Very disturbing . Rude disrespectful cashier. Didnt want to put my groceries back in cart because I didnt purchase a bag. I asked her if I had to put my groceries in the cart or does she do it. She didnt answer I asked her again. She threw my groceries in the cart . I asked her if she was ok, why the attitude she said I dont have an attitude I told her she was being rude and demonstrating poor customer service she replied whatever I told her that was uncalled for and I was going to speak with a manager she replied whatever I dont care. I spoke with a young lady from customer service. She apologies for the cashiers behavior staying she would speak to her. This was very upsetting to me Ive been shopping at top for quite a number of years this behavior from your employee makes me want to turn in my bonus card and not shop at your stores. Young employees she be oriented fervently about etiquette of customer service especially when it comes to seniors. Redpectly G.P.
I typically have never had an issue coming to this Tops in the last ten minutes that it is open. I am aware that currently this Tops closes at 10pm. I arrived at 9:55pm and was told very authoritatively that they are closed. If I had been asked, I was only wanting to purchase Orange Juice and would have been able to make my purchase and be out in under 3min. I am very understanding of closing times as I work in a local restaurant. We will serve customers up until the actual time we close and are not rude when turning people away. Hopefully someone cares enough to read this and take it to heart, otherwise calling yourselves Friendly Market is a lie if it does not apply to the entirety of your operating hours.
I have medical issues with my back,which limits my abilities to pick up items that are to heavy or to lift items out of a cart ect.the other day a worker seen me struggling to get bags out of the cart and came over and assisted me even though it cut into their break time.that was wonderful to me.in 20plus yrs of shopping here Ive had issues with employees maybe 4-5 times and thats pretty good for 20+yrs.everyone else has been great and helpfully,pleasant.
Tops is usually a last resort grocery store, or one of convenience. Today was an example of why. The spice aisle was decimated. Employees dont know know how to wear masks correctly. Self checkout machine had a broken speaker, and far too many prompts for customer interaction. And youd think employees would be constantly cleaning these machines, when in fact they couldnt care less. Plastic wrap over the keypad solves nothing when everyone touches it.
The store has been renovated from the last time I was there and it is well done. The selection is still good. But my cashier was just not having people at all. She seemed bothered to be there dealing with people, expected me to put the bags in the cart (which I am not usually opposed to, however her attitude made me slightly interested in how she would handle it when I didnt)., Her attitude got worse after I didnt load my own groceries. Just all in all a bad customer experience though I dont fault the store for one disgruntled employee. Maybe she was having a bad day.
I rarely ever come to this Tops but it is pretty much your regular Tops. The lay-out is a bit different though and I usually favor that when its not the norm that Im used to... The staff is usually cool. Moderately busy depending on when you go so I would recommend to go early if you dont like the crowds. Overall, I would refer this place to someone who is in the area and is looking for some good, clean service while shopping...
I just called to ask if the store was open Easter day, and I get ughhhh the store is open regular store hours I say thank you- she just hangs up on me!Not the only reason for a bad rating. There is never enough cashiers, always takes forever to cash out with only 1-2 cashiers. They do have the self checkout but that gets packed too.
Helpful staff and good variety when the shelfs are stocked. Helpful employees but not very knowledgeable of the store. Thats why I rate as a 4 star. If you need to find anything look for it as all long as you have to because employees dont no were anything is. I was told what was in aisle 3 was in aisle 8. Check cashing is fast here to. The line might get long but the people behind that counter get there work done so fast!!!
So their remodeling the store which looks nice but maybe they should do something about the cashiers! Asked the girl at the self check out the same question 3 times and she looked at me and never answered. Must have been to concerned about her friend standing in the way. Another reason we should increase wages SMH
I get that Tops is a local chain, but their equipment is so outdated. Trying to get through self checkout took so long. The thing asks you too many questions, is overly complicated, and it took several attempts to pay for less than 10 things. Everytime I go there I complain about something. The staff members were helpfulish, this time. Ive had a couple poor, and 1 terrible experience with staff.
Service desk needs more customer service training.The woman at the counter wasnt friendly at all. I asked her to do something pertaining to another store. The woman was not pleasant with her response.The manager needs to beware of the employee conduct, character towards all customers.
Back in the day, I use to buy sickly plants and the store would take into account that the plant wasnt looking to hot and theyd give me a discount. That was 25 yrs ago. Tonight I bought a little arrowhead that was looking pitiful and another customer said, dont get that one its dead. I wanted it anyway cuz I thought it would come back. Get to the register and the manager let me have it for free. He said if you want to nurse it back to health, its yours. That was very nice of him.
I was robbed by another customer at this location on June 9, 2018. I immediately went to the store manager who watched the surveillance video and was told to immediately go file a police report in which I did. It’s now been 20 days and this store still hasn’t turned the video over to the police so they can try and identify her. I was told by the police Tops has not turned the video over due to not having anyone there to burn them a copy. Really!? I was told by the manager that this happens quite often at this location hence the reason why they have such a good relationship with the Cheektowaga Police but now your not going to turn this video over to them!? When this happened in the store I was checking out at self checkout, right next to the cashiers station, less than two feet away. Two cashiers were standing there and facing my direction the entire time. I shouldn’t have but left my wallet on the self checkout machine as I needed to hand the cashier a coupon. I literally only needed to turn around to do so. My son was with me and my youngest daughter whom I was holding in my hands. This lady next to me cashing out, not once but twice I was told, walked over to my machine and stole money out of my wallet. Now theirs two cashiers standing there facing my machine and while I have my back turned to it, they didn’t see this lady come over twice to my machine and steal out of my wallet?????? I don’t think so! I think corporate needs to review this video and see if these two cashiers watched this happen and did nothing about it. They need to be held accountable if so.
Awful and disgusting I just sent a message on the FB page next time I will take pictures. Rotten produce, dirty carts a bathroom that will make you gag. Compare it to the maple road location and the difference is huge. My money is green also and I expect fair treatment. This is not the first time I have been repulsed by this location. Clean it up tops. Had to give 1 star I wanted to give given negative 5
Lack of employees with any knowledge it always takes 4 staff to find 1 normal thing.... bags get over packed cuz I always forget mine (cloth ones)most of this is in fact middle managements fault. Poor training no time spent familiarizing with all of the stores items etc.
Employees are very ignorant to customers. There was this cashier who was at the register for self checkout.the entire time she was on her phone. I couldn’t figure out one thing there so I call her and she showed me an attitude then briefly said something I didn’t even understand nor did I have any interest to ask her anything. She walked away and stayed on her phone the whole time. It’s upsetting they don’t even have enough registers open for people who doesn’t know how to do self checkout. It’s is crazy they had only one open for the huge store. I avoid going there now just bcz of poor customer service. Very disappointed
Generally has what I need but bad customer service.....for example....needed help at the Bakery to get writing on a cake and waited for 20 minutes and no one ever came, even after another employee called to have someone come and assist me. Therefore they lost my business.
Lines were long and advertised sale items were not available. On 9/15/19 I went into tops in Cheektowaga to buy pasta sauce which was on sale for 4.49 regular price 5.99. Got to the register and the cashier refused to give me the sale price bc the advertised item was 66oz and the actual item that was on the shelf was 67oz. I find that to be a disturbing practice. I would not recommend.
Love this cause I can stop by the soup bar get some of their Buffalos Wing Soup not a fan of spicy food but this soup is the tasty right flavor so is their Beef Chili they have other food but I love those and you can even sit down in their little eat-in and then cash out go home or wherever and enjoy the rest of your day.

I had to get a babysitter for my two children and finally got out of the house to get groceries for the week only to get completely disrespected. I had a cart full of groceries $230 worth and when the only cashier on with her light on saw my cart she said she had to go on break and was closed. Mind you she was still cashing someone out ahead of me and had no sign saying she was closing and again her light was still on. She had no cashier to relieve her for break. I asked where Im supposed to cash out and she states the self check out. Never have I ever cashed out a $230 order at self check out. Completely not what the self check is for. I had bags lined up on the floor. Absolutely the worst experience. Will NEVER be back to this store. The self check out employee was avoiding me the entire time because he knew I was so angry. I ended up dropping a yogurt as well all because my order was WAY too large for self check out area. I tried to call the store twice after to file a complaint and needless to say no one answered Im not surprised because clearly no one wants to work at this location. If I didnt make arrangements and need all my groceries I would have left them there. Ill stick with Wegmans from now on!
Wasnt busy so one cashier, which meant standing in line 30 mins, also I felt bad for people with only a few items,including a elderly woman, so let them go ahead of me. Also whats up with the e coupons ? Dont want to go on line to get them, I prefer yours in the ad or Sunday paper coupons, alot of people dont own computers also when things arent on sale very expensive, your discounts on gas dont come close to what we spend.
HORRIBLE. Stay FAR AWAY. ONLY 1 out of 10. Only 1 counter was open on a busy day, we waited in line was 40 minutes then the checkout lady named Keke had a very racial attitude. The manager wouldnt speak to me.This is literally the worst place to go shopping. I dont know how theyre still open
The bakery is too expensive because Walmart has more to choose at lower prices. I asked for a bonus card several times on different days and they never seem to have one. The prices are outrageously high, and it took me 55 minutes to checkout of the store because the store was packed and 3 or 4 lines were open.
Its been remodeled and its beautiful, in especially impressed with the shopping carts and have a senser on them where it locks after a few feet from the store...people dont realize when they take a shopping cart for personal use the people who shop at that store has to pay for the cost of a new one...so I applaud them for doing that
So I had to give the store one star in order to give it a rating ..otherwise it wouldnt get one ..I will not be seen in this store again ..its always dirty and gross ..the bathrooms are always nasty and disgusting ..they never seem to have enough cashiers on during their busy time ..lines backed up in the ailes at the registers and easy scan ..and to top it all off ..they have bed bugs yuck ..who wants to shop at a store where there are bed bugs ..they have been found in boxes and on coats in the break room ..sorry but there are plenty of other stores in the area that are nicer than this one that I can shop at
This is the nastiest Tops in WNY. This place is dirty. Shelves are never restocked. Pharmacist is useless. No candt aisle. Floors are filthy. And dont get me started on the customers. I guess EBT cards are the norm. People threw meat in the bread aisle. Just left it there. Gross. So i believe when you see a manager special on meat it must be the junk that they collected from the other shelves. Can you say Hepatitis????I will drive 1/2 hr out of my way to find a Wegmans. NEVER AGAIN
Omg, I been to many tops and I swear I wont come back again to this one... I couldnt believe the customer service of a manger name Joe.. He bluntly told me that there is no one higher then him at all.. That he couldnt help me at all.. To top it all he lies right in front my face, like are you serious? I work with customers service and I know for a fact he could of handle that way better... He made me feel like he was discriminating tours me.. I just dont recommend this place at all.. I dont like wishing him to be fire but I seriously think he needs more training as a floor manger.. People who think that they are on top of their work place is a cooky dude with alot of problems heading their way.. Smh .. And to think i was going to send some people to work their... Smh.. I could of been a undercover boss and he would of been fire pn the spot.. Because I can up to him clam and respectful and that was sooo bad... And corporate has no idea how bad this place is smh .. This is a shame place.. Good luck for the rest of yea... Smh
If it were not convenient , would not even stop here . The deli workers are actually rude .. purposely drag their feet .. with almost a smirk .. I have lived in this area and shopped here my entire life , the managers are allowing this store to go right down the drain ! Shameful

2022-05-22This is a decent place yo do your food shopping but I have a few other options that I prefer. There was a good selection of produce however some of the damaged / expired items should have been removed. The deli selections are limited but the fresh made antipasto is good. They dont carry a basic smoked chicken or turkey option. Prices are reasonable.

2022-01-30Laura the cashier was very nice, kind and friendly to communicate with, I completely forgot I had to request a paper bag before checkout but checked my pockets anyway to pay for a bag Laura beat me to it and paid for a bag out of her pocket. That was very nice, thoughtful and professional of her.I recommend shopping at Tops thruway plaza location and support this local business and if you’re lucky enough to have Laura as a cashier !

2022-02-19I bought some bone in chicken thighs yesterday. They smell and taste like a wet dog with flea dip.It is the nastiest chicken ever and the taste wont even wash out.Ill never buy Chicken from there again.I want my money back !!!

2022-03-17Always listing stuff on flash food that isnt there and not listing stuff that is there. they need to be more on top of updating that stuff. i get that its not a super high up priority, but its still annoying when they replace that I should get with something else due to not having it(more often than not similar stuff at a lower original price meaning i dont actually save as much) and stocking stuff on the shelf that i want but cant yet buy due to it not being listed in the app yet

2022-01-11They just have a lobster with its leg broken and being very inhumane about how they are storing the sea food. When I told someone about it they said oh well they are going to die anyway. If you cant feel bad for animals at all you are a terrible human being

2021-07-26Great shopping experience! I came in around 6:30PM. The Gentleman serving me in deli was super nice and is very fast(Which is uncommon in delis). The lady who was there was funny and polite! I’ll definitely be shopping more!

2021-05-21Im from the southwest so this review might not be fair from others perspective but here goes. I have never shopped at a grocery chain that has so many items out of stock on their shelves. I wanted to make a simple meatloaf and couldnt find many of the ingredients needed because they were out of stock. I shopped 3 different Tops markets looking for the items. I also found Tops prices to be 30-50% higher than I am used to paying for products but, as I said earlier, things may be different for me in my state. Otherwise, I did find each store to be clean, well organized & the employees helpful.

2021-12-25Lately everytime I shop here there is some sort of issue. I have gotten expired food in my curbside orders as well as poor quality food when I shop in store. Produce is always mushy or wilted here. Most recently a individual package of cheese contained moldy cheese.
