I do not eat banana peels! Thats just an example. There are local baked goods, which is nice to see. The staff is sweet and helpful. They carry alcohol. They carry ice. They have a parking lot. These things earned the 4 stars.
Small, horrible parking situation...but the mozzarella is good, they sell beet hummus, craft beers, and smoked mozz...sometimes they even have juniors cheesecake. The frozen food is not the best (check for expirations and if freezer burned).
If you need to get a couple of things like milk,eggs, some vegtables its an ok place. If your stocking up your better off at a bigger place.Cons: bread is expired a lot of the time. Fruit and vegtables are the same.Parking is probably a total of 20 spaces.

Last week i came in and the bacon wrapped chicken was on sale...so i went in for that and there wasnt any of it available...apparently you needed to call ahead but it didnt mention that in their newspaper ad..i just went in there for the bone in shell steak thats on sale and thats not available i need to call ahead for it...idgaf if u wanna do buisness on the street but we are working people...dont treat us like we are some street customer..pull that stuff with the shy customers,not working class customers
Kitchen is very dirty. The prepared food in the out side refrigerator the dates are changed every three days. They keep it for 7day before throwing them out. I wouldnt feed my dog with there food.
This store is the worst (the one on Bay street in Staten Island) because I went to buy some paper towels that were on sale for this week in the circular and after getting all the way over there and gas wasted they told us they don’t have any more. I asked if the store issues rain checks and they said no I don’t think they ever had any
Really good prices, excellent variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. I like the new oil and balsamic vinegar in glass refill bottles.
I love this store, everything is cheap . Fruits and vegetables are fresh. The foods at the deli are also delicious.The cashiers and the workers are also friendly.
Bought cheese that had an expiration date one week prior to when i bought it, did not realize till i got home that day. Went back for refund and they denied me. Bread also moldy in cabinet. Stay away
Small store with mostly produce and other essentials when you dont have the time to make it out to a larger supermarket. Also has a small but decent beer selection.

Bought the teriyaki chicken repacked and it was spoiled. The teriyaki sauce couldnt cover the smell . Very Disappointing
The prices are pretty cheap and they have pretty quality goods, and the staff are pretty okay. Just because it is very close and there is no 4.5 star rating, Ill give this a five star.
Management changed. Not as good as it used to be. Now I wait in line as long as it takes to shop. Less product options than before. Disappointed.

2022-01-28Run dont walk from this store, I am recovering from food poisoning for the second time as I write this. Its not from the prepared foods from the back thats not been an issue. Its always the deli counter. I dont know of those guys keep up hygiene but I bought it on Tuesday I will never ever shop here again and I have spent a good deal over the years. Seriously your rolling the dice with the deli counter

2022-03-17I usually come here about once a month and spend close to almost $500 dollars in groceries the store is great good selection of stuff everything is fresh. But the Spanish guy who works at fish department was so rude acting very inconsiderate and rolling his eyes when we asking about certain seafoods. He was so rude we didn’t even want anything from seafood department he mumbled something to as well as we walked away. What a shame cause we actually loved the store the people from the cold cut section was very nice though. But because of how mad we got at the guy fromSeafood department we will no longer coming to this place.

2022-06-26First impressions it looks organized and clean.Prices are little over than other grocery markets.But they are scammers.Be careful check your groceries before you leave.I bought watermelon and 2 lemons.Now for two items you would think it would be in bag together.Well wrong you arrive at home and find out you just got watermelon and lemons they kept for themselves to enjoy some lemonade on customers expense.

2022-06-07Dont buy any seafood in this store if you dont want to end up at a hospital. This seafood place has to be shot down for good due to an imminent hazard to the public health. Most of the seafood is far beneath the quality acceptance line.

2021-12-21Best produce and meats in the area and the staff is awesome and so helpful. You pay what you get for remember that. If you see dirt cheap prices there is usually a little issue. This place is priced perfectly for what they offer which is top quality.
