Tops Friendly Market in other cities:
Specifically for the Bakery Section. Joe was awesome!!! He helped me through the process of picking a wonderful cake for my daughter’s birthday. He provided me with tons of creative ideas and was very patient throughout the process. My daughter loved the decoration and the cake was delicious. Thank you Joe and Tops Bakery!!
Not my favorite grocery store but it works in a pinch. The produce when I was there was not stocked the best and things didnt look the freshest. But they mostly had what groceries I needed. My big issue is that I was waiting for at least 30 minutes because there were only 2 registers or 3 open and huge lines going back into the shopping isles of people just waiting to check out. The older woman who checked me out was very sweet though.
At the location on Nottingham Rd.,Its no wegmans but more than adequate grocery selection. Clean inside with covered handicapped accessUsed by many of the SU students at the South CampusVery friendly and knowledgeable staffAmple free parking4 self checkoutsShares location with a few other small businesses incl. a pharmacy, a liquor store and a hair salon
Make groceries gross expensive and incomplete. Obviously not my primary shopping place but it is on my way home and when I occasionally stop by I almost always cant find what Im looking for. Did I tell you that its expensive? Its not a cool move to keep prices high knowing that its located in the student area and they have nowhere else to go without a car.
What a dump. I can not believe they stock the shelves with vegetables that are of horrible quality. I have taken rotten meat back there twice. Most of the staff are friendly and provide good service but the remaining few completely cancel it out. This place is next door to my house, but i vow never to walk in there again.
One of the better Tops Friendly Market. This is a significant point since Tops Markets can vary greatly between stores. The quality of the store seems to fall when the market its serving is of lower-income. This Top Market is very clean, well light, with a good variety of fresh produce. Take a drive to one of the inner city Tops Markets and you will find quite a contrast. I would expect some differences in the items carried at a particular Tops that might be based on the demand and ethnicity of the market it serves, but theres no excuse for having lower standards on the quality of the produce or the conditions of the store.
This is my favorite TOPS store. It has a huge selection of everything. The parking lot is safe. The restrooms are clean. I prefer TOPS stores to any other local chain mostly because the customers do not seem so aggressive and stressed out like they are in Wegmans. This store has a very good deli department, and it does not have the typical fried chicken smell to it.
I went to the recycle bottles at this location on Nottingham Road The people at customer service absolutely treated me poorly in my mind I was doing the right thing to try to save the plastic from going into the ocean they do not want to get their nails dirty or break a nail in all reality they’re overpaid and under work it’s very sad that this company puts special education people involved of the bottles because nobody else wants to do it it is sad to me because isn’t minimum-wage like $12-$15 an hour earn your money first and foremost and learn how to treat people you guys have lost a very valuable Customer I will shop elsewhere because of the way I’ve been treated in all reality all I was trying to do is save plastic from going into the ocean I wish there was more people like me in this world I strongly believe by the way I’ve been treated there is a class action lawsuit against discrimination I look forward to pursuing these actions ....
This is a very nice place to go shopping. They offer a little bit of everything including hot & cold foods, also you can find awesome desserts in the bakery area.😋Theres also a great customer service area in the front of the store. If do not see what youre looking for on the floor, Tops has great customer service people available to assist you. Also, if your looking for a store that has quick in and out this is the place to go.☺👍
Its shocking how awful this store is. Its dirty, the staff are largely intent on not being helpful or even civil to customers, and 9 times out of 10 produce is just horrible. This morning I suggested that a manager open a line for a handicapped customer who could not make sense of the self-check out (neither could I, frankly) and she actually laughed at me, I strongly recommend the SU Coop (just down the road) which actually has organic and fresh produce, extremely nice and helpful staff, and a community ethos about making our neighborhoods better places and giving back.
I find the staff to be very helpful, and the store itself is clean and spacious with a huge variety of merchandise. Their health food section is especially notable, as well as the high quality of their produce. Shopping here is a far more enjoyable experience than the Wegmans mega-store concept.
It is close to university houses and south campus. Being in such good location, the prices are obviously a bit higher but make sure you ask for a bonus card on your first visit and then you will be good to go. With bonus card you find nice offers and total shopping price equals that of Walmart for me.
Local place for students to get their groceries. Clean store friendly staff. Prices are not very competitive with area grocery stores. Quality to price ratio that is...for example, Wegmans offers higher quality food at a fraction more than a Tops brand. So IMHO its worth making the drive out to Fayetteville.
Tops is a pretty convenient store to shop at because it is close to my home and is open from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. at night. The food is a little more expensive than Wegmans & Pricechopper, but it is clean and the produce is fresh. It doesnt have the selection of products the other 2 stores have either.
I have shopped in this store since the 1970s. Peters IGA, P&C, Tops..The people have always been helpful and friendly and for the most part the store has been clean.BUT today I could barely walk through the aisles!!!:( There are way too many items being displayed in the middle of the aisles!! clothing (really? who needs to buy a t-shirt in a grocery store?) Cakes, cookies, etc. I had to use a big cart as all the small carts were gone and my cart was too big to navigate around these displays and other shoppers! The whole experience was NOT pleasant! Please do away with these middle of the aisle displays..I cant imagine using a wheelchair the way the store is currently being set up!
First, to be quite honest, if it werent for the awesome people that worked here, this would be a 1 Star ONLY review! Why? Simple:Prices are too high, they run out of things too quickly, AND take forever to replace items. ALSO: The Tops named items are pretty piss poor in actual TASTE!
Waste of time. States that the store is open 24 hours. We needed essentials, so we spent $40 on Lyft rides to get there. Upon arrival we learn that hours have changed to a 1am close. Half my days wages burnt for the privilege of standing in the snow at 2am. 24 hours means 24 hours, not whenever we feel like. Get it together.
Normally, I wouldnt waste my time writing a google review on a grocery store but I felt compelled because of how terrible this place is. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. The staff is terribly unfriendly, rude really. My favorite is the cashier who refuses to bag the groceries *eye roll*. I shopped last night and realized when I got home that the Kashi crackers I purchased for my daughter (on 8/25/16) expired in May of 2016. Thats great. I also realized this morning that 3 out of the 5 Chobani yogurts I purchased had broken seals or holes in the sides. Yall suck!
The worst place anyone can shop...services are not available, cashiers are rude, you have to bag your items sometimes, fruits and vegetables are not fresh, at times we found mold on them the very next day, they close the deli down hours before the posted times, often when you walk in you will see staff talking or texting, ignoring the customers. The managers are often hidden in their offices and I have spoken directly to all of then...they always say they understand but blame the staff...since this lack of service has been going on so long, i now believe it is their fault...the staff only gets away with what the boss allows them to. The last time I was there I used the bathroom. ..there was no toilet paper, no soap, the perimeter of the floor had black mold around it, and apparently smelled so bad that the staffs reaction was to hang a bag of pinecones scented with cinnamon. The only bright light is George in the deli...he always says hello, is positive, and professional. I will never ever ever go into this Nottingham Plaza store, but this now has expanded to all of Tops stores, I am like many of the neighbors, I will definitely travel miles and give thousands of dollars to wegmans, aldis, or price chopper. I want to reiterate that I have tried to talk about what is so upsetting to our neighborhood.
It seems unlikely, however, TOPs tends to be a little more pricey than other Markets in the area. What TOPs brings seems to bring is, 1) Convenience and 2) Shopping ease. TOPs has more stores out there so there is always one close by. Also, TOPs Markets tend to be smaller and logically set up to make finding items a lot easier. This makes a quick trip to the grocery store faster and easier, however, you may pay more.
Good place. However, what I do not like is that in many cases you go and get some brand of something, you go back a while later to get the same brand and you will not be able to find it. It happened to me dozens of times. I find a brand that I like, go back and cannot find it again. It can be frustrating sometimes.
I live about two blocks from here, but will drive to another store whenever possible. Every time I go there, the staff has completely ignored me. I worked in customer service for over a decade and I couldnt imagine ignoring a customer that said hi to me or not responding or even looking up when someone tells you thanks, have a nice afternoon when theyre leaving.

2022-06-09They have no cat food, and when they do it’s mega lame. Cat owners do feed their cats high quality brands too. They need better options. Yet right now they have none.Update they started to add more of a selection to cat food. Still waiting to see greenies for cats though.

2021-11-29A Pleasant Surprise!I visit this store when I want an alternative to my favorite local market that is smaller, and carries a limited stock of vegan foods.I shop, and noticed the sale prices on many of the foods I buy. I used self-checkout, only to have the system complain every 3 seconds, but my total was fine--no errors. Due to the limited amount of space at self-checkout stands, I took my mobile phone out of my shopping bag, and placed it on one of the printers. When I returned home, I noticed the mobile missing, but I did not forget my wallet. I drove back to Tops, advised the Self-Checkout monitor that I left my phone, on the printer; she takes me to Customer Service, talks to an employee, then hands me my mobile. Why the surprise? I remember the Tops in Valley Plaza that was decent enough, but most employees there were bad, I was happy to see that store closed.

2021-06-16Come here for their BOGOs. I recommend their basics like Tops brand cookies, cereals, chips, and meats. Some of Tops brand package design is absolutely delightful! I love their cereal boxes with these happy barfing faces. Tops coco puffs is miles better than Wegmans.People who complaine about Tops prices never visited Wegmans. Although I would caution when shopping Tops fruits and vegetables. They tend to be not as fresh as Wegmans so you need to watch out for the fresher produces.PLEASE bring back the RTZ bacon chips. It was one of the best chips in the store! I miss it so much ☹️

2022-01-17Convince is the only reason I go there. Produce is less than desirable. Stock levels could be better across the whole store and dont expect a Friendly welcome.

2021-03-13I would never go here for produce because it never looks fresh (except the lettuce blends and some fruits; pictured is their cucumbers in the organic section). They offer a wide variety of non-produce and the cuts of meat are always really nice, especially for the price, better than Wegmans in my opinion (although Wegmans offers a wider variety). Overall, their prices seem a little more expensive than Walmart, Price Chopper, and Wegmans (depending on the product), so the membership discount feels as if it just brings you down to regular prices.
