I took two ‘out of town’ friends to the restaurant this past Saturday. The food was delicious, however the service was just not up to the standards you expect at Jean-Georges. I wanted to give my friends a special experience, however I was extremely dissatisfied. At prices starting at $98 per head, you need to provide top tier service, otherwise pricing should be adjusted accordingly. I’m well aware and appreciate the tough time restaurants are having with staffing currently, however you should adjust your reservation capacity to account for staffing and to still be able to provide adequate service to guests. As examples, my guest were pouring their own waters, drinks, etc because staff were not attentive enough to come check on our table. Not once did our server come to ask how everything was. We requested several items as well, (like fresh pepper) which never arrived at the table. I did express my disappointment with the manager who was very apologetic and understanding. She was also gracious to offer to pay for our drinks. Topping Rose had grown to be one of our ‘go to’ restaurants over the years and to see it at this level is very disappointing.
This 5-star is 5-star. First off, its among my top five restaurants in the Hamptons. It started with Tom Colicchio behind the restaurant in Hamptons finest hotel. Now bears the name of Jean Georges (I love everything he does since Nougatine)Fantastic staff - sensual setting all around, its a must-go eatery.
ALL STAFF IS NEW. No one from the old staff is here. Had been coming here for years but that must now come to an end. Waiters constantly pushed my chair while eating, no apologies. Food quality went down significantly. Water glass had a stain from lipstick. They didn’t really care.
I need more stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Samantha the wedding coordinator was one of the best I’ve come in contact with, her attention to detail superb. She was gracious, patient and accommodating. We had to change the set up 3x’s and she did it with a smile. The maitre d’, Matt, was equally as good. I’ve never met a matire d’ who didn’t question my timeline. He made it work. Communicated with me every step of the way. We communicated for speeches, dance breaks, etc. The dinner service, exquisite. Compliments to the chef. This venue is ideal for that intimate wedding. Their guest rooms, dining areas and decor were just perfect.Somebody give them both a raise!!!!I hope to be back at this venue soon for another event.
The dinner my wife and I had at JG on Sunday 6/6/21 was otherworldly. Words cannot explain how delicious the lamb special was. Superb job by the chef. Service was attentive and friendly. Cocktails were great and there were some great selections on the by-the-glass wine list. I don’t normally write reviews, but was compelled to because of how wonderful our dinner was. Could not recommend this place more highly!
This place has gone down hill a lot.Service was extremely slow, drink order placed and took 15 minutes to receive them, then to be auctioned off at the table for a party of 8. Couldn’t even remember who had what drink and made us pass them down the table.Food was awful.Pork sausage was equal to brown and serve from the grocery store. Was horrible and a disappointment that they would serve something like this.Chicken on the two salads came out raw and had to be sent back.French fries where so salty you couldn’t even eat them, took 15 minutes to get replacement ones.Ordered 4 bottles of champagne and we had to pour 75% of them by ourselves as staff was no place to be found.Never got refills on water, ice teas, or coffee.$1300 check and was so disappointed. Sad people continue to support horrible places like this just because of there name. I’ve had 500 times better food and service at a breakfast dinner.I won’t be back.Manager on duty was useless, walking around with a bottle of rose and when we politely stated our complaints she just smiled as if it doesn’t matter. Useless and uneducated to be running a dinning room of this level.I’d leave 0’stars if I could.
We were there for a wedding in the area. The rooms were poorly kept and it was a VIP suite. I have pictures but its not allowing me to post the outlet was out of the wall & there was a hole in the celing the sofa chairs were dirty and up on the private roof there was a glass with cigars burnt out. The room smell of smoke and there was a baby present. We were told if youre not happy go to another hotel. It was a 3hr drive with a baby and it was 6pm on the evening. With preparation for the event we were there for.
My wife wanted to try this place after she saw the chef on TV in spite of the reviews….Probably, one of the worst breakfast experiences at the rather pricey tag. The brunch menu did not impress we ended up ordering eggs…pretty much the only option on the menu. My wife’s omelette was made from boxed eggs (my breakfast was made from real eggs and was ok) and salad greens were rotten. The waitress didn’t know the difference between whole wheat and wheat toast and then she forgot to bring it all together. Coffee was cold….oops forgot to mention a hair we found in my eggs. We paid our bill in full, but thought we owe the feedback to the world. If you are in the mood for good food, we would recommend Almond
We went to Topping Rose House a few times for brunch. It has gone downhill on both service and quality of the food. This past weekend, cutlery and glasses were dirty, bread was stale, fries were too salty, poached eggs were not runny. These are basic items that you dont expect in a high-end restaurant. We are sorry to say that like many other places in the Hamptons, this Jean-Georges restaurant is not matching the standards.
We have had such mixed experiences at JGs over the last 2-3 years its hard to know where to start. Weve lived just down the road for 12 years and have had dinner there at least that number of times. I wish there was a shred of consistency since we keep trying!! At the end of the day this lack of consistency, plus a recently-added rip-off prix fixe has forced us to pan this very-occasionally terrific local spot.Rewind the tape 2 years (pre-Covid) and we had a spectacular meal there in March of 2019, followed by a disastrous experience in May, where classically loud and obnoxious (and R-rated) conversations and shouted tales of braggadocio from almost all the surrounding tables drowned out our candle-lit romantic dinner. Were NOT feint-of-heart, but the staffs unwillingness to enforce a base-level of acceptable table-behavior and good manners among its clientelle was shocking. We wrote it off to the summer crowd of you-know-whats, but 3 weeks later 2 good friends went there for there 1 year wedding anniversary and later told us that the experience was so awful that they left before their entrees arrived (they are not feint-of-heart, either! Then Covid, so fast-forward to more recent times. This past Spring and summer we had 2-3 very good & memorable dinners: just us 2 twice and once with friends. I believe the had hotel changed hands, and the food was excellent, the ambiance terrific and the service first-rate.So much so that we recommended the place to friends who drove from the North Fork to join us for dinner there this past Friday, only to have yet another fiasco of an experience!Jean-George has converted to a $98 prix-fixe dinner menu. Which I thought was utterly price-gougy but would hopefully be spectacular. It wasnt. It was their standard menu of $35-$45 dollar entrees and $20 appetisers. Nobody wanted desert (there were 3 boring choices anyway), and we might not have felt completely ripped off, had the service not been atrocious. The hotel was hosting a 100-person wedding and the waiters must have been pulling double-duty. We sat down at 7:00pm and left by 9:45pm. In that span, it took us 15 minutes to order wine, 20 minutes to get appetizers, we had entrees arrive before plates had been cleared - so we bussed our own table, it took almost 30 minutes for desert to arrive (which we hadnt wanted anyway, but neverthelss had to request twice), and another 20 minutes to get the check handled. We poured our own wine throughout the meal - which was tasty, but diminished by being over-priced and poorly served. To say the waiter was in-absentia would be an understatement.I had to apologize profusely to our guests, as they faced a long drive to get home after dinner, and left shell-shocked and disappointed by the experience. A modest bottle of wine ($95 ish) and a generous-though-completely-undeserved tip ($100 is) set the 4 of us back about $640. Quite astonishing. Crossed off our list. Shame.
Truly lovely weekend getaway from the city! Our room was fabulous and having the outdoor space was a surprise hit for our stay. We enjoyed taking in the sun outside our room and on the roof deck. Both the bathtub and shower were a luxurious experience. We were delighted to learn that breakfast was included, the only downside being the lack of outdoor seating. We were unable to access WiFi and therefore use the TV after the first night of our stay, which was the only downside. Would definitely book again in a heartbeat!
Weve come to Topping Rose every summer since they opened. We love to bike (and bikes are included) to the beach and spend time at their lovely pool. This year, they had the fire pit waiting for us every night after dinner. The breakfasts are phenomenal. Courtney and the staff took wonderful care of us this summer and we cant wait to come back.
I arrived back in the room after being out and the people servicing the room had our pillows on the top of our closed suitcases that have been in cars, planes, and dragged around other dirty areas. I asked calmly if they planned to put the pillows on the bed or put new pillows cases on and they said they planned to put them back on the bed. This is on top of the room not being clean when we arrived and a lot of wear and tear in the room. I went to the front desk and told them about my concerns. They didn’t do anything. I’m now in bed and it is creaking and there is a divot (the type that forms when a mattress is old). I’m frankly just confused on how this hotel costs so much when I enjoyed my stay at the Marriott in Newport much more.
This review is about the JG restaurant. My mom and I had dinner here tonight. The service was absolutely atrocious (except for Lockee - he was the restaurant’s saving grace). I am giving the restaurant 2 stars because the food was tasty (albeit incorrectly prepared at first) and Lockee, a young gentleman that stepped in to assist with various issues (while our waiter was nowhere to be found or just blamed the kitchen for the evening’s problems). After our order was taken, nobody came to pour our water. We asked for our ribeye done medium - it came out cold and rare, and we had to send it back.My mother explained that she had a dairy allergy - they still served us spinach in cream.I think we only saw our waiter a couple times, and that was for order taking and a half-hearted/annoyed apology for various mistakes, as well as the bill.I normally don’t write reviews, but for a restaurant of this caliber, the overall service needs a major overhaul. Finally, when we expressed our concerns to the manager, he gave us a half-hearted apology and basically nodded his head, seemingly annoyed that we expressed our feedback (instead of concerned for his establishment).
This is a review for the restaurant. Worst brunch we’ve had in years. The pancakes were not even fresh. The omelette was very dry, potatoes overcooked and tasteless and the salad came straight from a Trader Joe’s box. The eggs were mediocre and cold. Zero creativity in taste and presentation. Any diner in 2nd Avenue does better than this. Unwelcoming service. Bathrooms dirty and unattended. Super disappointed with this JG restaurant. Will not be back
This was the worst experience my girlfriend and I have ever had at a Jean George establishment, and weve been to many! Everything from the valet to our server was very rushed and rude. We came in at a pretty late time and just wanted to have a few drinks and appetizers. We ordered 2 apps and a round of drinks. Our crispy calamari came out 3 minutes after ordering it leaving us to wonder if it was pre-made and sitting under a service heated lamp just waiting to be picked up. Then the burrata shows up. Another disappointment. Correct me if Im wrong, burrata is supposed to be creamy on the inside with a slightly thicker outer layer, no? Not the case, very chewy. Anyway, we left after few rounds of drinks because our server was giving us the look. We left all the food on the table. Very disappointed in Management. Topping Rose, get it together!!!
Pros: Great rooms- just the right size, tranquil. Nice pool/spa/facilities. Really enjoyed our stay and would be back. They provided a pass or transfer to the beach and were generally very accommodating (with a baby and dog). Jean Georges was fantastic- great wine, asparagus was incredible, the burger, and hummus! All wonderfulCons: the floor of our room was so dirty. Our son dropped some water right on arrival and I picked it up - the cloth was black. Gross. The iron in our room had something on it that ruined a pair of pants. *the hotel tried to clean it and got most of it- but they’re stained with some goo now. Check the iron first! :) Our dinner at Jean Georges was fantastic except the beef tenderloin- which sounded great. In fairness I had to get it medium well... so it may honestly be my own fault- the sauce was fantastic.Overall, it was beautiful and we loved it. I think cleanliness could be improved a bit based on the floor and gooey iron. Highly recommend the hotel and restaurant.
The Hamptons is one of the most special places that we enjoy, and our stay at Topping Rose House couldn’t have been any better. Excellent service and accommodations and the staff was one of the most professional I have ever experienced. Our room was extremely clean and sheets and linens are cleaned constantly. We had a meal here on our last leg of our stay, and our dinner was incredible. The morning breakfasts are also some of the best we had. We will make this a tradition of staying here in the summers.
This review is long overdue. My husband and I visited back in February for one night, for a quick getaway. The place itself is beautiful, our room was very nice and very modern. However, our experience was not pleasant. The people that work there did not make us feel welcomed out at all. From the moment we checked in, when we went to the restaurant, and everything else that followed that day. About 30 minutes after we checked into our room, the smoke alarm went off and my husband & I are not smokers. We assumed it would go away maybe it was a glitch but the sound continued so we called concierge. They sent someone up and it was handled. The alarm went off again and we made another call, this time they came up to our room with a cop and pretty much interrogated my husband and accused us of having drugs or smoking in the room. It was extremely uncomfortable and they explained it was the inns protocol however, we called twice to complain about the sound and have someone come into our room to have it checked out. We decided to not stay the night because everything about this place made us feel so uncomfortable and not welcomed at all. We did an early checkout and explained to the female at the front desk what had happened. We drove almost 2.5 hours to come to this place, pay almost $600 for a room, and having to deal with an extremely rude staff. I will never come back here, we felt disrespected on so many levels.
The hotel is amazing, friendly Front desk staff. The room was very clean. I gave the 4 🌟 because of the restaurant. The waitress was not friendly, she made us feel uncomfortable with her body language. The food was so so. We expected more from a Jean George restaurant.
Had an amazing experience. The hotel is lovely, the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and the hotel was situated right in town. We each got a massage with Tai and she was a pure joy. Would absolutely come back and highly recommend Tai for a massage—my back has never felt more relaxed!
Its nice to know one can get good quality Manhattan dining on Long Island. The tuna tare tare with avocado and ginger is heaven. The butternut squash minestrone soup was tasty with a slight kick! The cucumber martini was perfect- not sweet, but didnt taste strong...yet it was. The service was very accommodating and friendly. It was well worth the hour drive for me to get there! The dining room was open, airy and bright. Bravo JG you have struck again!2020... still a top-notch elegant restaurant to dine in. The food is still exquisite. Must try the Crispy Salmon Sushi with Chipolte and Soy Glaze.
We, meaning 5 girlfriends and myself were there on 11/9/19 taking advantage that it was restaurant week... The ambiance is old world, subtle elegance. Attentive staff from the moment we got there to the moment we left. We enjoyed our drinks, wine, food and desserts in their entirety... All was delicious, I had the pumpkin risotto( a must try, yum), the beet salad was oh so tasty too... Octopus was beautifully presented and served to perfection.... My main dish was the Parmesan crusted chicken served with light hued and tasting vegetables, that complimented each other perfectly... The dessert were well worth the calories, beautiful to look at and oh so scrumptious to daintily devour!! Highly, highly recommend the Topping Rose House restaurant!! Thank you!
Would give them a zero star if I can. Several bees were literally digging into all over the food after my first bite and I asked for new food. My friend was in the middle eating with 5 bees on his pancake (without complaining) and the servers literally took his plate away. So rude! The manager was extremely unprofessional and rude and said I’ll be charged for the new food. This is not the level of service I expected at a Michelin star restaurant.
I cant say enough about this place. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious from beginning to end. I took my boyfriend here for a surprise birthday dinner and the staff were so great about it and did a lovely birthday cake and song for him. Definitely planning on going here again for another special occasion.
My friend and i had a reservation but decided to sit at the bar instead. great decision.we had a lot of fun. Food was wonderful. i was incredibly impressed with their wine list! great options by the bottle and by the glass and prices were reasonable (the selections are impeccable). service was stellar, from beginning to end.
We recently stayed for 5 nights having paid more than $4000 for a Cottage Twin room. We were expecting 5 star facilities and service the reality was very different. This hotel is living off its reputation and previous good reviews, the management and staff are not interested in the guests. Corners are being cut on health and safety in many areas. I was bitten by a spider whilst in bed one evening. I reported this to Jennifer the duty manager, her response was negative, no apology or offer of help. In the dining room the seats are stained and dirty the general environment around the hotel is lacking attention and detail. It appears the owners have stopped investing are milking the guests for every dollar they can get. DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IT IS A RIP OFF
Food was definitely on another level, but for a place of this caliber, you’d expect attention to detail and I think having umbrellas to cover tables so that patrons don’t bake in the sun while eating, is just a little expected convenience for a place like this, however there are no umbrellas, so unless you’re lucky enough to get a table in the shade, good luck with being comfortable while you eat if it’s hot and sunny.
This review is for the spa not the hotel itself. It is probably the worse massage I have ever gotten. The person who gave me a massage just put lotion on and barely massaged me- she kept putting her hand or elbow on one spot and holding it for minutes. It’s definitely a waste of money.
Toppingrosehouse was one of worst experiences I had in years. Server Lizet M and the manger Jessica Smith were extremely unprofessional and shouldn’t be representing the face of Jean-Georges.Be prepared to wait for your morning eggs for 60-80 minutes, get your veggies slightly rotten and on top of that enjoy listening to the manager telling you how unwelcome you are.I always thought that hospitality business was about customer experience and that the manager job was to help the place running properly. Jessica Smith apparently thinks her job is to hangout in the stuff room when the place is under stuff, to be rude to customers and don’t you dare ask about outdoor seating on a sunny 72F degree day. Why? Because the manager or the stuff members were too lazy to clean/prepare the table for you.As much as I love Jean’s restaurants I’m very disappointed. As always I came for the quality (food/service/place), I got the place, but nothing else. I wish it was different.
We had a bad and unpleasant experience. It was very loud and noisy outside every night till 12.00 am. On our request to talk to management, the staff told us that there is no manager in the hotel and only a few people at the front who did not know anything besides greeting customers and giving keys. Every night there was a blasting music from private parties. The staff was lacking basic knowledge and constantly forgetting to bring part of our order. elevators were so smelly to the point that I was thinking to a Fabreese refresher for them and leave it in the elevator. Poor management and fancy name, dirty property!
Honestly, the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in the Hamptons - and after living here for several years, we’ve eaten everywhere high and low end - this was one of the last boxes to be ticked and we did so for our anniversary. Food was sub-par. Service was horrendous. And the manager Juantas is by far the most incompetent and pompous “manager” in the business. 5 other tables surrounding ours had the same issues with atrocious service and terrible food- the manager was a complete A-hole to all of us. Stay away.
It is precisely as you would expect for a summer weekend night in the Hamptons from Jean George. The food was wonderful, the place was crowded, the staff was a little spotty, and the personalities were plentiful. But thats what I signed up for. The setting is as good of a public setting as you will find east of Shinnecock, but know that draws a specific crowd. So if you want a quiet, romantic meal with no fuss then try somewhere else. I had also heard mixed things about the food, but it came in a flourish and with outstanding flavors. There was a good spice to the tuna tartar and the beef tenderloin sauce. For those that want to see a crowd, this is your place.
Hidden retreat situated in the heart of bridgehampton. Topping Rose House will win you over with its 5 star amenities such as a Jean-Georges restaurant (complimentary breakfast!), spa, pool, hot tub, and large bathroom with bath. What really sets this place apart from the rest is the excellent staff. Being both friendly and knowledgeable they will be the reason you come back again and again. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Awful, pork loin was boring, slightly undercooked, surrounded by a layer of fat, accompanied by a few pieces of sweet onion and another unidentifiable veggie, and cost $42.00; the rest of the meal was O.K., small portions, and certainly not anything to recommend, O.K., the fries were nice, but cost $14.00. Really disappointed, wont go back. The wait staff was fine as was the ambiance.... but I came for the food.
Burgers served on store bought dinner rolls. Ice cream served in a cup more suited to a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets. Speaking of chicken, the chicken entree was as dry as jerky. Very disappointing. Pancakes were good and there were other positive aspects, but management needs to reassess what is happening there.
Rooms filthy and beds uncomfortable. Worse than that, if you tell management about any problem instead of apologizing or providing any incentive to come back, they ridicule you and tell you not to come back- literally! The General Manager sets the tone and is the one responsible for his employees insulting behavior. Indeed, if you complain about anything, large or small, he confronts you, inches from your face becoming increasingly angry and abusive. This guy needs a long mental health stay at a facility with bars on the windows. Better yet, should be immediately fired and replaced with a professional. How did he get this job?? Must be a relative
Three of us went to TR House for Thanksgiving dinner 2017 hoping that, all things considered ($$$$), wed be served something a little special. We arrived on time for our early dinner reservation and were seated 35 minutes later. No big deal; it was jam-packed, but I was genuinely pleased to see they were doing a brisk business; thats a good sign, and good for them! It was also loud. Very loud. Two crying babies held center stage, but this was a special day, so fine, who doesnt love babies, even high pitched ones? However, when our harried waiter finally came to take our order, we were informed that they were officially out of turkey. At 6:35? Okay, stuff happens. We adjusted our expectations and ordered other items on the menu. Ten minutes later, our (even more) harried and, by now, we realized, utterly charmless waiter announced that the kitchen had turkey after all. Hooray! We all ordered the turkey dinner! What was eventually put in front of us was a dollop of mashed potato and gravy, 1/2 a dollop of stuffing, 4 (or was it 5?) pieces of brussels sprouts, a schmear of cranberry, and . . . . turkey roll! Turkey roll! At least we were each given our own plates . . .. . . which we all cleaned in short oder, but for one item . . . turkey roll. After a couple bites, none of us found this hapless roll of fowl meat to be in any way satisfactory. It was thick, dry and devoid of anything remotely Thanksgiving-y. To say that, for almost $500.00, the three of us were disappointed, would be a gross understatement.I will say though, the scallop appetizer was quite okay, as was the desert. And the hat-check girl, too. But the main event, bleh!We left feeling that we had paid hard earned money to be part of a bad dress rehearsal for kitchen and staff. I wont even mention how many times we had to ask if our wine was on the way. Did I mention our harried and utterly charmless waiter? A little smile every once in a while mightve gone a long way. At least to signal hey, were trying.
Booked this hotel via Airbnb (which I have done in the past) and when we arrived - which took my family and I over 2.5 hours to get to - they said they didn’t have my reservation and there were no rooms left. The receptionist checked other rooms in the area and said the only room we could find was “too expensive” so she wouldn’t do it. The host on the Airbnb would not reply back to me but was communicating with her. They would not even rebook us for another weekend. On top of it, the host lied to Airbnb stating that “the heat would not work” and that is why they canceled our room. If this is how they handle their guest I can’t imagine how they run other parts of their business.
This was the worst experience ever!Such a disappointmentFood wasn’t freshService was terrible, restaurant was under stuffed , we had to wait forever for food and didn’t even get what we orderedOn top of that Manager Jessica Smith was very rude.So unexpected for such high end place. We were honestly in shock. What happened to hospitality????
Someone needs to pack his/her knives and go. Had big birthday dinner on a Sunday night. 6 people. The service was ok though they brought the wrong bottle of wine. The bad news is the food. And this is coming from a major Tom C fan who eats at all his NYC places. I dragged 5 friends/family out there from Manhattan for a hugely expensive dinner that no one enjoyed. The food ranged from tasteless to massively over-salted. Were all foodies who like their seasoning, but my bro in law sent back both courses. My starter (pumpkin agnioletti) was tasteless. My venison was too salty to eat. When the manager saw the second dish go back to the kitchen, he seemed to slink away. I did manage to wave him down and express our disappointment. We all realize that Sunday night off season is tough....no doubt a sous chef was managing the kitchen. But thats not an excuse.....not at these prices. Would love to think it would be worth another try, but not at those prices. Tom, Im saddened by this!
Good food, small portions, service needs big improvement, no coat room, small uncomfortable chairs, very noisy, not recommanded place for having a date or a conversation, bad acoustic, valet parking attentants incompetant, dont expect to have simular experience than any other Jean Georges other locations! But beautiful decoration and space
We live around the corner and have been dining in the Topping Rose restaurant for the last 4 years. Today was an experience we have never witnessed before. Myself, my husband and our 4 children came to have lunch. Our hostess Amelia was very unpleasant and rude. Despite having reservations, Amelia refused to sit us at the table we requested. The restaurant was not fully occupied and many tables for 6 were available. The table we requested was not reserved and was empty the whole time we dined. Not making a big deal, we asked to make reservations for the following week. Amelia replied she was not able to guarantee the table for the following week either. We have dined at the restaurant on multiple occasions and how we were treated today was absolutely unacceptable.

2022-01-04Where to start! Made reservations for NYE, and had high expectations/ hopes coming in. And let me tell you they were exceeded by a mile. From start to finish of my stay everything was extraordinary. We were greeted by this extremely pleasant and accommodating employee Danielle. She made sure we had absolutely everything we needed and made us feel comfortable from the start. Then on to dinner, the food was absolutely out of this world! Food was bursting with flavor, and you could taste the freshness in every course. The GM Joe came over during dinner to make sure everything was going well, and made us feel right at home. Couldnt ask for a more pleasant way to ring in the new year. I will 100% be back, and recommend anyone reading this to give it a try because you will not be disappointed!!!

2022-01-04Stayed at the Topping Rose House for New Years Eve & it was absolutely one of the best experiences Ive ever had. Not only were the rooms beautiful and clean, the staff was incredibly helpful and caring to all needs. The front office manager, Danielle, ensured that our stay was nothing short of spectacular. She was one of the highlights of our stay. We attended dinner for their New Years Eve event and the food was the best Ive ever had. I will definitely be returning for future events! Thank you TRH for the hospitality!

2022-01-03Our stay was excellent. From the cleanliness of the room to the courtesy of the staff Topping rose house was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed on Long Island. We were helped by Danielle at the desk who was very knowledgeable and helpful, We highly recommend dealing with her and her staff in particular. We were also greeted by Joe who also was super helpful with this absolutely great experience. We can’t wait to stay again! Thank you to everyone here for our great experience!

2022-05-29All the reviews I read seemed pretty positive however, the welcome we got was very vague. No offer in recommendations or assistance in reservations, even to their own restaurant. There was limited information of the amenities (e.g. bikes, car service), and a lack of information relating to events happening during our stay. The restaurant was amazing and food was delicious and great service. I had better luck calling the restaurant to get a hold of someone at the front desk because they rarely answered (again, there is a theme of a lack of communication). The room was really nice but for being an “upscale” boutique hotel, I’m really surprised they couldn’t even have a coffee machine in the room. Also, our door didn’t lock which the front desk told us it was because they’re European doors but if they were so “unique” it would’ve been nice if someone explained how to use it.I was mostly disappointed that there ended up being a wedding during our Thursday night stay which ended up being directly in front of our room at the pool. Luckily it ended at 11 pm but we weren’t able to use the pool and there was people all over setting up so we felt in the way that entire day. There was also a photo booth setup which lit up the entire bathroom with flash after flash. It would have been nice if they put us further down at least and when we said something, they just mentioned they communicate events on their website. I don’t think there’s clear wedding dates listed on their site and if there is…it would have still been nice if someone just gave us the heads up when we checked in.They did also have the fire pit setup but didn’t have a fire any of the nights…once again seemed like another amenity we couldn’t use. We haven’t been traveling much during the pandemic but this experience was pretty disappointing and feel like I’ve received better service traveling for work and staying at a Marriott. I would like to support smaller boutique hotels but I felt like a burden since I wasn’t paying thousands on a wedding…just a few thousand on two nights which is clearly nothing to themAlso, I was really surprised that there was so much traffic. The hotel is in front of one of the main roads, it’s only two lanes but there were a ton of large tractor trailers constantly driving by when dining and can easily be heard from the room we stayed in

2022-01-05Stayed at TRH this weekend and had an absolutely amazing experience. The manager Danielle and Joe were great and showed us to our room which exceeded all of my expectations. Our kids loved the place and the food was exquisite. I will forever stay at topping rose house after the time we all had.

2021-12-26The new staff, especially the waiters, were incredibly rude. I was pushed several times while sitting on my own chair. The bold waiter, who was wearing a scarf as if it was a mask, walked by behind me and pushed me in my back and walked away with no regrets. After 15 minutes he did the same. Another waiter almost hit me with his elbow. The food was terribly tasteless and cheap given the price ($168 per person). JUST NOT GOOD AT ALL! The water cost $12 and it was Essentia (not even Acqua Panna or Sanpellegrino) in a plastic bottle that costs $1.99 in Target. There were no table cloths, no embellishments in the room (wasn’t it Christmas Eve?!). I guess they didn’t want to spend anything to create festive atmosphere for guests. Also, one of our glasses had a lipstick stain, which is unforgivable given the prices and all the fuss about the place.I would NOT recommend this place and will NOT return ever.
