Tops Friendly Markets in other cities:
Still has small produce section, but a lot more organic stuff than all the other Tops Ive been to. Some unusual things too - like jackfruit (non)meatball mix and some yummy plant-based ice creams Ive never seen before.Relaxed atmosphere, friendly workers, not too busy.
I should have taken the trash rolling around in the parking lot as a sign to turn back. From someone who loves grocery shopping, this is one of the most cluttered and disorganized grocery stores I have ever been to. Not only is it claustrophobic, stuff is here there and everywhere without rhyme or reason. At one point I wanted to abandon ship, leave my cart, and walk out. Never again.
While this location is not the biggest in the area, it offers enough variety for my every day shopping trips. Its much easier to negotiate with a cart full of stuff than some of the other grocery stores nearby, and I have yet to get a bad cashier here. I love shopping at this one!
I was in the store, and I saw a little creep that I knew, who had told other people that we knew false and slanderous nonsense about me. I didn’t know that he worked there. I confronted him, and he ran away. His family has taught him that he isn’t responsible for his own actions. He ran through a door, and behind a counter in the back, and I followed in the customer area. He falsely told people that I beat up my family. So I called to him, asking why he wouldn’t face me, like a man. He gave me the finger from the back room, knowing that I didn’t have access. I reported him to management, and they did nothing. Apparently, Tops is ok with their employees giving their customers the finger. Disgusting coward, poor management.
I buy candy in bulk here all the time and never had a problem until today. I was trying to buy only 1 piece of candy from the bulk section.. they usually charge me 5 cents or something like that. The kid at the register said it was too light to weigh and wasnt picking it up so I told her yeah that happens sometimes but it normally comes out to about 5 cents. She gets her manager who looks about 18 years old and he tells me he cant do anything about it and that Im not allowed to buy just 1 piece of candy...are you serious?? I told him I come here all the time and thats ridiculous and that they charge me about 5 cents...he says thats not allowed at all and basically too bad for me. So I just left and went to a different tops where behold. They sold me my one piece of candy and it was 5 cents...smh...Im never coming to this tops again if this who they make their managers and this is how he thinks you solve problems. He basically told me to go eff myself without actually saying it. And the attitude on top of it was nasty. And when I said wow alright. Thanks anyways then and left, I could hear them talking about me as I was walking away. Jeesh. Seriously bad business. Going to do all my grocery shopping at a different store now. This one needs serious help in management. Its sad really...no offense to kids out there that do a good job, but there needs to be adult managers working at this store. Not kids that dont have the life experience or life skills to handle simple problems and know how to treat people kindly and with respect.
I much rather shop at a super Walmart. Same items, better prices.Exception is seafood items. Traditional NYE crab legs..expensive.Counter help was new and definitely inexperienced. Did an awful job wraping order.Cashier slower than slow, put items in bags with no rationale, onions with bread. Considering changing traditions..
This location employs a few very unpleasant persons. Its frustrating to have to choose which cashier line to go thru knowing you will receive an attitude from these cashiers. I look at their name tag so i may appropriately say hello and maybe brighten their day by chatting while scanning my items. Thats what i was taught along with manners as a child. People these days donot interact as i expect and should. Im in that particular Tops market almost daily due to shopping for my patient that lives nearby. Yesterday the deli worker was downright nasty and acted as tho i were ruining his day. He interrupted me when i was asking him a question. Kept saying i dont understand what you want. I merely asked how much the whole liverwurst package weighed. Proprietors dont seem to care how their customers are treated. One other day i wanted to purchase. Some herbs freshly grown...altho they were droopy. So i found a produce worker and asked why the soil in the item was rock hard and dry, doesnt anyone take care of the herbs? He looked at me with a frown and just walked away. I go to the pharmacy and i stand there longer than anyone should. No one says ill be with you in a moment. (No manners!!!)...if they hate their jobs being the reason theyre all like this....then get a job they like...we all have bad days but if i were an owner or manager of a business, i would train my employees to be polite and helpful and treat everyone with kindness as im sure they would like themselves. This is an every day occurrance. Im tired of it. But im stuck shlpping there due to my job.
Its a nice store could do and have a little bit more sanitizing cleaning and youre Mediterranean Mediterranean salad bar and of course people should smile the world is not that bad especially when you going out to pee at your Cashiers I know a goodbye also thank you for coming goodbye I dont know a little bit more marketing on the pr side good luck
Tops is laughable. They are way over priced for most of their products. I used to shop there regularly till I started to venture out to places like Wegmans,Wally-world etc. I always bought one product exclusively at Tops. The price is pretty high for a non name brand product. Well lmao I found it at another store 2.00 cheaper the exact brand And thats when u realized most products at tops are usually 1.00 and up more expensive. And lmao the bakery products are a joke super expensive and mostly frozen then thawed goods with lack of taste and size. Wegmans on the other hand their bake goods all taste homemade larger sizes and priced accordingly. Anyways Tops you should really look around take some notes. Mmllk
The worst parking lot to get into and out of. The specials are rip offs and the only people I see that shop here are the ones that had been going here for years. The self checkout is so confusing that I just wait in line to cash out. I only go here because my 73 year old mother need her meds and thinks she is getting a deal on Pepsi specials. I wouldnt care if they got taken over by another chain. They were great and inovative over 20 years ago. Now it feels like the place is running on auto pilot all day long.
God forbid I buy bulk candy from here. Lori P and Kathy G and whoever the supervisor with the attitude is are completely trash and clearly are unable to treat their customers with respect. Especially Kathy who when I said I would take my business elsewhere replied she didnt care and to go ahead. Sounds like some workers shouldnt have a job if they dont care and have zero customer service skills. WILL be calling management. Completely disgusting.
I like to come here on my lunch break. Today however, I had the worst customer service ever. I believe her name is Davida Im unsure because her name badge was fading on her unclean shirt. She wouldnt look me in the eye, turning her face and puckering her lips whenever I tried to look at her. No please, no thank you, and she hands me my change again without looking at me and no have a nice day. I, myself am in customer service and if I ever did that to anyone, Id be out of a job. She should work in the back room somewhere so nobody has to have such a terrible interaction
This storeCarries Pet care which is refrigerated dog food that I use with my 10 year old service dog. Very few other stores carry it. My experiences with Tops in Wrights Corner in Lockport over the past 47 years has always been excellent. It may not always carry the newest products but their International and gluten free foods are continuallyexpanding. The staff is exceptional and go outoftheir way to be helpful

2019-04-29The best grocery store in the area. Clean, fresh produce, (newly updated) and great sales. This is the local store you should keep coming back to. ~Enjoy your trip there, I know I did.

2022-01-29Shelves are usually fully stocked and staff are friendly. Prices at Tops have been on the high side for about 20 years. Good supermarket to go to if you just need a few things and don’t want to deal with long checkout lines.

2022-02-26Place is always kind of dirty and the prices are really high. The fruits and Veggies are mostly moldy. Rather go to Webmans or Wal-Mart.

2021-05-11I love going to this tops location. I’ve come to know a few employees well, I see Jess, Christian, or Chris on easy scan. They’re all really friendly and very helpful I hardly ever have to wait for help they are all on top of things makes my experience terrific and I keep coming back because I normally only have a few items. So I get in and out really fast they are really great when they are at their respective posts. Love this tops specifically because of them!👍🏽

2021-11-16Tops market pulled a fast one last week. They had buy 6 products get 200 gas points. I purchased the products but didnt get the points. I was informed that I purchased 7.75 oz rather than 8 oz and both just happened to be on sale buy 2 for $5. Now that never happens. The same product in different sizes are on sale for the exact same price & the ounces are .25 in difference. Definitely a rip off that was intentionally done to confuse their customers. Obviously they no longer value their customers since theyve merged. Wegmans here I come. Enough of Tops high prices and now deliberate deception.

2021-02-05#TopsMarkets - the most awful customer service and food being provided at the Maple and Transit Rd location. Apparently 3 slices out of 24 slices equals to 1/3 of the pizza being without meat. #TopsMarketFails---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I picked up the breakfast pizza this morning at the Maple and Transit Road location. And boy, was I disappointed. When Maureen had taken down the order she said it was a sheet pizza with 24 large pieces. I requested that we have at least 6 slices with no meat (bacon) as I had people who didnt eat bacon due to religious reasons. She confirmed and said it would be 1/3 no meat (8 pieces) and 2/3 with meat (16 pieces). As you can see in the picture she managed to give only 3 slices with no bacon instead of 8 slices. Plus not sure what happened that the pizza was dark brown and almost burnt in spots. Not having enough meatless pizza slices left me no other option but to pick up egg n cheese sandwiches for the 4 team members who dont eat bacon. It seems that the DELI team at the TOPS is clueless and doesnt really care what they make/sell at their store. When someone specifies the number of meatless pieces and explains it is due to religious reasons; why would that not be honored? Why and how can TOPS keep making the same errors over and over again ? Why is there an apology for the errors they make ?I am deeply saddened by the callous and casual behavior and awful customer service at TOPS. After having spent $50 on the pizza and bagels + cream cheese I feel I have been cheated out of not only good customer service but also good ,nutritious food .This whole incident has left such a bad taste in my mouth, that I never want to go to TOPS as I am not sure of the service or quality of food I would get even when I pay top dollar.

2020-08-01Generally pretty good. Has been better lately, and not as crowded as Wegmans. However, I hate some of the sales that offer too many free items with purchase for an individual. Can’t help thinking they are trying to unload items nearing “use by” date.

2018-05-06I honestly dont shop at Tops very often but I was close by and decided to stop in. They were experiencing a power outage due to bad weather conditions and they were still accommodating customers. The automatic doors werent working so one of the managers was politely opening the doors for everyone. They were extremely friendly, polite and professional and made the best out of a difficult situation with the power being out!
