Do NOT depend on custom cakes ! They forgot to make ours for our event. So disappointed
Friendlys ice cream $2.98 at Walmart... Tops price, $6.15!! They are out of their minds. Theyre prices are always so much higher than other stores for no reason.
One of the newer nicer looking Tops, but it smells like a literal petting zoo throughout the store, especially the entrance and produce section.
I would rate higher but they are frequently out of products I am looking for especially if its on sale. They always say try back tomorrow and they still never have what I want. On a side note if you stop in overnight they tend to block aisles with stock or other racks if they are doing floor cleaning. The store is usually pretty clean. It is not however well stocked or faced/recovered.
LOVE this place. Ive always shopped at Walmart for my needs but their produce is so much fresher and there is a larger selection for food since its mainly a grocery store. Prices are great with the rewards card as well. Love it!
We have done most of our grocery shopping here for many years. Still is a great place for finding food variety and fair prices. We will always, hopefully, prefer tops market over the ghetto Marts in Batavia.
Person at the gas hut was rude and snippy when asked if its possible to pre pay with a card instead of paying with a card directly at the pump.
A very nice grocery store with fair prices and plenty of sales. The store was very clean and nicely lit.The staff were very friendly and eager to help when I needed help locating things.Its a great shopping experience and I highly recommend shopping at this Tops Friendly Markets store.
They recently upped their urinal cake game. The scent used is oddly alluring, leaving you wanting to come back for another visit. So long as they keep that in check theyll continue to have my business. Also they have some great weekly sales, check their weekly ad.
Nice clean hometown store. Its a fairly standard TOPS with all of the usual grocery staples. This location also provides in season, locally sourced fruits and vegetables and a complete organic and all natural foods section . Easy, fast and convenient shopping at your neighborhood TOPS.
Ive worked at Tops for 16 years and you will not find a better grocery selection in one place anywhere else in Batavia.
I have asked many times now to put the baby and toddler shopping carts inside during the winter bc they are so cold to touch and the kids after sitting a min or 2 have freezing bottoms and hands and want out. My hands are freezing pushing the cart. I even had the man ahold the handle and asked him to push it around the store for me as a get the picture moment and he said he will talk to the cart boys. Nothing has happened and I ha e tried over and over. Nothings changed! They don’t care about the kids and parents just the money! I even thought about pushing them all inside to make a statement but the kids are always with me.
The place is full of items that you need and want. I go here usually to grab most of the groceries. Its a great place to shop at.The problem is with some of the customer service. The employees sometimes did give me a bit of a hard time.Regardless I still come here and shop frequently. Thank you Tops for helping me.
Tops has been doing a good job supplying me the basic things needed.
Its a grocery store; what can you say?I will say that the butchers are some of the nicest that Ive run across. They will gladly carve or grind a cut for you - even an odd request.It would be nice if the store stopped moving things around, but you can usually find an employee to tell you where things are.
I shop at Tops for most of our groceries. This trip I was at the Batavia Store and received good customer service at the Deli as well as the register. It was 12:30 pm and they were already out of the prepared cooked chickens, a little disappointed but will stop by Attica Tops tomorrow.
Have bought food from here thats already past the expectation date, they did exchange the product and take the rest if the expired items off the shelf though. Also are out of stock of items pretty often, but they do give rainchecks for the items.
Excellent quality food items and if you want to find items that are hard to find, you should start here. Love the new remodel. Was easier to see items and labels are more accurate per row.
Probably the best place in town for meat and produce year round. The prices will be a little higher than Wal-Mart, but I find for meat and produce it is usually worth it. This is not a typical TOPS as it is nicer larger and more well kept.
Went there, one employee was verycourteous. The other employees stared, they locked one door, and never said anything to me while walking to the lock door we came in. My point being if the other employees were looking so hard at us at least they could of said that door was locked go out the other door. Very unprofessional.
The carry out was horrible i very un organized and no one know anything . I orderd pizzas was told 15 min come back 20 min later and they tell me its going to be another 15 min talked to the store manager and there was no iam sorry or nothing acted like it was nothing . Thats why I want wegmans

Bankruptcy? Your corporation overcharges for almost everything in the store...and now you are removing the organic section and integrating all organic products all over the store instead of the convenience of having it all in one area. Ridiculous. Overpriced. Inconvenient....and your bagels are always stale.
Great store, very convenient area, the pharmacy has very friendly people to. This store has out beat a lot of stores especially Jubilee ba k in the day. I hope to see this store for years to come.
Out of all the guys Ive had so far the one I had today had as much personality as a pet rock in the middle of a quarry. He didnt say hello&he didnt wish a good day,either. Why is it only the ones who plan on staying have personality and the ones who are only here for the summer are doorstops.
Stopped here at noon on a Saturday. Entered the store at the door nearest the produce department. Much to my surprise there was not ONE cart available at this entrance. I continued into the store where I approached a manager? I informed him there were no carts in the entry. He rudely replied were busy..there are carts at the other entrance! Now, silly me, I thought Mr. Tops Representative would head to the nearest p.a. and request for an employee to bring some carts into what is obviously the busiest entrance. No, instead he proceeded to rudely walk away. This is the reason many people are willing to drive to Clarence or Brockport for certain items not readily available at Walmart, which is the best place with the best prices at the west end of town.
Ive consistently had a positive experience here. Always have what I am looking for in stock, and the staff is helpful in pointing me in the right direction for odd items. Large, clean, and well lit.
The Tops in Batavia is the worse Tops I have ever shopped at. They are consistently out of regular items. They were out of fresh whole chickens! There are literally billions of chickens in the world and they dont have any, for two days! WTF!
Long lines even at self check out.Everything I wanted was in stock winter 2020Spring 2020 the cashiers can not bag gorceries. I had stuff that wasnt even bagged.Cashier is standing there idle and in like up can I check out?

My name is Josh and Im appalled at this place they charge 3 times what others ate charging for same stuff and still cant fix their freezers $6 for melting ice cream ...even with a sale their more expensive than Wal-Mart and then trick you to think your getting deals your not realling getting then advertise one price and charge another ....if Wal-Mart carried everything they had they would have closed alreasy I hope Im still in this stupid town the day they go out of business so i can celebrate....foe example 2 liters $3 for $5.55 their $1.25 everyday at Wal-Mart ..bacon buy 3 get 2 free but they want $7.99 each Wal-Mart price under $4 ....but meat get the meal ingredients free ..however the ingredients are store brand and their overcharging you drastically for the meat
Originally from Wyoming County but now live in South Carolina. Love the hot olives & pasta salad. Get it every time Im in town. Dont have Tops in South Carolina.
I just changed to Tops for my prescriptions because I was unable to get a routine prescription filled at Wal-Mart in a timely manner, Im talking days - not hours. Tops pharmacy is staffed with personnel who treat customers with respect. They even offered to call me if there was a problem filling my prescription to save me a needless public transportation trip to the store. Tops additionally offers several benefits to senior citizens not offered by any other store.
Always shop based on weekly sales and Tops can be very competitive along with gas discounts and price comparison money can be saved and with better lighting... Wegmans is a dark lit atmosphere, clean store and nice staff it beats overcrowded and ok at best atmosphere of Walmart.
Theyre lucky that there is no other major grocery in this city!!!!
Decent prices and the store is laid out pretty well. If you go there late at night they dont stock the shelves so you might run into sale items not being out.
Great hometown grocery store. Load up on all the WNY faves. Sponge Candy, Sahlens hot dogs, Chevetas maranade, wing sauce, Webbers mustard etc. Of course they have a great selection of staples and speciality items.
A few good sale items, overall prices are above average. Clean & organized store w/ friendly staff thou.
Always the best place for BOGO deals on soda and meats. Never any issue with bad food and great service. I will find a tops and shop instead of any wegmans.
Thought theyd have what I needed but was wrong. Bought some other items now I remember why I shop else where $$$$. At least Wegmans saved the day in the end.
Apparently tops is havind issues in the bakery. Ordered round rye for christmas and it was all doughy in the middle. Again today I went to Tops bought a small round rye, again not baked all the way.
The only bad thing I can say about coming to this location is that you wait in line for literally 20 minutes then never fully staffed to have people just come and go they seem to be always busy though they keep it well stocked pretty clean but I hate the lines so I avoid the store just because I dont want to wait in lines
The staff is always great and the store is never disorganized. Its always easy to find something or to get a raincheck if they run out.
Always went there to get the gas points, ,walmart food is actually cheaper..went to gat gas today, the pump shut down at 25 gallons !..new rule I guess...tossed away my bonus card, wont be back

Pretty good regional grocery store. This is one of the larger location and has a very good selection on everything.
The doors are open and the lights are on, but the people up front with name tags on, arent there to help... They have chatting to do, but wont open a register to take money for the things they have in the store to sell.
Large well stocked and very clean store. Good produce department. Customer oriented staff.

A large Tops that has everything I could think of. Great gluten free section, fresh vegetables, ethnic foods, fresh meats.

Prices are high, employees are generally rude and lack customer service skills. I prefer Wegmans for price, quality and service.
Always out of main items that are on sale, or needed for the time of year. Employees are not helpful, like we are bothering them. No helping customers, just point. One of the head cashier is so rude it pathetic.

2022-06-27I really like tops market in Batavia New York but Id have one thing to say they use instacart for shopping to be delivered dont use it they double charge you this is how they do say you order your bill comes to $150 well what happens is this happens quite often the shopper cant find everything so now you Bill goes down to $100 extra cart charges you $250 they double charge you they lock your account $150 and $100 I will never use instacart again I hope tops reads this review its in to instacart thank you

And VERY nicely re-done, right down to the new, convenient-styled shopping carts!!It was like a mansion of grocery stores- a luxury shopping experience. It provides a large variety of product choices, isles clearly labeled, very friendly & helpful staff, eager to assist.Has a Tops gas station.Negatives:Expensive!!! Prices are inflated much higher than all other comparative stores, unless theyre on sale. Not one thing was cheaper. Several items on my list were, on average, 100, 200% more.Many frozen foods had empty shelves, out of stock & no staff was in that dept restocking.If prices were more competitive, Id consider driving the half hour to shop there more frequently than other grocery stores only 15 mins away.

2017-07-24Be very careful about the quality and freshness, look at the photo of the brown fresh meat sitting on the shelf. Shame on you Tops! How dare you allow this clearly expired product on on your shelf. In this day of dangerous foodborne illness, this should not happen.

2021-08-01Been waiting for 10 minutes now for a bakery pickup order. Girl on the phone hasn’t even acknowledged me. How can someone be on the phone for 10+ minutes and not call for help for me and the other guests here waiting. Horrible!!The rest of the stores looks fine however this experience is severely discouraging and wild deter me from ever stopping here again. Customer service needs attention.

2021-07-17The Batavia Tops is better than some of the smaller area Tops. The produce seems to be better here than at other nearby Tops markets. There normally are enough registers open, unlike at other Tops. I do wish that their prices were a little bit better as Tops consistently seems to be on the higher side compared to other supermarkets. I like the amount of choices especially in the different ethnic aisles, where there are some hard to find items. The Olive bar is another favorite as well.

2020-06-01The worst customer service I’ve gotten in a while. I called to ask if I can exchange my 32 count tops spring water that I had just brought. It had a weird taste to The water. The worker that assisted me on the phone was very nasty and rude. I wish she told me her name. When I had arrive to customer service to exchange the pack of water a lady named Khristine assisted me. She was also very rude to me. I explain to her that I spoke to someone on the phone about the situation. She then stated I know all about . She had told me to grab a pack of water that wanted and she said don’t put the old pack of water back on the shelf . In my mind I’m like why would I do that. I can sit here all day and tell you a list of things that she had said that was rude and disturbing. No customer should be treated like this no one. Please tops do better!!
